Im gonna have to disagree with the previous reviews. I loved this game in its entirety. Considering how shallow the original one was and I still loved that one this was huge. Amazing graphics and fun gameplay. I dont think lack of blood is a reason to dislike a game, considering the blood in the dinos is plentiful. If you enjoyed the original at all this one will be amazing. A lot more options and much better dinosaur fighting action.

I am so tired of killing zombies! This is a great change to the normal shooter. Graphics are amazing and the surround sound is amazing. It does a great job of dumping you in the jungle and making you feel like you're fighting for your life. Who doesn't like dinosaurs?

I played the demo for this game when it came out, and I liked it so I decided to buy the full game. In my opinion, Propaganda Games has done an excellent job re-imagining Turok for next-gen consoles, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Namely, the save system is a bit frustrating, and the shooting mechanics are a bit jumpy do to excessive screen shaking (if you turn down the sensetivity a notch or two though, the aiming is much better). Also, a minor complaint I had is that it should have been gorier. They don't shy away from the splatter when you kill Dinosaurs, but unfortunately, killing enemy soldiers is practically G-rated (I'm guessing it's because Disney isn't quite ready to deal with Jack Thompson yet). I suggest you ignore the haters and try the game for yourself before you pass judgment. It's a decent shooter and a solid return for the Turok franchise. It's not as good as Call of Duty, but guess what? The original Turok wasn't as good as Goldeneye, but that didn't stop people from enjoying it. You'll either like this game or you won't, so I suggest you try it for yourself.

Hopefully, Propaganda makes a good sequel to this game. They're a new developer, but I see a lot of potential in them. They just need to fix the shooting mechanics and save feature, and add the extra coat of visual polish that this game could have used (which is not to say it doesn't have good graphics, because for the most part it does) and they'll have a really good game on their hands.

Let me start off by saying I just took a shot in the dark on this one. I had never played the demo, and when I tried to find it on PSN a month ago it wasn't there. My curiosity didn't subside so I just went ahead and bought it. It was definitely worth it!

The first away from Acclaim, Turok has undergone a reboot of the story. This game unveils Turok's history with Wolfpack as he is now a member of Whiskey Company hunting down his former mentor to bring in for crimes. There is quite a large amount of cutscenes which unfolds this story the further through the game you get. While it is ultimately a forgettable plot, it held my attention to the end.

The use of the Unreal Engine is nice. The dinosaurs look great. Reflections are used and are very prevalent with waterfalls, water in general, and the knife/edge. Despite some negative reviews, I feel the textures are well done. Keep in mind this is a 2008 release. There are some rendering issues. Several times the game seemed to get ahead of itself and I would be watching a cutscene only to have the characters and room rendered about 3 seconds into it. There are also some choppy load points that can be frustrating when they happen unexpectedly and you are left making a move you'd rather not. There was also one major clipping issue during the second to last boss fight. Right before the battle I fell through the ground and all the way to sheer blackness. I had to restart at the last checkpoint, which fortunately was right before the battle so it didn't really matter much. This only happened once so all is forgiven.

My main issue with this game is the sheer difficulty. I honestly believe this is the most difficult game I have ever played. There are two choices when you start a new game, Normal and Hard. Well Normal feels like most games' Hard/Insane. Be prepared to die 25-50 times no joke. What's rough about that is the checkpoints are quite distant from each other making you replay a large chunk of game to get back to where you originally died. The load time to get back in action is also long. It's a double edged sword as I have never been so frustrated during gameplay but also never felt such a sense of accomplishment once finishing. Just be warned. Once you beat the game once you unlock Inhuman mode. I can safely say I will not even attempt this.

I think it's unfortunate this game didn't do better than it did. It received good reviews, yet the unannounced sequel is surrounded by doubt that it will ever be made. If there ever is a Turok 2 I will definitely pick it up.

I have been a massive Turok fan ever since the first game came out on the N64 back in 1997. The first 2 games are in my top 5 list of the greatest First Person Shooters ever. And as the 3 star rating suggests this is a good game but as a Turok game it fails and fails miserably.

Yes this game has raptors and a T-Rex, but that's really all the dinos this game has to offer. Where are the Pur-linn and Leapers? It is ESSENTIAL for a Turok game to have these enemies! And I also would have liked to see The Endtrails and Mantids from Turok 2 make an appearance.

The weapons are nothing worthy of the Turok name either. We have all the cliches: Shotgun, Automatic Rifle, Sniper Rifle, and Rocket Launcher ect. No one thought of including the legendary Cerebral Bore? Not to mention the QUAD rocket launcher, Shredder, Fusion Cannon all those cool over the top weapons that Turok is famous for.

I don't think I'm asking for too much. I did expect this came to follow some modern FPS trends like carrying a limited amount of weapons, regenerating health and those other things that Halo did so now EVERY FPS for some reason must also do. But ranting aside this is still a good game that has some exciting moments and beautiful graphics. And there were some entertaining boss battles. I would definitely rather play this than the snooze-fest that is the COD: Modern Warfare 2 single player campaign and it has more variety to make it better than Killzone 2.

After Turok 2, Turok just hasn't been Turok and this game does nothing to change that.
