My son is 7 years old, he started getting into his dad`s game Call of Duty, so I bought him Madagascar which is kid-appropriate, and we are both happy now.

My 4 year old son is loving this game. He continually surprises me how quick he gets things and what he can do in the game. Some of the actions required for certain characters seem complicated for a 4 year old but apparently are not.

We get a little lost sometimes and it takes awhile to figure out what to do but that is part of the fun.

The violence in this game is practically non-existent. The Animal Control (DuBois etc) characters do try to catch you with nets and ropes but that is it.

Bought it for my son to use with his PS3. I've used Motorola before and liked them, although I have to say PLantronics makes a clearer unit.

Well, my son used it for a day, then stopped. When I asked him why, he said it "doesn't stay connected" to his PS3. I watched what he did and indeed it drops the bluetooth connection.

Motorola has been zero help.

Pros

Setting up this device with my PS3 was easy.

Its fun to chat with friends and in game.

Cons

The mic is almost satisfactory, the audio is muffled a bit.

The fit is terrible. I feel as though I have to sit still in order to keep this thing clipped to my ear.

Overall, I think I might check out a USB mic to see if I can get better audio quality and a better fit.

Purchased a Playstation 3 for my thirteen year old for Christmas and needed a second controller so he could play with a friend. This was the best deal I found, he had never played Resistance nor even mentioned it but for the great price I took a shot. Even tho this was ordered on the last day of Christmas shipping along with a few other items it was the only one to come late. We spent the first few days taking turns while using the single controller. He was soooo happy when he got another gift, finding out it was another controller just made his day! He was happy with the game combo also and really enjoys playing it. Hes now looking forward the third game!

Capcom has scheduled to release on 15 Nov 2011 a new disc-only version called: ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 (UMVC3 as follows), which will have:

12 New Characters

8 new stages

Improvement in online versus such as spectator mode

The new version will be completely REBALANCED such as X-factor being nerfed. There will also be new moves for characters. Therefore you may need to learn from scratch again for your favorite characters.

The exact and complete changes are not fully announced at the moment. But the retail price is already set at US$39.99. You will get more value for your money if you can wait for November release.

And most importantly...THERE WILL NOT BE A DOWNLOADABLE VERSION FOR UMVC3! You cannot enjoy an improved version without buying ANOTHER MVC3 on disc.

In accordance with Capcom usual tradition, this inferior version will be left obsolete with no more updates. Just like street fighter 4 being abandoned when the super version comes out. In fact, the developers have expressed that a downloadable version is not feasible to incorporate so many changes to the core. A new disc release is the only to go.

With all these being said, you may want to rent this game for the time being and see if the game is worth your money. You can refer to other detailed reviews for the game itself. And remember when the UMVC3 comes out, there could be yet another upgraded version in the future (similar to arcade edition for super street fighter IV).

P.S. I have never written a review on Amazon before. But the disgusted act by Capcom to abuse fans' loyalty is irritating, and this forces me push a review now.

P.P.S. This inferior version may be preferred if you want to take advantage of the unbalanced aspect of the game.

After more than ten years of waiting, the follow-up to one of the most successful and well-known crossover gaming franchises at last arrives. Marvel VS. Capcom 3 breaks into the scene facing a great deal of expectations and anticipation, and in most aspects it delivers, but unfortunately it falls just a bit short of being the spectacular game it could have been.

The gameplay and general mechanics are essentially a mishmash of those from both Marvel VS. Capcom 2 and Tatsunoko VS. Capcom. You're given three characters and a series of four core buttons to work with, those being Light, Medium, Heavy and Special attacks. This closely resembles the setup of TVC, simplifying things a bit from the punch and kick commands of MVC; a wise move, given that it generally trims the fat of the previous game's complexity.

The Assists, Hyper Combos, crossovers and many other advanced tactics all return, but there are a handful of new alterations and quirks. For one, unlike TVC, there is no Mega Crash (although it is possible to break away from certain long combos) or Baroque; instead, there's the X Factor, a completely new tactic that may only be used once per match. X Factoring allows each of your characters a brief speed and power boost, along with gradual health recovery. These effects are strengthened depending on how many of your 3 characters are remaining (it is at its maximum if you only have one character left). This occasionally adds an interesting element to the gameplay, but many have argued that it's an unnecessary feature which can unfairly turn the tide of a fight, and there is definitely some validity to this complaint. Adding to the imbalance of this is the fact that different characters receive different boosts, leading to some characters gaining ridiculous power boosts while others don't really become much more of a threat.

Switching out, or swapping characters, is unfortunately now a sorely obnoxious task, requiring the player to press and hold the Partner button until their other character appears; mistakenly tapping the button will cause a crossover Assist, and as many veteran players know, initiating an Assist when you're intending to switch out can cost you a character, or worse, a match. Needless to say, this can take a bit of getting used to, particularly for those accustomed to the simple back+/Partner command that came before.

`Simple mode' from TVC also returns, allowing a significantly simplified control scheme in which special moves and Hyper Combos can be more easily initiated. This may sound unappealing or unfair to those more willing to adjust to the traditional controls, but simple mode also disallows certain attacks and abilities, so it's more of a tradeoff than a wholehearted handicap; it's ultimately a more accessible and user-friendly version of the control scheme.

The roster has been among the most debated-over aspects of the game; MVC2 had a whopping 56 characters to choose from, while so far MVC3 only offers 36. Granted, unlike MVC2, you'll find no recycled sprites here; each and every character is brought to vivid new life and design. Many staples and favorites return, so fans of Ryu, Wolverine, Morrigan, Storm, and many others won't be complaining. Devil May Cry's Dante and X-Men's Deadpool are among some of the exciting new additions, while a surprising number of more obscure fan favorites also managed to make the cut. Some of the exclusions are rather upsetting, however, particularly the lack of Venom, certain X-Men characters and most shocking of all, Capcom's flagship character Mega Man. There's more downloadable content to come, however, so we'll have to see what the game's future has to offer.

Some of the game's modes and single-player options are more disappointing than others; the online mode is overall pretty satisfying so far, allowing players to either log on for a quick match with a random player or friend, or join a lobby of several players in a sort of informal tournament system. Players can `friend' opponents they'd like to play again and even speak to one another through console-compatible microphones. Lag is generally minimal or non-existent, and thankfully you'll be forewarned of the connection strength in the lobbies before joining. There are also of course leaderboards and rankings for the best of the best, but you can only gain ranks through random Quick Matches, and sadly there's no spectator option; this is particularly frustrating when you're waiting around for your next match in the lobbies.

The single-player modes aren't quite as satisfying. MVC3 has a rather standard Arcade mode which features nothing but a series of random battles followed by a boss fight and usually anticlimactic ending sequence which differs by character but is merely a brief series of still pictures and text. The end-game credits are nice the first time you watch them, but they're the same regardless of which character you win with, and therefore aren't nearly as interesting the second, third or fourth time around. Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary wasn't what a lot of people were hoping for, but it was more engaging than what's offered here. Although the Arcade mode serves its generic purpose, a few more cutscenes or character-specific individuality would've made it really worthwhile.

MVC3's biggest asset is it succeeds in a few of the key areas where both TVC and MVC2 failed. TVC offered an overly simplified control option which occasionally allowed for disproportionate advantages, and yet was oftentimes preferable to the needlessly complex alternative. MVC3 manages to find a healthy balance between MVC2's ice-cold complexity and TVC's desperate attempt at accessibility; both regular and simple mode in MVC3 are useable without being cheaply advantageous or impossible to understand. Although deeply advanced tactics will be reserved for deeply skilled players, as they always have been, most players will gain a deeper understanding of the control schemes offered here more quickly than they would have in MVC2.

Unfortunately, as expected, opportunities to be cheap present themselves in MVC3 just as they do in most fighting games. Thankfully only a small handful of the characters seem genuinely broken or overpowered, but the ones that are can be truly frustrating to go up against; both Sentinel and Iron Man can fill the screen with enormous and heavily damaging beams and projectiles, while Phoenix becomes virtually impossible to approach, let alone defeat, once she transforms into Dark Phoenix. Ryu spammers are also expectedly back in action, but thankfully so far it doesn't seem quite as common as it was in TVC.

The game has a visual style that is distinctly American and heavily influenced by comic books; as where MVC2's artwork and aesthetics felt more authentically Japanese, this game comes off as though it belongs a little more to Marvel than it does to Capcom. This works both for and against it; most of the Marvel characters look amazing, and several of the Capcom ones do as well, although the heavy Americanization of the likes of Tron Bonne and Morrigan can come off as a bit wonky at first. Aside from that, however, the visuals are vivid and gorgeous; one thing you'll never be bored with is what goes on onscreen during matches.

Although the complaints may have seemed heavy, MVC3 is in fact a very entertaining and visually appealing game; the online mode is extremely fun and engaging, and some of the downloadable content to come, namely the new characters and complete costume revamps, seem very promising. Tuning up the roster and 1-player mode-adding more modes in general, for that matter-would have really made it nothing short of excellent, but here's hoping they really take popular demand into consideration for DLC.

**WAIT FOR THE ULTIMATE EDITION WHICH IS HERE: Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

The new heroes are here to kick butt and take names, and after a decade of wondering if this game would ever come into being, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is finally here. If you've never played the series before, let me just inform you this is not your typical fighting game. This is more of an action fighting game, in the sense that the first few matches are going to be chaotic looking. There's characters popping in and out of the screen. There's combos popping up all over the screen. Before you know it, you're dead without even getting a hit in. But with much practice comes great benefits.

Your first choices in the game will be to take it offline in arcade mode or training, or take a chance in online battles via ranked or player matches. Offline modes are limited to arcade, training, versus, and a mission mode. Arcade is just the basic story mode. You'll pick three characters to battle, all with different abilities to battle round after round until you defeat a special boss. When you beat the final boss, you'll unlock a comic strip ending for the character that you were last using. You'll also unlock some badges and titles for your win to show off online. If you're having a difficult time learning moves, training mode is there to help. However, mission mode is going to be more helpful in teaching you how to successfully complete moves. Mission mode is more reminiscent of the challenge modes in Super Street Fighter IV. You have a training dummy in front of you, and you're mission is to provide a certain attack to it.

Online modes are limited to ranked and player matches. I don't really find this to be a bad thing, but it's apparent some people wanted more modes. You can party up online much like a "quarter mode", which is great, and it's also the downfall of online play. While you're the observer, you never get to watch the battle. You're treated to two player cards of the fighters with the health bars moving up and down during their match. But you'll never get to see the moves they're pulling off, making tournaments seem almost pointless. There's also no replay feature, so watching some of the cool moves you distributed to a player is long gone. Hopefully Capcom will reintroduce this in a patch in the future, without a DLC cost.

Everything in a match is fast moving and player momentum is natural in a game like this. You want to keep moving, providing damage, and repeat. In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and while the animations have been slowed down they compliment the game atmosphere nicely.

One way Marvel vs. Capcom designers have tried to help remove the anxiety new gamers feel during their first match is by introducing a new mode: Simple mode, or button mashing mode if you prefer. It gives high hopes for beginners to be able to win a match. With this mode enabled, you literally can just press the same button over and over while moving the stick around to pull off sweet moves. By using simple mode, even the most novice player may have a chance at winning. While simple mode may be good for grandmas and tottlers, it is going to limit the amount of special moves a player can use. It enables easy access to simpler moves, and that's it. Now, this doesn't mean that in simple mode, you're not going to need any skill at all. You'll probably want to focus on blocks to get you ready for the real fighting of the game: the online modes.

Another huge change is the inclusion of X-Factor. This mode enables to you increase your attack power and speed for a limited time, depending on how many characters are still alive in your party. It also resets your animation, giving you access to chain more moves together that would be impossible otherwise. It sounds like a gimmick move, but in the game, it's been quit helpful and I haven't experienced it being overused.

Graphically, this game is well done too. The game feels much like a comic book opening up in front of you. The dark shadows look amazing, and can't simple be justified to how amazing they look in screen shots. The animations are smooth, and you'll rarely see a hick-up in the game. The backgrounds are slightly muted to bring the characters forward a little bit. It almost looks like you're playing a 2D fighting game at times, which isn't a bad thing. They just mastered how well to do the visuals in a sense that it looks old school, yet 3D at the same time.

Let's talk roster for a minute. There's 36 characters to choose from, half from Marvel Comics, and the others from Capcom games. This is a lot less than the roster of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but is that a bad thing? Marvel vs. Capcom 2, while a terrific fighting game, had some huge holes in the balancing because of so many characters. Most of the time, the balancing wasn't from over-powered fighters as much as under powered characters. So Capcom decided to keep the roster a little smaller while fine-tuning each character with pros and cons. This is obviously a good thing, but coming from Capcom, this might have been a way to milk a little more money out of the game. We can expect some DLC to come out shortly after (March has two new characters and a costume pack scheduled for release). What worries me is how much this stuff is going to cost. Capcom knows people will buy it up, so are they going to charge the extra mile because they know this?

However, even though I'm not a fan of overpriced DLC, Capcom is at least listening to the fans on the DLC they want. On Capcom Utility's website, you can actually vote for characters you want to see in the game (hint: Gambit needs to come back, so vote!). I find this to be really neat and I hope they truly listen to their fans. If anything needs DLC fast in the game, I feel they need to add some more maps. The maps are awesome that are already in the game, but there's hardly any to really look at. I wouldn't even mind some recycled maps from the previous installments of the game.

The only other complaint I have is the controls on a standard controller. They work, but they never feel comfortable. The game begs for a fight stick of some sort. I haven't played on the Xbox 360's D-pad yet, but I can imagine it being atrocious given that the 360's D-pad isn't exactly the most impressive on the market.

If anything, the game is going to hold it's own for a while but it will probably not be in the ranks of classic like it's predecessor. It's all a matter of time to how well this game will rank in the end. With DLC coming out, one can hope that Capcom listens to their fans and keeps the community strong.

+ Great character list with balance issues in check

+ Outstanding graphics and sounds.

Being nerfed online by Iron Man. Over. And over. And over...

No replay modes.

Alright, I'm going to start right off by explaining how come I give this game 4 out of 5 stars. The reason is simple: character choices. It's not that there aren't enough characters to choose from, cause there are (however Capcom has had years to develop this game and easily could have included more), however its the fact that some of the characters that "made the cut" are just plain...weird. M.O.D.O.K? Seriously? Was there really a NEED to put him into the game? Taskmaster? I don't recall people lining up begging to have him as an addition to this widely anticipated release. However, despite some of the character selections currently available (omitting current and upcoming DLC characters of course), that's not what this game is all about, is it? No, it's about having FUN, and when it comes to having FUN, this game definitely delivers! The graphics are absolutely top-notch and the colors displayed on-screen are simply breath-taking. The online mode is pretty good as well, however I do have one minor complaint in that when you join a lobby (a type of mode that allows you to join with up to seven other players to fight against), you aren't allowed to watch the match that is taking place between two of the players within your lobby (if that makes sense). This is one of those cases where it would be much easier to see it than to explain it through text. However the bottom line with that is, you end up (sometimes) with a lot of idle time while waiting for a match to start (unless you enjoy staring at a dull screen until your time to fight commences). Each of the characters bring to the table their own unique fighting styles, some are more powerful, some are quicker, and some are ridiculously slow (a-hem...Arthur), however the developers at Capcom did a great job in balancing this all out (in my opinion).

Having said all that, I definitely am impressed by what this game has offered so far, and I look forward to what lies ahead as far as future DLC is concerned. So if you're "on the fence" about picking this one up, I'd say at the very least, at least rent it, and if it turns out to be something you'd enjoy, buy it! I'm sure glad I did! :)

This is an awesome, fast-paced action fighting game. If you buy it expecting a slow fighting game style like street fighter, you will be disappointed. But if you enjoy fast-paced, quick-thinking, fast-reaction type fighting games, this is your game to buy for this year.

I got my PS3 running again and was really happy with the shipping. The only "problem" that i had with this product is that it was advertised as NEW. It had scratches on the outside and it also was also dusty on the inside of the unit. Look, all it matters is that it is working and its a part that you cant see it anyways, so who cares. This headset rocks! I definitely took a chance on these despite not having seen any previous reviews or ratings, but it was worth it. I wanted to test it out for a few weeks before writing a review. Also, this is my first Sharkoon product.

Along with the headset itself, it includes

optical cable

"sound control unit" (your little magic black box where all cables run to)

adapters for PC (comes with 5.1 analog for those w/o pc optical), 360, ps3

detachable boom mic (it does flex to your preference)

power supply (single cord which splits off to power your SCU and headset separately) Ex.) you can still disconnect the power to the SCU and still have power running to the headset by itself. The power supply comes with swappable heads. I guess this is if you go out of the country and want to use their foreign outlets.

It took me a little bit of time to figure out all these adapters, settings, and wires (there are a lot of wires.)

The Sound Control Unit (SCU) is where your optical, power supply and 9-pin headset connector come together. You can also adjust the general volume here, but I usually just use the volume adjust attached the the headset cord. There is a 5.1 analog output as another option for those PC users without an optical option. With two 9-pin headset jacks, a second person with the same headset may also listen in. Two Dolby options include Dolby Digital and Pro Logic. There are two included settings called Time-Delay and Dynamic Range Control located on the SCU.

Both of these passages taken directly from the manual. Either setting can be turned on or off.

"Time-Delay The Time-Delay function allows to define a time delay for the sound reproduction for each speaker. Thus a spacious playback of the audio signal can be achieved. Note that increasing the delay too much may cause unnatural results."

"Dynamic Range Control Dynamic Range control limits the dynamic, decreasing the level differences between loud and quiet passages in the Dolby Digital 5.1 signal thus balancing the effect of loudness."

Other nice features include a volume adjuster which is attached the headset cord. The X-tatic logo on the headset AND also the attached volume adjuster light up. Looks good to me! The volume is indicated by the different colors lighted up on the volume adjuster ranging from green (very low) to red (very high). The sound volume from each speaker can also be adjusted individually. So say you're sniping and you want to hear even more of the sounds behind you. You can "up" the volume on the rear speakers to do just that. Or you might be looking to get more "boom" from your sounds. You can increase the bass volume while keeping the other speakers at their current volume.

There is a switch to turn off your voice. You can't hear your own voice while speaking, but I prefer it that way. Voice volume from other people can also be adjusted independently from game volume. So when I hear a lobby full of annoying kids, I lower the voice volume and just "up" my awesome game volume. Bliss.

Comfort 5/5 Took a night of gameplay to "break-in", so now it fits comfortably. Good padding so it sits well on your head. The ear cups can be tilted and also swivel to match your unique head shape (a BIG plus for me.) I can wear these 4-5 hours easy.

Sound 5/5 Amazing! Playing MW2 and GOW2 is a whole new experience now! Sounds I never knew existed in these games gave me a whole new appreciation! Distant gunfire, rustling of bushes and grass around me, and even slight downpour can be heard. With that said, the 5.1 directionality will add a whole new dimension to your gameplay. For me, there is a clear distinction between if gunfire is coming from front, rear, front left, rear right, etc. Footsteps come in loud and clear. This keeps me more aware of my surroundings. Hurray for situational awareness!

Price 4/5 It is quite the steep investment for me at $159.99, even with the free shipping from Amazon (love ya for that Amazon!) I did have to think twice before my purchase solely because the price. Now that I look back on it, it was the right move.

Overall, this headset definitely meets my expectations. It looks good and has some surprisingly cool features. Maybe if they could fix the amount of wires, but I guess that what it takes to work on the pc, 360, and ps3.

Good Hunting!

This isn't meant to be a very technical review, but I will share my opinion with hope that I can answer some questions that I had when reviewing these headphones.

I've been using these headphones mainly for PC and PS3 games. For those of you with intention of using these with an xbox 360, be warned you will need to purchase a specific xbox360 adapter for the optical audio (I would have tested MW2 already if I had the xbox360 connection). The PS3 has and most newer PC motherboards even have the optical audio connection. If you're really serious about having amazing PC audio, you might consider an aftermarket sound card ... but then again, if you ARE really serious, you'd be buying an ACTUAL 5.1 system and not just headphones.

These aren't meant for stereo sound and only do a mediocre job at best when just listening to music, unless you connect the 5.1 analog adapter and use the orange (center and sub channel), then it sounds better. I haven't compared these to any other gaming headset, but I have no complaints on the sound quality. You do have the ability to adjust the volume of the front, center, rear and sub channels which is very handy for getting the sound just right. You can go further and adjust other settings, but I haven't tinkered with that.

These headphones are also very comfortable. Most of the weight is on top of your head and not on or over your ears which greatly reduces ear fatigue. I have used them for 3+ hours with little discomfort!

Take note that these are in no way noise canceling headphones. If you have the volume down low, you will be able to hear what's going on around you, and those around you might hear what you are listening to if you've got the volume up very high. That's not a big problem though.

I've used the mic over Skype and in games such as SC2 and have had people comment on the good quality of the sound of my voice. It's nice that the mic is detachable, but honestly, it's never really in the way and I never detach it.

The headphones themselves glow green, quite brightly. This is a nice feature if you're trying to impress people with cool hardware, but it's annoying to have them sitting beside my bed on my desk at night when I'm trying to sleep -an acceptable annoyance.

The mess of cables isn't really an issue considering I already have a mess of cables on my desk where I have a PC, PS3 and Xbox360. If you are worried about the mess of cables, you might consider purchasing a longer optical cable as the supplied one is quite short (approx 2 feet). This way you can have the adapter and all the cables hidden somewhere. The cable from the headphone is very long, so don't worry about that.

One last note, this purchase was a shot in the dark. I had never heard of Sharkoon before and am quite pleased. I was debating over this and the TRITTON AXPRO and chose these. I don't regret my decision!

Buy Sharkoon X-Tatic True 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Gaming Headset Now

I ordered the Sharkoon Xtatic after quite a bit of online research. I was at first going to buy a surround sound system to play my PS3 with. After considering this and the fact that my roommate might not appreciate my midnight Call of Duty "boom sessions," I decided to check out surround sound headphones. These can range widely in price, and my budget was admittedly low.

After some browsing the web and reading lots of reviews, I came to the Sharkoon Xtatic. Not much was available online about it, as far as reviews go. I couldn't find many other 5.1 headset for the PS3, so I decided to take a gamble.

The verdict: I like my headset. It is a lot of fun to use and really immerses me in my first-person shooters, like Call of Duty. I also enjoy having the mic built in, as opposed to a standard 5.1 headphone set. However, I don't think the performance justifies the price tag. I feel like a stereo headset would be only a hint behind the Xtatic in performance, as the surround sound in the Xtatic is not very great. It does have a somewhat surround feel to it, but not what I had hoped for. If I could go back, I would have either paid more for a surround sound speaker set (and annoyed my roommate), or I would have paid less money for a nice stereo headset. I just don't think this headset performs well enough to justify the price. Also, I will add that the Sharkoon has quite a tangle of cables to connect in order for everything to work properly. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but for anyone obsessed with maintaining a clean, clutter free wire setup, I don't think you want this headset.

One more thing. I have noticed some nasty distortion when I play Guitar Hero World Tour. This tends to happen during the loading screen when the crowd is cheering. Haven't had any sound problems in CoD:MW, or MW2.

Astro? Turtle Beach? Tritton? I own many gaming headsets from these companies, including each of their flagship models. How do they fair against the $139 Sharkoon X-Tatic True?

In the interest of brevity:

Astro A40($250+): Although more comfortable, the Astro A40's do NOT come close in Sound or Build Quality. Winner: Sharkoon, by a long shot.

Turtle Beach PX5/XP500($213-$240+): Nothing shines with Turtle Beach PX5's/XP500's. Horrible even if they were to retail for $99. Winner: Sharkoon, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Tritton AX Pro($160+): Better than the Turtle Beach Brand, even though Mad Catz shall lead them to their doom. Build quality: FAIL. True 5.1 Implementation: Fail. Even though they are considered to be exactly the same as the Sharkoon X-Tatic True... they are not. Winner: Sharkoon, Superior Sound & Build Quality.

Funny right? The headset with the lowest cost DOMINATES it's competitors that cost $21-$111 more.

Build Quality: 5/5 Most solid of any of my 20+ headsets.

Comfort: 3.25/5 Heavy & In-Line amp could use a belt clip like my A40's have.

Mic: 4.5/5 Clear & Flexible but could be a bit longer

Incoming Chat(PS3): 4/5 Clear but volume is a bit too low

Sound: 4.75/5 Superior Sound Quality. #1 Gaming Headset.

Want Sharkoon X-Tatic True 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Gaming Headset Discount?

Well based on the reviews, I purchased these headsets and I've had them for two days and I'm very satisfied. My review is from the point of view of a PC user and not X-Box.

I have a set of Klipsh 2:1 Speakers and was considering a surround sound system, but the family is already complaining about my loud music and games. I figured a better alternative was to get a surround sound headset which I can play loud as I'd like. I mostly watch movies and Game a little. I researched up and down and found that these have 4 speakers per side and claim to provide true surround sound in a headset.

Below are my impressions:

1. I have a Soundblaster Fatality Titanium Sound Card. Maybe your results will be different with a different card but these speakers work well with this model. I tried running the headsets both through the box connected to my Digital out put and through the analog plugs and by-passing the box. There is an option to not use the little box and connect the headset directly to your PC using analog cables. I had to pull out the manual because the color coding on these cables are European and don't match the Sound-blaster Color Coding. But using both manuals I matched up the right cables. There was no improvement without the box on any type of listening and you didn't get the full Dolby effect on the digital type sounds. The digital optical output through the box is the only way to run these you need the box to interpret the sound and bring out the beauty of Digital sound. Blue-Ray Digital Discs sound fantastic with these headsets.

2. Be careful there is a setting on the box (Button) that turns on Pro Logic. If the sound source is not Dolby or Digital than it sounds like crap. I believe this is why a few people may have given these Headsets bad reviews. Their fault they had the Dolby Prologic on with the wrong source. By the way the base is very strong on these at normal settings with options to turn it up directly through the headset control.

3. Music, If you are buying these to play YouTube stuff, forget it. It sounds fine but it just isn't Bose or Sennheiser Quality. If You are an audiophile about music and getting it from non digital sources, get a digital splitter and/or a different headset. This speaker set excels with gaming and movies and with anything that is using Digital DTS or Digital Dolby 5:1 or surround sound effects. Blue Ray Disks are incredible. You tube stuff is very mediocre.

4. Netflix When I first turned on Netflix it sounded horrible than I unchecked Dolby, wham 100% turnaround. I believe that my Soundblaster EAX took over because the next thing you know

I was listening to Apocalypse Now and Bullets are sounding all over the place I was wowed by the excellent sound. These don't just simulate surround sound, they are surround sound. I confirmed this in another scene from Apocalypse Now. In this scene near the end Sheen is first talking to Brando. The camera is switching perspectives. The stuff happening from behind sounded from behind and the stuff in front to the front. It confirmed without a shadow of a doubt that these do more than just simulate surround sound. I heard sounds behind in front and to the sides!!

4. Games. I played Crysis and it was very immersive. I haven't played enough games on this to comment but I believe that it excels at gaming, I was getting the forwards backwards sideways sounds and to it was great.I think alot is going to depend on the game and how it's programmed. But digital games are going to sound awesome!!

5. Comfort. I don't know why but even though these are huge they aren't hot and sweaty. This is the first two sided enclosed headset that I've used where I wasn't sweating rivulets. I really can't figure why they are so comfortable. I wear glasses and have no problems.

So in conclusion, don't buy these for Non-Digital Music. Buy them for gaming and High Def Movies and you'll be a happy camper. Be careful not to use the Dolby button with non Dolby sources. Use a Digital Optical output along with the box.

Add on to original Review.

One of the complaints I've heard is that you can't turn these off. Actually you can, funny thing is that I picked this trick up in the reviews of a competitors Headset that's supposed to be similar to this one. If you push the Volume button and the "Front" buttons in at the same time the Headset will turn off. Kind of nifty because you'll never turn it off by accident and once you know the trick it's very simple.

I also felt that when I raised the volumes on the Box and used the volume of the headsets at lower volume that quality increased.

This game is great! Well worth the money. I always loved the YDKJ games (had every one on the PC).

The rest of this review is only for people who played it on the PC as only you will understand.

They did mess up a few things about the game from the PC version. I couldn't wait for this to come out on the PS3 for 2 reasons (1) Up to date content and (2) Individual controllers means 4 (instead of only 3) people can play and they don't have to huddle around a keyboard. They nailed #(1), but they changed the game in ways that I think take away from the fun of the PC version.

Here are the issues I see:

A. No buzzing in factor. Yes, you buzz in your answer, but EVERYONE gets to answer (or not, you still lose points for a wrong answer, so you may not want to answer at all). So there is no need to make a quick decision if you want to buzz in or not. In the original game, only the 1st person who buzzed in would get to answer and then if they were wrong, someone else could try and so on. Like Jeopardy. (gee, I wonder if the Jeopardy formula is time tested and solid???). In this new YDKJ, all 4 people buzz in their answer (with no indication on the screen so you can't copy off of others (that's a good feature)). You get 30 seconds to answer, so once again, it completely removes that "I'm not sure if I know the answer to this but I better buzz in before someone else does" factor. You can now carefully read the question and decide if you want to answer or not. I never saw YDKJ as a triva game as much as it is a Game Show simulation. Basically, what I am saying here is that they replaced the need for quick reflexes and decision making with the ability to think more clearly about the question before answering.

B. No REAL screw factor. The difference from (A) above makes Screwing another contestant MUCH less useful or fun. In the old game, you would see (from no one buzzing in) that no one was probably going to answer. Then you pick the screw and pick a "victim". Forcing the other player to answer when they don't want to is the thing. In the new version, you don't really know if the other players are planning on answering or not, since they have 30 seconds to decide what their answer is. In other words, what is the point of forcing someone to answer a question that they were going to answer anyway?

C. 7 or 21. The old version gave you a choice of a 7 question or 21 question game. We always did 21, so the new 11 question version is not working as well for us.

D. No Gibberish question. This is the only one that I understand. It would have been hard to quickly type in the answer without a real keyboard. I still miss the feature.

E. Multi-player DIS or DAT is not REALLY multi-player. DIS or DAT was always the least fair thing about the original YDKJ because it would basically let the person who selected the category for that question, do the DIS or DAT. So now they advertise mutliplayer DIS or DAT and have a chance to fix that inconsistancy, but instead, it is only that if the person selected for DIS or DAT gets one wrong, others can steal it. Why not just let everyone play equally and get the points they earn? What did the player do to earn the right to do DIS or DAT anyway?

F. Pre-determined questions. What I mean by this is that the "episodes" as they call them are all exactly the same. When you play episode 1, it is always the same questions. You get to pick the episode so that you can make sure you are playing a fresh one, but the old way which just randomly arranged questions was much better. Sure, there would be times where there was a question or two that you had seen before, but it felt more realistic that way instead of these totally identical games. I think there are only 73 episodes. I can burn thru those (especially with 11 question games) with 2 nights of playing with friends. Maybe the download feature will help with that.

OK, so you may think I hate this game. I do not. YDKJ is such an awesome game that I still think it is well worth buying. That's why I gave it 5 stars.

Here are some good things about this version:

A. Individual controllers AWESOME. But that's really the PS3's doing.

B. Wrong Answer of the day this is very cool. It is funny and gives someone a pretty decent reward for getting a wrong answer. Very in line with the YDKJ francise.

C. Graphics are great.

D. Still the same sarcastic, funny bantor that really gives you the feel of some kind of production going on.

E. Up to date content.

Hopefully, they will put out new content at a regular pace and provide more specialized versions like they had on the PC (Sports, Movies, TV, etc.)

I added this weeks after the original review. There is ONE thing about buzzing in quickly which is that you get more points the quicker you buzz in, but it is not enough of a factor to give you that anxiety of rushing.

ALSO, and this one may only affect some people. The game has 73 episodes, but they only unlock 5 at a time. IF you play it on other peoples systems, you may have a hard time playing an episode that you haven't already played. Simple explaination is this. Let's say the same 4 friends like to play this game and they gather at two different houses (diff PS3s) on a regular basis. On the first night they play 10 episodes, then on the next night they are at the other house. The game will only let you play the first 5 episodes, even though you know all the answers already. And yes, I did look for an unlock code and no one has one. I do have a crappy solution for those who care. You can start a game with one player and it will play all the way thru without any intervention. This way the system thinks you played it and will unlock another game. You can turn the TV to another input or at least turn down the sound so you don't have to listen the games you played already. It takes about 15 minutes to burn thru an episode. Of course, it requires pre-planning. If you haven't done this already and you are ready to play, oh well..........

***Updated 7/7/2011 update marked below***

I bought this after having last played You Don't Know Jack ("YDKJ") on the computer with my girlfriend way back in 1997 it was on a Gold Box sale here so I picked it up for about $17. I always liked and still do how it feels like a game show.

As a "head's-up" to parents out there, I would say enough of the innuendo and language makes this game more geared towards late teens and adults this probably is not too appropriate of a game for children to play, in other words.

With about 72 or so total different games if you're playing it by yourself non-stop I'd imagine it doesn't take very long to play out the entire game.

It's fun, it's irritating, it's unique, it's repetitive. It is a fast-paced trivia game still, where the type of answers you have to come up with are of varying types (where you have to think from the perspective of the opposite of the obvious answer, or just have to know obscure answers, or be able to figure out word association quickly).

The first two rounds are multiple choice. In one of them you get a "Dis or Dat" where you choose whether a word is associated with one of two possible answers, or both sometimes. The final round is word association, where you have to quickly choose what is the correct word associated with another base word.

This is a very fun game with at least one other person sitting next to you, and preferably a group of people who all have controllers. You can "screw" your opponent(s) once in each game by forcing them to answer the question in 5 seconds. If they get it wrong they lose money and you still have a chance to swipe the answer.

I didn't like how easy it was to see-saw the scores it's good that a person isn't completely out of the game at any point, but the ability to fluctuate scores was too much. Example: in the final, word association round my friend happened to be terrible at it and I happened to be good. So he'd be killing me in the first two rounds but we both knew it didn't matter since I'd clean up in the final round and win the game because of it.

I also found the videos to be repetitive and irritating, though that's just the nature of YDKJ to be slightly irritating. I did like how the game was really up-to-date. It's a quick buzzkill to play a trivia game where "current events" ask questions from years ago.

***Update***

I have found since I first wrote my thoughts on YDKJ that there IS downloadable content you can purchase. For $4.99 each you can download four sets of 10 additional games to your PS3 from the PS Store online. Because of how fast games can go and the mechanics, it still can be lopsided for players with that final round and you can burn through the games quickly the fewer players you have, but I'm changing it to 4 stars since you can purchase additional games for a relatively inexpensive price, plus the game itself is now available for under $30 regularly priced, it appears.

***Original comment/end of my review***

I think the game could have great potential with downloadable content. For example I think it would be great if for a small price (like $5.99) one could download "category-specific" add-on games, like sports or history. I would not buy a new game with each category, but I'd pay a small price for downloading it. Profit for the creators, fun for me.

Smallish thing but still a little irritating: every time you turn the game on fresh after being turned off, then you have to remember to go to manually choose a game and find the next one on your list you haven't completed since otherwise it will always start you at the first game which you've already beaten.

Random note: this is a good drinking game.

Bottom-line: this game is addicting and fun enough with a group or even just one other friend it seems designed indeed for more than just one person. But with a limited number of total games (which probably could last awhile if you don't play unless there are people over) and its simplicity this would be a stretch to pay any more than about $30 for.

I love playing this game! It's hard to stop after one game, so we played six last night! The trivia questions are fun, slightly punny, and really are creative. The writers and developers for You Don't Know Jack are really creative; while I was playing it I was entertained with humor and challenged with facts.

I highly recommend this game to anybody (NOT KIDS!)-ok any adult -that wants to play a game, be amused and entertained all at one time. How fun!

I had this game when I was growing up. Back then it was a computer game and everyone had to sit near the computer keyboard in order to buzz in with your assigned keyboard letter. It was so much fun to all be there trying to buzz in first. The game is still so fun and I love the commentary.

Jack took a decade off to relax and came back better (and funnier) than ever before! As always with this irreverent trivia party game, playing with friends is an absolute blast. It's also nice how the game goes through all available games before repeating a single game or question. Very refreshing to finally get a trivia game that doesn't ask you the same questions after 2 or 3 plays. My only complaint -and it's not a fault of the game, but a fault of the game not selling as well as a Call of Duty or Killzone -is the difficulty in finding a multiplayer game online. When online multiplayer works, it works well. But as often as not, I have ended up waiting in an empty lobby for 15 or 20 minutes before finally giving up and trying again later (also, a "couch mode" would have been nice, allowing teams to compete against one another online). But offline? Whenever we have friends over, this is now our "go to" game. With new question packs being released, Jack should be around for quite a while! Definitively worth a purchase.

My review simply covers the Collector's Edition of Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

This edition was carried by GameStop stores. When I wandered in to pick up my copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the guy behind the counter suggested I get the Collector's Edition.

Me: "Why shouldn't I just get the regular version?"

Store employee: "There's an extra DVD with hidden codes, and you get to see how the game was made!"

With that endorsement, I shelled out my extra ten bucks.

On the DVD, I saw a number of gaming developers. They discussed certain improvements, the advantages of the Playstation 3's storage capacity for graphics compression, and their staunch refusal to make the game easier than the Ninja Gaiden Black version on the Xbox. I loved the visit to the Asakusa Temple in Tokyo, though this only lasted about 2 minutes. I couldn't wait to see behind the scenes of how the game itself was made.

Unfortunately, almost halfway through the DVD, one developer, Hayashi-San, pretty much said that Team Ninja isn't the type of company to show exactly how a game is made...they prefer to not do this because "that could be an excuse as to why the game isn't the way it should be."

Okay....so this TOTALLY contradicted what I was told.

The majority of the DVD is spent watching various members of Team Ninja talking in vague terms about the future, going to karaoke bars, playing electric guitars, that kind of thing. I felt like I got duped into watching an episode of "The Real World" set in Japan!

So what about the secret codes?

Well, there is a hidden code (not codes) hidden throughout the DVD, which can be used to unlock a few hidden missions in the game.

Now, The Ninja Gaiden Black version has more costumes and allows the player to access the original Ninja Gaiden game. I would have expected this content to be included in the Collector's Edition, but alas, it was still absent.

So what did I really got out of this "Collector's Edition"? A code which I could have found on the internet for free.

Let the buyer beware!

I'm not sure if this is a review of amazon's service or the actual game, but I will give a brief summary of both. The service was awesome! Product arrived on time was in the exact condition the seller had described. The original remake of Ninja Gaiden came out in 2003 followed shortly by the Hurricane packs that served as downloadable mission modes to feed those wanting more intense Ninja action. Ninja Gaiden Black was soon released in 2004 and was the ultimate version of Ninja Gaiden on the xbox (These dates may not be correct). In 2007 Team Ninja released Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PS3, and having played it before I purchased a copy from amazon and again after I received it, I will say with confidence that NGS for the PS3 is the Ultimate version of Ninja Gaiden and one of,if not, the best action games of all time. To check out what Ninja Gaiden Sigma is all about head over to youtube and check out gameplay videos; in the meantime, look forward to the release of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 later this year.

These folks at MyGift rock. Simple as that. The skin, while a LITTLE tricky to apply, is still easier to apply than a thousand other similar products I have tried. This is thanks mainly to the fact that, while a very good adhesive, it allows you to peal off and reapply without leaving a residue or losing its grip. It looks VERY sharp and have gotten endless compliments about it, as well as the two controller skins I bought. It adds a level of customization that allows your PS3 to truly be yours and the quality as well as MyGift themselves is going to have me come back for more in the future.

On a side note, two extremely MINOR issues that should be addressed:

One, The skin comes in three parts, the main body and two strips for the two front sections. If you ever plan to use your PS3's power-off and eject buttons then either expect to have to peal back the one strip to have it register or buy a skin that doesn't lose anything by leaving off that strip. Due to the skin, the console won't know you are pressing anything otherwise.

Two, do not expect this skin to withstand alot of abuse. It is really good, no doubt about it. However, I transport my PS3 alot and as a result some of the corners are starting to pull away. Nothing major, just don't expect this to withstand a lot of transport.

If you can afford it, get yourself a skin. Better yet, get a couple.....you won't regret it.
