Just Cause 2 is an amazing game. So far I have not found any reviews that really do it justice and I'm not sure why. It seems like the more games that come out, the more competition there is between them, and I'm thinking this game kinda just got lost in the bunch, because it's surely a hidden treasure.

PS3 Version

Graphics: Amazing

The graphics in this game are flawless. Everything from the beautiful environments, to the insanely detailed massive explosions, to driving around crashing your car, or even connecting your car to an airliner and taking off with it dangling behind you, the graphics in the game are A+.

Gameplay: Amazing

The gameplay in this game are everything I've ever wanted in a game. You are completely free to explore the entire world within the first hour of the game. And when I say "entire world" I mean entire world. This game will literally take you about 30-40 mins to FLY across the world. Anything slower than flying (boat, car, walking) is just out of the question. That's how immense this game is. And the things you can do in it are just plain rediculous (in a good way). Drive any car/plane/boat/motorcycle as fast as you want, crashing into buildings, ramping off mountains, things exploding everywhere as you leave a path of destruction behind you. Did I mention you have a grappling hook? Yes. Probably the coolest tool anyone could ever have in a game. You can grapple yourself to things (pull yourself), you can grapple to things to pull them towards you (people, objects), and you can grapple things together (random people to moving vehicles like planes, helicopters, and cars). Endless possibilities. Gameplay is what gives this game a 5 star rating.

Storyline: Meh....

The storyline (or lack there of) is really the only thing I could think of that drags this game down. Really down. I mean it's amazing running around blowing things up and causing chaos, but when you want a game that has a little substance along with that, just cause 2 falls pretty short. The characters are terrible and the voice acting is even worse. I pretty much skipped all of the movie scenes about half way through the game because I didnt' wanna waste the 5 mins listening to the terrible voice over and pointless cut scenes. But trust me, the storyline is about 25% worth of this game. The rest is just plain freedom to do whatever you want, wherever you want.

Replayability:

This game is definitely replayable, in a sense that once you complete the story missions (if you even bother to) you can spend days worth of playing just going around finding all of the easter eggs, side missions, and collectibles. In fact, I myself am still playing this game. I beat the story missions and a lot of side missions and then my PS3 bit the dust. So I pretty much just started over and it hasn't lost a single bit of its awesomeness. Amazing game!@! Anyone who says nor, either hasn't played it or expects wayyyyy too much. Just Cause 2 will not disappoint.

I played a demo of this game on Onlive before buying it. The demo was a great example but didn't really prepare me for the game. This game has a MASSIVE world to explore. When I say massive, I mean it. There is a story line you follow and complete but once you finish that, you can continue to explore the world of the game in Mercenary mode. Basically, it's free movement around the islands. This game allows you to commandeer ANY vehicle in the game. This means that not only can you explore in trucks, jeeps, motorcycles, tanks, ATVs, etc. but you can take to the skies and take over helicopters, jets, fighter planes and the water in all manner of boats. This makes the game hugely exciting. There's nothing like raining down hell fire on an enemy base from your Apache attack helicopter!

The game features several types of locations to explore: villages, military bases, naval bases, and also races these come in all varieties of vehicles and are timed. Personally, I enjoy going after the military bases. This gives you the pleasure of not only tearing to shreds the army based there but also allows you to take control of massive anti aircraft guns, tanks, and 50 cal guns that you can then use anywhere else on the islands.

In short, this is a very exciting game with hours of replay-ability. As this is an older game now, you can likely find it for cheap. Great bargain you wont regret.

First of all, the map is MASSIVE. You can wander around for hours just exploring the place. I really like this game.

This is an amazingly fun game for how simple it is. I would also say it's appropriate for younger teens, as it doesn't include any of the language and sexual content of other similar games like GTA.

One word of caution pay attention to what region the game comes from. While the PS3 is technically region-free, all DLC is still region-locked. So if, like me, you get a UK version of the game, and you have a US PSN account, you won't be able to add any DLC.

This is not that bad of the game its a cross between Grand theft auto and a #rd person shooter that I cant think of at the moment I didnt buy this from amazon I got it at discount from the playstation store with all the DLC. Gameplay is a little off at times and can be frustrating when the militia forces attack in numbers with soldiers and vehicles. my biggest complaint it the cars handling its like all the cars have no brakes and the car can spin out while turning and your on the breaks they also drive like tanks. If you can get by with the handling of the cars then it really not that bad of a game.
