Intec's wired G7784 controller for the PS3 is a decent third-party controller for the PS3. It has a relatively compact, shiny-black appearance that some will like and some won't. The button pad looks like all of the buttons are offset, giving what I felt was an appearance of the buttons being mis-applied during manufacturing, though they are obviously solidly imprinted just like Sony's controllers and are unlikely to wear unless you take abrasives to them. The pad comes with a USB cord about 3.7m (12ft) long, which should be plenty for most people and roughly third longer than Sony's PS2 controllers.

Intec's controller is smaller than Sony's Sixaxis or Dualshock controllers, 14cm wide to Sony's 16cm, and that makes a difference. People who don't mind a smaller, heavier controller won't have a problem, but those who may prefer larger controllers will find this uncomfortable, I don't mind Sony's controllers but I found this to be uncomfortable after stretches longer than a half hour. There are rubber grip pads on the outsides of the flared grips, but they have very small area and even the smallest sweat from your palms and fingers will make the mostly-slick-surfaced controller a little slippery, so they don't help at all some will even find them the ribbing in the pads to add discomfort, especially if you tend to grip your controller tightly. The controller is also heavy, given the size I found it to be slightly awkward.

The analog sticks are very sensitive, but I found all of the other buttons to be less responsive I had to hit the D-pad and x-button slightly harder to get it to give the same response as Sony's Sixaxis, and the shoulder buttons are significantly less sensitive. This is a problem, since the buttons are smaller than the Sixaxis and closer to flush with the controller, which exacerbates the control issue. People needing reliability or precision for action or FPS games will find this an issue.

The main controller appears solidly constructed but the buttons begin to lose some sensitivity after just a couple weeks of use: I have to mash the shoulder buttons just to get them to respond. The analog sticks have the reverse problem: they were extremely sensitive to start with, and sometimes the camera (right stick) will drift or a small tap on the left stick will make the game make a wide turn instead of a small turn. While playing Strikeforce sometimes it will start flipping around through target lock-on (controlled with the right stick) when I'm not even touching the controller. They're solid and I thought that was a good thing with as much abuse as Dark Cloud 2 was putting on the controllers (requiring a hard R3/L3 input to switch characters) but Intec's G7784 just doesn't seem to be able to stand up to the challenge of regular gameplay outside of that.

Good if you need a heavy controller and expect to put a lot more wear on the control sticks than any buttons, but the smaller size is likely to put off many players and the insensitivity of the shoulder buttons is a significant drawback. The turbo function seems to work (the only game I had that could use the function was the PS1 Chrono Trigger for button-mashing mini-games). There is a good rumble function but no six-axis support. There is a working "PS Home" button that can use the menu to turn off the console just like Sony's, but unlike Sony's you can't turn it on from the controller (Sony's wireless will send a "wake up and sync" signal if the red light is on). Start and Select buttons are both on the right side of the 'PS Home' button, the turbo and clear buttons on the left side, the buttons are slightly smaller than Sony's and I found the buttons to feel a little cramped. A set of four red LED lights on the top above these indicate which player spot the controller has.

This is a low-budget controller, but if you're looking for something that will provide consistent precision for yourself or a friend then be prepared to spend more money elsewhere. If it wasn't for "drifting" when I wasn't touching the analog sticks I'd say this was a good deal, but because of that issue and stiff, small shoulder buttons I'd have to recommend you look elsewhere for a good third-party controller.

This is by far the worst controller I have ever bought. It's small in size but the biggest problem is that the L2 and R2 buttons don't work properly. When you press either the L2 or R2 buttons they barely work. If you want a good controller, Do Not Buy This One.

I'm physically disabled but also a hardcore gamer (go figure). Recent games, such as Resident Evil 6 were obviously not made with me in mind, so I'm forced to make alterations and use devices like this for button mashing. For that purpose, this works just fine. However, I cannot use this for full-time gaming. I switch from my regular controller and back when a button-mashing sequence comes up. Otherwise, the buttons are too small for everything else.

Nevermind what those others said about this controller. They bought their controllers either used from a previous owner who failed to take good care of it or from some jerk who sells used items online and likes to sucker people in by claiming they're brand-new. I purchased this controller brand-new (I can tell the difference between a never-before-opened package & a previously-opened-and-resealed package) and it works great! All of the buttons work properly, they don't stick and the turbo is totally sweet! Don't be fooled by people who insist on blaming the manufacturer for the way a previous owner handled an item. I've used Intec's turbo controllers before (their awesome "Jedi Hunter" controller for PS2 and their "Jedi Vs. Sith" controller set for PS2) and enjoyed them immensely. This is the best one I've owned, thus far! If you're unsure about a seller, check out the Seller Feedback. If the negative & neutral feedback are greatly outnumbered by the positive feedback, that's a good seller. The negative feedback is from people who keep blaming the wrong people, like when the Post Office is careless with packages and the order arrives damaged as a result, they blame the seller for the Post Office's carelessness.

If you're expecting this package its going to come on the last day but the controller is in good shape and the turbofire works great on battlefield bad company 2 and it was a great price and I've had it for about 1-2 weeks now. Im glad with my purchase.
