This is a decent upgrade to the standard Rock Band guitar if you're willing to spend the extra money. The build is solid and has a heavier feel than the standard guitar. The metal whammy bar and buttons are a nice touch, and the fret buttons are quieter than the first generation guitar.
One important caveat: when first playing it, the plastic neck separated slightly and caused another click when pressing the fret buttons. This did not affect play, but was annoying (considering the price of the guitar). I performed some minor surgery by removing the screws and adding some superglue to the inside of the neck. No issues so far.
If you're looking for an attractive upgrade to your Rock Band guitar or want to annoy your wife with more fake plastic instruments, this is a good deal. Recommended.

When I received it, I was somewhat impressed. The frets seemed to be very quiet and responsive, it was the usual plastic, but had a better, quality feel to it. When I played it, I was truly shocked at how loud the strum bar was. This thing is so loud, I'm surprised my neighbor didn't knock on my door and ask what I was beating on. I live in a town home that has pretty decent insulation. I can turn up my TV/stereo up to a decent level without disturbing the neighbors. The strum bar was LOUDER than the gameplay music! You would have to have your stereo cranked up simular to the loudness of a club for the strum bar to not be a factor. How did this even go into production with the strum bar being this loud? I can't see anyone wanting to use this guitar unless they have a massive stereo system that is cranked up every time they play.Buy PlayStation 3 Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Telecaster Player's Edition - Light Blue Now
