If you like puzzle games, this is about as good as it gets. There is no other puzzle game like this, and believe me when I say you won't be disappointed. The first Portal game was just an extra; this is a full-length game. The first thing you'll notice is the inclusion of co-op which adds an entirely new layer of fun to the game. Think about what you could do with 2 portals, and imagine how you would complicate the puzzles with 4 portals instead. My friend and I were having an absolute blast trying to figure out just how to position our portals in tandem to set up the solution for these increasingly difficult puzzles. It's challenging and fun at the same time.

There were a few times where we almost gave up, and then the solution suddenly presented itself and we were able to continue. This game is not for anyone who is looking for a relaxing stroll through the Aperture Science Facility. This game WILL test your patience and intellect, and it is significantly more complex than the original game. Don't let that scare you away though, this game is absolutely amazing. New gameplay elements such as funnels, light bridges and gels come alongside the return of the Portal gun and not only do they present some intriguing puzzle designs, but they will test your wit in new ways that surpass even the sharpest minds.

UPDATE: My friend and I have finished the co-op portion of the game and the puzzles spike in difficulty near the end. There are roughly 40 co-op levels in the game, and there are a few trophies to make you come back to a few of the more difficult challenges. The length of the co-op will vary depending on the skill of the player, but my friend and I managed to solve all 40 puzzles in about 11 hours. Some people will say that it takes 5-6, but that's probably on a second or third playthrough. If you've never seen the gameplay elements before, you will have to take some trial and error to figure out how they work before you can think about trying to solve the puzzles.

The single player campaign is excellent, though this also spikes in difficulty pretty significantly about 1/3 of the way through the game, and then again 2/3 of the way through. The game starts off with a quick tutorial, but this game assumes that if you are playing Portal, you already have a pretty good idea of how to think with portals. Some of the puzzles in the middle of the game actually had me turning off my system until the next night, at which point I was able to figure it out in a matter of minutes. One thing that I really love about this game is the fact that it never tells you where you are supposed to go, you have to look around and then figure out how to get there by using everything in your environment. This is ever more evident once you reach a certain point in the game. All of the stops are pulled out and the amount of mind-bending thinking that you have to do borders on insanity. It's never too difficult though, as the solution is always right in front of you. The trick is you have to figure out how to make it happen with varying degrees of complexity. Some puzzles will take you 30 seconds, and others will have you trying things over and over for 30 minutes. All while being incredibly fun the entire time! The single player campaign took me about 15 hours to complete, and I will certainly be playing it again soon.

The voice acting in both single player and co-op is superb, and GLaDOS is even more hilarious than the first time around. It's pretty much a guarantee that you will find the dialog humorous, whether it's listening to GLaDOS telling you that you will fail to solve the next test, or that Wheatley thinks you may have died from a horribly long fall and isn't sure what to do.

The PS3 version of this game also comes with Steam integration and this is a breeze to set up. I managed to log into my Steam account on my PS3 and I was able to see all of my friends and send messages, view achievements, etc. Best part is you can access this all within the game too, and it was very easy to set up. Just type in your name and password, and I was immediately connected. I haven't been able to test out the PC / PS3 playing together yet, but I'll be sure to update my review once I am able to try it out.

UPDATE: Since the PSN has been down since April 20, I have been unable to play online yet. I was quite fortunate to have linked my PSN account to Steam, as players are currently unable to do this right now. When the PSN is restored this game will certainly be received better by the community due to the online portion being completely dead on arrival.

It's been a long time since I've been able to have this much fun with a video game, and one with so much content (apparently Valve is planning on releasing DLC and a map editor for the game to allow creating new levels). The only gripe I have with the game is a lack of challenge maps. One of the best parts of Portal was to see if you could solve the puzzles in the fastest time, fewest steps and fewest number of portals. That is sadly missing from this game, and it would be totally awesome in co-op mode. The story and level design make up for this, but there isn't a whole lot to come back to once you've completed the game. Even still, getting 20-25 hours out of a video game is pretty good for a puzzle game considering the competition these days.

If you're even close to being on the fence about this game, I highly recommend that you give it a shot.

I absolutely adored the initial Portal game. I was worried that Portal 2 could not live up to the first game's groundbreaking gameplay. I'm pleased to report that if anything Portal 2 is even better than the first one!

You pick up with Portal 2 many years after the initial Portal left off. You're the same person being woken up from stasis by a little floating robot. He is trying to save you, but soon enough you are back in the system, solving puzzles, using your portal gun to create in and out portals. Then it gets even more fun. There are new goo substances that let you do even more amazing things. I won't describe them all because half of the fun is discovering what they do and how to use them. Suffice it to say that it brings gameplay to a whole new level.

The humor is simply spectacular. The subtle comments had me laughing out loud the entire way through. The main character is female and I have to wonder if them only really trigger in a female player's brain. I was playing with my boyfriend and some of the sly comments about weight went right over his head, while I was rolling with laughter at the prods that were being made.

The graphics are great, and when you go through the commentary track you realize just how hard the team worked to get everything to look just right. Their attention to detail is impressive.

The voice quality is also spectacular. The slight lilting of one character's voice, the deliberate pauses and emphasis of another these are voice actors who know what they're doing. It really shows when a gaming company finds the perfect person to embody an on screen character.

There's single player and co-op mode. This could be tough for solo players; they'll have to find someone to play with to get through those. I know several people who get massive headaches at watching the physics-mind-bending portal play on the screen so this might not be as easy as it sounds. Still it's well worth tracking down a fellow player to go through those levels with.

Is there a down side? Well, as mentioned, some people just can't handle watching the gameplay because of it's jumping-from-heights, rotating-quickly-in-all-directions style. It simply makes them nauseous. And it's also worth mentioning that some of these puzzles are *challenging*. They're not meant for four year olds to hop through. They require a great deal of logical thought.

But to me that's the beauty of it. It's almost a shame that walkthroughs are so easily available on the web, for people to give up after five minutes and find the solution. The joy of this game is that it trains your brain to find solutions, to seek out the answer to a puzzle by breaking it down into logical steps. In pretty much every case here, you can see *what* you need to do. You just have to figure out *how* you get to that end point. I strongly believe that this logical puzzle solving ability is a superb thing for all of us to get better at, and that Portal 2 is a fantastic way to boost that skill.

Plus it is just SO much fun from start to end.

Once we finished the game we immediately went through the commentary track and it is even more fascinating. So be sure to check that out!

Highly highly recommended.

Portal is back and better than ever! The tests are as mind bending as ever, and they've added new elements, like light bridges and emancipation gates. The graphics are smooth and attractive, but nothing that's going to make your jaw drop. The controls are as simple and effective as the first game. But then, none of that was what worried me. I had no doubt that they would be able to recreate and expand upon the technical aspects of the first game. My concern was whether or not they would manage to capture and continue the personality and sense of humor of the first game. I am very pleased to report that the sequel does not disappoint. The sequel pics up right where the first game left off, and GLaDOS holds a grudge. Her insults, passive aggressive comments, and general malice will have you chuckling throughout the game. Your new companion and guide robot also adds to the character of the game, though he can be a bit heavy handed at times. If you enjoyed the first game, you will love the sequel, both for its expanded challenges, and its unique personality. As long as you enjoy a good puzzle and have a sense of humor, you will never regret this purchase.

I didn't play the first Portal, and bought this one strictly based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I got the hang of it pretty quickly, and was solving the puzzles in no time. The game commentary that you hear between levels is hilarious and, in my opinion, the best part of the game. This isn't to say that the game itself was not fun, it was. Such a nice departure from a lot of the mindless shooters and sports games that I normally play. Portal 2 does provide a great mental challenge. But after making it through several levels, I couldn't help but get a little bored by the repetitiveness of it all. Granted, new challenges present themselves to inject some variety, but not much.

I appreciated Portal 2 because of how different it was from any of the other PS3 games that I'm used to, and it is by far the funniest game I've ever played. But I couldn't help but think that this felt like a game that I might play on an iPhone or iPad (though obviously with superior graphics). I'm also surprised by the reviewers who suggest that Portal 2 has great replayability. Once you've solved the puzzle, you've solved it. There's no more figuring out to do because you already know how to do it. So, I can't say that I have any desire, whatsoever, to play the game again.

I don't want to make it seem like Portal 2 isn't an enjoyable game, because I did have a good time playing it. I just don't feel it's worth the $60 that it originally sold for, or even the $40 that it's listed for at the moment. It would be a great rental, however.

Portal 2 is a continuation of the Portal we love but we added touches that make it Valve's best game ever. Harder puzzles coupled with the introduction of Excursion Funnels, Aerial Faith Plates, Thermal Discouragement Beams, Pneumatic Diversity Vents, Repulsion Gel, and Propulsion Gel make soLving a level even more sAtisfying. The graphics are also improveD from Portal 1 alOng with more complex level deSign in the now destroyed Aperture Science facility. I don't want to spoil any of the game but if you played Portal 1, everything will feel very familiar. The PS3 version of the game includes Steam integration so you can play along in co-op mode with PC and use the steam chat feature. Trophies / Achievements are synced with Steam. PS3 buyers get the PC version for free so this is by far the best console version to purchase.

I actually rented this game to see how it played. Glad I did as I won't be buying.

The good is that the pitching style is really involved, making you make certain stick movements rather than the old 'swing meter' that is so boring. The announcers are great, though the timing of the remarks is off somewhat.

The 'ok' is the batting, it's actually kinda fun if a bit simplistic. Fielding is ok as well, with the new throwing meter adding a bit. Baserunning has always been my nemesis, so I can't realistically comment on that. The mode where you match your favorite team day by day is unique, but seems a bit gimmicky because you will have to keep buying it year to year (you can't just play a season in that mode).

Ok, now the bad... there are a number of video/audio glitches that are inexcusable in this day and age (and at this price). The 'my player' mode is very weak. Load times are long at times, video doesn't play smoothly and player animations are jerky at times.

All in all, not a bad game, just not a really good one.

This may sound like sacrilege to anyone who has religiously played the show and never touched 2K. 2K is not perfect. The visuals lack some of the realism that the show does, and the game plays quicker than the show. That is not a bad thing, unless you have hours on end. What I like about 2k is that the games can be won by more than one run. I have talked to many a show player and played the game myself. One of the biggest problems is the unrealistic hitting. One of my clostest friends played a full season and had an average of 210 for the year but finished with the best record in baseball.

2K allows you to put runs on the board and engage in pitchers duels. There is also the baserunning quandry in the show. In the show, every play is a bang bang play. I can't name how many times I have been burned by a Reyes in the show because the animation takes so long to actually throw to the base. In 2k routine plays are routine. I think 2k is more realistic in the sense of gameplay. I recommend it over the show.

MLB 2K12 features several upgrades long in coming and make upgrading from previous 2K games worth the money.

Pro's:

Throwing Accuracy vs. time: This is a basic part of baseball that has been missing from this game the decision to set feet and throw accurately or flip the ball quickly. This is especially true for the middle infielders. And as in the real game, a quick throw can lead to some errors.

Dynamic tendency: This is another "realistic" part of the game that needed to be improved. Even Justin Verlander isn't going to get away with the same fastball every time, and this game forces players to adjust their approach to keep from becoming predictable.

The soundtrack is a winner again. There are always several tracks from 2K games that end up on my iPod. This one is no different.

Cons:

The graphics are still not as good as the MLB The Show games. I know there is a tradeoff between graphic detail and game frame speed, but the 2K12 still doesn't seem to have found the right balance

Notes: I still haven't decided if I like the pitching changes better than the old meter...it's theoretically better. Also, the batting stances seem a little off for some players. C'mon, you have to get Miggy right, he's the MVP and Triple Crown winner!

This is how a baseball game is supposed to be played. It has what most would call "previous gen" graphics but I don't think it need to look good to be good. The gameplay is what matters and that's where it excells.

The pitching takes some getting used to but it makes it so it't not super easy. After a few games you'll get the hang of it. Each pitcher feels different and tgat's a good thing -to have to get used to each individual pitcher instead of pitching the same every time.

The batting is perfect. Some people would call it boring but it needs to be simple. It's just a simple flick of the right joystick. You're swining a bat, not making cheesecake.

Fielding is great too. Each fielder has his own point of perfection when he throws so you can't just throw the same every time.

Overall this game is perfect. It's a nice enjoyable game of baseball, and that's all it needs to be.

Most people like MLB The Show better than 2k, and while I agree that The Show's graphics are a lot better, I think the overall gameplay is more enjoyable in 2k. I'm having a blast with 2k right now and I'm very happy I bought it rather than The Show.

If all you care about is graphics, go with The Show.

If you want a fun game, go with 2k.

Ok, I just started this game a little bit ago and have been playing it for about 30 minutes. For the lack of any more information on it, I did want to let others' know what to think of the game. This is definitely not award winning acting, or award winning gaming at all, but it sure is fun for dinosaur lovers. Decent 1080p graphics, but nowhere near Uncharted 2 or some other games but I'm sure it didn't cost near what those were to make in money and timeless programmer hours. The FPS gameplay is simple run and gun dino hunting. The load times are a bit long, but I really don't care, I love to hunt the dinos. Story? WGAS. I sure don't. Leave the stories to Uncharted 2, Batman, Juarez and the like. No really good one here, but it does make it kind of cheesy fun the way they did it. I didn't expect much from this seemingly last minute release, but its a blast and the dinosaurs look good and its a bit of a challenge but not too hard for an old 41 year old gamer like me. I do only have a few minutes in and I'll update this if there is more later. Sure is better than Turok, at least to me. (Lots more dino action)

Next day update. I don't write very many reviews, but this game seems to be getting such little attention I feel compelled to get info out there because I love FPS's and dinosaurs. I only played the JP games on Sega Genesis. Back to this game. If you are into "realism" and hard core graphics and great stories, give this game a pass. There are many graphical flaws and other low-budget game type of problems and mistakes. Slow loading times are a stand out annoyance, but I'll stick with my 5 star fun review and 4 star overall review. There are lots of guns to find and some magazine upgrades to find, lots of the same dinosaurs to kill and B-movie, or even C-movie acting and story telling. (if there really is a story) But this game should satisfy the dinosaur FPS fan. Its gotten a little more difficult at times but that is good and makes for a good challenge. The checkpoint times are done fairly well, but I have found myself re-doing some of the same mission kills after dying, so, just don't die. Well, some might want to wait until there is a larger price drop, but who knows when that will be. For the dino fan, it should be worth it and there is much more to come because it seems that I'm still early into the game. Hopefully it won't be too short.

Final edit: It didn't take long to beat this game and I'm not that good at games. I do hope that the developers really work at a sequel and putting a story together for the next one, if there is one. I think there is a huge market for something like this if its really done well. Like, instead of finding voice actors for minimum wage like this one, get some good ones. And, gameplay, gameplay and more gameplay. This one is ok but its so clearly a low budget game. Well, I took off one star and ended up with a 3 star and 4 stars for fun.

Let me begin by saying how difficult it is to review this title. As I highly anticipated it's eventual price-drop from it's initial $50 bucks I could not have for-seen the thankfulness for doing so. I did some basic research into this title beforehand and discovered numerous other reviews stating "okay for a budget title" so being fairly new to the PS3-esque world I did not know what "budget title" for this system meant with other games being so awesome.

The reviewers were right. While not a "bad" game by any means it DOES manage to disappoint. Graphics are a bit choppy to the point where they remind me of very early "high graphics" titles for PC back in the original Need For Speed days. Graphics aside, dinosaur variety was also sorely a miss. You maybe see 3 species in abundance. Keep in mind however that these are the ONLY enemies that you are fighting. Example, walking walking walking, then something pops out of the bushes that is supposed to resemble a Raptor (forget anything you think you know about how they look, this ISNT it), shoot it, walking walking walking, random gun laying around. You know how you play multiplayer games and there's no one else on the same map so it's just you running around doing nothing and collecting odd weapons? That's exactly what this game feels like. Gampeplay is extremely linear. You-must-walk-this-path-and-do-this-specific-action. If you're thirsty for random dinosaur action/bloody violence, Turok is your best bet by far.

Buy Jurassic: The Hunted Now

One of the main reasons I bought this game was to satisfy my own curiosity about it. I could find almost no official reviews anywhere and some sites had completely different titles and box art. I guess that can be somewhat expected from a totally under the radar budget title that was revealed like a month before release. Basically this game is a mashup of the new soldier of fortune and the newer cabela games (i read that it was developed by the same team who did soldier of fortune and in fact i believe some of the weapon models are compeletely recycled from that game) and the ability to see the dinosaurs organs as you shoot them in slow motion is taken from the newer cabela games. This game took me about three and a half hours to play through and in that playthough I got all but one of the trophies (play through on the hardes difficulty which is unlocked by beating the game once) there is no online multiplayer, only a weird base defense mode that seems suited for online co-op or even split screen for that matter considering the multiple entrances you have to protect but it is entirely single player with online leaderboards. So the game has very short legs you could easily 100% this game in less than 24 hours and there is not much to come back to , but the price is right and its a decent playthrough, just don't expect to be wowed unless its by the incredibly bad voice acting.

If you like shooting dinosaurs in the face with a shotgun, then boy have you come to the right place! It's a no frills game, but who cares? You probably aren't here for story. You want to shoot dinosaurs right? Cause that's why I picked this up. I wanted to shoot dinosaurs. And shoot dinosaurs I have. It's quite enjoyable to pump extinct things that have giant teeth with hot lead. Try it! You might like it. It also rains trophies. Seriously. In the first hour the game popped out 35% of the trophies.

I got this controller because I couldn't find the color I wanted around town. Yes, I ordered online, just for the color, but why not? It was cheaper online than going to the nearest Gamestop, or something. The Afterglo series has good quality products. They're unique and fun. The only thing that throws me off is that the D-pad and analog on the left side are switched, unlike a PS3 controller. However, it's still a great product and I use it everyday for my PS3 and computer games. I love it! RECOMMENDED!

First of all, I want to say that I am a pretty hardcore gamer. I'm a level 17 on Metal Gear Online, and if you were familiar with the game, you'd know that being that level means that you're a pretty good player. I bought this controller because I was tired of wearing out the Dualshock 3 analog sticks by playing that game. Now, onto the controller.

This controller is alright. The buttons and triggers feel kind of cheap. The analog sticks don't have evenly distributed resistance in all directions, as compared to the Dualshock 3, but it's fine. When using this controller to play Metal Gear, there's a noticeable reduction in control with the analog sticks. However, with that said, I find that I enjoy using this controller. The Xbox 360 controller layout is fun to play with. There isn't any lag, as far as I can tell.

For the price, I'd say this controller is decent. I think if they improved upon the design of this controller, adding non-plastic-like buttons and making the analog sticks as responsive and resistive as the Dualshock 3, then they'd have a winner. I'd pay $50, or even more, for something like that. (I'm talking to you controller designer!)

I bought this new from GameStop for $30. Everything worked perfectly. Then it started breaking. The vibrator only worked on one side of the controller and a piece of plastic chipped off the bottom of the controller. Now the afterglow doesn't even work any more. The controller itself still works and I use it as my second controller but beware before buying.

PS: It is a lot like an XBOX 360 controller shape wise

I love the glow effect of this controller. Reminded me of the wireless afterglow controllers I bought for my PS2, but some games are not compatible with the wired controller, which is a downer for me. It feels good in your hands when you use it, but only being able to use it with some games is a turn-off for me.

I got this just because it's the only purple option for dual shocks. It is wired, make no mistake about that. I normally sit 4 feet from my console, so wired is fine. The controller is actually clear, but it lights up inside with a purple light.

I like this because it's smaller than the standard dual shock. So perfect for gamers who don't have giant man-hands. And they put in these little protrusions that your fingers rest against on the back side, to prevent slippage. I wish Sony would use that idea in their proprietary controllers. Also, the triggers are extended, so no need to buy add on trigger extenders. And, it has vibration but you can choose to disable it.

I really like this controller and use it all the time.

This is a quick summary of my experiences and thoughts on 3DDGH. I will update for the next few days as I progress further. This is basically to answer a few questions people might have regarding gameplay and other aspects.

This game is a tip of the hat to all those great old school RPGs like Zelda and Dragon Quest. While some may say it's a complete rip-off of our beloved Zelda, it's more of a tribute.

The graphics are very good, obviously not God of War III quality, however they are extremely charming, I might even say "cute". All of the environments and character models are built out of little cubes, think LEGOs, but 1x1 size blocks. I was surprised how much detail can be created using simple blocks. There obviously aren't any fine details, however if you've ever played Nintendo or Sega Master System games you will appreciate the graphics. Throughout the world are bodies of water and what appears to be lava, but it's swirling and not made out of cubes. It's a blend between 8-bit graphics and sort of hokey special effects, I love it!

There are a large number of enemies in the game. I've come across 8 or so already and I've been playing a couple hours. Like games of old, once you leave a screen and come back, the monsters respawn. They appear in small poofs as they get spawned, which is a nice little touch. There are enemies that rush you, throw spears, and other stuff. Some are cute little bunnies but they obviously have a grudge because they will rush! You have classic creatures such as skeletons, scorpions, slimes (a nod to Dragon Quest, there's a blue slime in the first village), bats, ghouls, and most other creatures you can think of.

The dialog is extremely humorous! BTW all of the text in the game is blocky just like the days of NES and Sega. Just looking at the menu is enough to bring fond memories flooding back to me. The developers have quite the sense of humor. For instance, you can choose your basic "yes" and "no" responses to questions. Upon talking to the king who asks you to help the kingdom, if you say "no" he says "But that answer doesn't advance the story!". Small funny moments like that really make the game special.

I've played through the first temple. It's very Zelda-like. There are switches, chests, clay jars to break. Cutting grass with your sword rewards you with random coins. Basically if you enjoy Zelda, you will have a blast with this game.

The audio is enjoyable. Yes it's repetitive like old school games, but that's part of the charm. Some of the music sounds like "modern" 8-bit, I don't know how to phrase it. Other music is definitely modern sounding.

One minor issue, and I guess it's personal preference. I don't like the swords. If you've seen videos where the sword is unrealistically large and takes up a good portion of the screen, well it really is like that. It's a small problem, but the swords are just lame. I don't know how else to state it. Maybe it's a reference to some game I never played, but I think it's sort of cheap the way swords can be upgraded to be so large that most enemies don't even have a chance to attack you.

Funny dialogue, great graphics, and tributes to old school games all combine to give PS3 owners a game worth buying. For $40 you really can't go wrong. You will get more gameplay out of this than most other big name titles. Yes it's a Zelda clone (tribute), it was designed that way. Any Zelda fan will adore this game. Most old school gamers from the 8-bit era will also get a kick out of this game.

One final note, most of the trophies are secret. It's a great way to prolong the game because you don't know what you have to do to unlock them. I've gotten a fair number in the first couple of hours. Too many games throw it all out on the table so you can just rack them up. This game isn't like that!

*EDIT* 5/14/10

After putting roughly 8 hours into the game, I can say that it keeps getting better. Some things of note I wish to add to my review: The character editor as stated in another review is pretty interesting. I am not the artistic type, so I quickly gave up in frustration. You create a few different poses for your character which are incorporated into the game. There are a number of characters to choose from, from a tank, underground ninja (all you see is a snorkel coming out of the ground), two santas, a manager, to other absurd (and amusing) characters. Each of them as a one or two line description to read, also amusing.

The enemies explode into individual blocks which disappear shortly afterward. It's a fun way to dispatch enemies. As stated before, I've now upgraded my sword and it takes up a large part of the screen and there are still more levels of upgrading available! One further note, each of the MANY swords available have a maximum potential value and a current value. You can obviously only upgrade each weapon to a certain extent so you have to plan in advance which aspects of your weapon you would like to increase before you reach max potential.

UPDATE: Beware! There is no autosave! I found this out by playing way past the 2nd boss and pausing the game for a few hours before returning to game. I then shut off the PS3 upon going to bed only to find myself back at the first boss. I should know better, being an avid game, just giving you all a heads up!

I'm not sure I can add anything new to the excellent reviews here, but I'll try.

When I first heard that "3-D Dot Game Heroes" would be released in the US, I was ecstatic. From Software had already scored a huge hit with "Demon's Souls," and the idea of this game seemed very intriguing: an homage to the top-down action adventures of yesteryear, with particular attention paid to the granddaddy of them all, "The Legend of Zelda."

But "3-D" is more than a tribute. It is a blatant rip-off. I say this in the best way possible, because if there is one game a company should rip off, it's "Zelda". Hailed by many as the single greatest game ever made, "TLOZ" changed gaming forever, from its use of the battery-pack for saving, to its open-world environments, to its dungeons and bosses. "Zelda" had it all. Of course, it spawned many quality sequels, but with the advent of 3-D gaming, the top-down beauty of this classic has been lost.

"3-D" has a full dose of itself, however. There are numerous references to 8-bit classics of yesteryear, from strange translations of spells, to clues that point you nowhere. There's even a developer's room, harking back to games such as "Chrono Trigger." But scratch below the nostalgia, and you have some quality gameplay that's worth coming back for.

Anyway,

The Good:

1) The Nostalgia I loved every minute of it. As a 35-year-old gamer who remembers crowded arcades in the early 80's, it was great to revisit the quirks of old NES classics.

2) Exploration "3-D" has a large overworld map, just like Zelda of the past. But many of the secrets of this map are obscured, or unattainable, until you get certain abilities. This adds length to the game, but it never feels unnecessary. A world that was a pain to traverse early becomes easily maneuverable later.

3) Bestiary This gets it own section. In order to get enemies into your bestiary, you actually have to HIT them with your bestiary book. It is amazing how much fun this adds to the game. The weapon itself has short range and pathetic attack, and often it takes many, MANY hits to "book" an enemy (particularly bosses). There are many enemies to hit, and some of them can be quite challenging.

4) Character creation I spent hours with this, creating strange and wonderful characters. It might not be for everyone, but it's fun nonetheless.

The Bad:

1) Perspective. At times, I found the dungeon cameras incredibly frustrating. When trying to book the Dark Knight, I would often take phantom hits for no good reason. Sometimes, your character will get hung up on environment, or won't be able to use his weapon because he's too close to the door. It's a pain.

2) Control the game utilizes a mix of the grid system from "TLOZ" with analog controls, and while sometimes the effect is good, it often fails. It's annoying that my character can move diagonally, but can't ATTACK that way.

3) Music quirks At times, the music would start skipping, particularly when moving from screen to screen. It always freaked me out.

The Best:

1) Trophies It's nice when a game gets it right, and these trophies only serve to add to the experience. For example, in order to get many of the hidden trophies, you have to defeat a boss without getting damaged. That adds to the experience. Booking bosses also gains trophies, as does beating the game without ever dying, etc. etc. All in all, the trophies do exactly what they should they ADD to the overall experience of the game.

So, that's it. I docked the game a single star due to the few missteps I mentioned, but all in all, if you are a fan of the old school classics, you should buy this. Even if you aren't, there is still a lot to be had here.

I've had this game since the day it came out and absolutely love it. If you download a Link mod (or make your own!) off the offical website

and switch the camera to angle B, it's just like playing an old Zelda game. My only complaint is that if you miss an item in one of the temples you're going to get stuck and have no idea what to do next. Luckily, IGN has a good walkthrough in case that happens.

This is a game that was made for the old school gamer, like myself, who grew up in the days when NES & SNES reigned supreme. Ironically, as much as 3DDGH uses old ideas from the past, it's actually a very unique game in todays market. There's a whole legion of kids who grew up on Halo who have never played anything like this before. They just don't make em' like they use to. PS3 owners should not miss out on this gem.

Yikes, it's finally here. I've been waiting on this ever since I fell in love with the previous Atlus title Demon's Souls, and having given it some serious time since yesterday I've got an observation. This game is a fun throwback. Agree with those who say it's worth it just for the return to yesteryear, but also agree with those who say it's just a slick copy of Zelda with little new to offer. I think the disparity is in HOW developers pay homage to classic games for those of us who seek and love that "nostalgic" element. Demon's Souls was an incredible nextgen game with a throwback to the gameplay style of 8-bit games, where unforgiving levels literally drive you to the brink of insanity. That just makes success all the more sweet due to how hard you work to achieve it. I hadn't screamed and accused the computer of cheating so much since 1989, all because after I died I had to start all the way back at the beginning and that sucks (and rocks). Unfortunately, Atlus's new attempt to pay homage to classic games falls a bit flat because it's not replicating the gameplay style so much as the aesthetic and plot simplicity of a beloved set of classic games. The result, while fun, leaves you a bit empty and longing for the original. Still, it's not a full-price game, so there's that too. Overall a fun but shallow homage to (some of) the things, not all, that made classic 8bit so great.

If you're looking at this game, and you've scrolled down, or clicked some button to read more reviews, and you're still not sure whether or not to buy this game, then I really don't know what to say.

3D Dot Game Heroes is [insert generic description seen above here]. It takes many cues from past...game.....s....li.....ke....ze.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You have to know this information already. So instead let me explain some smaller details not often mentioned. The side quests are actually quite entertaining. Most of them lead to encounters with NPCs that have witty dialogue and references to other video games, famous people, pop culture, or memorable past events. One fairly entertaining side quest, for example, is a quest around town delivering letters to significant others, but each person has no idea they're in a relationship with the other person, and instead wish for you to send a letter to their "fiance", who in turn, believes she is actually being stalked.... and the cycle continues.

Truly the dialogue is really what sets the game over the edge. Too many one shot lines to recount, but I found myself laughing aloud more at this game than any game in the recent past (maybe minus other Atlus titles, or games that, likewise, don't take themselves too seriously [Phoenix Wright saga])

Actually, I would say the greatest downfall of 3D DGH is the gameplay. Here's some fun facts about me: I love Zelda. I love Zelda titles more than almost any other games out there. I have played them all, and beat them with flying colors and highest grades of completion. I have beaten pretty much every console Zelda game without dying once. Why am I telling you this? I got my ass handed to me by the first boss in 3D DGH probably 20 times before I was able to beat him. I was appalled at myself. How embarrassing.... But it's possible that it's just not the title I'm best suited for. That being said, I did start to get the hang of it after playing for a few hours, but trust me, you're gonna feel my pain.

Some of the trophies are horrendous... but doable given enough determination

If you like the genre, you really didn't need to read more people's thoughts. Chances are you'll know if you're going to like it well before you make the buying decision.

This looks great on my PS3 controller! I really love space and I thought this would make a great skin cover for my controller out of all the other skins that I looked at. The material is well made and it was very easy to apply! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a realistic space themed skin.

I got this for my 13 year old along with 3 other games after he had had surgery and needed to be taking it easy. We haven't seen the film but that didn't spoil the enjoyment of the game. It is reasonably varied, has good colourful graphics, and was fairly entertaining. But for his age it was very easy. I think it really is best for gamers up to the age of 10. If you are getting it for an older player I would suggest borrowing or renting as they will finish it very quickly.

I had the game yesterday and punched in about 5 hours and will update as I play along. The Yakuza series brings back familiar faces along with new ones.. A Loan Shark,a crooked cop and a ex-con.. Everything almost looks the same but that does not mean it's a bad thing..New areas such as rooftops and underground malls have been added along with new store fronts and hostess bars..Pachenko Slots have been added with a mix of a couple of new games..The arcade shooter is back from part 3 in the sega arcade..The battle system is fun, granted I only been using the loan shark as that is who you start off with.. His dashing kicks and move sets are really refreshing for the series.. As you progress through the amazing storyline you will cross paths with other characters you will play later which I always found an awesome concept..The soundtrack is great barnone.. The city to me now feels more live then it ever was before. If you are in to beat em ups like streets of rage with that element of shenmue with a mix of fantastic film making I say buy this now..Other reviewers really scarred this game for no GOOD reason other then lacking time to do a review to show up for PAX..what a joke..will update when I use other characters

Quick Update: There are multiple Hostess bars. Leaderboards for various mini games including the arcade shooter. Nothing big just forgot to point out.

UPDATE: I'm taking my time with this game but really upset at the lackluster hype for this underrated gem..Reminds me of part 2..Anyway I wanted to mention a few more things but also want to mention I'm still on the loan shark(doing more adventures then missions) The beat them up and flap them back up from the floor to continue combos is great and gives you a a$$ kicking feel. Singing duets and voices for each character really makes karaoke more fun then 3 hands down..Areas hidden at first for certain characters..This is a new element for the series but works well since there are tons of new areas in general..(also once you beat the game everything is unlocked) The key radar really helps when looking for all the keys in the game. Will update again when I get more in depth with the characters..the loan shark I must say is suave just like Kazuma so I can see why they brought him back in Yakuza of the End..

FINAL UPDATE: I am near the end of the road with the main missions and plan on beating it on EX hard when I'm done.. This game will make you Laugh,Cry and anger you at times(not the game itself the bad guys) There are a few characters from the past game that are in the storyline that add to the mix..So many twists and turns people will think you are possessed with your head spinning on wth really went on in this story..I always said Part 2 was my favorite of the bunch but part 4 is creeping up behind it..I am amazed on how well a story on a video game is played out..The sub stories are fun and engaging..The music I'm pretty sure I mentioned it before outstanding, from selection screens to battles the music keeps you motivated.. I will be sad when the series finally hits the end of it's life line..Part 5 is in development and won't release until mid-late next year and for us if we do get it will be maybe 3 years from now.. A solid game,a Masterpiece really..I bought 2 copies in support..Go buy it,don't have second doubts...If you own a PS3 this game should be in your collection..

I have never played Yakuza series from Sega before and I heard raving reviews and accolades about the series and the 4th installment of the game seems to be awesome so far. Having played about 5 hours, I am already hooked. Before starting the series, I reminisced what happened in Yakuza 1-3 and know the basic storyline so far. As the other reviewers stated, the game is a mix of beat em up, RPG, action and adventure. The cut scenes are top notch although they can get a little bit on the long side. However, the graphics are a beauty and blew me away overall. Everything feels top notch as the movements, environment all seem so real and makes you feel like you are in Tokyo.

There are so many things to do that it makes you worry something has been missed or you forgot to talk to someone. Talking to people (they have green or blue arrows on top of their heads) or even eavesdropping on people is a charming task and it gives you an insight as to what's currently going on. (I've spent 3 hours doing just this) The fighting sequences are awesome and the punches, kicks, throws and grabs are real moves and not exaggerated. You can pick up various objects around you and beat the living crap out of the bad guys. It's a stress reliever for sure after a long day at work. =)

Overall, this game gives you the importance of respect, honor, philanthropy and revenge. Akiyama, the loan shark loans money to people in exchange of volunteer work or other humanitarian actions without charging interest. As the story unfolds, it remains to be seen what happens to each character. (can't wait) I will updating this review as soon as I put more hours to it. I cannot recommend this game more, it's that GOOD! If you are skeptical, Best Buy had it for $39.99 (probably still do) when I bought mine at Game Stop trading in some old games. I have purchased Yakuza 3 given the very good reviews on Amazon and cannot wait til I play it after Yakuza 4 is over.

PROS:

+Amazing Graphics (Production value is very high)

+Cinema Quality Cutscenes

+Great Storyline (so far)

+Character customization/advancing

+Amazing environment interaction (Going in to convenience stores/restaurants/clubs etc adds to the gameplay experience)

+Great characters and fighting sequences (accomplishing missions during fights is rewarding)

+Easily worth the $60 given the hours of addictive gameplay and extras

CONS:

-Need for install on to HDD (Doesn't take that long. Be prepared to read each character's bio about 6 times at the least =)

-Slightly long cut scenes (minor issue)

LA Noire and Catherine are another top notch games that I have pre-ordered so far. Hoping for the best that they turn out like Yakuza 4.

UPDATE 3/24/2011:

This game continues to amaze me. I went through the cops chasing me sequence and that was pretty fun being able to run away from the cops and throw them off when captured from back and run away again is awesome. I was also approached by a soldier named Daigo and I had to chase his pupil down who took my office keys. Chasing after him and ramming him when in proximity also adds to the fun. In addition, you are able to throw beer bottles at him and slow him down as well. Nice! These are some of the "extra-curricular" activities incorporated in to the main gameplay in which adds to the total experience of the game.

I finally had a chance to go to a hostess bar and talk to 3 girls and depending on what you say, they either like you or they leave you and another girl replaces them (at least that's what happened to me). I got 2 business cards from the girls and am totally loving this game even more :). Some nice touches where you can help a "nerdy" (for a lack of a better term) guy score a hostess girl or even help a homeless man with a drink makes you think Sega put extra effort in to this game. Upgrading abilities by utilizing souls also gives your character more moves and learning taunts recovers your heat gauge (so you can perform special moves) quickly.

The story can get confusing at times as the cinematic sequences cross references the Ueno Clan and the other clan whom are families, but in such a way that you sometime confuse this person as Ueno and the other as the other clan member. However, this is not a big issue as just roaming around the city and beating away bad guys, gangsters, visiting Karaoke bars, Hostess Clubs, Convenience Stores, Restaurants and earning experience points by listening to people is the main thing that interests me. I must conclude and say that Sega really has outdone themselves with Yakuza 4 and hope to give their critically (and fan) acclaimed Shenmue series by Yu Suzuki a try as I hope that they re-release it for the PS3.

i really think sega out did themselves with this sequel. almost every aspect from 3 has been improved and expanded upon. City, NPCs, characters, voices presentation wise have been improved significantly. weather effects like rain have been added. day and night cycle. combat feels and plays alot smoother, but yes sometimes its hard to lock on but its a minor problem. the story and pacing are alot better and flows very well. playing as 4 characters back to back makes the game feel less like a grind or repetitive. each character has a unique personality and back story. i cared what happened to each character. even the Kiryu (main character of the whole series) has been improved with more insight on his back story and even more fighting techniques and attacks. one of the weak parts of 3 in my opinion of the redundant sub stories. there are less sub stories in 4 but they feel significant and not redundant. for note the game is 99% true to its original Japanese content. the only cut content are the opening song because of licensing issues, and a trivia game called Answer x Answer. barely noticeable this game is brimming with content. so go buy it now.

This review is going to be quite an undertaking because frankly, I don't even know where to start but I know it'll be overly long. Perhaps you should skip it if you don't like reading a lot of text haha. I suppose I should start by saying that Yakuza 3 was the title that initiated me into the franchise after hearing vague notions of its similarities to Shenmue. I loved the 3rd installment and almost everything about it. We had a great protagonist: sometimes stoic, honorable, calm under pressure, and really just completely bad ass! So when I heard that the narrative for Yakuza 4 was going to be split between 3 other heroes, I have to admit I had my reservations.

This is one of the best video game purchases I've made in a while. I still can't decide which I like better, this or Yakuza 3. As soon as I started playing with Akiyama, I couldn't help but be reminded of some cross between Oh Dae-su from Oldboy and Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. I believe the moment I knew I was going to love the rest of the game was the cutscene when the appropriately stereotypical mob goons got really hot-headed with him and Akiyama stayed cool-headed and retorted with smug insults. I mean how much better can you get than that? Not only does it brings us into the world of that fantasy, but with main heroes that likable and charismatic, it made me want to see the whole story through with them.

I'm just before the very final section of the game, and I can see how some of the reviews thought that Yakuza 4 had a ponderous quality to the story-telling. It didn't stop me from being engaged though. But the catalyst that makes it work so well, that makes me want to keep watching the story unfold from betrayals to reunions is the CHARACTERS and their RELATIONSHIPS. If I had to choose two things that marks the game's strength, those would be it. And those absolutely go hand in hand. The literal things that happen along the way probably wouldn't mean as much if all these people (including NPCs) had no real depth, life, or passions. Almost all the characters in this game have a personal meaningful struggle and I can't help but empathize with them. And in order to convey all that meaning, is the technical prowess portrayed throughout the in-game cut scenes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for some reason, I don't remember the rendered faces in Yakuza 3 being as beautiful, subtle, and meticulous. I'm talking about the cut scenes with the voice acting, not the text boxes. Sega has really done something wonderful to surpass the uncanny valley. Our heroes are no longer just angry, or just happy, or just sad. There are many facial hints to their expressions that it's almost lifelike to me. The recognition of irony in Akiyama's face with a subtle smirk, the look of barely concealed savagery with Saejima. At some points, during some of the game's greatest revelations (pun intended), I was disappointed that when a character found out something extremely important, the game sometimes resorted to the text box sequences.

Much of the story plays out in Japanese melodramatic fashion...and that's a good thing! It's a pity that we have this idea that melodrama is something not to be taken seriously due to its over-the-top nature. Just because something isn't merely slice-of-life doesn't take away from the truth of what characters do and feel within the construct of the fantastical, living, breathing world Yakuza 4 gives us. And truth is much greater than being real. Realness is a confined quality, where truth can span the entire spectrum of human experience. So when a character stays behind to buy time so that someone else can escape, confesses to a 25 year old sin, and yes, gets into a fist-fight for the sake of honor and life's duty, there is a clear, strong, and palpable reason why these characters do what they do. In that way, I couldn't help but think of many other great stories that we've been blessed with: Macbeth, Hamlet, Oedipus Rex, many Kurosawa films etc. It doesn't have to fit into our world because the world of Yakuza 4 is so expressive and vibrant that it can hold all those typically "melodramatic" things.

Something else very striking to me is this "institutionalized sexism" I've been hearing about. I'm not talking about this to go on a moral rant or anything but some of it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I don't remember feeling that way at all in Yakuza 3. In time, you'll have played through two mini-games: mini RPGs where you train young girls to be good hostesses and men to be fighters, respectively. In order to make a girl a good hostess, you have to dress them up appropriately, teach them social interaction, and cater to the club-goers' needs. It's like a rather insidious Barbie dress-up game. If you choose the option to allow them to go on a break, they talk on their cellphones like what one would think frivolous little girls would do. On the other hand, when you train a male fighter, you improve his strength, speed, and to an extent, assertiveness. The gender roles are very clear and yet it's the male NPCs in this game who usually come off very approval-seeking and lower in status while they pursue women like trophies. Let me just be clear: none of what I said is a criticism of the game, but I do think it's worth noting. Heck, western games have their own version of it, most likely to satirize it. The fact that this game calls out a real facet of Japanese culture is certainly a credit to it.

The actual gameplay is not too different from the last installment. I get bored easily with fighting games (at least 1 vs. 1 style fighting games like Soul Calibre etc.) but I never get tired of beating the crap out of punks who talk a lot of smack. I suppose what makes it all the more exciting and satisfying, particularly with the boss fights, is that from a narrative standpoint, the bad guys usually have a low expectation of you despite how bad-ass you are. They keep talking as if they can easily kill you and easily outnumber you, and all that does is make me want to fight that much harder. As far as battles among the main players, there is always such a profound mutual respect between the "good" guys and the "bad" guys, that I can't help but admire their individual appeal. Sure, the main adversaries may be twisted by our standards, but it's because they have a vision of how they see their world filtered through their own sense of justice. No two dimensional typical Yakuza bad guys here except for the henchmen which is pretty appropriate. My favorite moments in the boss battles have to be the scripted HEAT action sequences. It's so interesting to me that through a couple of well-timed on-screen guided button presses a la Shenmue or Heavy Rain, it can make you so emotionally invested in the over-the-top drama of battle. When a great punch or kick connects because you happen to hit X at just the right moment, you can't help but feel responsible for it, especially the final battles.

There's been a lot of debate regarding whether someone should start with earlier Yakuza titles if they're new to the series. In my opinion, Yakuza 4 is superior to Yakuza 3...but you should still start with Yakuza 3, or even earlier games. If I had a PS2 compatible system, I would be on those myself (except for the first one, I just can't imagine playing with dubbed English voices). The reason I say this is because much of the emotional pay-off that comes with Yakuza 4 is structured upon the journey you take with Kiryu in the earlier games. You have a greater appreciation for his struggles, as well as his relationships with the likes of Majima, Daigo, and particularly Hamazaki. Sure, for the sake of convenience there are recaps of the first three games and while I appreciate Sega putting those in for newcomers, I imagine it just wouldn't be the same as playing through Yakuza 1-3, or at least 3. When you finally get to the orphanage, you can't help but identify emotionally to what that place means for you considering that in Yakuza 3 you spend a lot of time there. I sort of equate it to watching a show like LOST starting from season 2 or 3. Yeah, I mean you can do it and have your friends recap the particulars of the first season, but it's just not the same satisfying feeling of going through so much history with familiar faces over the course of four games.

That you only spend a fraction of the game playing as Kiryu shouldn't detract you from the game. If anything, it makes it all the more satisfying to reunite with him when you finally get to play as him. Anyway, I realize this is long and probably didn't talk about things in length such as gameplay, sound, etc. but you need to pick this game up. This is one of those games that I would probably tell people is more like an "experience" that you need to have. And when you finally beat this game, you get a trophy aptly called "Thank You". When game creators are gracious toward their fans (like MGS4, Uncharted 2, and now this), it really shows throughout the entire experience. I literally felt like I spent a whole week in bustling Tokyo (Kamurocho).

-----

I'm going to beat this game before I elaborate on some of the more technical points (which are all excellent, particularly the ambient sound and voice acting). I can't bring myself to beat it before I complete most of the sub-stories. I know there's a premium adventure once you beat the game but I know like the last one, I won't go back to it once the main story is finished.

Want Yakuza 4 Discount?

You either like this series or you dont. If you do, you're gonna love Y4-

Here's why:

Panty-thiefs falling from rooftops to opera music and visions of bras

Hobos put your enemies into half-nelsons

Kidnappers enraptured by fishnet stalkings

Tough Yakuza signing soft ballads

Dont know wtf I'm talking about? Ya, exactly, welcome to Yakuza 4-

This game is nuts, you just walk around and beat the tar outta people, in between beatdowns, there are tons and tons of side stories, collection quests, revelations and .

Seems like everything is here too: All the games, all the hostess quests, all the quirky sideshops, the japanese culture, tons and tons of side stories.

I've put in about 16hrs and I'm like 3.99% done...unreal. There is SO freakin much to do in this game it's crazy.

The upgrade system has changed a little, you now get the 'soul points' per level that you can use or save for the moves/abilities that require 3+ soul points.

And with more 3 new characters to play come new fighting moves, and the heat moves are nastier than ever.

I probably only have so little completed cause all I do is run around looking to unleash these moves on these guys who dont like the way I just walked by them.

Another to mention are the cutscenes. They're kinda deep. Some of the things they talk about arent about the game at all but about life, social issues, economic issues, political stuff...I'm not a cutscene kinda guy but I've always enjoyed the ones in Yakuza for whatever reason.

There is one major problem I've encountered with this game...your first fight in Okinawa. It could just be a mental thing but after 8 tries I couldnt do it and refused to lower the difficulty lol.

In closing, this is how a sequel should be made:

A familiar setting but with more content and new features added in with the old.

The safest pre-order I've placed in years.

If you're a movie buff, you'll love the variety of movies here, and the myriad ways in which your movie knowledge is questioned. I'm especially fond of the pixelated, animated reproductions of scenes from various movies. The MAJOR flaw/oversight in this game is the lack of online play. Hey Scene It makers, take a cue from Buzz It's the 21st Century and people LOVE to play against each other online!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How an online component to this game wasn't included is beyond me. Other niggling complaints are how the host's animated speech is unsynchronized with his voice, and the limited choice of avatars. Other than that, as a movie trivia party game, Scene It rocks.

I enjoyed this game. The movie trivia has a broad range of years from Breakfast at Tiffany's, to movies that came out in the end of 2009 . There are a few things I would change, but over all it is a great game. The game is something that most everyone would enjoy playing, unless they do not watch movies. My mom does not play video games but enjoys playing this one. It is probably more fun competing with someone else, though you can play by yourself. The host gets annoying because he repeats the same thing over and over after a while, but I turned him off. I am very happy with the game and do not regret buying it.

Fun for game night the only thing that kinda sucks is it's not upgradable. That would have made me play it more to be honest but it's still a gamenight favorite.

That's a nice choice, it comes with the game and also gives you a bonus code to 3 Unlock Points to use on the weapon or ability of your choice, and also includes the Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack, featuring two of the most popular maps from Killzone 2. The box is beautiful by the way.

I bought this for a friend of mine's birthday. It's a great deal, but I do wish the console were a special edition version like what was released for Metal Gear Solid 4 in Japan. Even if it were just a white console, that would have been cool. Oh well, this is a fantastic buy and Killzone 3 is great. Better controls than Killzone 2, decent continuing story from the Killzone universe, and an absolute graphical masterpiece. If this is your first PS3, I highly recommend Killzone 2, Resistance, Resistance2, the God of War Collection, God of War 3, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4 (only if you know and understand the Metal Gear series and don't mind a lot of cut scenes). PS3 has become my favorite console (I do own a Wii and 360) and if it weren't for the fact that I have a lot of friends on Xbox Live this would probably be my only primary console. This is still one of the best Blu-Ray players, you can watch Netflix streaming service without having to pay extra like you do with LIVE, and you can use VUDU, MLB TV, NHL gamecenter, and if you pay for the Playstation Plus service ($50 per year) you get tons of discounts and free games on the Playstation Store. I've checked and for $50 with Playstation Plus I've already saved over $200 on the Playstation store and I haven't even had the service for a year. Another great additive is that Sony now allows you to buy an extended warranty directly from them over the Playstation Store which automatically registers your PS3 with Sony and can extend their coverage up to 2 years. I have two PS3's. 120gb and an original 60gb. I had to send the 60 gb in to Sony a long time ago to have the HDMI output replaced, but that is the only time I've had a problem with this console. I've had 6 Xbox 360's. All of which failed. So which is the more dependable console? Finally the PS3 allows you to expand it's hard drive space to any size, because it simply uses a normal SATA 2.5" HDD (Laptop hard drive). I currently have 500gb HDDs in both my PS3s and it only cost me about 60 bucks for the hard drives. Long ago when the PS3 came out I was solidly against it when compared to the 360, but since then Sony has righted many wrongs and have made the PS3 my console of choice. If you disagree, cool. To each his/her own.

Great bundle with one of the best games released to date for the PS3. Would have liked to see an extra controller or at least an HDMI cable but for 299 it's still a great price because you're essentially getting the game free with some nice extras (3 unlock points) and a map pack for free as well.
