I keep hearing how the PS3 is largely void of role-playing games and that the genre is ignored in favor of more popular shooters. While the latter might be somewhat true, games like Eternal Sonata prove that quality RPGs are on the PS3.

For a longtime RPG fan Eternal Sonata is a bit of a strange game at least in the sense that I've never quite played a game like it before. First, the setting takes place in Europe in the 1800's and revolves around the pianist Frederic Chopin. The game is part tribute to Chopin and part fantasy. In the game Chopin has fallen ill and in his unconscious state creates a dream world. This is where the player will spend the majority of their time.

In the dream world people who can use magic are all terminally ill non magic users are rightfully terrified of those with magical abilities. Set in a land called Forte with a ruler named Count Waltz the game introduces a rag tag group of characters each with their own motivations for change. Eventually the characters will form an alliance and rise against the forces threatening their world. Periodically the game will shift back to "reality" where Chopin lies ill and introduce brief historical highlights of Chopin's life.

Because the obvious musical influence music plays a large part in the game. Each of the characters in named after various musical influences, additionally the player will collect pieces of "set pieces" of musical scores that combined with NPCs can net the player special items. The soundtrack to the game itself is brilliant and one of the best musical scores I've ever heard in a video game.

Combat is an interesting mix of action and turn-based. The player is given an action gauge in which you have a set amount of time to perform your attacks. Attacks are broken down to physical attacks, item based attacks or special attacks. Each successful hit builds a combo meter that when unleashed with a special attack causes more damage. Build up the combo meter enough and you can unleash a special animation with your attack.

An interesting twist to the combat is that as you progress in the game the combat mechanics level up too. This serves to both increase the difficulty and your party's abilities. For example when you start the game the action meter only counts down when you're moving on the combat map and executing attacks. Stand still and the meter will stop. This allows for a new player to take time and think actions out beforehand without pressure. Later the time meter will not only give you less time to act but also start counting down from the moment you take your first step and won't stop until the timer runs out. On the other hand your "item bag" where you store items to use in combat will upgrade from the initial 10 points (each item has a point value) to 20 points and eventually more. I found this a very refreshing take on combat!

The graphics themselves are amazing. Eternal Sonata is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Some might be disappointed at the 720p resolution of the game. But let me put those fears aside this game is gorgeous from the get-go.

If I had to pick a few things I don't like about the game it would easily have to be the voice overs and very linear gameplay. Not all the voice overs are bad, some are actually quite good. However, certain characters Polka have such childish voices and mannerisms that it's near unbearable. The good news is that the game does feature the ability to turn on the Japanese voice overs and play the game with English subtitles.

The linear gameplay, well love it or hate, it's different for everyone. Personally I've love the ability to explore the amazing world of Eternal Sonata on my own terms rather than follow and linear path. But I understand not every game is about massive exploration.

File Eternal Sonata under "overlooked gem". Don't be one of those players that passes up on the game because it's a port of the X360 original or is turned of by the look. Eternal Sonata is worthy of any RPG-lovers time.

3.5/5 (Rounded up, It's a story thing) Imagine a fantasy fan-fic of Chopin's dying days. You might imagine something along the lines of Eternal Sonata...but it's not likely. Its seems to me like what might come of a less successful collaboration between Tri-Ace and Level 5. It's an action-y JRPG. It has a Level 5 look and sound to it. I'll try and be concise.

I enjoyed the game. The world and characters are colorful and beautifully cell-shaded. The cast is also cute and mostly kid-friendly even by conservative standards just the occasional "damn" in there, some sparkly violence, and your run of the mill maniacal bad guy wanting to rule the world. You'll solve a few puzzles and the battle system has a fun, beat 'em up combo, timed, turn-based style. Your attacks and spells also change, as assigned by you, according to whether you are standing in shade or light. As the game progresses, your "Party Level" will increase making battle slightly more difficult. A couple of fun little anomalies in this style. The game is broken up into chapters and each one comes with a song and a bit of Chopin's story. I was glad to see a game try to encourage musical enrichment. It offers secret dungeons later in the game and a New Game + feature after you've beaten it to replay the game with your party level (not character levels) in tact and a couple of secrets inaccessible the first play through. These features see an increase in difficulty of combat and a few more puzzles.

On the other hand, coming from someone who doesn't blink at, sometimes laughs at, the more mature content of many/most games, gamers who don't enjoy anything with mega-blok (it is spelled that way) edges may want to avoid this game. I meant the bit about being kid-friendly. The characters speak rather slowly and everything is overly dramatic. In the world of JRPG's that's just something that comes with the territory. You might enjoy it at times but roll your eyes at others. It is a very linear game. If you want something sandbox-like, this is not your game. Although I wouldn't call the game hard, the battles can sometimes prove a little challenging for experienced gamers, especially some of the bosses and more so in Encore mode (though nothing like the shock of Star Ocean's Gabriel Celeste or Ethereal Queen).

Now, story-wise I must say it's not so great. It's convoluted and kind of confusing. The characters are your basic cookie-cutter archetypes. You probably won't play for story unless the words "save the world" still do it for you or you are one of our younger or younger-hearted gamers (Which is fine, of course. Along with a lot of other users, I guess I'm just a little too jaded to be able to enjoy it as much).

If you've played Dark Cloud 1 or 2, the Star Ocean series, or Rogue Galaxy a few things might resonate with your memories of them (Though I honestly think I enjoyed all of those titles a little more than this.)

Ultimately, I enjoyed the game. It has a nice, innocent energy about it. The world and characters are pretty and colorful. The music is Chopin or Chopin inspired and sounds great with the option to listen from the camp menu. You get to learn a little bit about him. You can skip cut-scenes if you don't care about the story. It has replay value with Encore mode and extra little goodies. It lacks trophies on PS3 (though it also comes with a couple of characters not on the Xbox 360 version). It's not expensive. It's a cute JRPG. I didn't love it, but I did like it. If you've made it far enough to read this, try it. You've not got much to lose and you might enjoy it.

Extremely disappointed. Freezes my ps3 after 2nd swing on tiger woods pga tour 14 using a brand new ps2 controller.

Especially if you have the Backwards Compatible PS3, this cord makes it very simple to expand your PS3's capabilities using the stuff you already have leftover from when you had a PS2. I even had a Multitap I had purchased back in '01 (to play Twisted Metal: Black) connected to this converter, then attached three PS2 controllers in the slots of the multitap, eliminating the need to ever have to use more than one of these things. For only a few bucks, it's definitely worth it. Even if you don't have PS2 controllers already, you can get at least 3 of them (new or used) for around the price of one PS3 controller here on Amazon. The PS2 controller works fine even with most PS3 games (excluding, of course, those that require six-axis and other motion functions). I did, however, have trouble when trying to use a mix of 2 (PS2 & PS3) controllers each. You have to use the PS3 ones to "Reassign Controller slots" and move them around first to do that. Hope this helps!

When I got my PlayStation Move bundle I figured I was all set until I realized that charging two Dual Shock controllers and all of my Move equipment from one USB charger was going to be too much to keep everything properly charged. I went on the search for a charging dock and ran across some of the bigger name brands that ranged from $14 $25. Luckily, I found this for only a fraction of the price of the others on the market. The USB cord that's included can be connected from any USB port, which is double ended, I will explain that a bit more later. and ran into the charging dock, which snugly holds the controllers into the sunks as they charge. A blue ring lights up around the charger to indicate it's working, which also looks very stylish. Back to the double ended USB cord, about midway of the cord, it splits in half and the end that's doubled is the side that goes into the charging source, so it's the big end and doesn't really help charge any of the Move controllers, but the four ports available are enough to do what I need. So far, I've had no problem with getting them to charge and would recommend this product to anyone who needs to charge more than one Move controller simultaneously.

Guitar hero is finally back! This game has taken me to back in the day when Guitar hero was king. Before it lost out to rock band. The game play is right back on par and and I've really enjoyed the new features added to this version including the ability to slide and hammer on notes. Much more realistic to actual guitar playing.

Pros:

*Music: Some great old school classics (including Phish,Santana, and Bon Jovi) mixed with current pop hits, great for all ages.

Cons:

The only slightly negative thing I would have to say is that they haven't brought down the price of the downloadable content yet. They should group more of them together for less money. Because I don't want to pay $20 for 10 new songs.

Ps3 Online Multi-player makes it difficult to find people on the network.

Overall a good buy and a great addition to the guitar hero family.

All the new features and setlist are what make this game amazing.

I was really getting tired of RB/GH Releasing the same thing over and over again with new songs, almost no new features, and the same tired note charts. Guitar Hero 5 changes everything. Completely redesigned interface that makes you feel like you can NEVER press a wrong button. You can switch modes within modes, go directly online from within modes, and even pull up your friends list from a new in-game menu (on PlayStation Network) and send network invites. The only thing I hate about this is, they took away the XMB friends list (it'd be equal to pulling up the Xbox Live invite list) for their own friends screen which doesn't sort by whether your friend is on/offline and whether they are playing Guitar Hero 5 or not. It's kind of crappy. However, it does let you see their Rocker Card for friends who've played the game.

That's probably the only complaint I have about the game. Everything else is prestine and adds a new funky freshness to the genre. Rock Band 3 is already trying to copy the new and improved music studio adding in their own thing. You can know use RB2 cymbals in GH5, which used to cause an error on previous games. You can import GHWT, GHSH, GHVH, and BH into Guitar Hero 5 and all your GHWT DLC except for Jimi Hendrix.

Updated note charts for RB drum players, too. You now use green for a cymbal and yellow isn't only for hi-hat anymore and velocity sensitivity has been added in for RB2 drums, also.

As someone who has not purchased many digital "things," I was skeptic of the Playstation Network that came with my brand new Playstation 3. Hence, I went for the 3-month card instead of the 12-month card. The first day after I put in the code, I got a copy of Sam and Max season 3, a 35 dollar value, for free, because it was the Playstation Plus game of the month. Wowzers.

The bad: Buying free games with the Playstation Plus cards are actually rentals of said games. If I got a free game on the same day that I got my 3-month Playstation Plus card, it's actually a 3-month rental of the game, that could be extended from a 3 months rental to a 15 months rental if I buy a 12 month Playstation Plus card (50 bucks) in the next three months. If I bought another 12 months, say, 12 months from now, the "due dates" for these rentals would extend another 12 months, turning rentals into pretty much the same as a purchase. Games bought with a 1 to 99 percent discount in the Playstation Plus store don't expire when your Playstation Plus card expires, so that's good. The discount applies to a handful of games every month, all of them popular and worth a look.

The good: You get several games picked out of a hat for you per month. What you get:

-one playstation 3 game per month, in the 15-35 dollar range, for free. For me, the games are always at least decent, at best highly addictive.

one playstation 1 game per month, worth 6 bucks in the playstation store, for free. These are usually popular, such as Spyro, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, etc. In the last 6 months, only one has been lame (Crash Team Racing).

two Playstation "minis", which are video games worth 2-3 bucks in the playstation store, for free. You get about 1-10 hours of fun from these, depending on how addicted you are.

a medley of free things: playstation 3 themes, wallpapers, avatars, exclusive beta testings, and sometimes an extra free game. The NHL center ice player is free, but it costs over a hundred bucks to get a season pass.

Several video game companies will give you the same discount on the same game every month.

Several discounts on an ever-changing assortment of video games every month. This is the best part. I've spent a 20 dollar playstation card every month picking up these goodies. These cards have saved me over a hundred dollars in video games from these discounts.

So basically, twelve months of this nets you about 200 bucks worth of video games that you would like for free. There's always tons of discounts on top of this, usually 50 percent off something popular.

If you purchase anything from a discount, you still have it if your playstation plus account expires. The discounted games appear to be picked at random and are different every month.

I'm giving this 4 stars because the 12 month card is clearly a better bang for your buck, and I wish I got that instead. A+

Edit 2012: As of E3 2012 PS1 games and minis have been discontinued as mandatory benefits, making this service nonsense for anybody who owns a PlayStation Portable but not the Playstation 3. Minis could continue to come out at a very slow pace but PS1 games are done. It appears that in most months now THREE bonus PS3/PSN games appear. Also, the benefits now include soundtracks to to Datura and Starhawk but with no easy path to find them through the PlayStation store. There's more DLC out there that are discounted towards PlayStation Plus members, and a library of 60 minute free trials to disk-based games.

Playstation Plus is a paid service that is OPTIONAL for users of the Playstation Network. The service provides users with discounts, free games, online storage and much more that I will outline below. The offered digital Playstation Plus subscription code is a safe alternative for users who do not Own, or wish to give their credit card to Sony, or use Playstation Network Cash cards.

COST

There are currently two models of subscription; 3mo @ $17.99 or ~$6.00/mo and 12mo @ $49.99 or ~4.17/mo. Obviously the best deal is the 12mo offer. **This card gives you a 3mo subscription**

ADVANTAGES

Every month the Playstation Store will have featured products available for Playstation Plus users. This often amounts to at least one free "featured" game offered per month, as well as various other free titles.

Playstation plus holders will also receive special discounts on select items, which changes every month. The price reduction can be anywhere from 10% to 75% off an item or package deal.

Exclusive features! Automatic Download service to keep all your games up-to-date without physically having to launch the title. 150MB of online data storage for your save game files or data files (You can even back up copy-restricted saves)

FULL GAME TRIALS. That is right folks. On the boarder about that new title that just came out. Playstation Plus members get a "full game trial". It acts as if you physically bought the game and allows you 1 full hour of game play before disabling itself.

Early access! As a Plus member you will receive early access to game demos and be given priority when it comes to specific Beta invite handouts, Plus members are first to get access.

Free Plus themes and avatars. Not exactly amazing but who doesn't love free stuff!

DISADVANTAGES

As a playstation plus member you have access and perks from all the above. HOWEVER if you do not renew your subscription things can get a little complicated.

*** Any Playstation PLUS item you received that was *FREE* such as a featured game, or maybe an avatar/theme will become "disabled" upon expiration of your PLUS subscription.

*** Any Item you had to physically pay for, even if it had a special PLUS discount of 99% will not be disabled upon expiration of your subscription

So what it amounts to, anything FREE you get from PLUS is really more of a long term rental as long as you are PS+, while items you pay for even with a discount will always be yours.

OVERALL

The playstation plus plan is not for everyone. However it is a plan that rewards its subscribers with plenty of perks and loads of content each month. If you think about it, at $4-$6/mo and a free $10-$15 game each month in theory the subscription pays for itself each month, not even factoring in all the other perks like the free full game demos. While the $17.99 card is not the best deal, it makes a great card to experience Playstation PLUS for 3 months without laying out too much money.

The Sharpshooter can now be had for $20. at Gamestop and has a lot more features then this! I got this because my Gamestop told me that the Sharpshooter was $40. however it was mislabeled and it came up in the computer later at $20. I used this for Modern combat 3 and Killzone 3 and for Modern combat 3(Not to be confused with Modern warfare 3) it was impossible to use because there were no ways of getting at the PS Move buttons where as the sharp shooter has the buttons remapped closer to your hand. For Killzone 3 you can use the shake to reload and thrust to melee but this causes your guy to make weird motions and get you killed. It's not bad for rail shooters but that's not what it was meant for and the sharp shooter can do that better to! So just get the sharpshooter because if you get this you will be very disappointed.

The game was decent to say at the very least but it was ordinary and like any other third person shooter with a bland story and repetitive gameplay. You are basically in the same surroundings throughout the whole entire gameplay with a snow environment and shoot what appears in front of you to get to your mission objective and get to your next location. The graphics were ordinary and nothing special. I recommend that you wait for a price drop before buying the game because a full price for this game is not worth it. It plays similarly to Dead Space 3 except the shooting and character movements are less stiff but it really doesn't feel any different than your typical shooter games. If you feel like playing a new game or you're bored, I'd rather rent it than buy it with a price like this.

i'm sorry i got this.i thought naively it would be like lp2.well it's all about the big bucks right gameindustry?

you guys are going to make things so that every game is going to seem the same as the others because that's what your damn info-gathering and market-targeting numbers demand.

when i found out there is no campaign co-op i was disgusted. somebody important and of course more knowledgeable than us guinea pigs shouted"LETS MAKE THIS LIKE THOSE OTHER GAMES THAT ARE REALLY SELLING". and so now we have lost planet 3 made to be like dead space or mass effect.and the same thing is happening to other games so that they can be more like the other games-over and over.

it's sad but trying to talk sense into the people in charge is useless-they know what's best right?

-i guess i'll sell it soon and maybe go back to lp2 or some old rpgs.

i apologize for the negative tone-it's not like me,but imaginative and creative games are something i really like to enjoy but all i see now is the homogenization of game design to maximize $$$ for the companies.

-but alas aren't there a zillion kids who want the next game to be just like ((fill in the blank)but it has to have sold tons)

-i guess i'm also a little kid who just wanted more and more of lost planet 2.

i think i'll read "steppenwolf" instead of turning on the the game console now.

This game is really fun (I haven't finished it) for those who don't get scared easily. Things just jump out at you in this game, which is the main factor in DANGEROUS Hunts :)

Tip: The hunter sense is first set up for Top Shot (for me it was) so I had to switch it to classic.

The Galleries are super fun! Especially classic mode, which is very similar to those shooting games in bars and arcades. They also have survival, treck, etc.

Storymode (so far) is also really fun. Very compelling storyline. It's not just go hunt a wolf or a bear or a lion. There's an even bigger predator in this game. I have no idea what it is! But it makes me want to keep playing and find out.

since I do not have top shot elite or Move. All I have is the basic wireless PS3 controller so playing is slightly more frustrating. I had to increase the sensitivity so it would react faster.

I'm kinda obsessive about graphics, and I have to say, in this game they really worked on making the animals fightening. (which is good)

Basically, Dangerous Hunts 2011 is fun, scary, compelling, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The only real problem I have, is the controls which take a little while to get used to.

I highly recommend buying this for anyone who has enjoyed previous Cabela games!

An awesome mans' man game where you can lay waste to Bambi and friends!! I actually bought this because I had to get the Singstar game and didn't want to appear unmanly to the store clerks and fellow customers..!!

Seriously though, this is a great shoot-em-up alternative to the other PS Move-enabled shooting games out there, where you shoot cardboard bandits or robots...

The shooting gallery part is awesome manly fun, with the 80s rock soundtrack, scurrying critters and awesome sound effects... It almost reminds me of the old carnival shooting gallery games, only this time with live animals!

The adventure game, despite its mediocre graphics and its sometimes inconsistent rails-shooter feeling is surprisingly engaging. Gameplay centers around hunting, which Cabela Hunting fans should love.

This is actually a neat little FPS for the PS Move as you also have to use a direction controller (you can also use Sixaxis controller with the PS Move for this). You also have to wave the PS Move around to avoid animal attacks..! Minuses though You have to keep the PS Move within the cameras eyeshot all the time or the game will stop.. which means you have to calibrate it so that you dont have to hold it up during the long dramatic man's man story sequences and tire yourself out...

Buy Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 Now

It is a fun game and I enjoyed it, at least for a little while. With only 18 story missions and 4 different guns, I felt it was a little short. I don't think it's a bad game, just not as good as the previous versions of Dangerous Hunts. Since it is not that expensive I would suggest trying it if you like these kind of games.

Read Best Reviews of Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 Here

A lot to improve in graphics, but you know that not all in a game are this point. Nothing new for a FPS game. But, this is the only kind of game where you can really experience hunting.

The Africa environment is incredible and very fun to keep looking for avoiding snakes on the road. You can experience a Hippopotamus attack on a river, alligators and lions. The move controller without a rifle is terrible, you must own a rifle to fully enjoy the move control or avoid using it.

I just have 2011 edition and I don't like the gallery type of games so I don't know if there is a more recent edition with such rich story line.

I'm just now getting around to writing a review on this skin, over two years after purchasing it. It has held up well, much better than I would have expected. I am always setting controllers and stuff on top of my PS3 and after a couple years it hasn't scratched or peeled at all. They were simple to install and are very high quality.

This skin looks amazing! The colors are very vivid, and don't look cheap like I had expected. The different pieces of the skin flow together perfectly if installed correctly. The cutouts for buttons and stuff are precise. All of the edges are still intact without showing ANY signs of wear. This is indeed for the old school "FAT" unit... so if you don't know what I'm talking about in regards to multiple skin pieces you probably have the slim one. Either way, this high quality skin is sweet!

Works flawlessly, as good as OEM dual shock PS3 controllers. I wish the USB blue tooth connector were smaller, but that is my only complaint.

I've very troubled by many gaming journalists and top reviewers for some of the major on-line gaming magazines. Apparently, Start the Party was not much of a game for them, It's as if they reviewed this with 16 year old Call of Duty fans in mind. Come on folks, lighten up and have some fun.

While Sports Champions is without a doubt the strongest launch title for the PS3 Move, there's no denying that Start the Party has plenty of charm and some kick-ass augmented reality effects. Matter of fact, it's the best "show off" game of the bunch. Yes, there are only so many mini games you will take part of before they get repeated, but there are difficulty settings and various modes to break things up. This is not the kind of game you lock yourself in a room with and play through out the night. You invite some friends/family in front of the large screen TV and laugh your butt off! I'm sorry, but watching yourself on live feed holding various in-game items is absolutely eye popping hilarious. The mini games are actually quite fun, and technically make any WarioWare micro game look fossilized. Both young and old will have a blast; the very young will be hypnotized by the visuals, and teens will probably have fun but won't dare admit it (the sorry state of adolescent males).

This is a fun game to play with our kids (age 4 & 7). They all enjoyed the game and we certainly enjoyed playing it with them. This is the best PS3 game that I've found that allows us to play a game as a family. The games are varied, but easy to pick up. It would be nice to have more games, but as of right now it is not too repetitive. I'm also not sure how much we'd be playing this game if it was only adults playing. But all in all, a very entertaining family game and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a light-hearted, not too intense game to play with your children.

i don't own the full game but i have the demo and this is the favorite move game for everyone! im buying it since we keep playing the demo over and over which only has 3 different types of party games to it. Also after playing this game my friends canceled their xbox 360 kinect motion controller bundles pre-order! kinect seems interesting but you cant fake the precision a controller gives you while playing video games, especially one like the Move!

I went and picked this up today and I was hesitant at first due to the bad reviews it got, but I took a chance. Well lets say I can see why they call it Start the PARTY, it's definetley a party game. I only played by myself, but I thought it was fun. I understand it's geared towards kids and I'm 26 but I like it. I love how they put a tool actually in your hand, they overlap the actual move controller with a paintbrush or flashlight or fan etc. This game is cool because you see yourself on screen with the various tools you get to use. I honestly think this game could be a huge hit with my buddies and I while drinking some beers, it's competitive and goofy and will surely put smiles on your faces. I'll update after I have people over but so far I'm loving this title, I can really see kids having a blast with this more than me obviously.

I got myself PS3 Move edition and was left feeling that the Move games were not all that exciting after all. Sports Champs are ok, but noone in my family was drawn in. We do play on PS3 a lot (between myself, my wife, and our 7 y.o. son), but it's been non-Move games. I read the reviews here and was a little bit put off by the number of negative or lukewarm reviews. One day, though, we had friends over and all our kids were running around and screaming a little bit much, so I wanted something that would keep them all occupied and in place ordered this game. All I can say is that it worked out perfectly over the holidays!

The game is kinda fun if you play on your own, but you probably wouldn't play it for more than 10 mins. With a group of people, though, it's a completely different experience. Trying to outcompete your friends adds a lot more purpose and excitement to the game. The best thing is that it appeals almost equally to all ages and sexes both boys and girls were playing, ages 6 through 13 I can imagine few activities where these kids would all be involved together. (The adults looked on with great interest too, but the kids were having too much fun and we let them play). And you can actually set the difficulty level for each player separately, so you can even out the chances of winning pretty well. The game also has a nice mix of games and modes of play, so that you can play for a couple of hours and you don't get bogged down. It's very fast-paced and exciting.

Actually, after all of the holiday parties we decided to play as a family. We played 3 games (something like 20 rounds) over an hour-plus and had a blast. With the difficulty levels appropriately set, each game was very competitive and each one of us ended up winning one game. My wife and I both ended up playing so hard that our arms hurt the next day. :)

To sum up, this is not a game a lot of people would play by themselves. However, if you are having a party, this is the game to have. I cannot imagine a better game for such a setting no prior skills required! Well worth the money.

The sling pack: is full sized and while it may be a bit stiff, it will come in handy. The cell phone holder on the front band is removeable too. It fits enough for one overnighter (pants, shirt, etc.). Looks like you could fit a 3 liter soda bottle inside of it. Oddly, that what it looks like full!

The RED soundtrack: Definitely background soundtrack music. If you're one of those into movie soundtracks or an experimental/ambient/downtempo DJ, this might be for you. Hints of industrial vibes to it. It does come as a download you install, but once that's done you can copy it to a removeable memory stick and move them to your preferred listening device. 22 tracks @ 256kbps mp3 quality.

The comic: a bit of what happened before he got his powers and what happened after. If you look around, you might be able to find this as jpeg type download.

The extras: are nice for those of us who don't really care for the way the "amp" looks (or Cole's new look).

The UGC: User Generated Content can be a trip. People providing their own mini missions. Some go from basic grinding wires and racing through rings to crazy climbing or straight up destruction/survival situations. Options on this allows you to pick certain types or shut them off completely.

The game itself is more detailed than the first, but it's still goes only to 720p max : (

(was hoping it would be 1080)

Movement has been cleaned up. On the first Infamous, Cole wouldn't walk down onto smaller things/steps or up onto a stairwell sometimes. Cole seems more natually responsive this time around, more fluid. The problem with him "sticking" to things you don't want him too doesn't seem to be here in #2.

Other than some of the 720/pixel moments, the only other thing that bothers me about this is Cole's voice. This time he's more nasal-ly and higher pitched. Keeps throwing me off after I had JUST finished playing the first inFamous and he sounds raspy and deeper!!

One cool thing to find was when I started the game, it asked me if I would like to pick up from 1 of the 2 save points FROM my Infamous 1 game! I tried both my good and evil saves and it gave me the same for each. It gave me 3 bonuses! It started you off already in 1st karma rank, gave you some XP and extra power cells!!! Now that was nice!

If you're a fan of the first, this is sure to please.

UPDATE:

So it took me a week to finish it with good karma. Seemed like the little guys were tougher than the bosses. I'm on hard now on the evil karma side and it's kicking my butt! One rocket or two bullets and you are done. Be prepared to die....A LOT.

Zeke looks A LOT better in this one, more detailed. The banter between the two girls and Cole is fun too. Like the first inFamous, choices aren't only made during the red or blue missions, but sometimes during the main missions too. So you have the nice girl to do things with....or the naughty one (hehe). Cole seems to have a bit more of an attitude too, this adds to the fun. Also, the surround sound on this is awesome. Love the little things people say about you as you walk down the street. But watch out! On the evil mission those people will join in to try to get you too as you're fighting others!

All in all it's not better or worse than the first. There is good things about it that are better than the first, and some bad things. But i'm still glad I bought it.

So there's a few only things I don't like about it now. One, the slo-mo when you get hit. Too often another hit will happen while in slo-mo and you're done, start mission over. Annoying. Also, about 3 three times now i've gotten stuck/glitched into inside of a building or train and couldn't get out. Had to save and re-load. 3 or more times i've gotten stuck inbetween things and couldn't move or died from being squashed over something ridicious. From one of those wooden walkways to a bad jump between a wall and something else, errr. The sticking thing I mentioned before, well sometimes he doesn't stick to things now. Sometimes you'll jump to land on a wire that going from roof to roof and just go right through it.

The whole thing seemed to go by a little quick, but it was worth it. I really don't see how they could do a 3rd, but only time will tell......

*** GAME REVIEW ***

infamous 2 has a pretty big set of shoes to fill after the success of the first. It seemed like it would be hard to improve upon the mechanics of the first game. Yet Sucker Punch studios managed to find a way, and produce a worthy sequel to Infamous.

GAMEPLAY

If you have played Infamous then you will feel right at home with Infamous 2. Not much has changed gameplay wise from the original except for loads of polish. Your character will keep his powers, avoiding a Metroid or God of War scenario, and earn additional powers throughout the game. Climbing mechanics, aiming, melee combat all feels more fluid and lively when compared to the original. You will explore a brand new city, take side quests and missions, find dead drops and shards... its all here all over again just with a new coat of paint. On top of new powers to unlock, Cole now has access to THE AMP which allows him additional combat moves especially with melee. To top it all off the map now has some destructible elements which add a nice bit of devastation to Cole's attacks, and goes along exceptionally well if you decide to take the EVIL path.

One thing that does put a damper on the gameplay however is the camera mechanics. This time around the camera got in my way a lot more than it did in the first installment, especially when it came to melee combat with the amp. The camera gave this really nice comic book effect sometimes, giving nice low angle close ups to the fight but it also cut off my view of oncoming danger; and sometimes when jumping would go behind a building or wall leaving me blind to my position. While not a major problem it does put a tiny damper on the gameplay

GRAPHICS

A big time improvement over the first game, and overall the game looks great! The graphics are rendered exceptionally well, and the effects of Cole's powers never looked better. The best part of all is the new city. It looks magnificent when compared to the previous. There is a lot more activity and visual effects going on that really do make the city feel more alive. It is a major improvement over the first title I feel.

SOUND/STORY

Sound wise, the game is very lively. Cole's powers have a lot more effect to them and overall the game just sounds great. Voice acting is of high quality in my book. The new voice actor for Cole at first might seem out of place, when compared with the original, but it grew on me over time. Story wise the game has a decent story, on par with the first game. Like in the original you can chose to be Good or Evil depending on your actions making for two endings and in a way; Two story arcs each leading to different sets of skill upgrades and storyline elements.

REPLAY/LENGTH

Depending on how obsessed you get with collecting shards, dead drops, side quests etc the game should take you anywhere from 14 17 hrs. Replay value is exceptionally high! Not only do you have both a Good and Evil storyline to complete, but shards, dead drops, side quests all return and then some. If you loved the first you will have no problem playing though this game twice with ease.

There is also an online element to Infamous 2 which allows you to create and play user created maps/content. While the controls and implementation of the creator do need some work (in my opinion) the level of creation available is high. Given some time expect to see some wild user-generated content online!

OVERALL A... 90%

Infamous 2 does the original game justice. It doesn't change the formula much, instead just improving upon what made the original a greatest hit; while also giving it a nice face lift graphically. Throw in new super-powers, user-generated content and online, and you have yourself a winner. While Infamous 2 is not a perfect game, it does more than enough to make itself out to be a powerful, high quality title well worth the price of admission.

*** COLLECTOR'S EDITION CONTENT REVIEW ***

Spending a little extra $$$ to get the Hero edition might be a worth while investment if you are an inFamous fan; but that all depends on if you like what you get. Included in the Hero Edition is a plethora of goodies bound to at least impress at first glance but are they worth your money?

Included in the Hero Edition:

1. an 8.5" Cole statue. The statue is pretty decent quality though Cole might seem a touch small as keep in mind the 8.5" is including the height of the rooftop he is standing on

2. inFamous 2 video game (this one is fairly self explanatory!)

3. DC Comic ... inFamous #1. This comic is a prequel to inFamous 2 taking place just after the first game and provides a little more backing into some of the characters

4. Additional Skins and Powers. You will receive both the Reaper and Kessler skins as well as the Lightning Hook and Electrocution Grenade ability

5. All 4 AMP skin variations

6. inFamous 2 official sound track

*7. The big boy of the package deal... an inFamous designed Sling pack. This pack is pretty good quality I'd say. It opens on the left side via a zipper compartment and has plenty of space to store stuff.

So overall is the Hero Edition worth the current(6/7/2011) $40 investment? Depends on how you feel about the items and collectibles. The bag is the real $$ item here, as the statue, comic, and DLC included is stuff you probably would get in a $10 or $20 DLC w/ some sort of gimmicky item like a plasma cutter or little toy sackboy etc. Instead we are getting a nice, usable sling pack. So it comes down to if you really want a sling pack.

Personally I wouldn't lay out the additional money for the Hero Edition because of the pack. It is the kind of item that I toss in the closet and forget about since I have no reason to use it. That is me however; the pack is decent quality and I could see it being a usable item for every day use to carry some school books, a laptop, random stuff... perhaps even a Ray-Sphere if you come across one. With that said the Hero Edition is more for die-hard fans of the game, someone big on collectibles, or if you want a collectible Sling Pack.

OVERALL I give the package a 80%. The included content is nice and goes along great for a fan of the series, but at $40 it amounts to a collectible Sling Pack, figure, soundtrack and a Comic for the most part. Not for everyone, but if you make the investment you won't feel robbed at all.. especially once you see that Sling Pack.

** FINAL VERDICT : Hero Edition as a whole.. including the quality of inFamous 2 scores an 85%(B/B+ aka 4.5 stars). The game is a delicious cake and the Hero edition is the icing. While this package is not for everyone your $$$ will not be wasted on the investment.

I pre-ordered this in March and good God I'm glad! I'll be brief so you can spend less time reading and more time going to the store to buy it! I'll start with the extras...

The sling pack (as everyone has been wondering) it isn't huge, but you can fit some stuff in there. Probably like two three ring binders and another mid sized book in the other pocket. This bag is not a cheap rip off dudes, it's VERY high quality and Sucker Punch definitely gets mad props for this. The cell phone holder is about the only thing that would look cheap BUT LISTEN!!!! it IS removeable and if you really want to carry your cell there, go buy a holder that attaches to your belt and put it in the place of the old one on the bag!! it'll work out perfect! I even got the wild idea of putting my sword where cole's amp was, ha it looked sweet but I don't wanna get arrested. This bag could also be a really sweet carry on bag for travel. (this sling pack was pretty much the only reason I got the hero edition)

The mini statue Again, the bag was the only reason I got this but damnnnnnnnnnnnnn the mini statue is insanely detailed and looks great sitting on the corner of my table and/or bookshelf!

The extras (downloadable) ya get basically two skins, one for cole and one for the amp. haven't messed with them because I could care less. I'm too busy smackin bitches around and saving a city to really worry about it. Plus there's so many bolts and explosions that I really don't take the time to look and how cool Cole's amp looks. Sarcasm aside, Cole looks totally badass and I'm sure a good handful will enjoy the two skins. The lightning hook is alright for pickin em off one by one but half the time there's so many enemies I'm not worried about that, I'd much rather have my shockwave at the ready. The grenade is probably the best perk out of all of em.

The soundtrack based on what I've been hearing during the action scenes, us band dorks/music lovers will get a nice kick out of it.

Lastly, the game itself (an understatement) JESUS MARY AND JEROME IT'S AWESOME!!! From the first part of the game you're thrown into the action!!! You can also pick up where you left off (good or evil) from the first game if you played meaning you get some extra perks from your old save file. You also get to team up with some badass girls and smack some enemies around. Oh and the melee combat system, epic. With Cole's new weapon it's insanely fun to whack the em around.

If anything, buy the fricken game!!! If you played the first one, the sequel has improved on everything from the first game and I have no complaints about it at all. the sling pack fits me perfectly (5'11, 157lbs) and I will definitely be struttin around with it once school starts back up in the fall (this game is the main reason I didn't take any summer classes....dedicated eh?) ENJOY!!!!

Hero Edition:

Many reviews have already commented on Hero Edition extras, so I'll simply note that the sling pack is well-made and looks to be actually useful.

The comic is fine, bridging the two games, for those who care. But as part one of six (published by DC, if you're looking for other issues), you won't get the entire story. Also, its smaller size can make the dialogue a ltttle hard on the eyss.

The Red OST is good. I enjoy it quite a lot, but some may be disappointed that the final credits song is only included on the Blue OST, which must be bought separately.

Statue... Uh, I honestly don't know for whom these are marketed. I'm sure they appeal to someone...

The DLC was probably the main reason I bought this edition, beyond support for a game I fully expected to enjoy. Getting early access to the powers was great, although there are known glitches with the content (I have not experienced any issues with the skins, though some had to re-download them from PSN), but because one power occurs during the story, I've had some issues with it on subsequent play throughs. The game gives it to you, but it will not connect to anything, rendering it useless, until you reach the point in the story when you'd have normally obtained it (quite late, actually).

Game Review:

I loved the first game, and came into the second expecting to love it, as well. And, for the most part, I did.

Gameplay is just as fun as the first game. A player can easily spend hours just running around, stopping or abetting random crime, etc. The graphics received a facelift, and the non-2D cutscenes (quite a few, in contrast to the first game) appear to be done in engine, which is terrific, as it means the game actually looks as good as its cutscenes.

= Powers have also gotten a makeover, with new types of abilities opening, as players progress. While many may initially stick to their comfort zone from the first game (and lament some changes there), I really encourage people to try out the newer abilities, as some are just plain fun; maybe they aren't so useful per se, but they're a blast to play with!

While I was skeptical about User Generated Content, as I normally prefer offline gaming, I've had a surprisingly good time both playing others' levels and tinkering with my own. The creation interface is not incredibly intuitive, but with patience, fairly sophisticated levels can be achieved. And the sheer array of UGC available is heartening. It may not all be solid gold, but a lot of it is in good fun.

= My sole reservation--and the reason I docked a half star (which became a whole one, due to system)--is the plot. This is an area of contention, and I think it comes down to personal opinion, as well as whether one plays the "good" ending or the "bad" first. Overall, the writing remains sharp; personal narratives carry over fine from the first game (specifically, I'd argue, Zeke's attempts to become his own man); the new characters had decent personal stories, and I was surprised how much I came to care for them, even if I didn't *always* love them in combat ("Quit throwing ***** monsters at me!") And the new Cole, while initially jarring, was forgotten about an hour into the game, for me.

But the story itself feels much more linear than the first game, which had a healthy dose of conspiracy theory and mystery. This game is very by the numbers. structurally. That isn't necessarily bad, as the story drives forward competently and with well-tuned pacing. It's just not as interesting to me.

Exacerbating it is that the main "villain" (and main subvillain) is the same from the start. The first game had multiple bosses before the final villain. And each of those characters were interesting, and fought in very different ways. The boss fights here seem to repeat the same patterns, no matter what the boss' size. And fighting as many monsters as you do, rather than people, made me feel more distanced from parts of the story. Defeating a monster isn't really the same, emotionally, as defeating someone who has their own internal story and cause for action. I'll give the main villain(s) some credit for nuance. By the end of their respective stories, I could see their motivations. But in at least one case, it felt almost tacked on and really, too little too late.

All that aside, as with most game play, the boss fights are enjoyable, if a touch on the easy side, even on the hardest settings. All are defeated with the same basic tactic. Again, though, this is just a preference, and baed on my gameplay style. Some people enjoy easier fights, and that's certainly valid.

= Surely, the most controversial part is the ending. I felt strongly that one was superior to the other; it's as though the developers had it in mind all along, but were forced to make a counterpart. I'm confident they tried, but it's like they just weren't feeling it. It shows in the writing, length, lack of animation, and--for me--lack of emotional weight. In fairness, I did eventually watch both together, and it's clear that the scripts dovetail neatly together; the technical deftness made me like the other one more. The problem is that, considered on its own, the weaker still feels lacking.

However, the stronger ending is, undoubtedly, one of the more brilliant endings in recent games. The developers force the player into actions they likely resist, and it works perfeetly. I think it's the best single moment in a game this year.

= IN SUMMARY, the game is a blast to play. If you care a lot about story, you may not enjoy it quite as much as the first, and the ending may disappoint. That said, it isn't enough to make me say anything except that anyone who remotely enjoys this genre should play this game. Yes, it's that good.

Got my hero edition the day it came out and it's really a great package. I was impressed at the quality of the statue and the bag they are not cheap looking at all definitely one of my favorite collector editions. Plus you get all the pre-order DLC from all store, some exclusive skins, and free soundtrack for a great price. The base on the statue could have been better made but other than that everything is well worth it.

The game itself is ridiculously fun and these add-ons are great and high quality
