This thing works just like you'd expect it to. I haven't tried the card reader... Also, you get a USB cord that has a male and a female end... so you can plug this in to the cord to have it away from the system for some reason, or you can do like I did, and extended my charging cable for when I need to charge a controller while playing.

Perfect for families big enough to have all the instruments in Guitar Hero or RockBand going at once. We found it to work well and it allowed all of us to play at once. Needs the usb "extension" cable to work. No need for extension but clearly I have no option but to use it otherwise.
