This title is a must own for coop fans who wants a robust customization system with solid gameplay mechanics. Missions range from standard flair revenge to, "lulwut!?" Apparently another reviewer does not understand that a game about violent Gangs is going to have profane language and might need to learn what ESRB rating system is about. Foul language is part and parcel of this franchise, so giving it a 2 star has to be as stupid as walking up to the leader of the Third Street Saints leader and giving him the bird...

This game is a whole lot of fun. If you enjoyed the GTA series, this is similar but goies further with weaponry, music, driving, and also gives you the ability to manage your gangs activity. Probably not a good game for your kid to play if they are younger than say 14. It's a blast!

one bad thiing about this is during the campain mode the characters swear at least 2 times per every3 minutes.a good thing is when you customize your character you can change how it walks ,talks and just about everything else.

Like many other people that purchased this game, I was highly disappointed.

I will get the ratings over with first, then I will go further in depth with my thoughts on this game

Graphics: 1 out of 5

Story: 1 out of 5

Gameplay: 3 out of 5

The game is short. I have been recovering from surgery and can't move around too much, so taking my time with this game was the perfect opportunity to see what it was all about. Unfortunately, what I thought would keep me busy for at least a week or so only lasted for about a day and a half. I was left with the feeling, "That was it?!" The $50 price tag on this game is ridiculous for the short amount of gameplay. Although, I have to say the game developers were probably wanting to make this a game with "replay value." I only say that because as you go through the maps in the game, you can choose which roads you wish to take (which will bring you to different locations obviously). So, if you didn't visit the mall or the hospital in your first playthrough, you can start the game over and visit all the locations you had not visited previously. Some maps were more fun than others, but you will get that in most any game you play.

The main reason I purchased this game is because I love stories. I was psyched to learn more about Daryl and Merle's back story, about the crazy, unadulterated mischief they get into before running into Dale's group. But I was sorely let down.

(SPOILER ALERT*

Knowing exactly what happened to Daryl's father is kind of cool, but not cool enough to justify a $50 price tag on this game.

And knowing what happens to Daryl's father is about the deepest this "story" delves when it comes tothis game.

As another rater commented, at the beginning of this game, there seemed to be a hint of a story unraveling, but it quickly fell apart and the game just turned into repetitive zombie-killing, doing menial and highly boring tasks for survivors you find along the way and lots of driving. I would like to mention that no, you do not actually get to drive a car in the game (I would have given this game a higher rating if you were able to drive a car imagine all the zombie-smashing possibilities!) driving a car in this game just consists of watching your vehicle move across the map on the loading screen (which happens far too often).

*HUGE SPOILER ALERT*

The only other thing that excited me about this game is the fact that Daryl runs into Amy and Andrea's parents. But that excitement lasted for about a fifth of a second. I thought that maybe the story might get rolling at this point, but I was sadly mistaken. They only wanted me to go on a supply run for them.

And speaking of stories, this area of the story (running into Andrea's parents) doesn't fully line up with the show. You would think that after Andrea's father actually mentioned the names of his daughters to Daryl, that Daryl would have at some point mentioned to Andrea that he had run in to her parents in suburbia somewhere on his way to Dale's group. But I'm not pitting this against the game, because I know I'm being overly picky about that story loophole (like I said, I love stories, GOOD stories).

The graphics on this game are poor compared to other games being released. It is blocky, the animation is jerky at times, some textures are used too often, huge parts of some environments are left empty (and boring) and the zombies' hit boxes seem to disappear when there are a large amount of them grouped together. Truth be told though, I didn't expect much when it came to graphics when I heard it was an Activision game (as they're not well-known for being high quality players in the graphics department). So, all I can say about the graphics is, I kind of expected it.

Overall, the only thing I truly enjoy about this game and had fun with is the crossbow. Plus, I like the fact that Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Michael Rooker (Merle) actually did the voices for their characters in the game.

If you want a decent walking dead game, check out The Walking Dead by Telltale Games.

I think the graphics have been covered already, and it's not a real concern for me. First, let me state there are areas of this game that are difficult and frustrating. Not difficult in the sense that it takes some unique game playing skill or expertise, just that you have dozens of zombies on you and the 'kill' methods aren't the quickest or most precise. As another reviewer stated, this game has one true positive attribute, and that's the tie-in to the show. The game is hardly much fun, doesn't introduce any new gameplay mechanics, and isn't open to roaming. I loved the Walking Dead from Telltale, and I realize some didn't. It was engrossing and engaging and you felt the true desire to keep Clementine safe. This is more of a zombie kill game with no thrills or frills, but the zombie killing isn't much fun. I wish when one was coming toward me I could just jab my blade straight into the head or grab the rascal, shove him against the wall and jam it in the head. Basically, any halfway realistic proficient use of your weapons during a kill would be welcome. All the characters in the show would be dead by the first commercial break if they were so inept at killing the undead.

The stealth actions on this are ok, but you won't stealth your way around huge zombie hoards. My best recommendation is buy this game sub $20, I got it on a 'deal' for opening day, and believe me, I had enough research ahead of time to know not to buy at the $50 mark. I think there are diehard fans of the show that will rate this high, but I feel giving it more than 3 stars isn't realistic for the average gamer. Let me stress that an average gamer doesn't mean the COD fanboys, just people who enjoy fun games, unique games, and ones that you can't wait to start after work or school. The Walking Dead could truly be a great game if done better, with more diversity/roaming, better game mechanics and actions, and I'd actually love some true scares, not just a zombie that happens to be around the corner. I think this game is more about seeing 20 zombies between you and the getaway car, over and over and over...

We all know most of these things but this review is just to cover basics and give you an idea of what you are in for when you rent/purchase this game.

Graphics: 2/5

Simply they are not up to PS3/360 standards, however they are not horrible.

Gameplay: 3/5

The game gets very repetitive you are breaking down in you vehicle at the same 2-3 spots all the time or looking for supplies in the same 2 places through the entire game.

Story: 1.5/5

The story.... well it almost does not exist. There starts being a hint of one developing in the first 10 mins of the game and then it is gone. It is re-mentioned once here and there but not often enough.

Action: 5/5

The action brings this game back, lots of zombies to kill and some good "scares" in the game as well :).

OVER ALL RATING: 3/5

Meaning buy it in a month or so when it is less then 50 dollars ;).

Of course we all love the Walking Dead.

But this game was way to short, poor graphics and not as expansive as we all had hoped out of this game. I wouldn't spend more than $20 purchasing this used.

Want The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Discount?

If you're a hardcore fan of the show, you might get a couple hours of satisfaction running around stabbing walkers in the face as Daryl Dixon, but anyone who has any idea what to expect out of a modern game will be disappointed. Graphics are just plain bad, and the gameplay is horribly repetitive. There were a couple good ideas here, but none of them were executed well at all. Decent sound design and voice-acting by the actors from the show are pretty much the only strong points of this game.

This is a review for the Love Is Over edition of the game, not the actual game itself which is great. The Stray Sheep "pizza box" this comes in is nothing more than an ordinary cardboard box that you might get with a computer component with a sticker slapped on it. The pair of boxers are some sort of cheap fabric. The artbook doesn't really have that much art in it and is more of a "behind the art" book. It also has one picture of some of the main characters and a little blurb about them before going completely into the art and style of Catherine and only Catherine. No environment art at all. No extra art or explanations for the other characters in the game. Although I'm not really surprised that the pillowcase had only Catherine on it, it would have made sense to have Katherine on the other side. The soundtrack is ok even though it doesn't have all the tracks from the game on it and the T shirt is good quality. I like the overall premise of this deluxe edition, but it wasn't as "lovely" as I had hoped.

Buy Catherine "Love Is Over" Deluxe Edition Now

I like to get special editions of video games to see if they're worth the extra money, and the Catherine "Love is Over" Deluxe Edition is BARELY worth the extra $20. Since CDs and novelty t-shirts generally run around $10 each, you would technically break even, but the contents of the Deluxe Edition are really unnecessary.

Pizza box: That's exactly what it is. A pizza box with a cheap sticker slapped on the front. Personal sized pizza(possibly deep dish), to be exact. The cardboard is as cheap as any disposable pizza box you'd get from a major pizza chain.

Vincent's Boxers: I can't compare the quality of the Vincent's boxers to other boxers because I don't normally wear boxers, but the material is relatively thin and a 65/35 blend of polyester and cotton. Men's size L.

"Empty" t-shirt: The material is kind of thin, but it wouldn't be bad for everyday use, especially on some of the warmer days. The shirt is 100% cotton and from Gildan, a fairly reputable company that makes blank shirts for custom printing. Men's size L.

Pillowcase: Clearly made for display purposes, but try explaining something like this to your mom/wife/girlfriend. It'll certainly raise their eyebrows, but I suppose it's at least pretty PG/PG-13 rated. Pretty standard and about as well made as any generic pillowcase. 55/35 blend of cotton and polyester. Twin/Std sized.

"Artbook": When I heard that this was only 36 pages, I immediately dismissed it. An CE artbook should be no shorter than 50 pages, and a REAL artbook is over 150 pages. It's more like an extended manual with character bios and a quick insight into Shoji Meguro's motives for remixing the classical pieces that he did. You can expect to see a lot of the same images that are already floating around the internet. And for some reason, it's written in English and French. The real 160 page artbook is being released by Atlus in August.

Sound Disc: Please not that this is a sound DISC. And NOT a soundTRACK. It even says on the artbook that it's a "sound disc". That said, it's an amazing piece of work. Shoji Meguro has taken some of the greatest pieces in classical music and remixed them to fit the frantic atmosphere of Vincent's nightmare sequences.

Tracklist

1. Holst Planet's Suite (Mars + Jupiter)

2. Beethoven Symphony No. 5 in C Minor (3rd Movement "Fate")

3. Bach Fugue in G Minor (The Little)

4. Dvorak Symphony No. 9 in E Minor "From the New World" (1st and 3rd Movements)

5. Rossini William Tell Overture Part 2 "The Storm" and Part 3 "The Ranz des Vaches"

6. Borodin Polovtsian Dances

7. Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition "The Hut on Fowl's Legs (Baba-Yaga)"

8. Bizet L'Arlesienne Second Suite "Farandole"

9. Chopin "Revolutionary Etude"

10. Handel Messiah "Hallelujah Chorus"

11. Chopin Piano Sonata No. 2 "Funeral March" (3rd Movement)

"Catherine" Game: It's nothing short of amazing. The sim and puzzle genres are an unlikely mix, but Atlus really pulls it off. The sim part comes into play when Vincent's at the bar with his friends. He mingles with other patrons, answers texts, plays an arcade game called Rapunzel, and drinks (of course). The puzzle part is from his nightmares: he must pull, push, and climb towers of blocks while avoiding traps, other sheep who will try to sabotage him, and/or ridiculously creepy bosses that chase him up the towers. You know that saying that goes "easy to learn, difficult to master"? Well the opposite is true for Catherine. It's difficult to learn, but once you've learned all the techniques and can see pathways, it's easy to master.

EDIT: The soundtrack doesn't have a lot of the great songs that you hear in the game, ie the awesome Title Screen song, the "Yo" song, etc...which is HALF OF THE SOUNDTRACK! It only has the nightmare sequence music, which I think is really STUPID. The nightmare sequence music only works for me when I'm playing the game. If I'm paying $80, then give me the FULL SOUNDTRACK! The "Original Soundtrack" has ALL the songs you hear in the game, ie. title screen, the Stray Sheep jukebox. And for some really lame reason it was only released in Japan. AND WHY WAS THAT ATLUS? So I had to download it separately to get the songs I'm missing. Really pisses me off they didn't include THE BEST Music with the Deluxe Edition in the US on the freaking DISC. >:(

I got the Special Edition in the mail yesterday. Amazon rocks! So I put it in and... 7 hours later I'm still playing it and only stopped cause I had to go to sleep. This game is amazing. Right now I'm at stage 6, level 2. (There are 8 stages). It may seem too short but it has multiple endings and a lot of re-playability.

Graphics: I don't like Anime. Let me repeat. I'm DO NOT LIKE ANIME. I don't hate it, i just don't care for it. But this game looks beautiful. It actually makes me sorta like Anime more. But overall, the graphics look beautiful.

Music: See my edit above. If you've played Persona 3 then you will know some of the songs here. The music works very well. In the nightmare stages the music fits when the stage has a foe chasing you and when it's more a stage to get you used to the new stage elements that have been introduced. The music outside of the nightmare sequences is just awesome.

Story: Here is where the game shines the most. You play Vincent who is having nightmares every night. At the same time, he is being pressured by his long time girlfriend, Katherine, to take their relationship to the next step. And on top of this, another girl, Catherine, is seducing him and trying to take him for her own. Now he is caught in a web of lies, secrets and guilt. Every time you pass a nightmare sequence you wake up to more drama in his real life. It's very engaging.

Gameplay: I really hate to call the nightmare sequences "puzzles" cause it sorta makes it less than what it is. These are Vincents nightmares. He has to climb to the top of these evil towers to escape so as to night die in real life. So the tower begins to fall down as you start climb, or there some huge monster chasing you. Everything in the dreams is connected to his real life in some way. There is more I would like to say to make sense of the sheep you see on the cover, but I don't want to spoil anything.

You are given questions to answer here and there throughout the game that determine the direction the story will go for you. The game has multiple endings and difficulties and medals you can get depending on how fast you climb the towers. So you can get a lot of game play out of it.

Overall, I love this game. I think it is pure genius. The issues that it addresses are very relate-able and really suck you into the story.

The Special Edition comes with just a pillow case, not an actual pillow by the way. The Special Edition isn't really all that worth the extra $20 in my opinion but this game is so special i just HAD to have it so I don't regret it. There hasn't been a game like this in a long time. I'm VERY impressed with how well they pulled off this whole concept and made a very VERY fun game.

If you are hesitant on this game, then try the demo. But i will warn you, the demo doesn't really do a great job in tying in the nightmare sequences with the story so you may get the wrong idea. Also the nightmare parts are a lot more complicated once you play the full game, and they get really creative, fun...and HARD. If you can rent the game, that would be best. But I would say if you like it, to go ahead and buy it. It's one of the few games out there that is worth full price in my opinion.

Want Catherine "Love Is Over" Deluxe Edition Discount?

I love this game, it feels really unique and innovative, the gameplay is also a lot of fun, it can be a bit difficult at first but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very addicting, the story is probably the best feature of catherine, this is one of the few games that really made me care about the character and the story and to see what's gonna happen next, the music is also top notch, the soundtrack cd only comes with 11 tracks but i was able to ding the official japanese 34-tracks soundtrack in the japanese itunes store and it's absolutely amazing, it is definitely worth a try, i do not regret any minutes and dollars spent on this game ^^

But this game sucks.

I'm a diehard transformer fan and a PS3 fan as well, but i would hate to lie and say this game was anywhere close to good because it's so close to being the most awful and annoying game on the PS3-EVER!!

The missions are boring, simple and not planned very well. (This game was definately rushed, because it had alot of potential.

I thought i was the only one having sound problems, but after reading other peoples reviews it seems like i'm not alone.

The controls suck! especially when you're driving. Talk about understeer and then a sudden oversteer makes the mission absolutely annoying. I dont expect it to be a grand turismo, but the programmers making this game were very confused on wether they wanted the driving to feel simulated or arcade-like...

Trying to drive, and trying to lock onto the enemy is frustrating as hell.

Transforming is cool, but it gets old when everything is so damn frustrating.

A.I is horrible. Talk about dumb enemy robots!

Activision, from my point of view, makes decent games. Not great games but decent. But this one is a total failure in my book.

I'm glad i rented it, and i'm hoping you do too before buying it!

This is a fun game. It's not very complicated, but there' enough for Transformers fans to keep you entertained for a while. As a comparison, this game is very similar to Simpson's Hit & Run. There are plenty of side missions and things to do that provide a good change of pace.

The game does come up a bit short in a few areas. The camera never seems to be pointing where it needs to be. The Bonus material is weak (especially the photo gallery). The instruction manual is bad and a lot of things are left up to you to figure out.

Buy Transformers the Game Now

Here's are the positives:

controls relatively easy to learn

your weapons and health automatically recharge over time

you can REALLY and TRULY destroy just about anything in the game (my favorite so far: wiping out Decepticons by swinging a ginormous swordfish!)

think of this game as a really good Mech game (compared to what else is out there), with strong similarities to Grand Theft Auto III's go-anywhere-and-blast-anyone gameplay, including the driving-around-the-city part. My advice is to screw off on doing the missions (going where they tell you), and instead just drive / fly around crashing into cars and buses and launching missles at the helicopters, etc. GREAT button-mashing fun (a la what I would always do late at night on GTA).

Here are the negatives:

no multi-player

limited number of Transformers (I want old ones!!)

the graphics are decent, but not as shiny-beautiful as other games (like Heavenly Sword, etc.). Still, they are not bad...

some people have said that the game is relatively short... well, I guess that depends on whether you play games for 8 hours a day, or more like 1 hour a day. I think it's a fine length, and I hope for a sequel with the OLD Transformer vehicles!!

some people have complained that when using HDMI, they aren't getting any audio. My advice: buy a digital audio cable and run it through your receiver. Hopefully this will help. (works fine with my Dolby Digital).

Overall, at the very least, give this a rental, and just spend half-an-hour driving around blasting things before you just this game. You will see that fun factor.

This is a great game. There are some issues with the controls. Certain commads share buttons and so in the middle of the action some unintended actions happen. It is the first game of the series and so these things can be overlooked. Combining attacks gets annoying at times, but usually works well. However, it is a great game!!!! BUY THIS GAME!!! wow i thought these would be good but theyre simply stunning for 60 dollars. the bass on these little cans is great especially with songs like dazed and confused by led zeppelin or loser by beck. mostly though ive played battlefield 3 on it and it sounds almost as good as my sony pulse headphones. very high fidelity drivers make speech and low end bass very clear as well as the mid range for guitar and gaming. overall THIS HEADSET IS BADASS end of discussion!

After reading reviews all over the net and just by looking at how nice the headset looks, I was sold. And I was not disappointed, they look great and feel great! The sound quality is amazing besides a slight and faint humming when no sound is running through them (on PS3 only, no humming on PC). What I love about them is that they can be used for calls on a cell phone or video calls and the microphone works great!! The detachable mic is a little hard to get used to (locking them in) so READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before trying to jam them in. Overall a great headphone really up my game in MW3 S&D(you can hear footsteps, defuses, ect.). Overall awesome headset for price!

I bought this headset in December when it first came out from Walmart. I used this headset for Call of duty and Battlefield and it sounds amazing! Everything sounds crisp and clean and u can hear footsteps of other players. It has volume control so u can control party chat and game volume. ALso it can be plugged into your mobile device. I never tried it though. I have two problems with this headset. It does not fit very well. I wear glasses and earrings. Whenever i put this headset on i have to take out my earrings (studs not hoops). Whenever i play for more than an hour it starts to hurt a little. The second issue is durability. I took extreme care of my headset but the left side went out with 6 months.I never dropped or unplugged wire. I was really disappointed when it broke because for the price its a great headset. Thankfully i got the 2 year coverage and they reimbursed me what i paid for it. I defintley recommend this headset if ur looking to have a better gaming experience and save some money. I also recommend any extended warranty because headphones and headsets are so delicate.

The Kunai provides some excellent sound quality very comparable to my regular Sony MDR-V6. I have absolutely no complaints with the sound or voice quality, and the inline volume controls are very functional. Got these on sale for $40 and, even with all that good stuff I just mentioned, these are still barely worth the price for how exceedingly uncomfortable they are to actually wear.

1. The cups are made for people with ears the size of walnuts. Don't ignore all the reviews who have said this before me and certainly don't ignore it now that I'm pointing it out again. They will not fit around your ears; they will pin your ears down and put constant pressure on your head as long as you're wearing them.

2. While the cups do pivot 90 degrees, the only pivot 90 degrees in one direction. and it's the wrong direction backwards. This means that you're forced to have the headphones sit towards the back of your head and constantly readjust the position for it to be anything resembling comfortable.

3. The cable setup is a huge inconvenience. You are required to a) plug the headphones into the inline control, which feeds into the b) USB connection that goes into your PS3, but then you also need to c) plug the other end of the headphones into the audio splitter that then d) needs to be connected to your PS3. The audio cable of the headphones themselves is too short for anything other than holding its connected device right in front of your face, too.

So, basically, excellent sound and voice quality at a great value that's stuck inside headphones that are too small with an inconvenient setup. Just barely worth the $40. Just. Barely.

Ok... I just got my PS3 and I'll admit this game is not Resistance Fall of Man, but with my 4yr old I can't play it. So I was looking at other games. I came across this, and the reviews were kind of bad. I think they were mostly looking at the Xbox360 version as for the PS3 is an all new field.

First of all the game is Sixaxis ready and has a simulation mode using the sixaxis. The best example of the sixaxis's ability yet. It almost feels like your really controlling a plane. Next there is third person and first person (which can be switched between during play... how awesome)... This is simply the best flight sim I've seen, a good number of levels along with a wide variety of planes to fly. Also, something rare is the ability to look around in the cockpit with the analog stick.

This game is just fun and feels so relistic to flying a small plane. I have played with a standard control scheme because the sixaxis is way to fun. It's awesome to be doing a nose dive and to pull up on the controller at the last second to come swooping off the ground.

The graphics could probably be a little better for the PS3, but when playing the game your usually to busy to notice.

It's a great game for sim lovers or in general to add to the PS3 collection. Did I mention it has Multiplayer abilities and Online!

The sixaxis is what makes this game.

This comes from a person that has 80 PS2 games and is a harsh critic.

If you want to try something unique try it.

It is definately a rent, if you not into games like this.

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I haven't played all the way through yet and the graphics could probably be more detailed.

This is my second PS3 game. While Resistance is fun, its not ground breaking. Blazing Angels is a unique game that is a blast to play. I was somewhat skeptical of the Sixaxis functionality before buying this game. It turns out to work great, and this is the perfect type of game for it. This Sixaxis is what makes this game so fun to play. The graphics on an HD TV are pretty impressive as well.

As far as game-play itself, the game has an abundance of aircraft choices, missions, and types of play. Co-op mode is a lot of fun. My only complaint is there is not a difficulty option and some of the missions are extremely challenging (at least in Co-op mode). Single player flying with a squadron of 4 may make it easier.

All-in-all, Blazing Angels is a great game and definitely worth buying.

Being the proud owner of a new PS3, a copy of Blazing Angels (among other games), a new Sony LCD HDTV and digital connections , I have not been dissapointed in any of those purchases especially "Blazing Angels". The graphics and sound (I play it thru a BOSE entertainment system) alone will blow your mind, especially if you previously have not been exposed to that environment.

Now to the game: It has a short training mode whereby you fly basic older aircraft designed to get a layman exposed to the controller and the game's interaction. Then to the missions; WWII is closely paralleled. While the game does take some liberties with actual facts of the war, it won't disappoint you if you are a student of the war. The game gets progressively harder and in the Arcade mode, shorter alloted times; which is sure to frustrate you as you are learning how to fly, bomb, torpedo and avoid being blown out of the sky.

My experience with the motion sensitive controller has pretty much relegated it to the back burner. It doesn't appear to be responsive enough to turn tight loops with the aircraft. But in all fairness, I have been concentrating on those things that work for me. I'll give it another shot as time passes.

Find the time to play it. It will give you many hours of enjoyment; be prepared to get frustrated, though. Thus far, I am protecting (or trying to) Midway island. But I am also frustrated, as I can't imagine downing all the incoming bombers, before time runs out (I've tried many, many times). Maybe my age is a detriment, though. I am almost 70 yrs old but "Loving it and Frustrated".

I was looking for a flying game game for my new PS3 and HDTV combo and was thrilled to find that Blazing Angels was already released. It is a challenging game, but with practice (I've crashed my poor planes more often than getting shot down), I've advanced into the game. In 1080p it is really a breathtaking experience. My older daughter likes it too! But now comes the downside it is terribly glitchy. Voice over narrative crackles on and off by itself, important on screen tools appear and dissapear by themselves. Most online forum advice involves lowering the screen rez to normal 480p which defeats the reason for getting a PS3. So anyway, we can play the arcade games with no problem and have fun until we hear the glitches are fixed and have the disk replaced. As for buying now for PS3 -I think it's risky. Ubisoft's online tech support has been no help at all, not that I think that they are being obstinant, just that I think that they don't know how to fix these things yet. As of yesterday, mid Jan 07, there isn't a single PS3 listing in the "Answers" section of the tech support area for ANY PS3 subject!

This game is amazing. I am especially impressed by it because it turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I love flying games, especially aerial combat, but when it is too technical and all sim I get frustrated. This game finds that perfect middle ground. You can stall, crash, lose control, and so forth... but you do not need the skills of a professional pilot to play it. Any gamer can get the hang of the controls with some practice and it is a TON for fun to fly around. Your plane is not indestructable but can take some damage so it is not like a few shots puts you on the ground. Missions and enemies come in a variety of difficulty levels so both the novice and expert will feel challenged byt different game modes. There are abour 40 different aircraft that you can fly in the game and various missions utilize unique attacks: machine guns, bombs, torpedos, rockets, and even phtos are all skills you must learn. I found the graphics to be pretty impressive, even without an HDTV. The background music is pretty cool, too, and that adds a lot to the gaming experience. I have had a blast with the game so far. I have mainly flown campaign missions, arcade mode (gun down enemies to earn time and pass checkpoints), and duels with aces. I don't think I have had as much fun playing a flight game since the days of Red Baron. You will not regret this purchase! I did not even mention the use of sixaxis control, which is another great feature that is used well in this game. Again, Blazing Angels is highly, highly recommended for the PS3.

This piece of crap skin does not glow at all, your ad is false advertisement and I suggest you change it. I am very unhappy that I waited for a month for this crap, if I just wanted to camouflage my controller I would have painted it. This is the last product for Sony that I will buy from Amazon.

I got the PS3 with the move and the Tiger Woods game for my husband and he and my 22 yr old son love it. I bought this club and a longer one and they love the longer one and never use this one at all. Since this club was so inexpensive I wasn't upset, but I'd recommend just spending $20 on the longer club.

Sorry this is so long, if you want depth read the whole thing, if you prefer brevity then I would simply say for those who never played the first one you should play it, it is more fun than the second, and for those who did play the first, then rent the second before you buy, because it is less fun than the first.

I really enjoyed the first Overlord. It was different and unique, and just a lot of fun. The graphics were not the best ever, but served their purpose, and the voice acting was (I believe) intentionally horrid, and helped sell the world. The game was still funny, and a lot of fun even with some annoying camera and control issues. The second one is exactly the same as the first, minus most of the fun.

If you never played the first then as background, you play an evil overlord who controls a horde of minions of various colors and abilities (brown = fighter, red = flamethrower, green = hiding/backstabbing, blue = healing/swimming) and you send them to smite the "good" guys (few of the "good" people are actually very good though in either game) and that is about it. The first game made up for the lack of any more real depth by making the enemies funny with specific downfalls (gluttony, lust, sloth, greed) and giving the minions some limited personality.

The second game eliminates a lot of what made the first enjoyable, first the enemies have nothing to identify them, the bosses recieve limited, if any, introduction or personality, and the basic soldiers/villagers are just there to be hit with something. Also, the advertised improvements such as minion mounts and sailing the boats are poorly implemented. Brown (wolves), green (spiders), and red (salamanders) minions can obtain mounts, but they are fairly useless except in the specific section they are needed. Wolves can jump over large gaps and spiders can climb webs so you see a wolf, you know ok, gap somewhere or spider = web to climb somewhere nearby. But that is it, and unlike weapons and armor for your minions, you can't keep mounts, they either leave when you return the minions to their nests, or when you change areas, but not even zones, there will just be certain areas in the same zone you obtain the mounts which they can't cross and just stop (and worse, can get stuck) and toss your minions off. Ships are even more annoying as there was some potential there but mostly they are used to get to a dock and that's it. After the first area you use it, then you really don't again. The game could have easily been designed without them and nothing at all would change.

Minions are still annoyingly stupid, I have to run the whole group over treasure and weapons several times before one will pick something up, and the camera seems even worse in this game than the first. There have been times when it got stuck facing my character from the front so I couldn't see what was coming or how to direct my minions without constantly turning it back behind me. Also, they eliminted the abyss (Hell) zones. In the first game after you beat an area you could open a gateway to basically hell where the enemies and people you met and fought are comedically suffering for their sins. These areas expanded the games play time and were a source of amusement (the gluttonous halfling who ate everything did so until he exploded, forever). The second one just lets you go back to a beaten area and either dominate everyone and force them to be your slaves or just kill them. The thing is there are 100 people you have to do this to in each town and it is BORING. Just doing it drags, but it is even more frustrating when you can only find 97 of them and spend hours trying to find the other 3. This is worse for domination since all the people are still around, your slaves and the not-yet-converted, so it gets really confusing trying to figure out who is and who isn't by just the slight blue static around your slaves heads.

On the plus side the new addition of stages where you posess the body of a minion and become one of them and sneak around or dress up as the enemy are actually amusing and fun, though you lose all of your overlord abilities, although magic is much less interesting in this game than the first anyway.

Like I said before this game is almost exactly the same as the first, only without the wit and humor that game possessed. If you enjoyed the first one, you may like this, or you may be disappointed like me, so I recommned a rental, if you hated the first then you will hate this one more.

I purchased this game about a month ago and I have been playing this game religiously. Referring to other reviews, I don't see how anyone gets "lost" in this game if they're actually paying attention to what's going on in the game. On the contrary, if you look on the map, there's a little exclamation point that shows you where you're supposed to go.

I haven't completed this game 100% but I'm almost there. Overall, I think I've seen enough to easily earn this game 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend this game to any of my friends.

The first title in this series was fresh and fun. PS3 owners got a great bargain because the game and the expansion "Raising Hell" was included in a single PS3 title. By comparison, Overlord II seems a little boring and short. The story was mildly interesting but very sparse (mostly it just seems you were running around killing/dominating). The game was a fair deal at 20 or 15 dollars, but for someone looking for a fun game, I would say just purchase the first in the series and leave it at that.Overlord: Raising Hell

Defiance came as a surprise to me. I must say first of all that this was my first MMO (Massively Multi-player Online Game). Before this I had only dabbled for a few minutes at a time in any MMO that I tried. None kept my attention whatsoever and at first, Defiance looked to be no different. I had actually downloaded the Beta(A test run for a game) but was severely underwhelmed at the first couple of hours I spent playing. I really only came back to it out of having to kill some time. The beta was pretty bad with glitches and bugs at every turn (that is why they run a beta though after all) and I teetered on the fence of whether or not I wanted to make the full purchase when the game came out. After spending a few more hours in the world of Defiance, I decided I'd give it a shot. I finally ended up downloading it from PSN because I had some points I needed to use up anyway.

Now as to the game itself, at present there are still numerous glitches but I haven't had any that were game breaking or more than an annoyance. First, if you are a passerby that has just taken interest in this game without knowing anything about it, know that it is an MMO. And as such you have to be connected to PSN via the internet to actually play the game. You will be playing with other people, though your interaction with them is up to you. This game is mostly player verses the environment(PvE). In other words, you'll be fighting computer controlled bad guys and you can team up with other players on the fly to tackle these baddies. There is no player verses player in the main game other than optional 'Shadow Wars'. PvP comes in the form of competitive multi-player maps that have you facing off against other human opponents. There are also co-operative maps that task you and three other players with objectives through mini-stories.

Defiance is a third person shooter(TPS) that plays like a cross between Borderlands and Fallout. There is a lot of loot but guns offer differing abilities instead of higher and higher damage output. In other words, you have to find what works for you and there are a lot of options. I personally found an assault rifle and semi-auto sniper (You equip two main weapons) to be my bread and butter but people had all range of load-outs from rocket launchers that rain down cluster bombs to pistols that infect their target with insects that break off and attack other enemies. You'll also pick from four abilities, one an invisibility cloak, one that increases damage output temporarily, one that speeds your character to a blur and one that creates a hologram of yourself that tricks enemies into attacking it instead of you. These can all be upgraded and given time you can unlock all of them if you want. In addition you can add perks to your character that give you a slight edge against the outside world.

The Bad

-The game takes hours to get interesting. As I said, the game starts out so underwhelmingly average or slightly below that I don't blame anyone for giving up. You very slowly gain new abilities and weapons. Very slowly. The game really doesn't get interesting until you've done a good handful of the main story missions, unlocked some perks and scavenged some decent weapons.

-Vehicles control like boats. This isn't really a problem until you try to do any of the racing challenges. Going for a low race time means making minute adjustments to your vehicle that the controls just don't allow without frustration. The courses go on too long for having to make a flawless run as well.

-Frustrating boss fights. There were two fights in the game, one about half way through and the other the final villain, that went on for far too long and without checkpoints. The first overwhelms you with enemies and a too difficult procedure to actually damage the boss. The last I actually managed to beat in one go but my hands were shaking by the time I laid the controller down. Add to this the fact that the bosses can effectively one-shot you into oblivion. I don't mind a challenge, just give me some checkpoints between the multiple boss forms. The final boss had me on edge as well because I was playing during a storm and was afraid my internet would go out, kicking me off of the server and restarting the whole procedure. Thankfully it didn't.

-Enemies re-spawn too fast. I can't tell you my loathing of clearing a room of enemies, proceeding to the next and having a gaggle of bad guys kill me from the room I just cleared. Luckily most of the time the only penalty is a very small fraction of your total scrip(cash) and having to get back to the battle from too far apart spawning points. But objectives you've completed carry over.

-Missions, while objective based, usually just boil down to killing a bunch of baddies, throwing a switch and then killing some bigger baddies.

-The Map doesn't have enough detail. Really it only shows you quests and the names of the main five areas. Looking for a specific farm to complete an optional objective relies solely on your memory.

-Schtako. The stupidest word I've heard in a long time. Come on SyFy, we know what you're trying to say and skirting the issue is frakking stupid.

The Good

-The shooting is tight, if you get a critical hit it's because you lined the shot up right.

-The driving. I know I said it's like driving a boat but you never have to use your vehicle so precisely besides the races. I spent a lot of time just driving the jagged terrain of the world and hitting jumps to my hearts content. Also just having to hit the up button to summon the vehicle meant a lot less frustration if you landed in say a tree or something.

-The assortment of weapons is varied and each one is useful in a different way. You can customize them with mods and equip any two you want at a time.

-Enemy variety. At first there are only a couple of types but after exploring the world, which is split into five zones(no loading between them) with new enemy types altogether in each. Different enemies require different tactics and some weapons are beneficial to some and not so much with others.

-I actually grew to like the characters in the story. Sure they're stereotypes, the burned out law enforcer, the scheming business man, the scoundrel of a bounty hunter, but in the end they were memorable in their own way.

-Side Quests and daily events. So there are a lot of side quests, some repeatable and there are Arkfalls which are massive land-spanning boss battles that you can participate in or completely ignore, but there are also daily and weekly 'contracts' that you can do to build up favor with in-game companies to get better gear. Most of the contracts are just to kill a certain amount of a certain type of enemy in a certain area but at least it adds a lot of keep-playability.

So in the end I am satisfied with my purchase. As my first real MMO I feel intrigued. If you're looking for a time sink that gets better the longer you play this game might be for you. If you just want something for the short term or aren't the patient type I'd advise you look elsewhere. I am interested in seeing where Defiance goes in the future, especially once the show starts on SyFy since there are already cross-over events in-game. I would like to see some events in game that weren't just going out and shooting up bad guys or racing. There are ample bars and meeting places where player congregate. It would be cool to have some arcade games set up or card games and the like to let people just unwind in a virtual world with their friends. But all in all I had more fun than frustration with Defiance.

As a final note to a too long review I offer some tips in getting the game running. Turn off motion blur in the options. In my experience it makes the game a lot less choppy. And if you get a 'you've been queued' message that says to wait for hours, just give it five or ten minutes. It's just a bug in the system and I never had to wait long to get into the game.

The strangest thing about this game was how little information there was out there on it. I googled it a fair amount and couldn't find a whole lot of anything with substance. When I ordered it, it was because of pretty good Amazon reviews (ignoring the ones that were posted for some reason other than to help Amazon buyers.)

The good:

The game really is pretty fun. I'll be honest, I put off my finance homework for way too long because I was playing co-op missions and having a blast with them. There is a huge variety of weapons, just enough loot to keep you addicted to looking, and the story is pretty decent. Graphics and playability are pretty good as well and seem to be improving, I get the impression there is a lot of tweaking going on by the developers. It's a lot like Borderlands except that it isn't as smooth or polished, I'm guessing the MMO had a lot to do with this but they're getting there.

The bad:

Lag is hilariously bad sometimes, I've been kicked repeatedly, I'm writing this review because of constant server timeouts. People gripe about the PvP being ruined by Cloakers... to avoid this problem... pick Cloak as your power and be one of the guys people cry about. It's amusingly overpowered. I've also had several bugged missions and several bugged items. My best advice is to simply abandon the mission and keep trying with the items. Leveling is sporadic and comes in big clumps of levels gained but overall it's functional.

In short, when the game is working well it is seriously very fun. When it's not working well, just go find something else to do for a while and try again later. Trion is doing a lot of new things with this game and it clearly has some growing pains.

I have been waiting for this game for quite some time now and I can honestly say it has been well worth the wait. I have been playing for about 15 to 20 hours so far and decided I would share my opinion of the game. As I progress further into the game I will update my review.

Graphics : The graphics in this game will not blow your mind but they are pleasing to look at. The closest example I can give you would be to compare them to Gears of War 3. The facial animations could have been a touch better but everything else is comparable to Gears 3.

Character movements : Everything seems to be spot on. character movements are smooth and easy. just like in any third person shooter you have your dodge from side to side where you do a roll to escape whatever you are trying to get away from. also the same is true from front and back. Control of your character is very tight and responsive.

Vehicles : This is the way you will get from point A to point B. At any time all you have to do is press up on your D-Pad and what ever vehicle you have equipped will appear a short distance away. The few vehicles I have been able to use so far handle just fine , I didnt flip my four wheeler once. This feature is awesome , being able to call for a ride whenever you want cant be beat. It is deffinately preferable to trudging the whole way by foot or scouting around for something to drive. You can walk/run everywhere if you please but I had rather ride.

Gunplay : Hit detection seems to be spot on. Your reticle will turn a bright red when you run it across an enemy and when you fire you can feel the effects through the controller. You can not only see that you are hitting your intended target but you can also feel it.

Skill Tree : Since I have just began to play There is no way I can remember everything about this but i will give you a general summary. You can choose a certain ability like Cloak where you become invisible to your enemies for a certain time frame. As you progress you begin to unlock perks for that particular ability. Since the cloak ability is a stealth ability the types of perks you unlock will be stealth based. The same is true for all the other available abilities. I really cant go anymore indepth with this because the cloak ability is what I have started with and am currently useing and have not tried anything else. Something I can tell you is that there are LOTS of perks to build around your abilities.

Character Progression : As you level your character up you will unlock new guns , perks , armor/clothing to make your character your own. You gain (XP = Experience points) for just about everything you do. the best way to get the most XP out of killing an enemy is to shoot them a bit then walk/run to them and meele them. This gives you about 40 XP per kill verses only 15 XP per kill if you just gunn them down. So shoot a bit then run up to them and give them a smack to the face.

This is about all i can tell you at the moment. I got this game as soon as Best Buy opened its doors then ran home and popped it in. You will have to be very patient when you first begin to play. Before you begin to play you will have to install the game , update patches , and you will recieve an Xbox live / PSN update. This will take some time so just wait and be patient. I am getting a 25 meg internet speed from comcast and this still took a while. So the slower your speeds the slower the install/updates and vice versa the faster your connections the faster the install/updates will be. When I first tried to play I couldnt get online because of everyone trying to get on at one time. I expected this as it happens with all online games on release date. I waited about an hour then tried again and popped right into the game without a hitch. For all of you that dont know THIS IS AN ONLINE ONLY GAME ( MMO = MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE ). I dont want anyone to make the mistake of buying this game thinking you can play offline.

And in closing : In my opinion this is a great game so far, also I am extreemly happy with my purchase and reccomend this game to any action/shooter fan. The world is a huge open world just begging you to explore and kill the nasty alien/mutant. I just cant reccomend this game enough. There have been some rough spots with the PS 3 and the Xbox 360 versions but the developers have been working very hard to give us the game we were promised and as of 4-5-2013 at about 11:45 pm. I have not been droped from a game or had any server crashes, so Game on everyone , have fun.

Update : 4-11-13 I have just beaten the main campaign and I must say it was an awesome ride. the reason for this update is to tell you all that the last boss fight of this game is one of the hardest I have ever fought.I went through every gun in my inventory until I finally figured out how to beat him . You will need to have the magforce weapon equipped to beat him. the fight is three stages and your opponent can kill you in only a few hits. With the magforce equipped you can shoot him and also heal yourself. That is the beauty of this weapon, it will take a while to kill him with it but you can keep healing yourself and recharge your shields with it. If this is a little of a spoiler im sorry , I just dont want anyone rage quitting like I just about did. The magforce is a BMG ( Bio-Magnetic Gun ) and there are more in the game that are very similar that do basically the same thing. any of those will work, some just have a little more power than others. I promise by the end of the main campaign you will really feel like you accomplished something , and then you realize the game has so much more to offer that you will want to continue your journey in defiance for a long long time.

PS3 version forces local multiplayer to use the same username, so you see "username (0)" and "username (1)" as the player names. It's a little annoying since I've never been able to join an online multiplayer game (lack of players I guess?). Otherwise it's just what I expected, although I honestly enjoyed the Wii version more.
