This game was rushed.

I've played every version since 04, and this one is the first that didn't improve from the previous version.

Pros:

1. Improved graphics

2. Improved sound

3. Improved Tiger WOods CHallenge

Cons:

1. Slowdown, inconsistent frame rate

2. Controls are horrible unless you are on the easiest difficulty setting

3. Commentary has nearly the same dialogue as 06 and 07.

Here's hoping TW09 isn't rushed, too.

Have been playing Tiger Woods Golf for years. This year was such a disappointment from the play aspect. My husband and I played together, being a guest on each others careers. The only way to play together is the play now option. This makes it a singular effort to complete your career matches. It seems to me all ps3 games are more geared to playing online instead of playing with friends. Why do we have to loose that aspect just to get better graphics? The game face has been overhauled and is more realistic and you can even load a picture of yourself. Change the way modifers are applied to your player. They brought back the 3 click (when you had the bar to swing with)

We should probably stop supporting EA's yearly release schedule. At least with TW they added new courses instead of just new players (which seems hardly a big incentive to me). But, if it weren't for the red shirted Tiger on the front I could have sworn this was TW2007.5 instead of an actually game. They could have just sold it for 20 bucks for add on courses and that would have been honest business at least.

The PS3 version is terribly slow. You can tell this was an Xbox 360 port to PS3 instead of the other way around. In the end I just couldn't keep playing it with the horrible load times just to boot up the game and get in and play took entirely to long, then if you made a mistake and select the wrong option in your hurry to actually play it's time to do it all over again.

I think the biggest tell tail sign is when they moved the same commentary from 2007 to 2008. This is what happens when you must get a game out each and every year.

I'm going to get Hot Shots: Out of Bounds which at least looks like they tried to create an actual game instead of $50.00 expansion pack. Don't buy (at least not for $50 dollars).

This is a very fun game, although it takes some practice to be any good if you have never played a golf game before. Easy to learn controls with a difficulty level that is just about right

great game, more than 20 interesting games in one, I like to play the game along with my kids all the time, it's our first choice now for family gaming time, highly recommended.

We purchased Rio several months ago. Our wii was acting up so I wanted a multiplayer game for the ps3. My kids age 8,7, and 5 really love this game. It's a series of minigames a along with quizzes if you turn them on. Their are enough games that I don't feel like I'm playing the same one every time that I play.

This game is enough fun that my husband and I stayed up with our friends until 2am playing without the kids! It really is fun for the whole family!

Some games (like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Phineas & Ferb 2nd Dimension) do a great job of capturing the essence of the movies/shows and make for a really fun game to play through.

Rio possesses some of those elements, but after you've went through the 100 or so minigames, which can be played in a lot of different modes (Party, Story, Quiz, etc.) there isn't really anything else to do save to try for the various trophies. The graphics are very good, controls are simplistic enough, and the cutscenes (during the storyline) are right out of the movie.

Obviously if your kids loved the movie and are satisfied with the minigame setup, this will hold their attention for a few weeks or so. Otherwise, I definitely would not purchase this game. There is simply not enough replay value for the price ($42 on Amazon at the time of this review) to justify.

I have long been searching for PS3 games that can be played by the whole family. I have 2 kids, aged 6 and 4. I got them Toy Story 3 for Christmas and they loved it. But it gets boring after a while. The Rio game, on the other hand have mini games and you could choose the games yourself (or pick Random if you wish). Graphics is pretty impressive! I love how the birds rejoice when they win. When we have guests come over, we also play this game. Both adults and kids enjoy this game.

I agree with the other commenter. I wish they made more games like this.

Update: Last week, I had a 0-0 game go to a shootout against a player named IAMCHINESE (or I_AM_CHINESE). Anyway, he used a glitch that allows you to score every time in the shootout. Why doesn't EA address these issues?

I started out with high hopes for this game. However, after playing it for 3 months, my lofty expectations have turned to that all-too-familiar feeling of disappointment with an EA sports NHL hockey game.

At the surface, things seem great. The graphics are attractive, and the gameplay feels responsive. I do like the skill stick; it's a great improvement to the game and it allows for more creative offense as well as defense. However, once you want more than a cursory experience of playing hockey, this game begins to unravel.

I should preface the rest of this review by stating I've owned probably a dozen or more NHL games (EA's NHL series and the 2K series as well) since my first game: NHL 94 for the SNES. Also, I should let it be known that I feel the actual gameplay is the most critical feature of the hockey gaming experience. If the play is unrealistic, or if it slow and unresponsive, no amount of special franchise modes or extra bells and whistles can compensate. And my review focuses on online play, not playing against the computer.

So, now to take off the gloves. This game is absolutely terrible when it comes to realistic gameplay. The main offender is, by far and away, the goaltending. NHL 09 cannot recognize the difference between good scoring chances and poor scoring chances. Goalies are simply out of this world. They don't have any problem with stopping 15-20 one-timers per game, or with gloving slapshots from 10 feet out in the slot. They'll make impossible save after impossible save and leave you in frustration. To make things more confusing, the goalies have more trouble with shots that would normally be considered "low percentage" chances. These include unscreened wrist shots from the point, or floating, floppy backhanders that seem to find their way into the net much more often than they should. So, if you're playing this game and you want to score: don't use techniques that would make sense in an actual NHL game. You need to cheese. Find one move that works (there aren't many) and use it over and over and over. It's the only way to consistently score. It's just not any fun at all.

I know that the intent is to keep scoring down, but how is it any more realistic for a goalie to make 20 impossible saves in a game compared to a 15-10 final score? Taking slapshots from the blue line is pointless. Wrist shots from the slot are pointless. One timers have a decent chance, but you'll need to shoot 10 good one timers before you can get one past the goalie without ringing it off the post or crossbar. Dekes are also another scoring possibility, but some games you'll have 5 breakaways and be unable to score on any of them. I almost feel that the game decides (before you start playing) how many goals you're allowed to score.

Other problems include the stick lift and poke check. For online play, these are the most over-powered, over-used moves for defensemen. Using the stick lift, you can steal a puck from a guy who is 2-3 feet in front of you. Once in a while, you'll get a penalty for high sticking, but not often enough to keep everyone from mashing away on the stick lift button. Spamming the poke check on defense is surprisingly effective because if the puck carrier comes anywhere near the defender, the puck pops off your stick. In reality, when a defender poke checks, he is left out of position if he misses. In this game, you can simply poke, poke, poke until you get the puck.

Another major flaw in the game is the ability to hit offensive players who don't have the puck. Good internet players know that you can shut down the other player's offensive chances by checking players before they receive the pass. Also, if you're trying to set up a power play, the other team can cross-check your forwards when they don't have the puck. It is almost never called. Additionally, if you get a breakway that has enough separation that makes using the stick lift impossible, the defender can dive from behind you and trip you or knock you off balance just long enough for you to lose the puck into the goalie. That is never called unless your guy actually falls over. If you're chasing after a loose puck and a player from the other team is going to barely beat you, just check him from behind right before he gets to the puck. He'll lose balance and you'll come away with the puck.

The game has actual glitches too. During gameplay, sometimes your players will be set up for the one timer, but when you pass it to them, they lock up and the pass hits them in the skate while they are unable to move. I've scored goals in the shootout that don't count for some reason (they hit the net and bounced out but didn't give me a point) and I've seen goals scored where the puck never crossed the line completely. Sometimes the game will crash during online play causing you to get a loss. When attempting to change lines, the player stamina bars that you see at first are incorrect! Only when you try to switch your lines does it update with the current stamina levels. That can cause you to leave a tired line on the ice because it incorrectly showed them as rested.

If you hit a player on the other team and get a delayed penalty, your player will be unable to gain possession of the puck immediately following the call, even if the puck is right underneath him. For whatever reason, a few seconds must elapse on the game clock before your guy can take control of the puck. The same thing happens when the opposition goalie passes the puck to your player: if the goalie pass comes right to your guy you can't just slap it into the empty net. Again, for whatever reason, your player can't take control of the puck. It will pass through your guy until a player on the other team comes near it. If no opposition players come near the goalie pass for a few seconds, then you can finally get the puck. By then though, the goalie is back into position.

The controls, although improved, have problems. The main irritation I have is that shooting on offense is the same as checking on defense. This causes your player to cross-check the other team when you are trying to stuff in a loose puck. I also feel that the players miss the net on relatively good scoring chances way too much. I'm not sure if this is because of how I aim my shots or what, but an NHL player can hit the net on a wrist shot from the slot fairly easily. That's not the case in this game, you'll miss the net *a lot*.

Another problem is player switching. When you try to switch players on defense, NHL 09 simply selects the player closest to the puck. This causes problems on defense when the guy you want to select is not necessarily the closest guy to the puck. If, for example, you are trying to catch up to the puck carrier but are a step behind, if you try to switch players and play as your defenseman who is in position, you won't be able to. You first have to make your current player skate away from the puck carrier so that your defenseman is closest. However, this takes a second and by the time you finally get control of your D-man it is often too late.

Finally, your computer teammates are another source of frustration. Sometimes your D-men will change up right when the other team is coming down on an odd-man rush. Other times, your AI-controlled teammates will stand and stare at a puck as it glides by them: they won't move, in fact, sometimes, they'll move away from it. Then of course, there are the times that your teammates embrace their inner retard and skate directly into you. This often happens as you're trying to enter the offensive zone and they end up making you go offsides. On offense, sometimes your teammates will not go anywhere near the goal but instead stand on the perimeter and wait. This gives you no passing options. I've noticed that at the end of the game, the computer will force you to put out your top line even if they're dog tired and even if the other lines are not tired and even if you select one of your other lines. The computer just ignores your command and puts out the top line. Finally, if you forget to change up your lines, the computer will leave your guys out until they can't move any more. You'll have three lines with 100% stamina but the line that's out won't change up.

This game isn't as fun as it was when I first picked it up. I suppose that's because most people playing online now know how to exploit the stick lift and poke check buttons and they maul your players far away from the play. New rating: Overall 2/5, Fun 2/5.

I ve been a huge fan of hockey video games ever since Blades of Steel on Nintendo. I have to say that NHL 09 tops them all. The graphics are amazing making it feel like you are watching a game on TV. The commentary is probably the best sports game play by play I have ever heard. The only down fall of this game is the difficulty to score a goal. Other than that its a must play for all sports lovers.

This game is hard, but you still have lots of fun playing it. The first couple of games I played against friends and we all noticed how hard it was to score. As I kept playing against the game, I learned that scoring is damn near impossible. So I just said forget my pride and turned the diff level to rookie with full accuracy on my shot. Before I knew it I learned how to toe up the puck and fire it top shelf. I would have given this game 4.5, but we can't do it. In all everything is good except for the sensitivity when shooting the puck. Lets Go Devs!!

I have been playing the EA Sports NHL games since the earlly 90's, the nhl games over that span have been hit and miss. This year however EA Sports has nailed this one. What seperates this game is the be a pro mode where you get to create your own character and take him from the minors to the pros. Also the ability to play on different lines with dofferent line mates is a lot of fun too. If you have ever played an nhl game in the past and have even a slight interest, this NHL 09 is the game to buy.

As the title says.Cooler is crap.Steaming pile of crap might I add.First I had to scotch tape it to the PS3 cause it never sat right in USB port.Kinda slumpped to the side.It actually prevented better airflow than if I had let the PS3 stand alone taking in its own air.It was like administering oxegyn to someone who doesnt need it and then ending up making them lite headed from blocking off thier breathing passages with the hose.Same goes for this.hindered airflow and made PS3 freeze up also usb draws more power from PS3 which causes more heat which causes internal PS3 fans to speedup which causes more heat which causes processor to freeze up.Bad product and no need to get it.I only bought cause I was concerned about my ps3 60 gig from overheating.I actually tossed this POS and bought a small plug in fan from Walgreen's for 4.99 and put that next to PS3 in media cabinet to blow hot air away from the exhaust port of PS3 it works fine no overheats fan is quiet and thats that.

The controller grip that was thrown in was actually awesome.Gave better grip to wireless controller.Doesnt reduce the dual shock capabilities at all and prevents sweaty hand controller slip. The light blue color is great to and helps when scrambling for it in the dark.Fits controller nice and snug so no worry about shifting.

So in closing fans crappy and unneeded dont buy. Controller skin best darn thing I got recommended to anyone who is unhappy with the slippery controllers.

OK, the game itself isn't that bad. Despite the cheesy graphics and goofy storyline, the music is actually OK.

My bad review is on the instrument peripherals.

The airstrike drums are completely frustrating and UNfun. They don't register hits half the time. You're not actually playing drums, you're striking the air with the drumsticks. The IR sensor has to be exactly aligned with the drum sensors and you have to "shake" it to get it to register the hit. It definitely does not feel like you're really playing drums. Do yourself a favor, use a Rock Band drum kit.

And then the "real guitar." It really is technically a real guitar, that you can use to play this game. But it's mostly a gimmick-don't expect to actually learn how to play guitar. This is a rhythm game just like guitar hero, except you're using a real guitar with strings instead of a plastic guitar with buttons.

The only addition is the option to play "power chords". The game uses a whopping TWO power chords-one uses two fingers and one uses one finger-and the fingering is exactly the same no matter where it's played on the fretboard. A monkey can learn how to do that.

Actually playing the song with the power chord option, I did not find to be very much fun either.

If you want to learn real guitar skills I suggest you get Rock Band 3 and buy the pro guitar peripheral.

It is a fun game but pretty difficult. I thought I would be pretty good because I can play a mean regular guitar hero guitar but I found it to be very difficult. You deffinatly need tough fingers. It comes with a pic. I bought it for my 12 year old son for Christmas. He doesn't play it much. I think he would rather play the original guitar. It does work with all of the Rock Bands and Guitar Hero Games. I do also like that you can hook it up to an amp and use it like a regular electric guitar.

Second Update 12/16/2008: UPS just dropped a package from Mad Catz. They didn't fix my broken cymbal, they sent me an entirely new package, cymbal, mounting hardware and all.

No note included saying what was wrong, or anything, just a new cymbal. It looks like it's been handled, which probably means that someone tested it out to make sure it worked right, before they sent it to me (or that it's a refurbished.)

I tried it out, and all seems well. Kudos to Mad Catz for the excellent customer service. Their site says 4 to 6 weeks, and it only took 12 days from drop off, to return. I'm psyched.

Update: After playing for an hour or so this afternoon, it's evident that one of my cymbals is defective. It's sometimes registering two hits, instead of one. I called Mad Catz, and the guy I got was super friendly, extremely understanding, and set me up with an RMA. He said the website suggested 4-6 weeks, but realistically, it's more like 2 to 3. I'll update again when I get the new cymbal to see if it's working properly. I'm glad I didn't just try returning it to Amazon to get another, they appear to be completely sold out everywhere I've checked today. Glad I pre-ordered mine 3 months ago.

My three pack finally arrived last night, and I was psyched to get them. Ever since they were announced, I've been excited about them. The way I assumed they worked, was actually different than how they do work. More on that later.

First, some images, to show how freaking cool they look:

The whole kitHi-Hat CymbalRide Cymbal

The cymbals certainly give the drums the look of a real drumkit (okay, at least a real electronic drumkit,) but how do they play?

They take some getting used to, that's for sure. I just got them last night, so I'm still in the adjusting phase. But right from the get go, my wife said "You look like you're having more fun." Which I totally was. It felt like I was playing more realistically than I had without the cymbals.

When I first bought the cymbals, I assumed that they would just act as extenders of their respective colors. So when you'd hit the blue, it made whatever sound the blue one should at that specific point in time. As Rock Banders know, the drums pretty much all double as cymbals or drums, depending on the part of the song. I was pleasantly surprised that the new cymbal pads are dedicated as cymbals. So, if you hit the "ride" cymbal, it makes the ride cymbal no matter what. Same for the hi-hat, and crash cymbals.

It may throw your brain off, when you hit the cymbal when it's a tom-tom in the game, and you hear the wrong sound, but it won't break your streak, or count against your overall score. As long as you hit the right color, the sound that the game makes doesn't matter.

My favorite thing about the other game, you know, that one I returned already, was that there were dedicated cymbal pads with their drumkit. The Rock Band 2 drumkit, with the Mad Catz add-on cymbal pack (a measely $29.99) is 100% totally, absolutely better than GHWT's, hands down.

The game is more fun when playing drums, with the cymbals. It's more realistic, and more creative. I especially dig that during the "Overdrive fills", you can be a lot more musical with the drums, with dedicated toms/cymbals. If you're a die hard drummer for a Rock Band band, you absolutely need to spend the $29.99 to get these cymbals, pronto.

First of all the Mad Catz Triple Expansion Cymbals works like a charm. It adds great depth of play when playing as the drummer in Rock Band.

I've seen several reviews here that says that the cymbals slips when it was hit too hard and sometimes the cymbals double-hits when hit too hard.

Well I found a fix for these problems.

Cymbals Slipping:

You must ensure that the plastic locks that holds the aluminum tube snaps 'locks' into place with the other half of it. There must not be a space in between the two plastic locks other than the circular areas which hold the drum aluminum tube and the cymbal aluminum tube. But be careful once they're locked it can be very difficult to separate the two plastics.

Cymbals Double-hit:

I noticed that one of the three cymbals I got was too sensitive. When I hit it hard, the game registers two hits. You can try this by going to the main menu and assigning the sensitive cymbal into the BLUE (ride) port. Try hitting it hard and you will notice that on the Menu selection screen it will go down from QUICKPLAY -> TOUR -> TRAINING. This is clearly a double hit because it skipped the TOUR on the menu. And for the fix, try loosening up the wing nuts in such a way that the cymbals will bounce a little when hit. This would transfer the bounce force into the foam and not the cymbal sensor. After trying this and testing with songs with lots of cymbals (Dead on Arrival) I noticed that I never missed a note again when hitting the sensitive cymbal.

I hope this helps lots of people having problems with the Mad Catz Cymbals Triple Pack.

Buy Rock Band 2 Triple Cymbal Expansion Kit Now

I think it's great to expand the RB2 kit--just four pads and a pedal--using cymbals to add some variety to playing the tracks, but these come up a little short in that area.

Admittedly, they're something of a bargain when you compare them to real electronic cymbals, so the question becomes whether the shortcomings are worth the price.

Ultimately, I'd say these are for two types of player:

1. people who are really starting to get into drumming and are wondering if they'd want to take the big leap into the Ion Drum Rocker.

2. people who want to expand their Rock Band gameplay.

In the end, I'd say they really don't serve either group completely. They're a lot louder than the standard RB2 pads and have a tendency to come loose if you hit them a lot, so they're not really comparable to the sort of professional experience you get with the Ion.

The other aspect is a bit trickier to explain. While the cymbals add a lot of flash to fills and free-form playing by being mapped to their own sounds (Yellow Hi-Hat, Blue Ride, Green Crash), giving you eight total sounds in those modes, that flash doesn't carry over to the songs themselves.

In the main of the song, the game only knows you're playing Yellow, not that it's the Hi-Hat. As a result, you end up listening to the song while you play to determine if you're on the "right" target for the sound that's coming out...is that green note a Tom or a Crash? This adds an extra layer of complexity to playing and requires that you learn the song a bit differently from if you're just playing the drum pads.

The volume of striking the cymbals is kind of a turn-off, too: now that Harmonix has delivered a much quieter drum kit, adding the cymbals suddenly makes it about as loud to hit as the RB1 kit had been. It's not bad if you've got the volume up, but if you're playing at night and trying to keep the noise down, you may find yourself hearing the tap of your sticks against the cymbals and little else.

The last minus is the way they mount. The hardware is secure enough, though a bit difficult to assemble exactly as directed and very difficult to disassemble, but the design of the cymbal mounts doesn't work quite the way the instructions imply. Supporting the cymbal is a wedge that serves the dual purpose of keeping the cymbal's active edge turned toward you and which also allows it some tilt. The problem is, to get it to tilt, you need to loosen the nut that secures it in place. Given that that nut likes to ride the vibrations and unscrew itself while you play, getting it loose enough to allow for significant tilt can be pretty frustrating.

As a result, they end up mounted more-or-less horizontally, which takes away from the "real drummer" experience they're supposed to be providing.

UPDATE: See the pictures I added at the top to get an idea of what the kit looks like, and what the clamps should look like when properly installed if you're having trouble.

I've has this set almost two months now and they still work and look perfect. No problems at all, and well worth the $. These have been played by both of my teen aged boys, and a professional drummer, and they all love them!

I bought these on release day and have not had the slightest regret.

My biggest gripe with the basic drums you get with Rock Band 1 and 2 is that they have no cymbals, and the pads aren't laid out like the real deal. It's not as big of a deal when you play the guitar parts, you expect them to be a cut down version of the real thing. It doesn't matter how much you play the guitar parts, it's not going to help much when it comes to playing a real guitar. The drums are different. If you actually learn the tempos, and get good at your timing, this will transfer to the real thing.

If you use these in practice mode they will output the sounds of a real set of electronic drums, including the bass, snare, toms, and floor tom, as well as the high hat, crash, and ride cymbals. You can play this set in practice mode, and accompany any song you choose to play through your system.

Are they as big a deal in the game itself? Not quite. But it's better to get used to playing on something laid out like a real set and a lot more fun. If you just want to play the game and aren't interested in getting good at drumming they aren't as big of a deal.

These are velocity sensitive and will react with more volume the harder they're hit.

These DO NOT work with the Rock Band 1 set of drums. They do work with all sets of RB2 drums as well as all game systems.

This set is very well constructed and well worth the money. If you like to play the drums on RB and GHWT, and want the extra challenge of playing with cymbals, don't pass up either this three piece kit, or the two piece kit.

For some reason the picture shows the cymbals really close together. If you set them up right they can be positioned like a normal drum and cymbal set. Not the bunched up mess the Madcatz picture shows.

See my photos at the top to get a better understanding of how the clamps work, and also how they can be spaced out better.

Cymbals work, as advertised, and are a great supplement to the overall drum system.

I am a little bit perplexed about the negative reviews stating that they are "too sensitive" or that it was difficult to put together.

After reading said reviews, I timed myself to see how long it would take to put all 3 together. The result was 9 minutes and 23 seconds with no difficulties.

As for the "too sensitive" part, I tried 5 different songs and alternated between drum pad and cymbal use. Both pads and cymbals still responded with single hits, no missed hits, and no "double" hits. I suggest that if you are experiencing double hits, it might be that the cymbals are not screwed down tight enough and the wobbling could introduce more than one hit.

As for my own personal experience, the product is well-made and has already enhanced the overall experience. They are by no means a necessary addition, but they are certainly a fun one. What makes them even more fun is that they can be used in the drums' "free style mode" where all 4 pads play as different sounding drums with 3 different sounding cymbals. It's not a professional drum set, but you can certainly play it like one and it sounds great. Hit the "-" sign and you can play different drum kits programmed into Rock Band 2.

From an experienced gamer, I highly recommend this product and rock on!

Even though i don't understand the Japanese language, the game is not that hard to understand as Menu is in English and the Missions aren't too complicated either. The biggest point for me is the addition of "Full Metal Panic!" characters and mechas.

I recommend it to every fan of the Mecha-genre!

These are a blessing in disguise. I purchased both sets, the stars for our Rock Band drums and the skulls for our Wii drums. They both fit nicely but they do not fill out the entire drum surface on the Wii like it does on the Rock Band drums. I just had to center them correctly and it left like a 1/4 inch gap from the edges. Nothing to really worry about since you don't really hit that section of the drum. The best part is that I no longer hear that BOOM BOOM of pounding of drums. Instead it is more like a tap tap. The pads adhere easily and stays in place. The drumsticks themselves are worth the asking price. They are solid and heavy duty. There is no issues with missing any notes, the pads due not cause any conflicts with the pad sensors.

A parent's must have!

These were sooo cool when we first got them. They looked great on the drums & they did help silence the noice. However, within 2 weeks time they one by one started to fall off because the sticky adhesive on the backs of them obviously was cheap. I DON'T reccommend these at all. :(

These look cool and are easy to put on. However, dont really silence the drums much. The Drumsticks are cheaply made and very light and the part you hold is much fatter then average drum sticks. I would recommend the pads because they look cool but we never use the drum sticks.

The skins came quickly and looked great. Very easy to install and they stick very well to the drum pads.

After just a day or two of normal use though I noticed the red pad started showing heavy wear. Huge cracks and holes that make the pad look torn and not silenced as well as the others.

The drum sticks look and feel great. Light and smooth. Much better than the sticks that came with the Rock Band 2 kit.

Still searching for the perfect pads that muffle the loud sound and wrap around the outer rim that makes such a horrible sound when it is hit.

Might see if my wife can knit something up that works better than these.

For the price, getting the pads for just a few months and getting the better drum sticks makes it worth the trouble....

While these do look really cool and the colors are more visible the pads did not last long. We had them a few weeks before the adhesive backing let go and they started to slip around on the drum head. Once that happened they never stuck again. The printed graphics started to crack and the foamy/neoprene like material the pads are made of was easily gouged. The drum sticks are holding up ok. They are lighter then the plain wooden ones that came with our RB2 set.

I wouldn't order these silencers again and would return them if it wasn't such a hassle.

Many people will say this is Sony's version of Mario Kart and it kinda is but oh so fun to play! Its better than Mario Kart as you can customize your kart, player, and (the best part) your own tracks! I literally spent hours building over a dozen tracks, the possiblities are endlesss. Since I am also a fan of Gran Turismo, I constantly spend time re-creating tracks from it. The only con I would say about this game is that there are few power-ups in the game. There are four to be exact but each one can be upgraded by collecting item pods. They can reach up to level 3 and have different effects from the previous level. My siblings and cousins all had a blast playing split-screen with up to four players. This is a crazy fun game for a family night or just for fun.

Over 3 years later, and I still find myself loading this game up. Whether it's to race other players online, playing up to 4 people split screen with friends at home, or racing online with a buddy on the same couch on over 2 million user created tracks, karts, and mods with a dozen people.

The controls are tight and intuitive and creating your own race tracks has proven to be unbelievably addicting. (I'm still making tracks today) There's nothing like racing on a track that you're proud of building, complete with shortcuts, obstacles to avoid, and risk/reward scenarios aplenty. And for a kart racing game, the game play has never been more fair and balanced due to the players ability to earn boost that fills up a meter which you can then burn off to activate a shield to defend against oncoming offenses if you activate it with just the right timing.

Anyone that's looking for a FUN game with that instant gratification feel to it, not unfamiliar to Mario kart games, only a lot better (sorry Mario) should check out this game now if you haven't yet. It's so cheap now, you can't go wrong.
