I bought this as a secondary mic to complement the mic I received with Rock Band 2. This is nowhere near as good. This microphone is lightweight and feels much cheaper, plus the cord is several feet shorter. And unlike the RB2 mic, you can't hear yourself in the game at all (yes, I adjusted the volume settings in game).
This was a general disappointment and I would recommend finding an older mic instead.

Decent microphone, performs better than almost any other microphone we have purchased for our Rock Band games, this is our fourth microphone, the only quibble we have is with the short wire length of only 9.8' and the weight of the microphone, it is very light and I assume very fragile.Outside of that the microphone performs rather well for now, I will update if microphone breaks down after a few weeks.

This is a very lightweight mic but it is very responsive. It does work very well in the game. The one drawback is that the cord is too short (9 ft.). Others may feel it is cheap or cheesey but do not be fooled Madcatz actually did a good job on this one.Read Best Reviews of Rock Band 3 Microphone for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Here
It is exactly as the picture shows. Great extra microphone and it is compatible with every game out there so far. Good buyWant Rock Band 3 Microphone for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Discount?
As a wired USB controller, the microphone syncs well, and there is no lag when hitting the notes with your voice. But I can barely hear my voice when singing, even after turning the microphone volume up and the background voice down. A horrible echo exists in the microphone, too, and I have a pretty good speaker system, so I know it's not my speakers.I returned this mic which I got at Gamestop and plan on getting another brand. It's too bad because this was created by Mad Catz. Maybe the "great for backup singers" slapped on the box is the reason why this mic feels so underpowered.
