I can play my PS3 while charging the controller from the system. I don't think there's any drop in power over the length of the cord, like I've read in other reviews of similar cables. I'm pretty close to my PS3 so this is the perfect length, and like I said it charges the controller properly while I'm playing. HDMI cable seems good, I've heard there's no need for "high speed" or "3d" HDMI cables, not sure about that but I can tell you this one works fine.
