Stormrise is a very good game! The characters and their dialog are terrible, but when your past that you will have a blast playing this RTS (Real Time Strategy). Allot of people who have reviewed this game have given it a bad review because they have compared this game to command and conquer and halo wars (both great games). They need to under stand that this is so different than those two games. The games mechanics are very easy to use and the new "whip select" method I LOVE it, this allows you to easily and quickly change from one unit to the next by just slapping the analog stick in the direction of the unit you want to command. They also allow you to use indirect command to allow you to advance with allot of units instead of one at a time.

Graphicsthis game has a good amount of detail for a RTS, the walls the characters and the environment all look really well and this is the first RTS game I have played where the building are actually with in a realistic scale to the troops and vehicles.

Game playThe game is so easy to just get lost in the power of commanding your army and hours will fly by as you build your nodes with turrets, shields, refineries, and warp gates. Then use the energy these nodes create to buy infantry, elite soldiers, sentinel snipers, Combat vehicles, sentinel scouts, tanks, aircrafts, and commanders in power suites. As you begin to build your army you want to keep control of your nodes, have snipers on the roofs, and sentinel surrounding the parameter to keep a solid fortress. Then have your troops advance on a enemy node to capture it and turn it to your advantage until all node are yours. This can be very fun as you have the ability to switch to any of your units in a flick of the analog stick just as you see the enemy has a huge army storming its way to retake the nodes and then you have a real battle on your hands. The only thing that is a little bothersome is the camera control but its a minor problem.

SoundOne of my most favorite things is the music. As the battle heats up the sick guitar driven metal music kicks in making you wants to tear apart the enemy and take all they have. Sound fx are decent and are nothing that stands out from what I can tell so far.

MultiplayerThis game allows for you to take your domination online to your friends or strangers which is a very tense experience because you now have what could be a lesser, equal, or greater opponet(s) against you so you will never know until your teams collide in combat. For practice you can play skirmish mode were you can play the AI in any map or setting just like online.

OverallI purchased this item brand new for $30 against what all the reviewers gave this game and I am so glad I did, this will be a game that I will enjoy for a long time. If you don't have this game, pick it up ( Its only $30!!!) and you will have a very good RTS for the console side of this genre. I give this gave five stars because I believe that a 4 is too low. out of 10 I give this game a very solid 8.5

AWESOME GAME-8.5/10 *****

If you give Stormrise a chance you'll find its a very enjoyable rts. I like its slower pace and huge environments with battles taking place on tops of towering skyscrapers all the way deep down to the depths of underground parking garages, this make Stormrise an excellent addition to anyones gaming collection.

It really adds more strategy and makes the player fight for every inch of ground to advance so don't expect short battles or cheap tactics like "rushing" to work in this game because you'll end up dead.

The graphics are very nice and right up there with Endwar, but everything's on a much larger scale in this game. No more tiny little buildings not much bigger than a tank, cityscapes have finally been done perfectly in Stormrise with its huge towering skyscrapers...

The game has a few flaws but nothing that can't be patched later.

The controls aren't game breaking, infact they are very similar to Endwar to some extent.

Stormrise is ambitious, innovative and alot of fun,I recommend buying this game.

the games has its flaws (more than others) but with practice and some luck lol its a different experience and maybe with some patching could be a really fun game

This game tries to bring up to date the starcraft/warcraft type games from the PC to the PS3 platform. I have played it for a while. The controls take getting used to and some maps are hard to navigate. The action sometimes happens so fast you never get a chance to respond you can be fighting on multiple fronts and miss a lot of things. This means you are relegated to setting up strong defenses and only sending out one sortie at a time.

The plot line sounds fantastic but I would have enjoyed cinematic transitions more and more development of the plot.

I give it 3.5 stars but if you are a die hard starcraft fan you might consider it a 4 star title

Having trouble with PS3 to Samsung Plasma 650 TV HDMI cables. Swapping different cables proved the cables to be the problem as one worked excellent, one just quit.

Purchased new dreamGEAR HDMI cable with the codes CDE-01 092313 and DGPS3-1300 on the bar code label. Their 6 foot High Definition HDMI 1.3 connection.

The resulting picture contained white dots (snow) and interruptions (popping loss of video) that daughter starting counting. When she got to 12 inside of a minute, told her that was enough.

Not Acceptable.

Swapped back to the other HDMI cable off of the Blue-Ray player (which is providing no such signal interference) and now I am taking the dreamGEAR cable back to the store.

Hope this helps someone.

I purchased this item for a New Playstation 3 Slim and it absolutely did not work. I tried to set the display to 1080p and kept getting an error message that this resolution was "not supported". My niece's boyfriend who works at a video game store tried to fix the problem and got the same message. The next day I called Sony and spent 2 hours on the phone with them trying to get the gaming HD and the Blue Ray to work they couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Next spent 30 minutes on the phone with Samsung Sony thought it may be a problem with my tv still nothing. Well today I went to WalMart and bought a different HDMI cable hooked it up and Voila my playstation automatically recognized the 1080p and adjusted the resolution. If you have a Playstation 3 Slim I would not recommend purchasing this product!

Okay, so this is a microphone stand. Plain and simple. The clips to hold controller are very useful, and the clip actually holds some older video game USB microphones, unlike other mic stands. The stand is made of plastic with mostly plastic connnections, which means that you can't get the adjustable parts as tight as you'd like. The main adjuster requires two hands on the lower part of the stand to tighten adequately, so if you go the wrong way, the mic will slide down and you'll have to reposition. If you want to hold the mic while you sing on the stand, it may slide down even when fully tightened. Also, the screw on the mic clip is loose, so expect to tighten it before you play with a Phillips head screwdriver. The clip is removable, so you could put it on a real mic stand if this one ever breaks. The major design flaw is that the controller clip for Xbox 360 does not let you hook up a plug and play charger to it while it's clipped on. So while I'd have loved to use this time to charge my batteries, I can't.

To sum it up: It's a cheap plastic stand with tightening issues, a great clip design for holding the microphone, and a controller clip that won't let you charge an Xbox 360 controller. If you can live with the above-stated problems, then you should be fine. I am satisfied, considering.

What you see is what you get...and that's all. The spring loaded microphone stand is decent and the microphone clip is very nice. I love the ability to hang your wireless controllers on the stand and even use one of the extra controller clips to hang my guitar (by the strap). I have one major complaint which keeps this product from rating five stars: nobody sells additional controller clips. You receive three clips, one for each major console system (xbox 360, PS3 and wii). If you're like me and only want one microphone stand, but would like to hang all your controllers on it, you're out of luck. I suggest writing your own review and posting your contact information so other buyers can email you and organize a trade. That's what I did and now I have three Xbox clips and just hang my Wii remotes from their cords.

I bought the mic stand so that I could simultaneously sing and play guitar at the same time. It works wonders. The stand has nice controller clips that hold your controller for you so that you want have to pick it up off a table or the floor between songs. Nice adjustable range on it and very sturdy. I definitely recommend it.

I purchased this product last year. I like to play guitar and sing at the same time in Rockband, and it worked excellently for that. The microphone stayed in the clip most of the time, and was rarely removed. The clip only lasted two months. It is a cheap plastic product made up of two plastic pieces and a large spring. Once it breaks it is difficult to find a replacement. Mic holders at your local music store are not compatible with this product because the stand is made of metal tubes that are smaller than regular mic stands. I replaced this product with just a basic mic stand with a rubber slide in/out holder for just $5 more. It is heavy duty and can't break, and has now lasted over 14 months and will last as long as I want to keep it around.

Great Universal Microphone stand that also holds controllers. I will list the cons and pros.

Pros

1.Can be very adjustable to very low to very high

2.Not as cheaply made as I thought it would be

3.Great price

4.Cord organizer

5.Rubber feet

6.Attractive design makes it look like a real stand

Cons

1.Only has one controller clip for a ps3, wii, or xbox 360

2.Cannot purchase additional clips

3.Should have made one for a ps3 that comes with like 3 ps3 clips, or a wii one that comes with 3 wii clips, etc...

Overall I am very happy getting this to go along with my rock band 2. It looks like tons of fun! [....] if you want xbox 360 clip or wii clip. I will trade either one for a ps3 clip. Thanks!

To start off, If you are not a fan of the TV Show that this game is based off of, you will most likely be a little put off with this game. This is a game that does what it was intended to do, Give fans of NCIS a way to interact with the feeling of the show.

This is not to say that this is a game that will give you a feeling of inclusion that one would hope for however.

Mechanics:

While it does focus on some pretty action oriented themes, NCIS: The Game is a point and click adventure only. I was somewhat surprised by this due to the fact that the show has some of the best car chase and dramatic action sequences of this genre of television.

The game moves pretty smoothly for the most part, You take the role of the NCIS agent needed for any given task Tony/Ziva while collecting clues/evidence, Abby for the forensic analysis, Ducky for the autopsy portion, McGee for the Hacking/Database searches, and of course Gibbs when taking on a subject in interrogation. No matter who you are, the game moves along with a series of minigames that get progressively more difficult as you progress in the game. None of these should prove too challenging and failure has very little consequence other then having to replay the scene in question until you get it right.

In my mind this makes sense since they are reaching out to a large demographic of fans, many of which may not even play video games. In this, the game feels very casual and pretty much any fan of the show can pick it up and play.

Audio:

This is the part of the game that made me wince the most. The reason for this is simply in the voice acting. Please note that the characters in this game ARE NOT voiced by the cast of the show other then Ducky (David McCallum) and Anthony DiNozzo SR. (Robert Wagner)It's hard for me to describe this in the fact that many of the voice actors that were chosen to play the roles did not do a bad job, in fact many of them do a fairly decent adaptation of the characters with slight inconsistencies to the character, others however seem so out of place that you just can't quite push it to the back of your mind. The voice actor that portrays Gibbs in the game is probably the worst out of them. His lines are delivered in such a way that fans of the show (Like myself) find themselves shaking their heads at some of the dialog. Overall, the voice acting is a disappointment for a game that was heavily advertized by the show itself. You just end up wondering why they couldn't get the entire cast instead of just letting ducky and SR go it alone.

The rest of the audio is pretty much up to what you would expect, from the signature "Thump" as a scene ends to the title music playing through a pixelated version of the show's opening theme. In the game itself it is pretty well done. At the NCIS office you can here phones ringing and keyboards typing the in the background, various muffled conversations and pretty much everything else you'd expect in an office setting. The crime scenes play up the scene a bit with some low tension building background music that never gets loud enough for you to truly take note.

The audio of NCIS is a mix of what you'd expect and voices that just don't add up.

Story:

This is by far one of the games highlights. The game is set into 4 "Episodes" that play out very much like what you would expect from the show. Each episode is written by the writers of the show and it really comes across well. Each episode adding a bit more to the depth of the game while not drowning you with complex variables. Since this is a point and click minigame collection for the most part the story really helps to tie it all together and make each segment seem significant.

I won't give away any spoilers but by the time you reach the fourth and final episode it will become clear that all of these cases have something in common and the climax of the game brings you climing your way up the side of a building as Gibbs. While I would have wished for a bit more action from this scenario, the story comes across as something that any NCIS fan should at least enjoy as a "Lost episode" like faeture.

Graphics:

The game's graphics are nothing spectacular but serve their purpose, it is evident who is who and what you are looking for. While the backgrounds and characters are bland for the most part you never really feel like they are "too bad" either in the grand scheme of things.

Replay value:

I would say the replay value on this game is low, you can't move onto the next scene until you have completed 100% of your objective and you are practically given every Trophy/achievement in the game just for completing it so there's very little to go back to unless you feel the desire to go back several months/years down the line and replay it.

Length:

Each episode of the game lasts roughly an hour (Roughly the length of an episode of the show) However gamers with good coordination will probably be able to beat this game much quicker.

Overall:

This is a game that any fan of the show can get into, while you may not get exactly what you would hope out of the package you do get a bit of additional content for those of you who love the show and want a bit more. It's a good game and does what it was set up to do. But it is a casual experience, do not look for too much depth here. For this, I give the overall game 3/5 stars.

I love both in NCIS shows so I was ecstatic to find that they made a video game based upon the show. As soon as I got the game, I rushed to my PlayStation 3 ecstatic that I was going to be able to solve crimes alongside Gibbs and his team. I was a little disappointed to hear the voice actors were not the actors on the TV show all except for Ducky and it was a little surprising to hear the different voices than what I was used to hearing on the show. I also feel that they could have made the episodes longer or added more episodes for you to play. Because just when I got in the groove of what I was doing the game was over and the only option you have is to start it over again but by that time your you know how to solve the cases. Overall, it is a great game for someone who loves mystery games and loves the show.

I am a hardcore NCIS fan and wanted this game to be like the show. With action and free roaming . The game looks and sounds good. I hated to accept the realization that is is just a bunch of mini games . I wanted to interview people and run, drive and shoot.. Even work on a boat while drinking bourbon in Gibbs basement. I was hoping role playing or something. Feel how it is to walk around the office. Nothing of any sort. Not even the real actors voices. This was a rushed play on gamers love of the show to get a quick buck. No fun and it doesn't get any better then the first ten minutes. By the time you read this you should be able to get it used for a couple of dollars, literally. Even the most hardcore fan can do without.

The chick at gamestop mentioned that the headphones required batteries that alone should of made me second guess my purchase, but sadly I did not. Got home unboxed everything. Get the headphones, no instructions how to insert batteries. Took some time and finally noticed a grove on the Right side of the headphones lifted it and the one of the latches broke, turns out you need to twist it off counterclockwise. So put in batteries and and played music for about 3O seconds before the speakers blowout and all I hear is a white nose that goes on and off constantly.

You get a soundtrack, headphones, the game and an online code. The headphones aren't extremely fancy or the strongest in the world, but they are good, and the auto-tune is alright. The soundtrack has no real songs, but more of the start-up music, the music when they're first robbing the bank, that kind of music. Do buy if you want to play a game that's GTA on hardcore drugs, don't buy if you're concerned about censorship, violence, or otherwise.

I have always appreciated a good rhythm game and DJ hero is just that. The game boasts a good song selection for everyone hip-hop, rap, pop and a little rock. If you have listened to a radio in the past 30 years your going to recognize a majority of the songs.

HardwareLets start with the actual turntable its self. It looks amazing for starters. The turntable is very well constructed feeling heavy and durable. I have never spun records but I would assume this is what it would feel like. You have the normal colored buttons on the turntable. To the left or right, whichever you decide to put the mixer table, has a Fader, Effects dial, Euphoria button (that lights up when the euphoria meter is ready) and full D-pad and controller buttons.

HARDWARE

Prosfeels sturdy, heavy and durable

Realistic feel

Full spinning turntable

looks amazing you wont mind having this setting on your coffee table

Cons-Buttons on turntable can become slick(from sweat or your potato chip grease stained fingers) after a while of play making the heaviness of the turntable cause you to scratch for a little to long on some parts or slip out of your hand.

The fader has to be moved from left to right and back to the middle which is hard to do precisely since where the fader clicks in the middle can be hard to find and can become frustrating when going for a streak.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is a lot like all the guitar hero games. It reminds me of the Guitar Hero games as it is easy to pick up very hard to master. Most gamers who are not experienced DJ's will stick with the medium difficulty. You have a green, red and blue record stream that comes down the screen like previous guitar hero games. The green and blue are tied to the two separate tracks while the red usually controls some type of effects noises and the freestyle parts on tracks where you can add in samples(like the classic air horn noise or Flavor Flave's YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHH BOOOOOOY!) that you select from a set before you start each event. Euphoria is practically the same as star power the music gets louder, multiplier doubles and you don't have to fade the tracks in and out until the euphoria meter runs out. One of the coolest gameplay features is the rewind. Imagine your friends are watching amazed at your DJ skills (the game looks hard to play to bystanders and you really mimic a DJ to some extent) you go on a streak and acquire a rewind. The hook comes in "my name is CHICKA CHICKA SLIM SHADY" rewind..."my name is CHICKA CHICKA SLIM SHADY" and the crowd goes wild! Another great feature is the Party Play. Let the game be the background music for your next party and you can join in anytime. The game amps up the difficulty pretty quickly not enough to be annoying but definitely challenging and very rewarding. The best part of all you can't be booed off of the stage you just wont earn as many points with a bad performance. You will need stars to unlock everything. There a few songs that support the guitar hero controller for a second player to play. I haven't used this feature but I have noticed there are only a handful of songs that support it.

GAMEPLAY

Prosgreat slightly familiar gameplay

-Party Play

-Rewind

ConsHard to stay on a streak sometimes with having to be precise on the fader parts

-you don't have the ability to record your own samples for freestyle sections and there are only 10 or so sample sets for freestyles possible more added in DLC?

-No create your own DJ you have to use the ones they provide for you that you unlock as you go but the all have a good selection of customizable clothes and tables with different skins

SET LIST

I'm going to be honest I have never really liked DJ mixes and house music all that stuff. It always seemed to me like they never get to the most memorable parts of song. Now I have a new understanding of the music genre. DJ's do this for a reason to get listeners to anticipate that classic part of the song that everybody knows. The set list is pretty massive well over a 100 songs. This seems like a lot of songs and they are all widely popular songs that most will know. Almost all of the songs are two song mixes which is what you would expect from a DJ game. You can't help but react to the music and neither can friends watching. Just like recent rhythm games you can make your own set list and either play or put the game into party play mode and jump in and out of the song if you want.

SET LIST

ProsHuge Set list of very popular songs.

-Music that will get you moving

Consnone really the music is what this game is about and you will enjoy it.

OVERALL

DJ hero is a game that I think will quickly gain popularity. Once people come to terms that this game is fun for solo players or with friends it will take off. The music is amazing and the first time you scratch through Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti" vs. Shlomo "Beats" or any of the other memorable songs you will think your ready for the club. This game is a buy for sure if you're on the fence don't base your experience off of a few minutes at your local best buy you wont get the full experience. It's best to set down through the tutorials and start from the beginning. If you have had dreams of DJ'ing or just like being the life of the party and appreciate some good music pick up DJ hero today.

This is my first review of the thousands of games I have played in the past 14 or 15 years of gaming so feel free to comment on my review. I plan on reviewing plenty more games in the future since I am a weekly gamestop visitor so im a pretty avid gamer I usually put in a good 20-25 hrs of gaming a week in all different genres.

So we were very excited about this game coming out. We initially bought the renegade version, and realized a few hours later it wasn't worth the $80 difference. The added cd is just a musical cd, we thought it added some music to the game... but no! We already own all the music from these guys that we want. So in essence we got a stand for $80. My boyfriend is 6'4", so we thought it may be worth it. Once again wrong. I stood up playing it for all of 2 minutes, then decided to put my feet up on the ottoman and sit it in my lap. Much easier! Even if you don't do that, buy a $7 TV dinner tray from Walmart and put it on there. We now have the cheaper one, and the difference back. Overall besides that the game is fun. One annoying feature though. In some songs there is this really annoying high pitched ringing sound. I don't know how to make it stop. I guess it's part of the "party" noises... but it's really annoying. I initially thought it was our smoke detector going off. The noise goes in and out on some songs, and it's completely gone in others. All that said we enjoy the game. Nice alternative to all the boy shooting, sports, and fighting games.

This game was a gamble for me when I purchased. It was pretty expensive (for me at least) so I would have been pretty disappointed if it was not very fun.

Not only is DJ Hero very fun, but it is an excellent game for more than one person to enjoy. Whenever I have visitors they can't put the game down, sometimes for hours. The controls are very easy to learn and the different difficulty levels make it so that everyone can play without frustration. The easier levels are perfect for children and the harder levels are almost an endless challenge.

The music alone almost makes this game worth the purchase. The bulk of the songs are never before heard mixes. Even if hip-hop isn't your thing, the mix of genres is pretty awesome. From rap, rock, blues, techno, R&B, and so on, there is something that most people will enjoy.

I ended up getting the standard version that comes with just the game and turntable, however a friend of mines has the Renegade Edition that comes with a really nice case that also doubles as a turntable stand with telescoping legs so that it can be used while sitting or standing. It may or may not be worth the extra money to go for the Renegade Edition. I manage just fine with using the turntable on a tabletop or even on my lap. Also the Renegade Edition comes with two discs, both with 12 songs each picked by Jay-Z and Eminem.

Pros: Easy to learn. Quickly addictive. Tough to master. Downloadable content for virtually endless mixes and set possibilities. Sturdy controller (turntable). Online play. Some songs also playable with guitar from Guitar Hero.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that you cannot purchase a second controller as of right now. They only way to play against someone else is for that person to have the game on their own. I'm sure this will change soon though.

All things considered, DJ Hero gets five stars from me. It's hard to believe that anyone will not get some sort of enjoyment from this game.

As a DJ, I was pretty disappointed in this game. Overall, it does a poor job of replicating the real experience. For starters, there is virtually no control over the music. Either you follow the suggested button presses, or some pre-recorded skipping starts happening. This isn't a huge deal, but I've noticed that the first thing a lot of people like to do when they pop this game in is to start scratching. Needless to say, they're left in the cold. I think this game would be a lot better if it had a free-for-all mode where players could just get wild with the music.

Secondly, there's no mixing. It's done automatically, courtesy of the pre-recorded music. The game does require a little cross-fader action to accompany the music, but I found it pretty disappointing that my favorite aspect of DJ'ing was reduced to "a little cross-fader action."

As for the biggest control aspect (the colored buttons), it's kind of weird having to make swift button presses on a platter that tends to rotate when you do so. Basically, the buttons serve the purpose of a sampler a sampler that was somehow able to be built into an LP.

In future iterations of DJ Hero, I'd like to see it resemble actual DJ'ing more closely. Maybe release a controller that has two turntables and a mixer, so players can actually do some mixing themselves. Maybe take the buttons off the platter and place them on the mixer instead. IMO, DJ'ing isn't so difficult that it had to be dumbed down to the extent that maybe a guitar would. Of all of the `Hero' instruments, I would say that this controller ranks in between the guitar and mic in fun factor all of which are a distant second to the drums, in my opinion.

Snobbery aside though, this is a pretty decent rhythm game. The music is nice, and I like that it has guitar support. I also hear that the game has mic support, though I've never tried it. Supposedly, the makers are also considering adding drum support in the future. These are some pretty nice efforts to make the game a little more fun to groups.

Final Verdict: If you're looking to scratch that itch you've always had to be a DJ, this game isn't gonna get it done. However, if you just want one of the more entertaining music games out there (which isn't saying much), this might be a good choice.

Want PS3 DJ Hero Bundle with Turntable Discount?

Ok, This game is great. I was waiting for a R&B/Hip-Hop answer for the Guitar Hero and Rock Band. So it's here and I love it. I had Guitar Hero World Tour and it was cool, but some of the music I didn't relate to. I grew up listening to R&B and Hip-Hop, don't get me wrong I love all music but this is what I can really get into.

This game is fun because when you first begin you go thru a training tutorial of everything that you will do in the game. This game is merely hand/eye coordination and that's it. It's fun and not hard at all. The turntable looks pretty basic at first sight but it's is pretty loaded with stuff once you begin playing the game (it keeps you busy). Gee wiz, after I played a couple of hours I felt the numbing and stiffening in my left hand for keeping up with all of the streams of music. All and all it's very additive and fun.

The gameplay is really good too, I love how the crowd gets all amped up and they start "raising the roof" which makes you get more into the flow and that really helps you stay focused on hitting the right streams because you don't want to let the crowd down. The better you do the more points and stars you accumulate. The stars are critical because that is how you get "paid in pull" and unlock other Dj's, turntables and venues...there is so much more to unlock but I can't remember all of them.

Overall, I say buy it ($120). It will keep everyone happy for a while, It think it has a high replay value. I really appreciate DJH because I love the music and there is so much variety from the music library in the game. I read that Eminem is looking to have an expansion package in the future with more tracks and I can't wait. I see I'm the only 5 star review thus far. I know there will be many more.

Thanks for checking out my review!

IF you are looking for a HDMI cord and don't want to blow away $100 then GET THIS!

This is a 1080i not a 1080p but I checked the difference on two different T.V.'s and I couldn't notice anything so don't feel as if you have less picture quality than a 1080p cord. This is great for game platforms like Xbox360 and PlayStation 3.

I was a little skeptical this game would live up to the hype. Then some diminished reviews came around and I was already feeling a let down. Where could they go wrong? Was my thoughts. Well that didn't stop me from purchasing this game. After 30 minutes I was blown away. All skepticism was gone and I was in Gamer Heaven.

Let me start off from the beginning. Yes there is a plot twist and it's pretty bizarre. Just think that your watching a Michael Crichton movie and it will make sense. Playing in the Middle East several hundred years ago is a different idea. It's hard to say what you could expect with this concept.

So what makes this game amazing. Lets start off with the landscape. It's brilliant and beautiful...Really majestic. You don't understand the scope of this game until you start playing. The world is surrounded by several small villages and three large cities. The only way to travese this open terrain with a horse. Fortunately they are about as easy to find as a car in todays society.

What also sets this game apart is the ability to do what you want when you want. There is no clock on you and your not stuck going into a mission. Everything is open based. The character is amazingly fun to control you can scale tall buildings and make amazing leaps of faith. Climbing up a building that is several stories and then leaping to certain doom is breathtaking excitement. This is what games should be about.

Beyond that is a mission based game. Similiar to Grand Theft Auto in style. You can accept simple missions like pickpocketing and protecting citizens to the more main based assasin missions. You can battle soldiers if you want as you have many enemies but it's not really advised. Following the assasin missions can be complex and involve several steps that make the story very intresting. Obviously a lot of time was put into making this top notch.

For anyone who likes open based games with large environments then Assassins Creed is for you. From the majestic peaks to the clustered cities. This is trully a next gen experience. The storyline and incentive program will keep you playing for many hours. Definately a worthwhile gameplay experience. If you want something to keep you busy that doesn't involve guns go out and get Assasins Creed.

Assassin's Creed

Ubi Soft has become known to me as a company that puts out products they promise. When they state the game will display certain features, they deliver in spades. Assassins Creed is no different from this rule. They promised a new distinct control system, done. They promised a diverse and exciting way to explore the open environments they created, done and done. They said this game would make you feel like an assassin with iron in his veins and skill in his actions, well they didnt promise that, but its their too.

This game is a marvel to be seen, with your own eyes, while you control every move on the screen. And I mean every, the controls let you do more than just button mash. You are the assassin. If you own a next gen system, you should own this game. The grace and precision that the lead character, Altair, uses to climb and leap his way through the large cities presented here is in one word, amazing.

Never have I seen anything like this in my years as a gamer. I couldnt stop exploring and killing, because every minute spent, feels new and fresh. I simply adored this game since it was announced and I love it more that I have played it. Dont get me wrong though, the game has a few flaws, but the creators put so much in it, that they are easily either excusable or passed over because you are to busy to catch them cause you are having so much damn fun with what is awesome about it.

I am a huge fan of UBISOFT and their gem of a franchise titled Assassin's Creed is no exception. I have owned/played this game on all three platforms namely Playstation 3, Xbox360, and PC. In my Opinion the PS3 version is by far the best and that is if you have configured your console correctly to your HD television.

Altair is an awesome main character to play as it really contributes to bringing the Holy Land to life and immersing you in a epic tale like no other ever told before through a video game. The Limited Edition is the way to go with an extra blueray disk with all kind's of special features taking you behind the scenes and dragging you more into the life of an assassin. The only complaint i had was UBISOFT could of included a bigger and not so cheaply made figurine. With this aside the game is so good that i can look past this minor flaw and appreciate the graphic art and story put behind altair and the world around him. A must have game on any console!!!

I'm sure some will decry my statement about this game, but I was disappointed with this game as a whole. Yes, the visuals are stunning and intricately detailed. Yes, it does have some innovative control schemes. It is also very fun to be able to climb any building around. So what do I NOT like about this game???? Well...first of all, after completing 3 assassinations, I found myself doing the same things over and over and over: Come into new town and find several high spots to scout out the surroundings, rescue citizens from harassing soldiers, pickpocket things from certain people in town, eavesdrop on conversations to get information. Everything about this game looks great when you first get into it, but after you get a good ways into the game, it seems you are living in "Groundhog Day". I was really looking forward to the release of this game, so I really don't like giving it a 3. However, after playing through a few levels, I have lost interest in even completing the game. I hate to say it, but this game was a HUGE letdown for me. I would suggest renting it and playing through a couple of towns before buying.

Other reviewers have noted that the game feels really repetitive and that they lost interest in completing the game. I agree (I have competed the game so that I could write this review), but want to emphasize that the negative "feel." I feel very disconnected from the character. This results from

(1) his movement ... sometimes he feels heavy and slow, it's frustrating to move him. The free run parts are exciting but they are not that interactive;

(2) the miniquests ... these are redundant, and resort to "timed challenges" to add difficulty which IMO is a bit of a cop-out. The deeper problem is that the mini-quests aren't longer run character choices they're just random events that don't really involve the mission you're doing except you for a few random lines of dialog.

(3) the action/stealth ratio ... I realize bought a game called "assassins creed" I thought the point of the game would be stealth kills and daring escapes. As it turns out, a lot of the kills are not stealth, but after big battles. There's no "economy of violence" principle forcing you to limit your killing (like thief and Splinter Cell had), there's no penalty to you at all for killing, in fact the game guides you to enter into big high-publicity fights. This part of the game just doesn't tick the way it should.

(4) no real risks ... my character has a lot of health. I can battle thirty people and be OK, or jump from a big ledge and lose most of my health only to recover it in a few seconds.

(5) Annoyances ... there is a lot of recurring sound bits. These take me out of the game.

The assassination missions are OK. They do get progressively harder, but more through battle elements than through stealth elements.

The game is a pretty decent fight and explore game, and the cities are pretty and the free-running is fun, but the game design has some major flaws.

I recommend you rent this before you buy it to see how you like it. If you're really interested, I think you'll see a lot of used copies available soon (not all of them played to completion).

This game is a great game and is very fun for a couple of days. My 8 year old loves military games and when he saw this game he just had to have it. The game kept him interested and seemed to be perfect until I walked into his game room 3 days after he got the game and and he told me he had beat the game. When I bought my PS3 in 2010, this was the first game I purchased by recommendation. Just about every game I've purchased has been traded in at some point with the exception of this one. The story is amazing. The concept was something I've never seen before. Without spoiling anything, the scene involving the mall, the kid, and the car had 10 different people in the room with me crying. The game is very intense. For those that say the game is very short, I say you only did one play through. There are 17 different endings. I've played close to 100 hours of Heavy Rain and I have seen all the different endings. Once choice changes the entire outcome of the game. I have yet to use Move with it but I can imagine the awesome difficulty increase it brings. If I have to make a recommendation on any game for PS3, this game signifies what Sony set the PS3 out to be: Mature, Stunning Visuals, Mind-blowing.

Bought this game having no idea what I was in store for. Little did I know I was about to be blown away. It's definitely a psychological thriller from beginning to end. Its play like a movie with input from you. Every decision you has dire consequences and effects how the game ends. Definitely buy it and be amazed!

In 2011, I bought a PS3 solely to play Heavy Rain, and it was worth the purchase! I've never played a game that has imbued me with such palpable sadness. It tugged at my heartstrings. The soundtrack is nothing short of memorable and melancholic and coheres with the tear-jerking story. From the opening chapter, I was instantly invested in the characters. By the time the opening credits rolled, I have already drawn my first tear. Ethan Mars, the main character, is a broken man, and you can't help but feel his misery and grief.

The graphics are brilliant and the storyline is very captivating. It's like you're watching a movie and as far as movies go, this is one of the best psychological thrillers I've ever seen! There are lots of twists and turns and the ending came as a surprise. I'm surprised Hollywood hasn't turned it into a movie.

This is a standout, interactive game that is unique in its gameplay. The story is slow-paced at the beginning, but then it picks up speed, so don't be put off by its slowness. You rotate between playing four different characters and each decision you make; whether you fail your mission or don't, affects the outcome of the story. Unlike other games, you don't die or re-spawn, and that's what makes this game unique. Characters CAN die, but the story goes on and there's nothing you can do to change the events. I found myself second-guessing the decisions I made throughout the game. It's a game that requires contemplation and it's quite intense.

You receive a tutorial at the very beginning, while doing mundane tasks such as taking a shower, changing your clothes, etc, in order to familiarize yourself with the controls. This game relies heavily on Quick Time Event. You either love the QTE or hate it. I honestly didn't like it, because I have a tendency to confuse the buttons when I'm flustered. Nevertheless, it didn't subtract my overall enjoyment.

If you're action-oriented, then this game might not appeal to you because the game is very story-centered. But I recommend that you give this game a chance because it's absolutely brilliant! This is one of the BEST games I've ever played! It was a truly memorable experience and I wish there was a sequel!

Want Heavy Rain: Director's Cut Discount?

I bought Heavy Rain after years of indecision it dropped to a price that I thought was reasonable so I stumped up the cash and waited with eager anticipation. I received the game on Thursday, and I finished it on Saturday. That's not to say that I played it constantly I would estimate that I played it for less than 15 hours, and maybe as few as 10. If I had paid full price I would have been extremely disappointed, and even at $20 I'm not sure that I got my moneys worth.

Yes, you'll hear arguments about there being 17 different endings, however, those endings are 17 cutscenes that are strung together at game completion, depending on who lived or died during the game, as well as a couple of other choices you may have made meaning that in any giving completion you'll see something like 5 of the 'endings'. I don't think it's worth playing through again simply to see a slightly different ending the game is very linear with almost no deviation from the set story, so the gameplay experience will remain the same through each playthrough.

Stylistically the game is stunning and incredibly atmospheric possibly one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. At times you kind of believe that you're watching a film noir, but don't sit back and marvel in the beauty, as you may have to press a button at the right time mid movie.

This leads me to my major grumble about the game the linearity of it; the passive role that you, the player, take for much of the game and the lack of decisions that you have to make. The challenge is not a cerebral one there is no puzzle solving whatsoever. It's more of a press the right button(s) at the right time or fail kind of challenge (it's called QTE) and I often felt like a contortionist trying to get all the buttons pressed in one scene I even had to use my tongue to get the final button press. Also, I sometimes had the hardest time making the characters walk where I wanted them to they seemed to get an attack of the stupids and walk into walls or tables this tended to happen as the camera angle switched, or the camera angle was such that it was hard to judge distances and object placement.

It was also a little pedestrian and pointless at times to give you an example, one scene has you making scrambled eggs for your sidekick. It's the only thing you can do in the scene you basically have to walk to the kitchen, and perform the right controls to get the eggs out, get the pan, turn the gas on stir the eggs and flip them onto a plate. You can't skip this you have to make the eggs before you can get to the meat of the scene, which is the next clue in finding the killer except you're not involved in the actual puzzle of finding the killer, you just watch that part.

There are some decisions that you have to make in the game, but it seems that most conversation choices that you make have little impact on that game in general (I say most, because that are a few that impact the endings.) When I say linear I mean that at the end of any scene the same scene will always follow there are no divergent paths in the game, unless one of the characters dies. If you play to the end, and all of your characters survived to that point, then you've pretty much seen every scene in the game.

Maybe to give you some context about the games I enjoy, I tend to like long games, with lots of side quests that are non-linear in nature. I should also explain what I mean by non-linear I like to be able to make choices about where I go next and what I do, and what order I complete things in. I don't mind that I'm going through a linear story per-se, but I want to feel in control. I didn't get any of that in Heavy Rain.

I like the GTA series, Skyrim, FPS games, Lost Cause 2, Portal 2, Assassins Creed series and I play maybe 20 hours a week. I add this so you can maybe judge whether you'll like Heavy Rain, based on whether you and I like the same games.

I really wanted to love this game, but I just didn't. Very atmospheric, gritty and suspenseful but too much of a movie and not enough of a game for me and far too short.

Doesn't rip, removes easily if you messed up applying it, doesn't leave residue. A little difficult to get on but once you do, looks beautiful. Make sure you rub down the top of your PS3, buff out any bumps on it. When you apply this don't hover over the PS3, hair could get under and its very noticeable if you apply it over.

Start at the front left-hand side of your PS3. line up the short front edge and long side edge.

Now rub back and forth across the sticker as you LOOSELY hold it, you want very little tension as you apply.

Push air bubbles outward as they appear. When the sticker is completely applied, and there are any little folds on the edges, rub them out to the nearest corner.

The image could have been a little bit better quality, but its only noticeable up close. Like 3 inches. This will take 10-15 patient minutes to properly apply.
