Finally a singer worth imitating, the singstar universe is littered with hit and miss numbers throughout its compilations this one is fortunately almost all HIT. Here we get to rock our pipes next to the great Freddie Mercury and matching pitch with him isn't so easy on some of these tunes especially on hard. Either way you play a terrific selection of Queen tracks that highlight the incredible sense of melody that was infused into these arena-pop-gospel power anthems and ballads. Singing backup on some of these songs is also surprisingly satisfying, terrific fun and a great way to crack your shell. Princes of the universe needs to be on this disc and I would have liked a wireless mic bundle with this release, otherwise 4.5 stars. The videos show their age more than the music but are interesting documents themselves.

Buy it, crank it, and let yourself go.

Let me first start by saying that I am a singstar addict. I have all the games released so far in the US for the PS3, I imported the wireless mics from Europe, and I am considering buying other titles that have been released in Europe, but not here. With that said here is my review. The Singstar format is still the same: Online Store, Online Community, and Game play. Why fix it if it isn't broke? Queen is one of the greatest rock bands of all time with so many recognizable hits, so Singstar really has a winner with a title that has so many memorable songs. You can play alone, in a duet, or even as a group... it's tons of fun. There are of course other titles with different artists, but if you are a Queen fan, this is a must have. So, get it, and sing, sing, sing... become a SingStar!

The game should have been rocking, but instead I was left feeling this was a nice lip-synch, but poorly executed karaoke dvd. Singstar could have made the features on this game more robust and more entertaining.

SingStar Queen has pretty much all of my favorite main-stream Queen tracks and the mixing is great. I can't really complain about the selection because it features more than We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, and Killer Queen!!

However, I am a bit saddened that some of the tracks do not have you singing all of Freddy's lines but instead pop you to the chorus or back-up singers. I usually just blow my score and sing what I want to at those parts. :)

I own four of thesse chargers. They charge the controllers fast and have a light to let you know when they are charging (red) that changes when the controller is fully charged (green). The accent light that changes color is pretty cool. You can switch it off if you don't like it, but I like it. Easy to connect the controller to and align usb ports. I've tried other chargers that were cheap and broke or almost impossible to plug in. I wouldn't consider using any other charger unless they developed an induction charger for the PS3 controller that was cheaper and engineered better than the current one that is on the market.

Awesome stand. Changes colors and charges a ps3 controller. It is a smart charger so it doesn't keep trying to charge once full. Looks great and would recommend if you have a single controller like me.

Works just like it should.

Just a note: If your PS3 was previously hooked up with anything other than composite you need to reset its video settings by holding the power for 10 seconds (from standby) you should hear it beep and the video will show up.

This cable does the job of moving those images to the old-fashion 3-cable output TVs. However, keep in mind: The quality of data that is trasnferred from the PS3 and the TV through this cable is lower compared to that of an HDMI. So even if you have a high quality TV but are still using this cable, you may notice a reduced resolution due to the fact that you're not using an HDMI output/input.

By all means, the picture quality is still great, but if you can go HDMI I highly recommend it. The reason I'm giving this a 5-star is because this cable does its job properly, and I've had no connectivity issues.

My son has the larger PS3 and needed to hook it up to view on our Sony (analog) TV. The product description (i.e.,"Composite AV Video Cable for SONY PLAYSTATION 3 PS2 PS3") led us to believe it would work with his PS3. Unfortunately it did not. Back to searching for the correct Composite AV Video/Audio Cable. Suggestions welcome.

I was a huge fan of MLB The Show 07, and didn't think Sony could really improve upon itself. Boy was I wrong! Here are just some of the improvements made.....

1. Improved graphics not as much of a cartoony look. Amazing looking fields, background animation (people playing with beach balls in the stands, just as examples) And this time people actually go for foul balls hit into the stands.

2. Improved stats This game track EVERYTHING, including how your player fares at the plate with various pitches, locations, pitchers, etc. It also has a better "training" mode in my opinion. Similiar to last year's, but a little more specific.

3. You can import your own soundtrack to play in the game. And the manual makes it very easy to do so.

The only thing that I found that was a negative so far is when you are fielding. If the batter takes a ball or strike, many times the at-bat starts over, with a 0-0 count.

They did say that you can play an entire game, and even save the game before a full game is completed. However, this DOES NOT APPLY to the "Road to the Show" mode.

If you want a baseball game that is realistic in just about every aspect, you need to buy this game. I played 07 until today, when I bought 08. And I am certain I will be playing this one until 09 comes out.

Hands down, this is the best baseball game on the market. Sony has taken the time and effort to perfect a baseball game with every aspect of realism you can have! From the people in the stands to the signiture moves of the players, to the unique not often repeated announcers... no game has ever gotten you closer to actually being at a ball park. I am an avid baseball fan, and I can say that I really look for authenticity when it comes to my sports (especially baseball games). The controls are perfect, not too crazy as well, which is very important. Overall, I'd say Sony has a huge winner when it comes to this game!

I have been waiting for a quality MLB game to come out for the PS3 and saw that The Show was getting more attention than 2K8, so I preordered The Show. I played it today and I am blown away. This game is great. I love how simple basic gameplay is. You can get really good at this game, but at the same time, someone who has not played this game before will be able to pick it up and compete. HD graphics and THX sound. This game is excellent.

This is simply the best baseball game ever made. Is it perfect? No, but it's close.

Everything it does, it does well. Hitting takes some practice, but after awhile it comes pretty easy. AI seems excellent. Graphics are great. The game will online and download the latest rosters for all the teams. ...Just get it.

Want MLB 08 The Show Discount?

Here's a real quick look at my credentials for this review, so you know I'm not biased: I played baseball for 15 years, including college. I have all 3 systems, and have played MLB 2K8 (on 360) and 08 The Show.

This game has no rival. If you played the MVP series back when EA made excellent baseball games (before Take Two scored exclusive rights to the MLB with the exception of the already-standing agreement with Sony to make this one), then you remember what fluid, fun baseball can be like on a home console. The framerates are stellar, in 3 months worth of a season (haven't been able to stop playing yet) I have seen no reduction at all with broadcast presentations turned on. The presentations are as close to a real TV broadcast as it gets. The animations are spot-on, even the umpires are real (I saw a second baseman drop the ball when he was trying to get ready to throw it to first on a double play, the umpire actually signalled that it was on the transfer, and the runner was out I've never seen anything like that in a video game before).

In Road To The Show, with my player standing on third base, it really did feel like I was there. Instead of pausing the game to check how many outs there are, I simply had my player turn to look at the scoreboard in left. Coach requests make sense, you have to cover bases and back-up throws like you normally would, and your role actually feels like you're part of a team but still an individual trying to make it to The Show.

I took MLB 2K8 back within a few minutes of playing this gem. Highly recommended.

PROS:

* Realism in animations, presentations, and gameplay

* Road To The Show like a game within a game, or for most people THE game

* Controls are simple and feel natural to a baseball video game especially when controlling one player in RTTS

* Online with multiplayer and roster updates (a big deal when you have accurate rosters without having to force trades or manipulate the game)

* Improved coaching in RTTS

* Improved menus and stats all around

* Umpires and crowd react realistically (crowd plays with beach ball and reach for foul balls, umpires signal, duck, are inconsistent... just well done)

CONS

* Too many foul balls

* Some repeated dialogue (inevitable)

* Some bad minor league stadiums

* Long load times

Overall this is easily the best baseball game of this generation of consoles, and possibly within the last 5 years. A true next-generation experience.

I will start with the obvious, the game looks beautiful. The graphical

quality does not change between cutscenes and gameplay. Kojima and his team pulled out all the stops on the beauty of this game, as they have always striven to do.

SPOILER ALERT

Then there is the story. A lot of people harp on the Metal Gear Series because the story is full of twists. One person even said that the plot was twists and only twists. That person missed the point completely. Especially by the end of this game, it becomes apparent what Kojima had been pushing for. The message about humanity is clear... the MGS series has always been anti-war, anti-genetic determinism, anti-environmental determinism, every mistake that humanity has ever made with regards to war and control of the populous has been addressed in some way. Consider the history through which Kojima derives his inspiration. His home country of Japan experienced an apocalypse during WWII while causing an apocalypse in mainland Asia at the same time.

In all situations of war no matter who begins the fight or where it starts or ends, the young will repeat the mistakes of the old, and the old will let the knowledge gained from their mistakes slip away with death. Even the most heinous actions, deception, murder, are a means to an end, and the end is all that really matters.

SPOILERS OVER

Gameplay was spectacular. The MGS franchise is one of very few that has made significant gameplay improvements with every subsequent release. Control of Snake feels much more fluid, yet at the same time you can feel his age in the way he performs. Though he is more agile and powerful than the average human could ever be, he isn't quite the same old Snake. He is THE Old Snake.

Old Snake gets a lot of neat toys in this game, too. Most notably is his chameleon suit. If he lays flat, his suit will automatically adopt the pattern of the materials that are on the floor. By pressing the "triangle" button while up against a wall, he will adopt those coverings as well.

The second great toy is Drebin's shop. Drebin is a weapons launderer who gives Old Snake full access to replacement ammo and other supplies. ID Locked weapons can be converted to old-world weapons that do not require nanomachine permissions. There are A LOT of weapons in this game. First time through you probably won't get to experience all of them, and that is okay. Just check them out on your next run. The game is only about 10-15 hours long depending on how you choose to play. Also, through Drebin's shop Old Snake can modify his weapon. The first weapon, the M4 Custom is a good all-purpose weapon. It packs a decent punch and holds 30 rounds. It can be modded with a shotgun attachment, grenade launcher, or foregrip for stability. Laser sights and scopes can also be added to the M4 and other select weapons. So play around and have fun.

Toy #3 is the Metal Gear Mark II, Hal's minature Metal Gear Rex that is mostly harmless...mostly. When you need a buddy to turn the corner and remain unseen for you, Mark II can cast an invisibility cloak and make sure the coast is clear. If things get sticky, it has a shock wire function to incapacitate unsuspecting foes. The same tool can be used to knock on surfaces to distract your enemies and guide them away from Old Snake's true position. It is a neat little gadget that you may or may not find to be useful.

Next up, the enemies. In this game, it is impossible to hate the enemies you fight (except for Vamp) because they are amazing, flat-out. Whether they are GECKOS (bipedal beast machines), FROGS (all-female supersoldiers), or Private Military Company militia-men (remnants of their humanity will keep you grounded), or the Beauty and the Beast Corps (best enemies in of all time in videogames?), enemies are not just targets. Kojima and his crew made the enemies in this game characters to be admired. They neither have names nor faces, but they will f*** your day up very quickly if you do not respect their power. From the top down, they are all capable killers.

The humanity of this game lies within Snake's allies. Meryl, Eva, Hal, the Colonel, Mae Ling, Raiden, Rosemary, Naomi, and especially Sunny represent the other side of life. Old Snake is a manufactured product of war, the only life he has ever known. No machine can imitate or destroy the compassion that these individuals shared. This is passion. I won't go on, can't explain much else without major spoilers.

Gameplay, people, visuals, this game is stunning. Metal Gear Sold 4 exemplifies why videogames deserve to be celebrated as art. It has the story worthy of novel publishing, breath-taking visuals, engrossing music, and an all-around realism that we celebrate in paintings such as the Mona Lisa. If only more videogame producers put this much time and effort into a game. Production for perfection... long hours, perspiration, and inspiration to produce the culmination of one's efforts... that is art... this is art.

If you are a casual gamer, this is not for you. If you have never played the other MGS games, this is probably not for you. Play through MGS1-3 in order to get the story and gameplay straight, and then play MGS4.

For everyone who has been trying to compare this game to COD and HALO...come on. MGS4 is not a pure shooter. They put it nice and bold on the cover, "Tactical Espionage Action". That means be sneaky and use force only as needed. Play a "shooter" and judge other shooters with it. MGS4 is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a shooter.

Could this go down as one of the best games of all time? Absolutely. Game of the Year? For sure. It is in a league of its own. Nothing else plays like it. Few other games are as engrossed in the mystique of political/sci-fi conspiracy. Too few have such dedicated stories. In most games, the producer's passion is not as apparent. MGS4 had a 105 degree fever with Kojima's ardor for gaming perfection. The game feels like he and his team cared.

Hideo Kojima has done it again. MGS4 is the most detailed, convincing, and well-researched game I have ever played. It offers a compelling and imaginative glimpse into the future of high-tech warfare, a nuanced, intelligent storyline, vastly improved gameplay, and incredible graphics.

The metal gear franchise has always pushed the boundaries of what a game could be, and challenged the preconceptions of the audience. MGS4 starts out with, of all things, a short live action film about marine fauna. The in-game store discounts weapons (in real time) on wednesdays and sundays. These are just a few examples, but there are many more. The story has both the philosophical and political musings as well as the bizarre humor and one of a kind characters that fans expect.

The gameplay is more open and the action is more intense than in prior games. The environments seem much bigger and are bustling with npcs engaged in building to building warfare. Snake can join either side in the conflict or ignore them and sneak by. He has a ton of new weapons and gadgets as well.

The graphics are among the most impressive I have seen in a game. The characters are solid physical presences with subtle, lifelike facial expressions. The mechs move with an animal grace and hunt with a keen intelligence that belies their artificial construction.

Overall, the game is an experience that should not be missed by anyone with a PS3. If you don't already own a PS3, this game alone would justify its purchase. It is by far the most creative, original, and technically polished game to appear on the system to date.

Buy Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Now

Before I start... I do my fair share of gaming, but I'am by no means a very obsessive gamer. So I never really knew about Metal Gear Solid until I bought this game. I'm a huge fan of first person shooter games like COD, Resistance, etc. So I saw the ads and thought it was another military type shooting game so I went out and spent the $59.99 and got the game. I put the game into the PS3 and after about an 8 minute wait (becasue the game is so amazing that it needs time to load some stuff on to the PS, but you still need the disk to play the game!) the game started and I was completely blown away. I have played some really good games in my time and on many systems, but this has, by far, been THE best game that I have palyed on ANY system before. The quick down low on this game... the graphics... I give a 10/10. The detailing of the all the characters, the details on the machinery and the surroundings, it was awesome. The thing that made is so spectacular was the fact that the developers did put so much attention to the details that they did a very good job of simulating real life as best as possible. Another big pet peeve of mine is the acting of the characters in the game. I feel like it plays a big part in the gaming experience and people don't give it much credit. So for the acting another 10/10: the character voices fit the characters, and the voice acting was done superbly. The animation was also done extremely well, my only fuss about the animation is that you can't really read how the character is feeling by looking at thier face: the pretty much always put on the same face... but no game has ever done that really well either so I looked over that fact. Finally for game play I give 9/10. I give it such a "low" rating because quite frankly this game is a bit tough to get accustomed to (all though once you do... you're pretty much ready to kick some MAJOR BUTT). I guess a more crazy gamer would have managed to get all the controls down quickly... but for me it took me a while to figure out how to use all the controls. At first the menu that shows all your items, weapons, and an array of other things was very difficult to figure out. Once you got past that you had to actaully figure out how to use the items, weapons, etc. It took me the longest time to figure out how to use Med-packs... but that could also be due to my inabilities :-p. So basically thats why the gameplay is 9/10... overall its just a confusing interface to get used to, but once you do it gets very fun. Also the interactions in the game is awesome. Like the bad guys can figure out when you are there just by bascially seeing you (obviously), hearing you (also obvious), and smelling you (Yea... thats a new one on me too). So its really fun trying to sneak around all the levels w/o getting spotted... but fear not my first person shooter fans... there are thrills here for you too... if the baddies spot you, you're gonna' be pulling out some very nifty guns to shoot them: my fav. is the p90. Just before I end here, if you don't know about the Metal Gear Series (like myself) you won't really know what's going on in the game. In that sense it really sucks because you're just shooting and sneaking around w/o really knowing what's happening. The developers just assumed that you played previous versions so they just build on the stories of the last one's so you miss out a lot of the stories and things like that. But, I went on Wiki and basically read the story like a book so I was all set! And lastly (I promise this time) the game does feel like its more of a movie with some player interaction becasue the cut scenes are ridiculously long... so if you are'nt a cut scene type of person... you might not like this game. As for me.... I loved it!!!So basically this game is wicked fun and if you haven't bought it yet... you HAVE TO!!!!!

This is the first truly next-gen game to grace either console (PS3/360, the Wii is different). The sheer detail and feature sets are amazing. It's a singleplayer game with the benefit of multiplayer, unlike many games which are the reverse. This is crucial, as many modern games trend toward the opposite. The graphics are, to put it less than eloquently, "HAWT." Controls are fluid and very deep (the sheer volume of actions/interactions is staggering). This is a STORY-DRIVEN game, someting that this generation of games is often lacking imo. I haven't seen this much emphasis on this all-too crucial aspect since Lost Odyssey. The soundtrack is at times haunting and always appropriate, really accentuating the experience. The campaign is lengthy and rich. Warning, if you're not a fan of excessive cutscenes, you may be put off by MGS4 (although you CAN skip them). I for one love the game for this reason. There are so many little details that cater to the player's enjoyment, such as the ability to play music in-game on your virtual ipod, the songs and extras scattered here and there, and the inside humor. Even if you're unfamiliar with the series (I have experience only with the first Metal Gear Solid game) it's definitely worth a purchase. This is a system-seller plain and simple. Every gamer who calls themself as such should own it. The first truly next-gen does not disappoint. Snakes last dance must be experienced.

Pros:

+Very satisfying story

+Incredible voice work

+Incredible cinematics

+Eagle eye attention to detail

+A lot of gameplay elements

+Memorable Music Soundtrack

Cons:

-Long cutscenes. To the point where you feel more like you're watching than playing. This goes a long way as you'll play for five seconds to be treated to cutscenes several minutes long

-Some load times are really annoying

-The Camera can sometimes be a pain

After three and a half long years of waiting, Metal Gear Solid 4 finally drops down on the Playstation 3. With a lot of questions to answer and some mighty big shoes to fill, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily one of the most anticipated video games ever made. For the Metal Gear fan, the game is absolutely fantastic. Continuing an already mesmerizing story, Metal Gear Solid 4 proves to be one of this generations greatest games.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the conclusion to Snake's story. The game is told through some gorgeous cutscenes. There's a lot of detail to the characters faces, their actions and it has some fantastic voice acting to boot. You'll want to grab some popcorn, though, because there are definitely a lot of cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 4, and some of them are really long. This is easily the biggest problem with Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's one that has often plagued the series. While the cutscenes are very dramatic and well written, and while they even shed some humor, some of them are just too long, some of them seeming almost useless. If a cutscene is getting a little long, though, it would be a grave mistake to skip it as you might miss some important parts of the story. And if there's any Metal Gear Solid game one should be playing for its story, it's this one. The other big problem with the cutscenes is how they come at you, even early on. There are moments where you'll play for a matter of seconds only to be sit through a cutscene that's several minutes long. At the very least, you can pause the game during the cutscenes. However, it's hard to get over the fact that some of them really drag on. When you get to play the game, though, Metal Gear Solid 4 is amazing.

Metal Gear Solid has always been about stealth. The same is true of Guns of the Patriots. The difference being that you're also in the middle of a war and there are two sides fighting against one another, the PMCs and Militia. You're able to help the militia and doing so can have its rewards, such as characters being willing to give you items or being able to go through certain areas more easily. Although, you can also turn the Militia against you.

There have been some improvements to sneaking around, though. The camouflage system has returned but it's much better. Rather than having to go into the menu constantly, Snake's camo will change automatically to blend in with the environment and help him evade enemies. You can also hold up enemies just like before, only this time you can perform body searches while holding them up rather than having to shake them down. You can also restrain them to the ground to knock them out. If you really need to get by an enemy and you're running out of options, you can always play dead. This also works when you get spotted and knocked down by an enemy.

There's also the implementation of the Solid Eye. This is more vital to sneaking around than anything. It works very similar to the radar in Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, showing you how much noise you or your enemy is making. Also new to here is the threat ring. The threat ring surrounds Snake at all times and will begin to act up depending on how close an enemy is to him. All of these seem like they'll take forever to get used to, but you'll quickly adapt. Just like previous games in the series, if you're spotted, you'll have to escape from the enemy and hide.

There are also moments where you can take control of a Metal Gear Mk II, a very small version of Metal Gear that is controlled by Snake. This little guy allows Snake to scout out the area ahead. You can also use the Metal Gear Mk II to stun certain enemies.

Lastly, Snake has a psyche gauge. This is very similar to the stamina gauge in Metal Gear Solid 3. The gauge depletes depending on how stressed or exhausted Snake is. You can refill this by eating certain snacks like Rations or Noodles, but you can also refill it by resting for a while. But there are plenty of factors that affect Psyche. For example, if Snake has been in the sun too long, you'll have to move him into the shade. If he's been in cold water, you'll have to get him out of it. As his psyche gauge gets lower it becomes harder for him to perform certain actions, such as being able to aim properly. In other words, from time to time Snake will need to rest. Though there are also certain points in the game where his psyche gauge is restocked automatically.

You won't always be in stealth mode forever, though. There will be times when you have to fight, and the shooting mechanic works much better in Metal Gear Solid 4. When you're thrust into combat, the game plays very similar to a third person shooter. Allowing for more precise aiming and no longer forcing you to go into first person view to land a well placed shot. There's also a weapon shop where you can purchase, upgrade or customize weapons to your liking, another element that works to your liking and gives Metal Gear a lot of customization.

All this variation in gameplay means that Metal Gear Solid 4 has several different ways to approach it. Combine it's various gameplay elements with a selection of difficulty levels to up the challenge, and Metal Gear Solid 4, like the three before it, becomes a game you'll want to replay again and again. Sometimes it's just fun to mess around with your enemies or just to see how else you can go about a certain area.

Visually, Metal Gear Solid 4 is incredible to look at. There's a ton of detail in the environment, and the atmosphere is also a good one. You're very much immersed in the world of Metal Gear Solid 4. There are a couple of load times that can be annoying, especially the installation. The camera, while it's great, can sometimes be a pain. It's easy to control, but sometimes you'll find yourself fighting with it.

Music wise, there's a memorable score to Metal Gear Solid 4. There's a lot of voice work as well. Much of it is great, although at times you will get the feeling that some of the voice actors and over-acting. On the whole, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a beautiful looking, (and sounding) game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is an amazing experience. If you can handle lengthy cutscenes you'll be satisfied with the final results. If you can handle a couple of annoying load times, you'll be satisfied. The amount of gameplay here is incredible, and the fact that there are so many ways to go about each area is also a lot of fun. For Metal Gear fans, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily the reason to own a Playstation 3.

Gameplay 4/5

As any DW fan will notice, dw6 replaced the old combo system with the new Renbu system. You can essentially mash square and attack forever. They changed it a little from DW6, since now Renbu doesn;'t decrease overtime, and is dependant on weapon level. Also, the numerous Imbueings and Special Attacks you can stick onto a weapon add another level of depth entirely, and I perfer this to random drops any day. The combat styles range from narrow, low-body count motions to wide area base-clearing sweeps, allowing custom officers to be made as anything from a duelist to a master of one against many.

Graphics 3/5

I noticed right off that the quality of peons had decreased from DW6. The officer quality remains the same. I noticed later that this was to cram more characters into every level. For instance, I struggled to get 500KO in DW5E before any battle ended, but here I average 1200 or so.

Sound 3/5

I enjoy the empires feature to select your own BGM from almost any song from a previous DW game. However, the horrible Enlgish voices return yet again, making you wish for the Japanese voice option, or making you glad to set voice volume to 0.

Replayability 3/5

Replayability is the highest of any DW to date for me. Largely due to the initially frustrating fact that officer stats do NOT carry over from one play through to the next. Instead, you get clear points, which can be used to allow carry over of weapons, horses, and starting off with bonus gold or items. Once I played through twice, I found this enhances the raplayability for me. Also, there are numerous pieces of edit officer clothes to unlock by completing missions and playthroughs.

Overall 4/5

My favorite DW title to date. Best edit officer feature in my opinion. Love it!

All in all, I am pleased with the latest installment of DW:Empires. In fact, I enjoy playing it more than the original DW6. I would like to see some more innovation, but all in all, it's a fun title that should have had better bells and whistles.

The Good:

The combat system. I love the renbu system. I can't imagine why someone wouldn't like it. I still can pull off the combos from previous games, but now I can continually attack. What's not to like?

Some of the power attacks are positively hilarious as well. I really like Meng Huo pulling up trees and giant mushrooms(???) to attack his enemies with.I'm also happy that Liu Bei has finally become such a power house.

The music is awesome. Not only are you treated to the tracks from DW6, but you get a HUGE selection of tracks from the previous games. All of them have the chinese ancient wailing guitars you have become familiar with, and I love it. Moreover, you can choose to listen to any piece of music at any time. Great nostalgia, and fun grooves as well.

This game fixes many of the problems from previous "Empires" games. One of the biggest problems with the previous games was that it was too easy to form alliances. Strategies are now based solely on the officers you currently have, and if you lose the officer, you lose the strategy. More could (and should) have been done here, but overall, the game is more fun to play, with both an "officer" and a "ruler" mode.

The Bad:

Unfortunately, "Empires" fixes NONE of the problems from "DW6". The graphics are still lame, the map is way too small to explain some of the intricate passageways and whatnot, and Jiang Wei, Pang De, Zhu Rong, Da Qiao and Zuo Ci are still missing (among others, possibly). I hate KOEI's insistence of cutting things back in titles (look at the "evolution" of the RTK series). But the worst offender has to be the camera. It is just awful in this one, which is a shame, since the game itself moves at an incredible pace. It's a shame to lose sight of an enemy because the camera suddenly gives you a sky view, for whatever reason.

Moreover, while this rendition of "Empires" fixes some of the previous problems, it introduces a lot of new ones as well. Some strategies are grossly overpowered (Sun Quan can play a strategy which insures that he is never, ever attacked).

The uninspired:

The trophies are a joke. You can get all of them in a matter of hours. I don't care much trophies, but you should have to work for something.

This PS3 controller fits perfectly into your hands, has built in grips, syncs very fast, has no lag at all, and looks even cooler up close than in the picture! I own both this and the classic Sony dual shock controller... and, in my opinion, this one is so much better.

Ok at first I thought these were awesome didn't come with the usb cable (no big deal) or much of any instructions how to sync. But common sense prevailed in just hooking up the unit to the PS3 with usb cable and powering on the PS3. Then turn on the controller and voila... synched.

After charging (which was unusually super fast) first use everything seemed excellent. Tested with Demon's Soul movement seemed a bit chunky but ok when in a safe area but after going into actual gameplay the lack of precision and some delay was obvious. The D pad, colored right, L/R 1 2 3 buttons are fine the precision in the joysticks is where the problems are somewhat obvious. At times they seemed fine but more likely your pan views (right joystick) would move at 20-30 degree chunks (not smooth at all) and in combat, this is bad... very bad. The left joystick the character would almost always jog and you had to REALLY try hard to barely move it in order to get the player to WALK. Buzzkill on the super high reviews. No way I'm playing Demon's soul or any shooter with this controller. I have to figure out if I'm returning these or just letting the kiddos use them so they don't kill my SONY PS3 controllers.

Build quality is great, I'd give 4 stars... playability is where it's really bad.

Controller has a great feel with no dead spots. I like the size and feel better than the DualShock controllers. Battery life is great.

Synced with the PS3 quickly with no issues.

Also, when plugged into a PC, the controller worked with most of my games I had on Steam. I didn't try to pair it via bluetooth to my PC.

The only complaint I have is that I can't charge it using my controller charging cradle.

It provides a little bounce to my controller if I drop it. It fits very snug with none of it being loose at all.

I have this skin on my gold controller (Saint's Row colors) with the KontrolFreek FPS Freek Havoc analog stick extenders (I liked the design and like that it adds some length to the analogs, increasing my accuracy in shooting games). With the analog stick extenders I have, the skin makes it feel weird playing games that makes you move a lot. The analog sticks rub the skin. Once you get used to the skin being on there, then it is a lot better, but it takes a bit to get used to.

However, as a girl gamer, maybe I'm just being a bit too conservative against this silicone skin protector. I do realise that my circumstance (with the KontrolFreek analog sticks) is a very special circumstance, but even that aside, I would rate this skin 3/5 stars. Good for the money!

I just received the Forza 4 Playseat and a Forza 4 Fanatec wheel and the CSR Elite pedals. I was very disappointed to find that neither the steering wheel or the pedals fit the playseat. Given that the description clearly states that they are compatible and that the Fanatec and the seat are Forza 4 special edition, they should work together, right? Even more disappointing is that I tried to get customer service from playseat.com and they told me that they are only resellers. They would not tell me how to contact the actual playseat people to get this fixed. All they would really need to make it work is a plate with holes at the right place for the steering wheel. It is possible to drill holes yourself to make it work but with the seat selling for $500 and the wheel for $250, I don't expect to have to drill holes to make it fit. Worse is the pedals. The plate for the pedals is to short by several inches. There is no way with the current plate to attach the CSR pedals securely to the the seat. I guess I could buy a piece of metal myself, cut it and drill all the wholes. Again, unexpected for that kind of price. Another thing I didn't like is that the playseat.com people told me that they know about the problem and are planning to sell a plate for the pedals that will work sometimes in mid-2012 (6+ months after it came out). I don't think I should have to buy an extra plate and I don't think they should advertise this playseat is compatible with the Fanatec wheel or pedal. I wonder what Microsoft thinks of this; they licensed this playseat and the Fanatec wheels and pedals, they should work together out of the box. Unless you are pretty handy at fabricating plates and drilling holes in metal, you probably should not buy this product.

As far as the solidity of the product, it also was not up to expectations. The post that holds the steering wheel doesn't feel very solid and the parts don't fit well together. The adjustments for the steering wheel are very limited. The post is angled up at a sharp angle so if you need the steering wheel farther from you, it also goes up a lot. I'm not sure I'll be able to make this work without having the steering wheel right at eye level. Also, the piece that holds the pedals feels very loose and unstable. I'm not sure how it will hold up whenever I get the pedals installed with a custom-made plate.

On the positive side, the seat itself has a nice feel to it.

Edited on 01/11/2012: I received the updated plates for the wheel with two points to mount to the column (steering mounts to the plate, plate mounts to the column). Mounting with the bolts is more solid than the table mounts that I originally had to use. There are three points to mount the plate to the seat column. When using the Fanatec mount points, you can only use the closest and middle mount points. Should be good for most people unless you are very tall. I'm 6' and it's an OK fit (would be nice if I could have the wheel lower and further). Because the wheel is too high, I can't use my Kinect (not sure how good that really is). You will need to buy two 30mm M6 screws to install the wheel, the 20mm screws provided are not long enough.

I also wanted to confirm that the seat itself feels very solid. The pedal mounts feel more solid than I originally thought they would, even with two mount points instead of four. The only weak point is the steering column, it could use some reinforcement. Despite my initial disappointments, I have to admit that playing Forza 4 with this seat, the wheel and pedals is a lot of fun and I would buy this setup again. I just wish it would have worked out of the box or that getting support would have been easier. Speaking of that, if you are in the US, make sure you get in touch with people at playseatamerica.com; that made all the difference. I wonder why the playseat.com people didn't redirect me to the American branch. Bumping my review from a 2 to a 4.

Fanatec CSR Elite Steering Wheel:

Initially when I received this product the steering wheel plate was not pre-drilled for Fanatec steering wheels. However, after some research on this, I found out that Playseat were working on getting the correct wheel plates and are sending it out to any customers that require it so that the customer does not have to drill the holes themselves. This is at no charge to the customer. You can find out more from Playseats web site or their Facebook page.

I received the new pre-drilled plate and it lined up perfectly to my CSR Elite wheel (using the angle brackets included with the wheel). The only thing is that they only pre-drilled two holes (one for each side) instead of four holes. They told me this is by design and it is sufficient. Upon my testing, the two holes was indeed sufficient to hold down the CSR Elite wheel without any issues.

The only gripe is I wish the position of the wheel was a bit more adjustable as I would prefer it a little futher outward without having to raise it up the post as high. Also once the CSR Elite wheel is mounted, the bolts under it will prevent you from mounting the plate to the 3rd furthest point. So you only have the first two distance points to mount the plate down. Other than the distance of the wheel, the angle is just right for my particular wheel and has a fairly stable feel.

Fanatec CSR Elite Pedals:

The CSR Elite pedals mounted up fine as well. Note that you are supposed to use either the two top holes or the two bottom holes for the pedal mounts. I built my own bracket so that I can utilize all four mounts on the pedals however, before that I had just the two top mounts and it was fairly sufficient. I wanted it wobble free so I built my own brackets to mount behind the Playseat plate giving me mounts for all four holes.

Seat:

The seat is very comfortable however the synthentic leather on the cushion does make a rubbing noise. It's nice they added a spring bottom for added comfort.

Putting it together:

I found the instructions sufficient to put the seat together. It's no harder than following instructions for furniture, etc. Just follow the pictures and assemble it with the tools included.

Adjustability:

Steering wheel: I already mentioned above that I there was better ability to adjust the plate forward.

Pedals: The adjustable angle of the pedal plate is a great addition to position the pedals at the perfect angle.

Pedal distance: The quick release latch works great to move the pedals further or closer to the seat. No more knobs to turn.

Seats: You can't adjust the seats, they are stationary and does not move, similiar to real racing buckets. For home use, having the ability to adjust the backrest would have been great however for me the seats are fairly comfortable in it's current position.

Build quality:

From what I can see, everything is fairly well built from what looks to be powder coated steel parts. There's no rough edges in the metal work.

Customer Service:

Customer service was very responsive and quickly addressed my concerns with the pre-drilled mounting plate for Fanatec wheels.

Overall:

The seat is fairly well built and comfortable however the price is a bit expensive when compared to other options out there. At this price range, the shifter mount should be included instead of being optional. However, warning they do not have a Fanatec compatible shifter mount yet. I hear it should be coming soon though.

Overall I'm giving this 5 stars because the seat is comfortable, "now" compatible with all my gear, fairly adjustable, and excellent customer service support.

I ordered this playset as slighlty used, but it came as new and I absolutely love it.

If you have a steering wheel for gaming and you don't have a chair to mount it to, your wasting your time. Just stop and go back to drawing pictures of race cars with crayons. Get a Logitech G27, this chair, gear-holder, PS3 and GT5 and you have an amazing home arcade set-up.

The Playseat is like sliding into your favorite carthe chair is comforatable, adjustable and sturdy enough to drive like you how you'd like to drive if their were no speed limits.

Thanks Playseat! You have a great product here.

I purchased this seat to use with a Fanatec CSR elite wheel and pedal set. I was initially disappointed by the lack of proper wheel mount plate but a quick email to customer support and the update plate was in the mail. The seat setup was easy using the supplied instructions. Was up and running in no time. The seat is comfortable and I find the wheel hight adjustments perfect.

The look and feel of the seat is quality and with the addition of the CSR Elite wheel and pedals looks ready to race!

I'm a huge Guitar Hero fan. The design of this product is fantastic. But the responsiveness is where it sucks.

Let me explain why. It will work great for people on Easy and Medium. But when it comes to Hard and Expert, it will not be very willing to cooperate. The guitar uses a 2.4Ghz wireless USB dongle instead of the PS3's built-in Bluetooth (Great, I have to search for it if I lose it). If you have to strum up and down on fast sections, it will not register some of the notes. I can get over 600,000 points on Through the Fire and Flames on Expert on the Wii version of this game, but I can get only around 400,000 with the PS3 version using this guitar (Yes, I'm serious, I'm an expert player). It always doesn't register a note on the Intro during my 2-hand tapping and I have strum again to get back on the hammer-on and pull-off path. When I have to strum up and down on fast sections, it won't register some of the notes. (Wow, I wonder why this is getting so many 5 star reviews.)

If you plan to play on Easy and Medium the whole time, this guitar is ok. But if you plan to play on Hard or Expert, then I recommend finding a different guitar.

I have the GHWT kit and needed an extra axe. I picked up the Legends of Rock Slash les paul double guitar/game set.

The guitar is shorter than the stock GH guitar so playing it while sitting is painful because its too short for an average sized adult. It feels like your playing a child's toy.

The action is rough and laggy due to the sloppiness in the strum bar. The stock GH-WT guitar is beautiful compared to this guitar with the slider on the neck and the crisp quiet strum bar that is so much more responsive and quick to recover during fast strumming.

I really thought this product would be of better quality. With the Gibson name on the head I guessed Gibson quality would shine throughout, I was sad to learn this was not the case.

I'll be selling both les pauls on ebay and looking for a new guitar.

It took Red Octane to much time to get their act together and sell an unbundled Les Paul Guitar controller but they finally did. Guitar works great and I have not noticed any interference between the two guitars when playing multi-player. The addition of a second guitar makes this game even more fun.

Amazon also sells this controller $10 cheaper than if you buy it directly from Red Octane. The order process through Amazon was also outstanding. I paid for two day shipping and got the controller one day after placing the order. Great work Amazon and better late than never Red Octane!

Mostly good things to say about this racquet:

The MOVE controller snaps and stays safely in the base.

Good rubber grip on the handle on the half that's not the MOVE itself.

Well balanced.

About 18" long so watch the ceiling and/or the ceiling fan when you serve.

Easy to assemble with 3 screws that seem to keep the 2 plastic halves solidly together.

On the box, it claims 'compatibility' with Grand Slam Tennis 11, Racquet Sports and Virtua Tennis 4 but I just used it with the newly-released Top Spin and it worked great.

All MOVE buttons EXCEPT for the START and SELECT can be accessed easily. For those 2 you need either long nails or slim fingers but they are not frequently accessed buttons and you don't usually need them during actual gameplay so it's only a minor fault.

I am happy with this accessory and I would recommend it to anyone who plays MOVE tennis games.

I got this racquet for a more realistic game experience. Within 1 week, it snapped and broke just from the force of serving!! Waste of my hard earned money!

Read Best Reviews of PlayStation Move Premium Tennis Racquet Here

The racquet is very well constructed, and has a nice feeling in your hand. Playing tennis on the ps3 with a racquet is much better than using only the move control. All that being said, this racquet has a serious problem. The orientation is wrong, by 90 degrees!! I have all four tennis games for the ps3 (grand slam 2, top spin 4, Virtua Tennis 4 and sports champions 2), and SC2 is by far the best implementation for the move control. There is a 1 to 1 replication of your moves, and you can see the position of the racquet clearly on the screen. This racquet is 90 degrees off, and it does not work as expected when hitting the ball. The best way to test this is in the practice court (during the early matches in championship). I manage to drill some hole in it, and insert the move control in the correct position, but this is annoying. On the other hand, the tennis racquet in the PlayStation Move 14 in 1 Pack, which I also have, has the correct orientation, although the quality is much lower.

Want PlayStation Move Premium Tennis Racquet Discount?

I have been playing Grand Slam Tennis 2 since the day it came out and when I saw this racquet/move holder, I ordered it right away. The control you have over the ball in this game in amazing. Top spins, slices, drops, lobs, you can hit inside out back hands and smashes that go 25 rows deep. You also control the spin, speed and direction of your Serves with the move controller. I thought adding this racquet/move holder would make the game more fun. It doesn't. Unless of course you've never played before, then I could see this item enjoyable. According to the item Specs, it only weighs 1.6 pounds, but after playing for months with the ultra light weight Move controller, once i added the Premium Racquet, it became so cumbersome, it was not manageable. Swings take longer, and you need a lot more space if you're playing doubles, unless you want to take your partners head off. Again, I think this is a great idea, but if you have played this game, then you know how fast the net volley exchanges are and how little time you have to react and return serve. I'll be giving this away as a gift, most likely to somebody I don't like so much. Thanks
