for Rpg fans what's not to love? after 6 weeks of steady play on "oblivion" I was ready for greener pastures...well, "shivering" produces! beautiful environments steady action and just rewards..I would recommend you play thru "oblivion"first

just enough tp get the feel of the game...all in all it is a great experience and even if you can devote minimal time at each session the game provides enough written history on screen to catch you up.

good luck! may the nine guide you!

Shivering Isles expands the same fun you have with the Elder Scroll game. New monsters, herbs, and treasures reengage you back into the story. The new scenery is a mix of colors that excite and disturb the mind.

I love Elder Scrolls IV so I was eagerly awaiting this add-on. It didn't dissapoint in terms of gameplay and visuals. The fact that you can travel back and forth with your current ES IV character is great. The only downside I can say is that the game is too short and ends suddenly. However even after completing the main mission there is more exploring to be done.

The map is fairly small, but overall I liked it and still exploring all the areas of the map.

Oblivion was awesome! I was hoping for more of the same.

And this was more, although I'm not sure how much of the same. This is sort of an alien super high-fantasy setting, in contrast to the sort of moderate medieval fantasy of Oblivion.

I liked it. Just not as much as Oblivion, and after completing the main quests, I didn't have much desire to return and explore further. I just went back to the standard Oblivion game to explore Tamriel further.

And this copy of the disc was prone to much more face/speech out-of-alignment issues, framerate stutters, and so-on as opposed to the original Oblivion disc. Maybe the addition of so much data to the disc made it harder for the PS3 to navigate or something--I don't know.

My overall experiece was that I could take it or leave it. This would have been great if it had come before Oblivion, but after-the-fact it seems to pale in comparison.
