I bought one of these at BestBuy (I think Rocketfish is their private brand) because I wanted something more like the Xbox controller to use on the PS3. This one looked pretty close, but does not feel like an xbox one at all.

PROS:

1. I really liked the thumbsticks they have an indentation like the Xbox controller, and they're made of plastic with a nice slip-proof texture. My thumbs always slip off of the silicone thumbsticks of the sony controllers.

2. Can program 1 or more buttons to rapid fire in three speeds, turning many semi-automatic weapons into fully automatic, and saves a lot of "button mashing"

3. Comes with a 8 ft long charging cable, and has rumble and sixaxis. It also has bluetooth, so it does not take up a USB port.

CONS:

1. Control felt somewhat imprecise. I don't know if it was outright lag, but it just seemed slightly less responsive than the sony controller. It wasn't a complete game breaker, though.

2. The top bumper buttons (R1 and L1) are placed way too high, forcing you to hold your hands in an awkward feeling position. My hands started to feel sore after about a half an hour of use. This bothered me enough to return it. I've used both the xbox and ps3 controllers for hours at a time without having that problem.

I hope Rocketfish releases a new model with some revisions (aka copy an xbox controller as close as they can without getting sued).

This controller was a replacement for the original PS3 Controller.

Yes, the cost of this is cheaper than the original, but, after normal usage of about 3 weeks, the female plug for the USB was misaligned and therefore, cannot recharge power.

As a consolation, the company that sells this has a very good and superb customer service. They shipped the replacement right away.

Bought this as a second controller for my PS3 and it worked fine for awhile, though it seemed to need recharging much more often than it should. Also, for some reason I couldn't use this controller for Batman Arkham Asylum--just wouldn't recognize anything with this controller. Anyway, the other night I had the charging cable plugged in while using it and pulled back slightly, damaging the charger port. Tried to fix it to no avail and now I have a completely useless controller that can't be charged.

I bought this control looking for an X-Box 360 style control for my PS3. I prefer the 360 controller layout, but I like the PS3 system better (just a personal preference). And this control (no longer available through Best Buy) looked like the right fit.

First of all, it has the basic layout of the 360 style controller, with a little bit different trigger and shoulder button placement. That shoulder button placement makes it kind of awkward to get at them with ease. I am also not entirely sure if it is using analog face buttons, but so few games this generation use analog buttons I don't care. And even those few games that do use analog buttons, it doesn't seem to have much impact unless it is the sticks or left and right triggers, which are analog still.

Overall, the design is acceptable. And it has all the "function" (wireless, duel shock, sixaxis) of the PS3 control, with the design of the 360 control I was looking for. But then there are some design flaws that need to be addressed.

I felt a tiny amount of less than perfect response from the controller at times, but nothing that one would not expect from a third party controller. I could still play Midnight Club LA with the same precision. The biggest issue I had was with the trigger buttons. First of all, they felt like junk right out of the box. They feel "right" against your finger placement, but as soon as you squeeze them you feel the shoddy design. The springs are loose and make it feel very weak (nothing at all like the 360 and worse than the PS3 feel when you squeeze those triggers). You can also feel the cheap plastic and loose fit as the trigger wiggles in the space.

It was something that I could get used to tho, and seemed to be not much of an issue if you could get used to it. Then I used it for the next few months and found that those problems were now multiplying. After about 3+ months of pseudo constant use, one trigger sticks when depressed more often than not, and the other trigger is so hyper sensitive that just the tiniest amount of pressure on it makes it react as tho you just pressed it fully in.

Over all, this has made me have to switch back to my old PS3 Dual Shock 3 controller because the triggers just won't work right anymore. It is a real shame too, as this could have been a nice replacement for those of us that like the 360 design.

It should be noted that I have used the same Dual Shock 3 controller since I bought my PS3 over 3 years ago and it still works just fine (and I play fighting games and racing games that crush and mash on the buttons quite a lot). I just dislike the design.

I got these with a gift card given me, and have used them through a few hours of play. By the way, Rocketfish is a part of Best Buy.

The reactions do seem to have just a 'bit' of lag compared to the original PS3 controller. However, with my hands being somewhat long, I do prefer the feel, and layout of this controller. So that makes up for any tiny 'imperfections' in response time.

If I had a real big wish for these, it would be for a different material for at least the grips. The plastic is shiney, but kind of slick. Silicon or rubberized plastice would hold better.

Overall, I'll keep it for now. I have few days to try it some more. If the charge becomes an issue, I'll return it and update my review.
