The game is a great bridge between Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. It is very short, but entertaining nonetheless. Not a lot of frills, such as Trophies or Skill Points, but it filled the void (had you been waiting for Crack in Time) BIG NOTE: Unless you are a person with money to burn, do not buy this game for more than $15 (the price as PSN download).

this game was a good link between tools of destruction and a crack in time. Short game only about 2 hrs to beat. Revealed some info for a crack in time and intergrated some the gameplay style. One wohever is posting this for $150 is nothing more than a scam artist. I can't believe this had a 7% view to buy percentage, download on psn $15. Honestly if your dumb enough to pay that much you deserve to get screwed.Buy Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty Now
*** Before I get into the review for this title, please take note. A physical disk copy of this game is a PAL copy of the game. The game is available on the Playstation Network (in North America) for just $14.99. Check the Playstation Network Store to see if the title is available for a digital purchase before spending extra on a physical copy. The PSN and Disk version are identical ***Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is a title available on the Playstation Network in North America(PSN-NA), and available via Blu-Ray disk in Europe/Asia. This game released in 2008 as a storyline bridge between "Tools of Destruction"(2007) with "A Crack in Time"(2009). Without spoiling too much from Tools of Destruction, Ratchet is now on a quest to find his buddy Clank. This quest leads him back to his old pirate 'friend' SLAG. After being captured and essentially shot out of a cannon, Ratchet finds himself on a strange island that actually holds a clue to finding Clank; and so the story beings. Being released in 2008 and currently (10/2/2011) still asking $14.99(on PSN-NA), the question is, do you get your $'s worth here and is this game worth investing in?
It depends on who you ask, but it also depends on expectations. There are many problems with Quest for Booty, but also some really nice improvements. If you are a fan of Tools of Destruction, you might be a little disappointed to find out that Quest for Booty has very little combat and only a handful of weapons/tools for use. The major focus here is traveling from one linear area to the next, solving platform based puzzles. The game starts you off with just a handful of what was available to you in Tools of Destruction, but once you are banished to the island the game pulls a Metroid/God of War. You lose EVERYTHING! for the most part. At this point the game becomes heavily platform based with just small moments of combat until you start to find your weapons again. Even then, the game is focused more on platforming/puzzles than a mixture of elements. Clocking in at around 3 4 hours the game is quick to shuffle you along and gives you no reason to stick around in areas. There are no collectables, no hidden schematics, no shops or armor upgrades. There isn't even an upgrade system; Just a linear quest for booty so to say.
Not all is bad with this game however. The game handles exceptionally well and the added year of polishing for the graphics engine shows. Puzzles have become more 3-dimensional, with the game actually twisting the map for your position. The ability to walk sideways on walls, grapple platforms and twist them around (or pull them). The game mechanics have been cleaned up nicely. What combat is present feels more polished than in Tools of Destruction. Even the camera controls and camera placement just feels better, and smoother! The sound track for the game is top notch and the voice acting is just as good as in Tools of Destruction. Putting aside the weapons and shooting elements past installments focused on, the puzzle elements that Quest for Booty incorporates are probably the best to date (I have not yet played Crack in Time at the time of this review). They take even better advantage of the PS3's power. It was a lot of fun walking sideways on walls while having to time jumps, plus the grinding segments were more complex this time around instead of just simple jumping... even throwing in having to throw objects at targets while grinding. The puzzle elements are the main focus here and the improvements made to them are fantastic!
OVERALL Ratchet and Clank: The Quest for Booty is a tough game to give a score to. If you are going into this game focused solely on storyline elements and solving some puzzles then it is a 4 star title. If you are going in expecting an expansion to Tools of Destruction, well you will be very disappointed as if you compare the two titles, Quest for Booty comes off as lacking about 60% of what Tools of Destruction had. I feel this game falls around the middle at 3 stars. There are fun, enjoyable puzzle elements with a good continuing of the storyline. Despite being extremely linear the game flows well and the puzzles are fresh and entertaining. The problem though, is there isn't much to change up the pace. Much of what made Tools of Destruction such a great game has been removed from this title. Weapons were put to the back burner, no upgrades, no collectibles, no skill points.. in fact there really isn't any reason to replay the title once you finish it (Unless you really want to do the puzzles over again). At $14.99 (on PSN-NA), the price is fair for a 3-4 hour title but with a lack of replay value and a lack of focus on the other aspects of Ratchet and Clank games... this title just feels incomplete. 3 Stars / 77%

This is a must have game for the Ratchet and Clank faithful but I'm thinking the game price is a typo. The full game is available on the Playstation Network to download for $14 and change, so I'm not sure why it's listed here as $149.99. Maybe they meant $14.99. Buy it on the Playstation Network and save $134 + dollars. This was a cool PSN game in the US but, who in their right mind wouldn't import this for $150 .....
