This is a great controller, I'm going to start with the good things and the bad things

the good things: it has sweet LED lights, it has 2 rumble pads (it vibrates), the controller feels so natural in my hands, you can enable turbo fire by pressing any button and then pressing the button on top of the PS button,

the bad things: there is only one bad thing that is a big yet a small problem, the dead zone, for you who do not know what a dead zone is, it is the amount of space you can move an analog stick before it will respond. The dead zone is huge on the controller and if you are used to the original PS3 controller then it will take a week or two to get used to.And one more thing, if you press the PS button it wont turn on the PS3.

HOW TO USE: it will come with a usb thing (sorry i dont know what its called), you get the usb and stick it into your PS3, and press connect until the light flickers really fast then press the controller's Ps button until it flickers really fast and it will connect,

if you already had it connected and turned your PS3 off, when you turn it on , just turn the button behind the controller to 'ON' and then it should automatically turn on

I hope you decide to buy thing controller AS IT IS AWESOME, great for first person shooters, like call of duty

and i hope you enjoyed my review

I really liked this controller when I first saw it and decided to get it because it was cheaper than the actual Sony controller and it glowed my favorite color. The only thing that disappointed me was that it wasn't completely wireless.. meaning it has a separate receiver to plug in but is still wireless, and that it isn't motion sensitive which isn't stated in the first place. The trigger buttons are a little more firm, and it doesn't turn on the system by itself, oh and you need some AAA batteries to run it, but other than that, it's pros outweigh the cons, it's still wireless, you can get rechargeable batteries, and the closer buttons make them easier to hit more than one especially on games where you need them. The LEDs are really bright and work great, and it works just like a regular controller. Good buy.

FYI, I bought this controller at a local game shop, not Amazon.

When I bought my PS3, I knew I needed an extra controller. The Sony brands were selling in store for over $50, and the dreamGear DGPS3-1372 was about $30.

Pros:

I like the feel of the dreamGear controller better than the Sony Dualshock. The DGPS3-1372 is slightly larger than the Sony Dualshock, most notably the "handles" are a bit longer, fitting my hands better. The dreamGear has a more solid feel. The plastic shell seems harder and stiffer, so it feels more substantial.

Cons:

Since it uses a separate USB dongle for wireless connectivity, it will use up one of your USB ports (my PS3 only has 2 USB ports, so that is significant).

It cannot be used to turn on the PS3. The dreamGear uses USB, the Dualshock uses Bluetooth. The USB doesn't have power until the PS3 is already turned on, so it can't be used to turn on the console.

No rechargeable battery. The dreamGear uses AAA batteries. They're easy to find, easy to replace, but the cost adds up. In the 9 months that I've had mine, I've easily spent $15 on batteries, probably closer to 20. So the total cost of the dreamGear may be higher in the long run.

After 9 months the "X" button spring has worn out. I've played on the controller for many hours, so wear and tear is to be expected. The button still works, but doesn't spring back up quickly. For games that require you to quickly press the button, you're out of luck.

So now I need a replacement. And in spite of my list of Cons, I'm seriously considering buying another dreamGear. I like playing games on this controller. It has a good feel.

This game deserves a 5 star rating for many reasons. I purchased the game for my 11 year old, and she loves it! My 9 year old and my 13 year old found that they cannot put it down! I personally think this is great, because even though it is fun, it also stimulates a child brain growth. There are 4 separate accounts, so we all get to play and share the game without fights! Another thing, you can play it anytime, any day.

I would recommend this game to any working parent or guardian, or to any child who enjoys a challenge every once in a while.

This game is not really a game; it is a tool filled with various puzzles and activities aimed at improving the gray matter between your ears. I am a young adult, happening to have an above-average IQ and who does math and sudoku for fun, so this game was right up my alley.

The controls are simple and relatively easy-to-use and responsive, the only problem having been a somewhat poor voice recognition system for the color exercise.

There is a decent array of activities to exercise your brain, so you aren't doing the same two things repetitively. I enjoy watching my brain age fluctuate it is calculated by your proficiency and speed in the exercises, which will vary depending on how tired you are, how focused you are, and whether or not you ate breakfast!

This "diagnostic tool" is for fun rather than an absolutely accurate indicator of your brain's age, and if you enjoy sudoku and puzzles, I highly doubt you'll be dissatisfied with this game.

I purchased a used copy and it is easily possible to delete previous profiles, so don't be afraid of getting the game at an excellent price :)

Happy brain training!

ModNation Racers seeks to do what no other kart racer has done; allow unlimited customization and involve a community to be creative and share their ideas. While it's similar to LittleBigPlanet because of the "Race, Create, Share" tag that Sony and United Front Games have put onto this title, I feel that it expands on this idea even further than Media Molecule's hit. The controls and interface a simple to navigate and the developer went to great lengths to personalize the experience with ModNation Racers.

Everything you do within the game occurs in the ModSpot. A central hub where about 5 other players (when you're online) will congregate and you can see them drive around. There are all kinds of things to do in the ModSpot. Here you have access to the races, including Online, Online Split-Screen (up to 2 players split-screen), Offline Split-Screen (up to 4 players split-screen) and the Career Mode.

The Online racing experience is pretty smooth. Players can join a random match, or they can host matches with their friends, or just for other players to join. You can choose to race with "XP Mode" where your online profile will gain XP to rank up among other players. The competition is pretty intense though, so make sure you're familiar with how to handle the karts before heading to this mode. If you're not in the "XP" mood, you can just race casually for fun. All of your stats from races are tracked to your profile, and you can see the stats for each track that you've raced on as well.

Driving karts is a breeze. I equate this something slightly more complicated than Mario Kart 64. You accelerate and brake, fire weapons after picking up the powerups, and you *absolutely* must learn how to drift. Pressing and holding the 'X' button allows you to perform a drift around corners which fills a boost meter on the side of the screen. The boost meter is used for sideswiping opponents, boosting your speed, or using the shield equipped to your kart. It will take a lot of practice to get the timing down on your shield as it only lasts a few seconds with a full meter of boost, but it can make the difference between placing 1st and getting blown away at the last second of the final lap. Weapons come in 3 different styles: Missiles, Lightning and Sonic attacks. Each powerup can be upgraded up to 3 times. Stage 1 attacks are pretty light and can only hit 1 car (the Sonic level 1 weapon has a pulse discharged from around the car so it could potentially hit multiple enemies), Stage 2 attacks will hit 2 to 3 racers in front of you, and level 3 attacks can knock everyone out (think 'Blue Shell' from Mario Kart) if you manage to fire it from last place. It can be difficult to do this though, as if you are hit with a weapon, you will lose your current weapon and have to pick up a new powerup. Weapons appear to be random too, just like other kart racers.

So far, it sounds like a pretty good game right? Well, it is; the only catch is that with each thing that you do in this game, you might as well take a bathroom break or go fix a sandwich, because you will literally be waiting over a minute for some of the tracks to load. Not that this is a game-breaking deal for me though, the developer has stated that they will be patching the game to reduce load times which will be a well-liked feature when it is finally released.

The Career mode pits you the player against 25 different courses with challenges and shortcuts littered throughout the courses. It will probably take you a few tries to beat each track, especially since there are "achievements" within each track to unlock new items used in the Creation Studios. You will likely want to collect all of these, as the creation tools expand exponentially every time you add a new item to your creative pallet. Some of these challenges are "Grudge Matches", where after defeating an opponent on the track AND finishing 1st place, that opponent will challenge you 1-on-1 for the right to use their mod in the game. These matches are TOUGH, and you will need to be an expert at the course and handling your kart if you even are going to stand a fighting chance at beating these. Also littered on each course are tokens that can be used to purchase new items in the Shop, which is located in the ModSpot and the Creation Studio.

Now for the cream of the crop: the Creation Studio. Everyone has likely been comparing this game to Little Big Planet because of the customization you can do. In my opinion, this allows way more customization of your character than LittleBigPlanet. Through the use of unlocked accessories, hair pieces, clothing, shoes, gloves, hats, eyes, ears, noses, mouths, etc. you have the option to make your character as strange or awesome as you see fit! After putting the body together, you can change the color of anything you place on your mod, including different styles (which can be tweaked with a full color wheel) that can be unlocked. The color system is something that I tremendously applaud for this game. Anytime you place an object on your mod, or use something of a certain color, that color is added to either of the "Mod Colors", or "Kart Colors", so you can easily match colors and set things up just the way you want quickly and easily. It's so easy I was able to create look-alike characters from TV shows and movies within just a few minutes. There also is an aspect of stickers for the creation studios where you can layer and tweak each and every sticker that you want to put on your mod. From shapes, letters, numbers and other decals like flames, etc. you can dream up your imagination and put it on your mod or kart. Then you can resize, rotate, skew, cut, copy, layer and repaste your sticker designs on other parts of your mod or kart and even save them as sticker sets to use again later.

Each portion of the Creation Studio is divided into sub-menus which are not too complicated, but you will need more than just the game's instruction manual to become a master. UFG really did an excellent job with the creators, allowing simple creation, or really advanced creation. Each part you put on your mod or kart can be left as is when it first goes on, or you can dive into the deep customization abilities to create something so genuine that only you could create it. The L2 and R2 buttons are used to move to the next "area" of that specific menu, and the L1 button is usually reserved for advanced / basic edit toggling. The triangle button is typically the color option, whereby a color wheel can be viewed by pressing triangle again. Once you get the system under your belt you'll be amazed at the creations that you can come up with in ModNation Racers.

To top it off, you can then select your mods and karts that you have created, OR downloaded to race with friends and online/offline. That's right. Upload your creations to the PlayStation Network, and let other people download them. You can also allow players to "remix" your creation, where they will edit your creation and then re-upload it to the PSN. You still get the "creator" credit, and they get the remix credit. This system is absolutely solid, and it works extremely well. The Share spot of ModNation Racers is really easy to use and the developers took care to make sure that the karts, mods and tracks people create would be easy to find and download. There's an area for "Most Downloaded", "Most Raced", "Newest", or you can search by keywords which are used to describe your creation when you publish it.

The Track Studio is the only creator I haven't talked about. It's massive, and incredibly deep. Choose from 1 of 4 themes for your track and you drive a steam-roller to pave your track. You can create a simple loop, or you can go back and add monster jumps, bridges, tunnels, bank the road, make it narrow, add road hazards like construction barrels, crates, even rotating platforms. I could literally write a whole review on just this editor. It is that deep. You can change the elements and the direction that the sun shines, level of the water, and the type of road you will drive on. You can also create shortcuts, forks in the road, and add boost pads and weapons. Just like in LittleBigPlanet, all of the tracks in the career mode were made using the Track Studio. It's just incredible.

I played this game for literally 7 hours straight and I could not stop playing. It is FUN to play, and the community's imagination will blow you away. I saw downright amazing mods that looked like Mario, Iron Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and even the Master Chief from Halo. Over the coming months players will upload unlimited content to choose from, and race from. If you don't like what other players do, create your own! It's that easy. Oh, and if you're worried about creating a super-looking track that people would actually want to play, you can just Auto-Populate your track in the editor which automatically adds scenery and gameplay items to the track so it looks like it took hours to make, when in reality it was only mere minutes.

I've waited a long time for a game like this to surface. Finally we have something on the PS3 which rivals the greatest kart racers of all time. Long load times will be fixed down the road, but the next generation of kart racing is here. If you're skeptical about your purchase, download the demo off the PSN. Trust me though when I say, if you buy this game, you will NOT be disappointed.

Modnation Racers is the newest Kart Racing game in the Genre, and in my opinion, it is way ahead of the competition. Of course, this game is being compared to Mario Kart. Having never played the newest Mario Kart for Wii, I can't really compare the two much. I have, although played the older Mario Kart, and if the Wii version is nearly the same, I believe Modnation Racers tops it.

The Good: Modnation Racers is the kind of game that anybody can enjoy. The Track, Mod, and Kart creator are super simple and it has loads of different hairstyles, clothes, shoes, stickers, accessories, etc. I can easily see this having a huge library of user created content just like LittleBigPlanet. When you start the game, you automatically are entered into the MRC Qualifiers race and after a brief introduction you are taken to the ModSpot. Here is where everything happens on Modnation Racers, such as entering Online races, Split Screen, and Career races. There is also an area where Top Mods and Karts are displayed. I've seen mods of Mario, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Joker, and many more. With this many mods in just a few days, I'm positive there will be a TON of amazing mods in weeks. Other players connected to the PSN are also in the same ModSpot as you and can just ride around drifting or just simply enter one of the areas in the ModSpot.

The controls are also great. Drifting is easy and insanely addicting. When racing an Action Race, collect pods and you receive weapons. If you're tired of getting blown up, select Pure Race. Before you enter a race in the Career Mode, there is a little cinematic, sometimes with these two Hosts, or with you and your mechanic. These cinematics are filled with humor to give you a laugh or two before a race.

The Bad: The load and install times on this game can get ridiculously long. Though it's not something to keep you away from the game, sometimes you'll just want to jump into a race but have to wait almost an entire minute to begin. Mic support is a good feature, but I wish there wasn't so many people cursing and talking crap through their headsets, but there isn't really a way to fix that. Other than those two things listed, there really isn't much I've run into that is degrading to the game. *One more bad I ran into recently is that it takes forever to start up an XP race, which is what gives you the chance to progress on the Multiplayer side of Modnation. I'm not sure if people just don't know their way around the menus, or they all want to just race casually. Although it's a little disappointing as of now, I'm positive that in a short amount of time there will be much more people on the XP races*

Overall, in just a few days that people have had the game, there has been some really neat creations coming from the community. Hopefully in the future, there will be an update to help the load times.

All PS3 owners, GET THIS... or at least try it. :)

Buy Modnation Now

Lets make one thing clear right off: if you liked LittleBigPlanet and you like Mario Kart and other cart racers... stop reading and buy this game now!

Especially at the current price listed on Amazon (plus 10$ credit) which leads me to beleive its not selling well becasue people are hesitant, I can understadn that, so was I but a little preorder premotion and I thought "what the heck?" and I'm glad I made the plunge even at full fair (I got my Ratchet and Clank Mods for it so I'm happy)

That said, this game really surprised me, as I said before this was somethign of an impulse for me, I enjoyed the demo well enough for waht it was, but what really pushed me over the top was the preorder R+C mods, they get me every time :)

The first thing that I was surprised by was the imediate plunge into a rather enjoyable story including cutscenes which for some reason I did not expect at all. The story is somethign of a remix between Pixar's Cars, Days of Thudner, and Talldega Nights, and althoug the influence is storng, it has its own twist and flavor coupled with fantastic voice acting, the results are gold. The two announcers really steal the show, which is good becasue you'll be listening to alot of them, they have yet to get repetitive for me but its only been a day.

The racing, which i enjoyed in the demo, was not done justice by said demo. its great, drifting is much easier to pull off than Mario Kart, even the wii iteration which is incredibly drift friendly. But thats part-in-parcell with the MNR attitude, drifting is easiy and FUN, boosts are plentiful, jumps are abundant and weapons are thouroughly satisfying (you might remember soem of them from Mario Kart, adn the rest from wipeout ;) )

Right away I was amazed with the user creations in Character Mods, Kart Mods, and Courses. I'll save discusion of coruses for one paragraph. The Mods peopel have made are AMAZING considering its day one. It's definately a diparture from the LBP attitude where Sackboy retained his likness no mattter what making certain customues something of a technical feat. In MRC the tools are much more robust, and the result is (among other's) and Iron MAn that you'd swear was designed in Maya as opposed to in-game. KArts are the same thing, I'm currently racing around on a perfect replica of the A-team van, how awesome?

Course creation is ABSURDLY easy, another departure from LBP. I made two courses in barely 20 minutes total which I'm sure would impress my friends, but when you sample soem of the things created by a truely dedicated player, well the results speak for themselves.

Unfortunately this leads me into the only bad... they did a great job which this hub world where other onlien palyers race around with you, very reminiscant of Home, but its pretty hard to get into an online game as it stands. I wasn't feling very patient so I din't bother wating around for peopel to join me, especailly as they would enevitably be strangers. Unfortuantely none of my freinds have purchased this game which might make a difference but if you liek me, most likly alone in your friend group on you interest in this game, you might find getting into an actual online race a bit of a pain. this combined with soem rather cumbersome loading times is a bit of a stumblign block on what is otherwise non-stop fun. But on the other hand the ability to access other peoples content on you own time is incredibly easiy, with fantastic AI on nonplayer opponents, adn a time trail mode which allows you to feel like your part of a larger comunnity without hte hassle of finding any of them to race with you.

And the single palyer circuit is fantastic! That alone will keep me happy for hours I'm sure.

All in all, this game is a great Kart racer, with very robust user creation tools and a well thoughout and setup infastructure for sahring them, clearly United Front Games learned from LBP in this regard. But for a game which is so clearly ment for online play its a bit difficult to get into a gme and more importantly share a game with others. To be fair, some of this is equation has to do with the ammount of user's, but it felt like I only had access to one game option when I tried to join, whcih was empty, an no one joined my hosted games, its hard to say why, it jsut was. I will edit if this experience drmatically changes. But also the laod times are a bit logner then we have coem to expect, I've heard a patch is comming but this game was day one patched as well...

But I don't want to end on hat note because this game really blew my mind in all the right ways and if you have an interest in the genre then its a steal at full price let alone what its listed on Amazon. You will not be sorry you picked up this little gem. Obviously thsoe who dislike Kart Racing games need not aply.

P.S. for the record I own and LOVE Mario Kart Wii, this game is not a MK killer, but its worthy to be right up there with it.

Read Best Reviews of Modnation Here

To start off with, the game play of this title is Fun with a capital F. Think Mario Kart on steroids. The user created content that you can download is unbelievable. I am amazed by the artistic ability of people. But by now, you've read the other reviews about the game play , etc etc, so I will not go into the details just to beat a dead horse.

For me, as much fun and original as this game is, I find myself thinking about returning it to Game Stop or simply selling it on eBay.

One of the features that was in Mario Kart which I absolutely loved and would be game-breaking without, was the different "cup" series. Each MK cup series had its own difficulties based on tracks and opponents. MNR does not have a single player version. There is a multi player mini-series (if can really call it that), where you can play 5 tracks in succession. That's fine and dandy except I don't think I've finished a singles series. Maybe got through two or three races before the other players dropped.

The career mode was very hard and I'm not knocking it at all, but I would have liked it a lot better had they included a true championship mode (even if you need to unlock it somehow) where you can race some/all the tracks in a series against the elite CPU drivers that you faced in the career mode storyline; a series that would tally points for you and the computer, based on your finishing position of each race and let you race all the tracks and give a 'Champion' at the end. What you are given instead, is a career mode angled toward the user created content. Most of your unlocks during the play through are for cosmetic tools and graphics for your track/mod/kart creations down the line. Also, once you go through the career mode and go back and run a previous race in it...it still splashes the same cut scenes you already encountered at the same points. In fact, if you re-race a track in career mode, you actually unlock the same items you've already unlocked. I'm not sure why they even called it a "Career Mode", it should have been titled "Story Mode". Even though they do include some rudimentary stats for your 'offline' play, there really is no offline career to be had. All career-"centric" play time is centered on the online-multi player scene.

And currently the online multiplayer piece of this game is lacking. Most of the time, you enter an online race and you are the first one in the lobby. It could easily take 5-10 minutes to get enough players (4) to start a race. If you are lucky, those players will stick around for another race afterwards. If not, it starts from square one, with you waiting for other players to join.

I am sure, without a doubt, that the load times for the races and the multi player aspect of the game will be fixed with future patches and I don't have a problem waiting for it; my main beef is not having the single player option to run a series as it completely ruins the re-playability of MNR for me. So all in all, if you are into creativity and multi-player racing is your thing, then this game is for you. As I said, with the glaring problems the game has in the online world, I have no doubt they are working on a fix and you should definitely go out and buy this title.

Want Modnation Discount?

I've only owned ModNation Racers for a couple days, but I'm already absolutely certain this is the best kart racer ever made (sorry Mario Kart). This is, simply put, the LittleBigPlanet of racing games.

The base game and tracks are fun in themselves, but the real beauty here lies with all of the customization. Everything from your racer, your kart, to every little detail of the track you're making is fully customizable. You can choose to make your racer into somebody famous, or choose to make them into something totally outlandish. All the options and how to utilize them are easily learned, so much so that my kids were creating some pretty impressive things in almost no time at all. Even the track creator is amazingly simple to use, much more so than LittleBigPlanet's level creator.

The load times can get a bit tedious, but with how smooth the frame rates and overall gameplay are, it's well worth the wait. Replay value is tremendous, and the community is already loaded with user-created content to check out. This game is definitely kid friendly in almost all aspects, but if you let your kids play online I wouldn't recommend letting them wear a headset, as foul language is rampant and not moderated. That's not the game's fault though, it's pretty much the same with any other online-enabled game out there.

Overall, ModNation Racers is a great game, and I would highly recommend it for young and old alike.

I grew up in Europe being a fan of the series in the late 80's / early 90's would still catch episodes when i can. i have always wished for this game and it was finally a reality. Being able to play with beautifully rendered childhood heroes is priceless...

yes the game can be repetitive but true fans will never get enough using their special moves and exploding their cosmos! i have already spend some 30 hours on it in the first 2 weeks.

The soundtrack is Japanese and adds to the realism of this game. there are subtitles and menus are in English.

a must must have for fans of the series.

God of War III: Ultimate Edition

This is my video review of God of war 3 ultimate edition. I made the video to show a little more detail than what can be written.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

This review's coming from someone who doesn't flip out over everything God of War-related, or says that you should get something just because it has to do with God of War. Face itfor the price this 'ultimate' edition's going for, you probably want to be getting your money's worth, right? I hadn't played God of War 3 until I got this set just last week, and I didn't spend more than retail for it, but even then, I can't see how this is an 'ultimate' edition of God of War 3.

First up, the main selling point of this editionPandora's Box. It's a cheaply made plastic box that looks just like the one in the game. The plastic they used to make this is very soft, and you can probably snap the horns off of the sides with even a tiny bit of effort. There isn't a lot of fine detail on this, and it looks a lot like some kind of Halloween decoration you'd find at a party store in October. The bottom of the box has no detail at all either. This could make a decent box to hold candy in style, but given how it looks in-person, there's not a lot of style to it.

When you open Pandora's Box, the art book is waiting for you. This is probably the best thing about this set, aside from the game, and it's a lot better than the one that got released in the UK, which was rushed and had the same quality as your typical instruction manual. The US art book is a hardcover book, about 100 pages, and features tons of great art. Enemies, scenery, sketches, there's a lot of impressive work and if you're one of those fans that wants a GoW tattoo, this would be a good book to scout. The book isn't that big since it had to fit in Pandora's Box, but I don't have any complaints about it because you can see everything clearly.

Under the book, you'll see a black ribbon on the side of the 'bottom' of the box. Pull it up and it turns out that it was guarding a secret compartment (well, I use that term loosely) where the game is. Nope, there are no cds for the soundtracks that the box advertises, but instead, they're included as DLC, along with the Dominus skin, Exile Arena and documentary. There's a code for each bonus inside of the game case. The game features the same art as the retail version, and is identical except it doesn't have a bar code, and just says 'not for resale' in its place.

When it comes down to it, this sucker going for over a Benjamin is a rip-off. The game alone is worth around half of that, the DLC is cheap on its own (hint hint), the art book is nice but you can always find the same images online, and Pandora's Box is a joke. I know you can't expect much of a replica for the price, but they sure as heck coulda tried harder. Maybe if they included the God of War Collection like the UK version did, I'd be more forgiving since it'd be more for your buck. And if this is supposed to be the be-all edition of God of War 3, why include just one of the many skins available? Why not include all of them? But as it is, you're better off just getting the game on its own, and then getting the DLC separately.

I think Kratos would've went off about REVENGE(!) and tracked down those responsible for making it if he had seen this set.

The advertisement showed a special offer when buying the God of War box which should come with a bonus features. However the printed promotion codes which came inside the box were valid only until 2011. I contact PlayStation customers services asking for updated codes to download the extras, but they informed is not possible to produce a new voucher or extend the expiration date of the promotion codes. I'm very desapointed.

Hi, I decide to write this review, because I feel disappointed with the ultimate edition of GOW 3, and here's why

1. The box is on cheap plastic.

2. Downloadable Content skins, if your codes works, but is not a great deal.

3. The music, also downloadable content, again if your codes works, is pure mp3(not a good format for music, only for weight of the files) I will prefer physical discs.

4. The documental, again downloadable content, and like the music it will be better in a physical disc.

So is $100 for a disc that is a game, a book with art and a box of cheap plastic, and the rest is downloadable content, so the rate is for the content in the ultimate edition, but the game is a 5 star.

I recommend Don't buy it, is not worth, buy better the standard edition and you will save a lot of money, don't make the same mistake that I did.

The Good: Mass amounts of improvements, absolutely beautiful and epic on every scale, excellent boss fights, lots of extras

The Bad: Unbalanced difficulty, story takes a dive towards the end, it ends

Well here it is. After waiting 3 years we finally get the ending to one of the best video game series ever created. The biggest question that people have is if the game is enough to stand on its own out of the other next generation games. The answer is yes, so let's get down to it.

The game's story picks up right after God of War II with Kratos riding on the back of Gaia climbing Mount Olympus. The game starts out on the back of Gaia with Kratos fighting hordes of monsters (and learning the controls). The game starts out more epic than ever with an epic boss fight with Poseidon. Giant water serpents come up and try to kill Gaia, so not only do you have to kill Poseidon, but you have to protect Gaia as well. The boss fights are bigger and more epic than ever with Titans that are miles high (fighting Cronos is the most epic of all) and you really feel like your taking these beasts down with satisfying results.

I have to first talk about how the game looks. Yes, God of War III is probably the best looking game made to date and it really shows on every aspect. The sweeping camera angles, the high-resolution textures and models. The gorgeous lighting effects, and everything just feels updated and like it should on the PS3. You can see the pores and details in every characters, the animation is more fluid, the combat even feels better and more fluid, especially if you just played the God of War Collection. I can't really describe just how beautiful this game is. You can see and feel the passion and detail every artist put into the game from the creatures, levels, and even small things like blood, scrapes and nicks on metal just everything.

The combat is what has the biggest upgrades. No longer are you confined to having all your magic items come from your magic meter. There are a ton more weapons (four in total) to get, and each weapon has its own magic attack instead of collecting them separately. The Blades of Exile (yes the name has changed again) have the Spartan Army attack, the Nemean Cestus have a pounding attack, Hades Hooks that let you summon different creatures, and a whip type weapon that sends electric shocks. All the weapons are similar to the Blades of Exile, and the Blade of Olympus is now used during Rage of Sparta mode (yes it's changed and everything turns black). There is now an item meter which is used for your bow, Helios head, and Hermes shoes. All these items sound crazy, but let me explain.

The bow lets you set certain things on fire and is mainly used during the beginning of the game, but not so much later on. The Helios head is used to reveal secrets and blind enemies, and the Hermes shoes are used during wall running sections. The grapple hook still exists, but all of these changes let you use all your items and weapons all the time, and don't rely so much on just magic. Some other changes to combat were made so everything feels more fluid and you never have to stop fighting no matter where you are. You can evade in the air, there is now a grapple attack that pulls you towards your enemy in the air or on the ground. The combat system is just super fun to use now, and all the additions perfect the combat system and make a fitting end to the trilogy.

The QTE's are still in tact, but with a bit of a change. They appear on the edge of the screen according the controller layout so you can now watch what's going on. Using your peripheral vision is see these really helps keep you drawn in, so you don't have to concentrate so much on the buttons. It is a little confusing at first, but after a while you will get used to it. The QTE's are also better placed especially during boss fights. You really feel like your making the big kill this time around with a new camera angle that lets you see in a POV of the enemy your pummeling or in Kratos' view. This adds to the cinematic excitement and brutality of that game.

Another thing I need to talk about is just how much more brutal and explicit the game is. The gore is more detailed with guts hanging out, cuts being visible where you slashed an enemy, skin stretching when heads are pulled, tendons popping, veins breaking etc. All this is visible thanks to the power of the PS3 and is really makes you wince in sympathy. The game even has a more explicit sex mini-game that is about mid way through with Aphrodite. Instead of just panning over to a table with a vase you see two topless women talking about what Kratos is doing to Aphrodite and it is both hot to watch and funny.

The puzzles in the game are what you would expect from a God of War game: Clever, fun, and unique. Just like all God of War games some puzzles are an entire level with little puzzles within that, and Daedalus's labyrinth is one example. They aren't as confusing as the last two games, and are easier to figure out, but just as clever, and some puzzles are now part of the environment so timing and speed are of the essence.

While there are a lot of game changes like the combat, additional weapons, and even Icarus' Ascension (which is a flying section where you dodge falling debris), the game stays true to the series. Everything is just bigger, badder, and meaner but it does have a few slight flaws. The ending story is cut a bit short, there aren't enough epic boss fights, and the difficulty is highly unbalanced. These are really all I could find, but they aren't necessarily flaws. If the game were a bit longer, and those three issues didn't exist it would get a 10. The game is perfect except that little tic-tac sized piece that you feeling is missing and can never pin it. The game has high replay value to unlock trophies, challenges, costumes, and there are a ton of making-of videos for die-hard fans to watch.

I just can't describe the improvements of this game unless you play it yourself. It is probably the best PS3 game out there so far, and is so enjoyable and chock full of excellence that it's almost too much to contain. The amazing scale, beauty, and vast improvements make the game worth a purchase tenfold. I just wish this weren't the end of Kratos' adventures or is it...

ULTIMATE EDITION: If you pre-ordered a copy or can still find one floating around, and want to shell out an extra $40 you can get the Ultimate Edition. It includes a very detailed Pandora's Box, a code to get the God of War Trilogy OST, the Blood and Metal soundtrack, an hour length making-of video, and full color art book. The package is a bit disappointing since the box is made of hard plastic and not die-cast metal, the soundtracks were a pain to get during launch day since the site was bogged down and wouldn't load half the time. The Blood & Metal OST is pretty disappointing since it's nothing special. It has a couple of big names like Trivium and Killswitch Engage, but only three of the songs on the album were any good. I also wished the soundtracks came in physical CD format, but digital is fine. The making of video is filmed like a History Channel documentary and can be a snooze fest for hardcore fans who already know all about the game. The Trilogy OST is fantastic and is probably the best part of the whole package along with the detailed art book. Is it worth $40? Sure, if you're a hardcore fan otherwise pass.

This cover is more exciting than the game itself... So-so graphics, the voice warning about sharp left-right turns, jumps, etc., gets boring after awhile as it sounds like an 80's arcada game coin-op voiceover... Shame Activision, seems you were in a rush to put this one out... Hopefully it will keep the kids busy for a bit so I can get some of my money's worth... Rent it if you need to get it out of your system!

It's no DIRT by Codemasters but it's fun to play. I have not tried the other Baja 1000 Edge of Control yet. For it's price it's worth it. Fun race courses and events. Big name racers are on it like Post, Herbst, Sohren, McMillan etc... That's just the Trophy Trucks. Three stars because it's not as realistic as DIRT but still good.

I actually leave in Ensenada (Home of the Baja Races), and this game shows realistic scenarios of some parts of the race, but the grahics are not that good.

Recomended for the hard core baja fans as part of their collection. But not so good for the videogames fans.

this game is fun to play. though i'm not real happy with it thankfully i got it used. the game play to me isn't very realistic at all. the handling isn't to bad after you take the time to get used to it. grapics aren't the best either its no dirt by far. it was still a fun game to play. i really like the all the types of rides you get to play though. you can be a dirt bike a 4 wheeler dune buggies and trucks. overall the game is fun to play and i did enjoy it.

Some people have wondered what exactly is in this collection. "Festival of Blood" is included in this package, but it is in the form of an ONLINE VOUCHER. So once you redeem it, that portion of the collection is forever tied to your account (you will not be able to include it, if you sell the collection second hand). Infamous 1 and 2 are each included in PHYSICAL FORMAT(Blu-ray discs).

This collection includes two full retail games and a good sized expansion, for considerably less than the price of one new release. You have to take into account the value here... there are dozens and dozens of hours of gameplay here, so if you're looking for something that will last you a while (especially if you're a fan of sandbox games and the superhero genre), this is a good bet. Download a demo if you're on the fence, or watch some YouTube videos of the gameplay... and if you're in the PS+ circle, by all means, download #2 for FREE!

A great collection if the bonus codes don't expire prior to receiving this product! Thankfully, Amazon gave us $10 in promotional credit to make up for it. However, if you want more than just inFamous 1 & 2, and you want :

o inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood

o Extra missions

o Additional character costumes, power ups and weapon styles

UPDATE SEPT 2013****Buyer Beware if you purchase this collection as the codes may be expired as mine were -or they may not be as others in later reviews say their codes worked. HOWEVER, at the time of this review in March 2013, our codes were, in fact, expired and did not work. If you don't mind taking a chance and having to possibly return your item for a refund, then go ahead and purchase this product.

This game is very fun!! I have played Borderlands, Skyrim, BioShock 1 & 2, Mass Effect 2 & 3, and Red Dead Redemption, and this game is every bit as fun as those are. The controls are easy to learn, and I didn't find it too difficult or too easy. It's actually a pretty simple game, and I consider myself a slightly above average gamer. If you die, you won't find yourself backtracking too much because you start out very close to where you died, and there aren't any penalties for dying. You can save your game at anytime and anywhere. I'm a husband, father, and work full time, so hopping on for a quick 20-30 minutes is no problem. About the only negative comments I can make about this collection would be the DLC took about an hour to download, and sometimes it was a little difficult to figure out where I needed to go or what I needed to do to continue with the mission I was on. Other than that, it was a blast to play! Super glad I bought this, and I was hesitant about it, but it's absolutely worth the $30!! You get two great games and a ton of DLC. The Festival Of Blood DLC is like a vampire mini game that plays just like the regular games, and has a nice twist to it. inFAMOUS is on one blue ray disk and inFAMOUS 2 on another blue ray disk, and everything else is downloaded via a code voucher. I would say that inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2 are going to take about 15-20 hours each to complete and Festival Of Blood about 5 hours to complete. So that is 35-45 hours of gaming and fun for a reasonable price. If you enjoyed some or all of the games I have played, I don't think you will be disappointed with this collection.

After reading the reviews that said the voucher expired on 3/31/2013 I regretted having purchased this for my son. However, we attempted the download anyway and everything downloaded just fine. I think those who complained about the expiration date didn't even try to download.

What to say about the best action game of recent times: perfect, fantastic, and coming with the control gets even better!!!

Want God of War Origins Collection & DUALSHOCK3 wireless controller Discount?

This bundle contains a red dualshock 3 and the God of War Origins Collection, which contains HD remakes of the PSP God of War games.

As the box says, buying this bundle saves you $34, as dualshocks tend to run about $55 and the Origins Collection costs $40. And that is a FANTASTIC deal.

If I had anything bad to say about this, it would be that the games are pretty short. Originally being on UMDs, these games are around 4 to 5 hours long. Nonetheless fun, but still really short due to technical limitations of the PSP game disc.

The price has changed a bit since I bought it last year, but it is still a great deal. Brand new dualshock 3's still cost $55, and the Origins Collection is still $19 used at Gamestop.

First let me say that I loved the old, blue box, Trivial Pursuit. It continues to be a great game and I was skeptical that it could translate well to a video game console.

I was wrong to doubt. The PS3 version of the game is crisp, looks great, and has fun animations when your puck moves about. I was also worried that the questions would be too easy, as they are mainly multiple choice wrong again. Some of them are real stumpers. Additionally, there are new ways they've come up with to ask questions, for example a geography question showing a map and forcing you to pick one of four points with no political boundaries shown. Can be tough. Some of the questions also use photos, which is fun as well. The questions are also a great mix of classic trivia and up-to-date information one question even asked to choose the website that was not a social networking site: myspace, facebook, live journal, or icanhascheezburger. I can has fun?

The single-player mode is quite fun, and I can see that I will be spending a great deal of time with it. The classic mode is great for a group (have only played with three so far) and doesn't seem to take as long as a marathon session with the board game sometimes did. There is also a quicker multiplayer mode that's quite enjoyable and can be played in less than 30 minutes.

My only complaint is that they've added a voiceover by a guy who's really quite annoying. He suggests at times that you look up the word loser so you can see a picture of yourself, and is overall tough to listen to after an hour or so. That's OK, you can turn him down or off.

Great job, great game!

I bought this game for my son who lives in another state. I visited his home in Sept. and we played Trivial Pursuit together. I loved it. He is very good at games and I actually beat him one time with this. I highly recommend this for a fun family game.

Want Trivial Pursuit Discount?

First off, I love Trivial Pursuit. Its not that I dont like this game, just this implementation of it.

I was hoping to see more downloadable question packs by this time. They have how many card decks to choose from, and we're getting squat. I'll pay, just make them.

They have an irritating way of asking geography questions. They show you a map with 4 dots on it. However the resolution isn't always good enough to distinguish two cities that are close together. I know the right answer, but you cant spot it on their map

We're also getting asked the same question in the same game. That's just nuts.

As for the question packs I don't live in India. Why so many questions about Dollywood actors, actresses, and movies that I have never heard of. That pack was totally useless. Glad it was a freebie.

Oh and I wish I could turn off the "cute" graphics. I was able to turn off the music, the sound effects, and the annoying answer.

In short, I just wanted to see a great board game translated to a console. It needed no changes.

Whoever did Monopoly did a far better job!
