I was immediately attracted to this offer, as it contains four skins priced less than most who sell skins on a per piece deal. They grip your hand without adding any bulk. I was hoping to get a similar skin to the Psyclone brand, which are excellent skins, however that is not how it is. First off, these skins are not the same as pictured in the product advertisements. That isn't a very big deal however, the pictures lead you to believe that you're going to get side grips. Well you don't. Second, these skins don't grip as well as the Psyclone skins--these feel almost slick in your hands. Thirdly, they are not built as well. The Psyclone skins are thick and feel durable. These are very thin and I felt as if they were going to break as I tried to fit them over the controller.

In the end I took this skin off my controller and gave the others away. For the price they aren't bad however, there are better skins to be had--Unfortunately it's looking like the Psyclone brand is no longer being sold! :(

The skin that I received is not the skin pictured. The pictured skin is thick and has ridges on the sides. The skin i received is thin and has no ridges, just raised dots on top.

Upon receipt of NHL13 you will need to pull down the 37MB patch (1.01) for your brand-new game. You'll also want to download updates for a few tuner/roster settings. Having played 4 games online thus far, I'd say it's pretty consistent with what you'll experience if you've played the demo. Player speeds seem to be a little more noticeable between characters (in otherwords, if you've set your accel/speed higher, it should pay dividends compared to last year). I haven't received the boost pack code from amazon yet, but I think the terms/conditions say they've got ~2 days to e-mail that.

Graphics: A lot more polished compared to last year. The character renders are really solid and the overall presentation has fewer delays. Otherwise, a lot of the animations seem similar to previous years, though some physics tweaks have already brought about a few comical collisions.

Audio: The commentary has been updated, as has the audio track. It's nice to get new music, but note that you can pull your own tunes off your PS3 using the "EA Sports Media Hub", going into "Custom Music" and then pulling in your own songs (you've put music on your ps3.... right?). After a few days, I typically turn down the in-game commentary. I got really tired of hearing "a soft dump into the corner" during NHL12 every 10 minutes -this is in reference to a play where forwards send the puck ahead into the offensive zone aka "dumping the puck."

Gameplay: It feels pretty different with the addition of more flexible backwards skating, new physics on your skating mechanics and more "bumping" other characters. Already, I've heard people in-game complaining about "interference" from other players who skate into them without attempting a check -this will not result in a penalty but might be just enough to take you out of a critical play. Pokecheck is really powerful now; as a defenseman, this was something I really missed last year. I have a feeling the developers will release a patch that tunes down the pokecheck in the near future. At least it's not as bad as the hipcheck-gate issue at the beginning of NHL12.

Sony/EA need to stay on top of game releases. You can't buy any boosts or slots as of the time of this writing (I was trying to get another slot). You'd think Sony could go ahead and make that available the day before the game is released. A friend who is playing 13 says he'd give the game 3 stars, as it feels like the same old grind, year after year. There's some truth to this, but I really enjoy getting online to play with friends. You see something new every time. In that way, it's like real hockey, you never know if someone is going to go flying into the bench (probably not) but who knows? Maybe next time I play the goalies will get into a fight... that'd be great. If you liked NHL12, go ahead and get '13.

Gameplay is solid, and online play runs flawless. I've shared several great moments with friends online and we had some unforgettable times.

The menus and off-ice interaction is so sluggish and slow that its pretty hard to run a franchise mode or season... or do much of anything. I'm a sports gamer through and through, and a franchise mode player almost exclusively. I could not stomach more than a couple games in the mode because off-ice operations take way too long. Simulating the CPU games, just to get to my own game took a few minutes. Changing menu screens takes sometimes a minute. Too painful. By the time you get where you want to be, you have forgotten why you are there.

As a result, I have already stopped playing the game. It's a shame, because on gameplay alone I was tempted to write a 5 star review... but that wouldn't be far as the navigation experience does bring it down a peg (or two)

The game first came out back in sept and was amazing. As a college hockey player the game was legit and you had to actually play hockey in order to do well.... Then came the first tuner set. Wow.

Absolutely horrendous. I don't know what happened but it went from legit hockey. To forehand backhand glitches. Again. The online play as of April 2013 is the worst since the game came out. It's to the point where if 2k sports made an NHL. I'd return EAs to buy that one. NHL 12 was actually better than this. I can't explain how goalies make the most amazing saves known to man but can't stop a simple shot that's coming right at them. It's like they've never seen a forehand backhand deke in their life. Here's a thought. Stop doing interviews saying "the AI in 13 is the best we've ever had" when you start off being correct and then you release a tuner set and every computer player is worse than 5 year olds who have never skated in their lives. Make up your minds. I recommend not playing online and sticking to GM mode. At least those goalies are halfway decent and can stop a pass from the other end of the ice. EA I recommend you figure it out and either make all of the online modes superstar or have different divisions for different caliber of players so that beginners can play at their level and experienced players can enjoy the game without wanting to break the disk and give up on all EA sports game forever.

I will admit.... the first half hour of playing it was frustrating. But after an hour I was bowling consistently and getting scores similar to what I do in real life. In real bowling you don't actually "throw" the ball. you let the weight of the ball do the work as you roll. It's a very similar feel here. You have to play for a while before you figure out the "feel" for spin. once you do, this game is a BLAST. It's actually challenging and semi realistic. It takes into consideration release point for most of the speed, not the fact you can whip a controller 100mph. The characters are a little annoying (sometimes borderline racist) but comical for the most part (and you can skip the clips when your character talks so dont have to listen if you dont want to. The only real complaint I have other than the semi annoying characters is the fact there is no instruction or training modes. However there are little hints that appear on the sides of the screen to help. Play free play for a few hours (making sure you pay attention to the hints on the sides of the screen) and you'll have it down. I also like how there are a lot of characters to choose from (each with their own strengths) and a lot of different balls to pick from depending on if you want a lot of spin or not. Even different "oil patterns" on the lanes that effect the movement. This really is a well put together game and the physics are much more accurate than people give credit for. Don't give a game 1 star, just because you can't pick it up and be instantly good at it. If that what you want, buy a Wii. If you want it to be EXACTLY like real bowling, put a bowling alley in your house. This is not a 1 star game BY FAR. I can understand 3 or 4 for certain reasons. Don't rate a game 1 star just because you're terrible at it.

I first purchased Brunswick Pro Bowling for PS3. It was horrible, as my 1-star review here on Amazon describes. Being a huge bowling fan, I still wanted to find a good bowling game. I then purchased this game and was given the gaming experience that I originally sought. Plus, this game works wonderfully on a 3D TV, though you certainly don't have to have such a TV for the game to work. It's just like real bowling, except perhaps a little more creative. Unlike Brunswick Pro Bowling, this game does allow you to use two separate Move controllers for two different players. You aren't forced to pass-and-play if you don't want to do so. So if you're wanting a good bowling game and are trying to decide between this one and Brunswick Pro Bowling, you'll definitely prefer this one. It's not even a close call. The move control works better than the 6 axis controller for this game because you are turning your wrist for spin. With the 6 axis/dual shock control you have to press L2 or R2 while bowling for spin. This causes hand fatigue and I don't think the system is as responsive as the move. The game looks and plays great in 3d but I play it in 2d to conserve power. I have my eye camera at the base of my television and finish about a foot away with no obstructions. The move system works very well I think. It's challenging and realistic. This is without a doubt my favorite move game.

If you try to advance through the game you'll have a very difficult time getting through the Hiro challenge. I got stuck there. If anyone has won that challenge I would be interested in what lies on the other side. Now I just take my time and keep playing one on ones with the first two challenge unlocks (Barry & Tiffany). I don't care for playing Beatrice, Spider or Carl and Hiro is near impossible to beat.

One weird thing I should mention is in real life I'm a righty but I bowl as a lefty in this video game because it's easier for my wrist to reverse spin. When I get warmed up and zoned I can score from 160-200 but usually not much higher. It's possible the game works better in 3d because my highest games came that way (280, 256) but that might just be coincidence . The weaker power bowlers like Tiffany require a more deliberate, controlled delivery and my two highest scoring games came bowling her so power doesn't necessarily equate to high scores.

At 20 bucks and down it's an excellent deal. The game has a smart efficient design feel to it (great graphics, 3d, realistic physics, avatars with personalities). If you take the game too seriously it could easily become frustrating. It's not easy and you will lose alot on the harder levels. If you have the patience to deal and/or take a casual approach you should find many hours of enjoyment. I bowl 3-4 games every evening and it's the only move game I play. In fact this and MLB The Show 2011 are the only video games I play period.

I bought this game a few days ago since Sports Champions does not have bowling. If you are expecting Wii Bowling than the reviewers are right it is nothing like it. I find this game to be a lot more accurate with your arm motion. You actually have to have some skill to play this game and practice to get better. The characters are kinda goofy, but fun. My wife played with the character "Milan" who seems to be the "Paris Hilton" of the game.

The one thing that bothers me is I am left handed and it seems the spin only reacts as if you are right handed. Other than that our family continues to enjoy this game. I would recommend it to others.

If you can remember all those long years ago when Ten Pin Alley came out for the PSX then you'll remember that games was a lot of fun with goofy characters and great physics. This game has great game play and can be played with out the move controller. I haven't experienced the game yet with the move controller but I will update the review as so as I do. I did mark the overall rating down one star because the games control seems a little bit more complex after they added the move feature to it. It is still is a load of fun to play and the characters are great there's one for everybody. If you have ever been in a bowling league or even just in a center chances are you have run into one of these characters. I could swear I heard some one ordering a Budwieser in the background. This game can't be compared to Brunswick Pro Bowling as it has more simulation aspects to it then you have here but graphically it is superior to BPB in everyway. HVB has a great selection of balls and a couple of different outfits to be worn but that is about it as far as extra's for your bowler go. You will have a great time with family and friends with this game. So what are you waiting for go hit the lanes!

Call of Duty 3 is a really fun game with extremely realistic battle sequences. The downfall is that you can only play in single player mode unless you want to do/are set up for online play.

In single player mode, you're a first person shooter soldier on the frontline in WWII France. You arrive in camp, learn how to maneuver around, shoot your weapon & throw grenades (smoke and explosive). Then you're immediately strewn into various battle.

You start out as private Nichols (American) in the first chapter, but depending on which chapter you're in, you might also find yourself playing as Doyle (British), Cole (Canadian) or Boharter (Polish).

You fight you way through intense battle chapters (there are 14 chapters). You're mostly shooting whichever weapon you happen to have picked up (mostly from dead soldiers on the ground) along your objective route (a barrage of automatics and rifles). Your objectives that guide you along are updated regularly as you complete each task throughout each chapter. And some of those tasks are brutal.

No matter which chapter you're in you are mostly using your primary weapon (a rifle or machine gun), but you'll also need to engage in some exhilarating hand to hand combat, you'll need to guide tanks, fire mortars, row boats, drive jeeps, attach and arm explosives to enemy weapons, disarm booby traps and man other stationary weapons.

To me, all of the chapters are equally difficult. So if you figure out how to unlock them all like we did, there's no reason to play them chronologically (perhaps at least for consistency chapters 1 & 14 should be played respectively first and last).

So all in all Call of Duty 3 is intensely fun, but like I said earlier, the biggest drawback to this awesome game is that multiplayer mode is only available with online play. I'm sure that online play is spectacular for advanced players, but my kids and I 1) are not advanced, and 2) we'd rather just play amongst ourselves for now. I'm no software expert, but if multiplayer capability works online, some genius should have figured out that multiplayer would be equally fun with friends/family at the same console. Hence, that is the only reason why I've deducted a star from the overall rating.

Call of Duty 3 is the classic combat game of World War II. If you've seen Saving Private Ryan, you know what you're in for. Head-throbbing noise and death all around you.

The game goes for instant immersion. You're barely off on your first trip when shells are landing, guns are hammering in your ears and there is complete chaos. You have to be careful not to hit a friendly while you're blasting away at the bad guys. You can barely see what you're doing. Your friends drag you along when you're hurt, and the rain and smoke can blind you.

Call of Duty 3 does a great job of giving you a WWII environment with character. You're in destroyed homes with cans on the shelves and holes blown into bedroom walls. You can see the smoke drifting across the main street, the plunks of rain as it falls through the boards. Bodies collapse realistically. The PS3's high def graphics really shine here.

The controller also adds to the sense of immersion. When you want to whap someone in the head with your gun, you just give the controller a sharp twist. You also use the controller for other steering-related tasks as well.

How about the sound? Playing the Call of Duty series always gives me a headache after a while :) But that's the point war wasn't fun. It's not about cool pop soundtracks while you blow away the enemies. It's about listening carefully for footsteps in the silence, and then having your eardrums shatter when the barrage rains down on you.

Gameplay is well done with multi-pathed missions that let you choose your objective, within the current mission's parameters. You can't just decide to turn around and head for Bermuda :). Your leaders tell you what your group needs to do but then it's up to you how to get it done.

Even if you're an uber-soldier and whip through the main gameplay in a short period of time, there is still the online side, which can keep you going for *months*. The in-game play is only training for the real challenge, live human opponents. Of course, if you don't like online gameplay, there is certainly a wealth of gameplay to replay for quite a while before you start to get bored.

Highly recommended!

Yup! This game is so much fun it glued me to my seat! I like the story line, the first person shooting, audio effects, the choice of guns, and the graphics. My favorite WWII gun is the Thompson, and boy, combined with the Springfield or the Garand, one can mix up on close combat or pure sniping. Just remember you have grenades too. Other tools include bazookas, tanks, jeeps, machine guns, etc. You can feel like Audie Murphy in his movie-biography To Hell and Back. The graphics is totally awesome. I used Playstation 3 on Sony LCD TV, and I would suggest to turn up your speakers (gaming or home theater). I stayed away from first person shooting games when I got headaches ages ago with JB 007 N64 after 15 20 minutes of gaming. Since then, I only tried it last year with Socom Fireteam Bravo on the PSP. I was curious how the COD3 graphics on the PS3 will affect me, and to my surprise, it allowed me to physically (and mentally) play it continuously until the end.

The only thing I would like to see on a COD is a score of how many kills, statistics, etc. to allow you to get medals, ranks, etc. and progress through the game. I also don't think that the game is 1080p. My TV shows 720p for COD whereas it shows 1080p when I put NBA07.

Overall, my first COD experience was great and lots of fun!

Finally, an awesome Playstation 3 game! Of course, you can probably find the same thing on other consoles, but this version is really good. The controls work great, the graphics are simply a delight to watch, and finding the best strategies to complete missions is always a lot of fun and contains a lot of replay value. If you happen to be one of the lucky people who owns a Playstation 3, this is the game you need to own to help take your mind off the fact you paid 500+ dollars for a video game console.

Call of Duty 3 has some amazing visuals for being one of the first released games on the PS3. Each blade of grass blows individually in the wind...The gameplay is pretty much what you expect, different weapons to use, first person shooter with reconnaissance missions galore. This game does take advantage of the new motion sensing controller. You can steer your controller like a steering wheel to control a jeep, you can hit people with the butt of your gun with a quick flip of the wrist. All in all I would highly recommend this game.

I was undecided whether to buy it or not, because generic peripherals are bad. Actually this dongles seems and feels very cheap BUT they work, and work great; certainly as good as the original one.

Assassin's Creed 2 restored my faith in open world games. I've played every one of the AC games and each title has it's own strengths and weaknesses. Out of the entire lineup, Assassin's Creed III has some of the best characters and delivers one of the best stories in the series but not enough thought was put into so many important areas of gameplay that Assassin's Creed III turns into a flawed disappointment.

**THE GOOD**

-The characters are memorable. Here's the thing: Connor isn't Ezio, nor should he be. If you're looking for a wild, charismatic guy who flirts with ladies and does whatever he wants, then Connor is the exact opposite of that. In fact, I'd say Connor's personality is very true to his culture. If he acted like Ezio as a young boy, I'd imagine his people would have thought something was seriously wrong with Connor. His quiet and humble nature suits him well. The side characters have their moments as well. The interactions between Charles Lee and Thomas Hickey, as well and Haytham and Connor are very fun and keep the player in guessing what happens next. The characters on your Homestead are also very funny and a delight to help out from time to time.

-The story is also engaging. Seeing what you read as a kid during history class in elementary school brought to life and getting to play in that environment is amazing! Being a part of the Boston Massacre and The Battle of Bunker Hill seriously gave me a special feeling inside. I'm not a history buff or anything, but the amount of research involved with both story and characters is done exceptionally well. For non-Americans, I've noticed a large disconnect with the events that happen in the game. A few of my European friends that played the game have stated this and found the story pretty dull. So a person not familiar with early American history may find the story a bit boring.

-The naval battles are so much fun that it should have been the entire game. Just sayin'.

-Wolfpack mode is perfect for those that don't like the competitive modes in multiplayer. It's pure co-op and it can even be completed on a solo run if you have no one to play with. The player can earn all the multiplayer trophies/achievements strictly playing that mode if they really wanted to. I think it's a wonderful addition to the online portion.

-The Desmond stuff isn't bad this time around and he finally feels like an assassin for once.

**THE BAD**

-Gameplay is a mess. It's not bad, but it could have been much better. The free-running is the same as it always has been, but Ubisoft has never fixed the issue of running up things you never wanted to climb in the first place. This becomes a hair-pulling experience when it accidentally happens during chase portions of the game. Another problem is sometimes when you walk casually past some Red Coats, they become aware of your presence and will come after you for no reason! It doesn't matter if incognito is your status, sometimes they will go to full alert and chase you for no reason. Sometimes I'll be chased by Red Coats and will run by Blue Coats. Guess what? They start chasing me too! Why?! They're two opposing forces and they should be fighting each other, not acting like buddies and chasing me! Lastly, the guns feel like it takes a lifetime to reload during fights. I know it's more realistic that way, but when you really need to use something other than your fists in a fight, you'll most likely choose other options before picking gun due to the reload speed.

-Tutorials aren't really helpful. The fighting could have used more of an explanation and the gameplay involving the Assassins you recruit by liberating areas of NY and Boston could have been more thorough. The mechanics will be familiar to people that played Brotherhood and Revelations, but individuals that haven't picked up the game since AC2 may feel a bit lost.

-Fight mechanics should have stayed the same. The Batman games by Rocksteady are amazing when it comes to fight mechanics and it's understandable why Ubisoft have stated that the Arkham games were a big inspiration for the overhaul. Honestly, it's not good in AC3. I'm not even sure why the slowdown animation during the failed parry attack exists, because even if Connor doesn't press anything during the animation, he pushes the enemy back automatically so you're able to try your attack again. If your looking for cool Arkham style fight mechanics, go with the game Sleeping Dogs. Otherwise, this just feels dumbed down and makes me miss the fantastic fluid fights I had in the past AC games.

-Not enough climbing points in the frontier. Sometimes I'd want to perform a hanging attack using my rope dart, but unfortunately, I would rarely find a climbable tree near an enemy for me to do this with. Like, there are soooo many trees. Some of them are like a puzzle to find the exact beginning climbing point. Then there are other trees that are just there to take up space for design reasons and aren't climbable. It becomes annoying, especially when you're looking for a way to get the upper hand on taking down an animal or enemy from the above position. Finding crevasses to climb in the mountains can become equally frustrating for the same reasons.

-The bugs cripple the experience. Even with all the flaws I've listed, I still would have been able to recommend this game to fans of the franchise. However, there are too many random bugs that make me wonder if Ubisoft were too concerned about making the Fall quarter release date that the Assassin's Creed series is known for, that they also managed to forfeit the quality of their product. I've seen so many random bugs and glitches. I can't tell you how many times I had to restart my checkpoint just to fix some of the issues. Sometimes even markers on the map don't show up like they should, so it makes finding objectives harder. I'm sure over time Ubisoft will patch a lot of the issues that exist in the game, but until that day comes, I'd gladly recommend Brotherhood and Revelations over AC3.

**OVERALL**

Assassin's Creed III isn't a bad game by design. It's the glitches and bugs that make it a bad game. It also feels like a poor effort was put into some of the gameplay elements. Even though the influences from Batman: Arkham Asylum/City to Red Dead Redemption turnout to be lackluster, the originality found in the naval battles is something completely new and maybe should be looked at in future releases of the franchise. They really have something special going on there. I thought this would be my Game of the Year for 2012. Even after playing a great game as Borderlands 2, I still believed AC3 would take my top spot. Yeah...Assassin's Creed III doesn't even come close to my Top 5 this year. AC3 is an okay game, but it feels like a disappointment over what the past titles did as far as gameplay and it should have been much better.

AC3 had a huge amount of potential, a great story, and tragic flaws that made it more irritating to play than fun.

After Ubisoft milked Assassin's Creed 2 into 3 games, I said to myself that I'm not going to pay for this game. As luck would have it, I was able to check this title out at my local library... boy am I glad that's the case. I can't believe people actually had to pay $60 for this half baked game! It REALLY could have used several more months of development to iron out some of the game breaking bugs.

Pros:

1. Great story.

There's no way around it, this franchise has some of the best stories ever made for the gaming world. Although it's easy to see that there was never a mysterious Native American running around and influencing every major event during the period, the story of Connor is quite entertaining and interesting.

2. Excellent characters.

The voice acting for all the characters was very well done. I enjoy that they actually developed the Desmond story a little bit and let you run around quite a bit in the current time as Desmond.

3. Huge world.

There is a lot to explore and a lot to do in the world of AC3 and it looks amazing when the choppy frame rate isn't nauseating you.

4. Lots of side quests.

In AC3, you won't run out of things to do. There's always a side quest and they are well varied. You can trade, do ship missions, save citizents, go hunting, etc.

5. Naval missions are very fun.

The new addition of naval missions was well played and well executed. I enjoyed this facet of AC3 almost more than I enjoyed the actual game.

6. Frequent autosaves.

When the game freezes because of a bug and you have to restart your system, it at least remembers where you left off if you were in the middle of a mission.

Cons:

1. Frequently poor frame rates.

A lot of other reviewers said that this issue wasn't so bad for them. For me, it was a different story. The game would get choppy quite frequently and I often had to walk away for a few minutes because it made me dizzy. I never get any kind of motion sickness from visual stimulation, so this is a first for me when it comes to gaming. Maybe Ubisoft bit off more than the hardware can chew... but as experienced developers, they should be well acquainted with hardware limitations.

2. Riddled with bugs.

There is no doubt about it, even after patches, that this game has a ridiculous amount of bugs. If I didn't see this game on the shelves and played it, I would be convinced that it was a beta. I've had it randomly freeze on me about a dozen times, most often while on a mission. A few times, I tried to mount a horse next to a bush and got stuck inside the bush. Once, I fell through the ground and died. Needless to say, Ubisoft should not have released this game with this amount of bugs. I understand that there are a lot of challenges to overcome when making a game of this size... but that's why the consumer pays $60. No one is asking for a perfect bug-free game, but come on! This is just down right shameful.

3. Combat system has been ruined.

Previous AC games had a really good combat system, this one is irritating button mashing. Maybe I just haven't figured out how it works yet, but what I do know is that as long as you're holding circle you are invincible to everything but projectiles. Understandably, they have to make a lot of changes in a game to keep each new release fresh and innovative, but in this case they broke what didn't need fixing. I read an interview with one of the lead developers in a popular gaming magazine several months ago that they were re-thinking the combat system for AC3 to make it more fluid... I was genuinely excited to see all the cool combos, but all I got was a clunky button mashing experience that left a lot to be desired.

4. Menus are tragic...

The menus are confusing and difficult to navigate. It's often frustrating to figure out how to do something because there's no explanation as there was in previous AC games. Maybe I missed something...

5. Slow pace in the beginning.

The first several hours of the game are very slow paced and made me lose interest. There was too much tutorial that didn't teach you anything, left you confused, and didn't add much to the story.

6. Still running up random walls.

This has been a problem in previous games and there's been a lot of complaining about it, it's really irritating. I need not say more.

In all, this could have been a great game if it had more time in development. If Ubisoft wasn't so bent on milking us for our annual 60 bucks, I would have gladly paid for this game and would be eager to do so with the next iteration. Sadly, I will not pay for the next one either because it will also be a half done mess. Quite frankly, I don't think I'll even play the next one. I've been a fan of this series since the beginning, and they've finally lost me for good. I was disappointed by Revelations because they didn't really reveal or add a whole lot, and I'm disappointed with this one because it was just an expensive and messy beta (for those who bought it). I'm sure Ubisoft will go ahead and milk Connor until he's as dried up a skeleton as Altair was and only the quality of the franchise will suffer with everyone that forks over their cash...

First, I have not completed the game yet. I'm about halfway through. I am both incredibly pleased and impressed with parts of the game and mildly annoyed at others.

Here's the nerdy history guy's take: If you like history -particularly the American Revolution -you have never had a chance to experience such an accurate and detailed deception of life in colonial America. As someone who has been obsessed with everything related to the American Revolution, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Granted, you don't seem to actually participate that much in the actual events of the revolution, but you still get to experience the environment, architecture, etc. And you get to meet some influential Americans from the time. And take part in a couple battles (at least). The historical accuracy is both surprisingly great and stupidly wrong. Tiny details, like the humid horrid battle of Monongahela during the French and Indian War are surprisingly spot on -even down to steaming earth and soldiers grumbling about the weather. The flags in all the battles are represented accurately, as best I can tell. This is historically spot on -unlike the ridiculously inaccurate (but entertaining) movie The Patriot. However, the depiction of British and Colonial soldiers is not right at all. British dragoons lead foot soldiers on foot patrols with bright red uniforms? (Dragoons are mounted cavalry troops and wore bright green and white uniforms) British Highland troops did fight and wear kilts, but they fought in independent groups, not generally interspersed among random other troops. Also, every "musket" I have seen so far appears to be a Pennsylvania or Kentucky Long-Rifle. This is totally inaccurate. The Brown Bess was the primary musket used on both sides. Rifles played a very small (though important) part of the war.

So maybe that is nit-picking, but I promise that I'm actually omitting many of my other thoughts on this topic. All in all, for a popular mainstream game, this is a super valuable change to go beyond Johnny Tremain and The Patriot and get a more immersive feel for the tension and style of the time. (Just ignore all the Templar/Assassin mumbo-jumbo)

Also, for those of you on here complaining about the flintlock pistol being slow, its actually about twice as fast in the game as the best re-loaders of the time could achieve. Not too mention it never jams, misfires, blinds you, burns your hand, explodes, and always works, even if you fire it right after swimming around in the ocean. I know games take liberties, and I think this one is reasonable for the sake of game play. Still, all you whiners need to understand that tactics change. A pistol was typical only fired once in a battle with wicked inaccuracy. Even musket volleys in a full battle would generally only last a dozen rounds of so (if that). These battles were still won largely in hand-to-hand combat. The same goes for people complaining about the game becoming more Warrior's Creed than Assassin's Creed. I get it -it's called what it is for a reason -but you have to understand that this was kind of like the wild west only less developed. Somebody could commit a crime in Virginia, move to Connecticut, and no one would be any wiser. Assassinations out in the open was much more common than the clandestine periods depicted in the earlier games.

However, I am not just a historian, I also enjoy playing historical games. I've been a fan of the series and I think this game both delivered tremendously in certain respects, but also made for some really horrendously boring and tedious game play choices. The game also suffers from a small amount of gliches. I hope that they do continue to expand this series a little longer. While I'd love to see the war of 1812, I suspect they will move to France for their revolution. While I enjoy the American Revolution the most, I think the French Revolution might be slightly more conducive to the assassination nature and climb-on-roof tops style of the games that many fans have come to expect.

WARNING: This review is being handled differently from my previous reviews in that there will not be an overall score and I won't be going into many of the overall game play and story. This will mostly just be a list of issues I've found with this game. This will probably piss some people off but this is based on my experience with the game. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from playing this game but if you know any of the things that I talk about in this note tend to piss you off, you might want to reconsider this game.

So yeah, Assassin's Creed 3 is the game I have been looking forward to all year long. The trailers have been amazing; the setting of the American Revolution is rather original for a game like this, an interesting new character to the Assassin's Creed series, and a time in history most Americans should be familiar with. This game had so much potential. Also it's been getting near perfect scores from several game review magazines and sites. I have to ask, what game have they been playing? Because the AC3 I've been playing is not a perfect scoring or high scoring game. I was so sure this was going to be game of the year material for me and it makes me so sad that I cannot even recommend it for a top 5 slot for games of the year. For me, this game is just not very fun most of the time. It's been mostly frustrating and stress inducing. That's not why people play video games and if that's why you play games then maybe you're a masochist. Very rarely have I had fun with this game. There is a lot to it, I'll give it that. It is a very big game and it is impressive in that aspect and it is a very beautiful game. Something like it hasn't been quite done before. Sadly, that comes with a price.

The graphics in this game, while beautiful, run into a lot of frame rate and slow down issues. There are times I've noticed in the cities where things just don't move so smoothly. You see slow down here and there in these massive areas. Not always but sometimes. Glitches are another issue. Granted, I've run into glitches in all the AC games (AC had some of the worst) but AC3 had some game stoppers. One involved me just running along and then I suddenly just fell through the ground and died. Another I hid in a pile of hay and got stuck in it, forcing me to restart the area I was in. More minor glitches include odd clipping, animals getting stuck in trees, and other silly things that you run into in open world games. Only a few of these glitches really hurt the game play but they were on the rare side. I can't help but feel that this game is just pushing the PS3 to its limits but the minor visual errors are minor compared to other problems in the game. UPDATE: A friend of mine experienced a glitch that prevented him from beating the game because a cutscene would not start.

Probably the biggest issue in the game is the new combat system. Wow! It sucks! It is a huge step back from the combat system from Assassin's Creed 2. The first thing I noticed when I got into a big fight was the camera: It doesn't follow your character. It just doesn't. You have to adjust it manually. When you got so much shit going on around you, you don't have time to adjust the damn camera. Something always seems to get in the of the camera too, be it a tree, wall, part of a building, ect. The combat itself feels less skill based. Every now and then, Conner will pull off some of the awesome finishing moves we saw in the trailers but I have no idea how I did them. I still have no idea how to use someone as a human shield and it is an almost mandatory move to know if you want to survive firing lines. The majority of the time you are hacking at the enemy's defenses and countering them whenever prompted. It becomes a button masher. A lot of times I would press triangle to try and counter because I am so used to the combat from Arkham City but that's my fault. There is also no real lock on method in this game. It seems to want to try lock on automatically in combat but it does a poor job. You end up missing your target or accidentally running up a wall or something. It's very frustrating and takes awhile to get used to especially if you are familiar with the combat system from the previous games. It took me about 10 hours of playing the game to get a hang of combat. There is no place you can go to practice like in AC2. You pretty much just have to go pick your own fights with British patrols and learn the hard way. Shooting and firearms have been added to the game which makes sense but the shooting mechanic is trick to get a hang of but once you do, it's pretty handy even though you have to deal with the slow reloads of the time.

The story is another issue and the one I have the most mixed feels about. I won't go into details or spoilers or anything but I will talk about the pacing. The first 5 hours of the game is very slow paced but does have a good pay off with quite the bombshell of a plot twist. Then it bounces around from being fast paced, to slow paced, and just jerks around a bit too much for my liking. Other people don't seem as bothered by it as much as me. It does have some good moments like some epic battlefield scenes and the naval battle missions that, thankfully, actually live up to the hype! You could make an entire game based around the naval missions and naval combat system. It's fun. But there are only three mandatory missions where you control a ship on the seas. There are side missions for this in addition the many, many, many diverse side missions you can find though out the game. There is over 70 hours of content in this game, so it's not short. You do get your money's worth in terms of content with this game. I usually had more fun just running around doing all these side missions than the actual main missions.

The next major issue I felt that goes along with the problem of the story's pace is that the first 7 hours feels like a very long and slow tutorial that spans out over this time. If you're a veteran of the series, some of this stuff isn't new to you but things like learn out to use the shooting mechanic could have been handled in a better way. You learn how to actually shoot your weapon in combat simple enough but right after that you have to shoot these powder kegs to blow open a door. Okay, simple enough. At this point you think pressing the triangle button will let you shoot at anything and L1 is what you use to manually aim. There is a wagon with these BIG barrels on it and the game just told you to shoot at the barrels so naturally you aim at try to shoot them but nothing happens. I sat there for like 5 minutes pressing every button on the controller trying to figure out why the shooting button just no longer works. Then I notice that if I drag the little aiming cursor over these small barrels below the big barrels, the small ones light up and I can actually shoot them. It doesn't tell you to shoot the little barrels that light up. WHY NOT?! I know for a fact I am not the only one who has had this problem! It's turn into a little meme on the internet, I think. The game has several moments of poor conveyance. It introduces new mechanics poorly such at the Battle of Lexington and Concord where you have to run back and forth between ranks and order Colonists to fire on the British. This is a really cool mission but when it starts they don't tell you how to give orders and it took me a few minutes to figure this out and ended up failing the mission a couple times. You have to stand in little circles that appear in order to give the commands. They could have made that much clearer. A lot of things could have been made clearer on how they work and this goes back to the combat system. You can't just equip whatever weapons you want when you want. You have to go to a general store (the place you most likely bought your weapons and equipment) and you can only equip things there. These general stores are not common you will only find two or three in the two main cities of the game, New York and Boston. If you know how to equip weapons in a different way, please let me know!

Every mission has sub-objectives to complete each synchronization and I HATE THESE THINGS! They are completely optional but if you're looking to complete this game 100%, you're going to have a bad time. Some of these are nearly impossible and half the time I end up failing them before I even know what they are because they only flash on the screen for a brief moment on the corner of the screen. They make missions unnecessarily difficult. If you want that kind of challenge, go for it. There is one where the game expects you to chase someone through a crowd without pushing anyone. Ha! Good luck with that. Speaking of chasing missions, they make for some of the MOST frustrating missions, especially this one near the end of the game. All of this stuff together ultimately leads to this game being very frustrating and just not as fun as it should be. There is nothing wrong with a challenging game but that challenge should be fair and not based on issues with the overall game play.

Now like I said this is all based on my game play experiences. Maybe you have or will have better experiences but for me, ultimately this game is a big letdown. Assassin's Creed 2 was just so much better in just about every way and was way more fun to play. If you are not familiar with Assassin's Creed, AC3 is not game to start with. Now I can't stress this enough, this is all my opinion. Maybe I just suck at the game and there is something I just completely missed and I am playing it wrong. Don't let this review completely steer you away from the game as it is something that should be experienced to a degree. This game is an impressive technical achievement in many ways and it is a HUGE game. It's just too frustrating and ultimately unenjoyable to me overall which is very disappointing as I was really looking forward to this game.

If you're a veteran of the series, this game feels off.

Many of the gameplay mechanics were changed from the earlier games. Some good (free run is automatic), some unusual (block using Circle button), and some beyond frustrating (rotate the camera to control your direction). If you rotate the camera to get a better view of the upcoming obstacles, Connor will cheerfully free run into a wall or off a cliff.

Since AC3 was in development prior/during the AC2 games, it's missing all those great little improvements that were added in AC2 Revelations (automatically walk with NPCs, bomb crafting, etc).

While it's cool that the AC3 voice actors are native speakers of the various languages, it doesn't mean they can actually act. Except Haythem, he could read the phone book and I'd be happy.

The main story line is forgettable at best. Connor may have helped win a few key battles, but it's hard to tell how much impact riding a horse back and forth between 3 circles had on the actual outcome. If you turn the camera to watch the actual battle, your horse runs into rocks/trees and the guys depending on you to reach their little circle just stand there patiently getting shot while you try to maneuver around the impenetrable bushes of the Boston wilderness.

The side quests are designed to turn you into a tourist, literally walking to designated spots just to get an animus journal entry. The architecture of the time didn't have towering cathedrals or crumbling ruins, so this game doesn't have the same visual impact as the earlier ones. It also means many of the free run paths are ground based, unless you're in the forest.

Thank god for the naval missions. These side quests have the best characters and story arcs of the entire game. I often find myself grinding through the main story just to unlock the next set of Privateer Contracts or pirate treasure hunts.

If you can, wait for the price drop. There's some cool moments but this is hardly a must have game.

Tales of Xillia is the first title in the Tales game in the series to feature a player select option to see the game through Jude Mathis's point of view or Milla Maxwell's. This game's camera angle is very similar to the camera used in Final Fantasy XIII because it wanted to deliver a more cinematic view during gameplay. The animation by far is the most impressive in the series' history and the game has no game breaking glitches as should be expected by now. The combat when doing single character battling is very much the same to Vesperia, but much smother and the Skill points make a return. Similar to Final Fantasy X's leveling grid is an arts grid for increasing character status to a peek and shops have VIP roles to unlock to buy better weapons and armour. Milla Maxwell is by far the most powerful Tales character ever introduced and is very pretty to add, but she doesn't know much about being a regular human girl. Jude Mathis is a doctor and an expert in healing arts, but his world get a bit rocky shortly after the opening cutscene clears and Milla is introduced. The openning cutscene is Progress by Ayumi Hamasaki and this is where the review gets a little less lengthy so bare with me.

The trophies are really fun and challenging, but not to hard to obtain if you are persistent and some sub-events are going to say to be continued. Also note that some of the sub-events are timed like locating the pendant and such...because if not you'll get to far and not be able to continue it. I haven't gotten very far, but I figured the game should get a decent review anyways...also no spoilers needed so if you got questions ask away. ^_^

I've been enjoying this game. At times it drags on, and because I'm limited in Japanese, I get confused sometimes but hopefully that will change the more I play it. Soon I'll be able to do a second playthrough and hopefully understand more about what's going on in the story.

Ever since I first played Tales of Destiny way back in 1999 I have been in love with the Tales franchise. While not as immediately recognizable in the mainstream gaming community as the Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest/Warrior RPG juggernauts, the "Tales of" series of games have always had a loyal fan base due to the great stories and combat that is the hallmark of the games. The question of whether or not to purchase the latest game in the franchise was a no-brainer for me, and I can say with 100% certainty that I am so happy that I indulged myself.

Controls, Music, & Animation

Every Tales game is painstaking in its delivery of beautiful graphics and music, and Tales of Xillia (henceforth referred to as "ToX") continues in that tradition. Simply put, this game is gorgeous and takes every advantage of the PS3 hardware to simply amaze me. The world of Xillia is bright, colorful, and varied. Environments are dynamic; each exploration area is divided by little "breaks"; while this may seem annoying, the lack of lag when going through a doorway into the next room is practically non-existent. The screen flashes black for one moment and then you are free to control your character.

In addition to the beautiful backgrounds, the characters are 3D mirrors of their anime-inspired sprites used in the cut scenes. While you do notice the difference between the 2D drawing of Milla (the female protagonist) and her 3D avatar, the seamless transition negates any of the very minor aesthetic details. Finally, each character in the game is unique, sporting their own look, and enemies are just as varied and detailed as the "good guys".

Musically speaking, Tales of Xillia boasts an amazing orchestral arrangement with songs to suit every zone in the game. It is truly beautiful and lends itself well to the atmosphere of the story. When you are in an ominous, dark dungeon the music is creepy, with violins and woodwinds playing higher and slightly off-key, creating the ambiance of a thriller movie. Sound effects cover every aspect of movement, helping to bring the world of Xillia to life. If your character is moving through shallow water, swishing noises will occur with each step. The crackle of fire whispers through a zone, subtlety lighting a path. Birds chirp. When the graphics and sound come together, you will find yourself immersed in a world of magic, mysteries, and more than a few baddies to kill.

The controls in ToX are spot-on. Combat is real-time, so players need to be aware of their characters and the baddies on the screen. At the beginning of the game you can alter whether you want harder enemies, a longer input time for combos, and your Xand Y-axis movement [meaning whether pressing upward with the control stick will move the camera up (normal) or down (inverted)]. I chose the hardest setting and kept the input time as "Normal". In the beginning enemies attack slower, which is good as it gives you time to acquaint yourself with the mechanics of combat. While pressing the "X" button will make your character charge forward and attack a target, you also have different magic/elemental-based attacks that can be access from the menu (the "▲" button) which vary based upon who you chose as your protagonist to control. Thus, combat sometimes needs a good strategy; just jumping in and whacking enemies with your weapon does not always work. In this way ToX enhances the gameplay by adding a level of strategy. Once you form a party, coming up with a plan of attack becomes critical; you will be able to combine attacks and setup AI strategies to maximize your combat proficiency (your cohorts will be controlled by AI; from the party menu you can adjust their combat focus, for instance: should that character conserve TP (mana) or go all out and cast the most powerful spells each battle? Do you want a character to heal exclusively or to heal AND attack?)..

Finally, in regard to the map and character control, Xillia has everything nailed. The camera rests comfortably in a 3rd person perspective of your character. The camera rotates freely, enabling you to see a complete map and minimizing the risk of an enemy sneaking up from behind. Since enemies are seen on the map and battles are not random encounters, this is a very important function.

Story

ToX has an over-arching plot of determining why the elements are out of harmony and how to restore mana to the world. When one of the kingdoms in the world of Xillia experimented with powerful magic, they unwittingly caused widespread devastation by draining the world's mana. It is your job to figure out what happened and how to fix it before the other kingdoms start an all-out war.

While the story itself is your basic good-vs-evil RPG fare, the depth of the storyline, the complexity of the characters (their personalities and motives) and presented in a manner to both intrigue the player and to soldier onward to learn more. In addition, ToX gives you TWO games in one; at the beginning you choose either the male (Jude Mathis) or female (Milla Maxwell). In either case, the story will unfold from the perspective of THAT character. Thus, while you will travel with the other person regardless, you will only interpret events through the eyes and mind of your protagonist. This, of course, means that you will want to play through the game AGAIN to see another side to the story!

As the story progresses, you will find yourself watching numerous cut scenes and work to cultivate not only new abilities for combat but also the friendships of others in your party. Using a robust crafting system, ToX adds another level of depth by encouraging the player to explore and find items. All of this combined will suck you into the game and make you want to press onward (maybe to the detriment of your job... make sure that you don't miss work in your zeal to beat the game!).

Overall

To simplify this review, let's recap:

Pros:

1) Beautiful combat system that keeps enemy encounters fun and challenging,

2) No random encounters! Enemies are seen on the map and can be avoided, if desired,

3) Beautiful environment, unique characters, and an amazing soundtrack,

4) Game controls are easy to pick up and play,

5) LOTS of replay value: play through the character-specific storyline depending upon the hero,

6) Wonderful and often-humorous storytelling, encouraging dialogue with others,

7) Lots to explore and many items to find; exploring the world is visually rewarding!

Cons:

1) It costs money; but I guarantee that you will find this to be the best $60 spent on a game this year!

2) The cut scenes can be a little long at times, but this is a minor irritation at best,

3) That Tales of Xillia 2 won't be available in the U.S. for a while!

Thus, simply put, ToX is one of the best games that I have acquired and played in 2013. The story is entertaining, the gameplay is fun, combat isn't random and does require strategy (you can't just button-mash and expect to win), and you can replay the game a second time to see the story from another viewpoint. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the graphics are gorgeous and the soundtrack is amazing?

If you haven't already clicked that "Buy" button, you should really do so. This game is a must-have for PS3 owners, Tales franchise fans, or the RPG-lover in your life. This is truly one of the best games I have played, and I encourage you to explore the world of Tales of Xillia for yourself!

Tales of Xillia is a must have for any jrpg lover! As of late if been disappointed with the feeling I have gotten from most of my jrpgs. I like them they just don't give me that special feeling that draws me in and keeps me coming back for more. I haven't beaten the game yet but I can tell you that Tales of Xillia is special. It makes me excited to play it and draws me in and keeps me wondering what will happen next. I don't want to ruin the story for anyone so if you want to know what happens just buy it and experience it yourself! The battle system is also gray, it is like graces but fine tuned and better. I can't speak for everyone but I haven't been this excited about a game since I played persona 4 golden for the first time last year. And Persona 4 golden is my favorite game ever!

In Tales of Xillia, you start from the perspective of one of the two main characters; your choice. Jude, a young ambitious medical student, plunged in the chaos of this grand adventure as he meets Milla, the incarnation of Maxwell, Lord of Spirits, on journey to keep the balance of spirits and the world safe, as she loses her powers.

The combate is by far the most engaging of all of Tales of... games. Battle your way through hords of monsters, with four allies. As the controlling party member, the master, you can link up with an additional party member to flank enemies in vicious combos, and combine powers to perform devastating Link Artes. Veering away from traditional level up schemes you gain points after, a level up and use it strengthen you party on a grid called the Lilium Orb.

No synthesis or dualizing, instead you use component to upgrade different shops to unlock various items.

Tales of Xillia, is a strong addition to Tales of... series, and a superb JRPG. it sequel is due to release in 2014 in the US

This was my first tales games but I was super addicted to it I could not stop playing the game till I was done , took me 32 hours to beat it and I can't wait for the sequel.

Ok so the story is really good the gameplay is simple at first but gets really in depth as you play , I mean I was founding new things about it in the last hour of the game , I recomend this game to any rpg fan out there or a person who like really good story in a game

While people are bummed about the fact that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles has dual audio while Xillia only has English voices, the voice acting is actually quite solid. The art style is quite different from previous Tales games, but the change was well worth it. The cell shading is top notch and the scenery is beautiful. The battle system is also really good and the linked artes gives another dynamic dimension.

There are a few things with the game that bugs me such as the delayed loading of NPC's and some graphical bugs. However, they aren't bad enough that they impede the experience.

It's hard to believe that a video game can change your life!

I received this cross stitching simulator about a year ago for Christmas and it sat on my shelf because I was afraid of boredom. Face it: this game, with its typo in the title ("Famlies are Forever") doesn't come across as an exciting, appealing, or entertaining adventure.

Let's just say that first impressions can be wrong. Never judge a book by its cover, or a game by its amazon product photo! I am glad to have had the opportunity to explore this game because it has changed my life. The patience involved in solving the puzzles makes this a prize winning investment. After a while, I settled into the knowledge that this is the game that my great great grandmother enjoyed as a teenager (although she probably used a different console since the ps3 didn't come out til this century) and had an unpredictable connection to the past. Learning how to thread a needle with floss (that's what the string is called) for cross stitching is your first challenge and it will not leave you disappointed! I won't spoil the rest of the exploration for you, but I hope you give this game a fighting chance since it can be both helpful and informative.

I have no idea what the cotton balls are for, if not cleaning the disc when your adventure has come to an end. Top notch educational, I give it 5 stars!

Very good game! Even though the soundtrack for the first game is better than this one, DJ Hero 2 does it again! Love the mode in which you play on clubs and all songs get together at once. Great graphics and I can say this one is the best Activision released for this type of games. Sorry Guitar Hero Warriors of rock but this game would be tons of more fun and better!

I was a big fan of the first game but this one is even better. The songs are better, there are way more of them, and they even added a career mode. The online play is a lot of fun, you can level up and unlock tags and stuff like on COD MW2. If you're a fan of Guetta, Deadmau5, and other music similar to them, you'll love the track list. Good party game for sure.

I would say it's a better game than the first. There are more challenges here and things you can do while mixing that weren't in the first game. I don't like this soundtrack as much as DJ Hero 1 though. It sounds more pop, but it does have the latest songs if that's what you're looking for. One problem I ran into was that this game completely froze my PS3. I just bought my PS3 new a few months ago so I doubt it's the console. I went to quit the game with the turntable controller and my PS3 screen went black and wouldn't load anything else. I couldn't manually shut it down either. I had to pull the power plug. Luckily nothing was erased or corrupted. Not sure if it's a glitch with the game or just a 1 time problem.

I love electronica and the DJ scene in general so this game, along with the first one, was a sure fire like. But, having taken it to a few friends houses I can atest that even people that didnt expect to like it generally do.

I put hundreds of hours into Fifa 12. Several seasons, hundreds of games with my ultimate team, and dozens upon dozens of 1 v 1 local matches against my friend and sworn Fifa rival. Despite its shortcomings, Fifa 12 became one of my favorite games of all time. Fifa 13 does little to change the fundamental mechanics of Fifa 12, rather, small additions, tweaks, and improvements give Fifa 13 a glistening coat of polish and make it an even more realistic, accessible, and satisfying football/soccer experience than ever before.

I'll address the question of whether Fifa 13 merits the $60 price tag, particularly if you already own Fifa 12. There's no clear-cut answer to this question, a number of factors need to be considered: How much do you play Fifa? Do you closely follow current soccer, whether domestic or international? Do you play Ultimate Team? If you are a very casual Fifa player, jumping on every now and then for a quick game or two to get your fix, then there's no rush to buy Fifa 13, as the core game experience is very similar. But if you're more like me, and want the most up-to-date squad rosters, player ratings, Ultimate Team, and most realistic soccer experience available, then certainly the investment in Fifa 13 is justified.

Big new additions to Fifa 13 are as follows: For actual gameplay, the new "first touch" mechanic basically adds more variability to how well players trap the ball. Depending on the position of the player, whether or not they're moving, and their ball control rating, players may trap the ball in a less-than-perfect manner. Dribbling is a little smoother; it still takes a fair bit of practice before you'll be successfully rounding defenders left and right, but it's more accessible than in Fifa 12.

Fifa 13 exhibition matches have a cool new feature called Match Day, where EA updates player ratings on a week-to-week basis to reflect how well the player/team played that week. This feature can be turned off if you'd prefer to simply play with the players as Fifa/EA decided to rate them for this year.

Edited to add: I've had a chance to play a number of online ultimate team matches; online stability/lag appear to be pretty similar to Fifa 12. I have a decent connection, so most of my matches have been pretty smooth. Ultimate Team has received a make-over, with single matches no longer an option, but offline and online "seasons" added, in which there are 5 divisions, and each season you play a set number of games against players in your same division, with the potential of promotion or relegation depending on how many points you can get.

For the sake of keeping this review to a somewhat reasonable length, I'll end by saying that thus far I am extremely satisfied with Fifa 13, and I foresee myself putting hundreds more hours into it over the coming year.

Finally the ghosts of past FIFA's seem to have left with the latest FIFA game. This version makes defending more of an art rather than a complete mashing of the X button. Players get rewarded for positioning their defenders, anticipating passes, and zoning out properly. Conversely offense is now much more rewarding, as it takes a couple good passes to get through a proper defense. This is made much easier by the new crossing types that EA has added to the game. Now you can get that perfect pass through the defense, and get rewarded with an awesome looking goal.

The physics of the game have also greatly improved. The game just feels REAL, which has made each match feel much more unique. The commentary seems to be a bit more dynamic, and is a nice touch for players who like to play many matches in a row.

After playing this game for awhile I can easily say it's my favorite FIFA game, as it's not just a 'roster update', rather a game that makes your FIFA experience much more richer and in turn more enjoyable.

I should be writing a five star review on how incredible this game is with its many play modes, great attention to detail, etc. Unfortunately, my favorite mode in any sports game is the career mode and Fifa Soccer 13 for PS3 locks up more than the Texas prison system. I've had one manager career completely ruined because a lockup occurs after a specific cup match ever single time and the career games which haven't been ruined experience non-fatal but very annoying lockups several times a day. Not worth the price until EA fixes the bugs.

This is an awesome football game. Love the online modes and tactical defending is the s***. Can't wait for Fifa 14! Hope to have some vuvuzela's in the next one.
