i was hesitant about buying one of these only because....i heard that different covers tore easily. but i cant say that i was gentle putting it on but it held up great now my controller feels better in my hands and about 70% is protected from dirt and food and whatever else my be on my hands.............only complaint is there is a seam where the rubber was put together that runs up the sides of both handles of the controller that seem unimportant until a few hours of play later and you can feel your palms getting a bit irritated..and that sounds weird and maybe thats just me but other than that its a good product

My first flight stick (or joystick) was the Microsoft Force Feedback Pro which was a very good stick it had some 'slop' in it which eventually got so bad that it was no longer tolerable. It was rugged and comfortable to use, but Microsoft quit making them & also quit supporting them in many flight Sims & newer games. I then had two Saitek Cyborg Evo Joysticks. The first one developed a problem after 11 months with little use, when it went out of calibration and the rudder output stuck in 50% left rudder position and couldn't be fixed by recalibration so it was replaced under 1-year warranty. Within 10 months switch #5 quit working on the second or replacement joystick so at this point I decided to look for a different manufacturers joystick because by now I had lost faith in Saitek being able to make a reliable joystick. I am seventy years old and I take good care of my equipment I don't abuse my joysticks so if they don't last for me I doubt that they would last for anyone. I searched Amazon reading joystick reviews and came across the T-flight Hotas Stick Pc PS3. This joystick had the features I wanted and was rated very high almost 5 stars even though at the time it had only five reviews so I ordered it.

This joystick can be used with either a PC or PlayStation 3. It has a PC-PS3 switch so you can select which one you use.

It came with the throttle and joystick separated so I decided to try it this way for a while. I've had this joystick now since the first week in August 2009 and I really like this joystick.

PRO:

1. It comes in two parts, the throttle & joystick, separated by an interconnecting cable approximately 18" between them but, they can be mounted together as one assembly if desired as the necessary wrench is included and the throttle & joystick are designed to be mounted together as one unit. I like them separated as it is more realistic with the throttle on my left and the joystick on my right.

2. Very simple to connect to your computer. You connect the joystick to the USB port on your computer via the integral USB cable & connector that's it! No separate power supply or adapter is required because this joystick gets its power from your computer through the USB cable/connection.

3. No installation CD included or required as once you connect this joystick to your computer it is automatically recognized and calibrated a plug & play joystick they don't get any simpler than this!

4. The throttle & joystick are very comfortable to hold & use. Together they have twelve programmable switches which are very easy to use on both the throttle & joystick. There are four programmable switches on the joystick module and eight on the throttle module. The joystick can be twisted left-right for the rudder control the throttle module has a slider switch which can also be used for rudder control if so desired. Also there is an eight-position hat switch located on top of the joystick this is normally used for 'looking around' in flight simulator programs. Both modules are quite robust & heavy enough so they don't move around much unless you really give them some pushing around.

5. So far this joystick is performing excellent & a great buy for the money.

CON:

1. None that I know of so far except maybe it would be nice to have the interconnecting cable between the joystick & throttle modules be longer & have connectors that can be unplugged in case of damage they could be replaced. Also I'd like to be able to move them a little further apart.

UNKNOWN:

1. How long will this last before something goes wrong? Only time will tell.

With Tom Clancy's HAWX on the way to the PS3 later this season, and my sudden urge to revisit Freespace 2, X-Wing, the Wing Commander games on my PC, I decided to give this joystick a shot since it was cheaper than PS3 version of the Saitek Aviator, and it's also a hands-on-the-throttle model. I am sure glad I did! This stick is awsome, I am very glad that I gave it a chance even though reviews were scarce.

It has just about every button you could possibly want in a joystick, they all fell right when pressed, it's programmable, has a throttle with an alalog rocker for even more control options, and it all feels very intuitive when held. I tested it in the Windows game controller utility and everything seems to move quite precisely. Afterwards, I played Freespace 2 and the demo for the Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line mod, and it was a total blast. I was able to map the controls perfectly to all the buttons on the stick, and I was flying like an ace in no time.

They really thought of just about everything for this stick. The throttle module is actually detachable via an included Allan wrench, so if you prefer "cockpit accurate" distance between the stick and throttle, it's there for you. There's even a knob on the bottom of the stick that lets you adjust how much resistance the spring gives you! Pretty much the only thing you don't get is force feedback, but that's hardly shocking since this is an under $50 stick. It's even lap friendly, which is dandy if you don't have a coffee table or your desk is too crowded.

Overall, this is a very good stick, and is great for PS3 users or people looking for an entry level stick for their PC. For under $50, you'd be hard pressed to find a Hotas model as good as this one, and I'd much rather use this for my PS3 than a Saitek Aviator due to it's more solid build quality and hands-on throttle. Unless you'd rather drop $100 on a fancier model, Thrustmaster's console-friendly offering will serve you very well.

This is my second one. I bought the first from Amazon last October-08. I was impressed with it's construction and overall operation ,but it had a few quirks. So I sent it back and paid the re-stock fee.

I've been a Microsoft Flight Simmer for 7-8 years and I've tried and/or owned almost all the joy-sticks and yokes(with and without foot pedals)that have been marketed in this country.

I have a soft spot for my Logitech 3-D Pro that has served me well for many years but I never really cared for their throttle design, and I guess thst's what attracted me to the Thrustmaster Hotas.

After waiting 6-months to give the manufacturer a chance to make another production run (and hopefully overcome the faults I found on my first one) I ordered another and found that it worked flawlessly. I am now a happy "camper".

If joy sticks are your thing, look no further, THIS IS THE ONE.--- Extremely well made, solid professional feel, smooth control actions that allow precise take-offs and landings, heavy weighted, priced right and delivered by Amazon.

Order one now, you won't be sorry !!!!

I've used it for a month now with FlightGear (a serious non-combat PC flight simulator).

The good:

* It has enough buttons and axes for most needs. No matter what you buy, you'll always have to use the keyboard/mouse for some operations such as starting engines, lights, radio. The rocker built into the throttle may be mapped to the rudder if you don't like to rotate the stick.

* It's also comfortable to the hand.

THE BAD:

* Large dead zone. Explanation: The "dead zone" or "dead band" is the small range of motion around the center position where the joystick reports no change. It makes it easier to fly level without holding the stick, but for small corrections (e.g., to stay aligned with the runway when landing) you'll have to swing across that zone. Games (e.g. HAWX) help with this by averaging and filtering your input, but with flight sims you'll overcorrect all the time and you'll hate it.

* You may experience some "sticky" friction from time to time, causing jerky motion.

I guess you get what you pay for :)

The T-flight Hotas Stick is designed to connect via the USB port and work with either a PC or a PS3. So far, we've tried it on a PS3 only with the excellent IL 2 Sturmovik Birds of Prey and with Tom Clancy's HAWX.

I will discuss our experience within the context above.

PACKAGING AND SETUP

Not much to complain in this area. the 'instrument' comes nicely packed and it was easy to get it out of the box.

It's initially separated into 2 modules: the joystick/rudder and the throttle and it's possible to use the joystick only. It took us a couple of minutes to figure out how to fit the 2 pieces together but, in the end, it was no big deal. It comes down to tightening a couple of screws with the supplied tool that is stored safely for future use at the bottom of the stick.

The only other adjustments other than 'programming' would be to 'block' the rudder function on the joystick by tightening another screw so that it's only available on the throttle and to set the proper handle resistance via a dial located on the bottom of the joystick module.

Using the stick with the PS3 is as simple as setting the USB selector button to PS3 and plugging the USB connector into one of PS3's ports, then starting the game.

OPERATION

From a PS3, point of view, I am happy to see that all the Six-Axis buttons, including the PS are mapped on the joystick and the throttle and, most of the time, they are clearly labelled. The main differences are of course, this controller being wired and its lacking rumble and motion sensitivity. To avoid complications, it is possible to start your PS3 with the joystick as the only control and then start your game and operate everything this way.

The manual states that, once you begin using it within a game, the stick will calibrate itself after you make a few moves. We haven't experienced calibration issues so it must be true.

The 8 ft. USB chord may be sufficient for most but it wasn't for us. We have a rather large screen and we play from 8-9 ft. away. The AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters) took care of that problem.

My 12 yr. old kid feels that the games are more responsive when using the PS3's own motion-sensitive controller. This is probably the case but what this device provides is some level of realism. It's more realistic to pilot a plane with a stick and a throttle than by tilting and shaking a controller. After a little practice, he now prefers the Stick to the PS3 controller.

MY RATING

I found the T-flight Hotas Stick to be a great way to play flight simulation games and, for the price, it can't get much better than this. I am happy with this purchase and so are my kids. It's 5 stars which, in Amazon translation means "we love it".

PROGRAMMING

We tried it, just for fun and it turns out to be quite easy even though not exactly needed for the games we are currently playing. It's basically a 4-step process that would allow you to:

switch buttons

switch axes between themselves

switch the directions of the same axis

It's done by enabling the 'manual' mode by pressing a button, press and release the mapping button, press the button or direction you want to program, press and release the button or direction you are placing the function. For all of the above there is visual feedback of LEDs flashing.

Like I said, it can be done but it can get complicated quickly. Thankfully, it's easy to erase your manual preset and to return to the factory defaults.

Love the game so far. The collector's edition is awesome. One small complaint however. I don't like how the game i s held in the art booklet. I wish they gave us a standard game case or at least one with an alternate art. I wanted to give my mom the artbook because she is a huge batman fan. Unfortunately, I like to keep my games organized on a bookshelf and not having its own case is a little annoying.

I pre-ordered the collector's edition as soon as it became available on here back in July. Batman has been my favorite hero since I was three years old and I loved Arkham Asylum. I'm already halfway through the game and can tell you it is a work of art. Although Arkham Asylum was such an amazing game, it seems as though it was just a long Demo for this game. The story is awesome and running into most of the Gotham villains in the same night is exactly how I view the Dark Knight spending his nights. It reminds me of the Hush run by Jeph Loeb & Jim Lee where Batman faces villain after villain and always finds a way to come out on top.

I must admit that I did not think it was possible to top the great game play of Batman Arkham Asylum. I figured the sequel would be equally as good, but perhaps not anything beyond what I had already experienced in Asylums game play. Well, I was wrong, and I gladly admit that. I pre-ordered the game on Amazon and it arrived on on my door step on its scheduled release date. The unboxing of the collectors edition was great. Lots of extras such as Penguin Lounge and Catwoman redeemable codes for PS3, the soundtrack download, a beautiful Batman figurine and a very nice booklet with illustrations of Batman characters. I even received an Arkham City comic book (I already had the 5 issue set so this 6th comic book was nice). If you're a Batman fan you will love it this collectors edition. As far as the game play goes, I don't want to spoil the fun but it is definitely longer gameplay than Arkham Asylum and the graphics are out of this world. Arkham City has a pretty large environment to move around in compared to Arkham Asylum. The riddles are more fun to figure out and plenty of side missions to keep the player interested in the game. I found myself switching from doing the side missions and then going back to the main story just to keep things in balance. The story line is very well written. Of course you may have seen the trailer and know The Joker is in this game, but to my surprise the game has more villains that I imagined; very awesome. You have similar gadgets as in Asylum but then get some very awesome ones in the game as well that are required to retrieve Riddler trophies (a concept from Asylum that was greatly improved) that are scattered all over the place. The good thing about this game is how you unlock character bios and artwork concepts with each trophy you find, so there is an incentive to collect them all and there is well over a hundred trophies and plenty of riddles to solve, so its no walk in the park. I am telling you, this game will keep you busy and on your toes. This game is a must for any Batman or superhero enthusiast. I know I'll be playing this game for a while. If you have not played Batman Arkham Asylum (you're depriving yourself from an awesome game) then do yourself a favor and buy the game, yes buy it because it is an awesome game, and play it through to the end. You will need to in order to understand the story line as it picks up from Asylums ending. I got the Batman Arkham City Batarang from Amazon as well. Very nice PS3 controller.

I was a huge fan of the first Batman (Arkham Asylum). I was glad when the announcement came for a Collector's Edition of the second coming came.

The Batman statue is actually well made, individually numbered and well worth the extra in my opinion. I have been using all the collectors editions statuettes for bookends for quite some time.

The Art Book is hard bound, the only draw back I have found with this edition is, the game disc snaps into the back of the art book. I would have preferred an actual game case over this but no such luck.

The downloadable content is ok, but I do not play much of anything online multiplayer so this nagates some of the Extra content included, Although the catwoman "missions" add extra value to the game.

Also just an FYI install your catwoman DLC before you start the game, you will see that it changes the intro and many other things a good degree.

The game is very well done, the fighting seems to be tighter, the graphics are still gritty gotham city. But I really appreciate the open world feel of this game. The same voices as the animated series make their triumphant return in this sequel as well, which was a welcome addition.

There are plenty of Bat gadgets and so many things to do a completionist will spend a lot of time with this game.

Over all I enjoyed the game just as much if not more than the previous and cannot wait for AA3 hopefully. What a great way to reboot the batman franchise in gaming. They pulled the AA games off flawlessly.

Want Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition for Playstation 3 Discount?

While I enjoyed Arkham Asylum more, that doesn't mean this game isn't as fun as the first.

It keeps everything I enjoyed from the first one: fast paced fist & gadget fights, in-depth back stories of every main character you meet and the familiar artifacts of the Batman lore.

They also add some great features like multiple story arcs, more detailed detective missions and better hints to figuring out Riddler's trophies/riddles

That's right! Unlike the last game, Riddler's trophies/riddles are challenging, instead of nearly impossible to figure out without looking online.

To top off an amazing game, the Collector's Edition comes with an incredibly detailed statue and a neat little art book (which is also the game's case). It also comes with various DLC, a soundtrack and a DVD of Batman: Gotham Knight

So in other words, buy Batman: Arkham City. If you haven't played Arkham Asylum, buy that one too.

This game is great fun and has made both me and my wife laugh numerous times. There are many fun aspects about the game such as the character and the fun of running around and trying to figure out where to go next. The best part is it comes with a controller if you priced these items separately they would be about 10-20 dollars more. What a great deal.

One of the best valued products out there. I originally bought this bundle for the controller, and decided to give the game to my sisters. After watching them play after several times I gave in and gave it a try and enjoyed it tremendously. Would recommend it if you want a new controller. saves you money and for 5 bucks more you get a game 30 dollars worth plus coming with downloadable content already 30 bucks thats like 60 dollar steal.

Want LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition and Black DualShock 3 Wireless Controller Bundle Discount?

I was in need of a new controller and was hesitant because the price of a new DualShock 3 at the time was nearly the same price of a game. However as soon as I saw this awesome bundle I hesitated no longer! It's like getting a free game with a purchase of a controller or a free controller with a purchase of a game!

When I bought this bundle I wasn't even in the market for a game, but as I said earlier this was basically a free game for me since I was only looking for a controller. The controller is great. Not as light as a Sixaxis and the analog sticks are way more durable! Not much you can say about the controller other than the buttons are all working and that the sixaxis in motion controls are till working fantastically. The addition of vibrations was excellent. Way better than a Sixaxis that came with my 80GB PS3!

Now the game. I wasn't familiar with the LittleBigPlanet franchise, but I knew that it was one of the highly acclaimed Sony exclusives that every PS3 owner just so happened to own and love. So I said why not. It wouldn't hurt to try. It was on e of the best gaming decisions I have made as a PS3 owner. The game was fantastic! Just pure FUN! The single player was an excellent adventure both offline and online (yup, the game has Co-Op for story mode)! The amount of creativity in the game is spectacular and one of the best I have seen in any game. There is always something to do with this game. But I feel that this game shines the best when you play with friends. Whether it be offline or online, playing with a friend has never been so fun! Keep in mind that this game is the Game of the Year Greatest Hits Edition, so it included FREE DLC on the disc. So that right there is adding even more value to the purchase. This is a must get bundle!

but since i am.. i'm giving it 4.

The good:

-The game looks great and especially when your webslinging through NY at night time.

-They've added a God of War kick to it. You're now involved in the cinematic action scenes. I think i'm about half way through and the extra moves that can be unlocked is kinda cool.

-You can now walk inside some buildings for certain missions.

-Added different missions

( disarming bombs, taking pictures, taking MJ for web slinging field trip )

The bad:

-Even though the game looks great, there are alot of graphic bugs.

( alot of seaming and clipping )

-Collision problems

( Characters getting pushed into walls, enemies get stuck )

-A.I. needs help.

(enemies will run away.. are simply just stare at you)

-I wish they would've implented a good soundtrack.

-Not sure about this complaint of mine, but i wish or hope.. that i'll be able to play a villian when i beat the game. I heard you can play the goblin... but.. i'd rather play sandman or venom.

Overall, its a good game. If your a spidey fan, its a great game. it's always fun to swing around the city.

Spider-man 3 does its movie counterpart absolutely no justice in this poorly, and lazily done game. This does not seem much better than Spider-man 2 for the PS2. There is a few new additions in there. Such as a slightly improved combat system, a fresh coat of paint, and a little bit of reflection on some surfaces. The combat system seems terribly incomplete, almost no transition between moves, no fluidity at all, it just felt rushed.

Bosses and some missions felt unnecessarily frustrating, unable to see some enemies, while they would attack what you were trying to protect. I also had several problems with mission "coins" disappearing. Stupidly powerful enemies that stopped taking damage after you had given them an unrelenting beating for nearly 10 minutes, knocking them over countless times.

The "God of War"-esque button system is really innovative, and absurdly complicated. God of War normally limited its buttons to just the face buttons. This one throws face, control stick movements and R1,R2, L1, L2 at incredibly inept time, so unless you are really quick, some give you less than a second to complete the combination. Luckily when you mess up a combination, you are never put back at the "start of the level" or anything, it just repeats and unlike God of War, it will use the same sequence you just failed, however, fail one against a boss character, he can do up to 25% damage to you, 4 failures and you are toast, or really close to it. Control could have had more attention paid to it. The swinging is cool, but run into a bulding and the camera will sometimes freak and get stuck somewhere momentarily, thats not a terrible detriment to gameplay, its when the camera gets stuck somewhere in a fight and you swinging at nothing you can see, thats frustrating.

Bruce Campbell makes his return as the Narrator, though he really gives you nothing new for this game aside from the "Matrix-Style" bullet time. If you have played Spider-man 2, dont expect too much new here. Like I said a fresh coat of paint.

This does not exactly live up to the free roaming sandbox gameplay. Framerate tends to struggle in closed areas, people are not very well detailed at all, they all look like scared puppy dogs, while you are very well designed, and the highest amount of detail is paid to Spidey and the bosses.

With that said this game does have its shiny points. Physics are somewhat used here, the sun reflects off windows realistically, at night you can go to buildings and look inside, even though they may be a cheap-o JPEG sitting behind a window, detail was paid to it a little. Spidey looks incredible, up close you can really see the detail in the suit, and black suit spidey is a crazy blast to play. However, *(SPOILER)*

when you get towards the end, and you have to fight Venom and Sandman, Venom is not really a problem, as long as you keep him stunned. Sandman is a pain in the glutes when you take over as New Goblin, the sixaxis control is frustrating. Laying down while playing this part is almost impossible. And judging the bombs is all hands down frustrating for a casual gamer such as myself.

Final thought:

If time and attention were paid to this game it could truly have been incredible. I would have waited another 6 months to a year for a truly great Spiderman game rather than 3 mediocre ones. This game is fun, and if you are a Spidey-freak, definitley dont pass this one up. If you understand the history of film-game franchises give this one a rent. Other than that, pass this one by. Or pick up Rainbow six, or even the Darkness.

If you've never played the second Spider-man game than this one will work nicely with you. I on the other hand find it very much the same as Spider-man 2. Which is displeasing to me. They didn't really make the city larger. Theres no reason the city has to be the same size. On PS3 they could make the city 5 times larger than on PS2 because of the amount of space the Blue-Ray disc allow. Although they did add an underground subway system that doesn't need to stop and load. The city does look much better now, but it's just not enough. Every thing is the same with Spider-man even with the black suit. On the other hand some of the character models look like another said bug eyed or worse thing. They didn't take their time with this game it was rushed by he look at it. I was hoping they would bring back a move or tool from the first Spider-man game in which you could point and shoot yourself in the direction you want like a gun using target cross hairs.

I dislike that they have introduced two versions of the game on the PS3. It has confused a lot of people and made others mad because they cannot be the New Goblin.

To me this is the same repetitive event that happen from the first Spider-man to second game. When Spider-man the movie/game was made it was mostly inside fighting and in the air combat with the annoying "get near the ground and die" thing. Also it had many arcade inside Training system type things to do. The second one had a larger city you could walk around in minus some of the sub games. Although it did have a mini arcade with mini games. The differences are great and the point is that from this first Spiderman PS3 game to the next may be even more tremendous because they didn't really take anything out to add more of something else in for the third. So when they get it together and think more plus work harder there will be a great Spider-man 4. I know they didn't work very hard on this third one. The first two was worked on more. They just copy and pasted from the second game. On this Spider-man 3D modelers did more work, animators did less work, and all the rest was copied and it was still all together was less than the first two as far as actual labor. I know this because of the end result.

The PS3's first Spider-man game is under it's true potential.

Lastly it's just very boring to me and for 60 USD it wasn't worth the money. If it was at most 15 USD it would be alright.

I was disappointed and cannot gather how fun this game is considering it could be better. I give it low points based on the earlier work. Someone who hasn't ever played the past games might think more highly of it.

For serious fighting game fans, a decent stick is a key part of your arsenal. However, the parts and construction generally used to make up consumer-grade sticks, especially in the US where Arcades are more or less dead, have almost universally been of sub-par quality when compared to the real thing you find attached to arcade cabinets.

This makes sense, of course. Arcade components are designed to withstand full-scale assaults every day all day; it's a safe assumption that something bought for home use isn't going to go through the kind of abuse you'd expect an arcade machine to go through. On top of that, constructing something out of industrial-strength arcade parts ain't cheap. Who's going to pay over $100 for a game controller?

Well, as it turns out, a lot of people. Left with no other solution, fighter fans who want the genuine article have traditionally turned to simply making their own sticks. You buy the parts from a japanese manufacturer like Sanwa or Seimitsu, plot out where the holes are going to go on a chunk of wood, and drill and solder and screw your way to perfection. This approach, however, is expensive, time consuming, and requires some level of expertise to pull off correctly.

The other approach was to wait for a Japanese company to produce one of their factory sticks (usually in extremely limited numbers), put them up for sale in Japan, and pay through the nose to import. While this was a lot easier than buying your own parts, you always wound up paying some kind of premium. $200+ was not uncommon to own one of these things.

We're at the point now, however, where the industry has gotten large enough that you can just up and buy these things on Amazon.com now. My sincere recommendation, if you're at all interested in owning a stick, is that you bite the bullet and shell out the money for a good one. Once you pass a certain threshold in quality with these sticks, you enter the realm of specialized consumer electronics that are made to specifications without regard to your average user.

The HRAP3 is one such stick. This thing is designed from the ground up with the assumption that the only people who are going to buy it are serious connoisseurs, so damn the price, let's make it properly.

If you're not a SERIOUS serious stick person and are just getting into the swing of things, here's all you need to know: This is one of the best high-end sticks money can buy, and it will last you a decade or more. These are extremely durable, very responsive, and have a very well-defined functionality about them that you won't get from cheaper products. Yeah, they're expensive, but honestly? You're getting your money's worth and that will become apparent the instant you use this stick. Buy it, be happy.

As an aside, this stick has a USB lead and will also work with your PC out of the box (just hold the HOME button for 5 straight seconds upon plugging it in). This is absolutely perfect for emulators like MAME, or any other PC game you wish to play with an arcade stick.

That out of the way...

Okay, let's assume you're a serious stick person. Here's a more in-depth rundown:

The stick itself is a Sanwa with a square gate, and the buttons are all Hori. This isn't bad, but the good news is that they're all attached with a quick-detach lead and can be popped loose with a screwdriver easily, no solder required. If you want to go the serious route and swap the buttons for Sanwa and the stick for Seimitsu, this stick will let you do it pretty easily. Google has many picture tutorials to do this.

I replaced the gate with a Sanwa Octagon (I like Sanwa sticks but a lot of people prefer Seimitsu) and all the buttons with Sanwa. It took about 10 minutes and was completely painless.

If you do this, you have a stick that is officially on par with the Street Fighter IV TE stick (also made with all Sanwa parts) and the special import-only editions of the HRAP, but it is much cheaper to buy this one and do a little surgery than buy the factory-stock ones that come with Sanwa. This is a lovely medium ground between building your own and buying a factory made one; you get some level of customization, you're saving a little money, and you're still getting full-on arcade quality. Go for it.

I hope this review helped!

Street Fighter II HD Remix, and Street Fighter IV have fueled the fire for fighting games again and people are once again looking for a good quality stick. For the money, you can't beat this stick. All of you searching for an arcade quality joystick without breaking the bank can look here. The Hori Real Arcade Pros were easily over $120 in Japan so this is a bargain. It uses a Sanwa joystick which is one of the best if not the best quality joystick around. It uses buttons which are made by Hori which are a tad spongy to me, but the beauty of this stick id that you can easily swap them out for Sanwa or Seimetsu buttons if you want a true arcade unit in your home. Sanwas can take millions of presses.

For the average person, this stick will be more than fine, for the hardcore fighter, this stick will serve as a base for upgrading. Being a Japan stick, you get the ball type stick rather than the typical US baseball bat. WHen I first tried the ball type years ago, I didn't like it. Then I got used to it and it offers a bit more speed and control when playing fighters. I refuse to use anything but the ball type now. Buttons are arranged in the Japan curved arcade cabinet style which again, I prefer now compared to the straight button layout. Add turbo functions for shmups and you've got yourself a fine stick for the price. I personally also have the Sega Virtua Stick High Grades (available only through Japan imported) and those are all Sanwa with a 6 instead of 8 button layout. SImply the best. Second is the Hori here, and about $50 cheaper.

THose looking at the upcoming Street Fighter IV Mad Catz ones...I'm a little weary as Mad Catz doesn't exactly scream quality but supposedly they are all Sanwa Parts as well. I'd hold off until they are out. That and they are sixty dollars more than this. Avoid the cheaper SF IV ones, those are not made with arcade parts and your stick will most likely fail at some point.

Pros:

Curved button layout

Sanwa Japan style ball stick and convex style buttons

Hori quality

Upgradeable buttons

Price

Cons:

Hori Buttons (not a bad thing except for the most hardcore)

So Hori has finally made the Real Arcade Pro 3 available stateside, so no more costly importing!

Believe it or not, this is my first real Arcade Stick. I'm 25 years old and am just now getting into fighters properly. Street Fighter IV was a factor but It's also a genre I've always wanted to get into but never had enough confidence with my skill level nor had the neccessary tools.

So I've finally started to commit myself to develop the skill and understanding the rules for different titles as well as purchasing said tools!

This Arcade Stick is highly regarded for it's build and quality. True as others have stated, it doesn't have the infamous Sanwa Buttons that the special Japan Amazon Edition had or the upcoming (now sold out) SFIV Tournament Stick have, but this is irrelevant at this point to me. I'm just learning and the buttons here are more than good enough.

As listed, it's is USB corded (not wireless), which is about 10ft in length. It's fine for my household though I had to buy an additional USB extension cord for like $3 as I sit about 13ft away from my Tele.

The great thing about it is that it double as a PC stick, so you MAME enthusiasts out there are good to go! I've gone back and started playing the Street Fighter Alpha series as well as SFIII: 3rd Strike. Not to mention it's fun to go and play around with ol' Neo Geo classics like Metal Slug (it's got a turbo function), KoF, Samurai Showdown, etc...

Whether it's in your lap or sitting on a counter or table, it's fantastic and comes highly recommended!

The HRAP 3 is a great stick right out of the box. It has a Sanwa JLF joystick straight from the Japanese arcades and Hori buttons. The only downside to the joystick is the Hori Buttons. They're not very good for fighters (like Street Fighter 3) and feel cheap. Luckily Hori added quick disconnects and you can easily buy new buttons and swap them out with extremely little knowledge. Build quality is great and it has a good weight to it. It works easily and seamlessly with the Playstation 3 and the PC. Just plug it in and it's good to go.

Highly recommended.

There is a drought for arcade sticks, especially with the release of Street Fighter IV. My local game store doesn't have any, and the only ones they do carry when they do have them in, are the Mad Catz ones. Not the Tournament Edition (TE) either. This arcade stick has the exact same size of the Tekken 5 Ultimate Collector's edition for those of you that have that. The only difference is the button layout on the Real Arcade Pro (RAP) is that of traditional Japanese arcade boards. It's not bad in any way, just that it takes time to get acquainted with it.

I've read reviews of this being a "clunky" joystick, which was very surprising as it has Sanwa parts for the joystick unit (Sanwa is the premier arcade parts developer in the world). I suspected that these individuals had never been in an actual arcade. When I got the stick it was like I thought, because the stick is just like the arcades I grew up on. The buttons, however are not Sanwa buttons...to me though, I prefer the Hori buttons. Although Sanwa is reported to have better response, I can't stand the clicking of their buttons (if you depress the button, it will click). For the hard core, you can buy the Sanwa buttons and install them if your at all technically savy (still making it cheaper than the TE by Mad Catz). And as for the reports of the RAP being defective, I've not had a problem at all with mine for over a month.

After a month of research, I concluded this was the arcade stick for me. I trust Hori, it wasn't as expensive as the import version, and anything "better" was outrageously more expensive. Take it from an arcade rat from the 90's, this is the right arcade stick for your fighting games. I've had five friends buy it and they all love it as well.

High Moon did a great job with Transformers WFC.I still play it to this day. I had high hopes for Transformers DOTM.The game felt rushed. The animations seem choppy and glitchy. They walk around like they're floating sometimes. A lot of elements are the same but simplified not in a good way. For instance special abilities are only for specific characters. the drain ability is only specific to Megatron.

The environments are nothing new, just frustrating at times. Its not a bad game, it can be fun at times. I was just hoping for WFC with the Bay-Formers style. I would rent this before dishing out $60.

Oh and one last thing. I dont know why theres no reviews on the game. did they pay everyone off not to give it a bad review on opening weekend? IGN,GAMESPOT, no one reviewed this game. I feel like a guinea pig for buying it the first day it was out.

Pros: Controls much better than the 1st two Transformers games. Easy to maneuvor, esp. in vehicle mode. Have multiplayer and room for customization & upgrades. Able to use & play a few different characters. Easy to upgrade levels in multiplayer (I played Commander for ~3 hrs and been able to upgrade to highest lvl 20 vs. it takes forever to upgrade in games like COD: MW2 and Battlefield BC1 & 2).

Cons: Short game with only 7 chapters (I rented it from Redbox for the weekend & as an average gamer I finished it in easy mode in abt 6 hrs). Story is average, especially ending (as it probably didn't want to spoil the movie). Graphics is average. No open world, can't climb buildings and environments not destructible. Some glitches that froze my campaign mode 2-3 times, multiplayer mode ~2 times. Also suddenly lost connection 5-7 times during multiplayer games that are not related to my network.

I have the first two Transformers PS3 games and were very disappointed at them because it was so hard to defeat the spinning robots and timed even at easy mode so I was stuck and never moved beyond that. So this one I've found it enjoyable to be able to easily maneuvor my unit. I really don't like to shoot using R2 button and I strongly think that R1 makes so much more sense for the index finger and we can't change it. It also makes sense to have the Drain special ability used only by Megatron (tied well to the story). I still haven't figured out which weapon and why someone in multiplayer mode can easily kill me with one or two shots when most the time I have to shoot 5-6+ even though it seems like it hit.

I very much hope to have a Transfomers game with much more decent graphics such as those in COD & Battlefield. I think it'll really blast people off had the company invested more in that and make this more of an open world and destrutible environment. The new Battlefield 3 from the trailer really set a new high bar in many of those areas. That'll be my wish list.

Overall this is still an enjoyable game, but I don't think it's worth $60. I usually buy games at $20 and even then I was very glad that I just spend $2.15 to have rented this and even able to finish it and played some multiplayer in 2 days.

I thought that this game would be more fun than it was. I've played through the other 2 Transformers movie games and they were much more enjoyable to play than this one. I found the controls odd and irritating. The movement when in car/truck mode was a hassle and the weapons controls were also annoying both in robot & car/truck mode. Overall this game was not very fun for me. Of course this is just my opinion based on my own gaming preferences. The graphics and sound were pretty good, it was just the gameplay that I didn't like.

Amazon kept sending me emails to review this product, well here my review. Basically the controller feels like a XBox 360 controller, but that is the only good part about this controller if you like 360 controllers. When it arrived it didn't work. The clip that holds the battery pack in didn't hold it. If you give the controller a shake the pack goes flying. I had to stretch out the batttery coils just to get it to power up. Once it started working, I had to download an update from my PC, just so I could sync the controller to my PS3. The USB cable that was in the package was a little thicker than dental floss and didn't work, had to use a different cable to update and sync. More than half of the advertised features don't work. I tried to contact Datel Support, to try and figure out why the features didn't work, it's been more than month and still haven't received a response. I can't even say that this is a good cheap controller because it costs as much as an official Sony controller. If you want a headache, a controller that you will need to use tape to hold the battery pack in place,or a controller that isn't going to work right out of the package, then this is a controller for you. If not stay away from Datel controllers.

The instructions that come with the device are pretty vague (inadequate), you must download a more complete manual.

The software (download that also) is very easy to use.

However, be aware that until you PAIR this device with your PS3 only a DATEL LOGO will appear in the LCD.

To Pair (first time only)

Your PS3 must be on. Hold down the 'PS' button on the DATEL EVO for about 3 seconds.

Now you can start the PS3 via the PS button just like the standard controller.

Testing this is Sniper mode pretty cool however the controls even in the fast mode are not as responsive as a standard Sony sixaxis.

I'll post more as I experience this unit.

I bought this controller from Datel's website. Upon recieving the controller i was very frustrated with it. The screen would just flicker and couldnt get anything to work. Well, the first thing to do was I downloaded the user manual from the website and the PC program "PS3 Evo Customizer" When I pluged the controller into the PC the program said there was a firmware update, I did that and that got rid of the screen flickering and any other issues I have had with it.

This controller has ALOT of features and the PC program allows you to drag and drop new features into it. I also have a modded factory Sony PS3 controller and I would recommend that to anyone before this one, however it is a good controller and I really like the button remapping and thumbstick tweaking for sniper use. This looks ALOT like XBox's MW3 controller as well but alittle more chunkier. Overall I would recommend this but it will never beat a modded factory PS3 controller, BUT! I've used alot of 3rd party contollers and this is by far the best I have used. As a bonus, you can even use the Microsoft XBox 360 Battery pack in this as well.

The bag isn't very sturdy and it doesnt have much padding. I didnt want to take a chance traveling with my PS3 in this cheaply made bag. I had a feeling that the price for this bag was too good to be true. The PS3 Backpack isnt much of an alternative either because it is overpriced and it doesnt offer much better quality. I returned the bag to Amazon for a refund. I finally bought a nice sturdy military style messenger laptop bag to transport my PS3 with sturdy handles and a strong shoulder strap. This worked out perfectly for my trip. It was nice to not have to worry about whether the handles or strap would tear off or break.

Purchase the back pack for PS3 instead of the Multi Function Carry Bag. This bag is not sturdy enough for the weight of the PS3 game maachine. We are on our second bag, but only because we didn't see the backpack before purchasing this one.

I would not recommend this bag. One star is too much for the bag.

Would like to return this one.

The turbo feature works great, but the sensitivity of the controller is no where near as good as the stock controller. Makes it very hard to aim in shooter type games. I've since stopped using it, and its now collecting dust.

I ignored the low rankings this controller has had, thinking that people must have just received lemons, but mine didn't work either. Could never get the wireless USB to connect with the controller. By the time I paid for shipping back and forth, it cost me more than the controller. If you do find a great turbo controller though, let the rest of us know!!

let me get to the point:

pros

1) If you owned an X Box then you decided to go out and buy a PS3 this controller "Might" come as a blessing as it is similar in size to the X Box controller

cons

1) the turbo settings are useless, so if you think the turbo is going to give you an edge in online gaming ( COD, Warhawk) think again, expect to be very dissapointed

2) this is not bluetooth device like your standard controller you will use a USB port

3) the sticks feel really stiff and even after adjusting the sensitivity to the most sensitive they still are stiff and annoying

in short save your money, this product is crap
