The sling pack: is full sized and while it may be a bit stiff, it will come in handy. The cell phone holder on the front band is removeable too. It fits enough for one overnighter (pants, shirt, etc.). Looks like you could fit a 3 liter soda bottle inside of it. Oddly, that what it looks like full!

The RED soundtrack: Definitely background soundtrack music. If you're one of those into movie soundtracks or an experimental/ambient/downtempo DJ, this might be for you. Hints of industrial vibes to it. It does come as a download you install, but once that's done you can copy it to a removeable memory stick and move them to your preferred listening device. 22 tracks @ 256kbps mp3 quality.

The comic: a bit of what happened before he got his powers and what happened after. If you look around, you might be able to find this as jpeg type download.

The extras: are nice for those of us who don't really care for the way the "amp" looks (or Cole's new look).

The UGC: User Generated Content can be a trip. People providing their own mini missions. Some go from basic grinding wires and racing through rings to crazy climbing or straight up destruction/survival situations. Options on this allows you to pick certain types or shut them off completely.

The game itself is more detailed than the first, but it's still goes only to 720p max : (

(was hoping it would be 1080)

Movement has been cleaned up. On the first Infamous, Cole wouldn't walk down onto smaller things/steps or up onto a stairwell sometimes. Cole seems more natually responsive this time around, more fluid. The problem with him "sticking" to things you don't want him too doesn't seem to be here in #2.

Other than some of the 720/pixel moments, the only other thing that bothers me about this is Cole's voice. This time he's more nasal-ly and higher pitched. Keeps throwing me off after I had JUST finished playing the first inFamous and he sounds raspy and deeper!!

One cool thing to find was when I started the game, it asked me if I would like to pick up from 1 of the 2 save points FROM my Infamous 1 game! I tried both my good and evil saves and it gave me the same for each. It gave me 3 bonuses! It started you off already in 1st karma rank, gave you some XP and extra power cells!!! Now that was nice!

If you're a fan of the first, this is sure to please.

UPDATE:

So it took me a week to finish it with good karma. Seemed like the little guys were tougher than the bosses. I'm on hard now on the evil karma side and it's kicking my butt! One rocket or two bullets and you are done. Be prepared to die....A LOT.

Zeke looks A LOT better in this one, more detailed. The banter between the two girls and Cole is fun too. Like the first inFamous, choices aren't only made during the red or blue missions, but sometimes during the main missions too. So you have the nice girl to do things with....or the naughty one (hehe). Cole seems to have a bit more of an attitude too, this adds to the fun. Also, the surround sound on this is awesome. Love the little things people say about you as you walk down the street. But watch out! On the evil mission those people will join in to try to get you too as you're fighting others!

All in all it's not better or worse than the first. There is good things about it that are better than the first, and some bad things. But i'm still glad I bought it.

So there's a few only things I don't like about it now. One, the slo-mo when you get hit. Too often another hit will happen while in slo-mo and you're done, start mission over. Annoying. Also, about 3 three times now i've gotten stuck/glitched into inside of a building or train and couldn't get out. Had to save and re-load. 3 or more times i've gotten stuck inbetween things and couldn't move or died from being squashed over something ridicious. From one of those wooden walkways to a bad jump between a wall and something else, errr. The sticking thing I mentioned before, well sometimes he doesn't stick to things now. Sometimes you'll jump to land on a wire that going from roof to roof and just go right through it.

The whole thing seemed to go by a little quick, but it was worth it. I really don't see how they could do a 3rd, but only time will tell......

*** GAME REVIEW ***

infamous 2 has a pretty big set of shoes to fill after the success of the first. It seemed like it would be hard to improve upon the mechanics of the first game. Yet Sucker Punch studios managed to find a way, and produce a worthy sequel to Infamous.

GAMEPLAY

If you have played Infamous then you will feel right at home with Infamous 2. Not much has changed gameplay wise from the original except for loads of polish. Your character will keep his powers, avoiding a Metroid or God of War scenario, and earn additional powers throughout the game. Climbing mechanics, aiming, melee combat all feels more fluid and lively when compared to the original. You will explore a brand new city, take side quests and missions, find dead drops and shards... its all here all over again just with a new coat of paint. On top of new powers to unlock, Cole now has access to THE AMP which allows him additional combat moves especially with melee. To top it all off the map now has some destructible elements which add a nice bit of devastation to Cole's attacks, and goes along exceptionally well if you decide to take the EVIL path.

One thing that does put a damper on the gameplay however is the camera mechanics. This time around the camera got in my way a lot more than it did in the first installment, especially when it came to melee combat with the amp. The camera gave this really nice comic book effect sometimes, giving nice low angle close ups to the fight but it also cut off my view of oncoming danger; and sometimes when jumping would go behind a building or wall leaving me blind to my position. While not a major problem it does put a tiny damper on the gameplay

GRAPHICS

A big time improvement over the first game, and overall the game looks great! The graphics are rendered exceptionally well, and the effects of Cole's powers never looked better. The best part of all is the new city. It looks magnificent when compared to the previous. There is a lot more activity and visual effects going on that really do make the city feel more alive. It is a major improvement over the first title I feel.

SOUND/STORY

Sound wise, the game is very lively. Cole's powers have a lot more effect to them and overall the game just sounds great. Voice acting is of high quality in my book. The new voice actor for Cole at first might seem out of place, when compared with the original, but it grew on me over time. Story wise the game has a decent story, on par with the first game. Like in the original you can chose to be Good or Evil depending on your actions making for two endings and in a way; Two story arcs each leading to different sets of skill upgrades and storyline elements.

REPLAY/LENGTH

Depending on how obsessed you get with collecting shards, dead drops, side quests etc the game should take you anywhere from 14 17 hrs. Replay value is exceptionally high! Not only do you have both a Good and Evil storyline to complete, but shards, dead drops, side quests all return and then some. If you loved the first you will have no problem playing though this game twice with ease.

There is also an online element to Infamous 2 which allows you to create and play user created maps/content. While the controls and implementation of the creator do need some work (in my opinion) the level of creation available is high. Given some time expect to see some wild user-generated content online!

OVERALL A... 90%

Infamous 2 does the original game justice. It doesn't change the formula much, instead just improving upon what made the original a greatest hit; while also giving it a nice face lift graphically. Throw in new super-powers, user-generated content and online, and you have yourself a winner. While Infamous 2 is not a perfect game, it does more than enough to make itself out to be a powerful, high quality title well worth the price of admission.

*** COLLECTOR'S EDITION CONTENT REVIEW ***

Spending a little extra $$$ to get the Hero edition might be a worth while investment if you are an inFamous fan; but that all depends on if you like what you get. Included in the Hero Edition is a plethora of goodies bound to at least impress at first glance but are they worth your money?

Included in the Hero Edition:

1. an 8.5" Cole statue. The statue is pretty decent quality though Cole might seem a touch small as keep in mind the 8.5" is including the height of the rooftop he is standing on

2. inFamous 2 video game (this one is fairly self explanatory!)

3. DC Comic ... inFamous #1. This comic is a prequel to inFamous 2 taking place just after the first game and provides a little more backing into some of the characters

4. Additional Skins and Powers. You will receive both the Reaper and Kessler skins as well as the Lightning Hook and Electrocution Grenade ability

5. All 4 AMP skin variations

6. inFamous 2 official sound track

*7. The big boy of the package deal... an inFamous designed Sling pack. This pack is pretty good quality I'd say. It opens on the left side via a zipper compartment and has plenty of space to store stuff.

So overall is the Hero Edition worth the current(6/7/2011) $40 investment? Depends on how you feel about the items and collectibles. The bag is the real $$ item here, as the statue, comic, and DLC included is stuff you probably would get in a $10 or $20 DLC w/ some sort of gimmicky item like a plasma cutter or little toy sackboy etc. Instead we are getting a nice, usable sling pack. So it comes down to if you really want a sling pack.

Personally I wouldn't lay out the additional money for the Hero Edition because of the pack. It is the kind of item that I toss in the closet and forget about since I have no reason to use it. That is me however; the pack is decent quality and I could see it being a usable item for every day use to carry some school books, a laptop, random stuff... perhaps even a Ray-Sphere if you come across one. With that said the Hero Edition is more for die-hard fans of the game, someone big on collectibles, or if you want a collectible Sling Pack.

OVERALL I give the package a 80%. The included content is nice and goes along great for a fan of the series, but at $40 it amounts to a collectible Sling Pack, figure, soundtrack and a Comic for the most part. Not for everyone, but if you make the investment you won't feel robbed at all.. especially once you see that Sling Pack.

** FINAL VERDICT : Hero Edition as a whole.. including the quality of inFamous 2 scores an 85%(B/B+ aka 4.5 stars). The game is a delicious cake and the Hero edition is the icing. While this package is not for everyone your $$$ will not be wasted on the investment.

I pre-ordered this in March and good God I'm glad! I'll be brief so you can spend less time reading and more time going to the store to buy it! I'll start with the extras...

The sling pack (as everyone has been wondering) it isn't huge, but you can fit some stuff in there. Probably like two three ring binders and another mid sized book in the other pocket. This bag is not a cheap rip off dudes, it's VERY high quality and Sucker Punch definitely gets mad props for this. The cell phone holder is about the only thing that would look cheap BUT LISTEN!!!! it IS removeable and if you really want to carry your cell there, go buy a holder that attaches to your belt and put it in the place of the old one on the bag!! it'll work out perfect! I even got the wild idea of putting my sword where cole's amp was, ha it looked sweet but I don't wanna get arrested. This bag could also be a really sweet carry on bag for travel. (this sling pack was pretty much the only reason I got the hero edition)

The mini statue Again, the bag was the only reason I got this but damnnnnnnnnnnnnn the mini statue is insanely detailed and looks great sitting on the corner of my table and/or bookshelf!

The extras (downloadable) ya get basically two skins, one for cole and one for the amp. haven't messed with them because I could care less. I'm too busy smackin bitches around and saving a city to really worry about it. Plus there's so many bolts and explosions that I really don't take the time to look and how cool Cole's amp looks. Sarcasm aside, Cole looks totally badass and I'm sure a good handful will enjoy the two skins. The lightning hook is alright for pickin em off one by one but half the time there's so many enemies I'm not worried about that, I'd much rather have my shockwave at the ready. The grenade is probably the best perk out of all of em.

The soundtrack based on what I've been hearing during the action scenes, us band dorks/music lovers will get a nice kick out of it.

Lastly, the game itself (an understatement) JESUS MARY AND JEROME IT'S AWESOME!!! From the first part of the game you're thrown into the action!!! You can also pick up where you left off (good or evil) from the first game if you played meaning you get some extra perks from your old save file. You also get to team up with some badass girls and smack some enemies around. Oh and the melee combat system, epic. With Cole's new weapon it's insanely fun to whack the em around.

If anything, buy the fricken game!!! If you played the first one, the sequel has improved on everything from the first game and I have no complaints about it at all. the sling pack fits me perfectly (5'11, 157lbs) and I will definitely be struttin around with it once school starts back up in the fall (this game is the main reason I didn't take any summer classes....dedicated eh?) ENJOY!!!!

Hero Edition:

Many reviews have already commented on Hero Edition extras, so I'll simply note that the sling pack is well-made and looks to be actually useful.

The comic is fine, bridging the two games, for those who care. But as part one of six (published by DC, if you're looking for other issues), you won't get the entire story. Also, its smaller size can make the dialogue a ltttle hard on the eyss.

The Red OST is good. I enjoy it quite a lot, but some may be disappointed that the final credits song is only included on the Blue OST, which must be bought separately.

Statue... Uh, I honestly don't know for whom these are marketed. I'm sure they appeal to someone...

The DLC was probably the main reason I bought this edition, beyond support for a game I fully expected to enjoy. Getting early access to the powers was great, although there are known glitches with the content (I have not experienced any issues with the skins, though some had to re-download them from PSN), but because one power occurs during the story, I've had some issues with it on subsequent play throughs. The game gives it to you, but it will not connect to anything, rendering it useless, until you reach the point in the story when you'd have normally obtained it (quite late, actually).

Game Review:

I loved the first game, and came into the second expecting to love it, as well. And, for the most part, I did.

Gameplay is just as fun as the first game. A player can easily spend hours just running around, stopping or abetting random crime, etc. The graphics received a facelift, and the non-2D cutscenes (quite a few, in contrast to the first game) appear to be done in engine, which is terrific, as it means the game actually looks as good as its cutscenes.

= Powers have also gotten a makeover, with new types of abilities opening, as players progress. While many may initially stick to their comfort zone from the first game (and lament some changes there), I really encourage people to try out the newer abilities, as some are just plain fun; maybe they aren't so useful per se, but they're a blast to play with!

While I was skeptical about User Generated Content, as I normally prefer offline gaming, I've had a surprisingly good time both playing others' levels and tinkering with my own. The creation interface is not incredibly intuitive, but with patience, fairly sophisticated levels can be achieved. And the sheer array of UGC available is heartening. It may not all be solid gold, but a lot of it is in good fun.

= My sole reservation--and the reason I docked a half star (which became a whole one, due to system)--is the plot. This is an area of contention, and I think it comes down to personal opinion, as well as whether one plays the "good" ending or the "bad" first. Overall, the writing remains sharp; personal narratives carry over fine from the first game (specifically, I'd argue, Zeke's attempts to become his own man); the new characters had decent personal stories, and I was surprised how much I came to care for them, even if I didn't *always* love them in combat ("Quit throwing ***** monsters at me!") And the new Cole, while initially jarring, was forgotten about an hour into the game, for me.

But the story itself feels much more linear than the first game, which had a healthy dose of conspiracy theory and mystery. This game is very by the numbers. structurally. That isn't necessarily bad, as the story drives forward competently and with well-tuned pacing. It's just not as interesting to me.

Exacerbating it is that the main "villain" (and main subvillain) is the same from the start. The first game had multiple bosses before the final villain. And each of those characters were interesting, and fought in very different ways. The boss fights here seem to repeat the same patterns, no matter what the boss' size. And fighting as many monsters as you do, rather than people, made me feel more distanced from parts of the story. Defeating a monster isn't really the same, emotionally, as defeating someone who has their own internal story and cause for action. I'll give the main villain(s) some credit for nuance. By the end of their respective stories, I could see their motivations. But in at least one case, it felt almost tacked on and really, too little too late.

All that aside, as with most game play, the boss fights are enjoyable, if a touch on the easy side, even on the hardest settings. All are defeated with the same basic tactic. Again, though, this is just a preference, and baed on my gameplay style. Some people enjoy easier fights, and that's certainly valid.

= Surely, the most controversial part is the ending. I felt strongly that one was superior to the other; it's as though the developers had it in mind all along, but were forced to make a counterpart. I'm confident they tried, but it's like they just weren't feeling it. It shows in the writing, length, lack of animation, and--for me--lack of emotional weight. In fairness, I did eventually watch both together, and it's clear that the scripts dovetail neatly together; the technical deftness made me like the other one more. The problem is that, considered on its own, the weaker still feels lacking.

However, the stronger ending is, undoubtedly, one of the more brilliant endings in recent games. The developers force the player into actions they likely resist, and it works perfeetly. I think it's the best single moment in a game this year.

= IN SUMMARY, the game is a blast to play. If you care a lot about story, you may not enjoy it quite as much as the first, and the ending may disappoint. That said, it isn't enough to make me say anything except that anyone who remotely enjoys this genre should play this game. Yes, it's that good.

Got my hero edition the day it came out and it's really a great package. I was impressed at the quality of the statue and the bag they are not cheap looking at all definitely one of my favorite collector editions. Plus you get all the pre-order DLC from all store, some exclusive skins, and free soundtrack for a great price. The base on the statue could have been better made but other than that everything is well worth it.

The game itself is ridiculously fun and these add-ons are great and high quality

This is the second PS3 Versus Controller that I try that suffers from the exact same defect: the joystick fails to consistently register the up-left and down-left motions. It's impossible to jump left or crouch guard left. That's a horrible problem in a fighting game. The sad thing is returning it for a replacement and having the new controller do exactly the same thing.

With that out of the way, if you do happen to luck out and get a working one, this is probably a very good controller. I was able to perform every movement that required right motions quite easily, and and button placement works really well. In fact, besides the issues with the left directions, the joystick's response felt a lot like that on the Neo Geo Pocket Color, and that's high praise for this kind of small digital thumbstick.

So, at the end of the day, this is a great concept for a controller suffering from really poor execution due to bad quality control issues. Nice try PDP, but you seriously need to up your game.

*Poor Build Quality* The R2 button on this controller stopped working after 1 Day. I had heard stories of how poor the build quality was of the XBOX versions of the PDP controller, but I still wanted a PS3 version. Sure enough, after a solid play session and testing out the mechanics, I come back a day later and my R2 button has fallen in.

Build quality issues aside, the concept for this controller is great. I enjoy using the Microswitch as it reminds me of using a stick. The uneven hand grips seem odd at first, but as soon as you hold it in your hand, it'll make sense.

My only issues with the controller are that it could be a bit heavier in the hand, and it needs a rubber grip on the back. The controller is made of all plastic, so its very slippery in hand.

If not for build quality issues, I'd reccomend this 100% over the Madcatz Fightpads. However, my SF4 Fightpads have been going strong for a while now (altho the Dpad is squeaky) and the PDP Fightpad lasted me under 24-hours. Hopefully, I received a dud and its really not that bad of a product.

Taking a step back for a moment from the marketing of it, as a basic USB controller there's really nothing too special about it. The micro-switches are nice. Kind of like clicking a mouse button. The modified D-pad kind of reminds me of the Sega Saturn 3D Analog stick, except no analog. Speaking of which, I had recently cloned my library of Saturn games and I was looking around for either a Saturn controller to USB adapter, a USB Saturn-like controller, or a similar looking modern controller with 6 face buttons and 2 shoulder buttons. As far as I know, any adapter that might have existed before doesn't now, and the only "adapter" I could find was a DIY kit for retrousb.com. The current USB-i-fied Saturn controllers seem to be of poor build quality and the seemingly better made PlaySEGA controller can't be acquired since Sega's online customer records have been hacked and PlaySEGA is offline so I can't order a membership. So I started to look for similar modern controllers and ran across this one and a more expensive one from Hori. Both so-called fighting game controllers (which I guess means no analog sticks allowed) have the same general layout as a Sega Saturn controller, but for PS3 or Xbox 360. Both are USB, both have 6 face buttons and 2 shoulder buttons (plus 2 duplicated shoulder buttons on the Hori). The deciding factor in buying this one is that this one was cheaper and didn't have a lot of the customization that the Hori had that I thought was overkill.

Reading the reviews here concerned me. The build quality seemed to be the biggest downfall. Well, it seems that PDP has listened because a lot of what I read here is quite the opposite for me.

The buttons are solid. For one reviewer the R button caved in. They're solid for me. Without actually breaking it I tested the shoulder buttons and they held up to the palm of my hand pressing down hard on them. The D-pad is something I could get used to. I can see why this is a desirable feature as you can count the number of clicks you make when you try to perform a fireball or flying punch. Though, I think if I were to use it for fighting games I would have to get used to it still as for me either an arcade stick or a D-pad with cross directional bars on it is my preferred control.

And it seems that the back is now rubberized as one reviewer noted that it was something the controller lacked and something that he would like to see. The plastic on the front isn't slick either.

The weight is just fine for me. I was quite surprised by the size of it. For some reason I thought it would be bigger, but it's just fine for the size it is.

Nice big face buttons. That's a refreshing change. I can see why they shaped the controller the way they did. For those who like to lay the game pad on their leg and use it like a mini arcade control panel, it's pretty solid design. Works just as well holding it in your fists the traditional way too.

I bought it for the USB though and as a basic game pad in Windows 7 it seems to perform nicely. I notice in the game pad properties it still reads as an analog controller. This made me wonder why they couldn't have simply included the analog sticks and analog triggers in the first place. What was the point in excluding them? Did they get in the way of the 6 face buttons? I think they still could have included them. Weird. But for what it is it's simply ok. I needed a basic game pad anyway.

coming from a noob in fighter games and no much space for fight stick

all i can say this is a must buy for any fighter fans, i can perform all the complexity of motion with ease of thumb move

u can even play using a piano style grip one hand holding the the pad with the mini circle and other hand press buttons

also highly quality buttons, very very comfortable grip u can can play for hours without thumb sore

the microswitch is brilliant add i can depend on the sound of the switches to know if i perform the motion right ore not!

its wired with enough usb cable means no lag at all .

my only complain is the dashing the circular d-pad should be a little bigger but i'm sure i can get over it that with little practice

buy now:)

i forgot to say it comes with 2 years limited warranty

I recently bought this, and it's not a bad pad. It works well with games that use a d-pad for movement and fighting games like Mortal Kombat. I have no problems using the little nub, and I can still execute fatalities with no problems at all. I wish it was bigger, though. The left side has the longer handle, though there isn't too much of a grip on the right side, which does cause some small cramps. Also, the START and SELECT buttons are placed next to the R2 buttons. I know the reason behind it, but it is hard to reach, but due to the size, I wonder if there is an off chance of being too much into a game and accidentally pressing the button, in addition to the size. I don't even have big hands, either. But most of all, even though I have no problems using the nub, I do notice a squeaking noise when I move it left. This makes me question the quality of the controller, and it makes me unsure if my $15, which was what I bought it for, will go far, even to the release of Injustice. My recommendation of this controller will depend on hand size, mostly. If you have small hands and want something cheap, then go for it. But if not, well shopping for a fighting pad is like fishing, just keep on fishing, and you'll soon get a good one. (And hopefully you'll know what I'm talking about.)

I don't know...I hoped for better. It's not completely bad, but there is absolutely nothing ground breaking or unique here.

I'm a fan of the 2009 JJ flick, I'm a huge Trek fan overall, and a casual gamer. I was really looking forward to this. In fact, I've been waiting quite a long time (as many of us have) for a really great Star Trek game...especially given we've had to endure the likes of Shattered Universe, Legacy, Conquest, and games of that nature for so long. Having the current regime involved in the creation of this game really did give me hope.

Right off the bat, I can say that I enjoyed the first "Elite Force" MUCH more than this, overall.

The good: Plot/story, voice casting

The not-so-good: Pretty much everything else, lol...sorry. Graphics/CG are not really at a high level here. It's sort of high end PS2/low end PS3 quality. Controls and combat are clunky. There are a fair amount of software glitches (Gorn aliens stuck in a wall, Spock kinda walking above the ground, that kind of thing). I guess after putting so much time into Drake's Fortune/Red Dead Redemption and games of this nature that are very immersive as far as gameplay and graphics, this game really comes off flat to me. And a part of me is annoyed that this was allowed to happen and get released like this, especially given the anticipation surrounding the next movie.

And yet, I can't say it's completely "awful". It's not. I fully admit that having these characters, voiced by the real actors, makes it kinda sorta playable. It mainly involves shooting, combined with puzzle solving involving your tricorder. So...to each his/her own, I guess. In hindsight, I might have waited for more reviews and not spent $60 on this as a new release. Not worth it. So, the wait for a truly great ST game continues for me.

Perhaps LEGO Star Trek swoops in to save us? I actually think that might be the way to go moving ahead. Say what you will, but the Lego games are an awesome format. I think it would work.

Anyway--have fun, everyone. FWIW

The game was quite a bit of fun. After finishing it, I do plan to play it again at least 1 more time. I was also surprised that the game was as long as it is. I do feel like I got my money's worth out of it considering I payed $60 on it. I see no reason for a Star Trek fan not to buy this for only $40 now.

I enjoyed reading the items you can find in game, and hunting for audio logs is addictive. The writing for the audio logs are quite dull and don't really add anything new to the game, but the information about race traits and weaponry is interesting enough, since they are written in a creative way. I also caught myself with a smile on my face from time to time during some of the more exciting missions.

The cover system works enough to use it, however moving from location to location under cover is a bit too awkward to use the way it was intended. I found myself just using "stealth" to move around and using cover only when there were quite a bit of enemies directly in front of me.

Enemy AI had enough variety in it to add variety to encounters. Some mobs would hide and take pot shots, others would just lumber towards you spraying their weapons, while others would try to rush you while your under cover.

I have 3 gripes with the game: Firt, I wish they could have made the tricorder give more misc. data about things in the world. Right off the bat I wanted to scan Spock's harp or check out some things in the environment. However, the tricorder seemed a bit too limited (Trekkies especially love their random anecdotes). My second gripe is the lack of an instruction manual. When I looked it up on line, it was only 2 or 3 pages long. I don't see why a manual that small could not be included in a game that cost me $60. My last gripe is the biggest one. The texture detail in the game is very low for a PS3. I realized that all of my games with the 3D icon on front have very poor texture detail. I don't believe that a game should look bad for the sake of the vast minority of gamers that utilize a 3D monitor. From now on, I will think twice about any game with 3D support for that very reason.

I should say that I did not run into any bugs in game, for which I am extremely grateful. Namco Bandai seems to be doing pretty good with releasing working games. I did have an AI issue playing solo. Spock continued to walk face first into the same wall until I restarted from the last save point. However, in this day and age of buggy games, I don't consider this 1 small issue worth complaining about.

I would be very excited if the game had DLC sometime in the future. I get a feeling that that will not happen, but I would be very happy if I were proven wrong.

Although I enjoyed the game solo, I can only expect the game to be an even better experience if you have a friend over who enjoys the genre too.

I was really looking forward for this game. I was hoping you would be able to sit in the captains chair and command the Enterprise in battle. There is one battle scene and its short. The graphics are ok. The voices of the characters done by the actors from the movie is a plus. If it wasnt Star Trek I would probably have rated it much lower. Im also tired of games you finish in a day. Hopefully the next installment will use the Enterprise more. Who doesnt want to sit in the Captains chair and order photon torpedoes? I guess I would rate this 2 and 1/2 stars. If you are a Star Trek fan there is enough to keep you interested. If not dont bother.

I was skeptical about this game. I rented it for a day and decided I'd find out if it was a bomb or a win. Well, I started playing it at 3 pm and finished around 7 am. I was able to complete it in that time and I wasn't forcing myself to play, I was hooked (though the initial levels were def. the least fun, the game builds momentum).

For me, it was a story and I had to see what would happen and how it would end. Controls seemed unimpressive at first, but by midnight . . . everything was second nature.

Pros:

1) It really felt like a mini movie or a TV episode or something. I like both classic and Abrams Trek. I want more of the Chris Pine cast and this was a little bonus beyond the 2 movies that have been made. I am really impressed with how some effort was made to include a ref. from this game into the new movie. It makes the game feel more "real."

2) Like the new movies, this game takes from the old show and alters it but at the same time pays homage to the basics. Some loyalists to classic trek may complain, but I love these moments where something is similar and different at the same time.

3) I felt the game made good use of star trek technology and science. I liked how the tricorder functioned (its very similar to Batman's "detective mode" from the Arkham games). I liked collecting samples of fauna, alien dna, etc. I think it's good that they remember that Trek is about exploring (and studying what is found).

4) I'd read that the A.I. is bad. I didn't find that to be the case. It seemed like some of the best A.I. I've ever played around. I played as Kirk and Spock was an A.I. partner. Spock wasn't in my way, which is what I dread most about A.I. in games. He was good at avoiding getting shot at and he even blasted quite a few enemies for me (that really impressed me, I am used to the computer character basically being dead weight, not the case here, this computer makes the effort).

Cons:

1) Stuff does get repetitive. You can expect to "pry doors" a lot with the same lines exchanged between characters over and over. The good news is that these sort of things make it easy to "summon" your partner when he is off somewhere else.

2) The dialogue is a bit rough at times, but it's good at times too. But hey, it's a video game. It's just cool that they have all the actual actors in this!

3) Maybe the graphics aren't quite top of the line. But I did catch myself thinking, at times, that things looked a lot like one of the movies during moments where I was in control of the character.

When I got this one I wasn't sure to expect. I had seen some reviews that said the game was ok (actual reviews, not the ones faked by the dev team), and others that put this on the board as yet another terrible movie tie in game. When I started playing I actually found myself enjoying the game. I wasn't plagued by some of the bad AI problems that some people were complaining, though there were a couple times when the AI controlled character didn't help me shoot some of the enemies as much as I wanted it to. The Enemy AI is ok if a little basic (it's a bit improved on the hard difficulty), usually sticking to finding a piece of cover and shooting at you from that cover the whole time never changing positions, trying to flank you, or rushing headlong into you. I did find that the controls to interact with certain objects did feel clunky at times, but overall handle fairly well. The definite saving grace was that I actually thought the story was fairly well written, and it was nice to have all the main actors from the movies come back to voice their characters, and actually deliver some enjoyable performances. Furthermore it is a new and unique story meant to take place between the reboot film and the new Into Darkness. I will say that the short segment where you control the Enterprise was disappointing and graphics aren't as good on the console versions as they are on PC. I recommend buying this at $40 or under.

I can understand why a lot of people would not like this game simply because there is no way you can hunt on your own. There is only a sotry mode or a trphy chase mode. Obviously the story mode is self explanitory and the trphy chase mode is timed. However, this game is fun, the story mode is great. The reason for this is, is that it doesn't JUST set you up to shoot something, it adds challenge to it, and if you screw up, on many it gives you different ways to accomplish the hunt. Many of the hunts are challenging enough to see walkthroughs on. I've played the story mode there times and every time is different in ways. It's a game worth the try!

Main drawbacks were this kind of irritating guide who pops up now and again giving advice. Also some of the gadgets that the game wants you to employ are a bit much, gps, scent spray, etc. Overall liked this game and viewed against most games it is worth the $. >>> Edit added later. I found the fishing scenarios irritating beyond measure, seemed redundant and pointless. Reduced the stars rating from 4 to 3.

My review is based off the price and what the game offered in comparison. First off I have been a big fan of Cabela's games since this generation of consoles. The power allows tons of cool visuals to be seen and I thought that this game had tons of fun options for every gamers appetite. You have your fps viewpoint and the thrill of hunting down elusive animals without having to kill something in real life. The only thing I detest about this game is the fishing portion. I mean what the heck was the point of making the easiest thing to do in real life impossible to do in a game? Other than that, I was very happy with my overall experience with the game.

I remember Grand Theft Auto when Liberty City was Brocklyn, Kings, the Brix, Manhattan Island, and Staten Island. I remember when they changed Liberty City to Portland Island, Staunton Island, and Shoreside Vales for Grand Theft Auto III. The graphics were better. Now they've changed Liberty City to Broker, Dukes, Bohan, and Algonquin Island. The graphics are photo realistic. They shouldn't have changed Liberty City in the first place. Besides that it's good. I took a white getting used to the cover system after being used to the smart aim. The driving's unrealistically bad. And the police officers last unrealistcally longer than they did in previous games. Niko Bellic has nothing on CJ or Tommy Vercetti!

So my first impression of this controller was that it feels cheap. The plastic housing just feels light and cheap, not at all like the Sony controller.

This unit also doesn't include bluetooth, so you loose the ability to power on your PS3 like you have on the normal controller.

It works a lot like the PS2 wireless controllers in that you plug in a USB wireless transmitter into the PS3 and play through that.

It does have several nice options. The turbo selector allows 3 different rates of fire, along with the option to have auto fire where you don't even have to press the button. That is a great option for any shooter. There is also a sensitivity adjustment for the analog control sticks. I also really like that it uses AA batteries since I have a good supply of rechargeable batteries.

But my first big issue is that it doesn't appear to work on PS2 or PS1 games. Pretty much any time the PS3 does the soft reset to start those games the controller looses sync. It works just fine with any game that doesn't involve that reset (PS3 games, or anything downloaded from PSN).

So if you just need a turbo controller for PS3 or PSN games, this is about your only choice. But don't expect to use it on any of your older games. Since this does everything but older games and feels cheap, I had to give it 4 stars. It's good, but not perfect.

I bought this controller just for Call of Duty 4. I have mixed feeling about using it. First the controller is pretty well built doesn't feel cheap. The turbo feature works really well for me since I prefer the single shot rifles and I am able to use it as a full automatic weapon. BUT!!! it is hard to aim with this controller. The analog stick is very sensitive. Even with sensitive setting set to the lowest, I am still aiming wildly. I am able to aim if I move the analog stick very lightly, but it's very slow that way. Maybe it's because I only had it for two days and still use to.

UPDATE.

I just noticed the sensitivity option in the game menu. After it to low, the controller works much better.

Buy Playstation 3 HORI PAD 3 Turbo Wireless - Silver Now

First off, I bought this from electrogalaxy on Monday and had it before the weekend in perfect condition. Excellent work on their and UPS's part.

Second, this controller is perfect for me. Maybe they've changed the quality since the last reviewer bought it, because it doesn't at all feel cheap. The plastic's actually much smoother and more polished looking than the sixaxis.

A possible downside might be the smaller, concave analog sticks. They're actually better for sensitive movements, but it's hard to adjust from the giant analog sticks on the official Dualshock/Sixaxis line of controllers.

The features all work perfectly. This is really THE controller to have if you're playing Call of Duty 4. For instance, CoD4 doesn't allow you to switch between firing modes. However, with the turbo, you can turn a single fire rifle into a burst or even full auto rifle. Nice.

The sensitivity adjuster is also great. Some shooters (CoD4 in particular) haven't struck a proper balance between sensitivity in first person mode, and in sniper scope mode. This makes it much more difficult than necessary to switch between the two. The sensitivity switch on the analog has proven very effective. It's also useful because sensitivity often translates to how quick you can turn around (and you ideally want to be able to turn around quickly and then have enough control to take down anyone on your six). Make sure you give the instructions a quick read, though. The sensitivity switch was counter-intuitive for me (i.e the diagram makes it look like the least sensitive setting is on the left, when it's actually on the right), so at first I wasn't happy with it.

The controller takes AA batteries. A usb charger system would probably be more convenient (especially as I have a usb extension cord and a laptop right by my gaming area), but, I also have plenty of rechargeable AA's-as do most people nowadays. Just be aware you might need to grab an extra pack, as none are included.

The only real flaw is the lack of bluetooth, which doesn't bother me considerably. You can keep a sixaxis around to power it remotely and then tap the ps button on the Hori and use it. Not a big deal to me anyway, as I have my gaming system setup in such a way that I have to turn stuff on manually (and also I like to switch off my ps3 rather than leaving it running in standby). However, if it does concern you, you can just use the regular controller as a remote and still use the Hori quite simply.

All in all, it's a great controller that's enhanced my gaming experience. I hope they expand the features at some point to switch between programmable button sets like the Thrustmaster controller has. I'm also getting one of those for my friends to play with (so rather than going into the menu every time they switch controller, they can program their button configuration once and press a button to switch them.) It doesn't look nearly as good as this one though.

If you want turbo and analog sensitivity, you won't go wrong here. I'll post back if any issues about longevity come into play, but even if they do I'd probably replace it without any fuss.

The HORI PAD 3 Turbo is a fine controller. The turbo button works great for the "shooter games"; I use it with COD4 and turn all the semi auto guns to full auto. It's cool that you can set up ANY button with the turbo. I'd say the biggest down side to this controller is that its nipples are vary small but after playing with them for a while you get used to it. It also feels kind of cheap but I'll take it for the price. Overall I am happy with it.

I read various reviews about this controller. Some good some bad. Still I purchased it on recommendation from another online player.

I only play Tiger Woods Golf (08 & 09) with it, so my experience is limited to this franchise only.

This was purchased mainly for the Turbo function, however I can get 105% 118% by using tap.

Virtually don't have to worry about Hook or Slice.

This controller may not work as well in other games, but my experience in Tiger has been great!

Wish I had purchased it sooner.

With this review I will briefly cover Max Payne 3 as a game. I will not go into too much detail, but instead cover some common issues other players have had with the game. I will also skip talking about the multiplayer since I do not play a huge amount online myself. I will try to give a bit more detail for the Special Edition content, which includes my quick video on most of the content.

The first thing worth mentioning about Max Payne 3 is the amount of detail in the environments. I say this because so many have complained about the graphics in Max Payne 3. Yet every single location you play through looks so believable, no environment looks vacant of life or detail. Just as impressive is how varied these environments are. You will play through apartment buildings, a cemetery, a prison, and so on. Sure these kinds of environments are almost common place in most action games, but in Max Payne 3 they have a level of detail that is so impressive you can't help but appreciate them more.

Now as far the character models are concerned, I will admit they are a bit disappointing. I would not say the character models look horrible or anything since they all do have good detail, but their facial expressions do leave a little to be desired. Facial animations simply don't look as detailed as other games on the market, which can be important for a game heavy on story telling. However, character animations certainly help make up for this, they are simply amazing. Every movement Max, his allies, and his enemies make look fantastic and again believable. From simple running movements, to being shot (which can look incredibly violent at times), or just a character tumbling from a platform, nothing looks terrible or even close to bad. Rockstar clearly put time into these details, almost as much, if not more than they did for the environments.

Gameplay wise, Max Payne 3 does not stray too far from the first two games in the series. As you take out enemies your bullet time meter fills up, once you have the amount you need you can trigger it to slow down time. Enemies, bullets, grenades, and other hazards are easier to avoid in bullet time, not to mention how impressive the feature still looks. Shoot dodge also returns, letting you dodge in any direction (left, right, forward, or backwards) in slow motion. This time around you do not even need to have any bullet time in your bullet time meter to use shoot dodge (although some will be consumed if you do use shoot dodge while having bullet time left).

A new feature to the Max Payne series is the ability to use cover. Some have had a real issue with this feature; arguing that it somewhat ruins the game and makes it feel like every other 3rd person perspective shooter on the market today. While I can understand these feelings, I would argue it is a matter of player preference. While there are some moments where you do not have much choice but to use cover to take enemies out from a distance, there are also plenty of opportunities to use shoot dodge and bullet time. Once you have a good feel and understanding of your environments, using shoot dodge and bullet time become your real ticket to success. This is especially true on the harder difficulties where overusing cover can lead to death quickly since you're basically stationary.

A common complaint many players seem to have with Max Payne 3 that I totally agree with is the flawed checkpoint system. Many have had issues with where checkpoints are placed during gameplay, and the lack of more of them. Like I said, I agree with this since too often during certain areas of the game you take out a large number of enemies but you don't get a checkpoint. Instead you have to push forward and encounter another group of enemies, and unfortunately if this group manages to kill you, it is back to the old checkpoint no matter how many of them you just took out. This is especially annoying later in the game when the difficultly goes up a bit. Don't get me wrong, this does not ruin the game or anything, but more checkpoints (especially between large groups of enemies) would have prevented some annoying moments during the single player experience.

Perhaps the biggest issue some players have had with Max Payne 3 is the feeling that this installment in the Max Payne series is not really a Max Payne game, that it does not resemble the first two games enough. I can somewhat understand this, since the first two games were so established in New York City. New York really had a dark and gritty feel while Max 3 has a more bright sun drenched look. It definitely can seem like a big contrast; however Brazil (where part 3 takes place) still has the gritty atmosphere of the first two games. Max also retains that dark (and amusing) inner monologue from the first two games. Basically, the elements that made Max Payne 1 and 2 (the atmosphere, the characters, the dialogue) are still present in Max Payne 3. The story may not be as well executed at times, and certain effects during cutscenes can seem overused, but overall Max Payne 3 is definitely a Max Payne game.

Now as far as the Special Edition is concerned, there are some nice items for hardcore Max Payne fans. Below is a breakdown of these items:

1. Max Payne Statue Without question many will buy this Special Edition for the Max Payne statue, and for the most part it is worth the money. The statue is huge, even taller than my Cole MacGrath statue from the Infamous 2 Hero Edition. The statue also has nice details, including a bullet wound on Max's shoulder, a bullet hole in his suit coat, shells on the floor he is standing on, and so on. All of these things are a nice touch, and it also helps that the paint job seems to be of high quality. However there is one problem. As detailed as the statue is, the face does not resemble Max's very much. Don't get me wrong it does not look terrible, but it seems to have the same problem as the Cole MacGrath statue I mentioned before. The Cole statue is also very detailed but unfortunately the face does not resemble the actual character enough. I do not know if this is a common problem with these character statues since I don't have many, but both the Max Payne and Cole MacGrathe statues share this issue. Despite this I do not want to make it seem like this is a deal breaker, it is not. The statue still looks great, has nice details, and looks even better on display.

2. Bullet Key Chain A very cool item that I think most will actually end up using. Now this in not some cheap plastic key chain, it actually feels like it could be a real hollowed out bullet (never held a real bullet myself, so can't say for sure). The bullet end can be screwed open to store small items inside like pills and such. The Max Payne 3 and Rockstar logo can be found on the bullet as well.

3. Lithograph/Art Cards The Special Edition also includes 4 art cards or lithograph prints. These in all fairness are not too special. They depict things like bullet shells, painkillers, and so on. Again not terrible but perhaps they could have chosen better art to depict, maybe actual scenes from the game.

4. Official Soundtrack Within the game case is a code to download the soundtrack. You have to go to a website for the game, enter the code, and an e-mail will be sent to you so you can make your download. The soundtrack is just over 80 minutes and is definitely worth a listen.

5. Classic Character Pack and Disorderly Conduct Weapons Pack Also within the game case is another code to download some additional characters and weapons for multilayer. If you plan on playing online, this should be worthwhile.

Max Payne 3 really is a great action game and a great game period. It is not perfect, but the good aspects without question outweigh the bad ones. The Special Edition just adds more value to an already great package. For the right price I would totally recommend the Special Edition to anyone. If you're not interested in any of the Special Edition content, then definitely get the standard edition, I doubt you will regret the experience or purchase.

What Max Payne 3 does it does well. Unfortunately it doesn't do a whole lot.

PROS:

Presentation -

This is a must for any Max Payne as the first two entries in the series are loaded with great presentation. Gone is the comic book style of story telling. Instead the game will take a freeze frame of the current cut scene and move it off to one side of the screen while keeping the rolling cut scene going in the other half of the screen. Choice words from the narrative are also displayed on screen in big block letters. This provides a stylized manner of display not seen in any other game and it really works well while keeping something of a modern day comic book feel to it.

Style -

The majority of the game will take place in warm weather locations though there are some levels in the snowy city streets that previous Max Payne games are known for. But each locale brings a noir style feel to it familiar to MP and MP2. Max Payne himself is a likeable and deeply fleshed out character that is anything but cliche. He's very vulnerable, long in the tooth, has put on a few pounds and just seems tired and in need of a drink all the time. This lends to the believability considering the hell that he has gone through. Though you will mow down countless hundreds of enemies, you never feel like some cliche unstoppable warrior that's 10 feet tall and bulletproof. He doesn't make corny and cheesy one liners and instead says the kinds of things that you could really expect someone to say in a given situation. If anything some of the things he says are kind of nerdy or old fashioned which actually makes him more likeable.

Incredible animations -

Enemies walk, run and die in realistic looking ways. Some enemies will fall right over, others will clutch a spurting artery and writhe on the ground for several seconds before finally succumbing to their injuries. Max Payne is also animated well. When you kill the final enemy in a group of enemies the game will go into a slow motion mini cut scene of the kill shot which you can slow down further by holding the X button. It's very satisfying to watch your bullet travel from the barrel of your gun through the air and then explode through an enemy's face. The gore is also very realistic looking, especially on head shots, as the exit wound will actually mushroom the enemy's head outwards.

Detailed Levels -

Each level has an excellent amount of detail, whether it be a shanty town of tin roof shacks, a soccer stadium or a snowy graveyard, all of the levels look great and have a great amount of things to look at.

Music/Sound -

The sounds are great and if you have a good system the explosions and such feel right at home. The music, especially towards the end of the game, is really awesome and sets up the perfect atmosphere.

CONS:

Lack of variety -

There's nothing here that hasn't been done in other games before. In a nutshell you will be taking cover and popping out to shoot enemies until they're all gone, move forward to the next room, rinse, repeat. There are a few scenes where an NPC will drive a vehicle and you'll shoot from a moving vehicle, but that's really the only break from the standard cover-and-shoot gameplay.

Controls -

Don't get me wrong, the controls aren't horrible, but for a game where all you really do is shoot, it seems like the control scheme would have been flawless. Successfully getting behind cover can be hit or miss when you press the square button. The L2 button locks your crosshair onto an enemy but at times it will choose an enemy in the back or an enemy behind cover rather than the one that's close to you and shooting you, which allows that enemy to get some easy shots on you. And my biggest complaint of all is if an enemy bum rushes your position. This where Max Payne is supposed to enter a melee mode where he'll hit the enemy with his gun and then finish them with a point blank shot. Unfortunately I found that he would only enter the melee mode about 25% of the time, and the other 75% of the time the enemy would walk right up on me and destroy me with point blank shots while I tried to move a clunky crosshair to his position in close quarters.

Glitches -

These were few and far between but were definitely noticeable. In one particular scene, Max Payne plays a piano. In my game his arms glitched out and turned around backwards and wrapped around his body which looked ridiculous. There are also some areas where Max Payne will be talking to himself and if you run too far forward before he's finished talking, he'll start another area where he's talking to himself, and the two dialogues will overlap simultaneously.

Story -

This was a bummer, as MP and MP2 had great story lines. Don't get this confused with presentation or style, as both of those are great, but the actual story just isn't all that interesting and at times you wonder what reason Max Payne really even has to pursue the villains other than a paycheck from his employer. This pales in comparison to the reasons he had to fight in the first two games.

CONCLUSION:

Not a bad game and definitely fun to play, but started to get a little boring towards the end mostly because of the lack of variety in the things you will do. You can only take cover and pop out to kill enemies for so long before it starts to become tedious and better guns and tougher enemies do little to change that. If you were a fan of the first two games you'll probably like this one as well, just don't expect anything to blow you away about it.

The idea of a single powered port to charge all three of the Playstation Move's DualShock3/SixAxis controller, Move controller and Navigation controller sounds like a perfect trifecta. The slim external power supply plugs into the wall AC outlet as usual. The Move Controller stands vertical in a depression, allegedly supported by a couple of spring-loaded pressure pads around the circular port. It's not very stable and has a tendency to fall over at the slightest disturbance, such as when plugging the DualShock3/SixAxis controller into its charging port, but it does charge. The Navigation controller doesn't have enough weight to seat firmly in either charge port, and only charges if I stand there and press down lightly on it. (It would appear a second Move controller could charge in the second spot instead of the Navigation controller, if you have two Move controllers and no Navigation controller.) The Dualshock3/Sixaxis controller connects firmly to a fixed mini-USB plug on the device and charges fine (might have been more convenient for that mini-USB plug to be on the opposite side from the power cord, so the power could go off to the rear and the Dualshock controller could plug into the easily accessible front, but that's a small point.)

There are bright LED lights ringing the two Move controller charge ports, which change colors according to charge. That's a useful indicator, but it's so bright it illuminates a darkened room like a night light.

Summary: Charges the Dualshock3 and Move controllers fine, has trouble with the lighter-weight Navigation controller.

I figured this would be a good addition to my new Move set up. The playstation eye takes up one of the two usb ports on the slim PS3 so you are left with the option of only charging one other controller at a time. This item circumvents that problem by allowing me to charge 3 controllers without the system on.

Like another review stated, the system is kind of delicate to the touch. I don't have the navigation controller so I cannot confirm that problem, but the Move controllers took a little finagling to get on the charger. Once you set it in there correctly with a little force they stay in and charge fine. I found the wrist strap can easily get in the way. It is very handy having the port on the back to charge the dual shock as well.

My main problem with this device is the LEDs used to indicate what state the charge is in. They are very bright and stay on as long as the station is plugged in. If the controllers are charged or no controllers are present the lights are a bright blue, when the controllers are charging they are bright red. This is annoying when watching tv (I placed the station behind the tv to hide it) and when it is dark in the room. I wish there was a way to turn those off or completely remove them. I've come to the conclusion to just unplug it when it's not really in use. There is no real point to have the controllers constantly plugged into the wall or have the lights constantly on anyway.

Overall I would recommend this product other than the slight annoyance with the lights. It is a nice way to charge everything at once and a nice stand for the Playstation Move controllers to stay in while they are not in use.

I read through the reviews and I was worried about the stability of the controllers while charging. I am currently living in a dorm room which should give you a fairly well image of the conditions of which the stand is at. I am able to bump the desk that it is and although the charging station does wobble more than I'd like;however, it is very stable and i have yet to have a controller get knocked out of charging or fall off. I highly recommend this product.

Only Complaint: I added an inexpensive outlet power switch in order to keep the unit powered down when not in use. This is a minor issue and is the only reason that I gave the unit 4 stars instead of 5.

Im gonna have to disagree with the previous reviews. I loved this game in its entirety. Considering how shallow the original one was and I still loved that one this was huge. Amazing graphics and fun gameplay. I dont think lack of blood is a reason to dislike a game, considering the blood in the dinos is plentiful. If you enjoyed the original at all this one will be amazing. A lot more options and much better dinosaur fighting action.

I am so tired of killing zombies! This is a great change to the normal shooter. Graphics are amazing and the surround sound is amazing. It does a great job of dumping you in the jungle and making you feel like you're fighting for your life. Who doesn't like dinosaurs?

I played the demo for this game when it came out, and I liked it so I decided to buy the full game. In my opinion, Propaganda Games has done an excellent job re-imagining Turok for next-gen consoles, even if it is a little rough around the edges. Namely, the save system is a bit frustrating, and the shooting mechanics are a bit jumpy do to excessive screen shaking (if you turn down the sensetivity a notch or two though, the aiming is much better). Also, a minor complaint I had is that it should have been gorier. They don't shy away from the splatter when you kill Dinosaurs, but unfortunately, killing enemy soldiers is practically G-rated (I'm guessing it's because Disney isn't quite ready to deal with Jack Thompson yet). I suggest you ignore the haters and try the game for yourself before you pass judgment. It's a decent shooter and a solid return for the Turok franchise. It's not as good as Call of Duty, but guess what? The original Turok wasn't as good as Goldeneye, but that didn't stop people from enjoying it. You'll either like this game or you won't, so I suggest you try it for yourself.

Hopefully, Propaganda makes a good sequel to this game. They're a new developer, but I see a lot of potential in them. They just need to fix the shooting mechanics and save feature, and add the extra coat of visual polish that this game could have used (which is not to say it doesn't have good graphics, because for the most part it does) and they'll have a really good game on their hands.

Let me start off by saying I just took a shot in the dark on this one. I had never played the demo, and when I tried to find it on PSN a month ago it wasn't there. My curiosity didn't subside so I just went ahead and bought it. It was definitely worth it!

The first away from Acclaim, Turok has undergone a reboot of the story. This game unveils Turok's history with Wolfpack as he is now a member of Whiskey Company hunting down his former mentor to bring in for crimes. There is quite a large amount of cutscenes which unfolds this story the further through the game you get. While it is ultimately a forgettable plot, it held my attention to the end.

The use of the Unreal Engine is nice. The dinosaurs look great. Reflections are used and are very prevalent with waterfalls, water in general, and the knife/edge. Despite some negative reviews, I feel the textures are well done. Keep in mind this is a 2008 release. There are some rendering issues. Several times the game seemed to get ahead of itself and I would be watching a cutscene only to have the characters and room rendered about 3 seconds into it. There are also some choppy load points that can be frustrating when they happen unexpectedly and you are left making a move you'd rather not. There was also one major clipping issue during the second to last boss fight. Right before the battle I fell through the ground and all the way to sheer blackness. I had to restart at the last checkpoint, which fortunately was right before the battle so it didn't really matter much. This only happened once so all is forgiven.

My main issue with this game is the sheer difficulty. I honestly believe this is the most difficult game I have ever played. There are two choices when you start a new game, Normal and Hard. Well Normal feels like most games' Hard/Insane. Be prepared to die 25-50 times no joke. What's rough about that is the checkpoints are quite distant from each other making you replay a large chunk of game to get back to where you originally died. The load time to get back in action is also long. It's a double edged sword as I have never been so frustrated during gameplay but also never felt such a sense of accomplishment once finishing. Just be warned. Once you beat the game once you unlock Inhuman mode. I can safely say I will not even attempt this.

I think it's unfortunate this game didn't do better than it did. It received good reviews, yet the unannounced sequel is surrounded by doubt that it will ever be made. If there ever is a Turok 2 I will definitely pick it up.

I have been a massive Turok fan ever since the first game came out on the N64 back in 1997. The first 2 games are in my top 5 list of the greatest First Person Shooters ever. And as the 3 star rating suggests this is a good game but as a Turok game it fails and fails miserably.

Yes this game has raptors and a T-Rex, but that's really all the dinos this game has to offer. Where are the Pur-linn and Leapers? It is ESSENTIAL for a Turok game to have these enemies! And I also would have liked to see The Endtrails and Mantids from Turok 2 make an appearance.

The weapons are nothing worthy of the Turok name either. We have all the cliches: Shotgun, Automatic Rifle, Sniper Rifle, and Rocket Launcher ect. No one thought of including the legendary Cerebral Bore? Not to mention the QUAD rocket launcher, Shredder, Fusion Cannon all those cool over the top weapons that Turok is famous for.

I don't think I'm asking for too much. I did expect this came to follow some modern FPS trends like carrying a limited amount of weapons, regenerating health and those other things that Halo did so now EVERY FPS for some reason must also do. But ranting aside this is still a good game that has some exciting moments and beautiful graphics. And there were some entertaining boss battles. I would definitely rather play this than the snooze-fest that is the COD: Modern Warfare 2 single player campaign and it has more variety to make it better than Killzone 2.

After Turok 2, Turok just hasn't been Turok and this game does nothing to change that.

Ok so im here to write a detailed review on this product, it comes in a plastic see through container like most controllers and it requires you put the usb that came with it into the ps3, then using the cord you got with the ps3 (fat parallelogram thingy) you sync it to your ps3 like normal alright now to get to the basics, the controller DOES have vibration like a normal ps3 controller and every thing works just fine, the one major problem i found was the left and right keys on the D-Pad did not function like everything else, you had to push really hard on it in order for it to work so i used the left wheel like thing to make messages with, and i don't know if it matters or not but my ps3 has the most recent update and is a Super Slim with a sliding tray not like the ones that pop out it slides from right to left but be aware its not for moving, i moved my ps3 to the living room to play on the big screen but in the middle of it the usb came loose so i thought nothing of it until when i tried using the controller, the usb turned out to be broke, i didn't run into anything yet the usb was loose and no longer lit up so in other words it was un-usable therefore i threw it away and just to be certain its not worth the price, sure i had fun with it but in the end its just a cheap throw away item like most other things. Be aware it works just like a normal controller but DO NOT MOVE otherwise your safe. Sorry for a long review but you Need the facts unlike other comments with poor grammar and hateful words. Thank you for reading and hope you found it useful!

Well, it gets the job done anyway. It is generic, so you get what you pay for. My kids loved the color and they don't mind playing with it at all. I would rather have a SONY brand so as to do away with the USB that has to be plugged in while playing with this controller. :(

" spider man, spider-man does whatever a spider can"... and Now hes Swinging onto the Playstation 3... following the blockbuster film..we now get to see the wall crawler's adventures in the next gen format..and let me tell you..its Incredible!...

the graphics are Phnominal...they are really detailed talking full advantage of the power of the ps3 spider-man has never looked better. then theres New york city itself..very detailed..well lit and huge(well its nyc what did you expect)

you have total freedom to swing around and check out the town, see the local wildlife(venom, and the lizard etc) snap some pics for jolly jonah..and stop an occasional crime or two.its all here in spider-man 3...plus lots of surprises..

the controls are tight, and responsive..activision upgraded the web swinging..and you can tell..its more fluid..and easier to navigate. but there are some minor issues such as the camera..sometimes it is more awkward than useful but thats like in the other spider man games as well..so its to be expected.. some people have said there are bugs in it and it feels rushed..i dont think so..you cant please everybody.

the core actors are back to voice their characters in the game such as tobey maguire (peter parker/spider-man) james franco(harry osborn/new goblin) as well as j.k. simmons( j. jonah jameson any scene with him is a winner and always cracks me up !) and lets not forget Bruce campbell as "the narrator" and your instructor(with his trademark comments) in the first training level.. having the actors do the voiceovers adds a quality touch to the game, and gives you that movie feeling.

there are many levels in this game, as well as the before mentioned surprises , such as being able to switch to any level you choose with the map of nyc(nice touch there) you can play through the game and EVENYUALLY meet up with Venom and the sandman or just jump around and snap some pics for the Bugle, chase down some crooks...take mary jane for a ride though the city..its all here.

the coolest features is having the Black costume..the alien symbiote..that enhances peter's powers making him more aggressive and stronger.. if you get the collectors edition..you also have the ability to play harry osborn the new goblin ( or green goblin 2 as hes known as in the comics) plus in the collectors edition you get a nice action shot from the film as well as the trailers, and web documentaries..good stuff to check out..

my only gripe about these 2 are that YOU HAVE TO UNOCK THEM..its misleading and once again treyarch/activision has it in small print inside the manual its very dishonest if you ask me.. just like the stunt they did with the "playable" venom back in the lack luster ultimate spider man... but this game is really good, so ill let it slide..it makes up for "usm" they have done a great job on all the movie games.

if your looking for a great spiderman game..and have a playstation 3 grab this title..your in for a wild ride.. THWIPP!!!

Now this is what I'm talking about!!!

This game is really cool. I have not been able to put it down. I haven't completed it yet, but here it goes. I never had a chance to play Spiderman 2 on the PS2, but I know that this installation is 10 times exponentially more fun than the 1st SM (Spiderman). The free roam ability is reminiscent of the Grand Theft Auto series along with the many missions. There are also sub missions where you have to stop crimes in progress while just swinging through the city by fighting against the different crime gangs. It says there are 42 missions. And these missions are very detailed & in depth I must add. I completed the 1st Lizard mission & the large underground sewer environment in this mission is awesome. I completed the 1st Scorpion mission which took place on an island fortress that was also very detailed & the graphics were great. I have unlocked the New Goblin playable character & I have only completed a couple of mission/races with him but the 6 AXIS control is really, really, cool. You actually steer the glider by articulating the controller. I REALLY LIKE THIS. The detail of NYC is very accurate down to the missing twin towers :-(. Times Square actually has the advertisement monitors on the side of the buildings that have real ads. What's really cool is the lighting & detail in these ads. The swing controls of SM are very good. My only complaints are that are when I was fighting the Scorpion there was "selective damage" to him in the fight. During the fight I was able to inflict damage, but at other parts of the fight my attacks just passed through him & did no damage. This happened a lot during the fight. WTF developers?! This was very annoying... Also there are instances where you have to pick up an object or interact with the environment by pressing the square button. Example, I was on a mission where the clock was ticking & I had to get rid of a bomb. When standing in front of the bomb the square action button appears on the screen. Well, if you are standing in the wrong spot & press the square button, SM will perform attacks instead. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING.... My last gripe would be & I don't feel that it could have been addressed because SM can climb walls & he is in weird positions sometimes, is the camera angles are confusing & you don't know where you are. I usually end up just jumping to the ground to figure out where I am. Other than these complaints the game is excellent. I am glad that Sony developers finally created a game for the PS3 that is worthy of the system's potential. This is what I call a next generation game.

If you are a fan of the other two games you'll sure love this one.

Graphics:

The new next-gen graphic are amazing, to give you an idea, they are a lot like the movie sequences of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Storyline:

Follows the movie pretty closely, with two added things; Scorpion and five gangs of New York, each one has its own little back story. Although it will start off a little slow, the plot picks up after a while

Game-play and controls:

If you're used to spiderman 2 controls, you can pretty much forget them. Although the simple, basic layout is the same, all combos are different. But you'll get used to the new ones and move on. New York has been beefed up and you can now explore more of it. (you can also swim). The biggest change is you "spidy-sense", which you use to help you complete tasks by pointing out important things

Benefit of Special Edition:

YOU CAN PLAY AS THE HOB GOBLIN! You also have access to commentary and other such features.

Conclusion:

Pros:-Same great gameplay of spiderman 2

-Bigger new york

-Spidy-sense

-Play as the Hob Goblin

-Improved graphics

Cons:-Slippery controls

-Somewhat confusing camera view when climbing

-Farly steep learning curve (A.K.A. a hard game at a lot of points, especially for new or young gamers)

This game is fun and challenging... but not without bugs (no pun intended). I have seen arms going through walls, a lady's purse suspended in mid-air over, some sound crackles, etc. I still like the game.

Why did I hate this game?

-No ADS. And perhaps the most obtuse control scheme ever. You jump with triangle for crying out loud.

-Endless fetchquests

-Confusing level layout

-Tedius and boring minigames

-Repetitive gameplay

-Repetitive enemies

Don't believe the hype. Buy the much improved BioShock:Infinite instead.
