Normally, these things are like $450 $500. So, when I seen it for $250 I jumped on it. I've own the larger competitor version by Gaem (Another great buy). However, this one has a considerably small screen. That case was huge, with a large screen...but that's not what I needed. I needed something that could fit in my backpack. Being the same size as the slim, it certainly does. Picture great, the sound without head phone is loud and only the slightest little speaker distortion. Most probably use headphones; so, that's okay. With the headphones the sound was great. Hold up to Hori's high quality, very steady and seems long lasting. The best thing is how it just slides on the system, easy on easy off. The only problem I have with it is, when playing for a few hours, my eyes started to hurt a little.

I love it a lot. It nice and portable and you can carry it around anywhere you go. I give this 5 stars because of how great it is

Offers a great portable solution for your PS3 Slim without adding much to its original form factor.

You can carry the system and all your essentials in one of the larger Targus model laptop bags or a backpack.

The Screen is 720p and really good, it features customization options in the menu so you can adjust it to your liking.

This product won't obviously replace your current set-up and it's a very niche product for those that need the portability and/or the small form factor.

In my case I needed both and even then I did find it a bit pricey, but the product didn't disappoint in the end.

Best portable screen I have ever owned, def worth the price tag, it works great on call of duty, nba 2K13. It's really not that small unless u play some games in split screen, I didn't even had problem play FIFA 14 on it, I'm loving this product so I m sure u will be the same.

Heres a little history for you...

I ordered a G155 in the past, and i was very disapointed both in the product quality and in the company's technical support service. That unit had issues with the screen view distance. It was impossible to adjust the view distance correctly. If you viewed it from higher than perfect alignment or lower than perfect alignment, the screen glared up like crazy on the G155, the competing PS3 portable screen unit to this. Furthermore it had water damage which the company was claiming was "fine" because "it had to do with the typhoon in japan, damaging their units" and all they offered was to send it to amazon for a refund, and they wouldnt honor a return from their actual company and said its my problem with amazon. I actually did exchange it, and i had the same issue. they don't respond to emails in a timely manner and don't seem to really care either.

Fast forward to later, i bought this hori screen. right out of the box theres no damage whatsoever, no defects, the viewing angles are great no matter if you are a bit below or a bit higher than the perfect viewing distance. the graphics reach 1080p, not so the case with the g155 which only reached 720p WITH all of the glare issues ontop of it. The G155s screen quality overall was much inferior. overall for around the same price, this is a MUCH better buy than the G155 and i wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to get the closest you can to a portable Playstation 3.

I want to add that no--this will NOT work with the PS3 super slim, or the PS3 fat. it is designed ONLY for the Playstation 3 Slim. theres no chance it will fit anything else as a mounted display, so the only downside is it is fairly proprietary. It will work with other products it just wont mount to anything. However dispite this, it is the best portable screen out there for the PS3 Slim unit in my opinion. 5 stars for Hori.

Just a quick overview for those looking into buying the Slimer Edition versus the regular edition. This is a review of this particular edition and what it contains, and NOT a review of the game, which is pretty spectacular.

Quick background -I've been a huge Ghostbusters fan every since I first saw the movie when I was quite young. I loved it ever since, and have collected some neat stuff from the series. When the Slimer Edition was announced, I said what the heck and canceled my GameStop pre-order and bought one of these

So, here's the dirt. Amazon has been a little cagey about how this would all come, and I now know why...

The Ectomobile light thing is nice looking. It is a little cheaper looking than the Johnny Rocket cars, but it has a lot of detail and a nice little box.

Unfortunately, it is the only addition I don't have some sort of issue with.

The Gamer Graffix Skinz isn't so much a console skin but instead it is simply a big sheet of poofy stickers. It's got the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer on it with the firehouse symbol, but the only console it would fit on would be the PS3, and it would look ridiculous. I mean, I wasn't looking much forward to this part of the package anyway, and it still came up short. I was expecting to make the console into the look of the firehouse or something, but nope. Four poofy stickers.

Next up, the Slimer Bust. It's cool. Actually, it's really cool. The complaint about Slimer being a little too see-through stands, but it definitely looks like Slimer direct from the movies. However, Amazon stated that you would receive with this a "certificate of authenticity signed by the sculptor himself." I thought this was really neat, and was very excited to get it. So, when I pulled out the cards and found out that it was a copy of the artist's signature, I couldn't help but be disappointed. Amazon -don't tell us it will really be signed if it isn't. If it had been called a 'Certificate of Authenticity' and didn't mention it being signed, I wouldn't be disappointed. Thanks to that, I'm disappointed.

And speaking of failure, the biggest thing -Amazon has been advertising the packaging for the game to be different. Hell, I was literally thinking about buying all three of the Slimer versions to hold onto them as investments. Thank god I didn't -The game IS THE NORMAL VERSION. The slip cover shown on here?

It's false advertising. Yes, I know when you click on the graphic, it says that it doesn't necessarily represent the final look, but the final look was THE NORMAL GAME. Seriously? I outlaid an extra $50 at least in part because I wanted some different and exclusive artwork. Maybe that's lame, but it's true. And to have IDENTICAL artwork to the regular release? Amazon -just advertise it as what it is -Buy Ghostbusters and get more crap with it.

This is NOT a Slimer Edition. It's the game with some cool extras.

Having said that, the game is great and the extras if you are a Ghostbusters fan are well worth it. But if you're thinking of buying this as a video game collector looking for a rare version of a game in the future, don't bother.

So the game costs around 60 bucks, and if you are reading this is because you opted (like me) to buy the slimer edition.

I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS with the game... if you are a fan you will enjoy this game.

As for the "extras" that 50 bucks buy you, again, if you are a fan you are going to be pleased. What REALLY bothers me is amazon's poor description of this "special edition"

1.After reading the description youd think that it includes an ORIGINAL certificate of authenticity signed by Steve Johnson himself.... You do get one, but its a copy... its not an original certificate of authenticity.

(When I bought the slimer edition I thought Id frame slimer's bust with the certificate thinking it would be an original, but not)

2.When I preordered I thought that the GAME ITSELF would be a special edition (the cover of the game). Amazon put an original game copy and sent me to my email the "Special Edition Label" for me to print and insert on my game copy......... I mean, seriously.... have you ever heard of this before?

The PDF they send you EVEN COMES WITH A LAME WATERMARK that says "This image does not reflect the final package"

I mean, come on!

I contacted Amazon's customer service and they offered me a refund... I dont want a refund, I want a Special edition of the game!....

Im still keeping it, but amazon should consider updating the info on this game description

If you are a Ghostbusters fan you are sure to like this game. It's very fun and just like the movie in every aspect but is fairly easy to beat. My six-year-old Son was able to beat the game on medium difficulty in about a week. He still loves playing the game and is now playing it again on the hardest level. You can play single player or multi-player online where you play for and accumulate points and unlock different weapons and upgrades. There is only one problem that I see with the game. It freezes up a lot during sections of the game that have a lot of action. It gets really annoying after a while because it happens so frequently.

The only thing that sets this apart from the ordinary game is the slimer edition extras. It is advertised as having them and I recieved it without. This made it a complete waste of time and money, thanks amazon. When I went to ask about the items not recieved, I was directed to the refund only page so I now have to waste more time to find the correct game that is complete. The advertising of this product needs to be modified to GAME ONLY and LOSE THE EXTRAS ADVERTISED ON THE PAGE!!!!!

Wait is That a 80's song I just quoted? why yes I did. NYC favorite paranormal exteriminators are back and have hit the video game console world now I know the game has been out for close to a year now but this game is great I'm still trying to get my platinum trophy still to this day. average rating for the game is 4 out of 5 9 out of 10 92% of 100% so that's a sign this game Rocks graphics are crisp and smooth no anti aliasing problems which plagues most third person type game very tight and responsive controls everything and everything can be destroyed don't like the look of that dining table blast away with the proton pack spell your name on the wall go right ahead but there's a catch implemented into the game is a damages and destruction counter the more ya blast away the more money is tallied up and where you are given a final grade at then end of each mission keep the damages to a minimum and you'll get a high score.it brings a form of balance to the game forcing you to strategize with your AI controlled members of your team instaed of just goign all out and blasting away there are times when the counter can be off sometimes one instance I remember shootimg a chair 60$ in destruction later on shot the same looking chair 535$ in damages? (must have been an antique) there's a trophy where your objective is to get damages below two hundred thousand try attempting that on the professional setting anyway the single player game is great as is the multiplayer the cast all lent their voice talent for the game minus Rick moranis and Annie potts a good game to have for any true Ghostbuster fan and video gamer ah remember the 80's what a decade.

This review is for the Rage "Anarchy Edition" Version for the PS3.

I've been a Big Fan of ID Software since the early days of Wolfenstein and Doom Franchises, My favorite being Doom3. Their games have always been fun, engaging, exciting, and at the same time a little terrifying which gives you even more of a thrill. This is ID's First New Title Since either Doom or Quake franchises along with sporting ID's new Game Engine ID Tech 5 and released under ID's new Publisher and Owner Bethesda.

Background: The Best way I can describe the game visually is if this game was made into a movie it would look and feel like Mad Max: The Road Warrior with the characters and FPS Feel of the Doom 3 Video Game. The games mechanics and interaction feels like and updated version of a Computer Game that I used to play as a teenager back in the Mid 1980's for the Commodore 64 called AutoDuel (This was also released on the Apple II, Atari 400/800 as well). In the game you play as a post apocalypse character that goes from town to town in a Modified Post Apocalypse vehicle (Similar to Rage) to undertake missions, Races, Gambling and so forth. With the money you earn you can upgrade your vehicle or weapons and sell items back that you may not need. Of course the game did not have the FPS aspect to it but their are a lot of similarities to the other aspects that I mentioned between AutoDuel and RAGE.

Plot: In the year 2029 the asteroid 99942 Apophis impacts the earth and wipes out most of humanity (This is an actual asteroid that at one time in 2004 had been predicted to hit the Earth in 2029 but after scientist had gathered more data it is now has been predicted to miss the earth instead, do a Wikipedia Search for "99942 Apophis" for more information). However before the Asteroid impacted the earth The World Leaders decided to create several underground safe havens called "Arks" so after the impact the people that had been in Frozen Stasis would be able to re-build the earth. 106 years later your character awakes from his stasis tube to find that everybody in his Ark has died (Except himself) and the characters particular Ark was heavily damaged which caused the Computers monitoring the Ark stasis tubes to subsequently malfunction with the exception of your charters (Their is no explanation why other than the obvious it was most likely damaged by the asteroid's impact), On top of that due most likely to the malfunctioning stasis units your character has no memory of who he is and what his objectives are. So Now wondering out of the damaged Ark the Survivor attempts to get his bearing until attacked by the new Residents of the Area, The Survivor is summarily saved by a passersby heading back to his settlement by the name of Dan Hagar (Voiced by John Goodman). On the way back to his settlement Dan explains how after the impact had world has basically turned into a post apocalyptic world in which humanity has been dived up into different territories and the most technically advanced of them being the "Authority".

Game-play: As mentioned earlier the game play is for the most part a First Person Shooter (FPS) with Third Person aspect on the Driving Mechanics of the Game. You will start off on small nearby missions in which you will earn weapons, money and most importantly reputation with the more missions you complete. Once you have obtained your own vehicle you will begin exploring the other settlements outside Dan's territory. Along the way you will get to gamble, Enter into Races, Be a contestant on a Thunderdome like reality TV Series called Mutant Bash TV and take on side jobs. You will be able to upgrade your vehicle's parts with "Racing Certificates" won in either Races or on the Bounty of the Bandits you take out for the towns local Bar owners (Why you can not use cash to upgrade your vehicle parts is beyond me).Ultimately your adventures will lead to the confrontation with the games antagonist called the Authority.

Plus Side of the Game: There are tons of cool things about the game I do not know where to begin with.

The ID Tech 5 game engine is awesome, a vast improvement over the ID Tech 4 engine with the characters being very life like. The Graphics overall are just breath taking. The AI's are a lot more interactive and when facing them in combat are a lot smarter than I had played in previous games.

Great Choice of Weapons that can be either found, brought, or even modified.

I love the racing aspect in the game. If you like running into things and causing damage with your car this is the game to do it with.

Minus Side of the Game: There is just one big problem I have with the game and surprisingly enough it not with the game play itself, that is the lack of continuous auto saving.

The Auto Archiving feature on this game will only kick in once a chapter (If your lucky). While it does have a Manuel save option it can be very time consuming to stop playing, go into the menu, and wait about 30 to 60 seconds for the game to "save". So if you forget to Manually save at a certain point in your progress if you die without saving manually you can conceivably start back at almost the beginning of the chapter (This is why I primarily gave the game a 4 instead of a 5).

On the minor side the game tends to have long loads times between going to the next chapter.

The Slight on the game itself is that even through it is theoretically "Open Ended" , The game still controls certain aspects on what you can backtrack and explore on your own.

Special Note: Before accepting the final mission in the RAGE Campaign which is the attack on Capital Prime to upload the awake codes of the other Arks, insure you have completed any side missions, Jobs, Races, or trophies. Once you accept the mission when you have completed the level you will see the story end and the Game Credits after which you will not be allowed to return into the game to complete of the previously mentioned objectives (Unlike "Infamous" which will let you to continue on after the actual "campaign" of the game has ended to complete the side objectives).

The Difference Between the "Anarchy" and "Standard" Editions of Rage:

In addition to the different Weapons, Vehicles, and Armor types that are already present in the "Standard" Edition of Rage you get the following extra Items almost from the Get go...

The Double Barrel Shot Gun (My Favorite, A nice carry over from the Doom Franchise).

The Rat Rod Buggy Similar in the insides of the Buggy from Standard Edition, a nice bonus is if you upgrade either the buggy or the Rat Rod with a better part, the other other vehicle is automatically upgraded (Example: Buy spiked performance tires for the Dune Buggy the Rat Rod is automatically upgraded with the same part as well for no extra charge).

The Crimson Elite Armor A "All-In-One" Armor that combines the special abilities of the other 3 armor types that can be chosen in the Rage "Standard" Edition.

Fists of Rage -You get "Spiked" Gloves that go over your Hands if you want to inflict more damage with your fists.

The Wasteland Sewer Missions This is a additional 9 side missions broken into 2 parts each that is not accessible in the "standard" version of Rage that takes place around just outside of the different territories and settlements (I.E. Wellspring Entrance, Hagar Territory, subway town, etc...) that has you finding and looting the sewers for valuable junk that the mutants collected in the 1st part, then getting paid for going back and exterminating the Mutant Menace from the Sewers in the 2nd part. In the Anarchy Edition Case should be a one time Redemption Code in order to unlock this level as long as you brought this game new. I would advise not picking up a used copy of the Anarchy Edition of Rage since the code will either be missing or no longer valid.

If you were to download the Anarchy Edition content via the PSN (for both the Wasteland Sewer Missions and the extra Items of the Anarchy Edition) it would cost $12.00 altogether if you wanted to upgrade your existing standard edition copy of Rage to the Anarchy Edition level. Please take into this into consideration when contemplating which Edition to buy. If buying new you will end up saving overall on just paying to the $5.00 to $6.00 extra on the Anarchy Edition.

Overall: Other than an ambiguous ending that screams SEQUEL and despite the annoyance of the games save feature, A great new entry into the ID Software franchise, pure fun to play, I would highly recommend this game for anyone who loves a good FPS and Racing Death matches. I'm looking forward to when ID releases the follow up game.

Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll is a game that I've had my eye on, but didn't know if I would actually purchase it. When it was released, it was during a dry patch in my gaming so I figured why not. After spending a good 10 hours or so playing it over the past couple days, I've finally been able to make a decent first impression on the game and the pro's and con's that may help you decide if you're interested in getting it. Keep reading to find out.

Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll (Trinity from here on out) is an action RPG from Koei, the team behind the Dynasty Warriors series. You can see this in some of the gameplay elements but besides that this is a completely different game. The game starts with a nice cutscene describing the story. You play as Areus, a half elf who is destined to kill the emperor, your grandfather. When the evil emperor finds out about his fate, he has his pregnant daughter killed and your father murdered. Your mother manages to escape with you on a boat but his men are in hot pursuit. Fast forward many years and you're an adventurer who fights in the arena in a major city. To avenge your father, you need to get stronger to be able to take on the emperor. By doing quests and going on missions, your character knows that the experience will come which ultimately will lead up to the final confrontation with the emperor.

The story is fairly decent for an RPG game. Don't expect anything out of the ordinary though. It's told through nice cutscenes and text dialog between two static pictures (a very popular Japanese RPG style). Along your travels, you'll meet two new characters who will join your party who each have their own story and secrets about them. Finding that out and having them trust you isn't as easy as it seems though. While they'll divulge the knowledge over time, you are left hanging for long periods of time when the story does feel to get a little stale. It does pick up though and it seems it's right before it gets overly tiresome.

The gameplay in Trinity is similar to a Dynasty Warriors game in theory only. You control one of three characters and each button on your controller does something different. X jumps, while square, triangle, and circle all have skills mapped to them. You can change the skills at any time and they can even be upgraded with orbs you collect by killing enemies. When you get really good at fighting, you can even combine attacks from multiple characters and have one character kick someone in the air while the others jump up and beat them down. These attacks take skill and patience, but it comes easy enough through some trial and error.

The RPG elements in the game are light compared to others on the market but they are still pretty decent. You'll be able to find items, sell them to stores, and pick up new armor and weapons to equip. You can talk to people at the tavern or find quests at the adventurers guild. This game is really for the hardcore RPG fans only though, and the reason I say this is because of the way the non combat gameplay, especially in cities, was created. Everything is done from a menu and when people interact, a dialog pops up between two images. The artwork is good, but some people may be put off by this decision.

The game costs 60 bucks at launch and I'm sure it will come down over time. I am really enjoying playing it, but looking back, knowing what I know now...I don't know if I would have paid full price for admission. The game feels like a decent full priced game, but a great bargain priced game. So, who should play this? If you're starving for an RPG, give it a try. If you have other games you're currently working on and don't care too much for the RPG genre, this is a definite skip.

Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll (Trinity: SoZO) is a game that was given a very harsh review by the big companies; perhaps too harsh. While Trinity: SoZO is not a fantastic RPG, it isn't a bad one either. With well over 40 hours of gameplay here, and a solid storyline Trinity: SoZO will be a game that you simply can't put down until the final credits roll.

GAMEPLAY

Trinity: SoZO feels a bit like Dynasty Warriors with a more solid RPG element to it. You will have a party of 3 and can switch between characters at whim. Each character has skills you map to the controller (12 skills, can map a total of only 6). For much of the early part of the game (first 6-10 hours) you can expect to partake in tons of quests and arena fights to boost your skill level. Once you get past the initial early grind the game begins to open up and allow a much more free roam feel in terms of what you can do. "Quests" are randomly handed out be it from the Adventures Guild or by partaking in conversations in various taverns or shops. When you aren't in towns you will be out in the world in a large variety of areas fighting mobs. The game plays like a bit like a hack and slash then; plowing through lots of trash mobs with the occasional tough mob or even a boss grade mob. Just when you think things might be getting far to repetitive, the game will throw in some new features (such as chain combos). Overall the gameplay is quite a lot of fun and provides a non-stop flow of action but can get a little repetitive due to quests often taking you back to the same areas

GRAPHICS

The graphics are okay. They aren't mind blowing but they feel early PS3 in quality(720p). The part that hurts the game graphically is this annoying "filter" that is put over the game. You can not turn this filter off. "During gameplay" the filter is actually rather nice. It gives the game this nice PS3 water-painting look to it. However during cut-scenes the filter was just down right horrible! I mean the center of the cut-sceen looked gorgeous but the surrounding area had this dried up water-painting look (at times it looked like PS2 graphics due to the filter). There should of been an option to turn this filter off at least for cut-scenes

SOUND/STORY

The audio quality isn't bad. Combat sounds get a bit repetitive as does constantly spamming your skills. The main cast does a decent job with the voice acting but at times you could clearly see "edits" in the dialogue and awkward pauses. It isn't bad, but it isn't Final Fantasy quality here either so basically average. The story is actually quite refreshing. At first things will start slow but once the end of chapter 2 hits the storyline will draw you in. Rather than going around owning mobs or grinding the Arena I found myself plowing through storyline quests anxious to dig up more of what is going on. Even asking around at Taverns became a bit more eventful as rumors would be going around that might give clues to the overall picture being drawn here. Overall the storyline wasn't a masterpiece , but it actually was easy to follow and very interesting!

OVERALL (84% 8.4 / B)

Trinity: SoZO gets an 84% from me. It is a solid RPG that might start slow but will actually get better the more time you put into it. Questing can be a lot of fun and has plenty of variety to the quest types (hunting, escort, rescue, gathering, etc). If you enjoy RPG's and enjoy Hack and Slash gameplay, this game does a pretty good job blending the two elements together. What comes out is a fairly good RPG that brings adventure, story and lots of gameplay to the table

PROS

Over 40hrs of gameplay (not including extras I have yet to attempt)

Plenty of quests to do including a 50 level Labyrinth!

A nice variety to the combat system (12 skills per person; only 6 usable at one time... can chain skills together to make long combo chains)

Enjoyable Storyline

CONS

While there are tons of quests, it can be very easy to over level and end up with quests that are low level / incredibly repetitive (you revisit the same 2-3 areas over and over)

Filter really ruins the cut-scenes

No replay value (you can platinum trophy the game in one play-through, and there is little reason to start a brand new game over again)

The game isn't very straight forward at times with main quest hints like "Continue to work on advancing while separated from your party". You could spend hours just running around when all you had to do was go to Town C and speak to the Adventure Guild (Town B's guild wouldn't do anything for you)

Buy Trinity: Souls Of Zill O'll Now

This game is one of the best game from KOEI, it combines RPG with KOEI's "WUSOU" action style, Weapons and missions are random like diablo, and a long fine storyline, it takes me more than 50hrs to finish most of the side-missions before I hit the final stage. It's a very nice game in all!

I am not a rpg gamer, i do like them but hardly finish them. I got this game because i like dynasty warriors and samurai warriors and this is made by the same people and has been compaired to them. The combat is similar and thats about the extent of the similarities ive seen. I really enjoy this game alot and its a shame that it was released around the same time as mass effect 2 and dragons age 2 because im sure it will get overlooked. One thing i want to say is this game really should be played its a good solid effort by koei and a rpg. The story is typical fantasy stuff and the graphics are far inferior to mass effect and other rpgs ive seen/played but it is really fun. I know this isnt much of a review its just my opinions on a game that seems to be really overlooked and its a shame cause its a good game. I agree with others that you should wait till it goes down in price and then pick it up as the 60 new game price is a little steep for what you get (i'd say around 30-40). Also as a side note this is the 3rd game in the series and the first 2 never made it to the states but i've never played the 1st two and i can follow the story just fine.

Shipping time was expected and arrived in one piece. Took out the old laser and put in this new one and after testing Fallout to see if the laser would read, I found it working. But as I turned off the console and then back on to test the laser again, I found my first gen PS3 unable to read the disc, as before with the insufficient laser.

I know I did not make any mistakes as far as installing, so I must have gotten the one rotten tomato from the bag.

My PS3 stopped reading discs of any kind and I needed to fix it. This had happened once before and I replaced the entire blu-ray drive at a cost of about $90. It worked, but after about six months, stopped reading discs again. I could tell that the laser was moving and trying to read the disc, but nothing would happen, not even the disc icon would show up on the TV indicating the system was reading a disc. It's as if the laser eye went blind.

This time I decided to just swap the laser because $35 sounded way better than $90.

I received this laser yesterday, installed it, and now my PS3 reads all discs again! I hope this one will last more than six months but if not, I'll either get another laser for $35 or buy a PS4.

Want Replacement Laser Lens for Game SONY PS3 Discount?

So I don't normally write reviews but after my PS3 laser went up and I started getting frustrated with all the laser I kept buying that weren't working, so I feel it's only right to write this review.

My original laser is off a fat 60GB PS3(model no. CECHA01), so it has the brown clip, this one has the black clip. I kept reading that it matter, but it didn't, it works great! Quick and easy to install! If you can get to the deck, then you can easily take the laser out of it with only 3 screws. Honestly I tried installing a deck too thinking it be easier but that was more of a pain then just switching out lasers!

I'm so glad to finally found a laser that works and If I don't come back to edit my review, it's cause my laser is still working! If it blows up in like a few months, you bet I'll be back here preaching some more! ;)

Bought it for my son to use with his PS3. I've used Motorola before and liked them, although I have to say PLantronics makes a clearer unit.

Well, my son used it for a day, then stopped. When I asked him why, he said it "doesn't stay connected" to his PS3. I watched what he did and indeed it drops the bluetooth connection.

Motorola has been zero help.

Pros

Setting up this device with my PS3 was easy.

Its fun to chat with friends and in game.

Cons

The mic is almost satisfactory, the audio is muffled a bit.

The fit is terrible. I feel as though I have to sit still in order to keep this thing clipped to my ear.

Overall, I think I might check out a USB mic to see if I can get better audio quality and a better fit.

I am personally an avid FM fan and had this pre-oredered for the Xbox 360 for quite a while, and as of this review I have completed the game on Normal and Hard, and I am a Staff Sergeant 2 in Multiplayer.

Story/Characters/Cutscenes 2/5

The story (about 10 hours in length), though cliched, is truly weakened by how forced it feels--a little more exposition and well-placed dialogue explaining some of the under-lying themes/plot holes would have improved the otherwise average story I felt like I was watching a new addition to the Gundam series with no fight choreography. However, since Motomu Toriyama, the lead writer for Final Fantasy XIII wrote the story, it should come to no surprise that it has all the same issues as FFXIII's story; that being a lack of exposition manifested in unspoken themes and massive plot-holes. Additionally, The Character development was predictable, but the voice-acting, produced by Hydrogen Whiskey Studios, wasn't too bad. However, the dialogue provided to record was terrible--thank you Toriyama. The Cutscenes, also outsourced to Hydrogen Whiskey Studios, were quite good and went a long way to enjoying the otherwise below-average story.

Gameplay 4/5

Gameplay mechanics are tight, (Double-Helix did a great job) and the additional modes: On foot infiltration and Gunship Defense are well thought out and fairly fun (except on hard in which case they're a nuisance). I was very pleased to find no bugs in either of my two playthroughs, and quite frankly, a little shocked. It was quite refreshing as it has been too long since I have been able to say that. The gameplay, though not anything revolutionary, is the highlight of the game and makes the game worth buying for Hardcore FM fans and Hardcore Mech fans alike.

Customization 3/5

Customization mirrors that of FM, FM2, and FM4, so fans of the more open upgrade driven advancement in FM3 and FM5 will be disappointed. At different campaign levels and cash milestones more parts are available, and these new parts will yield the old parts obsolete (in most cases these new parts are upgrades to the previously purchased Wanzers). This doesn't bother me much, but I know this will be a concern to some FM fans and AC fans. An issue I have with the customization is the lack of strategy involved in the campaign and multiplayer as a result of customization restraints. For instance in FM4 and Evolved a Ballistics Wanzer could use a Recon Wanzers sensor backpack to extend the Ballistic Wanzers Range, and though the repair backpack makes a come-back, it comes at the cost of mobility as the roller-skating ability, though still accessible, is less maneuverable without the A.G.I.L.I.T.Y backpack. It feels like the strategic component is overall lacking in a series that has ever emphasized strategy.

Overall 3.5/5

For all its faults it was better than I expected. The story was written by Square-Enix, The voice acting and Cutscenes by Hydrogen Whiskey Studios, and the gameplay by Double-Helix, and despite this, the overall cohesion of the product is exceptional and exceeded my expectations. I truly enjoyed the full experience of it all despite it's shortcomings, so I recommend this for the true die-hard fan of the FM series and die-hard Mech Fans starved for more robotic slaughter, but everyone else should consider renting first.

Glitchy, after one patch the level "Percival" is unplayable. I loved Front Mission 3 and 4. This is more like Armored Core or even Robotech. I am all for evolution, but this game has lost it's identity by giving up it's strategy for pure action. Call me old school but a game shouldn't use every button unless it can be intuitive. Did I mention glitches? I rounded a corner in the level "Percival" and the ground and buildings disappear. Enemy silhouettes floating around. I hope the game gets fixed. If you like Armored Core you may like this game, but it wasn't the game I have been waiting for. Back to Fallout 3.

Buy Front Mission Evolved Now

I pre-ordered this game and finished the single-player campaign in about 12 hours, including some frustrating boss battles that took significant time to get past.

I've had no prior experience with the Front Mission strategy games; however, I played MechWarrior 2 and 3, MechCommander, Shogo, and Heavy Gear II on PC, and Armored Core on PS1. These games were all complex, varied, and fun. I rate Front Mission Evolved far below them. It is an arcade-version of a mech sim. In fact, I'd rather play Shogo: Mobile Armor Division from 1998 (which similarly has on-foot missions), because the story and voice-acting are much better, and it's actually fun. FME can't do better than a 12-yr old PC game? Skip it.

1. Complexity

While FME gives the illusion of complexity in the number of optional parts and weapons to customize your wanzer, there are really only a few you end up using. I found a few favorites and stayed with them, unless I was forced to customize by the story, or just to get through one of the boss fights. You won't find the need or inclination to use 75% of the options since their negatives outweigh the positives (if they have any). I used a rifle once, only when forced by the story, and tried grenade launchers but quickly abandoned them. Specific equipment changes were important and critical for me to make it through the boss fights (a shield became highly useful from mid-game on).

2. Varied

I liked the various visuals you see during the SP campaign, but besides texture and lighting changes, there wasn't much to make them play differently. The wanzer models and graphics are detailed an look good, but the rest of the graphics are a bit dated.

The on-foot missions are terrible and form an after-thought dung heap. It's sort of cool to destroy two wanzers and a few helicopters with the shoulder-launched missile, but if it only takes 2 or 3 shots, why does it take many salvos of wanzer-mounted missiles to achieve the same destruction?

3. Fun

The boss fights got increasingly annoying. Figure out the boss's move and time your dodge, then wail on him/her. Certain part or weapon changes can be crucial to get past these battles.

Multiplayer:

I have been playing multiplayer, and it is a little better than SP, mainly because your opponents have intelligence and there is a small amount of stategy in Domination and Supremacy game modes.

There are plenty of bad things that stand out, though. The game lobby is a ridiculously bare bones mess that lets you communicate to the other players only through a microphone, but most players don't have them. You can't pick your team (and auto-balance always does strange things), you must leave the MP lobby in order to quickly see the equipment on a wanzer; otherwise, you must access the slow wanzer customization menu. You can't see what wanzers the other players have chosen (including your teammates) and you can't change wanzers after you die before re-spawn.

It's not fun at all to work up from a low rank just to progress high enough to get decent weapons, because you will spend many hours and die hundreds of times to get there. It wouldn't be as bad if you could limit ranks when setting up a MP match. There is no reason to match rank with part/weapon access; skill should be the determining factor, and there is too little of that required. The biggest gun always wins, and that means the high-ranked officers usually clean up. The weapons have ended up being unbalanced. The heaviest hitting missiles and bazookas rule over all. The firing delays should be much longer on powerful weapons.

Launching a ranked match from the lobby is irritating. It's an automated affair, with a 60-second countdown starting after an even number (at least 4) of players is present.

If someone leaves or enters to make it an odd number (4 on 3, or 3 on 2), the timer pauses, which is good since this difference will determine the outcome of a match 99% of the time. This is easily discovered when a player leaves a match due to frustration or lag when:

1. the countdown freezes after reaching zero and stays in the lobby stating "waiting for players". If you wait long enough (minutes), the match MIGHT start.

2. the map is loading but it's taking longer than usual (just wait twice as long as you think it should take, and the match will start)

3. your teammate is getting repeatedly killed due to rank/weapon imbalance and leaves, so then YOU are even worse off

I wish this game was a turn-based tactical game with action elements (AND a better story AND acting AND replay) like Valkyria Chronicles, but then it wouldn't be multiplayer. In it's current form, it's an arcade shooter with little thought required.

I'm new to the mech genre of video games. I have played zone of the enders before as a playable demo, I thought I'd start with this game as my first mech game instead. From what I've seen from the previous game in the series those game were heavily strategic/rpg mech type. This game on the other hand goes for the straight shoot em' up route its non stop action there's little thinking involved. I think this is square enix's way of making their game series "harder edged". Well they kind of failed the gameplay is to basic it plays like a mech game from the ps2/xbox era.

The graphics are ok but its nothing special. The wanzers all animate nicely and you can customize them to your hearts content, this is the only part of the game where strategy is needed (and of course in the harder difficulty) choosing the right type of weapons and gear for your wanzer is very important. So i give the game credit for that and because i like the developers Double helix games, they do good work and can make great games if given the right license this game was great I personally enjoyed it because I never really played theses type of games before. But i'm going to have to play the earlier titles in the FM series to know what the series is really about.

I picked it up for 5 bucks from the gamefly store maybe thats why... but I still think it was well worth it and its definitely not a bad game. Give this game a shot at the very least its a rental

I was hesitant to get this after the reviews, but after playing through the first level I'm not mad that I did. It is no Skyrim or batman by any means but the theme is cool and it is different than all the other games in this genre that I have played. If you liked shadows of the damned, you will like this game. If you have 60 bucks to blow, this is good filler until kingdoms of amalar comes out next week. And contrary to another reviewer....you can shoot with no legs and you can use a sword/shoot with one arm.....you can also shoot with nothing but a head and two arms, but, as to be expected in a real situation, your shots go all over the place as you have nothing to help you aim. You can also do an attack with just your head. I dunno...i like weird games that don't fall into the cookie-cutter FPS...and this was a welcome change up.

I bought Neverdead after watching the trailers and thinking it was a pretty neat concept. Most mainstream reviews hated this game, which made me worry. It's also made by Rebellion, which has a pretty sketchy past when it comes to development.

The heart and soul of this game is the dismemberment feature, be it for solving puzzles or using your limbs in different means for combat. It makes sense in a way. When you have a protagonist that can't die, you need to have some kind of challenge. I never found it old (all be it sometimes frustrating) as you blow yourself up and all your parts go flying off in various directions. This leads to a mad dash (or roll via your head) to collect your limbs or out run monsters whose sole purpose is to eat your head. The upgrade system also works well, however it takes time to really power yourself up.

All the environments are decently done and the "destructible" settings add some flare. But don't think it's anywhere as destructible as Red Faction. It simply adds another element to the game.

I will say my two biggest problems with this game are the constant need to protect your partner (you can die very easily) and the insanely fast re-spawn rate of monsters. To constant escort mission of your partner is fine, but she dies so easily. She doesn't seem to be able to hold herself in battles at all. Granted it's nowhere as bad as say Knights Contract, but like most games with an AI guardian, it could be better. With the monster re-spawn, it can be insanely fast. Especially in an area where you cannot progress until you kill all the monsters and spawn points. This element gets rather frustrating later on, when you have multiple spawn points and you are surrounded by hordes of monsters.

All in all, Neverdead isn't a bad game. Yes its not worth 60 dollars, but if you need a time filler and need a decent game Neverdead would be a good choice. Just don't expect it to be anything amazing and it won't disappoint you.

But it is so awesome and deserves a better overall rating. I came on here right away to post this review using my phone lol!

Way too much negativity towards this game! It's fresh, original and I think it pisses people off just because it's not CoD. It uses a fun, unique mix of shooting, swordplay and limb combat that you won't get in any other game. The characters are a nice break from the norm and provide good entertainment and so far I'm loving all of it. The music is awesome. The graphics are good. And these days for the price a new copy is a steal. The swordplay controlled with the right stick works amazingly and just going around destroying the environment is fun in itself. Monsters also slice up according to swing direction, Bryce frowning while his decapitaded head flies through the air it's all just great. I thought losing limbs would be a pain but its beyond easy to regain them so no stress there.

Dodging and slicing feels cool and let's you keep those limbs too. I'll update more but so far. For this game to make this impression and have me do this review on my phone says something. Its a refreshing, especially if you've played as many games as I have. Happy gaming.

The game is fun for a while (2 or 3 hours), the rest is boring. The game has like 5 different enemies and you have to fight them again and again.

Want NeverDead Discount?

This game had a cool idea to it, but the execution was horrible. The controls are clunky, there is very limited variation in enemy type. The idea behind "never dying" was nice and fun at the beginning, but after the first 20 minutes it becomes extremely painful and grueling. In order to "lose" in the game, the woman who accompanies you has to be dropped to her knees and you have a time limit to save her. It's extremely annoying.

This game is NOT worth the 60 dollars. If you really wish to try this game for yourself, wait until it drops to 10/15 dollars or rent it for lower. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Much has already been said about how incredibly awesome this game is! The high ratings from the "professional" reviewers are no lie--Bioshock Infinite is everything Ken Levine and his team at Irrational set out to create, and everything us fans have hoped for. From the fantastic setting and incredible story to the fast/furious gunplay and action-packed sequences, Infinite is as good (perhaps even better) than the original Bioshock. The interplay between Booker and Elizabeth is entertaining on many levels--not only is she helpful in battle, but there's also a satisfaction in witnessing her sense of wonder as she explores and enjoys her new-found freedom. While the Vigors are basically the same good old plasmids with new names and Booker oddly seems to "trip" on things laying on the ground in the environment, there is little to be critical of in this incredible masterpiece of video gaming.

As for this particular edition, the PS3 Premium Edition includes:

1) The game (Move Compatible, if you care)

2) The original Bioshock on disc (an odd addition, since most fans would already own it anyway...I gave my original copy to my nephew)

3) 4X6 Lithograph (mine is an advertisement for the Devil's Kiss Vigor, don't know if they are all the same)

4) Murder of Crows Vigor bottle keychain (I particularly liked this item, very cool keychain)

5) Handyman Gameboard Piece (the only disappointing item...very small, blue, cheap plastic thing)

6) The Art of Bioshock Infinite (VERY nice hard-backed mini-art book, beautiful artwork, very impressed with this item)

7) Bioshock Infinite Soundtrack (a code to download the soundtrack from their website)

8) Upgrade Pack Code (Bull Rsh, Extra! Extra! and Betrayer Power Ups)

9) PS3 Theme Code (decorate your PS3 home screen)

For only twenty dollars more than the standard edition, I felt like the Premium Edition was totally worth it. I highly recommend it and I would totally purchase a premium edition from Irrational again in the future.

UPDATE

Finished the game a few days ago, and I still think this game is amazing! The gameplay is very much like the previous Bioshock installments, although the gunplay has a much more intense first-person shooter feel, particularly over the original. These are in no way negative criticsms, however! Where the game truly shines is the engrossing and thought-provoking story, which has sparked smart discussions and debates amongst gamers--how often does that happen?! My other favorite aspect of the game continues to be the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth, which is one of the best-written video game partnerships ever. If you are still holding off picking up Bioshock Infinite, I highly recommend grabbing a copy and start playing!

I have enjoyed the BioShock series, and was interested when Infinite was announced.

A New City in the sky? 1912 American themes? New character interaction? I decided to pre-order the Premium Edition and that's what this review will focus most on, because there are tons of other reviews about how great the game is, and don't get me wrong, it is great. Once you start playing, you'll wish it never ends.

Anyway, here we go.

The box itself is pretty unique. Hard cardboard with folding out arms that has some nice artwork on it. It's covered in a plastic sleeve.

* The game itself (Has a cool reversible cover) and includes the original BioShock for installation (12GB)

* Art Book Very cool. Great quality and the artwork is beautiful. Even has that tarnished look/feel to it

* Lithograph Great little quality poster. It's an advertisement of the "Devil's Kiss" vigor that you use in-game

* Murder of Crows Keychain A great keychain of a resin crow vigor bottle. Based off the vigor in-game.

NOTE: On the BioShock Infinite website it said "comes with a sturdy brass keychain" I actually believed it would have been made of brass or metal, but in reality it is a plastic, brass painted keychain. Just beware it doesn't look the sturdiest.

* Handyman figurine A miniature figurine of the Handyman character in-game. It is very small, it could fit on the tip of my index finger. It is used for the upcoming BioShock Infinite Board Game. So if plan on buying that, then this item may be useful to you.

*In-game gear Perks that are used in-game. You get three, but you'll pick up so many others during the game, you may not use the exclusive ones.

*Voucher for PS3 Dynamic Theme Really cool, features the city with confetti falling and crates riding along the skylines.

*Voucher for Soundtrack Download Great music, although the tracks are all listed like this "BioShockInfinite01-Introduction"

Requires some editing if you plan on using it in iTunes. Add the artist, and some album artwork.

That's all there is. For an extra $20, not bad at all. Quite worth it. Get the game, you will love it and wish there was more.

Overall, very pleased with the purchase. Highly recommended!

The game is incredible, I highly recommend. In the future, I would have preferred buying the Ultimate Songbird edition (entirely for the collectible statue) or the basic version. The included things are mostly cool. I like the artbook and the lithograph. The keychain is too nice to actually use. The statuette looks a little cheap. Despite showing a CD in the image, the soundtrack is downloadable mp3, and doesn't include some of the cover songs (like the Barbershop "God Only Knows") that I was hoping for. Most of the CD is original music that plays during gameplay, which is good, but disappointing.

This is the best game I have ever played. The game has the best story line out of all the games I have played. It will twist your mind and leave you questioned at the end. It has great graphics and the environment around you is where a lot of this game is at. Observing Columbia is one of the best parts in the game. It's such a beautiful world and all the set pieces make your jaw drop in awe. The sound is incredible and you will wait til you have a moment of silence to enjoy the winds of Columbia. Voice acting is great and weapons sound great as well. Using the vigors is awesome and fun and with the weapon selection it keeps combos interesting. You can even create combos with vigors. I know a lot of people say gameplay is bland and boring. I disagree. I usually find gameplay to be pretty fun anyways as it's not to much of a deal breaker for me. This game is meant to be played more than once. You will understand things better in your second playthrough and the game will make more sense. It really question you throughout your first time playing and there are a lot of wtf moments. Overall, this is an amazing game! Everything is amazing and the story will leave you in questions at the end and you will probably want to play it again. This to me is one one the best games that has ever came out. It's a masterpiece in gaming.

This headset is ok, for only having one earpiece the sound is pretty decent, although if you have another tv going in the same room it can be hard to hear. It syncs easily to your PS3 system, provided you follow the instructions properly. Not compatible with Xbox 360 which is unfortunate, but for $15u it is certainly worth its weight. I evaluate this game in three parts (playing at "normal" level):

1. exploration/discovery

2. tasks

3. dueling

1. exploration/discovery 5 stars

Hogwarts castle and surrounding scenery are truly spectacular on the PS3. Everything from the owlery to the Gryffindor common room to the grand staircase is amazingly detailed and beautifully rendered. As a fan of the series, it was a joy to seek out the nooks and crannies, gain "discovery points", and feel like I really lived there.

2. tasks 3 stars

The tasks in the first half of the game were my favorite finding all the students in the DA. These tasks gave me a reason to explore the castle and grounds, and find hidden objects and secret passageways. They also required improving my spellwork using the PS3 controller. I found some of the tasks after Christmas tedious, however, and sometimes I felt bored or downright irritated (especially when tasks required too much repetition.)

3. dueling 1 star

Here's where the game really missed an opportunity. I thought I was practicing my spellwork with all those tasks so I could become very good at dueling when the time came to meet Voldemort, Malfoy, and other baddies. Instead, it felt like the game practically took over for me, and I'm not sure I had much influence on what happened (although I do cast a good protego!) This was a shame, because OOTP has good fight scenes.

My game has hung once, and charms practice in Prof Flitwick's classroom has a bug and doesn't work properly.

I'm still pleased to own the game overall, for the sheer fun of "being at" Hogwarts and discovering fun treasures and clever rewards (I love the prefect's bathroom!) I also love seeing all my old favorite characters and hearing the real voices of the actors and the wonderful music. EA put a lot of effort into the game. They missed in some places and exceled in others. For fans, I'd say it's worth the investment.

Bought this for my son for christmas but discovered he had already completed the game for the Game Testers Club he goes to. So have returned it. This "game" sucks. The castle and grounds are really well-done and it was fun to explore.... for about 30 minutes; after that, there really was nothing going on but a weak story and a lot of mundane chores. Also, not being to control the camera angle was aggravating on many levels. I often found myself wanting to blast Ron and Hermione for being constantly in the way and contributing nothing. Chamber of Secrets, with the poor graphics and all the cartoonishness was 10 times more fun because it, at least, had some challenge to it. Save your money.

I recently bought a PS3 after not playing video games for years. Since I'm a big Harry Potter fan, I bought this game since it was the most rated among the Harry Potter series. I'm about 60% through the game and the challenges that Harry goes through in this game are mostly ver boring. They're mostly comprised of figuring out ways to climb on top of things and retrieve items. I had expected that the game will provide for some exciting challenges / puzzlers like the actual books / movies do. I would give the graphics and Hogwarts visualization a 4 star, so all in all I think the game is just mediocre. If you can get it for $10 or less, go ahead and try it out, not worth more than that to me.

I needed a guitar for my Rockband PS3 since I have always been using friend's instruments. I decided to buy this since it works for Guitar Hero 3 PS2 as well as Rockband PS3, the two games that I have. It does work great for both of those games, although getting it to work for GH3 PS2 required a lot more than it should have. Also, I have to calibrate it every time or else it's off 20 ms or so.

It worked well for maybe two weeks, and even then you had to press the buttons really hard, but then the buttons started sticking. This wasn't that big of a deal in Hard Mode, but in Expert it is completely unplayable. How am I supposed to do hammer-ons when my Red button sticks for an extra second? Also, the raised bump on the yellow fret is way too rigid.. it starts to hurt your fingers after a while.

I am very upset about this guitar, having spent $60 on something that barely functions and doesn't last at all.

This is the lousiest piece-of-junk ever made. Weighs 1/2 as much as the Strat and plays 1/8 as well. Sticky-buttons, strange strap hooks and limp whammy bar and there you have it. Came in the wrong box. Bad sign. Rubber tuning forks. Cheap. All buttons are black matt. Not Chrome as displayed. The strap hook is on the back of the guitar. Not the chrome button on the tip of the body as shown. Mine broke after 3 weeks and I don't even care to get any kind replacement from the ant commandos. Dumb company name, too.

I like this guitar. I use it with Rock Band and have no complaints. The buttons are all the same color as in the picture. It is more matte black than shiny and the whammy bar is a little flimsy but I don't even use that much. I like the rubber tuning keys since they are just for decor you don't have to worry about them snapping off, and the strap placement is a lot more comfortable than other gaming guitars I've used. The button and strum sensitivity are good and the placement of the start and select buttons are convenient because you can easily put it into overdrive by bumping it with the butt of your palm, without accidentally pausing the game mid song. The only issue I have is the gyroscopic switch sensitivity. To put the guitar into overdrive by movement instead of pressing select you have to tilt the guitar completely vertical which causes a lot of mistakes in game. I'm thinking about taking it apart and adjusting it to react to only slight tilts. But still, I bought this guitar because it was full size, pretty, and I can customize it instead of borrowing my friends "instruments." Thumbs up for the Widow Maker... I just wish someone would make some sticker mods for it...

This controller is not worth it. IF u dont believe me then waste ur money and buy it. It first sold in UK. In my opinion there is no functional 3rd party controller with 360 pad style layout. Even the xcm cross battle plus adapter lags in fighting games. We hope sony man up and accept the fact that its controller isn't meant for FPS games due to small size and stick layout of DS3.

PROS: Works with out lag when used as wired

Bluetooth

Switch bumper and trigger button.

Feels good in the hand

CONS: Bluetooth don't function properly (Lags randomly, and lags heavily when a bluetooth headset is in use).

Bumper button placement

Buttons have to be pressed hard to respond (except the triggers.)

DeadZone (same as any other 3rd party controller).

This controller is a scam. Cannot return it bcos it was bought in UK. As far as FPS is concerned this will disappoint u. Just get xcm cross battle plus and wired 360 controller.

i'm freely admit i'm a GI JOE fanboy, so keep that in mind when reading this review.

i really didn't know what to expect from this game. trailers aren't always indicative of actual gameplay and the videogame community seemed bound and determined to hate this game before it was even released and without even playing it, but i took a chance and bought it anyway. what can i say, i'm a fanboy.

i finished the campaign last night and here are my thoughts:

the good:

1) it's GI JOE!

2) there's a decent mix of old [duke, scarlett, snake eyes, heavy duty, ripcord, shipwreck/parrot] and new [sgt. flash, kamakura] characters, including one character built just for the game [agent helix]. i would have preferred a line up of classic joes, but the inclusion of the newer joes by no means lessens the game. and being able to play the cobra characters is fun, too [firefly, destro, baroness]. kind of fun to play the baroness and scarlett side-by-side.

3) each joe's special moves are pretty fun. i was fond of scarlett's homing arrows and beach head's motion-detected, homing mines. they're both very effective against the enemy. other's were less interesting, but fun all the same.

4) the 3rd person co-op mode is a lot more fun than COD's split screen.

5) the boss battles are challenging, but not inordinately so.

6) there are plenty of trophies to be won, even if most are pretty easy to achieve.

7) some have complained about the graphics -but the story more embraces the cartoon than the larry hama-penned comics. i didn't have any problems with the graphics. they were suitable, colorful and fun.

8) i liked the storm shadow-trained red ninjas. kind of corny, but kind of cool.

9) good nostalgia factor.

10) buy it on amazon and you can unlock scarlett's classic uni.

11) accelerator suit mode!

the not-so-good:

1) the voice acting is horrendous. i mean truly bad. if it were so-bad-it's-good, i'd be ok with it, but it's not. the 'jokes' are lame. the characters flat. the dialogue is equally bad.

2) the player has no control over the camera. there were a few times i had no idea what i was shooting at until i took the most circuitious rout down a hallway just to find out. no good.

3) it's fairly short [but does offer some decent replay value]. there are three environments, six missions in each.

4) price point -it's WAY overpriced for what you get. if you want to buy it, wait a few months until the price drops to $19.99 or buy it used.

5) somewhat repetitive game play. this is a classic shooter, nothing more, nothing less. the developers could have spent a bit more time and come up with some a more clever storyline, or more engaging missions, but like i said, it's a straight up duck & cover, run & gun shooter.

6) scarlett is cross-eyed in the cut scenes. i don't know what that's all about, but that should have been fixed.

all in all, this is a game directed probably at the 11-15 year old crowd, but i had a good time with it. if you're looking for a sophisticated shooeter like COD:MW, or BioShock, this isn't it. nor should it be. but that doesn't make it a stupid or unworthy game. just take it for what it is. having said that, if this were a $ game, i'd give it four stars. but since it's overpriced, it's a solid three.

Actually, notwithstanding the previous reviewer's comments, you *can* switch targets by using the *right* analog stick to toggle between targets. You don't get visual crosshairs, but that works (and yes, it's in the instructions.) But the other reviews are right about the lack of camera control and the sometimes dumb camera angles, and the lacklustre graphics (not much better than one would have expected from a PS 2 game).

What is good about the game is that the controls are pretty simple and if you're a very casual gamer AND a G.I. Joe fan, like I am, you can just pick it up and enjoy mindlessly mashing buttons, blasting things, and getting through the levels without wanting to bash your head against a brick wall and solve time-consuming, complex puzzles. In this sense, it is more arcade-like: put in another quarter and play some more ... except there's no need for quarters! Hurray! If you fit that description, you might enjoy it as I have, and it would be especially worth picking up this game once it goes on deep discount (as it no doubt will). But if you are a video game connoisseur or frequent gamer who enjoys intricate gameplay and complex controls ... stay away. You will not be happy with this game.

Note: Snake Eyes is an astonishingly feeble character. He literally uses a tiny handgun that barely inflicts any damage, and he injures quickly and recovers slowly. Scarlett has more firepower and stamina than ol' Snakes does.

I wish I had a chance to see just how bad this game really was, but I can't even get passed the first Mission. Upon completion of the mission, I had to buy my first Joe (Heavy Duty). Unfortunately, this proved to be impossible, as none of the buttons would allow me to complete my purchase in the Team Roster. This was very aggrevating to say the least. Save yourself the money and buy something else more worthwhile.

The thought that this was developed for the PS3 is a joke, this game would not be worthy of a PS2 release. The graphics are terrible, the game play is PS1 like and when it came out you could buy it for $59.99?! At the current $9.96 I still wouldn't buy it and use that as a warning to how bad this game is because no PS3 game goes for that low this quickly unless it's crap to begin with.

This game blows. hard. I'd rather spend the day knitting with my Aunt Martha than play one level of this piece of crap game. No offense, Auntie M. :)
