The PSP launched in March 2005 with only a few games that really took advantage of its hardware or unique features. One of the few that did was Sony Online Entertainment's Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. It was a game that had potential, and that potential has been brought to another Sony launch, that of the PlayStation 3. How does SOE's Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom fare in the next-gen, non-handheld environment? To say it bluntly, fair. Very fair.

The Dark Kingdom suffix refers to the storyline's location of Dureth, a land victimized by dark magic, a demented king, and his legions of soldiers attacking defenseless, innocent civilians. Luckily for Dureth a group of gifted soldiers known as the Dragon Shade are there to save the day. From here one picks from three different Dragon Shade combatants: the brutish warrior, the swift scout, or the mystical mage. This begins a 20-hour adventure, as one of those characters sets out to discover what's driven the dark king to his madness.

Untold Legends feels a whole lot like every other 3D dungeon-crawling hack-and-slash. For the most part combat consists of mashing different combinations of the X and Square buttons to perform direct or sweeping attacks that absolutely devastate a pack of enemies. It's repetitive but that's to be expected from the genre and design. It's hard to grow tired of destroying a legion of skeleton swordsmen, to be entirely truthful. In fact, it's only when combat is taken away from the player that the game starts to become frustrating. Between hacking and slashing creatures the player will often perform jumping and platforming puzzles as well as some that will have one's head spinning for a moment before it is discovered what will allow one to move on. These puzzles go a long way towards making the game a little more than just a hack-and-slash, but at its core, that's all it really is anyway.

Leveling up is always enjoyable in RPGs (or should be) and Untold Legends is no different. Defeating enemies earns the player experience points that allow the character to level up. When leveled up, the character's stats can be increased (health, mana, melee damage, defense, etc.) and new magic attacks can be learned or strengthened. It is all too generous that Untold Legends allows the player to power up one of the nine magic skills at every level up; at level 45 one will have every single skill maxed out. Still, it's quite fun to beef up the characters. The game allows one to customize a lot; for example, it is possible to focus on strengthening melee damage and health points to make an indestructible warrior or emphasize ranged magic attacks and mana points for mages.

Throughout the game the player will also absorb essence from fallen enemies and destroyed objects (similar to Devil May Cry). Yellow essences act as currency and allow the player to purchase new item enhancements as well as red essences (heals the character) or blue essences (restores mana). Red and blue orbs are also found on fallen enemies. The only problem with the essence system is that the purpose of yellow orbs is defeated when one has to purchase pricey red and blue ones from save checkpoints if health or mana dips too low.

It hasn't yet been said but Untold Legends plays and looks a lot like Peter Molyneux's Xbox blockbuster Fable. One could take that two different ways. The first is as a compliment, because Untold Legends plays like one of the best Xbox games ever created, and this reviewer's personal favorite hack-and-slash game. The second is as a big insult, because a next-generation video game is being compared to a last-generation one. The combat system, essence-collecting, level-up system, and general gameplay mechanics are all remarkably similar.

Sadly, the visuals aren't much better. Untold Legends has pretty environments, lots of particle effects, and an interesting art design but the animation is just terrible. The Havok engine is put to use here but only sparingly. The camera is the bane of the entire game; it very often gets snagged on trees, boxes, or anything protruding from a wall. This results in it spinning wildly and the player taking extra time to figure out which direction to continue battling. At the very least, the music is pretty darn good and fits the environments and storyline quite well. It's just too bad that the sound effects don't compliment this for a great audio score, because they're very dull and powerless.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is a fun game. It is quite fun to play alone for 20 hours or online with three other friends (it's even free, and one can use the experience earned here in the single-player game). Hacking and slashing might be mindless but it doesn't feel too boring or old in Dark Kingdom. Still, a few problems like ho-hum effects and a bad camera keep it from being a truly great game. Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is worthy of purchase for those PlayStation 3 owners looking for something to keep them busy until bigger titles come out next year, but that's all.

This is an mediocre and disappointing title. I'm a big fan of co-op play with the Baulder's Gate and Champions of Norrath series...this game is in that hack-n-slash, half-RPG and half-adventure game mode, but it leaves alot to be desired for a "next-gen" game.

The game feels like it was originally designed for PS2 and at some point in production was deemed to be needed as a PS3 launch title. At the very least, its feels like it was rushed to launch either way. The graphics aren't bad, but in many parts on polished....some elements even look like they belong on PS2, which isn't good. But I could live with that if the gameplay was near the Baulder's or Champions level. It isn't. It is competent as a hack n' slash, but something is missing. Again, this isn't a bad game, just mediocre.

With co-op play, the game also has camera issues. Background elements like trees get in the way of seeing what is going on, and sometimes the camera doesn't follow well and you can get misdirected from the important acttion. It feels like the entire game was designed for a 1 player mode, where these issues largely cease to exist as the game is behind your character and lock to him/her. That is a problem as many who buy games like this do so to have a great multiplayer experience with friends.

I'm not upset that I bought this game, I just wished I had waited a while and bought it used. If you are a Baulder's/Champion fan or like hack n' slash RPGs, give this game a try after its used price drops below the $30 range. But don't get your hopes too high.

I have played untold legends games before, and they are all generally hack and slash, so this was to be expected. Still the graphics were pretty good and the storyline entertaining (played as the female). I also liked how the swords and armor looked different depending on what was equiped and which type. There were a few frustrating moments when the character got stuck on the side of a wall or boulder while fighting, but these were all momentary glitches. I bought this game used for a fraction of the price after reading all the poor reviews, but overall I found it a great game and a decent first try/quick release for the PS3.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is one of those games that doesn't have an inch of originality ANYWHERE. It's simply a game where you walk around slashing everything in sight. Of course, that alone is only a small bit of the problem. The main thing that makes this such a forgettable game is how the controls have a habit of not doing what you want them to do, which means, if a bunch of enemies are attacking you, good luck trying to defeat all of them. The controls aren't responsive and the whole game feels rushed. You might want to avoid this one.

Like many other PS3 launches, this game is below par. Firstly, the CGI storyline portion of the game was minimal. It's really dissapointing and less rewarding when you finish off levels and expect to be rewarded with a cool cut scene but faced with below par graphics. I really think the makers of this game (I believe it was Sony) rushed it to be among the few launch title of the PS3.

Speaking of graphics, the camera angle of the game was terrible. It's annoying when you fall of certain areas of the game because the camera was not aligned properly. You have three characters to choose from but really they are all similiar. Furthermore, the different characters do not have their own story line. The game was just about hacking and slashing endlessly. The ending totally blew it for me. It left me with that unsatisfied feeling. While some might like it, I absolutely hated it. I won't say much to spoil things.

Not all are bad though. I did enjoy some of the spells.

In conclusion, save your money and give this a miss (if you read many other reviews, they do say the same thing). It's time these game developers realize that they play an important role in making good fun and enjoyable games using the engine these new generation consoles provide. I'm tired of wasting money on games like this. If you want a better RPG game, go for the Marvel Ultimate Legends..seriously. The storyline was better. The game experience was better too.

On TV Superstars you can take part in different TV shows and reach fame. As you progress in the game, your face will be seen on magazines, billboards and TV ads. There are 6 different shows: frockstar, Let's Get Physical, Big Beat Kitchen, DIY RAW, Let's Get Physical Reloaded and the Super Television Acting Agency.

frockstar: the objective is being successful as a model. You will have to dress yourself with clothes, apply make up to your face and hit the catwalk for a fashion show.

Let's Get Physical: physical challenges are waiting for you. You will run on a giang spinning wheel trying to avoid being hit from a robotic money waring boxing gloves, load yourself into a giant catapult and hit targets in certain body positions, and even hit a giant robot with your body.

Big Beat Kitchen: it's a food show in hip hop style. You'll have to prepare recipes for american pancakes, fajitas, curry and italian spaghetti. You will also need to rap with the show host to become a top chef.

DIY RAW: you'll be able to make a extreme makeover on different apartments. On the living room, remove plaster from walls with a hammer and paint the walls. On the kitchen, cut up some wood with your saw to finish the floor and paint some tiles and fix them onto the wall. Next, you will have to select the new furniture before the owners of the house return. Everything you do must be according to the profile of the home owners, and they will be your judge.

Let's Get Physical Reloaded: in the same style of Let's Get Physical, but with different challenges. shoot dools of the TV hosts with tennis balls, and play a game similar to paint by numbers with a paintball.

Super Television Acting Agency (STAA): this is where you record TV commercials. Practice your acting skills to sell different products, from toilet cleaner to soccer shoes, and record a line to go along with your ad. Once you successfully recorded a commercial, it may be played occasionally when you play other shows, with your face, voice and signature on it.

Each show, except STAA, have up to 4 different options (cities/recipes/apartments). There are currently no expansions available on the PS Store.

You can play this game in a singleplayer mode, or in multiplayer mode with up to 4 players at the same time. A Move motion controller is required for each player, and the navigation controller isn't necessary for this game. The maximum resolution of TV Superstars is 720p.

There are many 'guest' characters available, but you may create your own with your face, voice and signature! The game uses the Eye camera to take 3 pictures of your face (normal, happy and angry), the Eye microphone to record a catchphrase and you write your own signature or autograph on the screen with the Move controller. After these steps, you can customize skin colors, head shape, haircut and so on.

There are 50 trophies available, and all of them are extremely easy to achieve, but some of them require 3 or 4 players. To have an idea, you get the "Getting Started in the Fame Game" trophy just to play the game once. The golden trophies, such as "Ultimate TV Superstar!", can be achieved in a single day of heavy gameplay.

The games for the Move require some calibration, but usually at the beginning of the game. With TV Superstars, you must calibrate the Move controller each and every time you play a different show.

And the loading times... Well, are way above the average. You have to wait the game to load for everything: to start a show, to start playing in the show, to end a show, to go back to the lounge, and so on. If you are not patient, you probably won't like this game. If you are playing with little kids, they will get bored and may lose focus during the loading periods.

Despite the calibration and loading issues, the games/shows are extremely fun and are not hard to play. The game is suitable for all kind of people, from kids to seniors, and is great for parties. Everybody will have a blast when they see a commercial with somebody they know, and just the process of creating a new character is worth the fun.

Great option of game if you are looking for something to help you keep your family members closer to each other.

If you are looking for an entertaining and fun game, suitable for all ages, this is the game for you.

One user mentioned that this game was geared towards teen girls. I disagree! Though this game is very family friendly, it can be fun for any age! My boyfriend had some friends over and they had a blast making everyone's character and recording catchphrases. The guys also had a good laugh over the fashion show game-seeing their photos on characters wearing ridiculous outfits. Such a great group game.... good icebreaker for get-togethers. Just too funny! We love TV Superstars!!

I bought this Game for the Move since my Daughter loved playing the Demo that came with the Bundle.

She loves the full game even more... Create your in game avatar using 3 pictures taken with the Eye (Normal, Happy and Mad faces) and then you speak and record your own catch phrase or greeting which is saved and used for each game.

The games are fun and replayable, but I hope they have some add on content soon that would make this game even better.

I picked this up wanting a game that wasn't about killing and fighting and something that young kids (7-10) could both master and enjoy. I'm not disappointed.

The game is obviously platformed for kids. It's not too difficult and actually acts as an excellent tutorial on working the controller's many buttons and levers.

Aside from the actual game, there's also a mini-arcade, which consists of several stand-alone games which can be played one by one or on a tournament basis. Up to eight players can play at one time.

The game allows you to chose between several characters and pick your own musical selections and locations, keeping it from getting too boring. If you're looking for something the whole family can enjoy, this is a good bet.

My daughter and I played the first Madagascar and had a ball. It's nice to see that the second Activision movie tie-in is also lots of fun. Both movie games take the tack of not trying to walk you through the movie but instead focusing on the basic plot elements and wrapping them around fun things to do.

In Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa, you take the role of each of the main characters in the movie. You wander around the landscape fairly openly, switching from one to another at will. As you interact you can decide to help various other characters, and that's what drives the gameplay. For example, Alex the lion scares off a series of other lions by roaring at them, one at a time. Gloria the hippo tucks herself into a ball and "bowls a strike", trying to knock over all ten pins. The games get more complicated--you play the penguins driving a jeep, and have to ram each car in a convoy in succession, and each needs to be hit a number of times.

The biggest success of this game however, is that it plays to its audience. Escape from Africa brings something to the table for children small and not-so-small. Tough quests aren't necessary. Failing a game gives you the option of going and doing something else. As I watched my 10-year-old daughter play, I also noticed that if she had a bit of trouble with a game--but tried it again--the game made itself progressively easier. Imagine the difficulty being like a "Pitch til U Win" game at the carnival.

This might also be its downside: older children highly experienced with these games might say, "That was too easy"...but still get a giggle or two. Younger children will be happy to have something they can play that also surrepetitiously gives them a helping hand. Either way, I can say that the content is perfect for families not only because nothing's inappropriate, but also because nothing is boring. Highly recommended for fans of the movie.

Bought two of these and wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised how it worked playing nhl13 on my ps3. The analog sticks were very precise for this game and nhl13 really stresses the sticks during gameplay. I've only had these two for a week so hoping they will not break.

"i have read reviews on these skins and if you have never installed skins before, you MUST read the directions and be very patient when you are installing the pieces. I recommend starting with the smaller pieces first. I use a squirt bottle with water and a little alchohol and spray it on the skin. my daughter was very impressed how well it looks and so was I. "

I read a lot of reviews about how hard the application would be but it was really easy for me once I read the instructions TWICE (which is stated to do in the instructions) I used a dish soap and water solution to apply the pieces and pressed out the air bubbles with a towel covered credit card and lightly air blew the system when finished. I took the advice of another poster of starting with the small pieces first which made the bigger piece less overwhelming. The ONLY downfall is that you had to kind of guess where the smaller pieces went sometimes because there was not any layout marking, but it was not that hard to get it together at all. Read the instructions, make the solution, and take your time. This was my first time installing one and all of my friends love it they think I actually bought a pink ps3.

Secondly, it is an adult game and should be treated as such. There IS some nudity, sexual content, and extreme violence and gore. This game is teeming with bonus contents and that only heightened my gaming experience.

With the mic stand I bought, the lowest screw doesn't thread properly -it seems way too small for the screw hole. I can stand the thing up without tightening the now useless lower screw, but the stand is kind of wobbly. I put some electrical tape around the bottom pole to tighten the gap between the pole and the bottom sleeve which seems to help a bit. I'd be willing to spend a few dollars more, though, for a better made stand. FYI.

I bought this to use with both Guitar Hero (Rockband/Guitar Hero/Standard Logitech USB mics are the same) and real microphones. Its a pretty good deal as a kit stable tripod stand, 10ft usb extension, and a somewhat flimsy microphone clip (these normally aren't included). The stand is telescoping and can be set to be used comfortably from a couch or standing while playing guitar. For $20 this is a great deal

Want Mic Stand / Bonus 10' USB Extension Cable Discount?

Like I said, this mic stand gets the job done. I didnt find it too unstable, like someone else mentioned, and there is a lot of room for adjustment. If you are looking for something to hold the mic while you play guitar, this is it. The only annoying this is the lack of a controller clip/cradle/whatever. You have to constantly bend over to pick up the controller from the floor when setting up the singer for each song, although thats not the worst thing in the world.

One warning for people trying to sing and play the guitar: remember that a few of the songs require you to tap the mic, which you obviously cant do while playing guitar. I have found that if you blow into the mic in short bursts, it will read as a tap, but its pretty difficult to do when trying to play any sort of complicated guitar part. Just my two cents.

If you are looking for a budget mic stands, look no further.
