There's not much to say about this controller, it works great and it's really fun to play with. One important detail that is not mention on the description, is that this controller works with Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band and Rock Band 2

I pre-ordered the band kit for World Tour and had it delivered the day it came out, meaning as of this writing I've owned the game for roughly 4 months.

Yesterday, my guitar was rendered useless.

Let me start out by saying that I am an avid fan of the GH series. I own every game except the Aerosmith version, which I still played in length. As for guitar controllers, I own this one and the GH2 version. To this day the GH2 guitar works perfectly. The same cannot be said for the World Tour guitar.

My trouble started about a week after receiving the band kit. Every so often, the alignment would get stuck in the down position, meaning I would have to turn the controller off to fix it. Irritating, but not a big deal. A month later the strum bar started registering two strums every so often when it was only strummed once. Quite a bit more irritating, but I was able to live with it. Fast forward to last night, and my guitar is more or less useless. It will only register a proper strum about 25% of the time; the rest either register as two strums or don't register at all.

Keep in mind that I in no way man-handled or misused the controller. I never used excessive force on the strum bar and when not using the guitar it sat on a secure hook on the wall. It never fell, I never dropped it, nothing was spilled on it, it was never stepped on.

Keep in mind also that I really didn't use it all that much. I played about 5 hours a week max for about 4 months. The previously mentioned GH2 controller probably got 10 times the amount of use and is still working perfectly (knock on wood).

I was considering buying the upcoming GH Metallica bundle, but if it's just the same guitar I don't want to waste my money. I'll most likely buy a PS2 adapter and use my GH2 guitar as a replacement.

great guitar only problem ive had with it, is it always is recognized as the second controller and i have to change it manually to the first one. i dont know how to fix the problem properly, otherwise it functions just as expected

Great product. Love the guitar and works great with Rock Band 2. Not so much a fan of GHWT game but love the guitar. The frets are alot more comfortable for my hands than the RB2 guitar and having the star power button at the palm of the hand is great. Recommend this for a guitar controller

We bought GHWT and included this extra guitar so that we can have 4 players and have a lead guitar and bass at the same time. (GHWT comes with just one guitar.)

I liked this one because it was the "standard" for the game.

I love how they include stickers to personalize the guitars, too...

GHWT has the best controllers (from what I've heard) included with the game (as opposed to Rock Band or Rock Band 2) and I wanted to be sure we had the longest-lasting, most usable controllers for our setup.

FOLLOW-UP...Well, I wrote this review based on the original guitar in the package that came with the full-game. When I opened this particular guitar, it was broken out of the box. The strum bar didn't work at all. What a disappointment! I had to send it back to Activision...seems that this is a common issue. Bummer.
