The Afterglow AP.1 "New for 2010" controller is a good controller if you consider the price comparison to a PS3 Sixaxis controller. The lights are cool and it is responsive but not nearly as responsive as the $44.99 PS3 controllers are. Considering I paid $24.99 for it, I can't complain. I used this controller to play MLB10 The Show and I was able to play the game very easily with this controller. Again, the Sixaxis controller is far more responsive. If you want another controller to actually play competitively with, stick with what works. If you want a cool looking, fun to play with in the dark controller which you'll use just to have a little fun without needing it to be completely responsive, the Afterglow controller should be fine.

. . . but I wouldn't bother trying to play any games with it. The control sticks on this piece are horribly unresponsive, a small detail that make a big difference in most games. But I will admit the lights are pretty.

This product is a complete peice of junk, don't waste your money on this. I purchased this controller from Best Buy and after one day the left thumb stick stoped working and the camera in the game would just spin. After taking the controller back to Best Buy and exchanging it for another one it worked fine up until a week and a half later when the same thing happened. I called customer service and complained, they are sending me the newest model they make so I'll see how that goes. Next time I will just spend the $54 for a real PS3 controller.

I'll admit, the controller looks great when plugged in. That's about it, however. I play a lot of First Person Shooters, so I figured the altered L2 and R2 shoulder buttons would help me play more competitively(The buttons are dropped in the back to encourage using both pointer and middle fingers, rather than controlling all four buttons with just the pointer fingers.) The L2 and R2 are poorly designed, though, being both hard to push in due to over coiled springs and are they're very noisy when pushed. The analog sticks are also fairly unresponsive causing a "dead zone," which is when the player has to completely push the analog sticks over to get a response, rather than movement at the slightest touch. For those that care, the controller is also wired, so it's not as convenient as a wire-free controller.

Also note that this controller is not compatible with Playstation 2 games being played on the PS3, since the PS3 does not recognize the controller when trying to play a Playstation 2 game on it. This was also a surprise to me, for I still have quite the collection of Playstation 2 games which I play on my PS3.

A very poor product.

The controller looks cool and the joysticks were as smooth as the Dual Shock 3. The controller is smaller than the Dual Shock 3 which takes time to get use to. Even the buttons are smaller than the regular Dual Shock 3 buttons. The 3 LED's on the controller are very bright and can light up a dark room but you won't be able to see the labels on the buttons. I had to send this controller back because the top R1 button didn't work properly. I would be playing Modern Warfare 2 and the gun would stop shooting until i pressed the button in even harder. I'm not the type of person to abuse my controllers so for me to jam a button down is unnatural.
