I felt like I had to write this review because of the extreme negativity of the previous review. I love College Hoops 2k7. While I haven't played the XBox version, I've played a number of PS2 college basketball games, and this has the best gameplay. I particularly like the free-throw system. It's similar to what they've attempted to do in previous years with the analog stick, but it's much easier to control. It is more difficult to get free throws on the hardest difficulty levels, but I still average 70-80%, which is a realistic free throw percentage. My biggest complaint is that there is not a terrible difference in difficulty levels. On the lowest levels you can essentially steal every inbounds pass, and even on the hardest it is not difficult to steal inbounds passes. It's nice that you can, but it's a little too easy. For a more in-depth review I recommend any of the usual sources (Gamespot, IGN, etc.), but I wanted to post this to say that I and my roommates thoroughly enjoy this game.

The game is just Okay in my opinion. If there would have been more and better dunks I would have given it a higher score, other than that it is a great game, 2K is the best when it comes to sports games. If anyone is looking for a sports game I will probably always recommend 2K sports because they have never disappointed me and I have been playing 2K games ever since NBA 2K for the Dreamcast.

The game is impressive for going on being 5 yrs old, visually as well as the overall depth of the game. Also, in typical Amazon.com fashion, the product was delivered punctually; and in new, unopened condition. For the cost, its a great addition to your game library if you do not own a college basketball game.

This is the greatest college basketball game I have seen around. I just got it a few weeks ago, and it's hard for me to put down once I start playing. The gameplay/controls are reasonably easy, much like any other PS3 sports game/basketball game. They did a tremendous job getting the actual player names, coaches, and arenas for most of the NCAA conferences. Being born and raised near Carver Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, this gave me chills when I heard the chanting and saw all the black and gold. Gave me the feeling of being back at an Iowa game right away. The ability to play rivalries and conference games is great. With the price this is going for now online, it is a must have, even though the names are out of date. Pick this up now!!!

The Icon guitar stand is very quick and easy to assemble and displays your Guitar Hero or Rock Band Guitar very nicely. It's simple but functional and it seems to be durable and made well. You can fold it down if you want for storage. It also has a fastener that wraps around the neck to keep you guitar from falling off of the stand. As an added bonus it comes with a 10' USB extension that I have found useful for other games as well. This is a great value and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

This is the worst product I have ever purchased for my PS3. The sensitivity is way too high and the calibration is totally ineffective unless you're within about five feet of the television and dead center. The game (Cabela's) is fun and much easier to control with a regular controller. Don't bother with this thing. It's so horribly made it's not even worth the effort of returning.

Picked this up for my son, and was very impressed with it. Good action, great graphics, a blast to play overall. My itches with it were relatively minor, but they did hinder my enjoyment.

1) Lack of quality voice acting from the movie, or the series. Even though it's the same actors from the movie, the voices just don't sound right. It serves to pull you out a bit when the voices are so different, but that could just be a diehard fan like me.

2) Having to hold the transform button down to stay in vehicle mode. When Optimus rolls out, I doubt it's a conscious effort to stay in that form.

3) The mission style of gameplay is a bit dated, especially when you don't get any free roam capabilities, which would have made this game 10x better.

4) Multiplayer is only over the internet, no 2 player splitscreen co-op, or even deathmatch. This is very lame, especially with this generation of consoles, this should be standard.

Other than that, it really is a fun game for what it is, but very much linear.

Transformers revenge of the fallen makes for a good purchase but I don't think it has enough replay value to justify its price unless you enjoy online multiplayer or if you enjoy collecting games like me ^^

Mission enviornments are nicely done and usually there are large amounts of destructable objects in each level.

Autobot and Decepticon models look good, are highly detailed with nice textures and everything is scaled correctly in game.

Each mission takes place on a open-map,some maps have pedestrians and vehicles that walk and drive around the city that can be either crushed or destroyed ^^

Free roam is nice but there are no enemies to fight, it would've been nice if the developer luxoflux had added bots and possibly a skirmish mode like they had in Vigilante 8 and Second offense to give the game more replayability, I know that may be asking too much considering this is a movie licensed game...One negative is when the robot transforms to a vehicle we can't stop or reverse, the vehicle is always zooming forward, Its frustrating.

I completed both campaigns in about 8 hours but I was taking my time and having fun exploring the maps, blasting enemies and laying waste to enviornmental objects, I really like stepping on the tiny little pedestrians ^^

14 zones containing 23 missions take place in such exotic locations such as the American east and west coast, the Atlantic ocean, Egypt and China.

The enemy AI seems intelligent enough to provide some fun, they will climb buildings or transform between different vehicles but they usually don't present much of a challenge.

I recommend it... Its fun, looks nice graphically, provides a fair challenge but doesn't have much replay value unless you play the missions over and over or play online.

The last Transformers video game is too difficult for my son. However, my son is having a blast with this Revenge of the Fallen game! Our household really loves Transformers and saw the movie on opening night,so we all get into this game. The game is so exciting to play. My son is still getting used to the controls but he's doing well enough to advance pretty good through the game since he's had it over the past two days. He will be starting preschool in a couple of months. I usually don't let him play a game as much at one time like I have been but he's amazing me and my husband, and my husband loves playing it with him even though he's not the gaming type. It was worth the money spent already!

The last Transformers movie tie-in game was a pretty run of the mill experience that you would come to expect from a game of the type. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a little bit better in those regards, albeit not by much. Much like the last time around, you can choose to be either on the Autobots or Decepticons side, and familiar faces like Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and Starscream are abound as well. In terms of action, the game provides a hearty amount of it, with the only problem being there's really no variety to the missions, and everything as a whole just gets way too repetitive. The control schemes are awkward between the robot and vehicle modes, while the robots themselves are wonderfully rendered, compared to the bland environments they find themselves in. There's some fun to be had in the game's various multiplayer modes as well, but just like the last game before it, there really isn't all that much here to sustain your interest. All in all, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is worth checking out for Transformers fans, and that's really all that need apply.

First of all take in consideration that I am a huge fan, so this game was a no brainer for me, so here it is what i liked most about this game.

The graphics are great, but one thing confuses me, on the box says it supports full HD but it only goes as high as 720, but I can live with that, the game controls at first are a bit confusing, but after a few minutes of play time you'll get the hang of it, the missions are pretty simple, protect and beat the crap out of the enemy. The only thing that i would like to change are the cut scenes, they are just to short, but none the less the game is great.

So if you grew up with these cartoons you'll love this game.

In case you know nothing about the game, the basic premise is that you play as War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Seems War answered the call that the seventh seal had been broken but was then accused of starting the Apocalypse himself. In an effort to clear his name, War is permitted to return to figure out exactly what happened. You first start the game with quite a few powers but of course, you will lose them soon enough and have to start rebuilding as War works to clear discover the truth. The plot isn't exactly stellar but it's unique enough to keep your interest and at least seems to have a point.

Now onto the appearance of the game:

The graphics take advantage of the PS3 with bright colors and less of a washed out look that seems to be prevalent in many action games. The voice work is top notch and the same is true of the musical score and general sound effects. The characters look interesting and unique and you'll see everything from demons, zombies and angels. War himself looks nice and has very fluid movement. He looks heavy and sounds that way when he moves, which isn't to say that the movements are awkward or clumsy, just solid. He doesn't flit around like the Prince of Persia I mean come on, he's War.

If you're expecting a 'God of War' type game there are similarities to be sure however the mechanics of 'Darksiders' are not quite as sophisticated. You could play as a button masher though there are combos to master which will improve your score and playing experience. The finishing moves found in the 'GOW' games (you know when the circle button appears and then you press the various button or joystick combos as they appear on the screen) are primarily reduced to a circle icon and once you press the button, War mostly just handles things by himself. I don't really feel this detracts from the game to be honest.

The game controls are easy to learn and intuitive. You collect souls which can be used as currency, wrath points or health. You level up and obtain more abilities that are tied to your weapon, combo moves, health, etc. War's weapon is one big a$$ sword to be sure and he handles it like a champ. As you progress on your journey, you will achieve more and more weapon abilities and skills which really add to the game playing experience overall.

The atmosphere of the game is first rate. The developers obviously dedicated a great deal of time and attention to the details and it really paid off. Cars, buildings, creatures, all of it, look realistic (well as realistic as a freaky demon can look). The game gets better as it progresses...in fact, though you'll have fun during the first 45 60 minutes of the game, it is the weakest portion of the game overall. As you move through the game, the areas, enemies, your weapons and abilities get bigger and better. The story line keeps things moving and you want to see what comes next. There are quite a few puzzles as you move through the game, most are simple though a few can be frustrating.

I have to say I am quite pleased with it and feel it is definitely worth the purchase and is one of the better PS3 games I've played. I've yet to find any glitches or issues in the PS3 version. If you like action-adventure games with puzzle elements, you are probably going to like this one as well.

Overview:

Graphics: A+

Gameplay: A+

Mechanics and Controls: A

Storyline: A+

Artwork / Visual Design: A

Originality: B (original story, familiar mechanics)

Fun Factor: A+

This game is gorgeous, simple as that. The developers have taken the time to create a visually stunning world and a fluid gaming experience, but that's just the beginning. The storyline is very unique and definitely keeps you interested. All of the game mechanics are well handled, with nothing feeling labored, repetitive, or unnecessary. If I have criticism, it is a minor one. This game was clearly built off of God of War's engine, with similar controls, combat styles, leveling systems, etc. At least in my opinion, however, that is a minor issue. I'm a huge God of War fan, and I see no problem with the way the build was handled.

While the game may show a large amount of mechanical similarity to God of War, that is really where the comparison ends. Darksiders drops you into a post apocalyptic nightmare of a world that is an amazingly organic blend of Heaven, Hell, and the modern world. The game contains many beautifully designed levels that have you running down city streets one moment, and fighting in a Hell spawned cesspool the next, with one flowing beautifully into the other. Character and monster design leave nothing to be desired either, with wonderfully detailed nightmares and angelic warriors coming at you from all sides. This game definitely has the eye candy taken care of.

As far as the mechanics go, as I said, think God of War and you've pretty well got the idea. You're going to collect souls in order to level up. You'll learn new skills, get new toys, and those toys will need to be leveled as well. You'll run around unique, artistic maps solving complex puzzles. Combat is largely combo based versus multiple opponents, with multiple weapons to choose from. One of the amusing additions to combat is the ability to use just about anything in the environment as an improvised weapon. Street signs, street lamps, cars, you can use them all as either projectiles or beating implements. When the boss fights come up, you'll be working to beat them down to a context specific cut scene finale. If you enjoyed the GoW's gameplay style, you'll feel right at home here. And honestly, there is something to be said for that. The familiar mechanics mean that there's no time wasted figuring out how the game works, and more time spent actually playing the game.

Finally and most importantly, the storyline. Darksiders is the story of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War is summoned by the start of the Apocalypse, and comes to Earth to complete his task, but finds himself the only Horseman to do so. Turns out, somebody started the party early, and War ends up taking the blame. In a bid to clear his name and earn back his power, War returns to Earth to track down those responsible. I'm a big mythology buff, and this concept really intrigued me. No one had really attempted to tackle the Four Horsemen before, despite with well known, widespread nature of the story, and it is rich with possibilities. While I won't include any spoilers here, trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed by how they handle it and what they do with the material. If you have an interest in mythology, this is a game you will want to play.

Bottom line, I really don't have any criticisms of this game. I've been looking forward to it for some time, and it has fulfilled its potential completely. I have no doubt that we can look forward to sequels down the road, and I look forward to them. This is a masterfully crafted game, beautifully designed, and a pleasure to play. Do yourself a favor and buy it.

Looking for something to hold you over before God Of War 3? Look no further. This game delivers it. Straight hack/slash action with what is turning out to be a really good story that has me captivated to know what will happen next. It pretty much uses the God Of War combat style but so what. I LOVE this format. No spending hours learning how to play. Just put it in the PS3 and start playing. My kind of game. If you like God Of War and Devil May Cry type games then this game is for you. Good old fashion game play with great graphics and you can go anywhere. You will have fun going berserk with War. Is there anything better? Not to me. War screamed to the Charred Council, "I answered the call". Answer his an PLAY THIS GAME.

Update 2/6/10: Just beat this game. Story is great. War shall return along with his brothers for revenge. GREAT GAME!!!!!!!

Update 3/22/2010: Listen people this is the (God Of War) fighting format but so what. (God Of War) is the (Soul Reaver) fighting format, concepts and so on. People act like God Of War started it all. IT DIDN'T. Still great game.

When DARKSIDERS was first released (Jan 5th, 2010) I scoured Amazon reviews for several weeks to determine whether it would be worth my time and money. The most convincing opinion of the time was that of the 2-star review stating the game was repetitive, uninspired and derivative. As a fan of Zelda and God of War I decided to rent the game with my Gamefly giftcard. Once I had finished scrubbing off the tiremarks and cigarette burns from the disc, my hour long playthrough led me to believe the review was spot-on and I returned the game without looking back. I was under the impression that time-limit combo sequences, copy-cat gameplay and formulaic environmental design was all that lay ahead. After all, those were the defining points of the 2-star review. ....BUT, just like his Apocalyptic Oppressors, I had dealt War and his allies a huge injustice. One I wish to set straight.

Fast forward to nearly 16 months later and a price drop of $40. Darksiders came highly recommended by another Amazon reviewer with high rated marks and similar genre interests. After playing for two hours I found myself ENTRANCED by this game. My initial disinterest in the title was clearly from not giving it proper time to develop into its own. The first hour serves as a tutorial for the game. However, it is embedded into gameplay in such a way as to make you unaware that you are being taught how to play while still holding the metaphorical reins. The small attention to detail, down to instructional direction, is inspiring. This game is clearly NOT made by amateurs. This game consistently provided me with challenging puzzles, a powerful narrative framework, ambitious variety and dynamic visuals.

GAMEPLAY:

War has such a HUGE arsenal of moves and artifacts that the pause menu is initially daunting. The game provides a steady stream of equipment and features a remarkable method of mapping these buttons in a manageable way. Although the game includes a selection of Link's gadgetry, Darksiders spins the angle to embrace the aesthetic and physical facets of the end of days. War doesn't have a boomerang that makes enemies spin and light red. He has a Crossblade than saws into his enemies with visceral accuracy and sadistic destruction. Darksiders' greatest achievement is in weaving innumerable gameplay elements into a cohesive package within a single atmosphere. I found myself shooting blue/orange portals to direct soul power, grappling across chasms, using a visor (mask) to see into a different realm, soaring through dilapidated cities on the wings of a griffon, blasting cannons across rickety bridges, and charging my fiery horse Ruin against tower-sized beasts. Darksiders has an UNCANNY ability to mold various properties into the mythos of Armageddon. If I had never played the games from which it borrows, I could easily have believed Darksiders pioneered the use of each and every relic.

The game took me 15 hours to complete, but would have taken me a few more to find all of the unlockable pieces of armor and upgrades. Different upgrade tokens can be assigned to different weapons and a multitude of combinations can be used to defeat enemies on your own terms. Do you want to play like Devil May Cry? Use a powerful sword uppercut to lift the enemy into the sky and reign down bullets with your gun. Do you want to play like God of War? Use your gauntlet to smash a horde of enemies and create a swirling vortex of souls with your Scythe to decimate their numbers. Start a combo by blowing the Earthcaller horn to stun some demons and club them with your home-run crushing Chaos Eater sword swing. Every combo has smooth camera work and stunning animation to augment War's abilities. You have near limitless control to play in the manner you prefer.

The Watcher (voiced by Mark Hamill) is a demon sent by the "Council" to keep War from disobeying his initial task. Holding "select" will call him forth to provide hints or direction for missions. This, in tandem with an excellent map and fast-travel Serpent Hole system, keep your progression constant while allowing you to backtrack at any point to collect new items. From the controls to the weapon and gameplay variety, everything in Darksiders is masterfully crafted and deeply engaging.

CHARACTERS:

War is a brilliant characterization of the Judeo-Christian horseman. He stands with impunity at the feet of Heaven and Hell's armies, ready to defend his honor and uphold his code despite the obstacles and cautions foretold by others. Despite drawing from religious mythos, I personally enjoy the creation of a character who can appeal to gamers from a plethora of religions and cultures. Rather than embody orthodox Christian overtones, War is an idealization of the solitary hero: resilient, adapting, discerning and powerful. War's voice acting is superb and does a phenomenal job of conveying defiance in the face of much larger enemies. To great effect, these enemies and allies also perpetuate a believable world caught in a supernatural struggle. Samael speaks with unearthly distinction and visuals that almost seem to draw ash and brimstone through your screen and into your living room. The Destroyer seethes deceptive charm like a proverbial serpent to waylay the gullible. Slitha bargains with cynical distress and convincing intonation. There are no characters within Darksiders that feel out of place or forcefully acted. Every enemy or ally speaks with sincerity and savvy. Every design is original, detailed and enigmatic.

SOUND AND VISUALS:

From Voice Acting to Music and Sound Effects, all of the sound in Darksiders is Top-Notch. The merchant Vulgrim impatiently clacks his skeletal hands for the Horseman's purchases with the same clarity as War's horse rising with gusto from the fiery ground. There are a multitude of locations which feature the same comic book style art, vividly bright visuals and bold design. From ashen deserts, crumbling highways, and lush valleys to decaying fortresses and cobwebbed dungeons, Darksiders moves beyond its subject material to visualize a colorful world typically represented with greys and reds. If you are inclined to like the stylistic nature of this game, everything is a visual treat. I had not previously been a fan of Joe Madureira, but this game easily won me over. Enemy and boss variety, environmental structures, and weapon/artifact models blend seamlessly into the surroundings.

A FEW MINOR QUIRKS:

Despite all of my glowing points,... the game has a few very small annoyances. Many of the upgradeable tokens feature similar attributes, and some will only work effectively when applied to certain weapons. A larger variety and the ability to map them to all weapons equally would have made them more appealing.

Minor weapon artifacts (Crossblade/Mercy Revolver/Earthcaller) will probably see less action in battle when exploring since you must have navigational artifacts (Portal gun/ Abyssal Grappling Chain/Mask of Shadows) assigned and selected to move about the terrain. Ultimately, this will cause you to rely more on the "true" secondary weapons (Scythe/Tremor Gauntlet) rather than constantly pausing to switch out gear in the menu. Having some artifacts automatically triggered when you aimed at certain points (Like Metroid Prime) may have been the better choice for grappling, using portals, or activating switches with the Crossblade. The grappling hook also only works in a straight line (meaning you cannot use it to reach some locations more easily once you have found the artifact).

Several sections also have reoccurring moments where enemies respawn and doors are locked, forcing you to combat them all. These are not terrible, but some seem to have been placed to extend game time in certain locations.

The flight sequence (similar to Panzer Dragoon) does not allow you to invert the cursor for shooting, which makes it difficult for people who are used to inverted controls.

These are very minor issues in relation to the final package.

CONCLUSION:

Overall, I cannot wait to play the next installment of this game. Darksiders was crafted by a team of highly skilled developers, clearly with the gamer in mind. If you judge this game based on the merits of an hour long tutorial (as I originally did), you are doing yourself a GREAT disservice. I recently replayed Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 2 and God of War 3. I can tell you this game is absolutely not a cookie-cutter representation of any one of those games. Although I enjoy playing all of them, I actually like the tone and atmosphere of this game slightly more. Moreover, the ending of this game is immensely superior to all three of those games. The last time I remember playing a game and feeling the end was worth my invested time was Uncharted 2.

DARKSIDERS is a fantastic package and comes highly recommended by a converted 2-star believer. (8.8/10)

Yes, I really mean it when I say that this game is actually better than God of War. In fact I am an avid gamer and have played hundreds of different games and completed them ever since I have been a small child. Darksiders is one of the best games that I have ever played. If you are an action adventure roleplaying fan then you will love this game that is a perfect mix of God of War, World of Warcraft, and Zelda. This title somehow flies under the radar as being one of PS3's most popular games...I don't know why. Maybe because of the subject matter...it definitely is meant for a more mature audience. Anyways, pick up this game. I guarantee you will love it. War is the man! I cannot wait for Darksiders 2! \m/

The Starter Bundle makes it quick and easy for those who already have a PS3 to get an idea of what Move is about. Depending on what you already have on your PS3 and of what/how you are planning to play, all you may need could be just the Move controller and nothing else or you may want to order some additional controllers instead of this bundle.

If you don't have a PS3, then the PlayStation 3 320GB System with PlayStation Move Bundle should be the way to go.

WHAT YOU GET, WHAT ELSE YOU MAY NEED/WANT

Briefly, this is what you get in with this bundle and I will make it very short because there's a lot of info. at the Amazon page:

* Move controller, of course

* PlayStation Eye camera (must have for the Move to work)

* Sports Champions (Ping Pong is simply awesome, some of the games play much better with a second controller)

* A disc with Demos which should be available at the PSN store as well

Depending on how you are planning to play your games, this is what you don't get but may end up buying eventually:

One more additional Move Controller (some games will either require two controllers or will play better with two)

Navigation Controller(s) (you can use the DualShock in your left hand but it feels weird)

One or more extra USB wires if you don't have enough already to charge your new controller(s) OR

Dedicated charger, especially if you have more than one Move controller and/or Navigation controller(s)

GO FOR THE STARTER BUNDLE OR NOT?

The Motion Controller and the PS Eye are the minimum needed to bring 'Move' to a any PS3 console. No exceptions. If you already have a PS Eye then the controller alone is the only purchase necessary. On the other hand, to fully enjoy certain games, you may want TWO Move Controllers. This starter bundle makes sense if you don't have the Eye already and you are into the type of games that Sports Champions has. You could still get it and then sell the Eye if you already have one. The same goes for the Sports Champions. It comes sealed so you can sell it as 'new' and recover some funds in the process.

MOVE'S MOTION CONTROLLER

The Wikipedia has a very thorough review of the technology inside the controller impressive. It's probably worth going there to get an idea of what's under the hood.

From a user's point of view, the Move could be viewed as approximately the right side of the DualShock 3 where the motion tracking function is the R3 analog stick, R1 is the MOVE button and the R2 becomes the Move's T(rigger). You also get the 4 Square/Circle/X/Triangle, in a square (not 'diamond') formation, the PS button as well as the START and SELECT. So far, the most used buttons during gameplay were the MOVE and the T(rigger).

In addition, you get a wrist strap. At the opposite end of the microphone-shaped Move there's a USB Mini-B port for charging and another port that seems to be proprietary must investigate.

The controller is quite substantial as far as both size and weight I like that and liked its being shaped in a way that makes it easy to grab and hold. Very much like a microphone or a very thick magic wand; NOT a remote control.

Based on my experience so far, Move's ability to track your motions far surpasses anything that I'm aware of in the gaming universe. Every single movement, up/down, left/right, toward/away and wrist rotation are accurately captured and almost instantly reflected on the screen and so is acceleration that would usually translates as 'force' in games such as sword fights or ping pong. In addition, there is haptic (tactile/rumble) feedback, a little too weak in the games I played so far, making the gaming experience that much more realistic.

I am not writing a lot about the Eye camera because... it's just there and it's not the subject of this review. For as long as it can see you, it simply does its part so that you may enjoy your game.

THE GAME

Sports Champions consists of 6 separate events where you play through one of the available characters either against the other characters provided by the game or against another player will need a second Move controller for that. As expected, there are levels of difficulties, medals and various bonuses.

PING PONG shows Move's nothing short of amazing ability to track its controllers position in 3D space and, better, even detect moves such as wrist rotation and to track acceleration as 'force' and do it in real time. Playing Ping Pong is challenging, fun, frustrating and addictive. My entire arm, from wrist all the way up to the neck hurts already and I'm not even done with the Bronze Medal challenge yet (almost there).

ARCHERY is probably second most popular, at least in our household. We like it because, unlike PING PONG, we don't sweat a lot while playing it. ARCHERY is also one of the 3 included games that make it quite clear that you will be much better off with TWO Motion Controllers. Some of the challenges look quite cheesy shooting at floating money bags but we've spent some time playing it and it's likely that we are going to play some more in the future.

The GLADIATOR SWORD FIGHT game, even more than ARCHERY would benefit from TWO Motion Controllers one for the sword/axe and a second for a shield. With one controller only, you must pull the trigger to raise and use your shield or use the sword otherwise. Yes, Sony gave us BUTTONS but the game is ten times more realistic when you actually push your shield forward the way you would actually do it in real life rather than pull the trigger to raise the shield and, at the same time push the Move button while making a 'push' motion.

BOCCE... ever played it? I have a couple of times. Plays well with one controller but it can be a little boring. Good simulation.

FRISBEE GOLF is not bad. Actually played it in real life on the course we have at the nearby state park. It's a little slow but it's good relaxation after you sweat yourself out on PING PONG or GLADIATOR.

VOLLEYBALL, again, can be so much better with two Motion Controllers. Also, be careful if you play in a room with low ceilings or anything that hangs from the ceiling like a ceiling fan or a priceless crystal candelabrum.

Considering that Sports Champions is an early game, my expectations were not that high but, surprisingly, Ping Pong exceeded my expectations. I've been playing real Ping Pong ever since I was 11 or 12 so I probably know what I'm talking about and the Move version of Ping Pong is GOOD. As for the others... sword fight, not so good. Archery was okay, Bocce was so-so, Frisbee Golf not too bad.

For the games I've played so far, this is NOT a couch experience. On the Sports events I was sweating after a few minutes and my Move arm is now hurting from the wrist all the way up to the neck.

MY RATING

It's 5 stars for the technical merit, ease of setup and for the overall experience. Hopefully, lots of good games will be coming quickly.

Positives:

Intuitive design.

Excellent precision.

Realistic anti-waggle feedback.

Almost no detectable delay.

Negatives:

Obnoxious disco ball light.

Bundle comes with only 1 controller.

You must have plenty of space to play with it.

In a nutshell the Move brings the motion tracking of the Wii to the awe-inspiring graphics engine of the PS3. It's enough to make one salivate at the possibilities.

Please note that I'm rating this primarily from a family/kid oriented perspective (given how we use it in our home), and not as a hard core individual gamer. This is just my opinion for what it's worth and I don't intend to offend anyone's sensibilities. My intent is not to stoke a PS3 vs. Wii war, and I'm just using the Wii as a comparison point, given my personal experience with both systems.

While I was an early Wii adopter, most of my game investments have been for the PS3 (Bioshock 1 & 2, Infamous, Fallout 3, IL2 Sturmovik, Valkyria Chronicles, ...), primarily for the depth of gameplay and graphics that it makes possible especially on large screen televisions.

Well, the Move signals that the PS3 has finally caught up with the Wii and in many ways has actually surpassed it.

Unfortunately, though the implementation of the Move is technologically a 5-star, the fun quotient for this particular game is closer to a 3-star especially when a kid-oriented audience is concerned.

What is awesome about the Move?

########################

1. The Playstation Eye Camera actually follows the bright light at the end of the controller, so is able to sense the minutest movements in all three dimensions. It is actually fairly uncanny how well it tracks your movements. This brings an air of realism to games that is sometimes unreal!

2. The accompanying games are well executed and quite bug free a huge feat in itself. In addition, the games seem to have an amazing amount of physics realism that really begins to get challenging at harder difficulty levels. For instance, with archery you need to consider the parabolic trajectory of your arrows which gets progressively more important as the targets move farther out from you.

3. The motion controller acts as a navigation controller so you don't need your DualShock PS3 controller. Press the "T"rigger button, and then use horizontal/vertical gestures to navigate the PS3's XMB interface.

What bothers me about the starter bundle?

#############################

1. There isn't a single game that can be played simultaneously by a family of 4. I remember very fondly the family tennis games with the Wii but that's not going to happen here. The only games that support 4 players, require each player to take turns in sequence (i.e., Bocce Ball and Disc Golf).

It's also a pity that the games are fairly limited in number no tennis, bowling, or even golf.

2. It comes with only one motion controller.

This is a problem because some of the games in the pack really require 2 controllers for it to be fun. For example, without a second controller games like archery devolve into a point-the-controller exercise, which is rather fatiguing for small arms. For adults, Gladiator Duel feels a bit silly with just one controller.

3. Gone are the friendliness of the Mii characters. The characters on the Move starter pack are mildly annoying and even quite aggressive in jeering at you when they win which was off putting for my youngest. Fortunately, you can shut them up with a click of the Next button.

In addition, you can't customize your avatars which used to be a source of endless amusement for kids (and parents) when using the Wii.

4. Each time you play, you start with a predefined character (Kenji, Giselle, etc.), and these characters are shared across all family members. As a result, kids don't get to have a "personal best" score associated with their own character. This was a key draw for us on the Wii, as we kept trying to better each other's scores. Unfortunately, Sports Champion doesn't give us the same emotional attachment to a character and there's no permanent digital scoreboard that let's the kids feel superior to us.

Conclusion:

##########

If I were rating just the hardware, I'd give it 5 stars. My rating is for the overall enjoyment that my family and I derived from the starter bundle.

In summary then, we liked the Move but with some caveats.

1) It isn't a game changer for family evenings we'll still use our Wii for that.

2) I'm awed by the technical brilliance of the Move, and I'm waiting for games that will take full advantage of it.

In the meantime, it definitely is a fun curiosity that I'm sure I'll use occasionally.

Happy Move-ing!

I've had a PS3 since Nov. of 2006 and consider myself to be a hardcore gamer and technophile. I've been researching the different controller schemes for quite some time and I feel that Sony has the right combination for it's motion control device (MOVE). The problem I've had with the PS3 is finding a game that my wife can play with me that really allows her to share gaming time with me. Since the Move has come out she asks me everyday for a game of bocce (a highly addictive and competitive gaming event included in the Sports Champion game). I picked up the Sports Champions bundle along with an extra move controller and the navigation controller. The camera and controller combination that Sony has employed with this device allows for true 1:1 tacking of your motions which makes it easy to lose track that you have a controller in your hands as you are taken in by how well you can control your character in the game. Yesterday, I had a friend of mine over that owns a Wii to get his take on the device. After playing it 6 hours straight he told me that he loved the controller and how it performed and that he was considering selling his Wii to purchase this. Try it yourself and make the decision but from what I've found, it is a solid device and will only get better. Congrats to Sony.

The Wii was a revolutionary experience, and really really fun. Nintendo did a great job with it and deserve all the credit (and money) they got for it.

The Move takes what the Wii did and builds on it with great success. It's just a better device. Precision and accuracy are considerably better, the device feels good in your hand, and with standard Sony design, it just looks better. I've always been a proponent of matching (all black) media equipment, so I never liked how my Wii stood out like a sore thumb in my entertainment center. The Move fits a lot better.

The Wii's precision left a lot to be desired. The hand icon would shake a lot as you were pointing and clicking, even when I was aiming directly. That's no longer the case with the Move. It really feels like it's a mouse for your TV; that level of control, that level of accuracy, that level of precision.

The games are good, although I've always enjoyed Wii games, so I'm not sure that Sony has done any better on that front. That said, I'm sure as more and more games come out for this, it'll be better than the Wii games (just because PS3 games are always awesome.)

One final thing is price. You already spent nearly $300 on your PS3, and then another $100 for this is a lot of money when you can get a Wii for $200. So if you are budget conscious, perhaps the Wii is the better option. The Move is certainly better, but not for someone who would also need to buy a PS3. What I"m saying is, don't buy a PS3 just so you can get Move. If you have one already, definitely go for it. If you don't, and you want to save some money, go with the Wii.

Enjoy!

This game is not by any means a game that sets new industry standards, but if you are a fan of the movies or the first game, give this one a try. The game play is most comparable to a really easy to use and fluid silent hill game. There are major improvements all across the board from the first game. The combat is much easier, the story is more complex and interesting and the game play is just better all around. Tobin Bell once again does the voice for jigsaw because the game would be a complete failure without him doing it, the graphics aren't really any different from the first game, maybe a little more polished and the same semi-cheesy sound effects are there from the first game along with the score from the movie. Really, one of the only negative things is that some of the puzzles (like in the first game) can be extremely frustrating. Here is the all-in-all, and keep in mind, i'm really comparing this to the first game and i'm also a big fan of the movie series.

game play 9/10

graphics 7/10

story 8/10

sound 8/10

"scare factor" 6/10 (a few "jump out" moments here and there, with some cool gruesome scenes)

overall pretty sweet game 8.5/10 and hope they make more!

I played and beat the first Saw video game, and I was pretty satisfied with the gameplay experience. But it had its flaws, most notably the combat system and sub-par graphics.

Saw II: Flesh and Blood is indeed better than the first, but it also has its flaws.

The games graphics are noticably much more polished and refined from the first, but at the same time they look very similar to the graphics of the first Saw game. A lot of the environment has also improved in terms of looks, as well as the animation of the characters, but the environment can also look extremely fake and boring at times as well. The voice acting is also better, but in some situations it becomes flat and doesn't actually sound right according to the situation that the characters are in.

The gameplay has improved over the first, except the combat system.

For those who are familiar with the combat system of the first game, you will find the newer combat to be very frustrating, as it is based on quick-timing events rather than just outright hitting the foe with a bat or your fists. Once you get close to an attacking enemy, time will slow down and you will have to follow on-screen instructions to take your enemy down. At first it can be hard and frustrating, but you will adapt over time. But honestly, I found the combat system from the first game to be much better.

One of the major improvements of the series is the new designs of the traps and other puzzles that you come across in the game, such as the lock-picking mechanic. The lock-picking mechanic looks more realistic that the previous one, but its too easy to unlock the door. They could have made it more challenging, but I guess this will have to do.

Another improvement that Saw II has is the length of the game. The game is longer than Saw and there are a lot more victims that you must save from Jigsaw's traps to continue. The puzzles in various parts of each level are also more challenging, but not too hard either. The game also has more endings, which is quite pleasing.

But one of the biggest flaws that the game has to offer are the 'games' that you must play to save victims from their traps. The 'games' that you play are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!! The game (or Jigsaw) doesn't give you very many clues on how to complete them, and you are going to find yourself losing and replaying the same scene over and over and over again for a very long time, which gets incredibly repetitive and boring. And you don't have the option to skip the trap either.

The story can also be rather confusing from time to time, but I will not divulge the story details in this review.

All in all, Saw II: Flesh and Blood is a worthy successor of its predecessor, but it also has more flaws than the first game did.

Final rating: 4 stars

I liked this new Saw game more than I thought I would. It was a little more challenging than the first and the trophies were a little bit harder to achieve. However it was plagued with numerous issues such as hardlocking or crashing that were really irritating because you're unable save as much as you'd like. Also, it's disappointing that the endings are based off of your choice in the very beginning of the game which makes you play the entire game over from the beginning in order to get a different ending (or you could watch it on youtube I guess). Most likely you'll get the bad ending (like me). It was definitely worth the great price I got it at ($12)!

I don't see what all the hate is, seems like a fun game to me. Also pretty cool that your riders mp3 player uses the playlists you have on your PS3, don't know yet if that function works online or not. The mountains are plenty huge for exploration and there are challenges for those who need them. The controls aren't bad, I'm not a career gamer and I had them down in a few minutes. Not sure about other reviewers but I used to snowboard, and yes, if you don't want to do a front flip you have to stop leaning forward....common sense 101

I got this for my 12 year old brother's birthday because he was begging me for it and he loved it.

He's a huge Ben 10 fan and already has another Ben 10 PS3 game.

Only drawback, the reason why I gave it 3 stars, he and our 13 year old brother finished the entire game in one day. Either it's super easy, or they're super good... Basically, not a game kids can go back to and play a number of times.

Not upset about it though because they enjoyed the game a lot.

It's excellent, but short. As a party game: 4 stars. As a 1 or 2 player experience, 3 stars and here's why:

Everything it does, it does well. It has an excellent selection of hip-hop with a few modern hits thrown in to not make it feel entirely old school. It's definitely skewed toward the old school and hip hop greats. There's even a track with no video, cus they just couldn't live without that hit. The word recognition is phenomenal. But when it comes right down to it, this is rap karaoke and karaoke is definitely a party game. As far as Karaoke goes: this is a very short list to choose from. Sitting by yourself, you'll blow through the 5 levels (around 40 songs) & unlock the few locked songs in no time and then from that point it has very little replay value. There are some extra modes and online features to go through, but nothing too compelling. You might want to take another stab at your favorites, but other than that I don't think most people will play much by themselves. With more company, the game is a blast. The list is just long enough for everyone to find something they like and know well enough to jump right in (it's really tough if you try something you don't know the lyrics to at all). Fortunately, they've done a good job of regularly putting out downloadable songs at an extra each to give the game some more life. Also worth noting: all the songs are censored (which is not surprising) but it can make it harder. The blanks can interrupt your flow. And some of the more foul mouthed artists (lookin at u, lil kim) have entire lines blanked out, several in a row in her case. As an adult, I wish there were some option to pay for and download uncensored versions. But I completely understand why the retail copy has to be censored.

I love the concept of Rapstar and the fact that I can now enjoy some of my favorite rap songs a-la-Guitar Hero, but the game is not without a few slight disappointments.

While the game is tons of fun and I'd never get tired just rapping (no guitars, drums, turntable, keyboard, etc), the game is censored, and somewhat oddly so. There are references to alcohol and weed that are kept in, while some are taken out and I'm really not sure why. Some curse words are in there and some aren't, which I'm guessing varies based on context. There are some songs (Lil Wayne A Milli, for example) where you'll be rapping one or two words in long lines for about 4 lines. You can obviously still say what you want, but it sounds weird to have the vocals drop out; plus, it's fun to be able to see lyrics to some songs you might not be as knowledgeable about.

That's my only critique really. The music videos with the songs are great to have, the way the game works to register your rap is awesome, and it's tons of fun to play. If you're a rap fan, you'll probably like this game, despise the censorship, but still love playing it anyways 'cause no one can censor you :)

It comes with ONE wired mic. I suggest you buy TWO wireless mics from Amazon or eBay, if you want the full effect of this game. So much fun when you have more than one person playing along. Plus when you get the wireless mics you can use it for other games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. Game is ok after a while and you have to buy more song online for about a dollar or more.

The game is really fun to play. I've had a few problems with it but its because I bought it used, boy did I learn my lesson. The drum kit began giving me problems by quitting in the middle of a song. The seller sent me a new receiver and that seemed to have fixed that problem. About a week later the orange cymbal broke and did the old fashion tape fix. It works really good so I still use it. About 2 days ago the red pad quit working. I have technical background so I did my own trouble shooting and fixed it. The problem was that the wire had broken off from the sensor. Now it works fine and I enjoy playing my guitar hero tittles. (Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero Metallica, and Guitar Hero 5)

Over all it is a fun game to play, it has made me start looking in to learning how to play the real drums. I do recommend this item to any one who is looking for a good challenge.

Overall, the PS3 Guitar Hero drum kit is a nice addition to the games. It allows the player to show off their rhythm and beat to their favorite music. What's more, I was impressed at how quickly the kit could be assembled (I had the whole kit assembled in about 5-10 minutes. The only criticism I have of the drum kit is the fact that my kick pedal stopped working within the first few months. Kick pedals are relatively inexpensive though, so I just bought another one, and so far no problems. The kit itself is pretty durable though even for those really intense drumming parts such as the opening drumming solo in Hot for Teacher on GH World Tour. Overall, it is a lot of fun to play Guitar Hero with this kit, and I am really fond of the little control panel that lies in between the 2 cymbals (orange and yellow) at the top of the kit. It's easy to use, easy to assemble quickly, and a lot of fun to play.

Upon first receipt of this product I found that one of the drum pads and pedals did not work. I emailed the seller about the problem and was told not to worry and that a new one would be mailed shortly at no cost to me. I received a new working model within a few weeks and did not have to send anything back to them. Overall, although the first product I received was broken, I had a great experience with this seller since they made it so easy to make an exchange.

I was somewhat disappointed in the drum set i ordered, everything was packaged fine, however the kick pedal was not working, i wanted to take it back but my husband wanted to try and fix it since our son was the one receiving this as a birthday gift, when my husband checked the wiring for the kick pedal he noticed that someone had duct taped it (VERY TACKY) and decided to sell it to us like that, as much money that was paid for this product, you would think they would of sold us something half way decent, thank the heavens my husband knows about wiring and all that jazz because he was able to fix it and my son is happy.
