This stand is very reliable and durable for its price. What i liked most about it is the color it is the exact color of the PS3 Slim. i saw many other ones out there but they are not the same color as the console and they cannot compare to this price. This is truly a great PRODUCT!

Considering this is a unofficial brand PS3 stand I really happy with the quality. It has a hardened rubber feel to the exterior. Which I really like compared to your usual hardened plastic stand. The PS3 fits pretty snugly into it too. Doesn't wobble at all, despite the lack of a locking mechanism. The simple rubbery finish also helps it match the PS3 very well. I'd highly recommend this stand if you're looking for alternatives to the horrible nyco stand being offered in places like Bestbuy.

This game is certainly not meant for young children as the puzzle difficulty is very high, even when set to easy. It's fine for children to watch though just like the show, this game is family-friendly.

Overall, a great game, I just wish that it were a proper 3D game and not side-scrolling. There are a few moments here and there where the logic of the side-scrolling game conflicts with the 3D environment that is displayed. Other than that though, no complaints. The graphics are quite good, not the best out there but still very good, and the story line and gameplay are enjoyable, immersing, and intellectually challenging, just like Doctor Who should be. My personal favorite puzzle is 'sonicing' doors to open them, you feel like the Doctor doing it.

The shipping was extremely fast considering I live on the west coast of the United States and this game was coming from the UK. It came within 12 business days, when the shipping was predicted to take between 15 and 18 days.

Great product, my sister and I love Doctor Who and the co-op is so much fun. Lots of puzzles. It works on US consoles even though it's a UK game.

This game got mixed reviews on some sights. But we really liked it. My daughter is a HUGE Doctor Who fan. She loved the game because she knows every character in it. I have never seen Dr. Who but I thought it was a very fun game when I played with her. I loved that it was a 2 player game and that you have to work together to solve the puzzles and move up levels. We felt it was challenging even on the "easy" level. We loved that it had puzzles to solve and that it was not just a "running and shooting things game" . I would definitely recommend this game. Shipping from this company was great. I was worried that I would not get it in time for Christmas since it was coming to the US from the UK but it arrived super fast :-)

Got this since im a huge fan of the show ... Little disappointed as a game goes thought it would be more of a free world or 3d maps not a scroll-er

My wife and I love everything The Doctor. This two player game, while frustrating at times, is a blast. The puzzles are a bit tricky, but the graphics, actor voice overs and plot really make this a fun adventure. Probably about half way done with this game, when is the next one due out? No compatibility problems with my NTSC PS3 for the U.S.

If you're a fan of NIS games then you already know what you'll be getting from this game: convoluted battle and growth systems, average (to put it nicely) graphics but unique artistic style and a narrative that only anime fans will get any enjoyment out of. The game stars two characters: Nine, a sword wielding knight who focuses on physical damage and Aisha, a mage who, predictably, specializes in spells. To be sure there are some positives that make this a worthwhile game. The battle system, while somewhat complicated at first, is rewarding once the right combos for an enemy are discovered and saved. Essentially each enemy body part is listed as a potenital target and it's up to the player to hit them in the right order to trigger "bingos" and combos. Hitting the right body parts will "tatoo" that monster and make it ripe to be hit for extra spell damage. Thankfully the game allows you to save discovered combos as templates for later use, negating the need to memorize combos for a given enemy. It's worth mentioning that the game has a fun strategic wrinkle to it in the form of switching between Nine and Aisha mid-battle. Deciding who to attack with first in order to finish the battle as quick as possible is definitely a strength of the combat system as it leads you to try out different tactics even during routine level grinding battles (you'll be doing plenty of that). As far as I'm concerned any game that can make grind battles even remotely interesting isn't all that bad. If you can make it past the cliche ridden narrative (something about two warring gods and Nine wanting revenge for his murdered father), PS2-era graphics, and the truly laughable voice acting then Last Rebellion can be an enjoyable game.

Run. Run far away.

To be blunt, Last Rebellion is the most unmemorable, tedious, frustrating, empty, shallow, and downright painful RPG I've played in quite a few years. Even for major fans of the genre or imported titles from NIS, I couldn't possibly recommend this. One bit of (somewhat) good news is that the pain will end in about 15 hours of total play, and I was done with all content and had a Platinum trophy in less than 20. The target audience for this game is typically accustomed to needing ten times that commitment (or more) to "100%" an RPG; Disgaea or GUST titles being good examples. Most of my 20 hours felt like a forced march-the plot resolution is practically handed to you only a few hours in and lacks any true surprises or twists. Battles are little more than time-consuming walls working against trying to complete the game as quickly as possible.

There are a few more positive things that show that game had some kind of potential that simply went lazily untapped. Its core story concept provides a rather clever solution and answers the proverbial gaming dilemma of "what if your main character dies in the opening scene?". The runaround is the basis for the battle system, which, as being played out on a 3D-view field (more seen in ATB battle games), is a refreshing change in a more tactical or turn-based JRPG. Graphics are finally fully rendered and no longer the well-worn (but loved) dot matrix character models. World movement is also in the style of an adventure game as is typical in most RPGs, but is again something new for the type. Personally, I found battle incredibly tedious and repetitive fairly quickly, but I can see how it could allow some creativity. I really wish I could add more into the list of "good things", I truly am sorry.

Characters are unremarkable, shallow, and number about 5 in total. The fairly attractive attempt at the 3D world is harshly contrasted by truly appalling 2D character pop-ups in dialogue scenes. Even the dialogue interface is frustrating... menus and pop-up windows are slow to load and scroll, and text seems to draw itself at snail's pace. Great patience is required, despite this sounding like a total contradiction to a 15-20hr max playtime. Sorry, but there's no specific player I could suggest play this game. Even as an avid player of NIS titles and all sorts of RPGs, I'd have preferred dental work. As I said above, at least it's an easy 100% trophy set...

Brief Summary : Last Rebellion is a good example of a game that had a good idea, but failed in the execution. I can think of no better description than that cliche. I only recently started playing the game and am in the 2nd half after only a few hours (less than 10), but I wanted to write a review while my opinions are fresh in mind.

Good

--------

+ The illustrations / art is nice. Still, hand-drawn images are shown when characters talk (like most NIS games), and I find the style and quality to be good.

+ It's a short game. I haven't finished, but I know where I am in the overall story. This is only a good point because the game overall is not so good.

Bad

----

+ Voices-particularly the main male protagonist (Nine) and his brother, and a few other minor characters. A bit too effeminate and the fact he whines a lot compounds the issue. Aisha's (the woman on the cover) voice is fine.

+ Combat. First, I will say I am fine with turn based fighting. In fact, I prefer it over action. When reading about the system, I initially thought something like Legend of Legaia, but that isn't the case. In Last Rebellion, each monster has up to about 10 target points that you select to strike. The only EFFICIENT way to kill them is to find the correct order for hitting all these points. If I remember my math correctly, we're talking 10! (factorial) combinations (10x9x8x7...) for a 10 location monster (3.6 million combinations). Of course you're likely to figure it out in much less attempts, but it's a slog that just isn't very fun. As I mentioned in the title, I had Gamefaqs handy, and use that as my guide for getting through combat quickly, but some encounters randomize the values so you have to figure it out on your own.

In most cases for me, combat has not taken too long, thankfully. And although it's certainly DIFFERENT than most RPGs, I don't think it ADDS quality or FUN. It's also a chore that you have to "seal" every monster you take down, so they don't rise again fully healed and stronger.

Finally, your actions are limited by CP. A sort of action point system that is used up by the number of locations you strike and spells you cast, items used, etc. It's less troublesome once you've leveled a bit, but I'm still having to Heal my CP regularly to enable myself to fully act.

+ Monsters Respawn Too Fast. Doesn't take long for a monster to respawn. You can see them on the map when you move around and I've killed one, only to have it spawn behind me again and chase me down within barely a few seconds.

+ 0 XP for low monster kills. Once you're a few levels above a monster, you don't get XP for killing them. But they still attack you and make you go through the combat ritual. I leveled quickly and have not had to grind at all. In every zone, I'll end up eventually getting 0 XP for combat before I've finished with that area. Not ALL encounters, but some. Just feels like a waste of time.

+ No point allocations or skill selections. Perhaps I am old school, but I like to allocate a point or choose a new skill, or in some way effect the growth of my character. Although you level up in this game, you can't do any of that. Your HP goes up, your CP goes up, and your MP too. But that's about it. Negative point for me, but maybe not for others.

Other

-------

There are other aspects of the game that I think people will have issue with that don't bother me as much. Many comment on the graphics of the game, but I don't have a problem with that at all. To me, gameplay is the most important-if the game is fun, I can forgive just about anything else. A good story can help too, but unfortunately the story here is fairly bland and uninspiring. Nine's remarks come off as whining and annoying. He's not a likable guy. Perhaps with a better voice the sarcasm could have been portrayed better.

I'm really not sure what the point is of having so many degrees of the same spell in the same area. You can literally upgrade your magic 2-3 times in the same area (you find your spells in chests) and then apply "paper" to those spells up to max 5 to determine what MAX level you want that spell at for any point in time. You can reassign the paper as needed so if you know there is a monster weak to Axes, like the Trolls, you can raise that spell to 5 in order to cast the strongest level of that spell in combat.

Overall

--------

Everyone has different tastes. Maybe there are some gamers out there who will enjoy the game, but I think the majority will not. Or not REALLY enjoy it anyway. If you really want to try it, go for a rental or perhaps a $5 price point.

This is a game that could have been a great game, but unfortunately it has some gaping flaws that keep it down.

The good things: A unique combat system that is extremely fun most of the time. A decent storyline (that you can skip through if you don't want to watch it). Nice art and production values.

The bad things: Maybe 20 hours of game time, and that's with a fair amount of level grinding (which is necessary). Absolutely zero replay value beyond that 20 hours, no post play, no reason to go through it again. And "paralysis" type status effects that effectively shut you down in combat with no possible way to recover there's a cure paralysis spell, but no way to cast it!

If you like turn based battle and JRPG storylines, definitely pick this up if its at a bargain price, or better yet rent it.

A lot of people don't give this game a chance. Most give up when they turn on the game because they don't like the battle system, or they hate watching the cut scenes..but if you give it a chance you'll find that it's the easiest, fastest, and overall a fun game.

(Also it short, so keep that mind. With that being said, it's super easy to get the platinum trophy.. You could even get it in a day.)

I will start with the obvious, the game looks beautiful. The graphical

quality does not change between cutscenes and gameplay. Kojima and his team pulled out all the stops on the beauty of this game, as they have always striven to do.

SPOILER ALERT

Then there is the story. A lot of people harp on the Metal Gear Series because the story is full of twists. One person even said that the plot was twists and only twists. That person missed the point completely. Especially by the end of this game, it becomes apparent what Kojima had been pushing for. The message about humanity is clear... the MGS series has always been anti-war, anti-genetic determinism, anti-environmental determinism, every mistake that humanity has ever made with regards to war and control of the populous has been addressed in some way. Consider the history through which Kojima derives his inspiration. His home country of Japan experienced an apocalypse during WWII while causing an apocalypse in mainland Asia at the same time.

In all situations of war no matter who begins the fight or where it starts or ends, the young will repeat the mistakes of the old, and the old will let the knowledge gained from their mistakes slip away with death. Even the most heinous actions, deception, murder, are a means to an end, and the end is all that really matters.

SPOILERS OVER

Gameplay was spectacular. The MGS franchise is one of very few that has made significant gameplay improvements with every subsequent release. Control of Snake feels much more fluid, yet at the same time you can feel his age in the way he performs. Though he is more agile and powerful than the average human could ever be, he isn't quite the same old Snake. He is THE Old Snake.

Old Snake gets a lot of neat toys in this game, too. Most notably is his chameleon suit. If he lays flat, his suit will automatically adopt the pattern of the materials that are on the floor. By pressing the "triangle" button while up against a wall, he will adopt those coverings as well.

The second great toy is Drebin's shop. Drebin is a weapons launderer who gives Old Snake full access to replacement ammo and other supplies. ID Locked weapons can be converted to old-world weapons that do not require nanomachine permissions. There are A LOT of weapons in this game. First time through you probably won't get to experience all of them, and that is okay. Just check them out on your next run. The game is only about 10-15 hours long depending on how you choose to play. Also, through Drebin's shop Old Snake can modify his weapon. The first weapon, the M4 Custom is a good all-purpose weapon. It packs a decent punch and holds 30 rounds. It can be modded with a shotgun attachment, grenade launcher, or foregrip for stability. Laser sights and scopes can also be added to the M4 and other select weapons. So play around and have fun.

Toy #3 is the Metal Gear Mark II, Hal's minature Metal Gear Rex that is mostly harmless...mostly. When you need a buddy to turn the corner and remain unseen for you, Mark II can cast an invisibility cloak and make sure the coast is clear. If things get sticky, it has a shock wire function to incapacitate unsuspecting foes. The same tool can be used to knock on surfaces to distract your enemies and guide them away from Old Snake's true position. It is a neat little gadget that you may or may not find to be useful.

Next up, the enemies. In this game, it is impossible to hate the enemies you fight (except for Vamp) because they are amazing, flat-out. Whether they are GECKOS (bipedal beast machines), FROGS (all-female supersoldiers), or Private Military Company militia-men (remnants of their humanity will keep you grounded), or the Beauty and the Beast Corps (best enemies in of all time in videogames?), enemies are not just targets. Kojima and his crew made the enemies in this game characters to be admired. They neither have names nor faces, but they will f*** your day up very quickly if you do not respect their power. From the top down, they are all capable killers.

The humanity of this game lies within Snake's allies. Meryl, Eva, Hal, the Colonel, Mae Ling, Raiden, Rosemary, Naomi, and especially Sunny represent the other side of life. Old Snake is a manufactured product of war, the only life he has ever known. No machine can imitate or destroy the compassion that these individuals shared. This is passion. I won't go on, can't explain much else without major spoilers.

Gameplay, people, visuals, this game is stunning. Metal Gear Sold 4 exemplifies why videogames deserve to be celebrated as art. It has the story worthy of novel publishing, breath-taking visuals, engrossing music, and an all-around realism that we celebrate in paintings such as the Mona Lisa. If only more videogame producers put this much time and effort into a game. Production for perfection... long hours, perspiration, and inspiration to produce the culmination of one's efforts... that is art... this is art.

If you are a casual gamer, this is not for you. If you have never played the other MGS games, this is probably not for you. Play through MGS1-3 in order to get the story and gameplay straight, and then play MGS4.

For everyone who has been trying to compare this game to COD and HALO...come on. MGS4 is not a pure shooter. They put it nice and bold on the cover, "Tactical Espionage Action". That means be sneaky and use force only as needed. Play a "shooter" and judge other shooters with it. MGS4 is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a shooter.

Could this go down as one of the best games of all time? Absolutely. Game of the Year? For sure. It is in a league of its own. Nothing else plays like it. Few other games are as engrossed in the mystique of political/sci-fi conspiracy. Too few have such dedicated stories. In most games, the producer's passion is not as apparent. MGS4 had a 105 degree fever with Kojima's ardor for gaming perfection. The game feels like he and his team cared.

Hideo Kojima has done it again. MGS4 is the most detailed, convincing, and well-researched game I have ever played. It offers a compelling and imaginative glimpse into the future of high-tech warfare, a nuanced, intelligent storyline, vastly improved gameplay, and incredible graphics.

The metal gear franchise has always pushed the boundaries of what a game could be, and challenged the preconceptions of the audience. MGS4 starts out with, of all things, a short live action film about marine fauna. The in-game store discounts weapons (in real time) on wednesdays and sundays. These are just a few examples, but there are many more. The story has both the philosophical and political musings as well as the bizarre humor and one of a kind characters that fans expect.

The gameplay is more open and the action is more intense than in prior games. The environments seem much bigger and are bustling with npcs engaged in building to building warfare. Snake can join either side in the conflict or ignore them and sneak by. He has a ton of new weapons and gadgets as well.

The graphics are among the most impressive I have seen in a game. The characters are solid physical presences with subtle, lifelike facial expressions. The mechs move with an animal grace and hunt with a keen intelligence that belies their artificial construction.

Overall, the game is an experience that should not be missed by anyone with a PS3. If you don't already own a PS3, this game alone would justify its purchase. It is by far the most creative, original, and technically polished game to appear on the system to date.

Before I start... I do my fair share of gaming, but I'am by no means a very obsessive gamer. So I never really knew about Metal Gear Solid until I bought this game. I'm a huge fan of first person shooter games like COD, Resistance, etc. So I saw the ads and thought it was another military type shooting game so I went out and spent the $59.99 and got the game. I put the game into the PS3 and after about an 8 minute wait (becasue the game is so amazing that it needs time to load some stuff on to the PS, but you still need the disk to play the game!) the game started and I was completely blown away. I have played some really good games in my time and on many systems, but this has, by far, been THE best game that I have palyed on ANY system before. The quick down low on this game... the graphics... I give a 10/10. The detailing of the all the characters, the details on the machinery and the surroundings, it was awesome. The thing that made is so spectacular was the fact that the developers did put so much attention to the details that they did a very good job of simulating real life as best as possible. Another big pet peeve of mine is the acting of the characters in the game. I feel like it plays a big part in the gaming experience and people don't give it much credit. So for the acting another 10/10: the character voices fit the characters, and the voice acting was done superbly. The animation was also done extremely well, my only fuss about the animation is that you can't really read how the character is feeling by looking at thier face: the pretty much always put on the same face... but no game has ever done that really well either so I looked over that fact. Finally for game play I give 9/10. I give it such a "low" rating because quite frankly this game is a bit tough to get accustomed to (all though once you do... you're pretty much ready to kick some MAJOR BUTT). I guess a more crazy gamer would have managed to get all the controls down quickly... but for me it took me a while to figure out how to use all the controls. At first the menu that shows all your items, weapons, and an array of other things was very difficult to figure out. Once you got past that you had to actaully figure out how to use the items, weapons, etc. It took me the longest time to figure out how to use Med-packs... but that could also be due to my inabilities :-p. So basically thats why the gameplay is 9/10... overall its just a confusing interface to get used to, but once you do it gets very fun. Also the interactions in the game is awesome. Like the bad guys can figure out when you are there just by bascially seeing you (obviously), hearing you (also obvious), and smelling you (Yea... thats a new one on me too). So its really fun trying to sneak around all the levels w/o getting spotted... but fear not my first person shooter fans... there are thrills here for you too... if the baddies spot you, you're gonna' be pulling out some very nifty guns to shoot them: my fav. is the p90. Just before I end here, if you don't know about the Metal Gear Series (like myself) you won't really know what's going on in the game. In that sense it really sucks because you're just shooting and sneaking around w/o really knowing what's happening. The developers just assumed that you played previous versions so they just build on the stories of the last one's so you miss out a lot of the stories and things like that. But, I went on Wiki and basically read the story like a book so I was all set! And lastly (I promise this time) the game does feel like its more of a movie with some player interaction becasue the cut scenes are ridiculously long... so if you are'nt a cut scene type of person... you might not like this game. As for me.... I loved it!!!So basically this game is wicked fun and if you haven't bought it yet... you HAVE TO!!!!!

This is the first truly next-gen game to grace either console (PS3/360, the Wii is different). The sheer detail and feature sets are amazing. It's a singleplayer game with the benefit of multiplayer, unlike many games which are the reverse. This is crucial, as many modern games trend toward the opposite. The graphics are, to put it less than eloquently, "HAWT." Controls are fluid and very deep (the sheer volume of actions/interactions is staggering). This is a STORY-DRIVEN game, someting that this generation of games is often lacking imo. I haven't seen this much emphasis on this all-too crucial aspect since Lost Odyssey. The soundtrack is at times haunting and always appropriate, really accentuating the experience. The campaign is lengthy and rich. Warning, if you're not a fan of excessive cutscenes, you may be put off by MGS4 (although you CAN skip them). I for one love the game for this reason. There are so many little details that cater to the player's enjoyment, such as the ability to play music in-game on your virtual ipod, the songs and extras scattered here and there, and the inside humor. Even if you're unfamiliar with the series (I have experience only with the first Metal Gear Solid game) it's definitely worth a purchase. This is a system-seller plain and simple. Every gamer who calls themself as such should own it. The first truly next-gen does not disappoint. Snakes last dance must be experienced.

Pros:

+Very satisfying story

+Incredible voice work

+Incredible cinematics

+Eagle eye attention to detail

+A lot of gameplay elements

+Memorable Music Soundtrack

Cons:

-Long cutscenes. To the point where you feel more like you're watching than playing. This goes a long way as you'll play for five seconds to be treated to cutscenes several minutes long

-Some load times are really annoying

-The Camera can sometimes be a pain

After three and a half long years of waiting, Metal Gear Solid 4 finally drops down on the Playstation 3. With a lot of questions to answer and some mighty big shoes to fill, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily one of the most anticipated video games ever made. For the Metal Gear fan, the game is absolutely fantastic. Continuing an already mesmerizing story, Metal Gear Solid 4 proves to be one of this generations greatest games.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the conclusion to Snake's story. The game is told through some gorgeous cutscenes. There's a lot of detail to the characters faces, their actions and it has some fantastic voice acting to boot. You'll want to grab some popcorn, though, because there are definitely a lot of cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 4, and some of them are really long. This is easily the biggest problem with Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's one that has often plagued the series. While the cutscenes are very dramatic and well written, and while they even shed some humor, some of them are just too long, some of them seeming almost useless. If a cutscene is getting a little long, though, it would be a grave mistake to skip it as you might miss some important parts of the story. And if there's any Metal Gear Solid game one should be playing for its story, it's this one. The other big problem with the cutscenes is how they come at you, even early on. There are moments where you'll play for a matter of seconds only to be sit through a cutscene that's several minutes long. At the very least, you can pause the game during the cutscenes. However, it's hard to get over the fact that some of them really drag on. When you get to play the game, though, Metal Gear Solid 4 is amazing.

Metal Gear Solid has always been about stealth. The same is true of Guns of the Patriots. The difference being that you're also in the middle of a war and there are two sides fighting against one another, the PMCs and Militia. You're able to help the militia and doing so can have its rewards, such as characters being willing to give you items or being able to go through certain areas more easily. Although, you can also turn the Militia against you.

There have been some improvements to sneaking around, though. The camouflage system has returned but it's much better. Rather than having to go into the menu constantly, Snake's camo will change automatically to blend in with the environment and help him evade enemies. You can also hold up enemies just like before, only this time you can perform body searches while holding them up rather than having to shake them down. You can also restrain them to the ground to knock them out. If you really need to get by an enemy and you're running out of options, you can always play dead. This also works when you get spotted and knocked down by an enemy.

There's also the implementation of the Solid Eye. This is more vital to sneaking around than anything. It works very similar to the radar in Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, showing you how much noise you or your enemy is making. Also new to here is the threat ring. The threat ring surrounds Snake at all times and will begin to act up depending on how close an enemy is to him. All of these seem like they'll take forever to get used to, but you'll quickly adapt. Just like previous games in the series, if you're spotted, you'll have to escape from the enemy and hide.

There are also moments where you can take control of a Metal Gear Mk II, a very small version of Metal Gear that is controlled by Snake. This little guy allows Snake to scout out the area ahead. You can also use the Metal Gear Mk II to stun certain enemies.

Lastly, Snake has a psyche gauge. This is very similar to the stamina gauge in Metal Gear Solid 3. The gauge depletes depending on how stressed or exhausted Snake is. You can refill this by eating certain snacks like Rations or Noodles, but you can also refill it by resting for a while. But there are plenty of factors that affect Psyche. For example, if Snake has been in the sun too long, you'll have to move him into the shade. If he's been in cold water, you'll have to get him out of it. As his psyche gauge gets lower it becomes harder for him to perform certain actions, such as being able to aim properly. In other words, from time to time Snake will need to rest. Though there are also certain points in the game where his psyche gauge is restocked automatically.

You won't always be in stealth mode forever, though. There will be times when you have to fight, and the shooting mechanic works much better in Metal Gear Solid 4. When you're thrust into combat, the game plays very similar to a third person shooter. Allowing for more precise aiming and no longer forcing you to go into first person view to land a well placed shot. There's also a weapon shop where you can purchase, upgrade or customize weapons to your liking, another element that works to your liking and gives Metal Gear a lot of customization.

All this variation in gameplay means that Metal Gear Solid 4 has several different ways to approach it. Combine it's various gameplay elements with a selection of difficulty levels to up the challenge, and Metal Gear Solid 4, like the three before it, becomes a game you'll want to replay again and again. Sometimes it's just fun to mess around with your enemies or just to see how else you can go about a certain area.

Visually, Metal Gear Solid 4 is incredible to look at. There's a ton of detail in the environment, and the atmosphere is also a good one. You're very much immersed in the world of Metal Gear Solid 4. There are a couple of load times that can be annoying, especially the installation. The camera, while it's great, can sometimes be a pain. It's easy to control, but sometimes you'll find yourself fighting with it.

Music wise, there's a memorable score to Metal Gear Solid 4. There's a lot of voice work as well. Much of it is great, although at times you will get the feeling that some of the voice actors and over-acting. On the whole, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a beautiful looking, (and sounding) game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is an amazing experience. If you can handle lengthy cutscenes you'll be satisfied with the final results. If you can handle a couple of annoying load times, you'll be satisfied. The amount of gameplay here is incredible, and the fact that there are so many ways to go about each area is also a lot of fun. For Metal Gear fans, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily the reason to own a Playstation 3.

Positives

-Story continues exactly where WKC left off and it's a trilogy, 3rd one is on the way.

-Improvements on Graphic and voice acting

-More skills for all weapons

-A LOT more weapons and armors since max level is now 80.

-No more X button harass when searching for Ores/bugs/flowers etc. It gives you all the materials at once

-More GR quests and new Monster Bounty quests(these can be harder than final boss)

-Customize Knight for your avatar

-Data import from the 1st one is impressive. Includes all the mats, weapons, armors and georama layout

-Online mode! now up to 6 people in a party with Knight transformation

-Better AI for your companions

-Better AC,MP balance for your skills and combos

-Plenty of challenges towards the end of the game and after you've beaten the story mode. New game+ and you unlock a castle to test your strategy/skills.

Negatives

-Story mode environment. You get 1 more new town and 2 new initial & final dungeon but everything else is the same. You basically play through the towns & dungeons that you've already beaten on 1st one all over again. This was a huge let down.

-Errands(resident quests These suck, the reward is very good. Mostly, you just go around the world map and talk to different NPCs over and over again, nothing else. Just spend time running for 1hour to complete a few of them. Boring and annoying.

-No online mode for Bounty hunt and Otherworld(to get your avatar knight's equipment) I got excited to pull off something like capcom's Monster hunter online, but found out that it's offline only.

-Same towns and dungeons mean same monsters and same soundtrack...seriously.

I managed to beat the story mode without getting too boring because of new weapons, skills with more level ups and some cool cut scenes. But overall, it felt more like online grinding than an epic story mode.

I clocked in 270hours for the 1st one. Currently grinding and playing I'm at about 60+ hours on this one. There are plenty to do and plenty challenges. Nevertheless WKC saga is still among my favorite PS3 RPG with Demon souls. I give this one 4/5 for more improvements than negatives. Could have been 5/5 if they weren't so lazy to create more maps and dungeons and new monsters. Because it lacks those, Story mode feels like WKC1 with a good patch to fix bugs and better interface. But I know that online is a kick ass time with a friend or two... especially for being free.(no monthly fee)

I was a big fan of the original game when it came to the US last year and had been looking forwards to White Knight Chronicles II for a long time now.

Then, about two weeks before it came out, my PS3 died and I lost ALL of my game save files.

So, I was disheartened, and went to purchase a copy of the original again. Until the fellow selling it to me told me that White Knight Chronicles II actually came with a complete copy of the first game, remastered to the new graphics levels.

I was astounded to say the least.

So I brought it home and tore it open and started a new game of White Knight Chronicles I and let me tell you, the graphical difference is amazing. The texturing and shadows are far deeper and more detailed. The characters are more detailed and animated.

I have yet to get through even the first few missions of the first game, but had to post a review so that people know just how much effort the publishers put into this.

The game is amazing, pure and simple. I love the combat system, the graphics it is one of the VERY few old school RPG games to have come to the high definition systems. If you're a RPG fan who is on the fence on this one trust me, get it. It is well worth it and you can invest hundreds of hours, or just enough time to get through the plot.

It has something for everyone.

I really love RPGs, and there aren't enough of them on the PS3. WKC I/II both attempt to address that shortfall, but still leave me feeling unfulfilled. Don't misunderstand; I want to like the WKC titles. I really do. And I would, if it wasn't for the battle system. What's wrong with it? It is built in such a way that discourages the player from using all his available power during a battle. Think about it: If you are battling a group of monsters or even just one monster, you don't want to have to wait for another "Action Chip" to become available to you before you can unleash a powerful hit. Or, having finished a gnarly battle, you press onward to find yourself suddenly attacked by the level boss, requiring Leonard to fight. Leonard, having only 2 Action Chips, cannot transform into the White Knight. Yet, without the White Knight, there is no way to beat the boss and the party is defeated one member after another. Should Leonard actually survive long enough to earn the AC's needed to transform, by that point, his mana is certain to be running low, so the White Knight likely will vanish after a single attack, leaving Leonard and his party high and dry.

If the game didn't have the Action Chip mechanism, which doesn't do anything but slow down and hinder the party, it would be a great game worthy of more stars. I wish I could give it more.

White Knight Chronicles II has so far been an engrossing experience for me. I'm a big fan of Level-5 RPG games such as Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King and Dark Cloud -a big inspiration of this game. As a matter of fact, I was glad to see alot of Dark Cloud elements in this game. Sadly, they leave alot of the better elements.

One thing I'll get out of the way first though, is that WKC2 is a lot like FFXII. A fairly large and adventurous world map, pseudo-MMO feeling, and even a filler character (ironically, the character you create), leave this game feeling alot like Square's title in it's flagship series. As such, it carries alot of it's stigmas, and adds a bit more. For one, the story isn't that very well developed. Many people complain the story starts off in an odd position in the story, which just sounds like spiteful idiocy on their part. The game comes with both WKC1 and 2, therefore there should be no reason for someone to blame the developers for them not playing through the first game first. But the story overall feels cliched to death. The main objective is to save the princess, and our main character, one of the heroes, has fallen in love with her after...looking at her once? He even goes so far as to put his life in danger to protect her, while his childhood friend is lost (with you, thankfully). This alone was enough to show me that this story wasn't going to make as much sense as I hoped it would. Still, the story is fairly ok, leaves few plotholes, and the accompanying voice-acting is surprisingly well done.

On to the gameplay. The first game's slow and tedious combat system was revamped using the second game's system, making for a fuller, faster system overall. Just like FF12, it features an ATB gauge that fills before your character can act. A good design decision was not locking the skills. Unlike many RPGs, you don't have to be a White Mage to use Heal, or be a Barbarian to use an Axe. You can unlock the use of anything as long as you have the skill points to unlock it, again, a really good decision reminiscent of one of the better parts of FF12. The skills you unlock are set to a bar of 7 empty slots for you to use to command. There are 3 rows, and each can contain any skill you want, and you can use it as long as you have the required weapon equipped. The downside of this system is that it does not allow you to change what character you are using on the fly. You have to open the main menu, select the character submenu, and choose which character you want to switch to -all in real-time. This could have been better designed. Another disappointing but glaring fault is the rehashing of maps and monsters. WKC2 only introduces about 2 new areas and a few new monsters with those areas, which was just pure laziness on the dev's part.

Another part, which I'll step away of detailing in favor of time, is that only the second game offers a full online experience, but this game isn't online-based. Although the online is a big part of the game and adds alot of fun, I see it as just half of an already great game. It's sort of like a Monster Hunter game that has Monster Hunter 2, 3 and Frontier -2 and 3 are already great experiences and Frontier is a whole new experience. That said, the online in this game is fairly well designed and even has a similar style to GeoRama from Dark Cloud, so fans of that and MMO questing will love the online in this game.

The music is superb, especially during boss fights adding to the subtle level of epic in journeying across wide open fields or a great divide in the earth. That brings to me to the stunning visuals. It is a MUST to play this game using the HDMI output. The graphics are absolutely breathtaking with overworld models having textures as good as Uncharted 3. No exaggeration there, hands down beautiful scenery with a soundtrack to match, unfortunately also rehashed in WKC2, so not much new sounds to hear or sights to see.

There is alot more I could say, but much has already been said by other critical reviewers already. Overall, if you're a fan of RPG games and can deal with a few cliche'd characters in favor of a 200+ hour adventure spanning 2 (soon to be 3) games, with a creative battle system and breathtaking scenery, and isn't afraid of the daunting scope of this game, then it is definitely worth the price. (I got it for 11 bucks) You'll be shelling out 20 bucks on a great and beautiful homage to retro JRPG's, with quirky characters and a cringe worthy story, but you'll be enjoying it. If JRPG's aren't in your boat, then this game isn't for you.

While White Knight Chronicles 2 is a fun game, it has its flaws. Such as setting level caps before the final (non-Japanese) level cap of 80, forcing players to run through already explored areas just to pad the game time, and a steep learning curve.

Most of those flaws are forgivable.

Re-exploring areas? It's a good time to level up on the new enemies with higher levels.

The steep learning curve? Expectable for a Japanese RPG.

But what is NOT, and I repeat NOT, acceptable is D3 Publishers and Level 5 saying "eff you" to the rest of the world by focusing only on the Japanese gamers.

Being a veteran from White Knight Chronicles 1, I knew how to deal with disappointments from Level 5, such as the lack of patches. Over the 3 years that the game was out, we only received a handfull of patches, while the Japanese recieved a metric ton of patches. But I was not prepared for D3 and Level 5 to completely abandoning the non-Japanese market.

Not only did White Knight Chronicles 2 only received 1 patch, the guild system being ignored by Level 5, the promised DLC being cancelled for its non-Japnese players, but its non-Japanese servers are being shut down on June 18, 2013.

The online multiplayer was KEY to get to the non-Japanese level cap of 80. (Yes, the Japanese also got a bigger level cap and Guild Rank cap while the rest of the world didn't.) You needed other people to help you get your Guild Rank up, a system that only levels up by completing quests quickly and efficiently, but the whole charm from the game was its online community. The game had its own forums--IN THE GAME. People could log on and talk with others in a contained online community, but as of 6/18/13, that online community will cease to exist.

Without the help of others, the game is slow going, completing the same quest numerous times in order to level up your Guild Rank ONCE just to get rid of the level 35 level cap. Leveling up your Guild Rank was hard enough online, but without the multiplayer to help you out, don't expect to get to the level cap of 80 anytime soon.

The bottom line is, White Knight Chronicles 2 is an online game, and, soon, its online capabilities will no longer exist, making the game just an empty shell of its former self.

If you aren't Japanese DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

I still cannot believe that Endwar has such an amazing voice command system that will pick up on every order your give. You really should invest in the headset bundle to really understand for yourself. Another feature worth listing are the airstrikes and weapons of mass destruction you can call in through your headset to destroy multiple units at once. This game really is a break through in gaming and is worth the extra $$$ for the headset.

I've been playing RTS games since Warcraft 1. Over the years I've been amazed by improvements in physics and general multi player dynamics of the varying games. I own around 40 RTS games. The online side of this game has elements of Cave Dog's world system; you join one of 3 factions (and get a recruitment bonus if you side with a smaller one) and try to take over the world. The online play is not what makes the game though, the voice control is truly amazing... I mumble and it picks me up perfectly. I hope more games like this come out... this is the way a console RTS should be.

this game feels average and too basic, with all the basic infantry, armor, and airborne units. i do think that it was done on purpose to get a player like me to remember all the commands. too many units would be difficult. i have played the game, but i can't comment much because i only bought it for the headset. let me tell you this: it totally beats the $90 price tag at other stores. the ps3 bluetooth came in a bulk package in the box, but it works very well.

I'll be honest I bought this game to get the free headset, as cheap as it was in the Marketplace it seemed silly not to basically get a free game with the purchase of a headset. I tried the game out, at first thinking it would be a pain in the butt to learn everything since it is all done voice command. It's really quite easy, it walks you through it in the single player campaign and before you know you are barking orders like a General and having a lot of fun doing so. It's very competitive and the game is very well put together. Even though you aren't actively shooting at stuff there is rarely a dull moment, you've constantly got something to pay attention to. I would definitely recommend this game, you might not think it's your thing, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I absolutely love this decal! It was very simple to put on. Anytime I see a sticker that you have to place on a product, it worries me. This one easily peeled off the sheet and applied to my PS3 beautifully. It was also very forgiving when I placed it in the wrong position. Just slowly peel it off and re-apply! If you get an air bubble just push it out towards the edge. The stickers are durable and tough. It would not be easy to scratch. I have had these on for about 2 weeks. The controller stickers are still in place and in perfect condition!

I'm a girly girl and wanted something that would stand out and be different. This is perfect!

Of course it can play video games and that should be its primary function. It does this well. The online Playstation store makes it easy to browse titles and even better, download free demos. This model (250 GB Slim redesign) comes with enough stock memory to last you a good while, whether you're storing games, music, or movies. I personally like the sliding cover over a retractable disc tray. It eases the placement of the discs so I don't feel like I have to be as delicate, not to mention it's easy to see any dust accumulation and/or access the laser for cleaning. And I don't know that there's problems with the disc tray, but the less moving parts the better. You can hear some of the disc reading noises, but it's usually short lived and not really bothersome anyways. I've had it running night after night, sometimes for 6 hours continuous and it's not getting hot at all...just a slight warmth.

I also now use it to stream Netflix, through which we watch all kinds of TV shows and movies. I would recommend an HDMI cable though, assuming you have a TV capable of supporting it. It makes a noticeable difference in the resolution. The settings can usually be used on default and are fairly intuitive, but there's a wealth of things you can change or tweak to suit your needs. For example I have my HDMI cable running to my TV, but also have the RG cables running to my PA mixer for even bigger sound. But to allow this you have to allow it to split audio outputs first.

There's probably an overabundance of other reviews about its usage, so I'll just close with a glowing recommendation. I played my PS2 for over a decade (still running btw, but obviously no longer in use). This system blows it away. With the PS4 coming out later this year, you might be wary of getting an "outdated" system. If you haven't had this generation system yet, I'd say now is the perfect time to get one. There's literally years worth of games to choose from, many of which are under $20 brand new. And don't expect developers to abandon the PS3 for at least 3-5 more years, and even then, you probably couldn't play everything that's already been released (my Amazon wishlist has over 100 games). So far I've bought one game used and 4 games new, yet the total spent was only about $60...or about as much as a new release game.

One other note: I bought mine used. It showed absolutely no signs of wear, but it was missing 2 of the 4 rubber feet on the bottom. I haven't missed them. Provided you have some level of trust with the seller, I'd say go ahead and buy used if you see a good deal that clearly specifies what's included. They're seemingly sturdy systems. Although I wouldn't get one of the older models, especially a "fat", as those ran hot and tended to have YLOD problems. That being said, the brand new systems are hardly a ripoff either, especially if you're getting a bundle.

I've had it for a few months now and I've only found one flaw. It can be pretty loud, the fan, the discs loading. You insert the discs manually instead of the auto ejector in the older models, so you don't get any scratches. Much easier to fix and clean than the old slim.

One of the questions most people will have is: is the Move Navigation Control required to play the Move? The quick answer is--not right now. I'll put it another way: I ordered one with my Playstation Move Starter Bundle. After playing 5 different Move games and demos, it's still unopened in the package. My guess is it'll stay that way for a while.

The Move Navigation controller is really just a Dualshock controller that's designed to fit in one hand more comfortable. As with the Dualshock, it has a joystick, four directional buttons, and the most commonly used "X" and "O" Playstation buttons all within easy reach of your thumb.

Sony designed the Move controller (wisely IMO) not to have a joystick nor directional buttons. That makes it simpler and more elegant, but it also makes certain things (such as scrolling through a menu list of options) awkward to do with the Move controller alone (although not impossible--you can navigate through menus using the Move controller alone by pressing and holding the Trigger button and moving the controller up, down, left, and right).

But so far I've found so far that just holding the Dualshock in my left hand and controlling the buttons and joystick with my left thumb is sufficient, if a little clunky, for most of what I need to do (unless you have freakishly long thumbs the "X" button will be hard to reach--but happily, pressing the "Move" button on the Move controller will do what you need in most cases).

I'd assumed that like the Wii Nunchuk the Navigation Controller would have motion control built-in so you can control the on-screen action with both hands. It doesn't. For games that require motion control using two hands, you'll need to buy a second Move Controller. Most games that support two-handed operation will also provide the option to play one-handed, but I strongly recommend getting the second Move Controller, as it makes the experience truly immersive. Gladiator Duel on Sports Champions is a great example.

As new games are created for the Move I'm sure the Navigation Controller will become more useful, especially with FPS-type games where you need to move and shoot at the same time. But if you're looking to save a little money, I'd recommend holding off on the Navigation controller for now and spending the money on a second Move controller instead until you find a game that really needs it.

This was originally titled the "sub-controller" and that was much more fitting. Sony is somehow getting away with charging $30 for half a dual-shock. Only, it's not really half a dual-shock as it features NO RUMBLE. So, you're getting half a six-axis, right? NO. There is NO motion control feature included for your $30. This, to me, is the most disgusting thing about the Move setup, especially considering you REALLY DO need the navigational controller for games like RE5 and Heavy Rain (you can play with half a dual-shock, but it gets to be very uncomfortable very fast).

I can almost guarantee Sony will add rumble to the navigational controller within the next 6 months (probably prior to the release of Killzone 3). So, if you're not a hardcore gamer, I'd wait. If you ARE and you REALLY want to use motion control on RE5 and Heavy Rain, I would recommend this, albeit reluctantly at this price.

Is there anything wrong with the controller? Not really. It's well designed and mostly comfortable. The bumper button is too close to the thumbstick, which can lead to numb fingers and a sore wrist, but if you don't have large hands, this may not be a problem. Sony just needed to add either motion or rumble or both to justify this price. Nintendo charges $19.99 for their sub-controller (IE "nunchuck") and it has motion control.

The navigational controller would be priced right at $19.99 with rumble. Or at $9.99 as it currently is. Better yet, Sony could have included it in the starter pack and made everyone happy.

Holy PS3 accessories :)

The Navigation Controller is Motion Controller's (aka 'the Move') natural complement. It is not a 'must buy' at this time but it helps to have one for certain games where it's meant to be operated with 'the other' hand. If you don't have one, you can get away with a DualShock or a Sixaxis.

To make an informed decision on whether a purchase is warranted at this time (or ever) it's important to be aware of the following:

At the time I am writing this, not too many 'Move' games need the Nav. Probably because, one week after Move's official launch there aren't too many Move games out there but that will change I just ordered Heavy Rain which does use the Nav and I've had Little Big Planet 2 on order for quite a while.

There is nothing that that Nav can do that your DualShock or Sixaxis can't. In fact, the Nav Controller is nothing but the left side of the DualShock 3 plus the X and O buttons (PS button too) and minus rumble and motion sensitivity. You can, therefore, use your DualShock instead of the Nav on games that may require it.

These being said, the Nav is a well-designed, quality built accessory that does what it's supposed to do very well. It may not look like much but holding and using it feels 'natural' and all the familiar controls are easy to reach even though it may take a little practice to get used to the unexpected but necessary O and X. And, of course, the Nav does NOT come with a wrist strap because it does not need one. The Nav Controller will not be used to hack and slash or punch or parry. As its name implies, its main use is for 'navigation', meaning mostly the analog joystick, but the L2/L3 triggers and the D-pad are also there when needed in Aragorn's Quest you use the L2 to raise the shield.

Rating the Nav controller for what it is and what it does, I find no faults with it whatsoever. I appreciate its exceptional design, quality and its apparent durability. Some of the early Move games that take good advantage of the Nav Controller include Heavy Rain, MAG, Aragorn's Quest at the time of this review, Little Big Planet 2 coming up in a couple of months, many in between, I hope. To the extent that the Move proves itself a success with game developers, the Navigation Controller will find its uses and its users. I believe it to be so because holding the DualShock in one hand while swinging the Motion Controller with the other is not a good way to play a game.

while not vital to having fun with Move, it is a heck of alot more comfortable than the DualShock3 controller in my left hand. Plus side is the button locations and having x and o on the left hand now is a plus for even the most complicated games! Once again i must commend Sony for creating such a COMFORTABLE navigation controller. Thank you Sony :)

The nav controller is pretty much a duelshock rolled into one piece to fit in your hand. everythings laid out nicely and it fits in your hand perfectly. Has the analog stick, x and o button, d-pad, and the L1 and L2 buttons. The L2 feels nice as it has a little curve to it now, so your fingers dont slide off(never had that problem, just heard people complain before) It doesn't take nearly as long to charge compared to the motion controller. Does not come with a strap which I heard people complaining, but you dont swing it. no need to be moving it, so that why theres no strap. Been using it as i play heavy rain, which i really love with the move. Theres about 3 games out right now that youll need this nav controller for, and more in the future. if you want to play RE5, MAG, or heavy rain, then I say go buy this. If not, just wait on it then. All in all, this is a great addition to the controllers and comes in handy.

Overall, I would recommend this to any MK fan, either those that have kept up with the series or those that haven't played it in a long time. It's a great reboot of the series, that essentially resets the story along with returning to the original gameplay (which is both good and bad). There are a few innovations that set this apart from other fighters and really moves the franchise forward.

Graphics:

The backgrounds of the game look fantastic. They are loaded with lots of interesting distractions, such as dragons attacking a city, Shao Kahn and his creepy pet cheering on your fight, flying pyroclastic debris, victims being dunked into the dead pool, etc., that really make the combat areas come to life. The levels are really thought out and highly detailed.

The characters look great too, again very detailed and move fluidly. My only complaint is maybe a couple of models look a little off. For example, Sonya and Shang Tsung actually looked more realistic in Deadly Alliance. Also, the costumes are the ones from the first three games, so they don't look as interesting as those in later games (e.g., Sub-zero "suit of armor" from DA). I understand that they needed to use the customs from the earlier time period, but still I miss the cooler costumes from Deadly Alliance and Deception.

The artwork used in the characters' ending uses a very different style from previous games (painted portraits or animated scenes [MK4]). I liked it, they look nice and it's interesting to see something different.

Because of the upgraded graphics, I should point out that the fatalities are rather realistic (more detailed than previous games). Some can be pretty disturbing (Noob Saibot's being the worst), so definitely not for the squeamish.

Story Mode:

They definitely outdid themselves on this. The story is great, it's really fun to watch and does a great job tying the first three games together. Without giving anything away, I loved how it ends, it's a nice cliff hanger for the next game (of course there will be another game!).

My only complaints: No chapter select? If you beat it, why can't you go back and just watch it like a movie? Or better yet, watch specific chapters? All you can do is play it all over again. And no way to pause the cutscenes? With life's little distractions, it's annoying missing some dialogue and having to start the scene all over again.

Music and Sound:

The music is just OK. To be fair, what they did was take the music from the first three games and did a good job of remixing it, so that's mostly what you have here. With that in mind, the music isn't as good as the later games.

The sound effects (the unsung hero) are excellent. From the freezing and burning effects of Sub-zero and Scorpion, to the metallic clashing of Cyrax and Sektor, this game has the best sound effects I've ever heard in a fighter. I guess the developers agree, because the default settings of the game have the sound effects practically drowning out the music.

Gameplay:

Overall, very fast, fluid, simplified (compared to previous games), and fun.

The multiple martial art styles from Deadly Alliance are now gone, as are the highly complex 6 and 7 button combos. Personally, I did enjoy the martial art styles, but I won't miss them. And now most of the combos are limited to 3 button combinations, and to achieve larger combos you now rely more on incorporating special moves and air juggling.

The enhanced attack system is brilliant, that adds a lot to the gameplay and I hope that remains in future games. Basically, you have a meter that allows you to perform advanced versions of your attacks that either do more damage (e.g., Scorpion throwing two spears instead of just one) or are more difficult to evade (e.g., Sub-zero having a larger ice blast).

I thought the X-ray attacks would be silly, but they turned out to be pretty cool, especially Noob's and Quan Chi's.

Also, the AI in the game is fun without being frustrating (except for Shao Khan). The difficulty is highly adjustable, and on Medium or below most of the AI opponents fight intelligently, rather than just blocking and countering everything you do with ridiculous clairvoyance. Even Goro and Kintaro are approachable, meaning that you can actually fight toe-to-toe with them, instead of just trapping them in a corner and doing the same move 30 times in a row (like how Kintaro was in MKII). Shao Khan is the exception. Even on the Beginner and Easy settings, he goes completely ballistic on you, and you are forced to just do a cheap combination of projectiles and teleporting until you finally wear him down. Fighting him is not fun whatsoever.

Also, no Motaro? No big deal, just would have been cool to fight him. I guess motion capturing a centaur was too difficult.

This game went back to the traditional 2-D plane of gameplay. I preferred 3-D, but I can see why others would prefer 2-D, so I can't really say whether this is a good thing or bad thing. Here are my pros and cons of this:

Pros: 2-D is much faster than 3-D, because it makes it more difficult to evade your opponent. Because there is less of a playing field, you spend a lot less time chasing after each other, and it's easier to trap someone in a corner.

Cons: Without the ability to move in 3-D, you no longer have throwable/interactive objects that you can get to and use. Also, having a smaller playing field doesn't allow for multi-level arenas (like those in Deception) that are really fun to explore. Finally, you no longer have interesting 3-D attacks and sidestepping, which made gameplay a lot deeper (without being too confusing). Personally, I hope they bring back 3-D gameplay, but I doubt that will happen.

Final thought: it's time to get rid of the block button. They made some small changes to the button layout for this game, but the block button is still here? Sure it's easier to do fatalities with a block button, but other fighters with fatalities didn't need this (e.g., Killer Instinct, Primal Rage). I think MK would get a lot more respect if they got rid of this button.

Online:

Very fun. They have one-on-one fighting, tag teams, and king-of-the-hill tournaments. I haven't had any lag problems and it's fairly active.

This version komes with every dlc karacter and their kostumes. But the only thing that you'll either dislike or like is that all the kharacters are unlocked which means no old school fighting reward of unlocking additional fighters. But i guess the krypt makes up up for that.

Also the game includes the game soundtrack which you kan download and a digital copy of the first MK movie.

And this version does not require a online pass to play online.

Have fun

Okay, now to add to the kudos about the game... this edition made me sooooo glaaad I waited. When I saw the game advertised in an ad, and that it included Freddy Krueger, I lept for joy. I haven't been this excited to purchase a video game since "Turtles in Time" for SNES. Don't laugh, the versus mode was much better than Street Fighter.

I didn't even know there was a story mode, but I had to start with that... this is the story mode to end all fighting game story modes. You'd think this was an action adventure game instead of a fighting game. The story was well-woven, the graphics are stunningvery detailed background while still maintaining the 2-D fighting. The character updates are amazingand the reboot to classic moves makes them so much less cheesy... like Barakas slicing move. I also like that the grab and throw move isn't just a simple toss, but a mini beat down followed by a punch or kick and a heave/hurl/toss to one side of the screen.

And I won't say anything about using Freddy Krueger you have to discover for yourself!

All in all, if you liked the original Mortal Kombat, you'll love this game.

I finally adopted a next gen console when I got a PS3 for myself December 2012, this was one of the first games I bought. I have played the MK series of games since the original was released in the arcades. In my opinion this has been a great reboot of the franchise and helped clean up some of the storyline clutter that had gone on post MK3. The game play is back to more of an old school MK basics, which in my opinion is great because I never really embraced the 3d MK games. It has some stunning back grounds, a cool story mode, and of course fatalities. What more could you ask for? The online feature allows me to play with friends across the country, which is nice since I don't get to see them much. All in all, as a long time fan, I think this is the best sequel to come out since MK3 Ultimate, or maybe MK Trilogy.

As for people giving the game one star reviews for "missing" DLC let me explain how it worked for me. When I opened the package I saw two DLC vouchers, one for some music tracks and one for the original MK feature movie. The one for the feature movie expired 12/31/12 so I was out of luck there. Not really a big deal, except I thought it was a voucher for game content until I read it closer. Bottom line, this is the Komplete edition as it includes the DLC content. When you first load the game it does an update that installs the DLC automatically. All the characters and costumes are there. No need to bash the game because a bonus unrelated to the game itself is expired.

Concerning the Package

The Komplete Kollection package is perfect. Everything is on the disc with absolutely no waiting time, there are no patches/DLC to download and install. The game is just pop in and go.

The only voucher codes in the case are for the Mortal Kombat movie through PSN and a voucher to download a music album off of a online music site. There is no lame online pass code. Again everything is on the disc and ready when you are.

Unfortunately though Mortal Kombat Movie is 6.6 gb, WOW. I was slightly interested in re-watching Mortal Kombat, but I don't want to use up 6.6 gb. As I was writing this review I wanted to see what the film download included since its a very large file.(Movie is converted to HD, also an extra animated movie after credits titled Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins) Well I ended up initiating the download by accident. I saw the usual download in background and that it would take about 100 minutes (I have comcast xfinity) I was about to cancel it but to my surprise another button appeared titled "watch while downloading" and the movie is now running. So you could just watch the movie and by the time the movie ends the download should be finished and then you can decide to keep or delete.

Concerning the Game.

I loved the story, it was very good. Definitely will replay. There is also single player ladder matches, 4 Test your... mini games. A 300 level challenge tower. Koins to spend on the krypt. Practise mode with MK mechanics tutorial and fatalities tutorial, also your standard practice arena against AI or Human. A Tag team feature which allows for 4 player couch play, YAY! Still have not checked online play.

Only two things annoyed me; you can't skip cut scenes in story mode and also the move list as no page scroll feature, you can only hold down to scroll and its doesn't even scroll fast or smoothly.

Well Netherealm studios know how to deliver a game.

My teenage grandson wanted other games also at Christmas, but this had to wait until his birthday. We are not rich. Make sure that you order the "English language" version if you have a made for North America device. This actually shipped from Hong Kong via mail and arrived several days before the estimated delivery date.

I chose this product because I am not only a fan of One Piece but also because, fighting games are what I am all about. Well, that and RPG games but anyway The combat system is pretty spot one. Countless enemies to continue fighting to gain experience. Special attacks are awesome. Graphs are amazing for HD gaming. Also I enjoyed seeing Nami wearing that revealing outfit xD lol I couldn't resist. The only problem I have is the constant turning of the camera angle to where I have to find where my opponent is. Also, The Targeting system, It can only be used on bosses not underlings which I find to be lame. But all and all The game is excellent. I had to import it all the way from Hong Kong since I don't have PSN on my PS3. waited for weeks but it was worth it

:)

I love one piece and this game works like a charm. It is just like Dynasty warriors meets One piece if you are a fan of either i suggest picking it up. The ps3 is region free so it does not matter if this game is from Europe it will still play in America. Dynasty warrior fans will enjoy the feel of the controls with a one piece twist. It has an online mode a main log side logs a gallery a coin system. Check it out and buy it. It starts at luffy just starting out and does skip some events but you fight Don krieg, Crocodile, and many more villains you know. If you are not far in the anime or manga just to warn you there are spoilers, it goes all the way up to the great war.

I pre-ordered this game from NISA when it was announced to support their continued efforts in bringing more JRPG's stateside. Anyway, it came with a cool sound-track as a bonus. I'm going to comment on a few of the more prominent features of the game.

BATTLE SYSTEM: Moving on to the game itself, the most easily understood depiction of his game is probably "complex." The battle system is incredibly varied with several different ways to end a battle (TCS, Moe, kills, etc...) as well as a mini-game involving turn-based space battles. In terms of battles themselves, the free-movement semi turn-based style is reminiscent of Hyperdimension Neptunia MKII, except with a lot more variables to consider. You not only have the option to attack enemies directly with skills, AOE skills, or normal attacks/combo atacks, but you can also use "moe attack" to subjugate your enemies with a mood system that varies based on what archtype (there are 8) of your main character you currently have equipped. To add to this complexity, you can pinball enemies into each other with "Blast" attacks and even knock them into the air, where you can hit combo boxes for increased loot. In addition to all this, you have a peon meter that charges up a bomb (that can backfire on you) that you can unleash every once in a while. Yes this game is quite complicated, but in actuality you are not required to master most of the different battle systems in order to advance. Therefore, this game is actually quite easy to play, but very difficult to master if you want to be a complete boss in every fight.

CHARACTER UPGRADE SYSTEM: This is where similarities with Disgaea games beyond just the humor and voice acting comes out. You have the option to dive into an infinite level dungeon on your main base and continuously grind levels as long as you have the requisite character/mood %. This is a very streamlined and easy to access version of diving found in Disgaea games. What this means for you the player is that you can very easily grind your characters to ridiculous power and stomp the story mode of the game with relative ease. I actually had to double-check the developer on the box of the game and make sure it was Compile Heart because the system was so similar to Disgaea.

PLOT/CHARACTERS: The plot is very simple and very similar to Disgaea games. Your main character wants to conquer the galaxy and subjugates a merry band of heroes to help her do it. In addition, you can create additional heroes/characters (Again, similar to Disgaea) and make custom characters to your liking on top of the slew of named heroes you can control. The plot itself is not the strong point however, the character interactions are nice and while the writing isn't spawned from Oscar level talent, you will enjoy it if you are familiar with Compile Heart's previous games.

SOUND/VOICE ACTING: The score is excellent and adds to the mood. The quirky music and epic tunes combine to make a decent atmosphere for the game. The English voice acting is for once in a JRPG, one of the strong points of the game. The litany of characters, not to mention 8 personae of the main character are all voiced competently.

VERDICT: I would say this is Compile Heart's best game in recent memory and a huge improvement on the Hyperdimension Neptunia games. They either borrowed or stole a lot of quirky humor and gameplay elements from the Disgaea series with great success. If you enjoy the typical Japenese anime/moe type characters, you will like this game. If you went into it expecting Final Fantasy level drama, you will be disappointed because it's simply not that type of game. To me it was worth the $50. A solid step below Atelier Totori and Meruru in terms of overall enjoyment, but a good step up from Hyperdimension Neptunia MKII.

OMG! It's been quite a few years since I've enjoyed an RPG video game like I've enjoyed playing "Mugen Souls!" I have all of the DISGAEA games, and I enjoyed all of those, so I was naturally curious about this one.

I won't lie: the Moe Kill system confused the heck outta me at first. But now that I've more or less gotten the hang of it, it's fun to see which silly phrase will have what effect on this monster or that monster.

Here is a quick rundown of my highlights:

GRAPHICS = A Plus (I'm playing on PS3, and I think the graphics are gorgeous!)

PLOT = C (Average; you have a little girl who wants to take over the world. what little girl doesn't?)

BATTLE SYSTEM = B Minus (you have lots of bells and whistles, lots of different ways to kill the baddies. pretty cool)

ENDING = (A Minus; for spoiler reasons, i won't go into detail here, but the New Game Plus option makes replayability a very nice thing!)

CHARACTERS = A Plus (Definitely my favorite part of this game! every social disorder is well-represented in this cast of characters, and somehow they all coexist quite nicely)

So, my overall grade would be: A minus. Definitely a must have for all DISGAEA fans.

I went into Mugen Souls with, admittedly, high expectations. Mainly due to my love of virtually anything NIS has ever made. So, admittedly again, this may be a bit biased. Or very.

I can confidently say that this game delivers on all accounts. From gameplay, to dialogue, to story, to overall feel.

Gameplay: The free-movement combat is perfectly implemented, and is a pleasant change from the usual tile based system used in most NIS titles. The use of a full circular range for the weapons was, in my opinion, better than Neptunia's system of specific areas that the weapons would hit. This allows for an easier time targeting enemies, but also forces you choose which enemy to attack, as opposed to trying to shove them all into a box as I found myself doing in Neptunia rather often. The use of fields in this game is also well implemented, having the events/scenes occur as you advance through them. The specifics of combat are also great fun. Chou-Chou's Moe Kill is by far one of my favorite abilities in the game. It's nice to be able to wipe out an entire pack of enemies by being adorable. The Blast Off and Fever Mode mechanics are ridiculously fun. As for skills, there are a plethora of them, as well as unique weapon types. One final point is the Peon Ball, which is just great. I actually thought to myself, "Do I want to use my giant energy ball of minions to wipe out this pack, or turn them INTO peons to further increase the size of my giant energy ball of minions?" At no point did I feel like I NEEDED to grind, except perhaps the sudden jump in difficulty between chapters 7 and 8, but the Mugen Field honestly makes grinding fun.

Dialogue: It's an NIS game. So that's pretty self-explanatory. Great humor, not-so-subtle innuendo, and a great voice cast. I consider having even a DECENT English cast for a dubbed game a rarity nowadays. Another point is that all 8 of Chou-Chou's personas are unique and endearing in their own way, as that's kinda the point. I also love all the characters, I can honestly say there isn't one I dislike. Not to mention all the little things like poking fun at how "Heroes" are often raiding homes and breaking jars. And the fact that most of the peon creation is based around characters fetishes is often hilarious.

Story: As for story, there isn't exactly much to it, but it still manages to be engaging. Whether it be the revelations that occur as you progress, or little things revealed about the characters through their interaction. Though Chapters 2-7 are a bit formulaic (go to world, find Hero/Demon Lord, peonize continents, conquer, repeat) the way the characters go about their business keeps it fresh.

Overall Feel: Fun. Great fun. It's got everything a JRPG fan could want with all of the NIS spice added in. Peon creation, equipment upgrading, the Mugen Field, and so on.

So I can easily give this game 5 stars, as both a NIS fan and an avid JRPG player.

I essentially own all NIS America, Idea Factory, and Compile Heart game that has been released in America. That being said, I always get excited about the games and expect an 4 or 5 star experience, simply because I always have high hopes. Sadly, in most cases, the experience is about a 3.5 star experience. This game, however, was an exception.

This game was really fun, the gameplay is interesting, and the story and dialogue is mostly funny. That being said, neither are for everyone.

The dialogue mostly pokes fun at JRPG tropes and breaks the fourth wall. Many sexual innuendos are made, and some of the characters can be cliche. However, I enjoyed it for the most part.

Gameplay-wise, it's complicated. They throw a lot of things at you at once, and don't have a knowledge database, so you essentially have to memorize everything the first time. You do end up figuring things out along the way, but I thought that was half the fun. The game excites you when you finally execute some special mechanic correctly.

I personally enjoyed the entire experience, even with its flaws. They game can be endless with the Mugen Field aspect, which I liked. I would recommend this game to any/all JRPG fans. Happy Playing!

I knocked off one star due to censorship and not really caring for the expensive and silly DLC model. The game itself is fun to play. It's often humorous. If you're over... I'm guessing 19 years old, you're going to feel like a bit of a creep playing it.

I'm not sure if the age of the girls you're playing as in the game is defined, but they look pretty young to be so sexualized. Other than that, I've not had any issue. The dialog is full of innuendo and humor, the art is very nice, I even enjoy the music. Mugen Souls is fun to play, if a bit complicated.
