For starters, the game is fantastic. The huge expansive world, literally limitless quests (seriously, certain areas will never stop generating quests), great gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and tons of weapons, armors, spells, etc. But I wanted to focus this review more on the collector's edition itself since if you've read any media outlets reviews, you already know the game is great.
The dragon statue is in two pieces. I very nicely detailed dragon that is about as high of quality as it could be without it being made of metal. The wall it sits on, however, is cheap looking "china plastic". From a distance, you won't notice the cheapness and the quality of the dragon overwhelms it. It looks pretty awesome I have to say.
The art book is also very high quality, with a thick leather (pleather) bound hard cover and nice thick quality pages.
If you get the PS3 edition (as I did) the making of disc will be a blu ray, whereas the PC and X360 get a dvd.
Finally the physical map. It is not cloth as I thought it would be, but instead an odd thick paper stock that is supposed to emulate that of parchment. I was disappointed that it wasn't cloth however I was pleased at the quality of the parchment style map. Just glad it wasn't plain old paper.
Overall, I was worried that I was going to be disappointed in the materials because of the high price point, but I was not. At $150, I figure $60 for the game, $40 for the art book, $40 for the figure, and $10 for the making of disc and map sounds about right given their quality.
If you don't have the money for the Collector's Edition, you can't go wrong with the game.

First off the PS3 version of this game did get quite a few bad reviews at first because of all the bugs and the serious lag that kicks in after plalying for a while. but since the newest patch (Patch 1.4) a lot of things have been fixed. I haven't had any problems with the lag since the update, and they fixed the common mission glitches that this game use to have there may still be more but I haven't run into any others.I will cover the limited edition items before the gameplay since thats the version I am reviewing. The statue is oh my god awesome, it looks great and is a nice addition to my dragon statues. The art book that it comes with has some great art in it that goes over quite a bit of stuff. The Bonus of DVD I haven't actually watched yet since whenever i look at Skyrim i go straight for the game.
Now I was a HUGE fan of Oblivion I put so many fun filled hours into that game and I must say Skyrim is even more awesome than that. It is improved in so many ways. Obviously the graphics are greatly improved the world is just beautiful. The combat is also improved from Oblivion. The Story was just fantastic a bit short but this game has SOOOO many side quests that even after putting over 300 hours into the game I still haven't completed everything. The game has practically all the guilds Oblivion had, it has the mages guild, the thieves guild, the dark brotherhood, and the companions is practically the fighters guild.
They took a few things out, nothing extremly dissapointing though. You can't create your own spells anymore. There is no greaves in this game the cuirass and greaves are just one set of armor, most people im sure wouldn't care but it kinda bugged me. Another thing that im sure most people wouldn't mind is your armor and weapons don't get damaged in this game, I kinda liked that option but I do kinda like it this way so my weapon does't break in battle.
They added some awesome stuff like Smithing, you can create your armor and weapons in the game you may also sharpen your weapons to make them stronger or enhance your armor at a workbench. You can get married, not an amazing option but its pretty cool to do. And quite a bit more cool stuff has been added.
The level up system is definitley better, now every skill level up will go towards a character level not just level up your major skills. You get a perk for every level up you obtain in the game which you can put into whatever skill you want and get different perks for the skills other then set perks depending on your skills level... I probably didn't explain that too well.
I don't have anything bad to say about this game now that the pack has been released. I would definitley recommend this game to any action rpg lover out there i don't see how anyone can be dissapointed by this masterpiece. Its easily one of the best games I have EVER played, I have been playing for the last few months and i'm still having fun with Skyrim.
So yeah this is a must have game.

I see a lot of negative reviews on this site for this game and I feel they are unjust. People are giving one star reviews because of glitches I never had and Bethesda has addressed these and uploaded patches for, so they shouldn't be an issue for anyone. People complaining about load times need to go back and play some PSONE and PS2 games because I think they forgot how terrible load times were for these consoles. Yes, the load times going from outside in the world of Skyrim to say, inside your home, maybe be anywhere from 20 to 30 seconds. It can detract from the game and become annoying. Overall though, this game is too amazing to be given such poor reviews based on this small annoyance. In my experience, people tend to not like things after they become too popular. When Titanic won a s#@* ton of academy awards and made more money domestically than any other movie, there was a backlash of people who had liked it and then trashed it. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has suffered the same fate it seems. This game is more than a game. Jeremy Soule's score rivals that of Howard Shore's Lord Of The Rings score. It brings you into the world of Skyrim with a brooding and menacing of pounding drums of war. The mood is set and the player is transported into a world with almost endless possibilities. If you want to design your character as a man and marry another man, you can. If you want to run around naked and kill everyone you see, you can. If you want to attend the college for magic, you can. If you want to do the main quest and side quests, you can. If you just want to hunt and work as a blacksmith, you can. I spent a fair share of my time in the land of Skyrim chopping down bandits, stripping them of their clothes and throwing them into rivers, off waterfalls or off of cliffs. This is a world that is what you make of it. It's brilliantly designed, has an amazing atmosphere and beautiful music.
The skill tree for upgrading your skills is a nice improvement from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Depending on whether you want to be a mage whom uses fire or ice spells to subdue dangerous bears or annoying vampires; or be a thief who glides through the lands of Skyrim silently picking pockets and lock picking front doors to houses, your adventure is whatever you want it to be. The character designs vary enough where you won't find yourself seeing multiples of the same person in one town. Towns look different from one another, they even have northern lights that shimmer sometimes in the night sky. Repairing weapons, unlocking Dragon shouts and designing armor help make this stand out much more so compared to the other Elder Scrolls games. The interactive map is nice and easy to navigate, there are plenty of books to be read in the land that help build off of the mythos that Bethesda has created over the years.
The collectors edition is very nice, you get:
*Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game is in cardboard case unlike the usual clamshell
*Map of Skyrim The same map that comes with the standard edition game, very nice
*Alduin Dragon statue nice detail, not so nice base but I don't care as much as other reviewers
*Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Artbook 200 plus pages of great conceptual art from many artists
*Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Making Of Documentary Pretty great inside look at how the game was brought to life, about an hour long
This game is no game, it is an experience. Dungeons can take hours to rid of Dwarven robots or goblins and to plunder all of its treasures. Riding a horse through the land can speed your travel but it's fun to traverse and walk the paths of Skyrim. Dragon battles are intense and fun, even if they are slightly repetitive or you die over and over again. The music Jeremy Soule created adds to the atmosphere of the game and in this he is at his best. Detail is sharp, and aside from the occasional frame rate issues and pop up, this game looks amazing. I have very minor complaints about this game and they don't ruin the game for me or take from the charm or magic of this piece of artwork. Any fan of Frank Frazetta, A song of Ice and Fire (Game Of Thrones), Conan The Barbarian, Lord Of The Rings, Dragonslayer and fans of good roleplaying games, will love this. This game is a memorable experience and a sizeable one at that, with easily a hundred plus hour gameplay and with DLC on the way, this is the very definition of epic. Don't listen to the naysayers reviewing this game so poorly here on Amazon, they are mostly bratty kids who are new to games and didn't have to suffer through terrible save points and load times and are spoiled with autosaving and other forms of instant gratification. This game, I cannot recommend any higher. It won game of the year last year for a reason. It is one of the best games ever made. It is a must own and if you haven't played it, you need to...immediately.

Great gamefor about 50 hours. After that, my save file is now 12mb and I get frequent crashes. I read/hear online that it is from 'extended play of several hours at a time'try 5 minutes. I load the game up and the PS3 locks up after just a couple minutes. Not looking good for a patch to come along and fix this. Definitely buy another versionGreat game, extensive modding community, huge art book, and pretty cool statue. It would have been nice if the Alduin statue was one sold piece and not completely hollow. As it is, my Alduin doesn't sit that great on his rock and the statue itself feels fairly flimsy due to the material it's made out of. Still a great piece to have.
