With the mic stand I bought, the lowest screw doesn't thread properly -it seems way too small for the screw hole. I can stand the thing up without tightening the now useless lower screw, but the stand is kind of wobbly. I put some electrical tape around the bottom pole to tighten the gap between the pole and the bottom sleeve which seems to help a bit. I'd be willing to spend a few dollars more, though, for a better made stand. FYI.

I bought this mic stand because it came with the needed 10' usb extension. The stand and the cable both work as expected and without problems. The stand itself seems to be a little on the lighter side, which might be a plus for some. As long as you don't swing it around like a weapon it's sure to last.

I bought this to use with both Guitar Hero (Rockband/Guitar Hero/Standard Logitech USB mics are the same) and real microphones. Its a pretty good deal as a kit stable tripod stand, 10ft usb extension, and a somewhat flimsy microphone clip (these normally aren't included). The stand is telescoping and can be set to be used comfortably from a couch or standing while playing guitar. For $20 this is a great deal

Like I said, this mic stand gets the job done. I didnt find it too unstable, like someone else mentioned, and there is a lot of room for adjustment. If you are looking for something to hold the mic while you play guitar, this is it. The only annoying this is the lack of a controller clip/cradle/whatever. You have to constantly bend over to pick up the controller from the floor when setting up the singer for each song, although thats not the worst thing in the world.

One warning for people trying to sing and play the guitar: remember that a few of the songs require you to tap the mic, which you obviously cant do while playing guitar. I have found that if you blow into the mic in short bursts, it will read as a tap, but its pretty difficult to do when trying to play any sort of complicated guitar part. Just my two cents.

If you are looking for a budget mic stands, look no further.
