Not only does it work with the PS3, but it works great for Skype on the PC. Just make sure that when you plug this into your PS3 that you change the speaker/audio settings in the PS3 menu. I forget the exact setting, but it's very simple. Also, you will only hear conversations in this headset, NOT gameplay...which is how it should be. If you want to hear gameplay too you head a headset with RCA audio jacks as well. Highly recommended.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a basic one-ear headphone + microphone headset that works well with gaming consoles, PCs, and online chatting such as Messenger and Skype. Just plug it into a USB port and go.

Likes:

>Fairly comfortable, cushioned mini earphone with easy to adjust headband and a retentive rubber pad on the non-earphone end.

>Flexible microphone for precise positioning.

>Good sound quality for chats only; stereo and 3D surround game sounds/music still come from the system speakers.

>Really useful for multi-player game communications.

>Volume control and mute button.

Dislikes:

>Medium quality plastics and vinyl cushions that may not stand up to heavy use.

>Priced a bit high at $24.99 when wireless chat headphones such as Bluetooth Wireless Headset For Sony Playstation 3 PS3 are available for $14.49 (at time of review) shipped from Amazon vendor.

Bottom Line:

Very useful headset for serious gamers who require a dedicated chat headphone to clearly communicate tactics and strategies. May also be used for casual video chatting/conferencing. However, there are many lower priced alternatives available from Amazon vendors. Make your own informed decision.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Since I play FPS games almost exclusively, this was a welcomed addition. Previously I had been using a Bluetooth cellphone headset (without much satisfaction).

The sound quality is great both listening and talking. I'm really satisfied. Obviously I would have preferred it to be wireless but the difference in quality makes it so I don't really mind being wired in too much.

I like that the cable is long too. Nice solid construction that looks like it will last.

my son & hubby are big time gamers on ps3 & wore this thing out. to be fair, they're not very good about taking care of their things. so i had to get another one or risk the wrath of them yelling into the ps3 move unit, which has a microphone on it. lol.

this is a good price, it held up to rough wear n tear, and it's a good piece of equipment.

Want AmazonBasics PlayStation 3 Wired USB Chat Headset Discount?

I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but my initial impressions are that it's made very well. Everything feels tight and well constructed, and the cable is plenty long at 11ft. The microphone boom is very flexible, but stays in position very well. The earphone is clearly an on-ear, and it does feel fairly small compared to others I've used, but the point isn't really to block out external sound, so it's acceptable.

I promptly update reviews as needed, so if nothing is mentioned about the quality once I use it, you can assume I'm happy with the headset. Unbelievable price!

It's a big difference from the X-com we're all used to. The squad control options are clunky and could have been done way better, such as in the Mass Effect series, and having the other squad members complaining about needing help is annoying. If they'd done more fighting on their own without waiting for commands it would help. The animation is good and it's nice to have an X-com game with an in depth storyline. The audio is good although the Buddy Holly song at the start seemed out of tune. It gives a good feeling of being in the 1960s. Overall this game is well worth playing for fans of the X-com franchise but let's hope that any sequels take more from the turn-based games control wise.

I would like to begin by saying that I am not an XCOM fan or even a strategy game fan. I was however a huge fan of the Mass Effect series and heard it was similar. With that being said, I bought this game without knowing what to fully expect. Preliminary reports made the game seem interesting so I took a shot on it. It turned out to be a very good decision.

The game plays like a more linear version of Mass Effect with a HEAVY emphasis on partner placement and shot calling. If you run and gun in this game, even the most rudimentary of opposition will mow you down. I am about 3 hours in so far but I am really enjoying it and am glad I gambled on it. I find the story engaging so far, and am really liking the strategy aspect of it (this coming from a player that is generally not a strategy game fan).

It is a shame that it was released on the same day as Saints Row 4, because so far its playing like a top notch title for me. If you are a fan of the Mass Effect series, like cover shooters, or want to try something that has its own unique flavor I recommend this title.

Buy The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Now

first off, this isnt real xcom. its an off shoot. It tosses slight references and names of aliens/weapons around relating to the original XCom, but thats about it. There is no continuity what so ever from this and the more updated geo remake of xcom. I think they continued to push this game out to recover some profit of the time spent on it.

Is it a completely horrible game? No. absolutely not. I rather enjoyed it. It does get a little repetative, and there are points where a real XCom nerd like me sees the full potential of how this game COULD have gone.

Step back and enjoy it for what it is. a 3rd Person shooter, alien invasion, 1950's. There are cliche's abound in the story, and nothing to really pull you in other than the time frame and relation to xcom.

If you're on the fence pick it up at a price drop. Its a good game, that couldve been great.

First off I have not completed this game, but have put around 2.5 hours in so far. These are my initial first impressions and will update it once I have completed the game.

-So far the story is ok, but I would have like to see a little more backstory about the character and about what is going on.

-Gameplay is very fun and DIFFERENT, which is what I like about it. Some compare it to Mass Effect, but I haven't played them to compare the two. Picking which classes you want with you like medic, engineer, recon, commando, and then commanding them on the battlefield is a very nice change of pace in a shooter like this. However, sometimes there is so much going on you forget to fire a shot yourself.

-I have run into a few BUGS along the way, not to many to complain about. One of which my AI partner got stuck in a wall and I could not get him out to help me fight 10 enemies and an automatic turret.

-The Graphics aren't as polished as I would like them to be, but I may be nick picking.

I am close to acquiring an alien weapon and am curious to see what that brings on the fun side of the game. So Far I am liking this game and want to play it, so I will update as soon as I complete it! That is as long as I don't get sidetracked from playing Killzone Mercenary Beta on my Vita (another review when it comes out :)

I hope this will help someone out thinking about buying this game, It is a fun game, but just keep in mind that there is a strategy side to this game and its not just a shooter!

Update: 6-7 Hrs in the game is becoming Repetitive! It seems like the AI Agents won't shoot something unless you constantly tell them who or what to shoot at. With 10 to 15 enemies and having to babysit, it starts becoming more like work to play this game. I am hating to type this as 5 hrs ago in the game i was enjoying this factor, but as the enemies get a little harder, you need the help from your fellow agents who are yelling what do you need us to do Carter? The story also isn't bad but isn't the greatest so far either. I have found that after your character levels up, that you start to acquire powers/abilities such as lift (lift enemies from behind cover), and like this aspect of it; however, its still not enough to make up for this games flaws!

My Final Bottom Line:

I have not really played any XCOM Games because i am not into strategy games that much, but with this being a FPS/Strategy Game i gave it a chance. They could have made this game a whole lot better if they would have had the AI Characters to shoot and kill enemies with you! Then if you wanted them to focus fire or move to another position, then command them to.

This will probably turn into a DNF for me mostly due to it feels like work instead of playing, but to Strategy Fans out there, this might be your game!

Many had already played the Multi-player beta and most of the people loved it. Now, with the full release gamers will discover than there is more to this game than the MP.

First of all, Killzone Mercenary looks beautiful and runs without noticeable slowdowns on the PS Vita's impressive OLED screen. The game's graphic engine is a modified version of Killzone 3 rendering engine, a PS3 game. With some obvious textures and effects downscaling still, Mercenary is the best looking game on the PS Vita and the best looking portable FPS shooter I've ever had the delight of playing.

So, for those who were not able to enjoy the beta the multi-player is pretty much standard comparing it to a console game, you've got 3 modes (Mercenary Warfare, Guerilla Warfare, and Warzone). The first two modes were not available to play while the game was on closed and public beta. The first two modes are Death Match and Team Death Match respectively. Warzone is a team based mode with set strategic objectives in each of it's 5 rounds. You have to collect valor cards (dropped by an enemy when you kill it, or by an ally when it gets killed), interrogate enemies, hack van-guard capsules (twice), and kill as many enemies as you can. All of these 3 modes can be played in 6 decently proportioned maps. Multi-player is as robust as it gets for a handheld game: collectibles, ranks, a variety of weapons, and the van-guard modules.

Now, aside from the Multi-player mode, the game includes a 5-6 hour 9-mission single-player campaign that can be played in 3 difficulty levels plus contracts, which will take you back to single-player campaign missions to complete various objectives and get some extra money for it, which will help you to level up (leveling up depends on your total accumulated money) and buying new equipment from the arms dealer.

Money, money money... Everything you do on the game gives you money. From killing an enemy to just grabbing some ammo from the floor, you get a reward for almost everything you do in-game, in single-player mode and in multi-player mode. Your cash, equipment, and rank are shared between the single-player mode and the multi-player mode. This gives a chance to players that prefer to mostly play the single-player mode to enter a multi-player match whenever they want and not be humiliated by players who had been playing MP only and have already unlocked everything there is to unlock or max-leveled.

Unlike the two big shooter games that came for the PS Vita before it (Resistance: Burning Skies and Call Of Duty Black Ops II: Declassified)Killzone Mercenary has done it! It has created a console-like FPS experience on a handheld that has been through some tough times because of the lack of games like this. This game is a technical marvel and a game every PS Vita owner who enjoys FPS games should get. The reviews from the critics do not seem to get the fact that this is pretty much a revolutionary portable FPS done right, extremely right. In my humble opinion, the critics reviews absolutely DO NOT make this awesome game the justice it deserves. You just have to try it by yourself. I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed.

Killzone mercenary has had a lot of hype since it was announced a while back. Now, the game is here, and it is a must buy.

Story: the story is outstanding and takes place just after the ending of the original killzone. You take control of the mercenary name Arran Danner. No spoilers to the story, you'll find out after the evacuation of the ambassadors son what will happen. Although, it felt fairly linear. Overall 4/5

Gameplay:

A neat thing about this game is the options you have of whether going to be fighting with isa specialists or helghast forces. Also, you have a money reward system, which gives you money for Everything. That's pretty cool because you feel the progression, but it could've been toned down a bit.

Overall 4/5

Controls: the controls feel spot on with this game, and we could thank that to the 2nd analog stick and touch screen controls. I felt like everything was brought together in harmony. Overall 5/5

Presentation/graphics: the producers said mercenary is running on killzone 3's engine, and yeah, but it's been toned down a lot. The game will stutter occasionally, but only in heated combat. The graphics, I felt could be better, but are good.

Overall 4/5

Multiplayer; this is another stand out feature of this game with 3 modes and strong maps I felt this really nailed it. Felt fun and rewarding.

Overall 5/5

Replayability is totally here, thanks to rewards and troughs, and with multiplayer, makes a solid package.

Overall 5/5

Overall, killzone mercenary is a must buy, despite its minor flaws. It has a lot of things going for it. Would I recommend it? Yes. Should you buy it? Yeah! Stop reading reviews and go get it. The best experience on ps vita to date.

Killzone Mercenary is the Vita game we have been waiting for. This game is a battery killer because you wont want to put it down! You will be hooked for hours on the first play through until you get a headach like me! As soon as you start playing it you get excited because of how beautiful it looks and feels. It feels like a real FPS in the palm of your hands. It's fun, engaging and satisfying

Let's dive deeper:

Controlsthe controls feel great. The buttons are set up just like a FPS would be on the PS3. You can use the buttons or the touch screen/ rear touch pad. Touch the screen to open doors, pick up ammo, set a bomb, and kill your enemy with a mele. Also, you can use the rear touch pad to run faster. You think it would feel weird, but it actually works since your fingers are closer to the back pad than to the O button.

The only issue I have with the controls is that after playing for a while, my hands hurts. But I think that's only because playing multiplayer for a long time will do that to anyone.

GraphicsThis game looks like a console game. Maybe not as good as recent PS3 games, but at least as good (if not better) than older PS3 games. So just like every new console, the graphics will only get better from here. But don't get me wrong, the game looks beauitful as is. Multiplayer looks amazing! And the funny thing is, it looks better than Call of Duty game I have ever played on my PS3.

Multiplayer Multiplayer just has 3 modes. Pretty much it's Free For All, 4 vs 4 death match, and Warzone (which some of you played on the Beta) My favorite? The free for all! It is so fun to have that "every man for themselves" feeling. The scoring isn't by points. It's by cash. For every kill you get, you get cash that you can spend on new guns (same for story mode) The maps are wonderful! The one in the Beta felt small after a while, but the other maps feel too big for only 8 players. But they are fun to explore.

Spawning is fast and sometimes you will get killed as soon as you come back. But that never happened more than once in a match.

Single Player Haven't played more than the first mission, but it was really good. So far, the story seems pretty bad ass and its keeping it simple. It takes place between Killzone 1 and 2, so thats cool as well. I can't wait to play all the missions (even though I hear it's a short story).

Overall, as soon as you start playing this game you are going to realize it is one of the best games for the Vita. I can't wait to finish this review so I can go play it again!

It is simply amazing how beautiful this game is in the PS Vita. I still can't believe the game looks almost as good as its PS3 counterparts.

And most importantly, it is a lot if fun. The combat is fast, frantic, and challenging. The controls on the Vita work great and allow for some cool melee attacks with the touch screen.

Multiplayer is very smooth and varied enough to keep you coming back for more.

If you own a vita this game is must own. If you don't, it might be worth picking one up to play it.

My family actually bought this bundle solely to have a spare guitar, and this was the coolest guitar available. However, the first one that arrived had a sticking strum bar. I did some research, and it appears that there have been a number of people who had the same issue with various GH guitars. There's a replacement strum bar available online for $7, but I was within my 30 day purchase period, so took it back. The second guitar works perfectly.

I don't normally give reviews, but I thought this one needed some positive feedback.

The controller is (as someone else said) basically a PS2 controller. Although it does have PS button to use for the XMB menu. As stated, it does not have tilt sensors and requires a USB port. However, the controller works very well and since I have 1 game that uses tilt controls optionally (Warhawk), I didn't see this as a drawback. However, one should keep this in mind when they make the purchase. It is a great controller to pick up if you won't require tilt, as it is $20 less than the OEM Sony controller.

The lack of bluetooth means 2 things: 1) You cannot turn the PS3 on with this controller, and 2) it requires a USB port to operate. No big deal.

Another plus of this controller is that it works with the PC. I plugged it right in to my PC using WinXP and Ubuntu and both picked it up fine. Nice bonus.

So, if you don't need tilt and don't have issues with using a USB dongle, this is a great buy.

Obviously it doesn't have six axis and you can't turn on the system but you can turn it off. But the controller is a little bit heavier and it feels a little wider because the outer grips are more narrow shaped. I laid one on top the other (Sony) and it's very noticeable. This controller is also taller because of the battery housing which for me it feels like there is more reach or space in between when using the L/R buttons on top and triggers on the bottom. Compared to the Sony controller this one also has a bit more plastic and that added with the weight of the batteries makes it feel more durable. So if you got bigger hands or you like to have a firm grip for me this controller felt a little bit more comfortable and definitely worth the reduced cost. By the way, I have used this to play through more than a handful of PS3 games and it works great.

Buy Logitech PlayStation 3 Cordless Precision Controller Now

Well I'm not quite sure why everyone says this controller doesn't let them get to the PS3 menu's with a "PS3" button because it sure works for me.

Here's why I like it :

1. It feels bigger and more solid than the PS3 wireless controller. (To me the original Syaxis is too small and feels cheap).

2. It seems to move smoother in shooters, more accurate as well.

3. It's a piece of cake to plug-in and get working. And it stays working you don't have to relink it every time.

4. So far the battery life seems very good.

Much better solution for me...

Good Luck!

Read Best Reviews of Logitech PlayStation 3 Cordless Precision Controller Here

I must state ahead of time that I'm not a fan of the official Sony PS3 controller as I find it to be too light in my hands. I'm always on the lookout for a second controller that feels right. This Logitech controller is a mixed bag of good and bad. First, the good. The controller is a little heavier than the standard pad, and feels really good in your hands. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's more solid, but it's definitely heavier and the ergonomics are nice. The analog sticks are far superior to the standard pad, as they don't give as easily. Aside from this, however, the cons war outweigh the pros. The D-Pad feels extremely loose and has an audible click with every press, which is never a good sign for a controller. The face buttons are alright, but the shoulder buttons are just off. L1 & R1 feel very loose and also click, but L2 & R2 don't give enough -you really have to force them down to get the full range of the triggers. When it comes to intangibles, this controller does not feature any motion sensitivity or force feedback. It does have a feature that allows you to switch the function of the D-Pad with the left analog stick, but it doesn't translate as well as I would have hoped. All in all, this is a decent second controller for your PS3. Highly recommended for shooter fans because of the analog sticks, but everyone else should be cautious. The D-Pad is unforgivable.

EDIT: After spending a bit more time with this controller, I'm starting to like it more and more. The added weight really is a huge advantage, and the triggers are awesome once you get used to them. I'm still not a fan of the D-pad, but luckily 95% of the games out there mainly use the analog sticks. If the PS3's stock controller isn't your cup of tea, I would definitely recommend this to just about anyone.

Want Logitech PlayStation 3 Cordless Precision Controller Discount?

I got this controller on sale for about half the price of a new Dualshock 3, and I'm happy to say that it's actually really good. Logitech continues the tradition of quality products. The controller is much more comfortable to hold than the Sixaxis and it has far superior analog sticks, especially if you're going to use it to play shooters. This was a serious aid to my SOCOM game (or lack thereof). I was pleased with the overall quality of this controller. It can even be used to play PS2 games, which most third-party PS3 controllers cannot. It uses a USB dongle to connect to the PS3, so you never lose connection, and so far the battery life has been great (1 month with one set of batteries). It also has the PS button to interact with the Ps3's system functions.

It also has a couple of bonus features: there is a button that lets you switch the function of the left analog stick and d-pad, so you can move or whatever with the d-pad in games that normally don't let you. I personnally don't use this but it's now the only way my girlfriend will play Need For Speed.

The other bonus feature is that because it's USB instead of bluetooth, you can use it as a PC controller! I plugged it into my laptop and was playing Super Metroid in no time with zero set-up! You don't even have to install drivers!

There are a couple of drawbacks, however. One, you have to use AAs or your own rechargeable batteries, (it comes with 2) there is no built in battery. on the up side, you don't have to plug it into your PS3 every other time you play like the DualShock 3.

Also, there's no rumble or motion sensing. I don't play a single game that makes use of the motion sensing, so I don't even count that against the Logitech. Rumble is more preference than anything, personally, I don't even know it's gone most of the time, but you're experience might be different.

Because it's USB, you can't use it to turn on the PS3 (big deal, get your lazy butt off the couch) but you can use it to turn it off.

Finally, while L2 and R2 are analog, they're set on very stiff springs, it can be difficult to hold them down. I used this controller to race the 24 hours at Le Mans in Grid and my right hand was actually tired afterward.

Aside from these relatively minor things, this is a quality controller. None of the buttons feel cheap and the joysticks are far superior to the stock controller. In my opinion this combined with the excellent price makes it a worthy if not superior alternative to the DualShock 3

I was quite skeptical when I bought this, but it has proved useful and a lot of fun! I started out burning small bushes and shrubs. Unfortunately as I was chasing the neighbors cat out of my yard I set my house on fire. In a panic, I tried to put the fire out with the flame thrower like it was a fire extinguisher. My first foray into next generation games came when I bought a Nintendo Wii after Christmas of '07. It wasn't too big of a deal because the Wii was made with Standard Definition TVs in mind. When I moved from Hawaii to California a few months later, I found myself purchasing an XBox 360 Elite and a 42-inch LCD HDTV. Then the Playstation 3, a Component cable for the Wii and then upgrading my cable box to HD, and then a Component cable for the new PSP Slim.

With all this, I ran out of inputs for my TV, especially Component inputs.

I had been searching around for an HDMI/Component switch for several months, but had found none. I had asked people in the know, but was directed to standalone HDMI OR Component switches. I thought that finding an AFFORDABLE switch that handled both Composite and HDMI was going to be impossible, and got to the point that I would have to buy one of each. Before I committed, I did one last google search that eventually led me to the Intec G5239.

The G5239 can take in 2 HDMI inputs as well as 4 Component. Each of these inputs also come with an Ethernet jack and an Optical In. There is also 1 Composite input in the front of the unit (the 4 Component jacks can also take in Composite input, FYI).

You can also name each input instead of the default INPUT 1, INPUT 2, INPUT 3, etc. So it's very handy for people who aren't videophiles or gadget geeks, like your parents or your girlfriend. ;-)

For my setup, I have as follows:

INPUT 1-4 (Component)

1 EMPTY

2 PSP Component OUT cable

3 Xbox Original running the HD AV Pack

4 Nintendo Wii w/ Component OUT

INPUT 5-6 (HDMI)

5 XBox 360 Elite

6 PS3

INPUT 7 (Composite)

7 EMPTY

All HDMI inputs displayed at the maximum 1080P resolution. All Component inputs displayed at the maximum resolution set, whether it was 480i, 480p, 720p, or 1080i. Images looked no different as when they were connected straight to my HDTV.

If you are a into video games, then Intec is a name that you should be familiar with. They are makers of aftermarket videogame accessories like controllers, memory cards, cables, and AV Selectors. I usually rank them ahead of Pelican and Mad Catz for their quality.

So with that said, the Intec G5239 is perfect and is THE CHOICE for those that demand excellent quality at a reasonable price. If you're in a similar situation as I was and are looking for a solution, look no further. Here's your answer (and this is the answer because I researched it for MONTHS! ;-)).

Good piece of gear. Lets me switch between any of my several devices from the couch instead of having to get up. My laziness can continue uninterrupted! It was easy to set up and I haven't had any issues with it yet. (It's been about 2 months)

I bought a couple of these units recently from a dealer and kept one for myself to use for the myriad gaming devices that I have. It works perfectly and having the remote control means I don't have to get off of the couch to change inputs.

It's just a shame that Intec chose to make such an incredibly thought-out and functional, yet IN A PRACTICAL SENSE, DIS-FUNCTION product. (For most users). Specifically ... This mostly awesome A/V switch does NOT perform conversion of various video formats. IN OTHER WORDS ... Your input video format POTENTIAL (i.e.: HDMI, Component, S-Video, etc) OF ANY AND ALL OF YOUR INPUT SOURCES, is only as good as EXACTLY the specific output connection you plan to use to feed your final display device. If you plan to use the Component video output from this nearly awesome A/V switch to feed your final display device ... Well, then ALL 4 (to potentially 7) OF YOUR SOURCE INPUTS MUST BE THAT VERY SAME FORMAT ... `COMPONENT'. !!!NO VIDEO FORMAT CONVERSION!!! (major bummer for my needs).

PLEASE NOTE:

Now, if by chance your final display device happens to be a TV with at least one available HDMI, AND Component, AND S-Video, AND Composite input, then you would be in great shape!!! (no problem)

Unfortunately, no one before now has thought to help out the rest of us, by sharing this information.

SUMMARY: This truly could be an amazing A/V switch for many of you. It's cosmetic appearance is very sleek and sexy. It's form factor makes it very practical for 'Racking/Stacking' with other components. Heck ... They've even included network/internet ports for each of the first 6 inputs! (very impressive). But sadly, it's missing just one very critical component ... Cross-conversion of the different video formats.

I purchased this as a replacement for my "pelican" brand input selector. In short, the image quality of this is worse than the pelican brand and the remote never worked. I sent an e-mail to customer service and was informed that someone would get back to me within 4-6 weeks. Well it has been 5 weeks now and no one has replied. I wish I had returned this right away instead of keeping it.

The way I see the Tony Hawk series is like this: from THPS to THUG 2, Neversoft was running a marathon, and they were doing really well, too. Then, in 2005, Neversoft tripped by making American Wasteland, which wasn't necessarily a bad game, it just wasn't nearly as good as the others. Now, the eighth installment in the series has come, and I have to admit I'm a little disappointed. At E3, they said that Tony Hawk's Project 8 would be returning to the roots of the Tony Hawk series, and I interpreted that to mean that it would be like a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. I bought the game and played it. The graphics weren't as good as I expected, but they didn't suck. Overall, Neversoft could have done a bit more polish on this game, and it's definitely not worth $600, but it's a solid entry in the series, and anybody who has been a TH fan since the beginning should give it a whirl.

Ok, first off I have TH3, TH:Underground, TH:AWL all for the PS2. I was impressed by American Waste Lands amount of content and levels. Project 8 doesn't have as much content (No level building or real character creation), but what it serves out it well worth it. They revamped the system and that takes developement time. The open-end game play on the PS3 is sweet. I played the game on the PS2, but was not impressed and didn't think I'd get it due to the lack of content. I purchased a PS3 and was limited to option so I purchased Project 8 and to be able to skate from the residential district to the skatepark to the school and then to the city busting out tricks all along the way is sweet and provides a new experience to Skateboarding on consoles. You can just go on forever. After this I can't wait to see what comes next. If for the Xbox360 or the PS3 the game is well worth it.

I have been playing the Tony Hawk games since the first one on Playstation. I however, stopped keeping up after THUG came out. Recently I purchased a PS3, and wanted a newer THPS game. I ended up choosing Project 8, because of the price and people didn't seem to like Proving Ground. I was horribly disappointed with this game. First of all, you can't disable auto-kick, which is a huge let down for anyone who actually skates. Also, the semi-realistic scaling achieved in THUG, has seem to disappear completely. Second, they removed some of the most iconic skaters from the game, THPS without Reynolds, gimme a break. Third, the game is rated T for teen, but game play seems to have been created with children in mind. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone who skates, or is over the age of 12.

This is a great game and you can get it for an unbeatable price on Amazon. I have been addicted to it for a few weeks now and cant stop. The "Nail a Trick" aspect is awesome and the different areas of the game have incredible detail. The goals are challenging but doable. The graphics of the characters in the goal minivideos could be better but thats not why im playing the game and you shouldn't be playing for that either. Classic THPS gameplay that doesnt disappoint.

Tony Hawk's Project 8 tries to go back to the basics of what made the first games so likable, while still keeping a "story" for those who thought that was a good addition. The game has a simple story, the "classic" goals as well as tons of others, and is just plain fun to play. In holding true to the Tony Hawk's series you can string together tons and tons of tricks and there are even a few new ones that you haven't been able to do in previous games to rack up points, to complete goals, to eventually become one of the top 8 skaters and join Tony Hawk's new crew. This game is fun to play, has great graphics, and was worth the $19.99 price. If your a fan of the other games, you will like this one too.

I've had it for a day. The thumbsticks are a little small but I dont have a problem with them. It will work with ps 1 and 2 games on the ps3. My biggest complaint is that there is no turbo feature which is one of the things I wanted. I should have read more carefully when I bought it. I just saw turbo in the title and went with that. Still I think its a good replacement for a ordinary ps3 controller for the price (less than $30). If anything changes in the near future I'll update this review.
