I had not purchased a EA golf game in a few years. Went ahead and picked this one up to try with the move. I've only tried it once as it was mostly frustrating. Using a SIXAXIS controller is how I play the game now. Overall, the swinging mechanic is well done and functions fairly well. And 9 times out of 10 when I hit a bad shot I know as soon as I've done it before I even see the on screen indicator; just like my real golf game.
Putting seems to be a bit harder than I feel it should. I'm always too fast and overswinging on the putting. Then when I try to slow it down, my accuracy goes in the toilet. I've worked at it quite a bit and it's not getting much better.
The challenges prior to each tour event can be fun. I prefer the "play all the par Xs on the course with a score of Y or lower" to the head to head challenges. The head to head challenges are quite difficult in the beginning when your created golfer is still rather weak and you're playing against pro golfers. Still a nice little touch.
The coins system is quite annoying honestly. Having DLC courses be involved in PGA events throughout the tour is frustrating. Having the option to substitute in another course is nice however. I'm not someone who usually purchases DLC in general and EA just seems to get worse and worse with their sports franchises each year. I get that you can grind to unlock these courses for free using the earned in game coins, but it would be so tedious to do so that by then you would probably have a maxed out created golfer and played so many rounds on the other courses that having those new courses wouldn't be incentive to keep playing the game. I've already almost grown tired of the game and I have around 30K coins.
Overall I do enjoy the game, but the amount of "buy this in addition to the game you already paid for!" has grown quite disturbing. Especially for things like courses, or the pins that are in the game. Pins that I rarely use since it's something else you have to spend coins on to recharge them as they have a limited number of uses.

Turned off by downloadable content shoved in my face.Poor use of PGA License. You license Jim Nantz and he hardly says anything!
I wish some other company would start making sim sports titles that are fun to play. EA Sports games have no fun factor anymore. How come the MLB the Show & NBA 2K series feel so authentic + fun and EA Sports games don't?

Fun game, but really easy. I play on tournament mode (the hardest setting) and routinely shoot -40 for a tournament. Putting is extremely easy. It's not uncommon at all to have rounds where you have 20-23 putts. I even had one round where I missed exactly one putt. Looking forward to '14, as it appears to be much harder, and has the new simulation mode. If you aren't very good at video game golf, or don't care about putting up unrealistic scores, this game is perfect for you.Read Best Reviews of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector's Edition Here

Dude, what are these people talking about, load times? What, is two minutes too long for you? The game is good, if your not into FPS games. The only prob I have is that right after you finish the 18th hole, you are disconnected from your headset.
