Graphics are not exactly great, control is a bit clumsy and enemies aren't really enjoyable. At least its a bit better than Resistance 1 :)

I did not play this a few years ago when it came out, so I'm playing catch-up now. Great game and lots of fun. Graphics are good and the default set-up for controls are easy to manipulate. Great weapons, interesting Chimera enemy and story line is good as well. 3 different difficulty levels allows you to complete the story as quickly or as slowly as you wish. My girlfriend's son is 10 years old and REALLY enjoyed Resistance 1 and 2 as well. I already bought Resistance 3 and can't wait to get to it!

I first bought this game when it launched, I then trade it in so I could raise a little money for a trip with some friends and now I have bought it again because I missed it and wanted to try it out on the hardest level in anticipation of the 3rd installment coming out in a few months.

the Resistance 2 campaign lasts about 8-15 hours, dependent on difficulty and death frequency. The story is ok, but portions of it don't seem to make much sense. There aren't many unique weapons, but an alternate fire has been included in all weapons. The game plays like most modern FPS console games w/ taking cover to regenerate health, checkpoint saves, and non-random encounters, giving very little replay value.

multiplayeri only played the co-op, but it seemed difficult to join competitive games. When playing split screen co-op graphical detail decreases noticeably. there is a serious bug in 2 of the maps that result in uncompleteable objectives, that occurs sometimes. It is fun enough to play. Upgrades are unlocked through gameplay, and there are multiple objectives semi-randomly selected per level.

This bag lets you use your PS3 without unpacking it. Just open the bag for ventilation.

The pockets could be bigger. The CD slots are weird. They are oriented such that half of them face left and half of them face right. This guarantees that some of your games will slide out of the slots regardless of which way you tilted the bag. Still for $21, I cant complain too much.

Looks great, but the second day after applying, the yellow one fell off and cracks formed on the red and other heads. Considering a refund or exchanged, but see the same thing happening again. There just aren't skins for this set that can stand up to consistant playing. I have mine taped until I figure something out.

I love this sticker set but I think maybe it's been sitting around a while because the drum pads and the background wouldn't stay stuck down, quite a bit of peeling on the background and a little edge peeling on the pads. This review is based on testing the unit with a 60GB PS3.

At the time I am writing this review Amazon does not have a photo available for this unit, which is a shame because shoppers would be able to see how well the cooling unit joins with the PS3.

Though I have not heard any complaints of a PS3 overheating, the long-term effects are still unknown and I wanted to preserve my investment since the 60GB system (with the PS2 Emotion Engine installed for maximum backward compatibility) has been discontinued. I use the system to play games and watch movies on a regular basis, and after marathon game sessions I have noticed the system has felt fairly warm.

So, I was very pleased to see an almost instant effect from the Pelican cooling unit. Within minutes, the system was noticeably cooler to the touch and though the air coming out of the side vent was still warm, it was considerably cooler. It's worth mentioning that the cooling unit is designed so that two of the four exhaust fans are located on the bottom if you're playing with your system laying flat, therefore for maximum efficiency you should stand your PS3 up and place the cooling fan on top. Nevertheless, the unit does an excellent job of cooling down my system even with two fans blocked.

The cooling system comes with matching trim to blend in with the PS3 and does not need to be attached to the system with screws or hooks. A thin base tab allows the weight of the PS3 to keep the unit in place when laying flat, or the unit can simply be placed on top of an upright system and its own weight will keep it in place. Once setup, the system looks nearly identical as before, only slightly wider/taller.

The cooling system runs on its own AC power, but the temperature monitor is a great additional feature that automatically puts the unit in standby mode once the system has reached a certain temperature. After playing games on the system for nearly two hours, I turned the PS3 off and within three minutes the cooling fans had shutdown as well.

I would deduct a half-star if I could because the unit is not quite "whisper quiet." The fans are louder than the PS3. However, average TV volume is enough to drown out the sound. Not a big deal, and definitely not worth deducting a full star from an otherwise great accessory for the PS3. I would fully recommend this cooling unit to anyone interested in taking an extra step in preserving their PS3 system.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

I have not had any cooling problems. I invested in this unit to hopefully keep it that way. It works exactly the way it should. It is not horribly loud. You can hear the fans but there are five extra fans, so you will hear them running. The noise is not obnoxiously loud.

For those of you who have had troubles with the fans not shutting down after use, I feel for you and hope you can either have the unit repaired or replaced. My unit shuts down after the PS3 has be shutdown for 40-minutes...and that is after I have played games for more than 8-hours. I know, I am a game junkie :)

Have a great Holiday!

Buy Pelican Accessories Pro Cooler for PS3 Now

So I got a PS3 about two months ago. Best system out there.

But a week after use, it crashed due to overheating problems that I've been hearing about.

This usually isn't a problem I don't think, but my room holds in heat pretty well and that probably contributed to the system failure.

In any case, this fan system is awesome.

It's made to look like the actual system, and from a distance you can't tell it apart. Easy to use, no installation, plug in and turn it on.

It also switches on and off depending on the temperature of the system. How awesome is that?!

The only qualm I have about it is that the fan is pretty damn loud when you first start to use it. But after a few weeks, it works it's own kinks out and is now smooth as silk.

Must Buy, MUST BUY.

My 60gb Playstation 3 suffers from either a broken heat sensor, fan or fan control and does not properly cool itself, sometimes the fan will not even be on while the machine is very hot. This leads to it overheating, especially the GPU. Since it is out of warranty my choices were either get it repaired by Sony, buy a replacement (however, the 60gb model has the best features, and those are out of production), fix it myself or buy a cooling solution. I tried to fix it myself but I found no obvious cause to the problem after taking apart my PS3, so I bought this and it has so far done a great job in keeping my PS3 from overheating, and therefore has definitely been worth the purchase cost.

Pros:

*Automatically turns on and off when it's needed.

*Aesthetically matches the PS3

*Keeps my PS3 from overheating, saving me hundreds of dollars.

*Perfectly located near the hottest part of the PS3.

Cons:

*Lit switch on the back is obnoxious. I will probably disable it by hand once this things warranty is out.

*Fat power supply brick cord takes up too much room on power supply.

*Manually adjustable fan control would have been a nice feature in addition to automatic control.

Other:

*Fan noise is more noticeable than my PS3's fan was when it was working, however considering this is an external fan, it's fan noise is pretty solid. One thing to note is that the fan first turns at full blast then moves down to a lower speed. Wait a few minutes before you judge the fan noise.

Contrary to other reviewer's comment, I find the game pretty awesome (most probably because of the Hong Kong street scenes that feel 200% home). It takes a bit of a learning curve to master the moves, but they are never non-responsive. There is also a lot of replaying value as the "routes" can be very different every time, if you choose to do it the non-conventional way.

Consider it like a more grown up version of locoroco, that's what this game is about. Not for the serious serious gamer, but completely lovely if you want to get wacky surprises on the rolling lane very true-to-life depiction of Hong Kong too.

As the first game I've acquired since buying a MOVE I have to say I'm pretty pleased. If you go into this game expecting it to be a simple, arcade game in line with Crazy Taxi mixed with a bit of a beat-em-up, then you won't be disappointed. It's pretty fun and while the medal searching free missions are a bit noggin scratching at times it's still a good time waster if you can find it for under $10. One last note, it only has 12 trophies as it originally was to be a PSN game so if not being able to Platinum a retail title bothers you that much word of warning; for all the rest that just want to have fun then get it!

Buy Kung Fu Rider (Motion Control) Now

It has been floating around that this is one of the worst games ever for the PS3. Making it easily the worst Move game ever. But in reality it is a pretty awesome game. First off this game IS gimmicky by all means could of been done on the normal controller even most of the "move" movements. But thats the point of the move right? Just a different way to play. This game is truly just zanny and fun. It like an old arcade game in spirit mixed with Crazy Taxi or Jet Set Radio. No story line (but who needs one) just racing down hill away from the mob... on anything and everything with wheels. The game may just be to hard to be casual and to casual to please those who are considered the "hardcore" gamer. People seem to be all relating that back to the controls themselves. You can go to the options menu and adjust when your character jumps and boosts. After I did that I had no problems it just all became about vigilance and reflexes.

So who should buy this game? Anyone who loves the classic going for a high score game and likes a good challenge. Also who can find it for like 25 bucks or lower because this SHOULD of been a PSN title. The Trophy support and all the content point to that. 40 dollars is honestly to much. It seems they even gave you all the launch Move demos on disc with it to try and ease the pain of the price tag. I think this was just another game to BULK up the releases on the day Move launched. Just like Eye Pet where the normal game was just going to use a pad the game came with and the controller but now in the U.S. its a Move title.

In the end I give this game such a high score to curb the bad reviews its getting. Its still a great game and I have no regrets buying it. But I DID NOT and WOULD NOT pay 40 for it. There should be normal controller support (could be patched) and it should of just been a PSN title and/or just been cheaper in the first place(shop around).

I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I did run out and buy a PS3 Move wand and a game when it was first released. I debated whether or not to buy the Sports game for PS3 Move, but I already have Wii Sports and Sports Resort. So I decided to take a chance on Kung Fu Rider. I knew it was silly when I bought it, I mean... come on, racing on an office chair? I guess that mindless aspect of the game appealed to me. It's a fun game that incorporates a little of many other types of games. The graphics are Wii-like and it does seem a little like a demo to show what's possible with the Move wand (which is awesome!!!). Unfortunately, when the game wasn't as responsive to the Move wand as it should be, I figured it was just my inexperience. However, after gaining experience and reading other reviews, I've learned that sometimes the game inaccurately responds to movement of the wand, or doesn't respond at all, or responds when it shouldn't. That's disappointing. In hindsight, I wouldn't pay full price for it.

The movements to control your chair are awkward and can be done lazily from a chair and a flick of the wrist. I wish there was more movement utilized in game play and a better story attached.

Silent Hill 2 is on my short list of favorite games, as it is, I'm sure, on most Silent Hill fans' lists. It, and the first game, are shining examples of why this series is spectacular. Unfortunately, they are the only two games that I feel are great in the series. The third one felt more like a coda to the first (and was way too short), while the foruth one had more than a few design flaws that made me lose interest.

So, now the torch has been passed to Double Helix, an American developer, and the result is Silent Hill: Homecoming. Even with its flaws (and boy does it have some), Homecoming has become my second/third favorite game of the series and bodes very well for Silent Hill's future.

The story begins with you, as Alex Shepherd, tied to a gurney and being pushed down dilapidated halls of some hellish hospital. Looking to your right and left, you see even more disturbing sights as doctors drill into a patient or drop a body down a large and presumably deep hole. Eventually, you're led into an observation room and left alone. The doctor that left you is murdered, you break free of your bonds and have to make sense of where you're at.

Right away, the game had its hooks in me. This first level terrifically set up the rest of the game, but also presented some genuine frights and more than a few disturbing sections. From here, you'll go back home and try to figure out why Shepherd's Glen is cloaked in fog, where your brother left, why your mother seems catatonic and what exactly lurks in your flooded basement...

From a story perspective, Homecoming feels like a mix of Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 (with a splash of Saw thrown in the mix), which is definitely a good combination. Unfortunately, the story is also the most straight forward of the series (it's a Western game now) and while they try to mimic the essence of Silent Hill, they lose the ambiguous feel that tasks you with putting everything together. By the end of the game, you pretty much know all there is to know. Some might like that, but it was a sore spot for me.

The combat system, which was supposed to push Silent Hill into this new realm, isn't very good. In fact, I found myself trying to avoid enemies more in Homecoming than in any of the previous titles. On paper, it sounds good: light attack, strong attack and dodge. But the problem is that you absolutely have to dodge attacks or even the lowly dogs will eat your face. The problem is further amplified by the small, claustrophic areas you are in. A lot of battles take place in very tight corners, making dodging very difficult. And even when you successfully dodge in the small rooms, eventually you'll run into a corner, the camera will go wacky and you won't be able to see what you're fighting or, more importantly, see when to dodge.

Then, when you're in the big rooms, Double Helix is kind enough to throw two or three (or five) enemies at you at once. Dodging one is a pain in the butt as it is, but trying to juggle three enemies is...well, it's hell. Add to this some enemies with their gaseous breath that I could never seem to dodge and halfway through the game I never wanted to see another monster again. And don't get me started on the boss fights...

So, why the four star review? Because of what happens halfway through the game. At the halfway point, the game ratchets up the tension, brings the story into new light and really made me want to play more. In fact, I played the last half of the game in one sitting because I had to see how it was going to end. The last half really makes up for any of the deficiencies in the game.

Graphically, Homecoming is obviously the best in the series. The new sheen of gloss mostly works, though some of the monsters with the more colorful highlights (the gaseous monsters, for instance, with their red chests) look fake and break the color scheme. Taking a page from the movie, the transitions to the other world are real time, with the paint flaking off and floating into nothingness. It's cool but it's not as terrifying as waking up or just finding yourself in the other world.

And, of course, the music is phenominal. Akira Yamaoka, series music/sound effects creator and producer, returns to craft a haunting score that mixes industrial with noises, rock and some heart-pumping effects. Very awesome, some of the best of his music in my opinion.

In the end, Silent Hill: Homecoming is a great addition to the series. It feels like the most cohesive Silent Hill story since the second game and tries to branch into new territories. Having a new developer really helped the series avoid becoming stagnant. And even with some faulting moments, it really is an involving and engrossing trip into hell. Definitely recommend giving it a chance.

I have to admit, I was a little wary of this game after hearing a lot of not-so-positive reviews. I will say that most of the criticism this game has received is pretty on the money. The atmosphere is creepy, but not very scary. The controls are a little uneven in a lot of points (you have to be standing just right to open doors and examine objects). And the story is very straight-forward compared to Silent HIll's 1 & 2 (they're the only one's I've played before this one).

Now that that stuff is out of the way, let me tell you why this game is actually worth owning (or at least maybe a weekend rental). The soundtrack is excellent. A lot of reviews, even the one's disfavoring the game are pointing out Akira Yamaoka's musical selection and it's some of the most eerie and rousing I've heard in a video game. It almost seems in-tune to what you have your character doing. The sound effects are perfectly tuned as well, from footsteps, to creaky metal sounds.

The story in this game comes across as a bit typical at first (the nightmare intro is VERY slow), you're a war veteran coming home to find your hometown empty of people and your brother and father missing. What I didn't expect was to be swept into the story and I actually wanting to keep playing to find out what happened next.

Another big criticism of this game was the fact you are playing a combat heavy character making alot of enemy encounters no where near as scary as they were in the previous titles. This is true. However I personally find this approach a bit refreshing. It took some getting used to, but once I tried out all the combos I actually had fun in fights. Again, not everyone's cup of tea but it's different.

The graphics aside from some clipping errors (and the sandy cam filter and lame water animation) are VERY good. You can actually look off in the distance and pick out locations in the game you've been to or are going to. The cemetary's, playgrounds and other outdoor locations really bring you into the world. It's no GTAIV, but you can pratically BREATH the fog and stale air.

Anyway, I hope this helps you decide on this purchase of the game. It's not perfect, but it's fun and unique enough that it kept me hooked.

i personally hate how much people say this game was awful ive beaten all SH games exept shattered memories and 4 and i cant see why people say this trash? so it was made in US so what it was still awesome loved the story main character and everything about it. this game is actualy very fun, it does have some altered controls that can be a little difficult to get used to but once you do youl enjoi it, the things people say about this game are usally just people complaining about every little thing. in short its a great buy. give it a try.

This is not a good Silent Hill game...I would say it's the least impressive of all the major releases to date. It's a very small-time venture, and only holds about two-thirds of the amount of gameplay that I would wish for in a game from this series.

Lets start with the plot...A man named Alex comes home to the sleepy town of Shepherd's Glen only to find fog everywhere and the town eerily deserted and locked up tight. In his wanderings he comes across about 5 people (amazingly all have some important connection with him), one of whom is his mother who tells him his brother is missing. This is pretty banal, as 99.99% of the whole TOWN is missing, but anyway, Alex goes off on a search that takes him through foggy streets, a cemetery, a prison, a hotel and so on. On several occasions, Alex spots the young brother, who (stop me if you've heard this before) always trots off round a corner just as Alex calls his name and approaches. Yawn! How much longer are we going to have to put up with that old plot mechanic? As well as the cliched speech that Alex gives to everyone he meets: "I need to find my brother! Have you seen him". Anyway it isn't long before Alex starts to realise there's a whole lot of nastiness going on, and so the tale unfolds.

Lets leave the plot there and concentrate on what's good and bad about the game.

GOOD: Graphics are great, some of the scenery is terrific and there's lots of detail. There is also a really nasty climax to the whole game with large dollops of very shocking gore and torture be prepared for this. There are some new monsters with some cool designs (we liked the poison gas belching things, the Scarlet boss, and the gas chamber boss).

BAD: And, sorry folks there is more bad than good. The character faces look awful Alex looks like an eyerolling zombie in some shots. The controls are pretty bad and you get REALLY low maximum ammo capacity! Cruelly, you often can't even backtrack to pick up unused stashes when you need them either this game is really linear. And the inventory ring is terrible! If you open it and then quit without making a selection, you automatically use or equip whatever was on the screen at the time you quit and in my case I was continually using up the best healthpacks (serums) even when I didnt want to. BAD DESIGN! Plus, the locations are fun but quite small and more of those frickin' faceless nurses enough already!!! Think of something new!

Finally the PS3 version is also pretty buggy several times puzzles look like they have gone wrong but still work (the four locks on Alex's house?) and you often see screens glitching between game view and cut scenes.

All in all it's a bit botched. Seems like quite a rushed job with some very ugly scenery in places (The Lair? What was THAT?). Added to this how short (and also easy) it is, and you won't be spending very long in Silent Hill this time. Not to mention that the game spends precious little of the time in Silent Hill anyway (and both it and Shepherd's Glen have a ridiculously small amount of explorable streets).

The only thing that really lingered in my mind was some of the graphic violence (I think the 18 rating is earned), but most of the rest of this trip to Silent Hill only warrants a flying visit.

Want Silent Hill: Homecoming Discount?

I didn't buy this game from Amazon but I thought I would write a review of the game for those who are thinking of buying it from Amazon.

The plot is about a guy name Alex who is looking for this brother Joshua. Just like most Silent Hill games are; you're looking for someone.

I really liked this game, being a Silent Hill fan, it is probably one of my top favorites from the series. I can probably say that I loved this game. The story is good. It is creepy, ecspecially when the main character's brother [This is located in the start of the game] asks you to get his toy for him and while you are looking around all you can hear is him whispering your name and giggling[ along with some of his humming too]. I say creepy and eerie, I wouldn't say I lost any sleep over this game.

There is not too much exploring to do, but that is ok with me because I don't like to feel like I am wandering around aimlessly anyway. There is more exploring I would say in the alternative world. The controls are fairly easy to handle. The one really difficult part of this game is combat, more so with the bosses than anything else, though you do get hints after dying. Some bosses were...tough, but passable. All in all I enjoyed the game, plus though there are new creatures some of the Silent Hill favorites still in here [Like Pyramid Head].

The games for the PS3 do not seem to have very many 2 player games that DON'T require internet. Which is one reason I enjoyed this game so much, because it was an actual two player game and both players could play the entire storyline (not just certain chapters like some games that say they are two player). My boyfriend and I loved playing this game. The graphics are pretty good, the storyline isn't bad, even though I would like to skip over the whole 'movie scenes' that they do and get back to the actual game.

Overall, this game is fun and I thought it was worth the money.

Playing this game today makes this seem like old graphics, but at the time these were the new and high end graphics. I love this game so much. The best part is how awesome it is playing the campaign split screen. It says you can play up to 4 players split screen but I only have 3 controllers and it hasn't been working with 3. Maybe you can only play with 1, 2 or 4 players. The game can be kinda challenging, especially at the beginning before you regenerate any health. I wish you didn't have to pick up health but its not so bad. (You pick up health and you also regenerate 1 4th of your health). The chimera are so cool and I have the second game too. I highly recommend this game. I can almost call it a classic but it is still kinda next gen. BUY THIS!

I had a problem telling apart my controllers. I got black controllers before Sony came out with other colors. Easy to install, clean off your table take the controller apart and add the new buttons. I only wish that they printed the buttons on the clear, the triangle x o and square. As long as you know what button your pressing, but other people who are not aware of the buttons may have problems.

I'm giving this such high ratings because this game cost me less than a cup of coffee to purchase. But aside from the pricepoint it is seriously the most fun I've had with a basketball game since the one I've played on the Dreamcast years ago. It's definitely arcadey so one player on your team can win it for you, but that's the type of game I want. If you want a simulation, then please skip. The graphics are really good even by today's standards. I don't know about any modes since I only play quick match.

This is simply the best basketball sim out there. The graphics are insane, the sixaxis ball control is unimaginable, the game of the week brings you back again and again. Simply playing a game with a friend is in one word FUN. A must buy for any PS3 owner.

This game, MLB the show, and probably Hot shots golf and definately best in their class... Enjoy.

Good Game. They must improve the online feature. but it is good for me. I recomend it

This core game here is very good, however lacking a campaign or franchise mode really hurts the game. Additionally the AI gets predictable over time and you start blowing out the computer.

Not a bad game, but not great either.

This game has an undeserved bad reputation on the web. Simply, it shouldn't be considered a simulation. The play is more arcade-style. The developer's have obviously spent more focus on 'feel & technique' than 'deep' franchise options. But that doesn't mean weak replay valueevery week you get to download roster updates and challenges. This means that while watching ESPN, if you see a sick NBA play... you might get a chance to recreate the moment yourself through NBA 08. Plus Sony has LeaderBoards for these challenges (and online play, of course). When I bought this game there were 3 of us here. Within 2 hours of purchase we were all yelling at my set and having a great time. Later, motivated, we went out and played some ball of our own. This is THAT type of game. So my final recommendation would be: If you have 1080p/HDMI/HDCP (the graphics amaze),have PS3 online, and commonly play with friends/family, yes get it. Otherwise, I'd hesitate.

I have the Rockband 2 wireless drums with cymbals, and I love these things! The rubber tips are removable. They don't cancel much noise, but the bounce they produce on the pads is incredible! They make drumming so much easier. If you have the cymbals, they are just as loud and don't quite bounce as well. They are also thicker, so if the cymbals are too high, you will be hitting them with the stick instead of the tip. The tips also seem to wear rather quickly, but all in all, these are worth it.

Sticks are great, much sturdier than the set that came with my Guitar Hero drums. Rubber tips stay on, and are quieter and provide better bounce off the heads. Recommended if you need new sticks.

I actually prefer the drum pad silencers with the regular sticks. I purchased both the pads and the rubber tip sticks at the same time though. After putting on the pads, I find that the regular sticks sound about as quiet as these rubber tipped ones and the regular sticks provide much better bounce on the pads. Save your money. Buy one or the other not both. Not that these do not work, just that they are not needed if you have the pads and actually I doubt I will ever use them now. They just do not work well with the pads, in my opinion.

I bought these for someone else, and she doesn't like them very much. They are cute, but they aren't very useful.

She says they make it very difficult to "feel" what's going on with the drums. I'm not a drummer, so I'm not exactly sure what she means by that, but I assume she means the rubber tips make it hard to feel the appropriate vibrations or bounce-back.

They don't mitigate the sound as well as you would hope, either. The rubber tips are supposed to cut down on the noise from drumming, but they really offer very little sound mitigation.

She also says the tips tend to fly off, especially after you've had them for a while and they start to get stretched out.

If you just want some cooler-looking drumsticks, these are probably fine. But I wouldn't buy them thinking they will dull the sound much.

Just wanted to point out that these drumsticks aren't exactly rubber tipped they COME with rubber tips, and the rubber tips are red rather than the white that is the tip color of these sticks.

If you're looking for drumsticks with a cool pattern that say RockBand on them, you'll like these they're 5A's, btw. Otherwise you can buy rubber tips for your sticks at some online music stores.

This cover is more exciting than the game itself... So-so graphics, the voice warning about sharp left-right turns, jumps, etc., gets boring after awhile as it sounds like an 80's arcada game coin-op voiceover... Shame Activision, seems you were in a rush to put this one out... Hopefully it will keep the kids busy for a bit so I can get some of my money's worth... Rent it if you need to get it out of your system!

It's no DIRT by Codemasters but it's fun to play. I have not tried the other Baja 1000 Edge of Control yet. For it's price it's worth it. Fun race courses and events. Big name racers are on it like Post, Herbst, Sohren, McMillan etc... That's just the Trophy Trucks. Three stars because it's not as realistic as DIRT but still good.

I actually leave in Ensenada (Home of the Baja Races), and this game shows realistic scenarios of some parts of the race, but the grahics are not that good.

Recomended for the hard core baja fans as part of their collection. But not so good for the videogames fans.

this game is fun to play. though i'm not real happy with it thankfully i got it used. the game play to me isn't very realistic at all. the handling isn't to bad after you take the time to get used to it. grapics aren't the best either its no dirt by far. it was still a fun game to play. i really like the all the types of rides you get to play though. you can be a dirt bike a 4 wheeler dune buggies and trucks. overall the game is fun to play and i did enjoy it.

Well the big surprise for me was that I could play Augusta right out of the box. I expected to have to 'earn' my way up to unlock that course, but it's right there and available when you first fire up the game (well...after downloading updates, signing in, registering, refilling your drink like three times through all this tedious nonsense...)

Play control (with the standard controller...I'm not using Move) should be pretty simple to figure out if you've played previous versions. My last version was '09, so it's been awhile. I got comfortable pretty quickly and was able to play a 1 under par round at Augusta on the first try. So no problems there.

My complaints about the game are that I expected graphics to improve over time, but it just hasn't happened. Everything looks fuzzy or slightly out of focus. The ball often disappears when landing on the fairway. Motion isn't always necessarily smooth either, with a bit of stop and go jittering (not during swing, thank goodness) going on, as if the system is being taxed to its limits. Also, there's a sound effect on 17 or 18 at Augusta that I'm guessing is supposed to be waves or breeze in the distance, but immediately reminds you of a sleeping heavy breather. There are annoyances I have with the putting as well. The system seems to limit how far back you can swing with the putter, in some cases making it impossible to reach the hole, especially if you choose to try to putt from the fringe of the green. I may have not completely figured out the control, though.

Still, this is as close as most of us will ever get to playing Augusta, and the fact you can do it right out of the box in practice rounds without so much as signing into the EA servers is cool by me.

I just got the game today and yes it is addicting if you do like to play golf. It is fairly easy on amateur mode and if you need help the caddy gives you great shot opportunities because the caddy knows exactly the right shot in the right situation most of the times. If you have trouble knowing how to read the wind or knowing how to hit a fade or draw, use the caddy to your advantage. It is great when you are teeing off and can be great when shooting with irons, I got two eagles with irons and chip shots, but the putting leaves a lot to be desired. Putting is by far the most frustrating part of the game because you can mishit the putt on occasion once you get used to the putting and trust me the first hour you will be mad as hell with putting but just be patient and you will get better at it. Its fun to play the game because you do have to spend a significant amount of time leveling up the player, but guess what? you have five 5X exp as an option before you start the round and you can refill those five again with the only 5 refills. I do not understand however the reason why EA has to have people buy more coins with their money for a game that costs $60, but that is an issue that I have with the developer of the game.

The shot trace is easy to follow and is not really noticeable on amateur as you do not have to move the analog stick diagonally, but I will try that out later for draws and fades. Yes it will take time to build up your character but honestly how many people buy a golf game every single year like madden? So you can buy this game and keep it for a few years as I doubt much would change year to year. You have to be able to appreciate golf to play this game I think in order to get the full experience because golf in real life is frustrating so remember not everything can go your way, but once you learn how to putt its going to be an easy and an enjoyable game because it is such an excellent game in the graphics, the gameplay, and the different levels from amateur up to tournament pro.

Please take my word for it and verify my words online if you dont believe me. They make you PAY to get all the courses. I am so upset right now I cant even tell you. I LOVE this game but again, they make you pay to get the good courses. It's the biggest scam ever!

I am surprised that Amazon is still selling this game. In playing it, we set up our own golfers, play challenges and earn trophies. After you win about 30 trophies, the game freezes up on the first green every time, so you have to set up a new golfer, then get to the same point and it freezes up again, not allowing you any further in the game. I am totally discouraged at EA Sports and their golf games, will never buy another one again. I went to their web site, commented on my issues, same as hundreds of others and have not heard back from them with a fix. Please take this game off your availability of games, you would be smart to do that Amazon.

I agree with the reviews that say that if you haven't purchased a recent title in this series, this game is a must-have. It seems that a lot of folks on the net have ranked this title down because it has little new over PGA TOUR 12, but I hadn't played the series since '08 and this game is awesome!

So a lot is new for me and it's all great. Career mode is terrific and the seamless incorporation of online is very well-done. Something that IS new for PGA TOUR 13 is the Country Club feature and this has been a LOT of fun for my friends and I that play online together. Caddy Mode (not sure when that was new) is also a very good addition to the game allowing to very different and realistic ways to play.

There is no practice area and while I would still like one, it isn't as necessary as it might seem. I do not like the emphasis on additional charges for power ups (nor the fact that a practice area is included only in an upgrade version), but the power-ups are unnecessary and you can try them out with the few "freebie" coins you receive.

With not too much practice, you can easily shape ball trajectory and make some amazing shots. Same thing with draining those 30-foot putts.

Load times between holes are reasonable, but the load time simply in changing menus is really too long.
