First of all, I'm not a gamer. I haven't owned a console since the Sega Genesis. I bought the PS3 because I wanted Blu-ray but needed protection from the format war. My wife wanted Guitar Hero, so we purchased the PS3. Since I've never played any other version of NFS, I had no opinion of the franchise before making this purchase.

My PS3 came with Motorstorm, and I really enjoyed playing that game. So my wife brought home NFS Pro Street thinking I would enjoy this as well. I played it for about an hour and it sat for the better part of two months before I picked it up again. The reason? It's painfully slow to play and I wasn't up for having to go through the process of tuning.

I rediscovered it a week ago and have given it more of the attention it needs. I have to say that I kind of enjoy the game. The cars are cool, there are a million different combinations of cars and setups to use in different types of racing (grip, drag, and slide). There are different modes for racing and online play is available. You get a lot of game here. There is enough here to keep you busy for quite a while.

Annoyances such as the announcer in career mode, and the slow, redundant processes that take place between the action ruin the experience. The fact that you can't exit a race day until you have dominated it without losing all your progress in that race day confuses me. Some race days have six or seven events. Have trouble with one of them and decide to quit, and you'll have to go through the trouble of going through every race again.

Overall, the game isn't bad. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this one in the bargain bin once GT5 comes out. Until then, if you're a racing fan and the idea of designing your own tuner to race interests you, then give the game a try. Just don't expect perfection.

Instead of improving on a great formula, EA decided to go in a whole new direction by making the latest Need For Speed politically correct. Gone are the races through the city streets and the chases by the police. Instead, what EA has given us is an uninspired track racing game with a racing announcer whose voice and repetitiveness begins to grate on one's nerve like fingernails on a chalkboard. I found myself bored after only an hour of play and eventually lost all interest in playing this game.

Everyone makes mistakes, and EA is no exception. Hopefully they will return to what works and the next Need For Speed installment will make us all forget about the nightmare known as Need For Speed Pro Street.

Buy Need for Speed: Prostreet Now

Need for Speed took a very different direction with this particular installment. There were no police chases, no city streets, and the cover for all of this (that Ryan Cooper is trying to go legit) is rubbed in your face at every race day. Does that make this a terrible game? No! It is however called, "Pro-Street" which should indicate that it isn't about canyon battles, outrunning the police, or re: later in the series going undercover.

The mechanics of the game are fine, so long as you set yourself on King and do not use the assists. This is probably one of the best games to play with a steering wheel and foot pedals as opposed to the controller which can be very trying later in the game. This is a more finesse game than the previous, and it can be incredibly frustrating at first when your stage one car responds exactly like one should. That doesn't take away from the game; it just pisses you off, which should be a motivating factor in a competitive game.

The story isn't really there, but let's face it these games were never huge on plot. They're mostly about fast cars, fast tracks, and hard turns. I loved many of the different events and I enjoyed trying to dominate and squeeze out that slightly higher score to break records on tracks. There were also entire events that I despised and couldn't wait to be through, that made me want to scream and tear out my hair or better yet throw my controller at the television.

In comparison to the other games in the series thus far and those that came after it, this isn't one of the best but it certainly isn't one of the worst. It's a "middle" game and shows that they were attempting to take a more family friendly approach, or possibly got some heat (judging by the disclaimer at the beginning of the game about not street racing) that they were trying to make up for. Still, it's a must have in the series.

Pro: Plays like a car should, they suck at stage one and they're ridiculous at stage three without proper tuning. Great game for a wheel (many games are painful if you use one ala Dirt). Wonderful party game that you can walk away from and check the grill without missing anything.

Con: Poor plot, huge step away from the actual progression of the series, handicaps do more harm than good for new players.

I love this game. The 1/4 & 1/2 mile drags are my favorite. The drifting could've been a little better but overall I'll give it a 9/10. Ridiculous graphics and the damage is actually shown. So it makes you want to drive more clean in order to not have to pay for your repairs....

Want Need for Speed: Prostreet Discount?

Everyone seems to be hating on this new Need For Speed, but I think it's finally evolved into a real game, and I'm glad for it.

Reviewers complain about removing the free-roam segment of the game. Frankly, the free-roam was overrated to begin with. Half the time I just skipped to the events anyway. It also sponsored and glamorized illegal street-racing, and (contrary to the opinions of many of the poseurs that play video games) that's not a good thing. The last thing the streets need are a gang of unskilled, overenthusiastic children behind the wheel of their daddy's car causing accidents. EA probably realized this (thank God) and decided to take a different tack for this edition.

The gameplay itself is great, the drivability of the cars is significantly improved, tuning the car plays a *huge* role in the success of your ride (and the mechanisms for doing so are nicely put together and intuitive to understand). Improving the cars is simplified but thorough and satisfying. Steering and acceleration, all the game mechanics are great and actually better than previous versions. Overall, it's true that this game is more of a simulation than previous versions, but it's definitely *not* a Gran Turismo or a Forza. It's closer to Project Gotham in its pseudo-realism, but still keeps a street edge to it that PG4 hasn't got (and isn't missing cuz it's not that kind of game).

The menu system is a *little* rough I understand what they were attempting, and I'm not sure they fully succeeded, but it's usable.

The graphics are stunning. It's true that the game lost a little bit of the previous versions' sense of speed this time around they decided to take a more 'real' approach to things rather than the pseudo cartoony approach in previous NFS. The fact that you can wreck and wreck badly is a significant improvement over previous versions. Now you gotta be able to drive the car, not just ram through the boards careening off stuff.

Things that disappoint are the lack of tracks and the audio. The lack of tracks isn't *too* terrible a situation, because there's tons of variety within the tracks. Besides, it's a track game. Why bother with lots of crazy cityscapes and whatnot? The audio is unforgivable, though. The announcers are ridiculously annoying. Granted, they're actually somewhat realistic, but holy crap it makes me want to break something after an hour. And they love to say "Ryan Cooper" about 9.6 billion times. Aside from that, in-game audio is good enough with blow-offs and engine noises that are pretty immersive. Surround sound helps this a lot. And like pretty much every EA game, the soundtrack gets repetitive pretty quick.

Among the racers for the PS3, this is the one I'm personally most satisfied with. The next Gran Turismo will no doubt be a gorgeous addition with really good simulator-style gameplay, but I still believe that NFS:ProStreet will be my primary racing game for some time. This game is all about racing, not juvenile drama and getting chased by cops, and it will capture the attention (and appreciation) of most experienced street enthusiasts out there.

I expected a weapons heavy no frills smooth controlling FPS and for the most part that is exactly what this is.

The story is you work for a privately funded militia that sends out lone soldiers to settle battles with small time warlords. The story does expand into the scifi realm but only so far.

The single player campaign clips along as you run headlong solo into all sorts of intense firefights. Switching weapons, reloading, intel pick ups and movement all come very naturally and this is an addictive experience as the levels have tons of routes through them and you will want to best your grade by repeating them in BODYCOUNT mode.

The co-op and multiplayer should play well for those who want to share the mayhem I haven't been able to try them yet however. The game also froze up once during the single player missions, but only once after many hours of play.

For the PS3 there is a tiny install, and the top resolution is 720p, I played the demo on 360 and it looked better but seems to play smoother on the PS3, probably just finished product vs. demo. Lots of fun for the type of player who doesn't want a team slowing you down, and the intel collecting and powerup usage really adds to the level of destruction you can wreck on the environment and enemies, just plain old trigger happy fun with a bunch of detailed and different weapon options. Star off for the forced strafing on zoom mode and the one freeze up.

From out of nowhere comes this FPS.

This is a arcade style shooter. With little storyline and thankfully no cheesy one-liners and cussing.

Graphics:Are well rendered buildings look different and frame rates move nicely along.Enemies all look the same and not much gore.Weapons are well rendered and do various degrees of damage depending on type.Damage and explosions are rendered well.

Sound:Is good with each weapon having it's own sound and explosions are well done.

Gameplay:Very similar to Black with all the "Gun porn".Black had a better story but I only have 4 hrs into the game.

No aiming down the sights you zoom in like in Black. The cover system/lean takes getting used to.But there is no learning curve to this game.Pick your weapons and if it moves kill it.

The shredding system is the best part of the game. You can just about destroy everything in this game.So one should not linger in the same spot for long.

As you kill enemies icons called intel will drop and move to you as you walk by to give you power-ups.which can be a air strike or other things you can unlock. There is really no tactics or realism in this game so that will be a turn off for some.To be blunt, this is a old fashioned shooter.

Dislikes:None so far, will update.

Overall:Fun arcade style shooter that should appeal to casual gamers. Can be repetitive but I enjoy turning my brain off for a while to just blast everything that moves on the map.The guy who thought up Black helped to make this game. This game won't get attention from the main stream game mags.As they have MW/BF fever and are slaves to advertisers.

If you are on the fence, I recommend renting first to see if you like it.Not a bad game and I'm having fun which takes priority for me over graphics etc.

I have poor service in my AO so unable to review online aspects of this game.

Update 9-2-11

Have 6 hours into this game on hard.It is challenging and bosses will give you a run for your money.

I recommend playing on normal or higher so one does not breeze right through.I find the fire fights intense and similar to Black.

Enemy AI can be very dumb sometimes and other times they will try to flank and sneak up on you.

Very refreshing old-school shooter.I really enjoy trashing the map with explosions. Each weapon has it's own unique sound.I played this through my stereo and was shaking the house lol!

This is a fantastic game!! I know it was not well received by the critics, but who listens to critics? I do not!! They give high ratings to junk and hate other shooters that they say cannot compare to Call of Duty or Battlefield!!! Those franchises have been around awhile and have established themselves. So come on!! There is so much to love about this game. The guns, explosions and the destructible environments!! If anyone does not love this game, they need to get their head examined!! I love MW and Battlefield, but love this game equally!!

I was pretty excited about this game when I 1st heard about it and waited anxiously for the price drop, I knew this wasnt a $60.00 game but it still peeked my interest. Its a $20.00 game at best, its def a no-brainer old school shoot'em up game. Graphics are decent, slightly better then PS2, controlls are okay not difficult to pick up, some cool boss fights, its just a cheesy FPS where you go all out and shoot everything that moves. No real strategy or basic brain funcion to play this one, but it does have its upside with the carnage and devastation that you are able to cause.

I bought this cable with the sole purpose of extending the short cable that the Playstation Eye has been designed with. I already own a USB extension cable that I bought from a local electronics store but that cable does not allow the Playstation Eye to connect to the PS3 for some reason. This cable allows the PS3 EYE to connect to the PS3.

Simply put, this cable does what it is supposed to do, but you may not need it. I didn't know until I got the camera, but the stock USB/power cable it comes with, is 6.5 feet long, so before you buy this extension cable, think about your set-up and whether you need "extra" cable. I won't give this product a low score, because it does its job. I failed to research the Eye Camera and its cable length.

If you still want this extension, you can't go wrong at its current price. The cable is well made, but it isn't anything fancy. It's basic plastic shielded, not braided; its connections both male and female nickle/tin plated, but they still work and do their job without any issues. Hope this helps.

I bought this setup as a second racing wheel for my friends and I to do multi-player racing games, which it works great for. But as a great side benefit, it is the only wheel that I have that works for Need For Speed Hot Pursuit(2010) on PS3, making it very valuable. It requires no setting adjustments for NFS HP, but most other games you have to alter the settings before you can use it.

My nephew has been begging for a racing game chair for his birthday and so I searched the internet and electronic stores. Everything either seemed to be made cheaply or cost way too much. I found this chair on Amazon and figured I would give it a try. It is definitely a great buy! The chair is sturdy and I can tell it is not cheaply made. My nephew loves it and its a gift he will be able to keep and play with for a long time.

Let me just say that I loved the idea of this seat, wheel and pedals combo. It all folds into one package for easy carrying and storage, and the wheel is easily removed and reattached. If you're looking for a wheel for kids that can be stored out of the way, this may be for you. If you're looking for a wheel for an adult... pass. This wheel is very budget friendly, and the quality shows. The security clip that keeps the wheel attached comes loose fairly often, so you'll find yourself adjusting it after every other race or so. The pedals are super soft... and of course it's left foot brake only, like a go cart. Kids won't mind this, adults will find it annoying. The seat itself is nothing special. Your butt will hurt after a while, and you will need to place a pillow in the seat for some comfort. Now, I may have gotten a dud, but my wheel started losing connection to the PS3 in the middle of the game after 20 minutes of play. Imagine you're turning and everything is going fine and all of a sudden the wheel stops responding and you hit the wall. I had to hit the PS button to reconnect, but this wasn't an odd occurrence, this was happening every race. So in essence, it was useless. Again, the idea hear is marvelous, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. But for kids, if you get a working example, this may be a very good choice.

The games for the PS3 do not seem to have very many 2 player games that DON'T require internet. Which is one reason I enjoyed this game so much, because it was an actual two player game and both players could play the entire storyline (not just certain chapters like some games that say they are two player). My boyfriend and I loved playing this game. The graphics are pretty good, the storyline isn't bad, even though I would like to skip over the whole 'movie scenes' that they do and get back to the actual game.

Overall, this game is fun and I thought it was worth the money.

Playing this game today makes this seem like old graphics, but at the time these were the new and high end graphics. I love this game so much. The best part is how awesome it is playing the campaign split screen. It says you can play up to 4 players split screen but I only have 3 controllers and it hasn't been working with 3. Maybe you can only play with 1, 2 or 4 players. The game can be kinda challenging, especially at the beginning before you regenerate any health. I wish you didn't have to pick up health but its not so bad. (You pick up health and you also regenerate 1 4th of your health). The chimera are so cool and I have the second game too. I highly recommend this game. I can almost call it a classic but it is still kinda next gen. BUY THIS!

Great design. Well built. Holds the following: Up to 4 pairs of Drumsticks, Microphone, Game Disc, with some spare room left over. Great for travel. I'm a youth pastor, and transport RB2 back and forth to our youth meetings. This is a great way to keep everything in one place while the kids are playing Rock Band. I'd also recommend the guitar cases from MadCatz.

NOTE: This case is not designed to hold a guitar! I'd recommend the Guitar Coffin Case if you're looking to protect your guitar controller. This is just for the sticks, mic, and accessories.

Much better in person! I love the skull & crossbones printed on the outside. This is probably large enough to use as a stick bag for a real drum kit. It is just a bit smaller because of the tapered shape at the bottom.

The zipper pockets are a little small, but the Rock Band and Guitar Hero mics will fit in them. However, the case won't zip closed if I put them both in. This isn't a big deal as I can probably hang it off of the tabs at the top of the kits, but thought I'd mention it.

A great way to keep our cats away from the microphone cord/drumsticks when we're home. Makes it easy to "take the band on the road" too. The only negative I see is that the inside corners of the picket flaps are both semi-permanently bent due to the design of the case, but it's really, really not a big deal. I know what they were thinking with the strings, but I don't think they're needed/work I'll probably cut them off once I confirm that they're as useless as I think they are. Anyways, fun item!

Ive been playing ddr for over 8 years and ive had other ddr mats. I bought two of this "newer" kind at 85 dollars a piece including shipping.

Let me explain how these work: Theres metal tape on the bottom of the arrows and when you press down on the arrows the metal tape activates the circuit pad down under. Also it is important to know that all these pads have a metal frame but inside the frame is wood.

Often over the care and maitenance of these pads youll have to take off the arrows (by unscrewing them) and clean the circuit pad because metal tape will get stuck to it. Also you may have to replace metal tape if the pad lasts long enough.

Now for the design flaws: The arrows are screwed directly into the wood; this means each time you unscrew and screw in the arrows your making the wooden holes weaker!

Second major flaw: The wires of the metal pad run over the frame instead of under. This means every time you press down (on the up arrow) its pressing against the wires this looks like a recipe to disconnect a wire.

So who should get this?

Well, with the cheap plastic / styrofoam pads you can play steps up to about 7(on the 10 step scale) on "hard." and these pads usually last FAR longer than the metal pads.

Get this metal pad if you just HAVE to play over 7 steps and dont have a DDR machine in the arcade. The machines in the arcade are usually about 1 dollar for 3 songs. This means for eqiuvalent use on this pad you have to get about 300 songs worth; this may not seem like alot but these pads go quick on the hard songs.

Im going to keep track of how long these pads last; i bought two. Ill update when they break.

Lastly, I wouldnt pay much more than 100 including shipping on mats like these UNLESS your a very heavy player and you can get a good warrenty. Its more than possible to break one of these pads in a couple days.

*12-10-09 UPDATE*

Well... sad to say the first mat had less than 50 uses on various difficulties before ALL FOUR arrows had some kind of crack in them. And no, I don't wear shoes when using the pad. This isn't a matter of ignorance, its a matter of neglecting quality control. Other metal DDR pads I've owned in the past have never had an arrow crack.

So lets review the cons of owning this pad

-Most distributors sell this pad for well over 100 dollars

-Its screwed into wood therefore making it impossible to replace broken arrows without damaging the pad

-The arrows will be damaged. Fast

Sure, this pad is usable after the arrows crack, but the accuracy is going to be whack which is why most people will buy this to begin with. Most of the pads on amazon at the time of me writing this review are around $150 divide this by 50 uses and your getting a functional use of about 3 dollars per song!

My advice? Get one of the plastic / Styrofoam pads. Their far cheaper, more effective, and last longer. If needed, they can also be modded.

Don't get this piece of junk unless your looking for some eye candy.

Do not buy this dance pad. This is coming from someone who has gone through THREE of these pads. They don't last very long at all and that's unacceptable considering the steep price of this product. The design is VERY poor and cheaply put together.

The worst quality of this pad is definitely the arrow panels. They are plastic and they break very easily, and being used for a game that requires a lot of force and stepping, they should be using something of higher quality besides plastic. Within 2 weeks of use the arrows already begin to crack and gradually get worse from there.

I figured "Well since I just got this a few weeks ago and the arrow panels are already cracking, maybe I can call customer support and have them send me some spare arrow panels to replace the broken ones." Not the case. They told me I'd have to purchase the spare arrow panels at about $20 PER ARROW PANEL!! That's $80 for all 4 arrows...and as I stated they're cheap plastic panels that would just break apart a few weeks later after being replaced. So not only is the pad expensive and a poorly made product, you'd end up spending a ton more money on it just trying to keep it usable.

Another bad quality about the pad is the wiring. The wires are placed directly below the arrow panels so every time you make a step on the dance pad you're putting strain on the wires. After enough strain the wire will cease to work all together making an entire arrow panel unusable. Even if one arrow panel stops working, the pad is no good for this game.

Trust me and invest in a $300 pad, the ones made of pure metal. Those panels aren't cheap and should last MUCH longer.

I'm serious, avoid this pad. You'll regret buying it within a month of buying.

Buy PS3/PS2 Tournament Metal Arcade Dance Pad Now

This is my first metal DDR pad. It was a wonderful step up from the cheap plastic pads. Great sensitivity, very stable. My only problem with this product is that the arrows cracked the second day I had the pad. I'm a excessive DDR player, playing at least an hour and a half a day. I was expecting the arrows to crack at some point, but not two days in. I'm really glad I bought this product. But if you play as much as I do I recommend that you just save up for a full metal pad, so you don't have to deal with cracking.

I have had a lot of frustration with this product up until recently and this is why.

I purchased these Dance Pads believing they would work with the PS3 straight away (due to the title saying PS3/PS2 Dance Mats!) well I can safely say they definitely did not work straight away.

It wasn't until I opened the product did I see that my mats were for the PS2 they could not physically connect to the PS3 at all. So it turns out YOU NEED A PS2 to PS3 DDR Dance Pad Converter in order to play with this product. If you buy this for your PS3 IT IS ABSOLUTELY 100% NECESSARY that you also buy an adapter for each pad you buy.

Once I got it working it was worth it at least! Without the initial hassles I would probably rate this product 5 stars because once they are working they are a lot of fun! The first thing I noticed was the pads size. It is a perfect size. It is actually a bit bigger than most Arcade Versions of DDR, but still small enough not to take up too much space in your house.

The quality of the pads are very good. I was quite cautious to use it at first but I have been dancing on it for hours and its fine so far. Apparently this version of the mat has been tested to withstand enough pressure to ensure they last long.

The pads seem to be very tough and made out of a good quality metal. The bottom is non-slip too for easy use on tiles.

They light up as well which is an added bonus.

One weird thing is that the X and O buttons are on the wrong sides to where they would usually be (in Australia anyway) but that doesn't really matter.

I would definitely recommend buying the pads to enhance your game play experience with DDR!

Want PS3/PS2 Tournament Metal Arcade Dance Pad Discount?

The pad came in wonderful condition. Had to tighten the screws but that's normal. The pad works fantastically; however the back arrow button does feels a little weak but hasn't broken. I have beaten most of my high scores already and can play on Heavy Mode now with ease; where with the dinky little cloth-type pads I could only play a few Heavy songs without sliding all over the place like the floor was coated in grease. I'd certainly recommend this pad to my fellow DDRians. :P Happy dancing to the beat of your favorite song!

Since this is the official replacement Rock Band 2 bass pedal, you would expect it to perform identical to the orignal that came with the Rock Band 2 drum set, and it does.

The pedal can be used as a replacement pedal or as a second pedal with the included double bass adapter. (needs 2AAA batteries, not included) When using the adapter, you plug both bass pedals into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the drum set. There is a selector switch on the adapter that lets you change the compatibility mode (360/PS3/Rock Band/Guitar Hero/etc).

Now, there's a catch to using the adapter, which makes the adapter work much better when drumming but you'll lose a tiny bit of functionality when navigating the song lists. The catch is that the adapter sends a short "on" signal to the drum set telling it that you pressed the pedal down and then turns the signal back to "off". This is great when using two pedals at the same time because it keeps them from interfering with each other when going for those lightning fast bass hits. In essence, you can press one pedal down and keep it down and then press the second bass pedal at the same time and it will still register a bass hit. This is a much better solution that simply using a splitter because when using a splitter, if you hold one pedal down you will get no response from the second bass pedal until you release the first pedal. It's easy to miss notes when using a splitter, but you won't have that problem with this adapter. Without trying to sound cliche, it rocks!

Here's the downside to that catch I was talking about; since it only sends a short "on" signal before turning the pedal back to "off", you can't use the pedal to navigate your song selections table of contents because that requires you to hold the pedal down. (there's a note in the instructions that tell you this also) The only thing the pedal will do when using the adapter is to "page down", which is what it always does when you press it once, with or without the adapter.

To me, it's not a big deal considering I gained a vast improvement in my double bass note hits and completely removed the leg fatigue I'd get when trying to play really fast songs on hard and expert. It does take a little practice to get used to it if you're not used to using both feet, but keep at it and you'll wonder how you managed with only one foot for so long.

I think the adapter alone makes this replacement pedal worth the cost. If you're only playing drums on easy or medium then it may not be worth as much to you because you don't really have any need for fast bass hits. But if you're like me and want to use the regular Rock Band 2 drums with the standard pedal you already have and just add a second pedal to it, this is the cheapest way to go.

So obviously there's other pedal choices out there and the other option you have is to just buy a better replacement after-market pedal. If you broke your first pedal from being too rough on it, you might want to consider this route instead. The quality of some of them is vastly superior to the stock pedal, but remember you're still using one foot in that situation, it's more expensive, and you don't get an adapter. To me, it's just easier to use both feet to get those really fast bass hits. And honestly, since we're just smacking around fake drums anyway, I'll use the method that gets me the best scores, which is two seperate bass pedals. Plus I figured if I buy an expensive pedal I'd still have to use a generic Y-cable splitter if I wanted to use 2 high-end pedals at the same time, which means you still have the limitations I described above.

Sorry for the long winded review, but if you're bothering to read all this in the first place, you're probably seriously considering all your options to improve your game. I think this is a really good option for the money, especially if you already have a working pedal and want to try out double bass pedals. (The splitter sealed the deal for me. It was worth the cost alone.)

It's the same pedal as the original all-plastic pedal, except there is a metal top.

About 7 months after I bought it, cracks formed in the middle of the plastic, under the metal surface. A few weeks later, the cracks became one big crack. It is now 2 plastic pieces held together by one metal plate. For now, it still works as it was when the plastic part wasn't cracked. I don't know if it will get worse over time.

It's the best *regular* replacement Rock Band drum pedal out there, but don't buy it if you need something more durable. There are companies online that make drum pedals that won't break or crack at all. Go to them if need an unbreakable pedal for the game.

So if you're here it means you're looking for one of two things:

1) A replacement pedal for Rock band. In which case, this is an identical product to what comes standard with Rock Band. So rest easy in your purchase.

2) A second kick pedal so you can have a double bass. In which case, look no further. This is the only product available on the market that actually works as a double bass pedal.

Don't be thrown off by the reviews you'll read from people trying to play songs and expert and blaming this product for their score dropping from 3 billion to 1 billion. There is a learning curve for using a double bass, but this product works perfectly. It is also a ton of fun once you learn to use it!

Also, don't be thrown off by any third party products. I tried two different third party pedals from Best Buy, both claiming to work for double bass. I only ended up returning them. This is the only product out there that will actually work. So don't think twice, it's high quality and well worth the money.

Even though the pedal for my RB1 drums snapped, I managed to fix it and ordered this not as a replacement but to use it as double kicks. So to review the pedal itself, well its exactly like the RB1 pedal only reinforced with a metal plate that is actually thicker than it looks. So it works flawlessly as you probably already know. It doesn't get any better than the official one. I'm here to review the adapter that allows for two pedals to work at once without one cancelling the other, like other adapters do.

So.. yeah, it works great, exactly as it should and I'm very very happy with my purchase. The adapter needs batteries which I didn't expect, however it works so good I can't complain. Even though there's (mostly) only one pedal charted, this is excellent for those thougher and faster metal songs. I absolutely recommend it!

I put hundreds of hours into Fifa 12. Several seasons, hundreds of games with my ultimate team, and dozens upon dozens of 1 v 1 local matches against my friend and sworn Fifa rival. Despite its shortcomings, Fifa 12 became one of my favorite games of all time. Fifa 13 does little to change the fundamental mechanics of Fifa 12, rather, small additions, tweaks, and improvements give Fifa 13 a glistening coat of polish and make it an even more realistic, accessible, and satisfying football/soccer experience than ever before.

I'll address the question of whether Fifa 13 merits the $60 price tag, particularly if you already own Fifa 12. There's no clear-cut answer to this question, a number of factors need to be considered: How much do you play Fifa? Do you closely follow current soccer, whether domestic or international? Do you play Ultimate Team? If you are a very casual Fifa player, jumping on every now and then for a quick game or two to get your fix, then there's no rush to buy Fifa 13, as the core game experience is very similar. But if you're more like me, and want the most up-to-date squad rosters, player ratings, Ultimate Team, and most realistic soccer experience available, then certainly the investment in Fifa 13 is justified.

Big new additions to Fifa 13 are as follows: For actual gameplay, the new "first touch" mechanic basically adds more variability to how well players trap the ball. Depending on the position of the player, whether or not they're moving, and their ball control rating, players may trap the ball in a less-than-perfect manner. Dribbling is a little smoother; it still takes a fair bit of practice before you'll be successfully rounding defenders left and right, but it's more accessible than in Fifa 12.

Fifa 13 exhibition matches have a cool new feature called Match Day, where EA updates player ratings on a week-to-week basis to reflect how well the player/team played that week. This feature can be turned off if you'd prefer to simply play with the players as Fifa/EA decided to rate them for this year.

Edited to add: I've had a chance to play a number of online ultimate team matches; online stability/lag appear to be pretty similar to Fifa 12. I have a decent connection, so most of my matches have been pretty smooth. Ultimate Team has received a make-over, with single matches no longer an option, but offline and online "seasons" added, in which there are 5 divisions, and each season you play a set number of games against players in your same division, with the potential of promotion or relegation depending on how many points you can get.

For the sake of keeping this review to a somewhat reasonable length, I'll end by saying that thus far I am extremely satisfied with Fifa 13, and I foresee myself putting hundreds more hours into it over the coming year.

Finally the ghosts of past FIFA's seem to have left with the latest FIFA game. This version makes defending more of an art rather than a complete mashing of the X button. Players get rewarded for positioning their defenders, anticipating passes, and zoning out properly. Conversely offense is now much more rewarding, as it takes a couple good passes to get through a proper defense. This is made much easier by the new crossing types that EA has added to the game. Now you can get that perfect pass through the defense, and get rewarded with an awesome looking goal.

The physics of the game have also greatly improved. The game just feels REAL, which has made each match feel much more unique. The commentary seems to be a bit more dynamic, and is a nice touch for players who like to play many matches in a row.

After playing this game for awhile I can easily say it's my favorite FIFA game, as it's not just a 'roster update', rather a game that makes your FIFA experience much more richer and in turn more enjoyable.

I should be writing a five star review on how incredible this game is with its many play modes, great attention to detail, etc. Unfortunately, my favorite mode in any sports game is the career mode and Fifa Soccer 13 for PS3 locks up more than the Texas prison system. I've had one manager career completely ruined because a lockup occurs after a specific cup match ever single time and the career games which haven't been ruined experience non-fatal but very annoying lockups several times a day. Not worth the price until EA fixes the bugs.
