This is a great Tactical Rpg. I look forward to see more games from CYANIDE studios. This game is on the PSN network to download. But i prefer physical copy. Took a while to ship from the UK to the states. But it was worth it.

I bought this game for my youngest son because he heard that this retail version would work on his PlayStation 3. This game worked like a charm.

The oddity of there being Orcs and Goblins as main playable characters in a game really attracted me to this title. I wanted to know the other side of things rather than being an elf, human, or dwarf. Gameplay is similar to Dragon Age Origins, and SWKOTOR which for me was a plus. This consists of turn based party driven (in this case a duet of an Orc 'tank' and a Goblin 'rogue') strategy, with elements of role play where the main characters talk to NPCs, collect armor, weapons, etc... I personally enjoy these turn based strategy RPGs with a darker tone. Story wise this game is below the two games mentioned above but still has its moments. Most of its charm is in the two main characters conversations/camaraderie and in the concept itself (Orcs and Goblins instead of humans and elves) as opposed to the final execution. The graphics are nice, characters are average (in terms of current games), it has a dreary over tone with rain and dark woodland towns that comes off just above average in terms of ascetics. Towns are empty linear paths with some open areas that are usually there for combat. There are bases where there are allies and merchants to engage in conversation. Dialog choices do effect conversation outcomes as well as choices in routes to take or whether to be aggressive rather than passive and clever. Voice acting has some unneeded profanity to add some kind of misguided edge. Something like this was executed much better in the Witcher games. The darker fantasy fits but stumbles on itself with the writing. I wanted to like this game more than I really did. Bottom line if you have an interest in these type of games and are looking for something new rent it, or if you have a decent PC check Steam for a good deal.

This bag lets you use your PS3 without unpacking it. Just open the bag for ventilation.

The pockets could be bigger. The CD slots are weird. They are oriented such that half of them face left and half of them face right. This guarantees that some of your games will slide out of the slots regardless of which way you tilted the bag. Still for $21, I cant complain too much.

The multiplayer games are fun but besides that it's really bland. The environments are sub par and definitely don't have distinction from one another like in NFL Street.

Wasn't going to leave a review, but seeing as how the first guy to review it doesn't even own one and gave it 1 star for the most retarded reason ever (because people are paying 400 on ebay?), I thought I should give some balance as someone who does actually own one.

I have to sayI was not expecting this stick to be as nice as all the hype built it up to be, but I have to eat my words and admit I was wrong. I got the lucky opportunity to pick one of these up for not much more than retail even though I never pre-ordered it, so I did because I wanted to see what the fuss was about and get a good comparison to the HRAP 3 SA. So far, it's been a great playing experience. It's got some really good weight to it, and obviously the sanwa components are top quality. Feels good on your lap, and very easy to play with in general. I'm not a huge fan of the start/select buttons all the way on the back of the stick...maybe on the right side would have been more convenient IMO, but that's the only complaint I can come up with...

I originally said that I didn't think this stick would be better than the HRAP3 SA, and I still stand by that though. I don't think it's better, BUT I don't think it's worse either. Both sticks have a solid arcade feel to them, and both use genuine sanwa parts. The color scheme of this one is growing on me more, but I might end up doing some kind of art mod later...

AnywayI'm eating my words, Mad Catz actually made a good controller for once, haha. The fact that Mad Catz made something on par with what I consider the best arcade stick hori has to offer is absolutely crazy to me, but it seems to be true. Don't know how this stick came out so well and the SE version is so full of issues....

This fightstick is amazing, but certainly not worth anything over the original price. It's made with quality japanese parts, making it far superior to the Standard Edition stick.

Mad Catz promised to make more of these fightsticks and they also stated that their goal is for everyone who wants one to have one. Don't be dumb, and don't get ripped off. Be patient, these sticks are not limited edition. More are coming in stock as time goes by.

This is my first fighting stick, and so far I haven't had any problems whatsoever. The fight stick should be used for fighting games, such as, MK vs DC Universe, Soul Calibur 4, and of course with any Street Fighter game. I feel relieved that I don't have to use PS3 controllers anymore, because it's easier to do combos and my thumb doesn't hurt anymore.

FYI, when you insert the Street Fighter 4 disc into your PS3 make sure you go to -> "Options" -> "System Settings" -> "Install. This will improve load times and online play.

I was fortunate to get this FightStick at retail price($149), because I pre-order this product in early December. However, it's unfortunate when third party sellers are trying to sell the Street Fighter IV tournament FightStick at triple or quadruple from the original price. If MadCatz decide not to make anymore I recommend to look elsewhere. For example, I believe Hori came out with the Playstation 3 Real Arcade Pro. 3 Fighting Stick, or a company called, Arcade-in-a-box. I heard both of these company's fight sticks are well made--do a Google search.

Having said that, this is a top quality stick and you won't be disappointed.

I'm not going to try to "reinvent the wheel" per say, but rather reinforce the positive reviews already out there. If you haven't already read IGN's review (note: it's for the 360, but the product is 99% similar so you'll get the idea) there is plenty of reading material out there. All you have to do is search for "Tournament Fightstick Review."

Anyways I just had the chance to sit down and finally see what all the hype was all about for this joystick. Please keep in mind this is my first joystick so while I may not have the experience of others in knowing what's good or bad I have the common sense to tell what's quality and what's not. Here's what you need to know: the buttons and stick ooze quality. They feel and sound great. This is arcade perfect of the Viewlix cabinet so quality parts are a given. Since it has Sanwa parts you don't have to worry about modification. The plastic shell case doesn't have a real high end feel to it, but does the job just fine. My biggest gripe in terms of quality has to do with USB cable storage door. Granted I only opened the door 2 times but I was nervous both times to not break anything off. I would advise owners to handle the storage door with care.

For PSX/PS2/PC compatibility I haven't tried it with PSX/PS2 games so I can't say, though I think I remember people saying it doesn't work with PS2 games. PSX might be okay, but don't quote me on that. As for PC I plugged it in (Vista 64-bit on an Intel-based system) and after a short driver installation period I was good to go. This is great for MAME or Mugen or whatever else fits in those gaming categories.

If you're looking for a quality joystick and if you can get your hands on one I recommend you get one of these.

Update June 11, 2009:

I've used this joystick for 2 weeks now and I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoy playing games with it. There is an intial learning curve for people who have strictly used console controllers all their lives, but it is most certainly worth it.

A little warning about this joystick: expect scratches on the clear plastic that sits on the art! From one angle the joystick looks clean, glossy, and smooth. From another angle you can spot hundreds of micro-scratches running across the face. Also I have found the black ring at the base of the stick rubs against the clear plastic the wrong way and will leave a circle of scratches surrounding it. All these cosmetic issues do not affect gameplay in any way. If you want you can always apply something smooth underneath the black ring to prevent this from happening before you start using the stick. Avoid using rubber or anything that would restrict the stick from moving freely.

I'm still not a big fan of the cable storage door, but I have gotten used to opening and closing it so hopefully it doesn't snap on me right after my 90-day warranty is up.

--

Update August 14, 2009:

I decided to void the warranty a little more than a week away from its expiration for the sake of testing how easy it would be to install new buttons and a new ball top especially since I just got them from Japan (yes I'm bragging a little). Some of the quick disconnects can be difficult to remove with your fingers so I recommend you use a flathead to loosen the connector at the base and gently tug on the metal portion to remove it or use pliers, again on the metal portion. DO NOT pull on the wires! I ended up replacing the white buttons and white ball top with red counterparts (same Sanwa models: OSBF buttons and LB-35 ball top) and replaced the two black buttons with white ones All in all it was purely for aesthetics. Hopefully I'll get around to posting a picture. I did happen to buy another JLF joystick, but it's only for backup.

Modification isn't bad at all, but as I said before it's not necessary since you have top quality parts. If you are looking to modify your fightstick make sure you do some searches on guides in case you've never done this type of thing before.

With Amazon's new $130 price tag I don't see how you can turn this down.

Want Sony PS3 Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition Discount?

For the first time this decade, MadCatz teamed up with Capcom to bring us a HIGH-QUALITY product, with expensive imported parts from Japan for that "Authentic Arcade Feeling". First off, all parts are infact 100% authentic Sanwa Denshi products, from the joystick to the pushbuttons which round up about $70 by itself if you were to purchase the parts. not to mention the PCboard which woudl cost your another $25~$30 normally is included with a beautifully constructed case with grade A Artwork encased in plexiglass or lexon, which would round up another $60 if you would have tried to contruct everything yourself. For the price of ONLY $100 as opposed to the new SSFIV Fight Stick for the original price of $150, BOTH which have exactly the same parts in a rehashed case and new art, this FightStick is a STEAL at this price. have fun and SRK.

I have always been a fan of Sony and had Playstation consoles exclusively. I have never tried a Wii, though I know several people who have them and they all told me how much fun they are. I have been eagerly awaiting the Sony Move for months, and picked it up the first day of it's release. I was amazed at how accurate the controls were! Anyway, when I decided I was getting the Move, the first thing I did was search out a bowling game. I found Brunswick Pro Bowling being previewed everywhere. The graphics looked awesome, and the way the folks demonstrated the game in the videos, it gave me the impression that this would be a pretty realistic experience.

I picked up a copy of the game yesterday. I have to say, I searched everywhere for a review of the game before buying to see what people where saying about it. Of the few reviews I found, almost all were negative. I was surprised. I heard everything from "The controls are bad" to "The graphics aren't great" to "The game is unresponsive" etc. I actually hesitated buying it after reading this stuff.

Well, I have to say that I'm a GLAD that I did NOT listen to the negative reviews. I spent about 3 hours last night playing, and I had a lot of fun doing so. Even the guy in the store told me that most negative reviews come from people who just can't play the game. They stink at it, so automatically the game gets a negative review.

The game is really this simple...You load it up, select the game you want to play (so far I just did the quick game and chose the first character), choose your ally, and you're off. Anytime you need to calibrate the game, you push [select]. Use the "T" button to position your bowler, press the "set" button. Use "T" again to aim, press the "set" button. Hold in T and your bowler starts to walk to the foul line. Here comes the part where people say it sucks. You have to time your throw, just like you would in real bowling. Again, I have never tried a Wii, so I don't know first hand...but I'm told that with Wii bowling, you can really chuck that ball down the lane. This game is designed to be a simulation, that won't fly here. At first, I could throw the ball down at about 9MPH. But with practice I realized that you need to time your release, and now I'm able to consistantly throw the ball at 16-20MPH. Also keep in mind that each character you play has a different level of strength. A "weaker" character might not be able to throw a ball 20MPH.

At any rate, after I played the first game, I just thought to myself "there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this game." I personally don't feel that it deserves the negative reviews it's getting. I wouldn't tout it as the Game of the Year or anything, but for $30, it's a good bowling simulation that has so far provided a few hours of fun. And as far as realism, I'm bowling exactly the same score on Brunswick Pro Bowling that I would in real bowling...115 baby!!! It just takes practice. The controls DO work, you CAN throw the ball at a good speed, and you ABSOLUTELY CAN hook the ball...there are three different balls to choose from, each one "bites" the ally differently. A "10" barely hooks, a "30" a little more, and the "green monster" (as I call it due to it's neon green color) "50" really bites when you put spin on it. There's a lot more to the game than just "swinging your arm as hard as you can and hoping for the best."

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

First off, let me say that I agree with the reviewers who have said that patience and practice is important with this game. If you expect this game to be like Wii bowling where you can stand there, whip your arm and expect a strike, you will not like this game. If you would appreciate a bowling game with accurate controls where you will most likely bowl horrible at first and have to figure out what you need to do to fix your motion (you know...like you would have to do to improve your score at a real bowling alley?), you will probably enjoy this game.

One of the pros is the accurate controls. (This might be considered a con for small children who just want to knock the pins down, but I suppose you could always turn on the bumpers for them so they don't throw a gutter ball every time.) Swinging your arm with different speed, timing, twisting motion, releasing the trigger button at different times, etc. will have an effect where the ball goes and how fast. Swinging your arm out wide away from your body will have a different effect on the ball than keeping your arm in tight, close to your body. I found that I had to release the trigger much sooner in the down-to-forward motion of my swing than what I first expected. This, combined with learning how to time the swing with the approach of the character on the screen, helped me go from throwing the ball 5 mph when I first played the game to throwing consistently at 18-20 mph. You can even investigate the oil pattern on the lane if you want. I am too dumb to know what this means, but if you know about bowling, you could probably use the oil pattern to plan your shots somehow.

One point to emphasize about the controls is that it really matters where you have the camera set up. We started with the camera on top of our TV, but our controllers were constantly going below the view of the camera during our swing, which would lead to a disastrous shot. We moved the camera down below the TV screen and haven't had a problem since (besides occasionally throwing the ball directly into the gutter on an over-exuberant attempt).

Another plus is the graphics are better than other bowling games out there. Granted, it's not cutting edge technology, so don't expect to be blown away. But having varied bowling allies that actually have a different look and feel to them when they show up on your TV screen is a plus. My wife is always in charge of picking the alley when we bowl together.

When you get a spare or a strike, the game plays these canned animations in an onscreen window to celebrate your triumph. Most don't have anything to do with bowling, but some are a little humorous. Luckily, once you get tired of watching these short video clips, you can skip them by pressing a button. Also, there is a short replay after EVERY shot you take. I can understand showing replays of important moments or impressive spare pick-ups, but a replay of every shot is a bit much. You can skip the replays by pressing a button too.

In career mode, you can choose your bowling avatar from a very limited selection of bowlers. You can change the clothing, bowling ball, fashion accessories, etc. for your player, but so far I have found the options for personalizing your bowler rather limited. I like there to be really zany personalization options for my game characters, and the choices here seem to be pretty straight forward, although I will admit I haven't played nearly enough to claim I've seen everything that the game has to offer. And you can't edit the character models themselves at all. As you win games in career mode, you unlock clothing, accessories, and bowling balls.

There are three career modes you can play. In one you play on a team in a league. You can choose to control all the players on your team, only control your game character, or any combination in between. I haven't spent much time in this mode yet. The mode I normally play is the tournament mode where you enter...tournaments...and play solo. There is also a challenge mode where random bowlers challenge you to a game. In addition, there is a non-career mode where you are presented with varied arrangements of pins with the challenge to pick up the spares. You get a better score depending on how many throws it takes you for each pin arrangement.

While I do enjoy this game, there are a few things about it that I do not like:

Only the score of the player currently bowling is displayed on the screen at any one time. As far as I can tell, there is no way to look at all the bowlers' scores at once during a game. You have to remember where you are in relation to everyone else as you bowl. This is a serious flaw one that I hope they fix with a software patch in the future. I think there should be a running score of all the bowlers in your game onscreen at all times with an option to pull up a window and view the entire scorecard.

In tournament mode, if you're playing a tournament with eight rounds and you lose in the seventh, you must start the tournament over. You cannot simply replay the game you lost and pick up in that round of the tournament again. I know this is more realistic, but I would prefer if it gave the option of restarting the round rather than booting you out of the tournament to have to begin it again.

Sometimes music plays in the background during your game. There are not many songs, and they get old fast. You can turn the music down or off in the options menu.

Navigating the menu screens with the motion controller (without the extra navigation controller) is a pain because it takes a lot more movement of the controller to move the selection than it does in the PS3 XMB home menu. You might want to keep a regular controller or the navigation controller handy to help navigate the menus more quickly.

There is no screen that automatically pops up before your game to help you to calibrate your controller. Instead, there is a little message on the bottom of the screen telling you to press a certain button to calibrate. The ball on the controller flashes white until you have calibrated it and you can't bowl without calibrating, so why doesn't the calibration screen just pop up automatically at the start of the first game? Ugh.

On the first shot of the first frame, you set your bowler's start position and angle. This establishes the starting position for your bowler for the first shot of every subsequent frame. You would think this position would remain unchanged, but I have found that occasionally in the later frames of the game the position will creep a little to one side or the other (without you having done anything to change it). This can be annoying because you can bowl a frame or two without noticing that the computer changed your position unbeknownst to you.

Another quirky glitch to note is that there is an arbitrary time limit the game programmers imposed for how long it can take the ball to get to the pins. When we first started, sometimes we would only throw the ball 3 mph, which would cause the ball to disappear just before reaching the pins and our player to reset for the next attempt assuming the last attempt was a gutter ball. It was frustrating, but once we figured out the controls a little better, it has been fine.

In summary, this game is probably not as good as it could have been, but it is fun. If you have the Move controllers, are looking for a game to play and don't mind a little bit of a learning curve, you'll probably like it.

Buy Brunswick Pro Bowling Now

I disagree with the reviews below. I just purchase the game and it's blast. I agree the move control is definitely tricky but once you learn it it's a lot of fun. In my opinion wii bowling it's good but not as accurate as ps3 bowling. Not really sure what is the person below talking about "you have to whip your arm super fast to get any speed on the ball" again once you learn it all you have to do is swing your arm in moderate speed, release the trigger button in the right time (timing is very important in this game) and the player will throw the ball 20mph every time. To curve the ball it's also super easy and way more accurate than wii. I would definitely recommend this game.

I bought this game before there were any reviews. Once I started playing I was like other reviewers and was like WTF it won't go any faster then 6-7mph. But like another reviewer mentioned timing is everything. Now when I bowl I've been scoring anywhere between 140-170. Here is what I have been doing. First make sure the PS3 eye is waist high so not on top of your tv put it below it. Next when I'm ready to bowl I hold the move controller straight up and down so the the glowing ball is on top. Next I hit the trigger button then the bowler starts moving forward. Once the player just about reaches the lane I swing back and forward letting go and adding a carve as needed and I consistently through 17-20.5mph. Once you get the timing right this game is a lot of fun. I went from throwing a game of 50 to now throwing a 170. So give it a chance and practice.

**Before we delve any deeper, I'm going to address my raw star rating on this game. For those unfamiliar with games like Dynasty Warriors 6 be aware that both fans and haters of this style of game (more on that later) offer very polarized opinions and mine is likely no different. I strongly recommend that if you aren't pretty sure what to expect from this game already that you download the PSN demo, read reviews and weigh it against your own interests, or rent the game. I clearly think it is a very good and fun game from my rating but I will be the first to admit that it isn't for everybody.**

General:

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes (Sengoku Basara 3 'officially') is one of many games in a series. Only a small handful of these games have made their way stateside, and there's also an anime, but I can't comment on this particular series as a whole outside of that. Samurai Heroes is the first of the series I've played. With that said in the most basic way of looking at the game it's a 90% copy of just about any Dynasty Warriors game you may have played only with a heavy handed dose of Capcom stylization. You'll find comparably simple controls, the same subject matter as the Samurai Warriors games, the same concept as the Dynsasty Warriors games in general, effectively the same interface, and the list goes on.

Hold on, what does that mean? I've never played any of these games you keep talking about! Well what the Dynasty Warriors games are in essence are action games with RPG elements in which you assume the role of a historical figure (Dynasty Warriors: Gundam excluded obviously, same idea though) and guide your way through historical battles. I don't pretend to be a historian, and can't comment on what degree these elements have been exxagerated, but I'm relatively certain Saika Magoichi never engaged in melee combat with a 4 tube rocket launcher in the 1500s. Basically any named character, battle, location, or faction can be Googled and some parallels can be drawn from there though. Saika Magoichi for example was in fact well known for utilizing firearms. The way these battles take place is that you assume the role of your hero and wade through armies of infantry, advanced soldiers, and ultimately other famous characters. Various games have employed their own mechanics but the game has typically been about hunting down objectives relative to the specific battle and defeating the enemy characters all the while plowing through hundreds of fleshy experience piñatas. As you advance your character gains new weapons, combos, and in typical role playing style your basic characteristics increase. That's the gist of a Dynasty Warriors game and that's the heart of what you'll also find in Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

So what sets this game apart?

Combat:

Dynasty Warriors games have, for as long as I remember, employed a combo system consisting of hammering on square a set number of times and utilizing a special attack by throwing a triangle in there. Sengoku Basara's combo system isn't all the much more difficult, and honestly maybe even easier, but it's about the same. Each character has 4 basic attacks. Individual attacks have pretty varied use so it isn't necessarily about stringing them all together with other attacks but in using each attack when appropriate. Some obviously do combo together but others perform best by themselves. The attacks themselves can also advance in levels to alter various aspects of their use from duration to area and numerous other things. The input for these attacks is pretty simple but there is nuance in using them which may involve tapping or charging a command to get a certain effect. It isn't really all that conducive to indiscriminately mashing buttons but you will be using your basic attacks the same way a lot once you find out what works.

In addition to your basic attack there are also special attacks. Each character eventually gets 3 of these but doesn't start with any. These behave in different ways. They run the gammut from support, to highly vulnerable nukes, to quick combo extenders. Saika Magoichi (whom I've played the most) for example has one which targets numerous enemies with a rocket launcher which is rather powerful, but it takes a bit of time to use so it leaves the player vulnerable. In contrast to that she also has one that's reasonably quick, can be used to stun enemies, can be steered, and ultimately finishes in an explosion.

Lastly there are Basara Arts and Hero time, which again if you've played Dynasty Warriors can be directly compared to Musou attacks. Basara arts are your super attack, they do massive damage to large number of enemies, and can only be used when you have a full Basara meter. Each character only has one and it's used simply by hitting circle. While your Basara art itself won't change, in activating it near an ally you can receive various buffs. Hero time is kind of the same idea; once your Hero bar fills you can enter in to Hero time. It isn't an attack itself but everything will slow down and you will do more damage. Using both the Hero time and the Basara art together is considered an 'Ultimate Basara Art' but again it doesn't really change, it just hurts a lot more. In true Capcom style, both have a very over the top feel to them and are a lot of fun to see happen.

Progression:

The game unfolds over a battle map of Japan. Between battles you can see which territories you've conquered and what your enemies have. You don't really have unlimited freedom in where you go, you're generally only given a couple of choices, but there are branching pathways in how you undertake your campaign. There's an interface which can be pulled up to see which paths you have taken and which remain to be unlocked. From this an individual play on any given character can have numerous outcomes in terms of what allies you acquire and what battles you fight.

As you finish battles your character will be granted experience based on their performance. Having high hit combos, lots of kills, taking over enemy camps, secret objectives, and other factors all contribute to a fluctuating amount of experience. Unlike Dynasty Warriors you must win a fight to actually advance in skill as all rewards are only applied once a map is finished. At the end of battles you're also awarded materials for crafting, weapons from character kills, and the occasional accessory. I've already mentioned that as your character levels they gain new attacks and further advancement to those attacks, but you also have the option to equip your character with different weapons (more powerful versions, not different entirely) and accessories. Accessories can be gained from battles sometimes but they may also be crafted outside of that using your acquired materials and a fee of zenny which you'll also get from battles.

Graphics:

It's not winning game of the year for graphics any time soon, it's pretty obvious this is a slightly improved Wii game, or maybe the other way around but at the end of the day this isn't stacking up against a AAA PS3/360 title. This is fine though, even the best looking game of this type was never all that pretty. Environments are repetitive, character models lack facial definition, and rendering in general is pretty downplayed. Fortunately this game is just kind of crazy; everything is very explosive and stylized. Not that I'm a stickler for graphics ever but it goes a long way in forgetting the shortcomings of the graphics when the character models are imaginative and the combat itself is really fun.

Story:

The story varies depending on your character and choice but you're not going to find anything memorable. It probably won't be long before you're skipping cut scenes by some combination of the cheesy dialogue, mediocre at best voice acting, or a complete disinterest in the story. Honestly if you demand a lot from the story of a game then Sengoku Basara and/or Dynasty Warriors are not the series for you. No Japanese audio track is available.

One of my major gripes with the game is that there is no way to simply turn off cut scenes. Every time you play a map you're going to get, and subsequently have to skip the same cut scenes and battle alerts.

Trophies:

This game is a doozey for the platinum. It isn't particularly difficult but expect a couple hundred hours to unlock and max everything.

Conclusion:

Ultimately this game is a knock-off of Dynasty Warriors and even more specifically this game is sort of what Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce could have been if it wasn't so terrible. Granted I don't know which series came first but I feel confident in saying there isn't a single element of this game which isn't more enjoyable than the majority of Dynasty Warriors games, and I love pretty much all of them. To the uninitiated you will be facing hours of mindless slaughter so it's important to ask yourself if that's something you enjoy but this is a very fine example of this style of game should you choose to give it a shot. Even at full price Sengoku Basara is still cheaper than most of the other recent PS3/360 Dynasty Warriors games.

Pros:

Cheap

Lots of fun

Lots of character nuance

Lots to unlock

Local multiplayer

Cons:

Corny dialogue/story

Can't turn off cut scenes

Limited playable roster compared to DW

This is a honest review. If you are looking to be blown away by Sengoku Basara, you should probably look elsewhere. This game is for the fans, its very simple. If you enjoy the anime, or have played some of the past titles, you will love this game. Fans of the Dynasty Warriors games, will also feel right at home here.

Surprisingly the voice work is solid, and for all the chaos happening on screen, the frame rate is very steady, even in Co-Op split screen.

I had been missing/reminiscing just sitting down with a friend on the couch and playing a co-op game. One that was not a shooter, and pretty easy to pick up and play. I used to pick up the Dynasty Warriors games, but lately they have progressively gotten worse.

If I had anything negative to say about the game...I suppose more characters would be nice, and an option to use the JP vocal tracks. Capcom could add these as dlc down the road... but only if the game sells enough copies to warrant dlc.

To put it simply, Sengoku Basara revived my inner need to destroy everything on the screen with over powered attacks. I'm really happy that Capcom took the time to localize this and bring it over from Japan.

First off this game is absolutely beautifully rendered on the PS3. The character designs are well rendered. If you looking for a great game to take up some of your time with a great story (actually multiple stories for each player) and also enough action to send you into a frenzy!!! The combat is fierce and the dialogue is very well done. You can feel for these characters in their plight to unite Japan. The game is called Sengoku Basara because as always it is based off the Sengoku Era in Japan. The english and Japanese voice cast include some of the best in the world. Masamune Date is voiced by the guy who does Dante from Devil May Cry (shocker there) Yukimura Sanada by Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo-Bleach) Ieyasu Tokugawa by Liam O'Brien (War-Darksiders). If you are looking for a game to fill a gap til your next big epic game...this game will do it at a 40 price tag...its a must buy. Take note Dynasty Warriors...this is what hack-and-slash games should be like.

Sengoku Basara is a very good PS3 action game which has been unjustly thrashed in the videogame press (see IGN review).

I am personally a big fan of the dynasty warriors games and this is an excellent clone/alternative.

The discounted launch price in the United Sates is also a bonus.

If you are into mindless hack and slash games then this is for you.

I had bought these to get 2 more controllers for my ps3 but didnt wanna pay $50 apiece for a sony branded dualshock 3 controller. So i found these controllers, which when i ordered wasnt expecting sony quality controllers n was expecting it to be cheap crappy quality but enough to play with at least. I was completely shocked when i got these. The controllers look and feel just like a sony dualshock 3 controller, i would never know the difference if it didnt say sony on it. Had no problem syncing them w/ the charge cables that came with them. These work flawlessly. The only thing i dont like about them is that they are alil heavier than the sony controllers but not a big deal at all. i highly recommend these to everyone with a ps3. and shipping was quick and tracking was promt and quickly updated. definitely the best bang for $25. if you do order these i suggest you order something else to fill that $25 order minimum to get free shipping, otherwise there is a $9 tacked on to this.

Holy macaroni... what a vivid, imaginative, and colorful universe this limbless fellow lives in!

I was a huge fan of Rayman Origins, which was released two years ago. At that time, I considered it to be the best 2D platformer in the history of gaming, and I believe that has remained true until now. Ubisoft has done gamers everywhere a huge service by improving upon their remarkable formula in every possible way, and delivering a game that's even BETTER than the awesome platformer that is Origins.

Foremost, the visuals of Legends need to be addressed. One of the best things about Origins was that it looked like you were controlling a cartoon, which resulted in terrific animations, slapstick comedy, bizarre spectacles, and OODLES of SMILES. I would have been perfectly happy if this sequel looked exactly like Origins, but somehow the developers have made it look even better. The graphics in this game POP like nothing I've ever seen before, and it looks even more like an animated movie than ever. Graphics generally have little to do with actual gameplay, but in the case of the Rayman games, their whimsical presentation has a direct correlation with the end result (that being fun, laughter, and wonder), so they do have a big impact here. This game is a visual treat, and I predict that it will be impervious to the "aging" that most games suffer from, because the art direction is so marvelously realized.

Though Legends' graphics may make this game look a tad childish, do not be deceived this is a meticulously designed platformer that offers tremendous challenges. Furthermore, if you study the layout of the levels and practice, you will discover that there is an incredible amount of sophistication here. As far as I can tell, EVERY level can be played in one swift movement, with no hesitation whatsoever if you have the skill to memorize the patterns and the reflexes to guide you (which comes in handy when attempting to complete time challenges). I am blown away by the amount of care that the designers put into this game. I don't see any "shortcuts" or evidence of "going through the motions" to fill out content.

And on the subject of content, there is a staggering amount here. The campaign alone is very long, particularly for a 2D platformer, but what makes the game infinitely larger is the amount of additional challenges and collectibles. Multiplayer is also a blast, and I can have fun playing Legends with less experienced gamers. Though it is far harder to complete challenges when I have other gamers along for the ride, that's not what it's about it's about having fun and watching Rayman and Globox slap each other silly.

It bears mentioning that you can have anybody play this game with you, from a five-year-old to your granny. There is no violence other than the "cartoon" variety, and it's a huge departure from the glut of ultra-violent titles that have saturated the market in recent years. To me, this is a wonderful, beautiful break from the norm. No longer do you have to worry about "headshots" and the other staples of the shooter genre, but you can focus on the types of things that made us enjoy games when we were younger: a sense of wonder, whimsy, and the relentless pursuit of fun.

Please note that I play this game on PS3 and Vita, but I am posting my review (of Legends' content) for all consoles, because I feel this game deserves major credit.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This game looks awesome. It's brightly colored and just screams fun. That sounds like too simple of a point to make up front but trust me, it looks fantastic and it pops off your screen.

It's your basic run to right and get to the end sort of game but there is lots of variety mixed in there. It never feels boring. It's just fun.

The best part is if you are looking for a party game this is fun to play with more than one person and some of the mini games are fun and easy enough that Grammy could play with the grand kids and they would both have a blast.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program From all these Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed video games where there's killing and even the trash that is Grand Theft Auto, here is a game that is great for kids. The Rayman series have always been about fun and great animation. This one is even better.

Graphics are incredible. It looks like you are watching a cartoon. There are great subtle effects such as foreground objects being out of focus to give the illusion of depth for objects in the background.

The sound is wonderful and immerses you in the game play.

The character looks like a Disney character. You have to save all of these little prisoners locked in cells and dungeons. But, you have a companion to help you along the way.

My daughter, who is not a gamer, took to this game very quickly and actually started playing it. Recognizing the Rayman series, it didn't take much for her to get started and play the game.

Overall this is a fantastic game for all gamers. Especially if you are a parent and want the kids to play something that is without all the garbage and needless violence.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I got this game for my 4 year old son, and yes on paper he may be too young for it. Some time ago I let him try playing one of my old lego starwars games, and he has practically mastered it. He'll go up and play with his toys and I hear him saying "X X Square" when playing with a jedi. Even puzzles which I would have thought would be too hard for him he has figured out. A nice thing about the lego games is, when you die, you respawn almost exactly where you were, and there is no time limits. So he can go slow.

But I thought he might like a new game, so I picked this up, mostly because it was a side scroller platform, and it looked age appropriate in the action & graphics (nothing too violent or scary). I've not played any prior Rayman games, so was completely unfamiliar with it.

My son loves it, he can hardly stop playing it, so it was a success. It is more difficult than the lego games, the death mechanics are not nearly as forgiving, especially as often they're one hit to kill you. Cooperative play also is confusing, I was going to let his little sister play with him but, during cooperative play, when you die you turn into a pink bubble, okay neat... except you need the other person to free you from it (with an attack), and they weren't easily able to figure that out (the game also came with no manual, so I couldn't figure that out right away either). When your character dies he often respawns back a little ways, so it makes it more difficult, but my son has managed to get through quite a few levels.

Some levels though are way beyond him, they're not timed, perse, but there are timing heavy components, or things like ceilings of spikes slowly falling which means you need to move quickly, so he frequently asks for help while he plays. Other levels, he is fine with playing by himself. He picked it up in no time too, as far as the jumping and attacking goes.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Charming. That's the word that keeps coming to mind as I've been playing this latest installment in the beloved Rayman series.

Not to mention captivating, delightful, imaginative, inventive, funny -and just plain fun.

Long before Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper there was Rayman. A dear little guy with floating hands and feet who walked, ran, jumped and hovered sideways through a side-scrolling platform adventure collecting widgets, freeing captive friends, and bopping bad guys.

Fans of the series will be pleased to hear that this new collection is probably the best Rayman ever. Everything you liked about the previous games is back, and Rayman has some new moves, plus a little friend who assists him in clever ways at the press of the circle button.

The game also features a local co-op mode, which I haven't tried, in which you can enlist your friends to help Rayman on his way. You can also play as other characters besides Rayman.

The controls are spot-on, and the checkpoints are well set so when you fail (and you will fail!), you won't have to go back too far or restart a level to make further progress.

Did I mention that this is a perfect game for kids? There's no violence or profanity, and even the bad guys are engaging and funny. But does that mean adults won't love this game as well? To the contrary, there's more than enough challenge here for gamers of all ages -and your kids will probably have the speed and dexterity to put us oldsters to shame!

It doesn't hurt either that Rayman's adventures have the most lovely orchestral musical accompaniment -one reviewer compared it to the Looney Tunes scores, and that's probably not far from the mark.

So if you'd like to introduce your kids to some old-school gaming of the highest order -or you want to indulge yourself -welcome back Rayman. I give this game two floating thumbs up!

well, color me surprised.

after having been disappointed by the last couple of CoD games, i was hesitant to purchase black ops 2. a lot of the gripes and criticisms of black ops 1 and more particularly MW3, were wholly justified. but, being the sucker that i am, i forked over $60 because i love me a FPS and i really enjoyed combat training in the first black ops (more on combat training in a minute). after having spent nearly a week with the game, here's my verdict:

campaign in short, it's a massive improvement over the last four CoD campaigns. i don't think it's stretch to say it's the best CoD campaign since CoD4. yes, it still looks dated (very dated, actually), but what it lacks in snappy graphics it makes up for in pure fun. all the trailers leading up the game led me to believe the campaign took place in the future. well, only about half the game takes place in the future. the other half takes place during the last days of the cold war. all the protagonists from BO1 are back and they all still speak like testosterone-happy alpha males (the franchise really, really needs legit writers who can write dialogue). however, the gunplay is what matters and that's where BO2 excels. first of all, you can customize your load out before you start every mission. it's a nice touch that allows you play your way. not all guns, attachments, camos, etc are available right off the bat (you have to unlock them like you do in the multiplayer), but it's a nice change. the campaign also gives you several choices in the game that will affect the outcome. this is practically unheard of in FPS games, so kudos to treyarch for mixing it up and bringing something new. each mission also has a series of ten challenges specific to that particular level. some of the challenges are fairly easy, but some are very challenging. and sometimes the only way to complete all the challenges is to replay the mission. the only part of the campaign i don't care for is the strike force missions (but that's probably because i suck at real time strategy games).

multiplayer ah, the great love-it-or-loathe aspect to all call of duty games. i haven't played any CoD multiplayer since MW2. i got sick of the glitching, camping, obsession with killstreaks, etc. BO2 isn't a drastic departure from the formula, but it's a least an improvement. scorestreaks have replace killsteaks which encourages more team play. smart move. the maps are much improved, in my opinion, from BO1. in fact, there's not a map i don't care for. the sound design is 1000 times better. where in BO1 it sounded like you were shooting pop guns and peashooters (pew pew pew), the guns in BO2 are hefty, beefy and actually have some bass. they sound great. not BFBC2 great, but close enough. i haven't experienced all the freezing on my ps3 that many others have noticed, but the lag is absolutely horrendous. rubberbanding is non-stop, hit detection is often spotty, and with 650,000 people online at any given time, i'm not sure why it can take five or six minutes to get a game started. but, despite it's flaws, it's the most fun i've had on a CoD multiplayer since CoD4.

zombies again, kudos to treyarch for not resting on their laurels and simply regurgitating past incarnations of this mode. sure, it's still zombies, but in addition to the tradition survival mode, you now have the tranzit mode and griefing mode. i haven't played too many zombie matches (i don't last long anyway when i do), but it's definitely fun and challenging.

combat training honestly, combat training, for me, was the best part of BO1. sometimes i just want to kick back, practice, own the AI, play with a friend or two and not worry about having to listen to a bunch of hopped up pre-pubsecent, vulgar kids. combat training was the main reason i bought BO2. unfortunately, combat training as we knew it no longer exists. you can still set up bots and play games, but there's not combat training progression. i was really disappointed about that. all the guns and unlocks are available right from the beginning, which isn't a bad thing, but part of the fun of multiplayer and combat training is the ever-present allure of unlocks. on the positive side, all game modes are available in bot games (free for all, team deathmatch, kill confirmed, domination, headquarters, etc). i really wish there were a combat training progression, but you can't win them all.

all in BO2 is without a doubt the best all-around CoD game since CoD4, in my opinion. there's plenty to admire and my hat's off to treyarch for making a concerted effort to try something new. given CoD's popularity they certainly didn't have to do it, but that fact that they did earns my respect. just hire some better writers next time.

Buy this in few weeks and it will be fine. It's buggy and online is just a mess for PS3. CoD games get frequent updates and I'm sure they will have this sorted out in a couple weeks. So if you can avoid freaking out and melting down, read on.

1) If you gave this one star, you probably shouldn't have bought it (or didn't and are trolling). It is exactly what you expect from any CoD game.

2) The PS3 version online is jacked up in the first couple day. THIS IS NOTHING NEW FOR CoD OR ANY OTHER FPS. It is simply a continuing tradition of shooters not working right on release. A couple weeks from now, things will smooth out and the game will work fine.

3) Zombie mode is bigger and better. It is really fun and a great co-op mode. It's still not Left4Dead, but it does offer some replay and something for people that don't like being cursed at by ignorant people online.

4) The campaign has MORE to offer than any of the recent CoD's. I still don't like it, but I never have.

5) When online works, the game is okay. It's super fast, twitchy and the guns all feel "samey", it's more rock paper scissors and online connection speed than my gun is stronger than yours (not including shotguns/snipers). Killstreaks have been dialed way back, so that's a plus or minus depending on your take. I'm just getting into league play, but it's interesting for people that enjoy playing right and work as a team. The perks and unlocks have been changed, but it's still the same fomula. Perform missions, get kills, get XP and unlock things; it's in a new wrapper though.

All in all, it's a CoD game. It's not the worst game ever and even though there are bugs on release, the campaign is super high quality, zombie mode is terrific and with the addtion of league play, online could have some legs for people like me that would rather play with a team that works together instead of a bunch of boosters and corner campers.

PS3 Version:

By now we all know that new CODs are the same thing with different weapons and different maps, give or take. NOT this one. The multi-player feels VERY similar to that of Battlefield, only a generic version of it. And you could definitely tell. The pistols are currently overpowered and occasionally, there tends to be small glitches when you die where you'll go through a wall and down to who knows where.

BIGGEST ISSUE OF ALL IS THE FREEZING.

I NEVER had an issue with my Ps3 freezing, now if I try to view my combat record, change an emblem, open a class, or do something new that required a bit of loading, my entire PS3 just freezes. It is not just me, you can hear many people complain about it throughout the server. FURTHERMORE, the server gets stuck with "Need more players to balance team" even with a full lobby. Sometimes, it'll work when someone gets frustrated and leaves.

If you're considering buying this, don't. Not until Treyarch fixes these issues.

If someone from Treyarch is reading this, know that you FAILED big time here. Honestly I feel like we deserve an apology for your team not fixing these issues before releasing them. I will admit that I will continue to play it simply cause my dumb self already put out the $60 bucks for this game. Thanks for nothing Treyarch!

11/20/2012 UPDATE

It has been a couple of days since my previous review. I force myself to play it because I want to like this game, considering I put out the $60. I sit, TRYING to like it, but I can't.

1) THE FREEZING STILL CONTINUES. It is hard to enjoy a game that freezes randomly in a menu. You get stuck anywhere from 5-10 minutes as the PS3 restores and does an error check. Yay!

2) If you make it to actual gameplay (as it loves to randomly freeze before the loading bar is full) you will find yourself annoyed by the amount of times you will be spawned in front of an enemy. Spawn camping is pretty easy to do on here, considering the huge amount of windows and high ground available. In one game, I was literally spawned about a meter away from a bouncing betty, and killed within seconds of spawning.

3) The shotgun is an amazing gun in this game. My favorite actually. However, occasionally, I find myself having to shot a person 3 times, point blank, to get a kill. Not quite sure how a point blank hit, dead center, with a shotgun, doesn't get you an immediate kill. I'm fairly confident on my accuracy, so I highly doubt it's an accuracy issue.

4) There is also this weird thing that I can't quite figure out. Sometimes while trying to join a friend's party, it says something about them needing to restart their playlists in order for you to join because your playlist is newer than theirs. On a couple of occasions I wasn't able to join parties because of this. I'm still trying to figure this out, but in the meantime, I'd like to point out that this shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

5) They closed down the Nuketown lobby. That sucks. I was expecting that to be a perk of pre-ordering the game. Guess not.

2/22/13

I went back to play this game after a while without playing it and they seem to have fixed the freezing! Yippee!! Now, why do I leave it as a rating of 1 star then?! I'll feed you baby birds! The game still freezes on Zombies. There is nothing more annoying than having your console freeze while being chased by a pack of zombies on level 31. Trust me, it will piss you off like never before. Doesn't happen always, but has happened enough times to be a burden. For those of you about to tell me it is my slow internet, I'm running on 65 Mbps. It isn't the fastest, but it is good enough to not be a problem.

There are a lot of things to like about this game, but the negatives outweigh the positives. Let's start with the positives: the score-streak setup they implement in this game is awesome. In addition to getting kills, you are rewarded for playing the objective and being a team player. I am also glad to see that the support strike package from MW3 and death-streaks are NOT in this game, so no more free stealth bombers and EMPs, and no more last/final stand, second chance, or dead man's hand. The way they have divided up the perks is superb as well, with no single perk being overpowered. Similar to the perks in this game, you will find that the guns are well-balanced also.

Unfortunately, even with these great features, the online multiplayer experience can be horrible at times. The lag compensation and hit detection in this game are worse than any of the three previous Call of Duty games (MW2, Black Ops 1, and MW3). It can be extremely frustrating to lose a gunfight to someone when, on your screen, you clearly should have come out on top. They have also taken away the ability to tie score-streaks to your custom classes, so if you find yourself struggling to win a gunfight due to lag or any other reason, you are stuck with the 3 score-streaks you chose and cannot switch to lower ones during a match. In addition to having horrible lag compensation and hit detection, the developers have implemented skill-based matchmaking, so even though the game has connection issues, players are not always placed in lobbies with the best ping. Often, players will be placed in games with worse connections in order to go up against players of similar skill level.

TL;DR: the connection issues in this game have absolutely ruined it. Though they have implemented some nice new features, the online multiplayer experience can be utterly frustrating.

Want Call of Duty: Black Ops II Discount?

I had hoped that after all lag issues we experienced in MW3 that this game would be the redeemer. Sadly it wasn't.

The online experience is horrid to say the least. The # 1 thing online games want is an equal playing ground. You get to compete against players who are better and worse than you and you improve accordingly. Skill seems to have very little to do with this game. Lag has killed the competitive element. All you need to do is watch the kill cam and you can easily see why you got out gunned. Players can be a full second or more ahead of you and what you are seeing in real time on your screen is not not real time at all. This is the last COD title I buy until they spend the money on dedicated servers. God knows these guys can afford it yet they refuse to fix their games. The instead tell their customers it their fault for having fast Internet. The other elements of the game are good it's just the lag that ruins the experience for me.

OMG. I have read so many horror stories about these knock offs. This one had no complaints though. I took the risk and got it. It works just like the Sony. Its all the same parts from what I can see on the outside. It feels the same. Buttons and joysticks are good. It vibrates like its supposed to, it connects, its wireless. Even my kids said why spend 3 times more when they are the same. I'm going to buy two more of this exact one.

This controller is way cheaper than the original sony ps3 controll. I bought it because it had a lot of good reviews. For games that do not require precision, like racing or fighting games, this controller is excellent. Can't really tell the difference. For first person shooter games, like call of duty and modern warfare, you will notice the difference. Let me explain, I have a very accurate aim in shooter games. Every time I aim with this controller, it seems to slightly aim around the player I'm shooting. It feels like there is an invisible force field around the player that causes my aiming to shoot just outside the target. It is more noticeable from longer range. Its very frustrating, and has caused my accuracy to go down. At first I thought the auto aim was disabled, not the case. Ive used it to play God of War 3, Rachet and Clank, little big planet, etc and you cant tell the difference. However, its made me scream my guts out and almost slammed the controller once after playing Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Very frustrating when it comes to first person shooter games. Hope this helps!!!!

When you hold this controller it really does feel like a cheap knock off that in reality, probably costs around 2$ to make. I thought it would last a few months at least, but it stopped turning on after 3 days, out of which it was used for about 1 hour. Stay far away from this product, otherwise you'll just be throwing your money away.

while I agree with most folks that this is an excellent package including over 30 DLC packs including all three expansions (the trouble with clones, Genki bowl, and gangstas in space)

the Big Problem I have here is they did NOT INCLUDE:

The Bloodsucker Pack (so you have to rebuy it again 1.99) and the Unlockable Pack is another 1.99. while this is not a deal breaker for me, if you're including ALL DLC and stating that on the package I shouldn't have to download anything nor pay for new dlc. also the Online Pass is Different from SR3 so you will need to download it again (code is provided) however if you buy it used, you will need to buy this (9.99) otherwise I noticed a few performance issues right off the bat including the main screen lagging. again, not a deal breaker but I wish they had taken some time to polish it up a tad.

overall it's a fantastic game with loads of comedic writing

it just has a few minor flaws I felt you should know about.

I will not fully review the game since that has been done to death I

am mainly reviewing the new product and informing about the DLC issue.

A Definate Must Buy for all SR3 Fans especally those that want the dlc on disc.

Graphics: 5 stars

Sound: (funny one liners) good tunes 5 stars

Gameplay: easy to control and simple to learn 5 stars

Fun: one of the most fun silly games ever 5 stars easily

Overall: though there's a few flaws in this new package, it's a 5 star deal!

UPDATE: after playing for a few more hours I can now confirm

all other dlc packs Except the one with the Hoverbike (I have not found the bike yet) but as you progress into the game all the unlocks show up (especally at your 1st crib) just thought I'd add this update. only the two I listed at the beginning of this review must be re-bought for 1.99 each.

UPDATE #2 I can now Confirm the Hoverbike as well. you need a

Helipad before you can access this DLC so no worries it's really there.

I'm late to jump onto the Saints Row bandwagon but whatever. I will preface by saying that I played Saints Row 2 before I played this game and share some of the anomosity some gamers have sent its way. While Saints Row 2 was the story of the Saints trying to wrestle control of Stilwater from 3 very different rival gangs each with their own story, Saints Row 3 drops our crew into Steelport...I don't really know why since it's never really explained. The game has decided to become very over the top and I knew this going in which is probably why I enjoyed it more than some other people who wanted something more akin to SR2.

Gameplay and controls are much like GTA4 but felt like they operated smoother for me. The storyline is completely ridiculous and I have to say I did not feel the same level of accomplishment as I did when I finished SR2. All that said the game is still very fun. The ridiculous storyline kept me going until the end and the homage to some old school games was welcome.

Let's just get this out there right now: Saints Row the Third is an amazing game. The amount of insane, over the top, awesome, and sometimes downright brutal things that you can do is quite staggering. Streak through the city streets while invincible (provided the proper ability is picked of course), the police firing rockets harmlessly at you? Yup, can do it. Play as a TOILET in a virtual world? Yeah that's there too. Fall thousands of feet in the air and land safely (again, relates to some abilities) on the ground? How about firing a megaman cannon at a bunch of mascots? Using a mind-control octopus on luchadores? All of that and MUCH more can be done in the game.

Also; if memory serves right, this is the first Saints to offer choices in a way. During certain missions, you'll be able to pick what you want to do, and get a reward accordingly. A DLC not included in the "full" package (there are two) offers BOTH rewards for all choices in the game which sort of ruins the idea yes, BUT should one not download it, then the the aspect of there being a choice (as opposed to being handed two rewards) is still there.

As always, character and vehicle customization is rather diverse. You can go from buff blue Amazoness one minute to a small, meek orange man the next, and everything in between. The customization is rich enough that the online community at the saints row website has characters of all sorts, a fair number of which are based off of popular shows or movies. All that being said, the crib customization seems a bit lacking this time around. You can do some auto-upgrades that just make the buildings taller and dole out more respect or cash, whereas (again, provided my memory is correct) in SR 2 you could customize it a fair amount.

Graphics are pretty good, not necessarily "omg amazing HD tastic" but not bad either. They're like high-middle tier. Sound is great, you can hear pretty much anything and everyone in game including civilians near to you or your car. Music's a bit lacking in choice this time around, and there's no option this time around to go and buy more.

In relation to the previous note (the drawback about the music), there's another drawback this time around. There's no way to replay story missions. Yes, for the clones and gangsta's ones you can (though I believe you have to redo the entire DLC story, instead of picking or choosing levels), but the main storyline you can only redo the last mission. Which is a bit of an annoyance as there are two achievements/trophies relating to Act 1, which requires you to play it twice in order to get.

All in all though it's a great game. I'll go so far as to say it's better than GTA even, and this is coming from a person who loved GTA4. So if you liked that, or Saints Row 2, or just like having goofy awesome fun, then you'll like this game. Just know you might wind up leaving the radio off :P

Oh and P.S trailblazing seems like the only activity who's hard mode wasn't slightly made easier, so it's still annoying as hell

We ordered this to repair my son's PS3. It was a fun project for us and a much less expensive fix than buying him a brand new PS3. He was back to playing his favorite games the same day that this arrived. A+

The one pictured above was not the one I was sent. My model numbers match the description of this item. I was sent a PS3 slim drive. I bought this because my ps3 stopped reading discs. Once it arrived I knew fairly well how to take apart my ps3 and replace the drive and PCB board. So I figured Id just swap the boards and use my metal plate from my old ps3. Well once installed I plugged everything back just how it was before and nothing. The disc spins and stops every 2 seconds. I regret buying this. Ive tried everything and nothing happens. Definitely sending this back. If anything changes i will update.

I was so bummed out when my PS3 stopped reading/recognizing any sort of disc. I thought I'd have to suck it up and buy a new PS4 when it comes out. I tried ALL the fixes (hidden menu, resetting, file restore, etc.) and nothing worked. I took apart my PS3 myself and tried fiddling around with it to get it to work but to no avail. In a last ditch effort, I decided to spend the money on a replacement Blu-Ray drive, especially after I found out that the PS4 is not going to be backwards compatible!

One thing to note that I didn't realize when I purchased this replacement drive, you'll need to swap out the PCB from your old broken drive with the one from the replacement drive. Apparently, it's not just plug and play because the drive is "married" to the PS3. There was a piece of paper that was shipped with the replacement drive that directs you to a Youtube video tutorial. Although the video was for the disassembly and replacement of a Blu-Ray drive in a PS3 slim and mine is an old fat one, it was easy to follow and worked anyway! I am now looking at my Black Ops II playing on my TV!!! YAY!!!!

I received the Drive without any issues. In my opinion I believe that installing this in a PS3 is not for a novice person because you are voiding the warranty on the PS3 and you could cause more damage. However, being that this was my first time opening my PS3 and installing this drive I did not have issues, luckily. Furthermore, this is the third week that the drive has been installed and so far no issues. Im not sure if it plays blu-rays because I don't own any. The install was little rough especially because the video that they have on you tube for the install is for a different PS3 but with some common sense, patience, delicate hands, and a little know how you shouldn't have any problems, I hope. Good Luck.

I have the Fat 40Gb PS3.

All i had to do was put in my fat ps3's PCB in with the new hardware piece. Connect it all back again and it was fixed.

Took me abut 10 minutes to take the ps3 apart, remove the blu ray drive, switch the PCB, and then put it all back together.

Shipping was pretty fast, I ordered it on a Friday July 5 and got it Monday July 8.
