even though this battery is actually not to sony specs,i must say so far its held up very good. i purchased this battery nearly a month ago.i do need to note that when putting this battery in your controller, you will need to remove the cradle from the inside of your controller. this is because this battery is slightly longer than the old battery. after recieving this battery i put it into my dualshock3 and immediately put it on charge. the charge time on it seemed relatively fast. but the most important part here is the discharge right? well i am pleasantly impressed with it. two and a half days later,it was finally flashing red and ready for a recharge. and after a month of heavy use it still is taking along time to discharge and be ready for recharge. so all in all,i must say that i am very satisfied with this battery.if you need a new battery for your dualshock,dont replace the controller, replace the old battery battery with this one. i've not had the first problem with it overheating or anything else yet. (knock on wood!!) i hope this review will help the people who are on the fence over this. if you do a good bit of heavy,intense,marathon gaming,or just casual intermittent gaming,this is the replacement battery that your dualshock3 has been begging for!

The only reason i ordered a new battery is that the one in my controller had kinda busted, so i figured id try this first. My battery arrived on time. Already had my controller apart so that all i would have to do is install the battery and tape it in since you no longer will need the cradle. Dont worry though the battery fits in the cradle spot snug enough. It came half charged. Overall if you know how to open and put back together a ps3 controller, i'd say buy this one.

Not sure why this review thinks I am reviewing a game, but for the batteries, they were an easy swap with the stock PS3 controllers.

I highly recommend that you do a youtube search on how to do this so that you do not break the controller when pulling it apart or doing the reverse assembly.

Do this on a good work surface using high quality screw drivers.

It has been a few months since we swapped theses out, did a full charge before we started using them and they are working just as well as when the original controllers were new.

needed a new battery for my ps3 controller since it stopped holding a charge and purchased this one, battery holds a charge longer than the one that was currently in it but this one seems hard n a struggle to put in other than that i have no complaints

This battery is larger than the OEM battery, and also has a slightly different voltage. This has not caused any issue for me. I installed the battery, and it was a perfect fit after the plastic riser was removed from controller. The battery does not have any play inside; it fits well. I had to do an initial charge before using the controller, but it worked great after that. I can't speak on how long it holds a charge because I've only used that controller twice since changing the battery, but with 1800mAh, it should far outlast the OEM battery between charges.
