As someone who has purchased every THQ wrestling game for years, I had been eagerly anticipating this latest release. Unfortunately, after playing the game I was left with a feeling of disgust instead.

The game is full of bugs. In the 24/7 Mode which represents the game's season mode, more often than not the choices you make will be ignored. For example, at one point I was asked if I wished to relinquish the WWE title. I refused. However, the game reacted as if I had chosen the opposite and the story progressed as if I had indeed given up the belt. This glitch happened again and again, at numerous points in the game. I can't believe something like this made it past the play-testers.

Other bugs include the lack of pyro on customised entrances for created wrestlers. You can choose to have pyro as part of your entrance when you design it, but when you come out to wrestle it will simply fail to activate. Once again, I have no idea how something like this managed to make it into the game.

Even setting aside the bugs, 24/7 Mode is pretty lousy. The cut-scenes which open shows are often nonsensical in relation to what is meant to be happening in the story. For example, your character might merrily chat with a wrestler he is meant to be in a bitter feud with. At first glance the ability to plan out your wrestler's entire week rather than just playing the matches might seem like a fun concept. However, it quickly becomes tiresome (though players who liked the general manager mode in the previous games might like it better than I did).

The game is plagued with long loading times, which often enhances the frustration of 24/7 Mode. Even selecting one of the non-playable options such as attending an autograph signing (something which involves no animation of any kind a picture just appears on the screen, along with a message telling you how much popularity rating you gained) forces you to endure more loading time.

In general the new control system was acceptable. However, there does not appear to be any manual control to change your wrestler's focus when in a match against multiple opponents. In theory it happens automatically instead. However, in practical terms the automatic focussing is terrible, meaning that you often stay focussed on one wrestler when intending to attack another. This can lead to a lot of headaches, when you turn from a downed opponent to punch a standing one, but end up performing an elbow drop instead.

For some reason each wrestler now has fewer moves than in previous games in the series. I don't know why they would reduce your number of moves, but they did. Now if you initiate a strong grapple you have the option of 8 regular moves and 2 control moves, whereas in the last game you had 16 regular moves, and I believe 4 control moves. I thought next generation technology meant they could include more material in games, not less...

Flaws from the last game are still present. For example, in a 'last man standing' match the referee will only start his count if the downed wrestler will fail to get up unlike in 'Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain', where the ref would count anyway, and the wrestler might be able to get up in time to beat the count. This may seem like a small point, but to me it completely ruins the drama of the match if the ref only counts when you're going to win. Imagine if they did that for pinfalls. No more two counts just a win or no count at all. Surely near falls (or counts in the case of a 'last man standing' match) are an important part of a pro-wrestling match?

Some match types which were present earlier in the series (eg. the slobberknocker, and 3 vs. 3 tables and 'hell in a cell' matches) are no longer available. Once again, I don't see the logic in removing options when improving technology should instead be providing the space for more options. If you try playing as a diva the situation is even worse. Whereas back in 'Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth' they could play any kind of match, now they are severely limited in what they can do.

The commentary is on the whole extremely weak. Most of the time JBL sounds like he was idly reading from the sheet when they recorded it, without even really paying attention to what he was saying. Much of the dialogue is taken directly from the last game, and it quickly becomes repetitive. They could have at least put in more play-by-play (eg. "DDT!", "Brutal powerslam!") to pad it out and make it seem a little less barren.

There's no option to import music on the PS3 version, like there is on the Xbox 360 version. I don't see why this should be the case. If anything it should be the other way around, since the PS3 has a hard disk as standard whereas the Xbox does not. So, if like me you were hoping to use 'King of Kings' as your entrance theme, or some other track which isn't in the game, you will be disappointed.

These are the problems which most immediately sprang to mind, though I'm sure there are many others which I have neglected to mention. THQ appear to have become lazy with this series. They know that fans will buy each year's title out of hope and habit, so they don't seem inclined to put much effort into game design anymore.

After eagerly anticipating the release of the first PS3 WWE title, and after owning the series for the past 5 years, the day finally came... and boy, was I disappointed.

The BAD: Loading, loading and more loading...Every action in the game requires load times. This gets very frustrating. Reduced movesetwith the redesigned controls, although quite a bit easier to use, about 50% of the move choices are gone. In prior games, you had approx 16 strong grapple holds, in 08, a mere 8. Targeting is a big issue as well. A new free-move run style is fun, but quite often leads you standing next to your opponant swigning in the air. There is no way to adjust this. there's a few other minor deletions from previous yearsas pointless as it was, I liked customizing the locker room, unlocking toys, statues, posters and memorabilia. All that is gone. The locker room now looks like a back-office store room with poor lighting and no ability to pan around. then there's the roster. Everyone knows it's horrible this year. What's worse is the inability to create missing stars; read on...

The UGLYCreate a Wrestler mode is TERRIBLE! This is a big part of the game as I looked forward to using my created wrestlers in various attires to compete online. However, once again, PS3 falls way-side to X Box as it's limited to 32 layers (again) while 360 has 64 (again!) Likewise, a lot of the logo's and designs are non-compatable with online play. In other words, short of using the basic pre-designed tattoos, if you try to be creative, you can't use this CAW online. And a personal gripe of minethey took out the "Rated R Superstar" logothat's an easy 4 layers to create each time manually. In 07 it was a 1 layer option. (Not that it could be used online anyway now, very disappointing.) 24/7 mode is cumbursom. Repetitive, load times and not very responsive. Storylines develope themselves regardless of your input.

The GOOD (yes, there's some...) graphics are much better, not quite what I'd hoped, but for the 1st time on a PS3, it's a huge improvement from 07. More weapons and hot spots. I'm still amazed by some of the new weapon movements, articulations and scene's. Give THQ credit for that improvement. The new fighting style controls are a welcomed adjustment. It allows each character to be more unique and has simplified the controls exponentially. No longer press R2, hold for an 1/8 of a second, tap triangle and move the right analog stick praying it works. The controls are much simpler and more effective, although that comes at the previously mentioned loss of move quantity. Online play is better than last year, PS3 users can now use CAWS online without getting disconnected (although, again, the CAW mode is seriously lacking.) One of the best features, (again, back to the CAW mode) is the addition of new hair styles. For those of us who use this mode, it's a Godsend to finally have long hair options for male wrestlers that look authentic.

All-in-all, it's an OK game. With the advanced technology of the PS3 it's a real shamw THQ didn't take advantage of it with it's first release. With 80 gigs of hard drive and 8 processors, it should load faster, and hold more content. Theres an abundant amout of material missing from previous years, this version seems stripped down, almost like a demo. Next year, perhaps THQ will listen more to it's gaming fans, in the mean time, I'm gonna check of Midway's TNA wrestling game... perhaps that'll pick up where THQ left off!

I have to say that with this years installment of the WWE Smackdown series I am kind of disappointed as it displays a true step back in the progression of the overall series. Here are a few pro's and con's about the game that I think anyone should consider before buying the game.

Pro: They have overhauled the control system and fighting styles, for example if you're a high flyer like Rey Mysterio you can pull off some of his very spectacular moves with just a one button push simplifying it so anyone can play it like a pro. The hardcore fighting style also gives you an extensive controlling system when pulling off weapon offense, for example if you are a hardcore wrestler you can have a chair and do the classic pillmanizing move of placing an opponents ankle within the chair and stomping on it in an attempt to break your opponents ankle. Flaming tables have also made their debut and this is truly the best looking thing about it as when you're playing an ECW extreme rules match you can recreate some classic moments.

Con: The roster is very very disappointing this year with the exclusion of the former tag team champs London and Kendrick or Kevin Thorn to make room for lackluster diva's that let's be honest nobody will play as. This is always a major criticism I have every year with the WWE games as there are always big stars that you would naturally expect to be in but aren't. If you don't include DX which aren't playable from the very start you only actually have 1 tag team in Cryme Tyme which as I'm sure you can imagine if pretty stupid when you have 2 separate tag team championships.

Pro: The Legends roster. Where THQ let you down with the main roster they make it up to you with the legends roster as every year they take votes from fans as to which legends they would love to see in future games and this year shows that they haven't ignored the fans. Focusing a lot on ECW they have Foley, Terry Funk & Sabu as ECW legends (Rightly so). Then we have the returning Rock, Austin, Shane O Mac, Piper & Bret Hart and 2 new additions with "Ravishing" Rick Rude and the Returning Mr. McMahon.

Con: WWE 24/7 Mode. This is honestly a big disappointment for the game. THQ promised us a brand new mode that combined Season Mode and GM Mode, they also promised us it would be brilliant and exciting but all we got was repetition and boredom. There are however new additions to the mode that make it sort of interesting, they give you the option on your days off to do things like rest yourself up after a hard days work or do some promotional work like a press conference or commercials. You also have the option to star in a movie for a day (Honestly how many movies do you know that are filmed in a day?) Doing such things like resting yourself up to lower your fatigue however seriously damage your popularity, so to balance the both are extremely difficult.

All in all it is a good, entertaining game that is worth at least a purchase and a few rounds on your PS3. I haven't had much go of the online mode yet but the ranking system seems pretty easy to understand and simplistic so honestly get it and decide for yourself whether you want to keep it or not.

I have not had a wrestling game since the playstation, and I figured i may as well get an updated version, and the price was right. This was on clearance new for a really low price, I figured what a steal. I was wrong. There is a reason for the lower price.

Good: The graphics are great, characters real, good introduction to the ring.

Bad: Playability for a weekend gamer like is poor, combersome trying to get the right button or joystick to get a move off, not a quick learning curve. what happen to the days of the buttons doing all the punching and kicking, and the arrows doing the moving. not so much anymore. Secondly, the voiceover during the matches repeats quite a bit, and gets annoying . Finally the load time. A few of my matches were shorter than the actual load time for enterance sequences and post match shows.

Overall, if you get this at a discount, the above reasons, and for many of the other bugs that other gamers note. However, I am still pleased with the updates in gaming since I last had a game. Worth a look at, and for serious gamers, rent it before you buy it to make sure it's worth it to own.

A lot negative comments about this game it is a game not a popularity contest any game will always has it flaws I have different opinion about this game this game when it came out it was going in the right direction the game play is good there is some glitches but any game has that 24/7 mode in the game is good you get to live and feel like what a WWE superstar endures in yearly basis and what path you take effects you in the game I am not going to give any more details just remember it features ecw superstars and if you want to know more than you will have to buy it and see it for yourself

We purchased Disney Sing It for our Daughter because she loves singing and she knows most of the Disney songs. She loves this game and has a blast jamming to the songs. My Wife and I found it very entertaining to watch her as well. This game has 35 different songs from artists like Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus), Aly & AJ, Jesse McCartney, Camp Rock, High School Musical, Cheetah Girls and much more. It should keep your kids entertained for a long time because there are different difficulty levels and you can also pick if you want to sing the main part or maybe be a backup singer. There currently isn't any additional songs that you can download via the Playstation network but I hope they release some in the future. I uploaded a few screenshots of the game so you can get a better idea of what it's like.

Songs included

Aly & AJ: "Like Whoa," "Potential Breakup Song," "Chemicals React"

Hannah Montana: "Best of Both Worlds," "Life`s What You Make It," "Nobody's Perfect," "Rock Star"

Miley Cyrus: "G.N.O" (Girl's Night Out)," "See You Again," "Start All Over"

The Penguins of Madagascar cartoon debuted on Nickelodeon in 2009 and has led to a regular running series as well as a few specials and video games. In the latest video game adaptation, the Penguins of Madagascar are once again trying to avert possible world destruction from their arch enemy, Dr. Blowhole. The game is a companion piece to the stand-alone episode of the same name, Dr. Blowhole Returns Again.

At its most basic level, the Penguins of Madagascar: Dr. Blowhole Returns Again, is a puzzle game. The game offers no combat whatsoever, despite the content of the cartoon it is based off of. Each level consists of a different environment on the way to finding Dr. Blowhole. The penguins start off in the zoo and make their way through the sewers to Dr. Blowhole's underground lair. Each penguin has unique abilities, Skipper can take charge of the entire group and have them work together, Kowalski can build things with items found around the maps, Rico can blow things up and Private is smaller than the rest and can fit into tight spaces or charm nearby creatures. The key to success in the game is realising which penguin is needed in each situation and how to maneuver them around the map successfully.

Each level increases in difficulty and I only found myself perplexed on rare occasions. What made the levels more interesting were hidden chameleons around each map. There are also snow cones, fish and peanut butter winkies that are used as currency throughout the game. The player can collect these and then redeem them for mini-games purchased in King Julien's store.

What makes this game so much fun is the adorable animation of the main characters. While this game won't win Game of the Year for graphics, story or any other intangibles, the game makes up for this with ingenuity and full inclusion of the cast that makes up the Penguins of Madagascar cartoon. The cut scenes feature various characters from the cartoon, including Phil and Mason, the monkeys, Marlene, the otter, Burt, the elephant, Alice, the zookeeper as well as the lemurs led by King Julien. The characters are all true to form and some even assist the penguins in their task to traverse the zoo.

The graphics in this game are sub-par in many areas, most notably the cut scenes. Considering this game is based off of a cartoon, I was disappointed to see a lack of polish in this area. The animation and graphics of the actual game play are near flawless. There are no visual inconsistencies that stood out or made the characters walk through walls. There were no clear frame rate issues and the penguins' movements matched those from the show exactly. Penguins don't run, they glide, which was wonderfully captured and integrated into the game play.

The sound and voice acting were pitch perfect, it matched what any fan would come to expect. All the regular voice actors made appearance in the game, including Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Blowhole. The background music was quiet and not over-bearing, the sound effects for the movements helped understand what was needed in specific situations.

The main storyline will take any experienced gamer less than 5-10 hours, but the game includes additional mini games as well. The games include a Bowling game, using Mort as a bowling ball, a Ninja fighting game, as the penguins fight ninja bowling pins and a Dance game with King Julien. All three games are simple enough, though the trophies attached to them are quite challenging to reach. Of the trophies I'm missing, it is only these three that are missing and denying my platinum status for this game.

Overall, this is a really fun game to play, but at the price tag of, currently, $40, I can't say that it is worth it. The game play, while interesting, becomes stale after only a few hours, despite varied environments. I am a fan of the show and felt that it would be an adorable game, much like other cartoon based game. I was glad to see I wasn't disappointed, as many adaptation games take the fun out, and this one certainly did not. There doesn't appear to be a difficulty setting in the game, so replay value for the main campaign is low, but the mini games could prove to have an undetermined amount of time to sink into the game. On the whole, this is a fun game, but it is more likely designed for kids than adults.

This is a fantastic game. My 6 yr old boys love it and played it exclusively for two days in a row. The game is fun and entertaining, Dr. Blowhole is reminiscent of Dr. Doofenshmertz of Phineas and Ferb. The game is challenging enough without being too complicated. The only draw back is that it is a single player game. I didn't do enough research on that score, I figured that with all the characters there would be an option for two players so that they could play together or against each other. However, this is a personal issue and not a reflection on the quality of the game. It was a good purchase and we're happy with it.

I purchased the skins (ordered colored ones, but got plain gray instead) for our RockBand drums, and boy, did they look sharp. They didn't last very long, though. I bought them at the end of January, and I just took the last one off. We use the drums almost daily, and within a week, I had to take the skin off the red pad because it had split in several places. It came off in almost a dozen pieces. The rest followed pretty quickly.

I gave the skins three stars only because of how good they looked, even though they were the plain gray ones, when they were on the pads.

I don't think you can find this version anywhere else. The chinese version is the only one that has Japanese audio and English text. Although the English dub is already pretty good, this makes a pretty cool collector's item for an already amazing game. Japanese audio has a different ending musical theme. So if you don't really like Leona Lewis, this version let's you enjoy Sayuri Sugawara's voice!

Although hearing the Japanese voice actors is much better than the English ones, the translation is not actually a literal translation, since they just use the subtitles designed for the English version, which is full of action movie cliches. A literal translation would have been best like in anime, but hearing the Japanese voice actors is still much better than the English ones (although the English voice actors are not as bad as their analogs in anime fortunately).

I bought the us version first only to realize how terrible the English voice actors and actresses were in this game.. If you don't know Japanese don't worry this is subtitled in English and well worth it! The Japanese voice actors and actresses fit the characters so much better! You won't be disappointed!

First of all, I'd like to say that I have been playing strictly BF3 and MW3 the last couple of weeks, and I had Deadman's Quest on my dresser collecting dust. I was having doubts that I would enjoy it. I wasn't impressed at first either. As I first started, I was sitting on my bed, and realized shortly that the grappling hook wouldn't work as well as I wanted it to. I then realized it was necessary for me to stand up, and this was a game that requires you to stand up. The controls made more sense, and were very accurate. I really wasn't in to the story, so I skipped all the cutsecenes. It's pretty much about a boy named Edmund who is now dead, and his new name is Deadmund. He has to collect pieces of an amulet, blah, blah, blah.

The gameplay is a lot of fun. The best part is that you feel kind of cozy playing this game because of the colors. One level may be all blue, and another all red. It's fun, and gives me warm fuzzies inside (if that makes sense). The orchestra music is very soothing as well. The environments are so cool and colorful. I especially like the elaborate treehouse, as well as the blue and green crystal caverns.

I don't think this game will sell well, unless people buy the $100 Move with this game included. It's definitely worth the 20 dollars extra. Currently, I'm #9 on the leaderboards in the story mode, so that tells me nobody is playing it because I'm only 4 or 5 chapters in. There is an at home and online coop battle mode, as well as a versus mode, but I couldn't get an online match going, so I've been playing solo.

I really do wish that San Diego Studios would have created a sports title, but so far, this is the second best title after The Fight: Lights Out (which requires 2 controllers). I think for anybody considering a Move, my suggestion is to consider this bundle for $100 (which includes Sports Champions and Deadman's Quest) over the $80 Move bundle which only includes Sports Champions.

edit:on December 4th this bundle is sold by Amazon for $80 with a waiting period, and the Move Starter bundle is $50 (good job Sony and Amazon). I'd say give the Move Starter bundle a shot, and if you like the Move, you can always decide what you want to purchase afterwards.

Peace, and have a Happy Holidays!

Lou

We bought this bundle to add Move to our PlayStation. We wanted something that would give us some exercise and to be fun. The Sony Move product is relatively low priced (since we already had the PlayStation) and easy to install. The accuracy of the hand held unit with the games is quite good and the overall system works quite well.

We were most interested in the Sports Champions games which is all we play. The games are not as aerobic as we'd hoped. They do provide hours of fun as we play Frisbee golf or ping pong against each other. My only complaint is there are some pauses between holes in Frisbee Golf that slow us down.

This bundle was the cheapest way we found we could buy into the whole Move world. We've since purchased a second controller so we could play two player games that required a second controller. We also purchased a charging base for two controllers to make things easier.

We'll be looking for new games to buy and try but for now we're happy with this bundle.

Has everything you need to start using PS move, the motion controller will charge with the mini usb you get with your ps3

i have played wii and this ps3 version of motion sensing and i have to say this is honestly way more accurate

game 1: med evil moves is a role playing game that you go through a story line fighting skeletons using a sword and shield, bow,and Chinese stars, it is very addicting and lots of fun for all ages

game 2: sports cahmpions has several different games that you can compete with computers or other people the games are botche, ping pong, gladiator duel, archery, volleyball, disk golf (hope im not forgetting any...)

one thing to remember these are fun and work with just the motion controller but you should look into getting a navigation controller (the motion controller without the light ball) it makes any game more fun and allows you to use motion with other games that require both.

Also you can play in the dark and everything still works perfectly, my living room is small and i am able to play 5-6 feet away (i think it recommends to be 8ft away)

all around a great way to get started with move

I bought these in order to fix my thumb sticks, which had been worn down to the plastic. After putting these on it's like they've been given a second life. I love these. They're a lifesaver.

These work absolutely amazing. Easy to put on (no glue required like some say). They actually provide a noticeable difference in grip and are very comfortable. Used them on my xbox 360 controllers, and am ordering another set for my ps3 controllers. I used these on a marathon gaming session, which was pretty much a good part of a weekend. They never loosened or came off once, and my finger's never got sore (I think it feels better than the standard analog sticks).

Read Best Reviews of Grip-iT Analog Stick Covers Here

The Grip-iT looks quit good, and comes with four separate thumb covers, they where quite easy to put on (Pro-Tip: Flip them inside out, place them over your thumbs-ticks and then flip them back down). They fit snugly n the ps3 and xbox360 controllers, and don't move around at all , even in high-directional based racing games). They barely add any height to your thumb-sticks so it won't feel much different (unlike the Fps-Freeks which feel really awkward) so don't buy it for the height or anything like that, but the grip is a LOT less than the original thumb-sticks. My thumbs seem to start sweating (slightly) because of the synthetic material they're made out of, which can reduce the grip for longer gaming sessions. I like this on the Xbox360 controller as I don't like the concave surface of their thumb-stick, however on the ps3 I don't really use it. In my opinion it should only be used if you are looking for a cheap way to gain grip on a worn out thumb-stick (as it's much cheaper than getting a new controller). I personally only use it on the Xbox360 controller (as I previously stated) as I grew up on the Ps1/2 and the Gamecube (which all had convex surfaces) as I am able to yield more control on them. If you have worn down thumb-sticks give these a go, the grip isn't as good as the original but it's relatively inexpensive and might just do the trick for you :). Thank you for reading.

I first picked a set of these up when Amazon had their buy 2 get 1 half off video game accessory sale. I was curious to try these and for $2.50 a set it wasn't that much risk.

I'm happy to say that after receiving them and putting a set on both my Xbox360 controller and PS3 controller I love them and I have to switch them around to my different controllers when the batteries die on one. These work great for FPS games like Black Ops or Halo Reach on the Xbox. I've also used them for Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 and they're awesome.

Pros:

Improve your thumb grips so they don't slip off an you need to re-adjust your thumbs.

Very soft and stay on your analog sticks.

Perfect fit.

Cons:

On the PS3 controller it is possible to max out a certain direction on the stick and the 'Grip It' will rub the controller a little. Can be remedied with proper alignment I think. Not an issue on Xbox360, plenty of clearance.

I've purchased 2 more sets for my friends and family for the holidays this year and I recommend these to any friends and family looking for a better grip on their worn out controllers.

NHL13 is the most impressive and frustrating entry in the NHL series. But this review specifically addresses the shortcomings of the Collector's Edition. A Special/Collector's Edition that includes only downloadable content is just fluff. There's no real content unless you want an extra boost for your Online Pro (so very insignificant) or your Ultimate Team (a bunch of Kings, Devils and Wayne Gretzky), a mode that you may or may not play. The only legitimate benefit for buying the Stanley Cup edition is not having to look at Claude Giroux and Flyer orange on the cover. But even then, he's on the disc so there's no escaping him. (He haunts my dreams.) I know most of the stuff that comes in CEs are junk. But it's junk that you can hold in your hands and show to your friends with an air of mock sincerity while they secretly consider you a fool for spending extra $20. With this edition, however, after the the novelty of beating innocent HUT players with your ageless Gretzky diminishes, the only trinket you have left is regret.

For 20 extra dollars you are getting a embossed steel case and extra DLC. The DLC is 3 ultimate team packs and a boost pack for create a pro, so if you do not play those modes, I would not recommend the product. For the ps3 edition, you also get 10 percent off a purchase on the NHL store, which i'm never going to use cause Amazon has everything way cheaper even after 10 percent, and the full NHL arcade game that is priced at 9.99 if you were to buy it separate on the ps store.. All in all, to me, this was a great deal for me as just the extra game covers half of the extra price of the upgrade. The steelbook looks very nice, and the DLC is very useful, great buy!

I have never owned a hockey game, but the playoffs got me more interested in hockey. I couldn't wait for NHL 14 to come out, so I bought the 13 edition. I have not been disappointed with it. Really enjoy the creation part and putting your own player through what an NHL player goes through. Very exciting game.

Or check the size of the "steelbook" casing? My copy wont even fit in my DVD shelf, that is made for individual discs. The casing for the Stanley Cup Edition is atrocious and cheap. It is oversized and plastic with an aluminum feeling wrapping that makes the case too large to store with other DVD's (which are already larger than PS3 and BluRay dics).

In addition, the game play is not all that changed from the 2002 version of the game. Some controls are changed, but there are too many controls and the convoluted button layout must have been rushed together or never tested...or both...because they are terrible.

Moreover, the game glitches constantly, the AI is terrible and in HUT (hockey ultimate team) EA doesn't even apologize for ripping you off. They charge you (real or in game money...which takes ages to accumulate) for digital hockey cards that can be used in your team, however, more often than not the packs are never loaded to your account and they just take your money. I have talked to EA about this and got "help" but after months still no packs or refunds.

In addition, the in game money (pucks) do not always load either, so they basically force you to pay real money for no real product.

Stay away from EA and all their titles.

Unfortunately, if you are a Hockey fan EA is the only choice for you. Hopefully there will be some competition once EA is sued for monopoly style business practices (in which EA buys out the rights to the leagues, logos and players and no one else can use) and other companies can create competitive practices and choices for the gamers. These business practices by EA are illegal and have the end result of belittling the consumer.

Again, avoid ALL EA titles if you can help it, they do not care about you, just your money.

I am a big Sims fan and have always played the PC versions before this. The reviews I read said that Sims 3 Pets was fairly robust for PS3 so I opted to get that and play on the couch rather than drop a ton of money on the PC game and all the expansion packs. (I already did that on Sims 2 and it still plays fine!) In general this game is entertaining but there are a few limitations that were not mentioned in any of the reviews I read, which are actually pretty upsetting when you consider that for many of us, The Sims is all about creating a family, building relationships, etc.

1) Your household can only have 6 Sims (pets included). Not knowing this, and still getting the hang of the controls, I thought I'd start out by breeding my dog before I moved onto having kids, giving my couple time to save up some money and build up careers. Y'know, what responsible parents are supposed to do. So the dog had three puppies a lot to handle, but I was up for the challenge. Once I got the hang of it I decided to move onto kids only to learn that my household was maxed out three puppies, one dog, and two adults equals six Sims. Okay, the responsible thing to do is send some puppies to the shelter, right? I agonized over which one to keep and which two to give up, then went to the phone to adopt them out. Except...

2) You can't adopt out your pets! There is NO WAY to get rid of an unwanted pet. Well, there is one way... you can gift your pets to PlayStation friends who also have Sims 3 Pets for PS3. I don't have anyone to gift them to. Oops. (For people who can use this option, you have to be online and logged into your PlayStation account for the "Gift to a friend" option to show up. The online manual doesn't bother to mention that.)

3) After reading up on this a bit online I learned that attempting to kill off pets by closing them off in a room without doors etc. doesn't work (which I personally think is a good thing, and I don't think I would have wanted to do it anyway), but there are some karma rewards that can help. One turns your pet into a ghost (which I guess you can then "zap" if you have the right skills?) and another one turns your pet into a human, who can then leave the household (and take other unwanted pets with him). Not wanting to "kill" anything, I set my sights on the second option. Building up enough challenge points to get this karma reward took me at least six hours. Once I finally got it, I was able to turn one puppy into a child, and then give him a couple of birthday cakes to make him an adult. Finally, he and the other puppy could move out so my poor Sims (who have had babies on their want lists for weeks now) could have a child. I thought I'd move them into another house in town, and they could still keep in touch with the family. Except...

4) YOU CAN'T MOVE SIMS OUT OF THE HOUSEHOLD WITHOUT DELETING THEM COMPLETELY! Unlike on PC, you only get to play one household in this game. Worse than that, the members of the household who move out are just gone, poof, as if they never existed. Your Sims' relationships with them disappear. (I had a hard enough time "killing off" my pets in this way, can't imagine how much more unpleasant it'll be once I've raised some kids and it's time for them to leave the nest.) And to add insult to injury, you can't just kick them out, you also have to MOVE the Sims you're keeping into a new house. There's no option to kick people (or pets) out of your household but keep the rest of the family where they are. As far as I can tell, in order to split up the household, everyone has to leave the house altogether.

For me, a big part of the fun of playing Sims is building a huge family that continues for generations. The family I've been playing in The Sims 2, going on five years now, has turned into a huge dynasty. I know the PS3 has memory limitations, and I didn't necessarily expect to be able to do that with this console version of Sims 3. But I certainly didn't expect the game to be so nonchalant about killing off or deleting Sims you've worked hard to nurture, or to make it so difficult to enjoy some of the basic joys of Sim life (like having a family). If I'd known ANY of this up front, the many hours I've now wasted trying to humanely deal with my puppies could have been avoided... I just wouldn't have bred the dog in the first place. I really want to like this game, for bringing a decent Sims experience to consoles (which I don't think has been done before), and I don't doubt that they had to make hard decisions about what to keep and what to cut when bringing this game to PS3, but anyone who's attached to the Sims should realize that this is just bogus. Come on, EA Sims players get ridiculously attached to their characters. After more than 10 years developing this franchise, you must know that by now. So why screw with us like this?

Oh, and the game freezes every so often, too. Not a ton, but I've had more freezes with this game than any other PS3 game I own.

I don't usually write Amazon reviews and actually feel a bit silly for getting so passionate about this. But hopefully someone else who plays The Sims for the same reasons I do will read this and it'll help you make a purchase decision. Don't get me wrong, $20 is not a bad price for this game and I don't regret buying it, but I would have played it differently if I'd understood all this from the beginning.

This game is almost exactly identical to the Sims 3 base game for PC (except, now there are pets!). You can marry, have twins or triplets, have a home birth or go to the hospital, work interactive jobs, hire a maid, buy a car, adopt a child, take advantage of Karma Powers and earn Lifetime Rewards, customize everything (including voice, favorite food, appearance, etc.) and so much more! There are also options to turn off story progression, to lengthen your Sim's lifespan, to alter your Sim's freewill, and to even take screenshots! The pets are a wonderful addition, but not everyone wants a dog or a cat. (I'm still wishing they'd left in the horses)

I originally purchased this game for my fiancee', hoping a guy like him could get into The Sims so we could share it. He is normally a fighting game/shooter game player the most boyish games you can imagine. Now, he is ADDICTED to The Sims. I've never seen anything like it! (Haha) He's married, had a child, bought a pet, and has advanced very high in his career. If he can like this game, anyone can!

We haven't encountered any glitches and the gameplay is completely smooth. With The Sims 3 and The Sims 3: Pets for PS3/Xbox360, this is the very first time console gamers have gotten a Sims experience so close to home. None of the other previous Sims for console were this identical to the PC version. The only thing I wish EA would include is the possibility to have direct control. Since it's on console, I don't see why we can't have the option to play directly as our Sim. Regardless, I'm looking forward to more Sims for console in the future. (Psst! Bring The Sims 3: Late Night + Generations to console...Haha! I wish.) If you have the PC version, there's really no reason to purchase the console version unless you're curious. Truthfully, it's still not as good as the PC, but it's so close that it will definitely impress you and give first-time Simmers a perfect impression on what Sims is all about. Being a seasoned Sims player, I would still recommend this console version to anyone looking for something addictive and captivating. BUT, if your PC can handle it at highest performance, spring for the PC versions.

*Please remember that this review is in reference to the PS3/Xbox360 versions. The Wii and DS versions of any Sims 3 game are completely different and cannot compare in quality.

I read all the reviews for this game before I bought it, so I was expecting it to be super glitchy and not too fun. I have only experienced one tiny glitch so far and I have been playing for a few weeks. I also own Sims 3 for PS3, and I would say that this game may be a tiny bit more entertaining. The town map is different, because it's a different town, and you get to play as the animals, who are also able to gain skills (hunting, digging). You can sell everything your animals find. For example, in one of my games, I have a cat who hunts all the time and I earn more money from selling bugs and spirits than my sims do from their jobs. There are also a few more clothing options and hairstyles available than the Sims 3.

The only setback is how much slower the game feels than Sims 3. The loading screens stay on longer, and you can't make time go by as quickly as you can in Sims 3. Also, and this may just be user error, I had a more difficult time than I thought I should making my pets, mainly when changing their coat color patterns.

I love this game!!! It is soooo fun and addicting. If only there were not so many glitches!!! It's driving me nuts!!! I bought the game, played it for a day, then it started freezing up on me randomly. I kept having to exit the game and redo everything only to have it freeze on me AGAIN!!! Then, yesturday, my playstation stopped reading the disc AT ALL. It read all my other games, so I figured something was wrong with THIS game. There were no scratches on the game, so I figured it might be warped or something and went and bought a new game. This one plays, but the freezing is still there and, even with the new game, it says that there was an error reading the disc, so it takes a about two to five times trying to load the thing before it will load only to have it freeze up while it's loading. When I finally get it to successfully load I still have to save it every five seconds in case it freezes, which it always does!!! So, is the game fun, YES YES YES!!! But, does that really matter if you can't even play it? The fact that it is so fun just makes me that much more upset. I wondered why the game was only twenty dollars, now I know. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR PS3!!! My brother has the game for his XBOX 360 and he doesn't have any of the problems I'm having. And, it's not just me this is happening to. There are posts all over the internet about the PS3 glitches. EA, FIX THIS!!!

I chose this product because I am not only a fan of One Piece but also because, fighting games are what I am all about. Well, that and RPG games but anyway The combat system is pretty spot one. Countless enemies to continue fighting to gain experience. Special attacks are awesome. Graphs are amazing for HD gaming. Also I enjoyed seeing Nami wearing that revealing outfit xD lol I couldn't resist. The only problem I have is the constant turning of the camera angle to where I have to find where my opponent is. Also, The Targeting system, It can only be used on bosses not underlings which I find to be lame. But all and all The game is excellent. I had to import it all the way from Hong Kong since I don't have PSN on my PS3. waited for weeks but it was worth it

I love one piece and this game works like a charm. It is just like Dynasty warriors meets One piece if you are a fan of either i suggest picking it up. The ps3 is region free so it does not matter if this game is from Europe it will still play in America. Dynasty warrior fans will enjoy the feel of the controls with a one piece twist. It has an online mode a main log side logs a gallery a coin system. Check it out and buy it. It starts at luffy just starting out and does skip some events but you fight Don krieg, Crocodile, and many more villains you know. If you are not far in the anime or manga just to warn you there are spoilers, it goes all the way up to the great war.

I could already predict future reviews of this game. Subpar graphics, no story, etc. etc. Both of those are true, but personally I've never been much of a fan of any of the stories in many video games. If you're like me, you'll enjoy this. If you've enjoyed lightgun games from the 80's at the arcade, you'll enjoy this. If you're a hardcore gamer who is in their teens or twenties, you'll probably have a lot of complaints. One thing I can say is that I was really impressed with the fun factor of this game. The environments are all different, the scenarios are all different. You fire different kinds of weapons which all feel fun to shoot with the Move controller vibrating. Let me warn you now though, if you don't have a Move, don't buy this game. Most likely you won't like it (Shattered Spear is on rails).

The Navigation ControllerYou'll use the navigation controller to throw grenades, reload, and to take cover. You can use the standard controller for this, but it feels a little awkward, although can be done. When I first started I used the Playstation Move controller along with the standard (Sixaxis) controller, and then tried to use the Navigation controller. Although it showed me using the navigation controller, the controller wasn't working. I had to restart the PS3 and start over using both controllers to restart the PS3. I think this was a flaw overlooked by the developers.

The GameEvery mission is different, and it doesn't get stale like I thought it would. You can go to the armory and carry an extra rifle, reload faster, or carry more grenades as you go through the levels. The checkpoints are fair, and don't make you go back too far if you die. When I first played I died a lot because I was just playing with the Move controller, and realized I couldn't take cover like I wanted to. Once I finally got the navigation controller working, I was very happy with the game and couldn't put the game down. The levels are somewhat short, but I personally prefer that since each mission is totally different which adds to the variety. The biggest reason I give this game a good rating is the variety, and how well it works with the Move and navigation controller.

Update: I just had to come back and warn future purchasers of this game, after attempting to play with the Sixaxis again. I'm warning you it's BAD. If you think you're getting a deal for 20 bucks, and you don't have the Move and Navigation controller you'll be sorely sorry. Otherwise, this game is really a gem for your Move collection. I really, really love it with the motion controls. It truly is one of the best Move shooter games to date.

Among a bunch of what looks like fluff reviews on here (and one real one), I can comment honestly that this game is worth the price for people who have the PS Move and Navigation controllers. I bought the Move to play some light gun style games (e.g. Time Crisis) and I took a chance on this game since there are very few actual reviews of it and most of those are people giving it 1/5 star reviews because they tried to play with the controller, which never works for any light gun/on-rails shooter game. Once you have your Move/Nav set up (and this thing plays really well with the Sharpshooter attachment since your default weapons tend to be assault rifles), you have a classic style on-rails shooter with some interesting innovations to the genre to set it apart from games like Area 51 and Time Crisis. One thing I liked was the cover mechanic was much more dynamic that Time Crisis, wherein if you take cover, you are not 100% safe from enemy fire since one or two enemies might still be able to do damage. You can duck left, right, or down and sometimes more than one. Cover is really important here since if you are exposed, you will take damage quickly. Taking cover correctly and popping out to fire a couple shots before going back into cover makes the combat feel more visceral and in line with a game like Gears of War than simply having shooting gallery style stages. There are also health kits, ammo, and even enemies that you won't see unless you are taking cover and checking all your side. Then there's another element of a finite amount for your rifle before you go to using your pistol backup. It makes you shoot carefully and conserve ammo modestly. There is an experience points improvement system where your rank goes up a la Call of Duty's multiplayer and you can unlock additional health, ammo, grenades, gun upgrades. Killing enemies gives XP and points can be maximized by getting critical hits (read: head shots), hitting enemies at long distance and using environmental elements for multi-kills. Missions are plentiful and this game takes about 90 minutes to beat in one shot on the Rookie setting (with an expanded Veteran mode upon completion offering extra added-on content missions). While many are on foot, you also are gunner in a helicopter, plane, tank, and bomber. Even the on foot mission keep it interesting with jumping on and off large gun turrets between duck and cover gameplay. One part that I didn't care for was the Move gesture based quick time events (QTE's). These were not very responsive and I failed many more than I passed. Some will make you repeat the other stage and others will impose a penalty like damage or being forced to fight off some more enemies before advancing. There is one frequently used gesture with the Move controller pointed straight up that I could not figure out for the life of me. These worked in games like Time Crisis 4 and House of the Dead 4 but they just weren't very well done here. So in summation, you have a very long (by on-rails shooter standards), varied, and unique game that deserves more love than other reviewers gave it (even by professional reviewers on Metacritic who seemed to dismiss it without using the Move controller). Yeah, the story is fluff and forgettable and the QTEs are terrible, but this is an awesome game that should be played if you are a fan of this genre.

It works as expected. You put in the batteries, plug in the USB receiver, cut the controller on, and... ouila! You've got an extra controller for your PS3. Too bad there's no rumble and no six-axis support.

Also, though the HOME button being out-of-the-way (a couple cm under the D-pad) is okay, as I wouldn't want to hit it accidentally, the start and select buttons are a royal pain to deal with (as you have to curl your right thumb back to hit them, usually with a fingernail).

The Rams logo is pretty cool, though.

This has a good grip and its comfortable to use. The things to consider when purchasing this item is the lack of vibration capability and the little small start and select buttons located beside the right joystick. I would instead recommend purchasing the ps3 remote covers for your favorite team which keeps your ps3 remote working with all the features it was meant to have.

I had the Original Force Unleashed when it came out. Beat it and then sold it, never reviewed it. Then, the Ultimate Sith Edition came out and i payed no attention to it. I did not think it was worth the money then. Eventually, few years later.....which brings us to now, i started hearing the call. Then, i decided to get the Ultimate Sith version only to find out i was not able to. I could not find a used copy anywhere, even less find a brand new copy, so i decided to order this new sealed UK edition version of the game.

I was a bit sceptical about this UK import game. Had heard and read a lot of rumors that the UK games would not work in a North American (Canada) PS3 console. Well, let me tell you how it is. The region Free Codes for PS3 games rumors are not rumors. The PS3 games are really working in any PS3 consoles. The Region codes only applies for the Blueray part of the PS3 consoles. So you may have trouble with movies, although i can not testify this as i have not tried it but only got information from the internet. This game works perfectly even if it says the European Code (PAL) in the back of the game box instead of the North American one (NSTC). It came in a regular PS3 game box instead of the bigger Metal Box. Granted, i did not get a collector card or a special booklet like the regular Ultimate Sith Edition which came out in North America. I just got the regular game, booklet and case which is what i preferred anyway.

I will not say much about the game itself as you can go and read the other review already done about this game. However, i will say that this Ultimate Sith edition gives you the Jedi temple, Tattoine, and Hoth levels. Two of these missions extend an alternate history in which Star Killer becomes the new Darth Vader. The Jedi Temple was exclusive to the ps2 version until now. So, how worth while this game is depends. If you've already beaten Force Unleashed, you might consider this game not to be worth it as this is a Star Wars game you can likely beat it in one or two nights if you have nothing better to do. However, the 3 DLC's level add about 3 hours of gameplay. On top of that, if you take the time to find all the unlockables, you should find it worth while. I know i had the orignal game and i am very happy to have gotten this one even if this version of the game is the UK import version. You can only tell the difference by looking at my game box. When you start the game, it is the same as the NSTC version.

As i write this review, i have only played the first level (Vader's level) and the training part of StarKiller before his first mission. I had forgotten how awesome this game was. I had a blast revisiting the wookies homeworld and hurle them down to their doom from the wooden bridges. And what about the choke move from Vader. Just plain awesome. I had forgotten how exciting it was to use the force grip and pick up ennemies or use your Kamehameha move using the Force Push. I don't have the lightning move yet and i already am feeling this game a lot. Now, it has been a while since i played the original game, but i believe the main menus are the same in the Sith Edition as they were in the original except the addition of the DLC's. When you go in the main menu at the start of the game, you have the option of playing the regular game The Force Unleashed or play any of the 3 new DLC's levels which are independent from the main game. The options and everything else looks to be about the same than the original game.

In conclusion, do not be trouble by the fact you may have to order the UK (PAL) version of this game if you live in Canada or the US. It will work just fine and it might just be the only way you will find the Ultimate Sith version of this game new unless you are lucky and find a used copy with Ebgames or online.

Pros

+ Awesome story plot with betrayal and conspiracies delivered with flair and passion.

+ Breath-taking visuals. The graphics are outstanding!

+ Gameplay mechanics are pretty good when using Force powers for the most part.

+ Voice acting is dead on.

+ The fun factor is definately to the roof.

+ I find there is replay value. Always fun to tourment the stormtroopers.

Cons

It can be difficult sometime to lock onto what you want with the Force Grip.

The sound track can be perceived as repetitive, although i don't mind it.

The game is not completely absent of glitches although i found them to be minors.

Can be beaten quickly unless you take your time.

Loading time can take a while sometime, but nothing too serious.

This is a a good quality stick. I like the way it sits on the leg for use on the couch. Good adjustments to get it to fit to your hand size which is important.
