This game takes place after the first one, and tries to fix some of the issues presented by that game. While it does a fair job with some of them, others are still present. The story is enjoyable, but nothing amazing. And the new approach to level design really did not add much in my opinion. We no longer pick from 3 bots per mission, but are assigned one that is relevant to the story at that point. The level is then designed around a special ability that bot has such as stealth cloak or grapple hook. This is a good idea in theory, but it really was under utilized in the final product. They also decided to create 1 story line instead of 2 in this game. Unlike the first you do not pick to play as autobot or decepticons, but are given story that contains both. The idea was that you would not feel the levels were similar by playing 2 tutorials, 2 end bosses, and so on. However that turns out to be pretty much the case. You will play a stealth level as both sides, you will play a level as a big melee focused brute from both sides. You will play a level as a over powered leader from both sides. While Megatron does feel different from Prime, and the levels have different objectives, they do just feel similar overall to me.

Another issue is performance, mainly the visuals. Compared to the 360 the ps3 game just looks awful. I was amazed at how big of a difference there is. That is not to say the ps3 game looks horrible, just after playing both on the same tv the difference was overly noticeable.

The game is fun, and plays pretty similar to the first one in the series. It has the same loose shooting mechanics, and levels play out similar. If you are not a big transformers fan you may not find this game worth the 60$ price tag though. There are many better shooters, and the multi-player is done much better in other games as well. It has multiple dlc packs out, all are on disc content and cost 10$ and are simply new skins for multi-player.

The game has a enjoyable story, decent mechanics, and big bots blowing stuff up is always a good time. If you are a transformers fan pick it up, if not wait for a price drop.

I love the game, it's much better than the first one. And that's saying quite a lot. Playing as the dinobots is more than gratifying. However, I didn't receive my Bruticus (G2) pre-order bonus (I usually get the bonuses emailed to me before the game even arrives at my house). I contacted Amazon to check in on it. And all they have to tell me is, "We cannot verify that we offered a pre-order bonus for this game". I'll update this in a few days. But it's looking like I got the ol' bait & switch.

If you loved War For Cybertron, you will love this one even more. Everything about this game is better than the first. You get better graphics, better gameplay, and the story is just awesome. It's a short game and I completed it on normal in about 6-7 hours. Some people miss the co-op campaign but I think it was removed for the better. Each character now has a special set of challenges that wouldn't have been possible with co-op. You really do get more diverse gameplay.

The multi-player mode is vastly improved and all the maps are fun. They are not too big but big enough to offer a challenging landscape. With endless customization everyone can have their own unique look. High Moon is going to release a lot of DLC for characters so save up some money if you are into that sort of thing.

The only thing I would say is a downgrade is Escalation. My friend and I loved to play that horde mode and we could play for hours. The new escalation mode is limited to 15 waves, and we beat all those maps the first time we played. The AI is a lot smarter, and now they don't bum rush, but instead they hide behind walls and shoot, or snipe you from a distance. it's definitely a lot harder, and if you play it on hard, it is a challenge. You can now upgrade your weapons and the whole team receives the upgrades, but the level 4 upgrade costs 10,000 points. You can't even get that many points to level up to Lvl 4 until wave 13 of 15. I really hope they unlock the horde mode to unlimited waves.

All in all, this is an awesome game and High Moon did the TF community proud. It's got special touches that many older fans will appreciate. I highly recommend this game.

I don't usually play too many shooter games, but I thoroughly enjoy this game. It might be a tad simple for fps veterans, but for the casual gamer like myself, it's great.

As this is not a review I'll just get to the point. For a transformers fanboy who likes video games, a third person shooter fan or just someone looking for something creative and different away from halo or CoD with great gun play/action-adventure fun with a nice multiplayer ad-on feature and fun action [ multiplayer is great, a leveling system, different classes and so on but dont let this be your reason for purchasing this game as you most likely will be disappointed]. I personally love this game as it had a cool story, nice looking environments, very fun missions and well Optimus Prime! [ Yeah I'm a transformers fan ]. Anyways if you like action or robots, BUY THIS GAME [honestly it doesn't matter to me what you like, I think you should just buy this game, especially if you can get it for $28 dollars like me]

It is a little noisy when it first come on but then no louder than the ps3 fan. Does not fit perfect so you have to play with it to get it just right. It does do a good job of cooling it off.

As the title says.Cooler is crap.Steaming pile of crap might I add.First I had to scotch tape it to the PS3 cause it never sat right in USB port.Kinda slumpped to the side.It actually prevented better airflow than if I had let the PS3 stand alone taking in its own air.It was like administering oxegyn to someone who doesnt need it and then ending up making them lite headed from blocking off thier breathing passages with the hose.Same goes for this.hindered airflow and made PS3 freeze up also usb draws more power from PS3 which causes more heat which causes internal PS3 fans to speedup which causes more heat which causes processor to freeze up.Bad product and no need to get it.I only bought cause I was concerned about my ps3 60 gig from overheating.I actually tossed this POS and bought a small plug in fan from Walgreen's for 4.99 and put that next to PS3 in media cabinet to blow hot air away from the exhaust port of PS3 it works fine no overheats fan is quiet and thats that.

The controller grip that was thrown in was actually awesome.Gave better grip to wireless controller.Doesnt reduce the dual shock capabilities at all and prevents sweaty hand controller slip. The light blue color is great to and helps when scrambling for it in the dark.Fits controller nice and snug so no worry about shifting.

So in closing fans crappy and unneeded dont buy. Controller skin best darn thing I got recommended to anyone who is unhappy with the slippery controllers.

Far Cry 2 is OK. It's nothing to write home about, though.

My issues with the game:

1. Guns Who did the firearm research on this game? Some guns, like the AK-47, are completely mirror image. Some, like the HK G3, are just wrong. (Charging handle and ejection port both on the left side? Not in this reality.)

2. Damage Shooting someone in the chest with 10-20 rounds from the PKM to kill them? Zzzzz.

3. No prone? Come on, is this the 90s?

4. Enemies can see me in the dead of night, and know where I am, even when I am in the bushes and using a silencer. Hmmm...

5. Repetative missions Wow, let's do the same missions over and over and over and over and over...

6. Respawning badguys. Just cleared that guard post? Funny that all the guards are back 3 minutes later...

7. "Most realistic fire ever!" with fire graphics that look completely unrealistic.

Give this property back to Crytech. Ubisoft did a half-baked job at best.

EDIT: Also, the DRM this game installs broke the Burn feature of Windows Media Player on my PC. Buyer Beware.

EDIT 2: SecuRom has a program on their website that will allow you to remove their DRM from your machine. However, it will be reinstalled without warning or notification the very next time you play a game with SecuRom DRM. If like me you have issues with burning CDs after installing one of these game, you pretty much have to uninstall the DRM anytime you want to burn. Convenient, huh?

Id like to preface my review by stating that in no way has my opinion of the game been swayed by the DRM used for piracy protection by Ubisoft. This review is solely in regards to the gameplay itself.

With my pure enjoyment of Far Cry and Crysis, I was extremely excited about the release of this game. Unfortunatly when I began playing the game, I became more and more disappointed as I played. In fact, if it werent for the graphics, this would easily be considered an instant bargin bin title.

I have so many gripes about this game that Im not quite sure where to begin, so I will start with my biggest one... the firefights. You have so much against you from the very beginning that it is extremely difficult to find them enjoyable. In fact you feel as though you are being punished just for taking the mission. Your gun will continuously jam. You have malaria, so in the middle of a gunfight you may need to pop a pill to get over it (everything turns yellow and fuzzy). If your health gets low (and it will... continually from all the sharpshooters they have in Africa) you must first pull the bullet out, then.. you must heal yourself. I must ask... why?? I suppose it was to add tension, but only succedes in being frustrating. You will die often... not because you get overwhealmed by the (incredibly stupid) AI, but because of a gun jam, having to heal yourself with a two step process or because you get a malaria outbreak.

As I get off that rant, I invite you to another. Lets investigate the whole "sandbox, free roam, open world..." direction in which the developers decided to take with this sequel. First off the compass is horrible and the map is even worse. Not because they are a bad concept... they work extremely well in GTA and games of the like. The problem is, your objective is sooooo far away that even when you pull out your map, because it isnt a full map, all you see is the general direction you are supposed to be going and not able to pinpoint the best route to take or where exactly your objective is. This is compounded by the fact that you hit several checkpoints (more on these later) that ensue a "forced" firefight... and I believe I already explained how much fun they are. It will take you at least 10 minutes to get from point A to point B because of this. Rediculous.

Now, remember the checkpoints. These lovely roadblocks are apparently set up by guerillas (no... not gorillas) who attack you when you come close. I guess that makes sense, however, the frustrating part is after you destroy a checkpoint, they respawn so every time you drive by, you get attacked again and again and again. If you try to blast through in your vehicle, a car chase ensues.... sounds like fun right? Wrong, because no matter how fast you are going, they magically appear behind you and if they shoot your vehicle 3 or 4 times, it stalls. And I bet you thought the engine was in the front of the vehicle. So, because of this you end up getting out of your vehicle and... you guessed it, a firefight begins... malaria.... damn... gun jammed... shot need health... pull out the bullet... use medi.... dead.

Finally the vehicles themselves. For some reason, the geniuses at Ubisoft only give a 1st person view of driving... so you try to drive, look at map and compass at the same time and because the vehicle handles so poorly you hit a boulder and the vehicle stalls out, so you get in front of the vehicle and fix it. Get back in and hit a lovely checkpoint further up.

There are several other nuances in the game like no checkpoints... well theres lots of those, but I mean autosave points... so hit F5 ALOT or your 10 minute trip from point A to point B can take you 30 minutes. There isnt really much of a story here to be found either, so you really just find yourself doing side missions... even the main missions seem like side missions which dont give you much of a feeling of accomplishment.

I realize I have been on quite a rant, and most of my reviews are not as negative or sarcastic as this. As a matter a fact I dont think I have given a single star review to anything before... but this game definitly deserves it. As I attempt to leave with a positive remark, I am at a loss. I could mention the graphics, however theyre really not better than the original Far Cry... and I can max them out on my machine.

I was extremely disappointed and feel my $60 was just wasted. Ive played the game for about 11 hours, and cannot bring myself to finish it... and thats an extreme rarity for me. With all the great games coming out this year, spend your money on something else.

Clearly the game was designed for the console market with PC as an afterthought during development. Although there are some interesting aspects, it ultimately is just a boring game on the PC platform with minimal replay value. Games are judged relative to the alternatives available for that platform. In the PC area it falls down hard.

Start with the aspect ratios the game screens take are very TV/Console rather than PC monitor oriented.

There is no back-story and no reason for me to care why my character succeeds or fails. I care as much about him as he does about his employers.

My character is more durable than his weapons. So while he can pull bullets out of his body with his teeth and repair almost any device, he is incompetent when it comes to cleaning, repairing and maintaining the tools of his trade his weapons.

Ubisoft's rationale for no predators is that it would upset the ecosystem. Lame excuse -More likely either cost or time reduction in coding. Adding animal threats as NPCs who only respond to specific classes of players or NPCs within a certain radius is fairly simple to do and would improve the game play value.

The damage model needs refinement. My character has terminated NPCs at 15 yards with a single spray from the shotgun and yet 5 or 6 center mass shots with an AK-47 (whose ammo is rifle loads, not pistol loads like a submachine gun) at the same distance doesn't even knock the NPCs down. At close quarters scattershot can be the uber-weapon, but over distance it's gonna be a lot less lethal.

I can't tell if the endless slogging through the veldt is a cover for weak AI coding, a way to extend the "playing" time of the game or an infomercial from Ubisoft aimed at marketing their Dunia engine to other developers by demonstrating the effects you can create. For me, it quickly became downright annoying.

Not much to say about DRM that hasn't already been said. Their EULA is very specific. Ubisoft will install DRM code on your PC. They will require you to register it online. They will require the CD to be in the machine. They own the software and they are not accountable for any problems any of this cause for you. Your rights are 100% subordinate to theirs. If you don't like that you must send it back to them before you perform any activations. About the only thing you don't have to do is send them a copy of your driver's license and a DNA sample. But stay tuned...

Since software DRM is totally ineffective against pirates I can only assume that the ultimate objective of excessive DRM is to kill the PC game market and drive everyone to consoles. It makes good business sense as it's easier and cheaper to develop games for consoles and no PC games means one less SKU to stock and track.

Bottom line...It may do okay as a console game given its competition on those platforms, but as a PC game, it's just too boring and console-centric to be worth buying. If you are really curious about a game based in what was a very promising location, wait a couple of months and pick it up for $9.99 in a jewel case.

Before the release of Far Cry 2 the game was being hyped as a new generation of First Person Shooter--one to set a new bar.

What they showed us was footage of combat surgery, fire propagation, stealth gameplay, mercenary buddies, and a vast sandbox.

What we hoped for was a First Person Shooter that would have all of those things finely tuned and greatly expanded upon, immersing us in a world where guns for hire and arms dealers were partners in a civil war.

What we got was exactly what they showed... EXACTLY what they showed. The combat surgery is just for show. The fire propagation dies so very quickly so that it seems more like a fireworks display rather than a true wildfire. The stealth gameplay fails more often than not leading you right back to the run and gun style of play First Person Shooters are infamous for. The mercenary buddies are nothing more than strangers giving you second chances, as well as a means to give you a side-mission whilst doing a mission. And the sandbox is just littered with no-name faces just wandering around, waiting to shoot you on sight--that is to say that they show absolutely no intelligence and are far too plentiful. Let's not forget that the game is very rough around the edges and needs some serious patching.

It's as if they half-made a game, ran out of time, dumbed it all down, stitched the little bits and pieces together, threw in a story, and made three large maps for it. The game is overly easy and is only made difficult by beefing up foes so that they take more shots to kill. And the hardest part about the game is staying interested enough to play smart, and not simply plow your technicle into the middle of an enemy camp just so you can feel a little more excitement.

The only saving grace is the hope that maybe, JUST MAYBE, the modding community can modify the game to be what it ought to be. But as it is right now, there is now SDK for them to work with, so they will have to rough it out on their own until one is released, if ever one is. On the bright side, the STALKER modding community has done wonders for that game even without an SDK, so here's hoping.

Until then, I'm shelving my copy, and warn any prospective buyers to wait for the price to drop before you bother picking it up.

Given the many bad reviews, I was very hesitant to buy..

The reviewers could not have been more wrong. It is an AWESOME game.

A classic example of a great game which was misunderstood by most gamers.

As mentioned in most reviews, the map is huge and you have to travel all over to complete missions. It seems MOST of the negative reviews fail to understand the PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION system in the game. There are BUS STOPS clearly marked on the map -one at the four corners of the map, and one in dead center. Dead center is your home base. The four corners are where most missions will occur.

So...after accepting a mission, go to the bus stop, board the bus for your destination, and in an instant you are transported to that corner of the map. Time of day has changed (dusk, midnite, early dawn, etc.) to imply it was a LONG bus journey... There is always a vehicle waiting for you outside. And usually, there is a weapons shop nearby (in case you want to change your weapons or ammo.)

I think 99% of negative reviewers FAILED TO UNDERSTAND this concept. (If you don't take the bus, YES it will be slow/frustrating to cross the map). There are enemy outposts and armed checkpoints along the roads, which are also patrolled by armed jeeps. If you insist on driving instead of taking the bus -YES the game seems slow, frustrating, and impossible...

The game developers should have made this point clearer (it is not explained in the game manual). But if you play the game as intended, WOW....it is a great experience.

Tips:

1. Take the bus.

2. Even when driving, try to stay off-road as much as possible to avoid confrontations.

3. Don't be afraid to abandon your vehicle and go on foot. Eventually you'll find another vehicle.

4. Take the time to experiment w/ the display. May take a long time depending on your PC/graphics card, but is worth it.

5. Chose a lower resolution if necessary. I play 800x600, maxed out. If you don't play maxed-out, you are not just missing out on eye-candy. You are getting a much poorer quality experience.

6. Try turning "shadows" down. Moving/morphing shadows are PC-intensive. Turn shadows down, and max everything else.

6. Choose "realistic" setting, and play w/ your on-screen crosshairs turned off. Much harder.

7. Limit yourself to missions from the 2 rival factions -this will progress the game story as intended.

8. Avoid random side missions, these get repetitive and don't advance the story line.

PROS:

Great single-player experience.

Totally unscripted, non-linear gameplay. Great voice-acting. (Enemy dialogue can be hilarious and suspenseful).

Very smart AI..the more you play, the more you will appreciate it. (AI can be down, wounded, bleeding, but still try to squeeze off a few rounds as he's dying.)

Huge map, amazing environment, changing weather conditions/time-of-day.

Great in-game tension and stealth gameplay. (some of the best scenarios are after taking out a target and trying to make it home while low on ammo.

Stunningly beautiful, at max settings.

NO ALIENS OR MUTANTS! :)

CONS:

Lack of direction from developers. Failure to utilize the "BUS" concept will result in frustrating, repetitive experience.

Endless choice of side missions will fail to advance the storyline and can seem pointless.

Fans of pure run/gun shooters will be frustrated by the need to for strategy, planning, and stealth.

OVERALL: Great game. In terms of single-player, non-linear, non-team based combat, voice-acting, intelligent AI, game length, replay value, and game environment, this game might sit alone at the top. It's too bad most people didn't figure it out and gave such BAD reviews! Buy it and try it!

newsflash:Theres no possible way this game could help you learn the guitar! I had high hopes that it would. I dont know what the point of using a real guitar with strings is, if they are just going to copy guitar hero play format. If you dont already know , heres the facts: this game doesnt teach you anything about chords or how to play a guitar. It is basically a clone of guitar here. All it does is convert a real string guitar into a 5 button guitar hero guitar controller. You press down on the string as if it were a button, e.g. a one inch wide section is for the "green button" and another one for the "red button" and etc. The game even tells you that if the strings break its ok cuz you only need one string to play this game! wow I was so surprised. I really dont care if its a real guitar, cuz if I cant play it as a real guitar INSIDE of THE GAME then its useless to me(since I cant play it anyway).

also the main deal breaker was the crummy drums. The sensors simply stink. I dont know if mine were defective but I doubt it, i think the design just stinks. THey can detect the drum sticks about 60% of the time!!! ! why would you want to play a drum game with intermittent detection abilitys! o and By the way the drum base AND the sticks all need batteries. you have to unscrew the battery door to put em in, kind of annoying. ANd theres no way to turn anything offi guess it turns itself off EVENTALLY, i think it takes about 15 minutes or so. Why would you want to let it drain power from the batteries all that time(they need on/off buttons on this stuff!) ANyway the main point is the sensors just stink and they dont know when you are drumming. Plus its really more fun to hit the drums anyway.its really just not fun to air drum. maybe if they made this have sensors on the drum pads TOO, so it could detect it both ways, and you could hit it to make it work as well, it might be good then. I dont know if they were trying to eliminate noise or what, but the fact is little kids are going to hit the dang drum ANYWAY. it doesnt matter if they need to or are supposed to or not, they will still do it. Since it doesnt know when its getting hit it seems to make it even less accurate if you do end up hitting it (physically).

yah anyway id stay away frmo this little prototype of a game design until they figure out what they are trying to do. if they want to use a string guitar then they need to write some software that can teach and recognize real guitar chords in the game! otherwise ill just stick with guitar hero and button controllers! if they want to use sensors for drumming they better put alot more of them so its 100% accurate! otherwise my rock band drums are much more fun.

stay away from getting this, and just pray that they can improve the design in the future.

*please programmers, design a way to play this game using real guitar chords and real playing motions, and let us actually be able to learn to play the guitar with this kit.*

Buy Power Gig: Rise of the SixString Band Bundle Now

I know: Power Gig has been out for months. It was skewered by critics. It was bought by no one (hilariously, on YourGamerCards, a site used to track trophies, only 260 people have played this game, and only 6 have platted it).

BUT, it is now forty bucks at Gamestop, for the full band set. "What the heck?", I thought, and picked it up yesterday. And in the end, it's not the worst game I've ever played, but it's definitely the worst music game I've played, and it's not really that fun in the end.

THE GOOD:

Well, all games have something good about them, but I struggle to find it here. If I had to pick, I would say that it is minutely fun to sing along to the songs.

THE BAD:

-PERIPHERALS

No, I'm not talking about the quality of the peripherals. Actually, I don't think they're that bad, for something that I picked up for forty bucks. The guitar isn't going to win a beauty contest, but it does play. The AirStrike drums are silly, but the sensors do work (despite reports to the contrary in fact, they work a little TOO well for my liking). The microphone is a microphone.

So, what's the problem? Let's start with the guitar. Look, I like that your game has a real guitar. How about really using the guitar? The fact is, you still play it, in the vast majority of the songs, like a GH/RB guitar. However, it's more problematic, as the frets are not very responsive to touch (unlike, e.g., the fret buttons on a GH guitar). It really busts your fingers, but you get no real reward from it.

The drums are a joke. It took me almost an hour to realize that I needed to put batteries into the drum sticks themselves (2 AA each, no less). The problem? You have to unscrew the back of the stick! Who thought of such a stupid idea? Moreover, when you put the batteries in, you can't put the back of the stick in place again it won't fit without a major struggle.

The gameplay with the drums consists of you swinging them over sensors (DON'T HIT THE PADS!, or so they say). Whose bright idea was this? You know what's fun when you play drums? Hitting the drum. You play air drums when...you don't have a drum to hit. Otherwise, you smack a desk, the wall, etc. Why in the sam hell would I want to just swing at air? Come on for a game that had a major campaign touting its realism (for a laugh, go and read some of the hilarious interviews with celebrity chumps that backed this game), this is just a joke.

Like I said, I find that the sensors work TOO well. Often, I will register two swings when I've only swung once. Occasionally, the note will drop as well, although most of this time, this was my fault. But it makes the drums almost unplayable. I would advise using the plastic guitar for GH for this game. I've even heard that the drums work as well, although the color coding will mess you up. The microphone seems to work fine.

-GAME AESTHETIC

The game looks and feels ugly. The graphics are just horrible. The deformed characters (there are only six total, and you can only choose from two on each instrument) look ridiculous. The story (involving some evil guy called Headliner who took all the mojo away from a world I kid thee not) is almost corny enough to be funny, except for the strange voiceover you'll hear 1000x as you play: "Headliner: I call him Captain Braindead!". Every time you load up, you'll hear this. It's not funny or clever, and after 3 times, you already want to turn the volume down.

For some reason, the single player modes are shoved to one side of the screen. The drums are on the left. The guitar is on the right. I can understand this for 3-player mode, but why no use the full screen for SP?

The structure of the game even manages to be confusing and awkward. You are supposed to choose certain songs based on a symbol next to them. The symbol changes over time, and as there are 4 symbols (and more are added later), this ensures that you are constantly searching for these silly rune-like marks. Was it really necessary? Is there any reason not to have standard gigs with set songs, or at the very least, gigs where you choose to play what you want from a given list?

The overall single player mode can be finished in a night if you exploit these symbols correctly (a long night it's about 60 songs or so).

-GAMEPLAY

What a mess. The game attempts to distinguish between two types of note hit. If you hit a note in perfect time (a "perfect" hit), you get a lot of points, and if you hit a note slightly off (a "good" hit), you get less points. In order to build your multiplier, you must hit consecutive "perfect" notes. Taken by itself, this isn't the worst idea ever. The problem is that it requires a herculean effort to calibrate your system. Even when you do, sometimes the game just...skips. A note will discretely move from above the strike zone to below it, because the game gets hung up. If this happens, it doesn't matter if you hit the note properly you always miss it. This is a fatal flaw in such a system.

Like I said, the drums are notorious for adding/dropping strikes. I find them nearly unplayable.

The microphone works pretty well, although I have never been able to calibrate it perfectly. I always find that I have to start a note a little early in order to get a perfect setting, which creates a strange echo between the TV and me (you will hear your voice prominently on the television.

-TROPHIES

They are a joke. While some of them require multiple players, none of them require even one iota of skill. Every trophy except for one can be obtained on the lowest difficulty. This is probably good, since hard trophies would be brutal, given the limitations of gameplay.

FINAL REVIEW:

I can't recommend this game to anyone. I gave it two stars in the fun category because I am a sucker for music games, but this game is really bad. I might say it's good for little kids, but the guitar is pretty heavy, and the drums will be broken in a week (kids like hitting drums, too). Some of the songs are catchy, but overall, the music selection is lackluster (you may know some of the bands, but you'll know few of the songs). The Black Sabbath song, in particular, is laughably bad. The lousy guitar might make it worthwhile (you can probably plug it into Rocksmith, although I don't know), but even for forth bucks, you'll be straining to believe you got your money's worth.

Game was terrible! But I mainly bought it for the horrible guitar, just cause it works for guitar hero and rock band and I wasn't going to pay 100 dollars for a guitar controller... And since I've been playing guitar for a few years now I will even review the guitar, guitar is really cheap, the mute untunes it so if you plan on using it with a amp that is a problem... And the frets on this are absolutely horrid I've seen better quality feet on toys! And the air strike drumset has tons of issues... 4 stars just cause the great service, I knew the game was garbage, that's why it's less then 1/4 of its price when it was released, not a bad price for something if you want a couple hours of entertainment but don't expect it to last long

LIMITED EDITION:

I was expecting a lot more out of this Limited Edition. The Artbook is something only a little bit better quality than the Metal Gear Solid 4 artbook I got for free from reserving MGS4 from Gamestop so many years ago (Same quality you'd find in a $15 strategy guide, a lot less pages though). Then the CD is just...I wouldn't call it horrible, but it's pretty bad. I was hoping to get the theme songs from both games, but it only seems to feature a remixed version of one of them and then everything else on it isn't worth listening to. Its sad when this game features one of the best, and possibly eeriest, soundtracks of the PS2 age. I would have appreciated it a little more if the game package was different than the regular retail also.

I originally bought this being a Zone of the Enders fan, and seeing how it was nearly over $100 for the Limited Edition in Japan with the same content. I feel ripped off, but they must have felt even worse. (I know at least one review on Amazon Japan criticized how we got such a better deal, if you want to call even what we got a deal)

ZONE OF THE ENDERS:

The game itself is good. Just made my way through the first one without any "glitches". I read other reviews and they seemed to be under the impression of glitches, which I haven't encountered, if they even exist. The game looks very bright and crisp (a little boxy though), but I do feel a little unsatisfied with the cutscenes which weren't redone. They had the time to get Sunrise to animate a new 6 minute opening for the game (which I feel wasn't necessary), but they couldn't touch up the now very poor looking cutscenes in the first Zone of the Enders (which all cutscenes in total might be only 20 minutes long). They could've; just redone them in HD, start from scratch and recreate HD cutscenes, or have a studio animate them in the same style as ANUBIS/2nd Runner, but instead they left them as is.

2ND RUNNER:

Thankfully, the cutscenes (non Anime) in 2nd Runner are redone in HD and 2nd Runner looks and plays beautifully in HD. I forgot how much faster Jehuty and the gameplay over ZOE.

THE CONTENT:

Content wise the game is also lacking, it's barebones. ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection featured interviews, tech demos, and making ofs, this just has the two games and the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo.

METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE DEMO:

I will say, the demo changed my general interest in MGRising into a want for the game, so it's worth checking out. The demo installs from the disc but requires the ZOE HD Collection game disc to be in the system to play, so you can't just borrow the ZOE Collection and install the demo to your HDD if you want to get just the demo.

CONCLUSION:

If you haven't played any of the ZOE games, you should check this out, definitely starting with the first. It may not be as good as 2nd Runner, but the final climax in the first ZOE will make you appreciate what you achieve in 2nd Runner a lot more. (and the first game is only about 4 hours long)

This version came out gimped, but a recent patch fixed all it's problems and made it glorious. Frame rate was fixed, speed was fixed and now it really is the amazing ZoE 2 in HD as promised. Yeah, ZoE 1 is there too, if you must know. Also, the artbook is cool, the packaging is collectors-worthy. Soundtrack is a nice touch.

Having played through ZOE one, and currently playing ZOE 2 I am very surprised to find that this game slows down quite a bit during intense fighting sessions. It is apparent that High Voltage games did not capitalize on the opportunity to give themselves a good name by giving us a good HD transfer. I still love these two games, and I am still having fun playing them, but it just seems like a wasted opportunity. The cut scenes in ZOE 1 look pretty bad. The Anime scenes in ZOE 2 look pretty good.

The Special Edition is worth the extra 20 bucks, if you're into art books and dub step style music. I personally love both these things, so I really got my money's worth. The art book is fantastic, and the CD has 8 tracks remixed. All 8 songs are pretty dub step like, with loud bass, and very fun build-up followed by some intense drops.

The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo is VERY fun, but short. It is a difficult game, but with enough practice, I'm sure I'll get better at it. I have, thankfully, not experienced any of the bugs that have been reported in the PS3 version of this demo.

All in all, I think the 60 price tag is ok for this special edition. I am kind of sad that this transfer was not handled with the same seriousness as the MGS HD collection. Here's hoping they can patch this beast.

With the latest Patch made by HexaDrive, the ps3 version of Zone of the Enders the Second Runner has become the best version of the game, above all others including the original PS2 version of the game, a lot of things where fixed, the cutscenes were improved, the frame rate is at a steady 60 frames per second, (even when anubis makes his burst attack wich lowered the framerate even in the PS2 version). the first zone of the enders game was untouched by the patch but it didnt have much problems at all, and it is totally playable.

I recently received my HORI PS3 Soulcaibur V Arcade stick and the only complaint I have is the USB cable is shorter than I expected. The cable is shorter than a HRAP and a Madcatz TE stick, so I had to purchase an extension cable to sit comfortably from the television. My futon is around eight feet from the television, so plan accordingly.

Other than the short cord, I have no complaints. The construction is sturdy and the joystick and buttons are all confirmed Sanwa. (I opened the panel and all the buttons are quick disconnects and the wiring is done well with no bunches of cables or loose wires.) The panel is easily accessible much like the TE sticks, with only a hex key needed.

I love the artwork on the panel and have no intentions of changing it. The stick looks absolutely gorgeous though it is prone to finger prints, but that's certainly not abnormal.

The stick does include a compartment to tuck the cable away, and also two ports for keyboard support and headphone support. It's also slightly larger than the TE stick.

I'm impressed. I haven't purchased a HORI stick since the HRAP came out and I'm loving the size and quality of this stick more, especially the Sanwa buttons. The black casing with the red plunger was a nice choice for this stick.

I recently bought this arcade stick on another major online retailer when it was still at the promotional sale price. I have been playing Street Fighter X Tekken with it for about two weeks. The stick and the buttons are very responsive. I can pull off shoryuken easily. I haven't played Street Fighter for a long time. The last Street Fighter game that I played was Street Fighter II. I played some in arcades and I played some on SNES. I was never good at it. After 20 years of playing RPGs, I decided to play the fighting games again. And the first one that I wanted to play is SFxT. This time, I want to get serious. I want to do those crazy combos and I want to play online competitively. That's why I decided to get an arcade stick. Because I think the right way to play a fighting game is playing it on an arcade stick.

I have done a lot of research before purchasing this arcade stick. Not sure if I should shell out $100+ for a peripheral just to play the game, I was originally looking for cheaper joysticks like NEW PS2 PS3 PC USB Universal Arcade Fighting Stick (Joystick / Joy Stick) or Playtech Pro Arcade Fighting Stick for Sony PS3 PC PS2. But the ratings and reviews for these cheaper sticks are generally bad. I have heard that the better entry level arcade sticks are PlayStation 3 WWE All Stars Brawl Stick and Xbox360 Fighting Stick EX 2. But if you can pay roughly $60-$80 to get a mid-level arcade stick, why not wait for a price drop of a top-level arcade stick at roughly $100? Usually, when there is a major tournament going on, Hori and Mad Catz would do a promotional sale for their arcade sticks. This Hori Soulcalibur V Arcade Stick is exactly the same as HORI PS3 Dead or Alive 5 Arcade Stick and HORI PS3 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Arcade Stick except for the art work.

For the arcade stick itself, it is a top-level arcade stick. The stick lever and the buttons are all Sanwa parts. They are loose and sensitive. It is built for competitive play for a long period of time. It is big and sturdy. There are some buttons configuration and turbo features on top of the left hand side. There are two USB ports in the front for headset and keyboard. The restrictor gate of this arcade stick is a square gate. Most of the Hori and Mad Catz arcade sticks have square gate at stock. Like I said, this is my first arcade stick, so I cannot compare it to other sticks. However, from my reseach, this stick is a tournament level, high-quality stick. It is comparable to Mad Catz SoulCalibur V Arcade FightStick SOUL Edition for Playstation 3. Notice that for both of these SoulCalibur V arcade sticks, both companies are using a new "Namco Noir Layout." This layout is different from the Vewlix layout that both companies have been using on their arcade sticks, like HORI Playstation 3 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Arcade Stick, Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick PRO Line for Playstation 3 or Mad Catz Major League Gaming Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition for Playstation 3. All of these arcade sticks are high-end products and you cannot go wrong with any of them. Many people complain about the placement of the "Start" button on the Hori Real Arcade Pro (HRAP) series arcade sticks. Their newly designed arcade stick has a feature that the "Start" button can be covered.

All in all, this is a high-quality arcade stick. I give it 5 stars. Playing a fighting game with an arcade stick is totally different from using a pad. You need to learn how to hold the stick lever and how to use your index, middle and ring fingers to hit the buttons instead of your thumb. It just adds that much fun on playing the game. One little complaint is that the cord that connects the arcade stick to the PS3 is only 9.8 feet. If you want to sit farther than that, you need an extension cable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Full Sanwa parts in an attractive high quality cabinet, not much else to say really. So I'll just mention some nitpicks and let you guys decide if this is the box with the Sanwa parts you're after.

* Cable is on the short side at about 10 feet it is just a hair too short to use on the big TV with an extension cable. (Fortunately, those are very cheap online).

* Edges of cabinet are not beveled. would have made the stick a tad more comfortable. (Edit: Rounded so not sharp but just not beveled like the pro stick.)

* Sliding panel to cover the start button. Awesome feature that prevents inadvertent press during play. Just remember to flip that lid down.

* Soul Calibur V graphics are nicely done in my opinion.

* 2 Front facing USB ports for headset and keyboard and a cable storage compartment.

* Comes with the standard assignable turbo bells and whistles.

In summary this a great stick that has it where is counts. The little details are what will decide this for you.

Note: For users not familiar with arcade fight sticks, this stick comes with 8 buttons for games that are arcade configured for 8 but is compatible with games that are arcade configured for 6 like Street Fighter.

Of course like everyone now it comes with the sanwa parts and sanwa stick. its bigger and nicer than it looks. very sturdy stick. i love the start button compartment. overall get this over mad catz because the mad cats sticks pcb is not as good as the hori one.

I've owned a few arcade sticks over the years, with most of them being the MadCatz TE sticks that have been released since Street Fighter IV. I've been fairly happy with them, but always wanted to try a Hori stick out since they tend to be placed higher on the stick food chain than MadCatz. I'm happy to say that this SCV stick by Hori is excellent and very much worth your money if you're serious about fighting games, or just can't stand the horrible broken-up d-pad on the Dual Shock controller (seriously Sony, FIX THIS!). At the same time, if you're used to the MadCatz fightsticks, making the switch to this one might take a little time to get used to since the button layout is angled differently, as you can see in my customer image above.

The first thing I noticed about this stick was just how much empty space there is on the bottom. This was a turn off at first, since I usually play with my legs crossed and the arcade stick sitting in my lap, so I didn't like having the extra space of nothing. Again, this has to do with the transition from the standard MadCatz TE stick to this new model, which is a completely new model by Hori. All of the buttons work perfectly and are responsive, as is the joystick. It makes the same clicking sound to confirm the direction of movement, and it uses a square gate. A lot of people prefer octagon gates, but I honestly have no trouble pulling off 360° or 720° motions with the square gate. In fact, it's ridiculously simple and I have a much easier time doing them on here than I do with a Dual Shock controller. All the turbo features are at the top, just like a MadCatz stick's, and work as they should. The Select, Home and L3/R3 buttons are here as well. I really liked that they have the L3/R3 buttons on here, as the majority of arcade sticks out there for the ps3 don't. While these controllers may be primarily used for fighting games, they work with -anygame that doesn't require analog control. Want to play an old fashioned arcade shooter that might need the L3/R3 buttons? Go for it! Want to finally obliterate everything in your path with the help of a Turbo button? You got it!

Another very cool addition is the port for a USB keyboard, and the port for a headset located on the front of the base. It makes sending a message to a friend much simpler with this feature. And of course, there's the infamous shielded Start button. While I get what it's used for, I think it's kind of stupid. There's a shield that can be put over the button so you don't 'accidentally' hit it during a match? How would you even accidentally hit that unless you're mashing like crazy and slamming your open hand over the entire area of the stick? Well, it's there if you need it, and is a cinch to open and close. As for the USB cable that stores in the back of the stick, it's thinner than that of the MadCatz TE's, and is just the right length as well.

As an arcade stick, there's nothing bad I can say about this SoulCalibur V model. It works like any arcade stick should, especially in this price range. But there are still a few things I don't like about the design. First off being that since this is an entirely new model, there's no way to simply order a plexiglass plate to have custom artwork at the moment. That shielded Start button is to thank for this. But I'm sure someone is working on it right now. The other thing has to do with comfort, but this is just me and might not apply for you. Since I play with the stick in my lap, the handles on the bottom of this thing can get uncomfortable after about 30 minutes of playtime. If you play standing up or with the stick on a table, then this shouldn't be a problem. The last thing is just a cosmetic issue, and it's that the face of the stick with the artwork is easily scratched.

If you already have a good Fightstick, I'd suggest keeping it unless you really like SoulCalibur V, or unless you can get a good deal on this one. It's not bad at all, but I'm happy with the TE series. Maybe I'll give one of those Real Arcade Pro sticks a shot somewhere down the road.

Charges my PS3 controllers just like I'd expect.

It's a nice cable to have for when one of your controllers is dying while you're in the middle of a game. The 10' length is perfect for my gaming setup and lets me charge and play at the same time. I'm not sure why Sony doesn't ship the PS3 with 10' cables.... The short ones make no sense for a gaming system.

This is my 4th TB headset. In the past I had the X4, the X41, and the recent PX5. People I know love when I get a new one as I usually pass these down to others for a small price.

Sound quality is just as good as with the X41 and PX5. This headset does feel much lighter and like the others, it fits my big head just fine. I really do have a large head and finding things that fit properly can be challenging.

If you never owned any headset of any quality, then you do not know what you are missing out on. The ability to hear where sound is coming from and the distance it is away from you is a game changer. Just the fact you can listen at a volume you desire without anyone else in your home hearing it is even more valuable.

The MW3 theme is nice, but it is just aesthetics and obviously does not affect quality one way or the other. The entire setup does look nice though.

Unfortunately TB still uses the same technique to handle the wireless communication from the base to the headset. If you have a wireless network at home and operate that on the 2.4 frequency, then expect interference if you sit near your wireless router or if you are in the path devices communicating with your wireless device. I wish you could force a channel on the TB to help, but that cannot be done.

The new addition to this headset is the wireless chat on the Xbox 360 using the included BT puck that connects to the controller. Setup to make this work was not all that difficult, but could have been slightly easier. The major item they are missing with this is the ability to mute your mic from the puck. As far as I can tell, that can only be done via the button on the headset. All buttons on the headset are rather small and you have to "feel" for them. So muting your mic quickly is a challenge.

Overall another nice headset from Turtle Beach. These are rather expensive and like I said, the same quality of sound as the PX5 and the X41, so not much need to upgrade it unless you want the wireless chat. If you do not own any TB headset yet, you would be happy with any of the models I mention.

What can I say ? Turtle Beach does make some pretty phenomenal products! I've owned the X41 for a while now it's all I use to play my XBOX, period! Once you pick up a TB headset, you'll never want to use your tv or entertainment center speakers ever again!

Some big improvements for me:

Wireless chat I tend to get into the game .. now I don't have to worry about yanking out my chat cord

Light ... They've always been light, but when you're wearing them for an hour .. heck maybe 2 .. the lighter the better

Aesthetics ... I'm a big fan of dark colors, gloss black ... the MW3 aesthetics are pretty sweet, doesn't do anything for the headset but definitely makes it a nice purchase

Be careful of some reviewers out there I've noticed some bashing the product simply because it has MW3 on the side, this is the same headset as their XP500 just with MW3 graphics. Same exact quality etc.

I own several headset (commercially and in aviation) sound is important, clear sound is extremely important. The Turtle Beach comes through all the way around!

What is yet to be seen is how well the preset's actually work.

Update 11/20/11:

I was having some insane problems with the headset "gaining" out. Basically with loud successive noises the headset would blank out, like it was trying to catch. Think RF interference times 100. I worked with Turtle Beach for about 2 weeks before it was decided it was defective. Quick exchange/replacement with Amazon and my new one is working as it should ... Turtle Beach's FAQ and support is pretty extensive, but if you're working with a live person (e-mail only) make sure you're staying on top of them to get you answers.

This is a good headset but you can get the exact same headphones without the Modern Warfare branding on it for $269.95. (Look up XP500) or $212.99 if you don't need the bluetooth adapter for the Xbox 360 (Look up Ear Force PX5). If you do want the adapter, Turtle Beach sells it for $39.25 including shipping from ther website. Both of these options will get you nearly the same headset for $30 less.

First if all I would like to say that you can get this headset cheaper without the MW3 theme on them. I think they are about $60 less on amazon for the non MW3 version. That said, you aren't buying these to save money. You are getting these for the awesomeness that Turtle Beach puts into every headset AND The SUPER COOL MW3 THEME. I'm a big MW fan and when I saw these I knew I would love to replace my current Turtle Beach headset with these. It was difficult for me to justify the price, but I was able to in the end.

The sound quality is awesome. I love being and to hear not just left and right, but front left and right along with back left and right. You truly feel like you can hear sounds all around you and not just left and right. It uses software for a virtual surrouond. You can't get a 5.1 or 7.1 with 2 speakers on your ears and some people get upset at that, but it's physically impossible.

The wireless is awesome, but you need some rechargeable batteries for extended use. I've used these for about 24 hours so far and ive had to change the batteries twice, which I feel is a pro. 12 hours of use per set of batteries is pretty good IMO.

The custom presets are cool, but I like the default personally. It's still very cool that I have the option to change them at the press of a button.

One of the problems I've read with these is interference with wireless routers. I have also experienced those issues. My router is 3 feet from the headset base stand and i cant move it farther away. I got some interference with my sound, but more importantly our wireless Internet stopped working when I was using this headset. I was about to return them when we researched that you can change the frequency your wireless router uses, because by default most routers use the same 2.4 frequency that the headset use. We changed our router's frequency down 2 and now everything works just fine. To change your router's frequency only takes 1-2 min and doesn't effect your speed or anything.

In summary:

Awesome headset!! Especially if you're a MW fan. If you don't care about MW then save your money and get the version with without the MW theme.

Yes, the game is fun. Yes, it looks very pretty. But unfortunately, the game is way too short, only covering up to the Cell Saga, and then it doesn't even cover all the events taking place up to that. I think only the Saiyan Saga is fully covered, but the rest are not. You don't fight Dodoria or Zarbon, and only two members of the Ginyu appear; only androids #16, 17, and 18 show up; no Cell Jr... I think you get the point. I am fine with actually having less playable characters, but not at the expense of playing through all battles in the series.

As far as gameplay goes, i like the controls. I actually use the analog stick to move the characters. Takes a little getting used to the fact that you can't charge up your Ki, game does it for you. Drama Pieces was a nice little touch, but they should give you the option of turning them off on story mode, cause they don't really add anything spectacular, and many times it throws off your whole momentum when the fight stops to show you a little 5 second scene.

Overall, its worth a rental, not a full price purchase.

What did they do to my precious DBZ fighting game series?

Okay, it looks beautiful. I will admit that. I've heard people say "It's so nice looking that it looks like your are controlling the Anime itself". Well, the graphics actually blow the decade old animation out of the water. It would be nice to see the series re-done using this level of animation.

And the positive reviews stop here. I'm an avid fan of the DBZ series. Esepcially so when it comes to the Budakai Tenkaichi series. I own 1, 2 and 3. Burst Limit is to the DBZ fighting series or games as a one legged grey hound is to dog racing.

I am not sure if they dumbed it down for younger kids, if they just wanted to try something new, or just were too worried about the "pretty face" of the game.

The DBZ: BT series is known for being high-speed, fast-paced, all over the screen action. Burst Limit just shoved 6 metric tons of lead down everyones undergaments. I am used to "rushing" and "dragon homing". Now I get Goku floating across the screen at speeds that would have him paced by balloons at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The controls have definitely been dumbed down. It's really just a matter of "wait till my Ulimate Attack powers up....and fire" system. There's crap for variety.

At most, I would reccomend this game as a rental. I'll be selling mine very shortly.

Coming from the budokai series, I was more hoping for that feel. The combos and tactics and even more strategy are a nice touch to the budokai series, that I feel that burst limit lacks. When going against computer enemies, they will block most of the time, making combos incredibly hard to master because the amount of practice you acquire from fighting them is minimal. I would compare this more to a tenkaichi series game. One button to push and maybe add some direction on the joystick to change it up a little. The lack of variety (something that I believe the tenkaichi series did) leaves the replayability of this game to be more poor than the older DBZ games.

When going against other human opponents, well you have to find one first. Not very many people still play this game online so you are better off playing with friends or going against computers (but as was said in the previous paragraph, can get boring). When you do find an online match, it becomes a button mashing experience, barely any guarding. You are left with pressing buttons faster than your opponent and if you do an ultimate attack or a special, pray that they finally do not guard or teleport behind you.

Now that I have gotten the few bad things out of the way, I will discuss why this game earned 4 stars:

Part of it may be that there have not been great DBZ games for this generation of consoles whether it be from button mashers, to luck of the draw, to just plain cut scenes every five seconds. The graphics of this game are fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed the direction that the graphics decided to take. The transformations are great and the action (when you get lucky) makes you feel as if though you indeed are taking part in a world ending clash. The combat, although limiting, is still very fun to get used to and the story line is lengthy and increases in challenge as you go. The battles get HARD, but that just gives the more accomplished feeling once you finally shut Broly up once and for all.

I cannot compare this game to many other DBZ games except the budokai series, ultimate tenkaichi and budokai tenkaichi 3, and I would say it has the punching and kicking mechanics of the tenkaichi series, with a budokai graphical setting. If you are looking for a current gen title, then this game should be considered. The lack of characters may be a draw back, but each character has great animations (if you ignore the occasional missed mouth to audio lag) and good energy blasts. Happy Gaming!

Seller was amazingly fast with shipping, and the cases were in perfect condition.

However, these are not the cases in the description. The manual clips are different (like a regular Blu-ray case), and the logo was in the top-center of the case, not in the top-left. It also did not have the PlayStation logo on it, but some PS3 titles do not have that logo on their cases anyway.

In short, they were not exactly what I needed, but close enough.

Ok, I purchased this game through the Playstation Store as a Day 1 Digital Download, and read the reviews beforehand on amazon, just to get a feel for whether the full game was different from the demo I downloaded a couple of weeks ago. From reading the reviews, I realized one thing practically all the reviews for this product were either written by twelve-year olds that are good at this game, or geeky fourteen-year olds that are not. So, to assist you, the possible purchaser of this title, I will attempt to make this review as informative and objective as possible, without giving away any spoilers.

First off, I have played the two prequels to this game: Army of Two and AOT 40th Day. They were decent action games, but more for a boring saturday night, not really a home-run action game like Battlefield: Bad Company or Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. While the third entry in the franchise is not up to that level yet, it is definitely headed in the right direction. Gone is the unreal engine, here is the frostbite engine (that allowed destructible environments in the 2011 FPS Battlefield 3). Also gone are the "back-to-back" tactics, as well as the ambidextrous shooting abilities of Salem and Rios of the past titles. While the absence of the two aforementioned abilities is a downer of sorts, there are new tactics and features in Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel.

From "TWO" vision, which is sorta like a battlefield version of Batman's bat-vision (see Arkham games) to the Overkill mode, which is comparable to the Rage mode from the last-gen game "Scarface: The World is Yours". Basically, your operator is impervious to damage when this is activated, has unlimited ammo, and can literally blow his enemies apart.

The graphics are pretty good, as is the sound, and the controls are pretty solid. My biggest gripe with this title is that enemy combatants tend to take a good amount of damage before taking a dirt nap in no way realistic, of course but, this game is not meant to have a realistic level of accuracy (see the aforementioned Overkill mode). Also, there are times when enemies can pop out of almost nowhere and be shooting you from behind in an area you just cleared. Kinda frustrating. But aside from that, this game is a heck of a lot of fun especially if you've got a battle buddy to play co-op with.

You can customize your own masks and wear one of them in battle, switch out your outfit, masks, and even your current armament between every mission, and can utilize the co-op oriented battles to maximize carnage. Also, it must be included that the level of customization regarding your weapons is nothing short of phenomenal there are dozens of choices for each weapon. Quite honestly, this is to console games what The Expendables is to action movies a testosterone-fueled battle royal that is there for no other reason that to entertain with blood, guts, and tons of guns.

I paid $60 for this title, and I can say that, despite the minor hiccups mentioned before, I feel satisfied with my purchase and that I got my money's worth. So, if you enjoy movies like The Expendables and games of the same sort, then this title is probably right up your alley. However, if you're a COD or Battlefield fanboy, this will probably not be the title for you.

Since Army of TWO series has been out, I really wasn't impressed with those games. The characters seemed bulky and the gameplay just didn't impress me. Not to mention, the graphics were horrible. However, after seeing numerous videos on Devil's Cartel, I decided to finally give the franchise a try.

A.I. (Bravo): The A.I. of Bravo is one of the best I've seen in a team-based shooter. Bravo is not just a prop, who shoots, aimlessly and gets in the way. He is VERY involved and reliable. He gets cover, when needed. In certain situations, he will not fire, until it is initiated by the player. Not to mention, he does not get in the way of the player, while in a gunfight. The most impressive action is he may wait, until the right time, then move ahead and kill enemies at random. However, his actions are carried out in a tactical way.

CAMPAIGN/STORY: This game introduces TWO new characters called Alpha and Bravo (players will be Alpha). They are sent to Mexico to go up against La Guadana, who is a deadly drug cartel.

CUSTOMIZATION: Weapons can be greatly customized on this game. In fact, it is similar to that of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. With that being said, every part of a weapon can be customized and also tested out at the range. Masks can be customized, as well. Players can use default designs or even create their own.

GAMEPLAY: The newest addition to the game is the infamous Frostbite 2 engine, which is used in BF3. Of course, the previous TWO games used the Unreal engine. The destructible environments, along with the animations and physics, complement each other very well. Enemies, as well as nearby structures are sent flying, when blasted by grenades. Also, enemies react differently, based upon how and where they are shot. For example, I shot an enemy in the leg, and he was limping. Bravo once shot an enemy and as he was falling to the ground, I shot him in the head and his hat flew off. Heads can be severed by powerful weapons. I once saw an enemy slammed up against a wall, when hit gunfire from a gatling gun.

The dialogue between the characters is very captivating, especially between Alpha and Bravo. There is not a lot of cheesy one-liners, like in many other shooters. Sure, they say some comical phrases, but that is just to kinda lighten up the moment, as they are about to engage in immanent battle. The characters really make you feel as if you are a part of the team and what going on. I am constantly listening to each character, as they are proceeding to the next portion of a level. In other words, I feel like I am watching a good war movie with some pretty good actors.

Then, there has been an improvement in the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2-like points system for various types of kills. For example, a player can get points for scoring a headshot, flanking an enemy, killing with a grenade, surprise kills, decoy kills, multiple kills, melee kills, combination kills, etc. Points can be used to upgrade weapons and accessories.

Overkill returns to the game. Of course, those who are new to the series, Overkill is when a player can be virtually invincible for a short period of time. While Overkill is engaged, ammo is infinite and stronger than ever.

The enemies on this game come out in vast numbers. Not to mention, they are very smart, which can be a deadly combination. They will shoot straight up, flank, or even throw grenades, if possible. They can even be heavily wounded, and if they still can shoot, THEY WILL. I have attempted to run up on an enemy to try to get a melee kill and as he was running away, he turned and shot from the hip. I foolishly tried to melee a boss enemy and as he pulled out a machete, my character grabbed his arm. Before he could go any further, a button icon showed up at random ala Heavy Rain. I repeatedly pressed the button and my character turned the tables and killed him with it. Cool!

Many gunfights will take place in open areas, but being tactical is a huge part on this game because of the numbers, which the enemies come. Of course, this can lead to being under some heavy gunfire. Therefore, taking cover is very essential to survival in this game. The cover system reminds me of Ghost Recon Future Soldier because upon getting cover, an arrow will point at another cover position. Even the movements from cover to cover are similar. Keep in mind that all cover is not good cover, as some can be manipulated by gunfire.

Sometimes, gunfights will not always be out in the open. Fighting can go down in some very close quarters. This means, the players head needs to be on the swivel because a single enemy can be around the corner or side corridors, waiting for the right moment to ambush.

GRAPHICS/VISUALS: The graphics are very good in the game. The lighting and the shadows are surprisingly good. In addition, the landscapes look good. However, do not quite as sharp as BF3 graphics, but they are still quite nice. The explosions and animations of manipulated structures and the animations of the characters are done very well.

SOUND: The sound of this game is very good. The sounds of the explosions are very realistic, as well as hearing various structures being altered by gunfire. Sounds from structures hit by gunfire are very realistic. As far as the sounds of the weapons, don't expect them to be BF3-like! However, the sounds are still pretty good.

VERDICT: If you are in need of a very good action shooter, NOT named Call of Duty, Devil's Cartel is the game for you. With that being said, for the diehard TWO fans, this is the ONE of the TWO to purchase.

This game is garbage. It fails on many levels including (but not limited to) gameplay, story, and uniqueness (I just don't have the energy to go through everything wrong with this game so I will cover the points I feel or most disappointing). The original Army of Two and it's sequel the 40th Day were miles ahead of this travesty of video gaming. The creators of The Devil's Cartel throw a good franchise in a dumpster with every other mediocre cover based 3rd person shooter currently saturating the market.

Gameplay: They have stripped away everything that made Army of Two stand out from other games of it's kind. Gone is the Aggro meter and the ability to control enemy tactics by drawing fire for your partner. Weapons have their own Aggro rating but it there is little difference between them and it seems random in it's application. No more Back-to-Back sequences, co-op sniping, or moral decisions. You cannot roll or dodge at all so good luck avoiding grenades. The AI's best tactic it to rush straight at you with a near invincible "Brute" type enemy that can kill you in seconds. Also You are given an AI controlled 3rd wheel for about 1/4 to 1/3 of the game that constantly runs ahead and takes all the good cover.

Story: If you liked the previous games like me you will feel betrayed by the writes decisions with the plot. Not only do they replace the original cast, Salem and Rios, but it's how they do it that is all at once insulting, contrived, cliche, and ridiculous. What they are replaced with is a pair of cardboard cut outs, Alpha and Bravo. So bland are these characters that they don't even give them names just those horrible designations. They might as well have called the Player 1 and Player 2. These two ridiculous mercenary versions of the Odd Couple have no chemistry and are two of the most forgettable characters in video game history.

Uniqueness: As mentioned above any and all things in this game that could have helped it be mistaken for an Army of Two title have been removed. The only things left to identify in that franchise is that you are playing a cover based shooter as two dues in masks. The environments are as repetitive as the game play and it's a toss up which is the most boring. They have included a leveling system where in you must play the game multiple times to unlock everything but even that has flaws since once you unlock it you then have to buy it as well. Even masks, tattoos, and clothing which offer nothing except esthetics must first be unlocked then purchased.

I purchased this game knowing a small amount of it's flaws having played the demo but liked the previous two games enough to give them the benefit of the doubt, and now I wish I had stuck with my gut. I wish I could get my money back, but the best I can hope for is to warn others not to make the same mistake I did. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. If you are looking for some good co-op action get either of the other two, but leave this one to rot.

I have been looking for a co-op game for a while and just as I was about to give up I came across army of two: the devils cartel. I know that many games have online co-op gameplay but there are those that don't need that because we have people to play with close to home. This is a fun game to play with your friends, siblings, or anybody that likes to shoot with someone at his side.

I know the other Army of Two's weren't spectacular games by any means, but they were still fun. I would play this with my best friend, and we always had fun with them because the combat, while simple, was enjoyable.And honestly almost anything that's co-op based we can get into.

This one just....felt different. The gun customizations were there, but nothing spectacular or fun about them. The aggro system seemed non-existent. In the other games, you knew who had aggro, but this one there is no meter or anything to tell you that. Now that would be fine if you could still tell who had it, but we never really could.

The worst part about this game was the cover system. I can't express my hatred of this enough. You have to stand a couple feet behind a piece of cover, then hit a button and the character runs for you into the cover position. Then to move to the next cover, you hit a button....and the character moves for you. So basically they made it so your character moves for you....and all you should have to do pull the trigger. It takes the fun out.

And beyond that, the cover doesn't feel like it does much. Most of the time I found myself just found myself walking in a straight line and firing....and that's it.

It's like they took a game that was fun because of the co-op feel/aspect of it, and they tried to make it more of a single player feel and in the days of great first person single player shooters, this gets lost in mediocrity.

All in all, my friend and I found that we were playing it just because we bought the stupid thing and not because we actually wanted to play it. We both said we would have more fun playing through the old games than this one. We sold the game after 4 days of trying to play it.

Don't buy it: If you liked the other Army of Two's, just replay the older ones if you feel like you want to play another Army of Two.

After the disappointing Tekken 6 and the meh style of Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2) sets the bar high for fighting games. Not only does it have a roster of over 50 characters (and counting thanks to FREE DLC), the gameplay and graphics are aesthetic at best(I believe it uses the same graphic engine as Tekken 6). TTT2 creater Katsuhiro Harada listened as fans took Twitter to ask for their favorite Tekken characters to be brought back. Guess who's back? Jun, Alex, Michelle Chang, Angel, and Prototype Jack from Tekken 2. Forest Law is back from Tekken 3 just to name a few of the characters. The stages are a little reminiscent of Dead or Alive as far as being multi-tiered. The tag throws are much of an improvement from the first TTT and the tag assaults are the cherry on top! Here are the some of the modes:

Offline:

Arcade similar run through of TTT2 in the arcades. Just like Tekken 6, these are offline ranked matches. You fight through opponents until you reach the boss battles Jinpachi & Heihachi, True Ogre, Jun & Unknown. By defeating these characters, you unlock endings for your fighters. BTW, you can have 2 vs 2, 1 vs 1, or 1 vs 2 battles.*UPDATE* There is no story line to this game. It's pretty much a non-cannon dream match(kinda like King of Fighters '98 & 2002).

Ghost Battle similar style to Tekken 6 with ranked matches (finally, you don't have to play online matches in order to get past 1st Dan!). You can also unlock customized items for your characters (i.e. the golden matches[hint hint]).

Vs Battle not much to say about this mode...

Team Attack the same style as all of the Tekken games

Time Attack how fast can you defeat the game?

Survival how long can you last?

Practice to polish up on combos and tag attacks

Pair Play you can form 2 vs 2 teams with a partner

Fight Lab you play as Combot(from Tekken 4) to go through beginners' training and play some of the most strangest(but fun) battles. The more you progress, you more you can unlock items and gain more Gs(in-game money)

Customize you can customize your characters to you liking(BTW, the game gives you 10 slots per character which gives you many options!). There are vast options to choose from & you can also customize rage colors & fight panels (the display for you characters during the vs screen)

Tekken Tunes so get this: you can customize the stage music to you liking. I'm talking about your favorite songs: tracks from your CDs, mp3s, all of the good stuff. *UPDATE* I've finally added some of my favorite dance/pop songs and it makes the stages much better. It's definitely something worth experimenting with!

Ranked Match pretty self-explanatory. Play through matches to raise you rank

Player Match

To keep it nice & simple, this is a must have for all Tekken fans and hardcore fighting game fans (like myself). After having a pretty mediocre Tekken 6, and lots of unsatisfying fighting games in-between, I could definitely say that this was the best fighting game I've played in a long time. Harada-san definitely listened to his fans on this one and has made the dream game we've wanted since the original Tekken Tag Tournament.

Gameplay

The gameplay mechanics builds up on Tekken 6's bound moves, where you can switch partners to continue a combo. One usage is Tag Assault, where you switch with your partner to continue a combo after a bound. This puts the opponent in Rage, however, and should be used wisely. There is also Tag Crash, which you can use to break your opponent's combo, but takes away the health you regenerate. So there is strategy involved with using these. The damage is also adjusted, so that you can still do a reasonable amount of damage without having to resort to using juggle combos like in Tekken 6. It gives players the choice to play old-school along with the new mechanics. In VS, you can do 1v1, 2v2, and even 1v2. There is also a mode called Pair Play which allows 4 players to play at once.

Modes

TTT2 has many of the same modes previous Tekken games had: Ghost Mode, VS Mode, Arcade Mode, Practice Mode, Survival, Time Attack, and Team Battle. A new mode called Fight Lab serves as a tutorial to new comers to the franchise. The mode introduces a very quirky story involving Lee Chaolan's alter ego Violet, who trains Combot into the ultimate fighting robot. You go through the techniques they teach you with some hilarious mini-games of sorts, and earn money for customization. As you go through the Fight Lab, you also gain techniques from other characters that you can use to customize your Combot's moveset, making him your own unique fighter. Its a very interesting way to teach the mechanics to new players. Customization has expanded since Tekken 6 and the items cost less now.

Graphics

The graphics are definitely a step-up from Tekken 6. Character models were completely done from scratch. The stages are more vivid and grand than ever before. When fighting, you also get dirty while falling on the ground, so little details like that are a nice touch. There are once again multi-tiered stages, with some having balcony breaks.

Sound

The Tekken franchise has always been one of the few fighting game franchises where I have actually enjoyed listening to their music. And this soundtrack serves as one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a long time. All of the music really adds to the stages they are featured in, and really pumps you up for a good fight. Nothing better than having a fantastic track to listen to while pummeling your opponent to the ground. And if the tracks don't float your boat, then TTT2 allows you to change the track for different stages using the Tekken Tunes. This is a very handy feature for those who aren't satisfied with certain music tracks, but really, the soundtrack is fantastic as it is. For the voices, Tekken now features more characters speaking in their Native tongue. Eddy Gordo and Christie now speak Portugese, Leo speaks German, Miguel speaks Spanish, and Lili speaks French. A very nice diversity, and certainly adds to the characters. The sound effects also make it feel more like a fight, and you feel satisfied when you get that punch in.

Online

While Tekken 6 failed horribly with its online, TTT2 remedies that with a fantastic online play. Using a modified version of Soul Calibur V's net code, you can play with anyone around the world with little to no lag. Most of the time, I've gotten 4 or 5 bars, and very rarely get lower than that. The only disappointing thing is that you can't use Pair Play online to team with another player.

Overall

TTT2 is the best entry in the series by far. It contains over 50 characters, with more coming with free DLC, which means you won't have a shortage of characters to use. The gameplay is well-balanced despite the wide cast. There is a great load of content that will keep you going for months. Online is better than ever before, and the music is godly. Perhaps my only gripe is that there is no mini game like Tekken Bowl, but that is forgivable as Tekken is a fighting game first. While newcomers will feel a little overwhelmed by the difficulty of the game and by the veterans online, the Fight Lab does a great job at showing them the ropes. If you have been a longtime Tekken fan or want a rewarding and enjoyable fighting game, then look no further. This IS the Fighting Game of the Year.

This Tekken is sure Fire and a must have for any fan of its genre. Keep bringing that Great console gaming. Really Really wish street fighter would stick to their 2d roots and bring another back, because tekken sticks to their 3d roots and are off the chart!
