The game is certainly not worth the $60. I see that Amazon reduced the price to $54. Still not worth it. Frame rate issues, PS2 graphics, and the multiplayer isn't even fun. Don't waste your money, but if you want to try it, rent it first.
EDIT:
I played through the entire game on Agent difficulty with the Modern health system. The game plays like a rushed Call of Duty, the load times are terrible. I have to wait 20-30 seconds after each death for the game to load into my last checkpoint. Also, Jinx from the Die another Day section of the game doesn't even share Halle Berry's likeness. Nor the woman in Moonraker doesn't share the likeness from the actress from the film. This game is probably hands down the worst game I've ever played, and I thought 007 Reloaded was bad..

Before I start the review, have you seen the awful box-art? That is hands down the worst box-art I have ever seen from a game, Zombie 8-bit Craig followed by print-screened images from the movies, that will set the tone for this review.I think we can all agree there has been some great Bond games, Goldeneye 64, Nightfire, Everything Or Nothing etc, these games were all published by EA (except Goldeneye 64), but sadly EA sold the rights to the franchise to Activision. Since then what 007 games have we got? Quantum Of Solace (COD clone), Goldeneye Wii (terrible remake of the amazing Nintendo 64 classic and COD clone), Goldeneye Reloaded (same as the former except 60fps, wow!) Bloodstone (decent, but of course Activision closed the developer as soon as it was released, they love to kill good games!) and now 007 Legends. Lets just say that the WHOLE experience is Goldeneye Reloaded, that was already ridiculously linear, made even more-so. The story has been completely retold in order for it to make sense for a game that will take you an hour or so to finish, I am a die-hard Bond fan and seen as this is Bonds 50th anniversary this is a complete insult. Also It's worth noting that I despise the Call Of Duty games, as if Activision didn't churn out enough COD **** with no effort put into development at all, they have to inject this IP with it's terrible gameplay. Also, even though Activision said that Daniel Craig would voice act as Bond, he doesn't, the actor they have got to replace him sounds absolutely nothing like Mr Craig, and is cringe-worthy at times. Bond's catchphrase has been ruined in the game, "Sorry, I didn't catch your name Mr...", to which bond replies "James Bond", IT'S "Bond, James Bond", get it right!Where are the subtitles? This is the 50th anniversary of 007. How could you not have subtitles option? I brought this as a gift for my Nephew, Eliot, who is deaf and a 007 collector. He said the game is good, but where are the subtitles? October is Disability Month. 4 stars because the game has no subtitles option.007 Legends
UPDATE: After two days of trying to play the game and get the full effect without subtitles, my Nephew Eliot is highly disappointed. He says, the game was rush and is a bunch of mess. With the technology that we are currently using, what did Activision use? The Dark Ages? What? This is 007 50th Anniversary surely they could have produce a product worthy of the 007 name. The game should be recalled and redesigned. Refunds should be given and the company should provide a $60.00 gift card to all of us who have been deceived. We are currently in a state of illusion. Ratings has been changed to 1 stars.
Read Best Reviews of 007 Legends Here
Well, this is my first game review on here, since I write movie reviews mainly, and i have to say that I do not agree with most on here regarding this game.I never played Call of Duty so I can't really compare both games, but 007 Legends is a really enjoyable game for fans of James Bond, it is based on 5 of the James Bond films : Goldfinger, On her majesty's secret service, License to Kill, Die another Day and Moonraker.
Each movie is played over two or three levels, played mainly as a First person shooter, which is not one of my favorite genres of gaming, I usually prefer the third person adventure or shooting games "eg, Max Payne ", but I still played this because I am such a big fan of Bond !
the Levels feature some of the movies' villains and characters like Goldfinger, Oddjob, Pussy Galore, Jaws, etc.., in which players encounter as they move along the levels and interact briefly with these characters as we play as the Daniel Craig Bond in all the levels, these encounters are usually a brief hand to hand combat that are easy and simple to execute, usually with simple button commands like press R1 and L1 to punch or Dodge. It is quite enjoyable seeing those characters and interacting with them, gives a nice nostalgia feeling for the movies, not to mention the amazing music.
there also some very memorable cut scenes involving some of key moments and memorable lines from the original movies, one that comes to mind : " Do you expect me to talk .. " .. " No Mr Bond, I expect you to die !! ", the voice acting could have been better though for sure.
the majority of gameplay involves first person shooting action as i already mentioned, the shooting mechanics are simple and fun, with the ability to chose and pick a variety of weapons from machine guns to shot guns to sniper rifles, I played the Easy mode and the bad guys are not that hard to beat, however, certain levels need some simple tactics to beat a big group of badies shooting at you.
the gameplay also features some investigating where you use your Cell phone to analyze and scan for clues and solve certain puzzles which are also nothing hard or complicated and might get repetitive to some.
Some levels also see players drive cars " Die another Die, License to kill, etc.." and Skiing " OHMSS " which are also nice to have and break from the Shooting style for a while, some are fun while others are hard and some what repetitive, the good thing though is that these levels are brief.
the Graphics are decent enough and nothing special but nothing bad as well.
Controls are easy and fun during the shoot outs, might get a little bit harder in the other levels that involve driving and skiing.
there are some negatives that might bother some people but were not a major issue for me, for example, people complained about the long loading times, and while it was true that it was quite long " probably 25 to 35 seconds " but it wasn't something major or irritating to me, but i can understand the frustration by some, especially for a game made in 2012 !!
For me personally, i would have preferred a third person adventure / shooting game rather than a first person shooter, and also preferred if each movie included more levels and went through the movies with more details rather than jumping so quickly through out the movie, as if we played only a small portion of the film.
Also if they included a brief intro to each movie with its original soundtrack, that would have been awesome instead of just the Goldfinger intro in the beginning.
I think the major issue here is that this game could have offered a lot more, and it seems to be overpriced.
so in short, its not perfect but quite an enjoyable first person shooter game, entertaining and nostalgic for Bond fans, a little overpriced, I recommend it to all James Bond fansLooks good but controls are uneven , it was nice to see the old classics revisited. Overall an ok game.
