Today's Bonus:
It is a very good thing that this controller is only around $6, because it is a complete rip off.
I'll start with the good though:
-The buttons are all very smooth
-All the PS3 Controller accessories I got for it fit perfectly (trigger extensions and Keypad)
-It can be run on a PC immediately without needing to install any 3rd party drivers.
The bad:
It claims to be a PS3 off-brand controller lacking only the Sixaxis motion control. But in reality, it is lacking pretty much everything.
-It has no motion control like it says
-It also has no rumble
-It has no pressure sensitivity in the triggers
-It has no internal chargeable battery or Bluetooth.
-Both the joysticks and the triggers have a -massivedeadzone of about 15-20% (meaning you have to move them beyond that threshold for it to register)
-The joysticks have extremely low accuracy. It was one thing when I was having a complete mess of a time trying to use the joystick to control the cursor, but even moving the character through 8 directions in a game was a mess. As an example, I could move the joystick up and about 35-40 degrees to the right, and the character would still be moving straight forward.
-The R3/L3 (Joystick) buttons are unbelievably loud; pressing them is like popping the tin lid on a jar.
-It is spectacularly frail and shoddy. It feels sturdy, but after about a week, like others have said, one of the joysticks has simply started to weaken and lose it's center. It now occasionally drifts off to the side without touching it.

The shipping was incredibly fast, which I was very pleased with, so you can understand how excited I was when I opened up the box. So I plugged it into my computer, set it up to play Call of Duty 4, and it worked great! Though after about five minutes of using it, the mouse started drifting all the way to the left. I tried using a different cable (I just so happened to have the same type of cable it came with), tried using a different USB port, and even tried using a different configuration program, but all of my attempts at trying to make it work were futile. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean you need to buy it. Invest you're money in a controller that's made by a well known company.Buy Game Controller for PC or PlayStation 3 (PS3) Now
I am not certain if this is simply because I am using it on the PC and there are no specific drivers available for it so it just uses the HID compliant driver, or if this controller really does not have Dual Shock capabilities, but Windows 7 does not believe it does. That is the only thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars. Luckily, I could care less if the controllers shake in my hands when I play a game, so it is great for what I need. I bought two of these and they are solid, high-quality, and come with a long USB cable, so I do not have to sit right on top of my PC when playing. I do not have a PS3, so I cannot review how they work with that, but with Windows 7, the are fine.Read Best Reviews of Game Controller for PC or PlayStation 3 (PS3) Here
This controller is excellent. When I first received it, yes I was amazed at the obvious knock off qualities but I didn't expect anything else when I purchased it. I bought this controller to play games on my PC, and works great on both my desktop and laptop PCs. Some games will recognize it right away, others (like Kingdoms of Amalur for example, which is very picky) need x360ce to get it to work because it wants the XBOX controller. You just have to get used to the XBOX button names is all (if you're used to the PS3 controller).I have had no problems with the sticks not responding correctly or anything like that, it really works like a charm. The only time it gets a little weird is when you have to map keyboard buttons, which will usually be a little weird anyways. In comparison, I also bought the SteelSeries 3GC Dual Vibration PC Gaming Controller for 19.99 from Gamestop because I had a giftcard, which was broken out of package, and has been nothing BUT an uncooperative pain! THIS controller however, is an extremely pleasant surprise and I will be buying another as soon as I can. So if you buy this and it doesn't work, just don't give up so easily every game is different and there are some emulators out there that may help. Personally, I would give it a higher rating if I could, I am that impressed with its abilities!
UPDATE: It is now December 4, 2012 and the controller has worked well until this date when it ceased to be recognized by any of my computers. I have emailed the manufacturer to see about redeeming the Lifetime Warranty and will update when I get word on how to resolve the issue I apologize to anyone who was influenced by my review to purchase this item, as it was apparently too optimistically hasty. :( I will leave my previous review to show the error of my ways..
LAST UPDATE: Now December 9, the company Gator Crunch (listed as the manufacturer "Lifetime warranty For first 30 days contact Amazon directly for return/exchange, after 30 days contact Gator Crunch directly for warranty service") informed me that this seller (GyroTek) is selling "knockoffs" of their product. (A knockoff of a knockoff?? I don't know, whatever) Anyway, Amazon is taking care of my issue and will be giving me a refund since Gator Crunch claims that this is not their product and the selling of this item by GyroTek is fraudulent. I'm still confused, but happy I guess because the item is completely dead now, and I can choose not to buy another which I won't. Next time it will be Logitech or something this one worked fine for awhile, but I definitely want one that will work for longer than (almost)a month and a half.
Want Game Controller for PC or PlayStation 3 (PS3) Discount?
Alright, so I bought one of these mainly to replace my Logitech Rumblepad that I've had for years. I love the layout of Playstation's controllers because of the d-pad not being one circular piece. Anyway onto the review of this controller. When I first opened it up, I noticed IMMEDIATELY that ALL the buttons, except for start and select, were extremely stiff. I figured hey its new...just gotta break it in. I played with this controller heavily all day and everything is still just as stiff. Not a huge gripe though as all buttons work.
The controller performed at an acceptable level for the games I was playing on PC (Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, some old emulators, etc). The controller feels very lightweight, almost like the original PS3 controllers. The usb cable it uses to plug into the PC and PS3 is about 6 feet long, so definitely a good length. There is no brand of any kind anywhere on this controller. Not even "Dualshock" like it shows in the picture. The only words I see is start, select, and the numbers above each light up square to tell you which controller you are (1, 2, 3, or 4). Overall for the PC, I would say performance is definitely acceptable, especially for how cheap this controller is. Also, I never had any vibration happen while playing on PC.
I decided to also try it out on my PS3. For great testing purposes, I decided to try out Call of Duty Black Ops. First I played with 9 bots on the easiest difficulty, then I played a match of zombies on kino der toten. Wow....this is where the controller is ugly. When you move the joysticks just a slight bit, nothing happens. You have to push about 20% in the direction you want to go before anything happens. Very easy to overdo it. Also noticed, while trying to sprint, that when the joystick is pushed all the way in any direction, you can't push down to click L3 or R3. This is a HUGE problem for games like Call of Duty where you sprint while moving. That, in combination with the dead zone on the joysticks, really makes it hard to like it for PS3. The controller DID vibrate while I was playing Call of Duty, so the function is in there somewhere, just don't expect strong vibrations like what Sony's controllers offer.
So, overall, I would NOT recommend buying this controller for PS3. Sure it does the job, but just barely. Maybe if you were playing a game like Littlebigplanet or an RPG or something like that then it wouldn't matter as much, but for precision, this controller is definitely lacking. Other than that, this thing is GREAT for what you pay for it. My total with shipping ended up being under $12 bucks! You just can't beat that. Oh yeah, one last thing. There is NO BATTERY in this controller, meaning that it ALWAYS has to be plugged in. I was hoping I could just sync it up with my PS3 and just charge it with my PC, but unfortunately that isn't the case.
