I have played about a dozen differant Gundam games over the years.

This one is by far the best one. It is smooth, the story is easy to follow even if you do not know Japanese, and the controls are responsive.

If you are bored with the US selection on games, try Japan, they have more variety titles for their market, gundam series are just a few.

I only played this game few hours, more infos will be added.

good:

-menus in English, scenario mode, setting, ETC...you can play this game no problem even you don't understand Japanese(i understand Chinese characters, it helps a little)

-wide selection of MS Gundam

-Unlike dynasty gundam, everythings in this game are upgradable, sword, shield, guns, ability boosting parts

-lengthy and variety mission modes, you won't get bored

Bad:

-no check point during mission. This is a huge draw back for the game. It is not a funny feeling after dying, you need to restart from 45 mins ago especially on more challenge levels dying is inevitable.

-average graphics(maybe I used projector)

-sword only swing forward on the screen during attack no matter what direction you are facing.

-can not fully understand due to Japanese language

-some bosses are ridiculous hard, he can hit you twice to kill but you have to hit him 50 times.

-MS can not fly during battle, only dash forward, side way, up and down

I guess the gundam market is small in america. We get the dynasty gundam stuff but not this. We got gundam crossfire which was good but not great. This game is amazing there is so much content in the disc its crazy. You have online battle, ton of gundam to unlock and two sides of the campaign its a lot. This was worth the amount to import it.

P.S they added trophies so replay is doubled if your into that sort of thing, and the online communities is kickin but be ready to play with a lot of off shore folks

If you are seriously considering buying this you are most likely are already the king of person who is going to love it. simply awesome game, and despite being in Japanese there is plenty of text in english that allows for menu traversal. Playing the game is what gundam crossfire should have been.
