Let me just start off,
This is a review written by a good friend that is as accurate as a review as your going to get from someone who's NOT BIAS towards RE Series being manipulated...
Well it's finnaly here and i popped my disk in this morning I have only played a but of the main campaign by myself so far and I am waiting to go any further untill we get a play group going. The reason for this is the game is very hard to play by yourself i often find myself being swarmed by lickers, zombies, flaming zombies, hunters, and other nasty things that infect and kill you pretty quickly. The AI of for your squad of course is pretty terrible (as in most games)
I have only one bug i have noticed so far is when playing alone one of your squad members will not move and stay stuck in the beggining of the level.
As far as gameplay goes it's pretty good so far and the auto cover is actually not too bad and cover in this game is essential to surviving no running and gunning if your facing things with any range to them ammo conservation is also key. The only problems i have so far is the melee and grenades if there are multiple enemies around you its hard to focus on one enemy with auto aim on so i turnt mine off. The executions are pretty cool and a lot of the characters abilities are handy. In order to use the skills you have to unlock them as you rank up in the game and they cost some exp points. You can also buy weapons with exp points in the loading lobby for levels. Each character does play well to the class they are assigned the only one I have not tried out is the medic.
Healing works the same as in past resident evil where you use herbs and first aid, but they add the infection spray which takes away your infected status.
Graphics are pretty sound but this is a dark game I had to turn my gamma up a bit. Blood looks pretty good and so does almost everything. Im sure I will find many other bugs as I play but this is the launch day so im sure some things will be patched as they are found and reported!
So far this is all I have played but i will continue this once we get further and i have tried out the multiplayer.
(ADDED HOURS LATER)
Now I have played a fair amount of multiplayer today and i can say i love most of it it really captures the feel of being on edge when you have to worry about your enemy and the zombies there really has been no camping because there is no room for camping they make the maps not too small but small enough with a combination of threats everywhere to make sure nowhere is safe not even your own spawn.
Raccoon city really rewards playing with your team and sticking together if you go off alone and the other team doesnt kill you the zombies and bow's will and i like that chaotic feeling. Thats why i can't understand why I have seen some reviewers saying they dont see any atmosphere to the game when i think they did a really good job with the panic and chaos of it.
Operation Raccoon city takes me back abit to some of the old shooters where you had to load some rounds into a player to kill him unlike current ones which you can put a few to the chest and they are dead. It takes abit more trigger skill to kill you have to place your shots right and control your bursts.
My favorite multiplayer mode so far is Heroes mode where you select a character from iconic resident evil characters and the team with the last surviving hero is the victor. Basically just survive with your team and keep each other alive. After your hero has been killed you cannot spawn back in as the hero but as a umbrella character or spec ops character and try to defend your hero.
Next is Team Attack this mode is just team deathmatch which is pretty fun in this game
Biohazard is where your team tries to collect all the G-Virus samples around the map before the other team while fending each other off.
Last is Survivor mode. This mode is like a kind of the hill mode where there is a spot your team has to hold while fending off the other team who is trying to capture it.
(EDIT)
Its a damn good game, not without flaws, but for an online multiplayer scrim with clans and friends, this game is really nice.

I'll just say this for now (additional information forthcoming):The negatives that have been cited in the published reviews, they're not game-breaking by any means. It's as if the reviewers were solely basing their opinion on the single player experience.
To be honest, I haven't seen a SP FPS/TPS game yet that handles AI really well. I would say that this game handles like Brink with that regard, but at least the maps don't have noticeable bottlenecks. Early segments are linear but it opens up a bit as the game goes along.
IF you are buying the game for SP, be forewarned, it's relatively short (though I've spent at least 5-6 hrs already and I'm not done quite yet...1 more level or so). But it's been an entirely fun ride. Keep in mind that the first battle with Birkin, it's a "stand-off" mission where you have to actually try opening the door FIRST, and then merely survive for several anxious minutes and making sure Birkin doesn't get too close to you or the team. I had to find that out by a little trial-and-error.
I'm looking forward to MP when I get the chance after the SP campaign.

Great Game. The special edition came with all the exclusive packs and patches. It was well worth the price and the fact that i couldnt get it here in any game store or store at all. Im very pleased with all of the product.Read Best Reviews of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition Here
This game is a blast when you have a full team of real people, the unlocks motivate me to replay levels and I have spent the last 2 nights blasting through the co-op mode and MP. This game is not a perfect 10 but the reviews online do it no justice.Want Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition Discount?
I have 5 hours of gameplay in and I think this game is fantastic. It's a 3rd person SOCOM in the original Resident Evil setting, Racoon City. The graphics look good and at times great. I love the little nods to the original series and alot of fun gameplay tie-ins that keep it from being too much like SOCOM. The special edition was worth the $59.99 I paid. Awesome case artwork that matches the games artwork. The patches are sweet if you're into that kinda thing. Overall this game is going to need some patching to fix bugs that I've read about in other reviews. My favorite recent game Skyrim had far more issues but was still worth the ride. I'd say the same here. For gameplay and overall value this game is awesome!!I've noticed alot of bad comments about enemies being bullet sponges. Be sure to aim for the head to kill anyone, which should go without saying for a shooter FGS. The military enemies are wearing body armor and everyone knows how to kill zombies, right?!?!
