I am not sure why sony stopped putting shut off switches onto their systems, but this is a must! I hate plugging and unplugging the cord but I don't like leaving the system on (in sleep mode) when I'm not using it. The switch is very inexpensive and while the shipping takes awhile, it is well worth it. Simply plug in the cord to the switch and the switch to the ps3 and you're set. This is a must buy!
