Although this may fit older versions of the PS3, it does not fit the newer or slimline version. It's cheap enough I will probably just use it as an extra computer cable instead of returning. The new PS3 has a 2 prong molded end this one is a standard 3 prong computer connector.

This item keeps the PS3 cool in a very good way. However after a while it tends to get noisy. It needs to be cleaned ever 2 weeks also. If you need an easy fix this is great as long as you can drown out the noise with gunfire.

The Good Things

*Darn awesome story (Pandora's box opens, and monsters come out to invade New York; I got to wonder why nobody made a movie out of this first).

*Characters are okay (they remind me a little bit of the characters in "Resistance" though. Heck, the whole thing is a bit like "Resistance.").

*Excellent production design. The creatures are wicked (but without being overly scary or gross). The environments are big, detailed, and well-designed.

*Even though the gameplay is simple and straightforward, the levels are very well-designed. You can expect all sorts of crazy stuff to happen as you move along; it's very cinematic without relying on cutscenes.

*There is some interactivity in the environment. Enemies throw stuff, and you can solve some puzzles by moving/altering/destroying things.

*Aside from the usual range of weapons, you also get to use a few superpowers.

*Includes some online multiplayer games.

*Excellent graphics quality. There are loads of details in the textures, and there are lots of objects in each environment. Particle effects are great. One part featured a textured glass wall, and it looked surprisingly realistic. Character renderings are just okay, but everything else looks swell. This is all presented in either 720p or 1080i resolution.

*Sound design and quality are terrific.

*Excellent music; lots of good rock and metal tracks to accentuate the atmosphere and action (ala "Max Payne"). I'm gonna have to find a soundtrack for this game...

The Bad Things

*AI is not the greatest (ever see a soldier shoot a wall before?).

*Not for kids; rated M for bloody violence.

The Questionable Things

*Gameplay is extremely straightforward. You simply follow the waypoints and kill enemies along the way. Some puzzles are challenging, but it is still very linear. It's good if you want something straightforward, but after playing "Farcry 2" and "Fallout 3," it seems overly simplistic.

Wow, the first few minutes of gameplay blew me away. As soon as you start, you are immediately immersed in a world where all heck breaks loose and monsters sprawl out everywhere. From then on, it's a typical FPS. But for the most part, it does have georgeous graphics and a smart premise of a story.

I myself, as a gamer, find myself able to enjoy any game I play. Alpha Protocol was claimed to be an incredibly buggy game, with last-gen shooting mechanics. I found the game to be a work of art, with respectable shooting mechanics and a fantastic conversation system. Fuel was claimed to be a terribly boring game, with very little reason to explore it's huge open world. I found the game to be one of the best racing games ever, and thought the immense open world full of things to explore and unlock. Blacksite: Area 51 was claimed to be a buggy, run-of-the-mill shooter, with a bland story, and brain-dead AI squadmates. I found the AI to be incredibly dependable, and the story to be the most unique and engaging plot-line in the history of first-person shooters.

Now we come to Legendary, a game that was claimed to be an overly linear and bland shooter. The game had incredibly mediocre review scores, and was claimed to play like a last-gen game. Even with these bad reviews, I wanted it. The story sounded awesome, and slaughtering werewolves sounded absolutely amazing. So I picked it up for $10 at Gamestop. I put it in my PS3, intending to play it for a brief 15 minutes to test out the gameplay mechanics.

One hour later...

I was immediatly hooked on the game. The game was a work of art as far as I was concerned. The introductory sequence was one of the most jaw-dropping gameplay sequences I had ever witnessed, right next to Uncharted 2's introduction. Once the intro was over, and you got to slaughtering werewolves and fire drakes, the fun never ceased to stop.

Let's start with the story. Charles Deckard, an international art thief, has been hired by a mysterious employer named LeFey, and his associate, Vivian, to steal a box from a museum basement in New York. Unknown to Deckard, the box is actually Pandora's Box, a box said to contain all the worlds evils. Deckard accidentally opens the box, releasing mythological creatures into the world, and burning a mysterious signet into his hand. Once Deckard escapes the museum, he finds giant griffons flying through the streets, werewolves feasting on human corpses, and fire drakes taking over the subways. Deckard then finds out that he and Vivian have been double-crossed by LeFey's and his private organization, the Black Order. On the run from LeFey, Deckard and Vivian must find a way to recontain the creatures before all of civilization falls.

The story is incredibly unique and engaging, thanks to some interesting characters and creatures. However, the best part of the story is in it's cinematic polish. As stated earlier, the games opening sequence is stunning. Deckard is escaping from a museum that's literally falling apart around him. Once he escapes, he must run across the street, while griffons are hurling cars at civilians (or vice versa). The game is a cinematic tour de force, and is right up there with other titles this year. Couple this with the fantastic script and the immense variety of creatures, and you have a game that impresses.

The gameplay is also impressive, with unique and varied gameplay that keeps you engaged until the end. Spark Unlimited has done a fantastic job of varying the enemy types throughout the lengthy campaign. There is a huge amount of creatures you'll have to face in the game. There are werewolves, alpha werewolves (stronger and faster werewolves), fire drakes, griffons, Nari (little fairies that possess objects and throw them at you), and minotars rampaging through the world. Each of these creatures take a different tactic to beat, adding to the immense variety. Shotguns are best used for werewolves. Fire drakes are vulnerable to the fire axe, as well as water. To hose them down, you can shoot the fire hydrants throughout the game. Nari can phase in and out of reality. An animus pulse (talk about it later) brings them to regular form. Proceeding this by a spray of assualt rifle bullets should do the trick.

As well as these creatures, you also have to face Black Order soldiers in fun human vs. human skirmishes. The enemy AI can be questionable at times, but only on rare occasions. The human enemies you face take cover intelligently, and you have to move from cover to cover to flank them. Even better are the three-way battles, which put Deckard vs. Black Order vs. creatures. These battles are an absolute blast to play through.

The mysterious signet in Deckard's arm brings about an interesting gameplay mechanic animus. See, the signet allows Deckard to see into another dimension. This dimension is full of Animus energy. See, animus is an energy that can heal you, and allow you to use an animus pulse. Killing creatures gives you animus to absorb. This may not sound like much, but animus changes the entire dynamic of the game. While most shooters use a regenerative health system that allows you to regain health by simply staying in cover, Legendary smartly doesn't use one. Considering that Animus energy is fairly rare, you feel like you're at the mercy of these mythological creatures. This causes you to depend on Animus energy, and make every time you run into a cloud of Animus a treat. The signet also allows you to send out an Animus pulse, which can be used against all creatures in the game. The pulse ability is a very useful mechanic. It's (in my opinion) the most effective way to take out Nari. It's also handy when you run out of ammo.

Overall, the gameplay of Legendary is incredibly varied and unique, and an absolute blast to play through. The cinematic polish and fun gameplay keeps you hooked until the very end.

Graphically, Legendary is a treat. The environments are loaded with detail, and the creature designs and animations are incredible. Seeing a griffon swoop in, grab a civilian, and eat it is intimidating, and the incredible detail in everything makes it all the more sweet. The game can also support tons of people and creatures at once, and the game handles it without a hitch. There are a few minor anti-aliasing issues here and there, but the game is still a great looking game.

The audio is fantastic as well. The weapon sound effects are great you'll feel the gunfire in your gut. The voice acting is fantastic, with a great script and believable acting. The music is kind of old school, but in a good way. It kind of reminds me of Doom. The fairly generic rock pieces actually fit suprisingly well. Overall, the audio is as polished as every other componet of the game.

The game is a suprisingly long game, covering 10 or more hours of total gameplay time. Luckily, the length doesn't affect the overall pacing of the game, which is masterful. There are little peices of data to collect throughout the game, which include information about creatures, weapons, objectives, and organizations, as well as intercepted text messages that are interesting to read. There are no trophies, but considering everything there is to do in the game, this doesn't affect replay value.

There is also a multiplayer componet, but there isn't anyone online to play with. There are approximately 0 people online 24/7. This is a bummer, but considering there is a lengthy campaign, data peices to collect, and three difficulty levels to try, I don't think you'd be missing much with multiplayer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my review summary. The following is rated on a 10 out of 10 scale.

Story: 10

An absolutely fantastic story, with interesting characters and diverse creatures. The cinematic polish helps tremendously.

Graphics: 9.5

The amount of detail loaded into the environments is impressive. The amount of things going on at once is also impressive. A few anti-aliasing issues here and there, but the game as a whole looks amazing.

Audio: 10

The sound effects and the voice acting are fantastic. The music is old school, but in a good way think Doom.

Gameplay: 10

The immense variety, fast-paced gameplay, and the clever Animus system all add together to make a fantastic game.

Lasting Appeal: 9.0

With a lengthy campaign, multiple difficulty levels, and little peices of data to collect, there is a lot to do. The dead multiplayer hurts somewhat, and trophies would have helped.

Overall score: 9.5

Great story, great character design, great animation, good gameplay, OK graphics that sums up this game. You play as Charles Deckard, an unlikely hero. The story starts with the Deckard opening Pandora's box unwittingly. Mythical creatures are unleashed into the world creating pandemonium gryphons, firedrakes, werewolves, golems to name a few. Your mission is to save the world and you get to kill these creatures in the process. You get a signet engraved on your hand when you opened the box and this serves as your source of power through the game. You can use the signet to acquire animus which can be used to restore health and also to do certain attacks. This also means there is no health packs to pickup as is typical for FPS. Instead you pickup the animus that is left behind from fallen creatures. The character design and animation is exceptional. I don't like the fact that cutscenes are not skippable. The game gets saved on a checkpoint basis not bad if you don't die much. The music is top class, but not everyone might like it. Subtle touches like people rescuing others and subway trains whizzing past you only to crash ahead are pretty good.

Overall a great game and a great bargain especially for the price it sells for now. Buy it!!

I'd had heard bad reviews for this game before even getting it, but still wanted to try it out. It's a fun game to pick up once and a while, but don't expect anything really substantial. If you like shooting griffins and werewolves with machine guns, you'll have fun. Haven't finished it, but so far the story is it's premise: Shoot monsters in a city setting.

I originally saw this unit here on Amazon but ended up purchasing it online elsewhere that had free shipping. Be forewarned, it takes some time to put this together (5 hours for my hubby with his power drill) and it's heavy (if moving upstairs you will need 2 strong guys). It easily fits all my son's games and controllers and I love the fact it has 3 outlets in the back so you can pull all your cable and wires and not have them showing in the front. Drawers slide easily and the top accomodates our 25 inch tv with more than enough room to spare. Other gaming centers we looked at only accomated 19 inch tv's. Seems pretty sturdy, although it's only wood laminate. For the price we paid ($165) I think it was a pretty good deal.

As a fan of all things shooters and Dreamcast, I was pretty excited to get my hands on Under Defeat HD. I originally had this ordered from a competitor's website, then I pre-ordered on Amazon for the heck of it, which I'm glad I did since it's now an Amazon.com exclusive, so if you want it, don't hesitate, buy it ASAP.

First and foremost, it must be said how beautiful this game looks with its glossy HD makeover. Everything is crisp and has much more detail than the Dreamcast version. For the most part, it all runs buttery smooth, too. I've seen some complaints about "slowdown" on the Playstation Blog and some other places, however these people must not know that slowdown is a feature in shooters like this and not a technical issue. This is a vertical shooter and the gameplay feels as good as ever. Yes, compared to other shooters this has a different feel, however it doesn't take long to acclimate to.

Also, I feel it needs to be said that $29.99 for a retail shooter is an absolute steal. I've heard complaints that these need to be $10-$15 Xbox Live Arcade/Playstation Store downloads, but I just disagree. As a fan of old school games, specifically shooters, I like getting something physical, not having a game sitting on a hard drive with no guarantees. I like the peace of mind that I can play this 15 years down the road, which is important for classic games like this that have timeless qualities. For $29.99 you're getting the game, physical soundtrack w/ digital art book, all DLC and patches from the other region versions, and a brand new in-game chopper. In addition, unlike most games these days, you're getting a color manual included. The import price for this game on NCSX is $83.90, so its $29.99 price is nearly 1/3 of that of the import version. In other words, this price is awesome.

Under Defeat HD is a game that deserves your support. It's inexpensive, packed with goodness, and it's just a quality shooter, as well as being the first retail shooter to hit North American PS3's. Buy it.

Back in 2006, developer G.rev released Under Defeat on the Dreamcast in Japan. Obviously this was well past the point where Dreamcast games were getting regular releases in North America, so the game stayed off shore at the time. I managed import the game and spent a lot of time with it. And now with this release, it's finally available for everyone.

The PS3 version is, as the name implies, a high-definition remake. The arcade mode is very similar to the Dreamcast version. There are a few minor changes here and there, so a purist may want to stick to the Dreamcast version, however it's close enough for most players. Also included is the New Order version that includes a modified play field suitable for widescreen displays. You can also choose to play with dual analog controls, optimized for modern controllers, or stick with the original arcade rotation scheme. So we get the best of both worlds: A reasonable approximation of the original game and controls, and a revamped version to take full advantage of modern setups.

Under Defeat is a shmup. You fly a helicopter, shoot stuff, grab powerups, and avoid bullets. The field of play is an overhead slightly angled view, similar to Raystorm.

The 'twist' to Under Defeat is that your helicoptor can rotate slightly to shoot at different angles. There are also two planes of play, with air targets and ground targets. Your helicoptor normally fires forward, however when a ground target comes into range your angle of fire changes to lock-on to them instead. Powerups consist of small pods that fire along side you, with missles, chainguns, etc. These are activated by pausing your fire to charge them up; thus you often have better firepower by not shooting all the time. Planning which powerups to use and when to activate them adds an additional layer of strategy, and is often more critical than it appears at first glance. This also lets you target multiple enemies at the same time, or concentrate fire on more sturdy enemies.

The level design is where Under Defeat truly shines. From assaulting enemy bases, to battling fleets of ships, to assisting allied tanks on the battlefield, everything is placed well and makes sense. Often when allies are on the screen, you can choose to attack enemies firing at you, or assist those allies against enemies that are targeting them so they can continue fighting. It's really slick design that helps the game feel more like a battlefield.

Boss fights are huge and intimidating, with multiple parts to destroy. This gives a lot of flexibility in how you want to approach them: You can concentrate fire and go straight for the kill, or pick them apart piece by piece.

Under Defeat is a difficult game. Don't let modern "bullet-hell" shmups fool you, more bullets does not always mean harder. I've gotten single credit clears on several modern and old arcade shmups, however this one gives me trouble from time to time. Still, the learning curve is very much worth it as each level just gets better than the last.

It's not every day a shmup gets a disc-based release on PS3, and this is one of the better ones on any console. With added features to take advantage of HD displays and modern controllers, and an original version for the arcade experinece, you really can't go wrong. And at the retail price, it's a steal compared to what the Dreamcast version goes for.

Buy Under Defeat: Deluxe Edition Now

Under Defeat is a great shoot that original came out on the Dreamcast a couple of years ago. Now, this great shooter has new modes, an exclusive chopper, and HD graphics. I played this game on the Dreamcast, it suffered from on screen lag time. Now on the PS3 the HD graphics are beautiful (you must have a HDTV to truly appreciate it). The gameplay is very solid and hard at times (I have not tried the easy mode but will not cause I am true gamer). Once you have completed a level you can go back in practice mode to master that level. I have been playing for about 2 weeks now and I am very satisfied with this game. If you are a fan of the classic overhead shooter Under Defeat is a game you must have in your library. For $32.00 you can't go wrong with that.

Under Defeat is an interesting story. It started out as one the final releases for the Dreamcast in the midlate 2000s, in which the system was already dead everywhere else outside Japan. The fact that not only did G Rev rereleased it modern consoles, with Rising Star Games releasing it in the U.S., this really makes it a gem for the current generation. One can only hope if RS Games will release more in the U.S., after all, they did help release King of Fighters 13 in Europe!

Here's to every shmup gamer across the globe!

Excellent soundtrack(s), new features not in the original DC version such as dual stick mode and redone HD graphics, and and accessible challenge set this shmup apart. Well I guess my rating and title should tell the whole story..., unfortunately it gets way worse. First off this thing barely even fits inside my ps3 input.. it just kinda flopped around like a dying fish (and they sent the "special modified version). Second it barely worked! The colors were distorted and there was NO SOUND for the first 3 days, but finally after plugging my cable wire into the adapter I finally got sound and a pretty decent picture, but that was only after some heavy rearrangements. And finally the 3rd spark that ignited the fuse attached to a big bomb of hatred I now have for this waste of landfill space came when I went to untwist the cable wire off my adapter... IT POPPED OFF!!!!!!! So needless to say this product is nowhere near worth the price and/or hassle. In fact I wouldn't accept this even if Amazon gave it to me for free and gave me 50$.

Well, I wasted $10.11 + shipping on this POS. The video signal was awful and there was no sound when I connected an Xbox 360 to my TV using this MadCatz product. It reminded me of the days of rabbit ears when you would ask your sister to stand there holding the antenna so you could try watching a signal from an out of state TV station. Either I got a defective product or it just doesn't work. I would strongly suggest getting a generic RF modulator instead of one that is product specific like this one is.

Amazon did get this to me pretty quickly, but it is not the correct item. The one they sent has the XBOX, GAMECUBE, and PS2 plugs molded together and the XBOX 360 plug on a separate cord. The one pictured has all 4 on separate cords. This is no big deal if you are plugging in only one of the first 3 systems, but if you are planning to leave it set up so you can play any game system without unplugging cords, this won't work. It says it has automatic switching. There is no way this thing is going to unplug itself from Gamecube and plug itself in to PS2. I am still waiting to hear from customer service to see if they can actually send me what I bought.

My first Call Of Duty game and I must say I do enjoy playing it but the online experience sucks!!!! I continue to go back to playing MAG because I don't have to worry about getting booted offline every hour on the hour if not every other deplyment onto a battle map or during gameplay which usually results in a reset of earned XP. I'm not the best at FPS so losing valuable XP on a good K/D spree hurts when game server is booting you more than half the time you are playing it.

Grrrrrr....

Overall Black Ops a great game but sadden by the online experience.

It needs some serious help.

Got this collector's set and I'm far from disappointed...In fact this is the best collector's set I've ever purchased for a video game. I mean there is usually is something in one of these sets that makes me feel like, "I paid $99 for that???" In this case I feel I got my money's worth and then some. The Game itself retails for $60 (for right now) and for the extra $39 you get a beautiful Play Arts Kai figure (which can retail for $50 and up) that is exclusive to this set...a hardcover Art Book, 3 Patches, two different Download Code cards for skins, weapon packs, extra playable characters in multiplayer mode, as well as a new map, a huge poster/map, a 5x7 Lithograph (very nice), a CD Soundtrack from the game (actual CD, not a download), plus all this is housed in a large metal tin case. So for and extra $39 you get tons of swag which is a refreshing change for the fanboy or collector. I've only played about an hour or two into the game in single player mode and I can honestly say...it is by far the most visually striking game I've played in years. ...and I've been gaming since the Atari 2600...so over 35 years. Nothing to date has even come close. The controls are smooth and reactive, frame rates are incredible, Voice acting is top notch and draws you in, the story so far is extremely compelling, and the backgrounds and environments are lush, stunning, and beautiful...and there are times I find myself just having Lara stand there while I look around and check everything out. I imagine you could run through this game like a bat out of hell and go from one point to the next as quickly as possible...but why would you?? You would really be doing yourself a disservice by missing out on such a piece of video gaming art. So, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, 3 snaps and twist...however you wish to rate it, Lara has all the makings of Game of the Year...and it's just March. I can only hope this brings Ms. Croft back to the forefront of gaming icons that has been in the need of such a reboot shot in the arm.

This my friends is as good as it gets. Just to give you an idea...My wife, has zero love for video games...none. She saw me put the disc in my PS3 and load up...and I swear I could see her sigh extremely hard. Then after about 30 minutes she was pointing out things like, "I saw something glowing over there...no turn around...up there...grab that, right there." Then the unspeakable happened when I shut down and saved my game...I heard, "Your turning it off now?...well are you going to play it tomorrow?"....so after I pick my jaw up off the floor...."Yes, hon...we'll play more tomorrow." The fist pump and loud "yes!" were all in my head, but it was just as meaningful as if I shouted it out loud. Yeah...it's a winner. ~ Jase

I chose the Best Buy edition of the game, for the comic book and I preferred the aviatrix skin over the other exclusive offers, only because it reminded me of Katniss from the movie Hunger games.

The comic book actually exceeded my expectations, my last experience with a collectors edition comic book (e.g. Infamous 2 Collector's Edition), did not add anything to the game experience, so it was a nice surprise, mostly because it fleshed out the characters of the crew.

If you have to choose between editions, in my honest opinion I would choose Best Buy, for the comic book.

Everything about the collector's edition was a nice surprise, as other reviewers has stated, I've never been so satisfied with a collector's edition.

-Play Arts Kai, 8" action figure, very highly detailed figure, dried blood stains and dirt covers Lara Croft. I've also not seen the type of attention to quality before, and I collect mostly NECA action figures. The figure alone sells for about the same price as the game, a good deal.

-Physical game soundtrack, I was not bowled over by the game soundtrack, this coming from a person who enjoys listening to game soundtracks (Skyward Sword, Catherine, Infamous 2, God of War), to me it sounded generic, but still appreciated.

-DLC weapons for multiplayer from the Hitman game.

-Shanty Town stage for multiplayer.

When I try to force myself to play multiplayer, I have not been able to find other players (maybe everyone is too busy enjoying single player, I wouldn't blame them).

-It also comes with 3 iron on badges, at first I thought that they would be sheets to iron on a T-shirt, but these are physical patches or badges that can be iron or sewed on to whatever cloth material you'd like.

-Lithograph artwork of Lara, that I'm proud to display on my dry-erase board.

-All of these are housed in a metal container, other unboxing from youtube I noticed the cover of the container can be separated, but mine came hinged, another pleasant surprise.

The game is gorgeous, I've played a lot of games to a point where a family member who happen to walk by are completely not aware, this is the game I've played in a long time, where a family member would stop what she is doing, to watch me play the game, because the environment is amazing, and the character is a strong, smart female lead. I was unaware that they hired an actress for Tomb Raider, I started to remember the Tomb Raider game "actresses" they've hired in the past, this new actress is definitely a nice change of pace, and I hope that they sell enough copies to acknowledge their amazing work and decisions so that they can keep making these type of games. The story and gameplay is very well balanced, and overall package of the collector's edition is the most well thought out, that I've experienced from a collector's edition.

This alongside Bioshock Infinite are two of my favorite gaming experiences this year. It is very different than other Tomb Raider games. You don't do backflips, handstands, and such. It plays more like Uncharted. You do have puzzle elements but they are mostly optionable as side quest for treasure. It though has a clever level design in how its a restriced open world. As you play you will gain new abilities which lets you get to new areas like the design of Super Metroid and the latest Batman games.

Now as for the gameplay, it is really incredible. There is an upgrade system for you weapons and your tools. There is a lot of collecting that can be done. The combat is very precise and fun if it is melee or shooting.

Graphically, it is stunning to look at. It has set pieces like that of Uncharted. The game borrows a lot from Uncharted. Lara Croft is shown to be vunerable as you she plays throughout the game. This is a reboot but as a prequal since it is her first adventure. I highly recommend this game. It has great music that builds on the tension and things always stays fresh. The game seems grounded in reality but as you play, you will see that it still retains some of that Tomb Raider like story.

As for the collector's edition. It is ok. I don't think its a big deal for the game. I recommend just getting the regular version.

I bought this headset as an occasional gamer (3-4x a week with some friends) and was pretty disappointed. It was very easy to set up, but the sound quality and volume are TERRIBLE! When the device is at maximum volume it's drown out by gameplay from the TV. It's almost like the people you're trying to communicate with are whispering. I even tried to get some of my friends to turn their mic volumes up, and that didn't even help. I know it was a very cheap (price-wise) device, but I was STILL disappointed with it. I would recommend checking out some other options and save your $20.

#2.Cheaply Built & Flimsy As Well As Extremely Uncomfortable To Wear More Than 30-45 Minutes @ A Time
