First lets get the bad out of the way. This game is in Japanese with no English, so some level of understating of the Japanese language is necessary to enjoy this game fully. Being nearly deaf, I have to depend on the Japanese subtitles which is quite riddled with Kanji, so it's not exactly beginner reading. However for those with normal hearing, I think there is an option to turn on voices, so that should help considerable for those who are more familiar with the spoken language. If this doesn't scare you away from this game, then read on. If you want a small taste of a similar type of game in English, I recommend checking out 'Attack of The Friday Monsters, A Tokyo Tale,' for the N3DS. Though not identical, the game-play and art style is very similar.

Boku No Natsuyasumi 3 is a wonderful game that would be worthwhile to check out by fans of games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. In it, you play a young boy who is going to spend his summer vacation with his Uncle's family on his father side while his parents are getting ready for the arrival of a new baby. Each day of the game passes much like the days pass in Harvest Moon. At it's heart, this is really a game about reliving childhood, goofing off and doing all the carefree things a child of this age would do, such as fishing, catching bugs, exploring, playing with friends and helping out on his Uncle's farm. In fact there are so many things to find and do in this game that I feel it would risk spoiling the fun to mention any more than the basics.

Graphically this game is a delight to the eyes. It remind me very much of Studio Gibli's movies, so if you're a fan of those, then this game will make you feel like you're the protagonist in a Gibli film. I can't really be an authority on the sounds of the game because as I mentioned before, I am hearing impaired, but what I can hear has been very charming.

One thing I should mention is that I bought my game new for $40. With a bit of searching, it's not particularly hard to find this game around that price, maybe even cheaper if you are lucky. Unless you like throwing money away, beware of import scammers.

If the Japanese doesn't scare you and you enjoy life simulation style games, then I highly recommend this one. At worse, if you're a student of Japanese, but find this game to be above your level, you'll have a cool game to put on your game shelf that you'll eventually be able to pull out and enjoy someday.

Acceptable for what it is, great for the price. Really good way to keep track of your controllers, and looks pretty spiffy too. It's a bit difficult to get the top controller in place, especially when the bottom one is on. However it works fine (gets everything charged), and is a great thing to have around if you have multiple controllers.

The component cables experience for the PS2. High-Quality games like Resident Evil 4 with progressive scan look visibly sharper and more vibrant and you can make out more detail especially in distant objects and text. Unfortuantely, it has an issue where I lose video for a moment every now and then. I cannot comment on the supplied HDMI cable. However, it does seem like an added-value having one.

Even without progressive, it the component cable makes a difference. I put in Fantastic 4 and looked at the bonus content comic-book covers have readable text now. It is interesting they put the detail in the game but the standard cables can't take advantage of it. I also fund the motion to be significantly improved (even without progressive). Some of the Chopping or frame-loss I thought was a result of the PS2's hardware limitations was resolved with the upgraded cables!

The trouble came with losing video occasionally. I lose the signal (resulting in a completely black screen) about once every 1/2 hour to hour for about 3 seconds with the cable. Truthfully, it is not that bad. I just look at it like one more enemy in the game. But when my friends come over to play, one of them really complains about it. He says it is terrible and ruins his chance to play his best. He says I should just use the stock composite cables and not look back.

So I love the cables, but my friend crabs at me :p

Can't really say much about a cable, but honestly for the price, I expected a minimal to non-existent improvement, but holy cow was I wrong. The difference between using this cable and the supplied AV cable is literally out of this world. AND it comes with a free HDMI cable, which, between it and my other HDMIs, some of which are "high quality name brands", I can tell no difference.

Ok.. I realize it was cheap and didn't expect it to be thick gauge or super high quality but... did expect it to work. Have tried playing with the wires to check if its just a simple short and did get a very distorted, off color image for a second but then nothing again.

Sure these cables worked for my ps3, and they allowed me to go up to 1080i, my tv doesnt have 1080p.

However these cables will give off very bright tones of colors, making it seem like your tv's contrast is too high when it is not, no matter how much I tried to adjust every setting of my tv/ps3 nothing worked. No matter what you do details will be lossed, and they are bright enough to hurt my eyes. They even made some of my text unreadable. Thus I had to return back to my composite RCA cables which gave me accurate colors, and much better picture when I was only at 480i. I will be looking for other high quality cables.

The HDMI cables I cannot review as my tv's insert for hdmi is broken.

Want Premium High Resolution Component AV Cable + HDMI Cable Discount?

Bought these cables only to find out that the red wire of the component cable doesn't display at all. I tried multiple tv's and a variety of other solutions, all of which failed.

I would suggest going to a different manufacturer for a PS3 component cable.

Having played a few previous GTA 3 and GTA Vice City, I can say that I had never been impressed with Grand Theft Auto. Often, the open world would leave me bored as I would not be drawn into the story enough to keep moving forward. Combined with the time necessary to travel, repetitiveness of the missions, I felt as though I would never play open world games again.

After much time though, I saw the trailer for Grand Theft Auto V. The trailer looked stunning featuring planes, scuba diving, and multiple playable characters. After reading about the improvements Rockstar, the developer, has made in other games (Red Dead Redemption, Midnight Club, and LA Noir) I knew that it would be unfair to write this off as "just another GTA". Upon putting in the disc (PS3), you are greeted with an 8GB installation. This took about 15 minutes on my PS3 Slim, your mileage may vary though. The game immediately begins with the characters in a fantastic tutorial that not only introduces some characters, but also gets you intrigued by the plot early. The tutorial is interesting and fun, though the tutorial text in the upper left of the screen was hard to read on my screen (1080i on a 42" Plasma TV). This was easily supplemented / fixed by the print manual or the iOS "GTA Manual" application but did lead to an unnecessary death rather early in the game.

Upon playing this, you immediately will notice that many of the controls have been refined in comparison to previous GTA games. The shooting feels much tighter (it's easier to aim clearly and quickly, switching weapons is simple and doesn't get in the way), the driving is better (cars and trucks feel as though they drive like the type of car they are. Sports car handle amazingly while a tow truck is much slower and harder to maneuver). This makes for a much more enjoyable experience and thus far in my travels have fixed the issues I have had.

Unlike previous games, this also features one huge update, a quick save/autosave which fixes the need to drive for 15 minutes each time you fail a mission. Now, you can pick it back up and keep trying making the game more involved and less repetitious.

The graphics in Los Santos, the city in which GTA V occurs, are fantastic. Explosions feature depth and clarity, the characters are well detailed and thus far I have not seen any technical issues where textures appear randomly. The views from the different parts of the city are amazing as well, with nice sunsets and sunrise, beautiful villas, and more.

The audio is fantastic as well, featuring Dolby Digital surround sound, which uses all the speakers to create a wonderful and involving soundtrack. Whether providing off-screen directional cues, subtle background noise, or enveloping you in your favorite radio station, Grand Theft Auto V provides a wonderful soundstage.

Overall Grand Theft Auto V feels like a new game. With the revised controls, improved graphics, and new mechanics, I feel like this game address most if not all of the biggest issues I have with open world video games. The story thus far is captivating and enticing and is keeping me coming back for more. I would highly recommend this game even if you do not consider yourself a huge fan of previous entries into the series. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I am.

First off, this is NOT a game for anyone under 18! Honestly, I can be pretty crude myself, and this game was so shocking and so off-color at first I almost quit playing it. I had to remind myself that this game's intent is to shock and push the envelope, so I continued on and I am so glad I did. Once you get past the first two hours of the "shock" value, the story gets very good, the missions are fun, and even the crudeness dies down. (Mind you there are still parts that will make you cringe, however I think you need to be in the mindset that this game is trying to push your buttons (sorry for the pun). Once I got into the game, i played for 3 days, 10 hours straight and I am only 50% complete at this time. The game is HUGE, and you can always find something to do. I cannot warn you enough to not buy for your kids, even if they are mature; this is hard to take in even as an adult. Make sure you play where no one can hear you as if they don't know the content of the story, they will think you lost your mind or get offended.

If your an adult gamer, and have an open mind, you will love this game.

Game is fun, blueprint map is high quality and had a nice little secret on it, metal case looks great. The in-game items aren't that great and are a bit of a letdown but aside from that the whole package is fantastic.

GTA V for me isn't like other games such as the Last of Us or Halo, because while it does have a central story the majority of the memorable moments I had came from just messing around in the game doing your own thing and just having fun experimenting. I've put my thoughts below on each aspect of the game.

STORY

GTA V takes place in a fictional Southern California with some bits of Nevada thrown in to round things out. You experience the story from the perspective of 3 central characters: 1) Michael, the retired bank-robber being pulled back into his old life, 2) Franklin, the street hustler who's got dreams of moving up into the big-time, 3) Trevor, the sociopath drug-dealing best friend of Michael from his bank-robbing days. The general story takes place with the 3 characters all being brought together by bigger events that keep adding up as you play the game. The execution of how the characters are portrayed feels accurate, and its fun getting to have such different mission types between the 3 characters. There is now the option to retry missions and try things out differently next time too with gold rankings to shoot for in each. And don't worry about getting frustrated over some levels which have annoying sequences that you just can't get past fail a part of a mission 3 times and you get the option to skip it. While the storyline itself was sound in terms of game design, I felt that it frankly wasn't a very original story and at times to me felt predictable and cliche. This goes back to my main point that the best part of GTA V isn't the campaign story, it's everything else it's got to offer.

GAMEPLAY

The dynamic switching between the 3 characters really adds a new layer of immersion and variety to the gameplay. Each character starts out with their own skillset, and kind of like Skyrim the more you perform any given activity the better you'll get at it. You drive more to improve your character's driving ability, take flying lessons to get better at flying, run/bike/swim more to build up your stamina, etc. It feels like a very natural process and kind of gives the player goals to work towards as you play the game. The shooting mechanic by default comes with a very generous auto-aim, that makes the game almost too easy in terms of combat, though you can change this. There is a great variety of weapons this time around, with plenty of customization and a shooting range to try them out on.

Driving in terms of technical game design is built fine. The main issue comes from the cars that you have available to use. In fact there are only a handful of cars I even bother looking for to drive because the rest handle so poorly. Part of that I get is by design, since a prius isn't going to handle corners like a dodge viper. Still, I can't help but feel like a lot of the cars I expected to be great to drive felt like a mess on the road (I'm talking about cars like the Diablo aka. Lambo rip-off). I even maxed out my driving skill to make sure it wasn't something missing on my end, but my experience with the cars has been a unfortunate mixed bag. I am very happy with the few cars I did think handle well, and upgraded them immediately and haven't had many issues since then. I personally absolutely hated flying other vehicles like helicopters and especially planes, but I didn't really spend much time practicing flying either.

Special abilities for each character keep things fresh, with Franklin getting a mode where he can slow things down while driving and make precision maneuvers, Trevor getting a rage mode where he can take more and dish out more damage, and Michael getting his own combat boost too. All in all, the gameplay is sound mechanically though it doesn't exactly do much to stand out aside from the special abilities either (which you could argue are borrowed from previous games like Max Payne and others).

SIDE MISSIONS/RANDOM EVENTS

This was by far one of the more engaging parts of the game for me, mostly because of how ridiculous some of they are. Side missions range from the standard stuff like assassinations and street races to new ones like bounty hunting, Trevor's "rage" missions, stealing celebrities clothing, to paparazzi stalking. Side missions are often unique to specific characters, and encourages you to try out and advance each character through each one. I frankly loved them because of just how ridiculous they were and how different they are from the standard stuff you've seen in previous open-world games including previous GTA games. The dialogue and banter on these kinds of missions is just great, and really adds a lot to flesh out the game and make it more immersive. There are also random characters you can encounter that give you some of these side activities and missions (again, specific to each character) and there are also random events that happen like robberies or car thefts that you can choose to intervene in or not. This is very similar to what Rockstar did in Red Dead Redemption with random strangers asking you for help on the road-side that you can choose to help or ignore. You can even stop a thief and keep the stolen money for yourself if you want.

HEISTS

The big heists are what are always shown off in the game trailers, and they are definitely plenty of fun because of the planning you have to do before you can pull it off. You get to do everything from picking your crew, opting for the more qualified but higher cost members or going for the cheaper ones of questionable quality. Even how you set-up the heist matters, and will give you different results/rewards based on how well you pull things off. It gives you a great reason to go back and try things differently with a replay, and frankly makes it feel like a more authentic experience similar to most crime movies. The great set-piece moments keep things fun, though like most things they lose a bit of their luster after you've seen it the first few times. I love the fact that you can switch around between the characters on the heists, and see things from a different perspective and always get to try out the really cool parts of each heist that each character gets to do. Not much else I can say about the heists beyond this, since I want to keep this fairly spoiler free.

IMMERSION/THE WORLD OF GTA

Rockstar did a fantastic job recreating Los Angeles, speaking as someone living in LA right now. All the big recognizable landmark locations are there, from the Griffith Observatory to the Promenade and the Hollywood sign. When I say they have it down, I mean I was able to literally walk to the exact area where I took a picture at the observatory overlooking downtown, down to the staircase and pillars. They did their homework, and it absolutely shows in several parts of the game. There are lots of activities to do including shopping, tennis (one of my favorites), yoga, golf, hunting, marathons, mountain biking, flying, shooting, etc. There's plenty to keep you entertained for a while, and that's not counting other things like playing the stocks or buying up real-estate. I love how tied together the world is, and it feels like you're living in a continuously moving world that's reacting to your actions. For example, if you lets say go out of your way to deface/devalue a company and buy up stock in their competitor you can catch the news to see stock prices jump around and reap the rewards. Even just switching between the characters shows them going on living their lives when you're not controlling them. Trevor was driving around still in a semi-truck from a mission that he was in when I was playing as Michael.

It's the little details like that which go a long way to making you feel like Los Santos is a living breathing world. Even just taking a walk around town and overhearing strangers can give you a good laugh, not to mention going in to see a shrink. It's because of how great a job Rockstar does with the little things that it makes it all the more apparent when they do drop the ball. There are a lot of buildings you can't go into, and plenty you cannot interact with. I went down to the Santa Monica pier and couldn't go into the main restaurants there, or go into many restaurants anywhere really. This isn't like Skyrim where nearly every person you run across has a story to tell. What GTA does offer is great, it's just a shame that after 5 years in development there's not more of it. The world size itself is huge, though to be fair the actual city part of it isn't exactly huge and sprawling. I appreciate all the wilderness and desert terrain since it adds some diversity in my opinion, but some people might find it boring.

GRAPHICS AND SOUND

The graphics are absolutely a solid step above GTA IV. But honestly compared to other games out today this isn't anything to write home about. I found the facial animations for anyone outside of the main characters to be very lacking in cutscenes and gameplay alike. But I understand that concessions have to be made to run such a huge open world without load times (except for the really long one when you first start it up). It's not an ugly game by any means, and there's a lot of great looking parts to it. It runs incredibly smoothly on what is now pretty old hardware for the consoles, and that's a great achievement. Rockstar clearly put in some serious time for optimization on the framerate front and it is much appreciated. It helps keep things rolling even in high action scenes unlike many other open-world games that start to chug.

The sound design is absolutely fantastic, from the radio station selections to the voiceover quality and variety. Rockstar clearly put in some extra money here and it shows, with the game always feeling authentic sound-wise from street sounds to cars to environmental noises in the wilderness. Rockstar absolutely nailed this, and I think it'll absolutely set a bar for future open-world games to hit. One slight downside is that listening to the same few radiostations means you're probably going to know every song the station can play pretty early on into the game. Not the biggest deal in the world, but more songs are always appreciated and they could easily be updated with new DLC content down the road too.

ONLINE/MULTIPLAYER

This is the main reason why I haven't given GTA a 5 star rating, because how GTA Online is going to play out is largely unknown. While based on the trailer it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, it's simply not out yet for me to pass judgement on and so I'm going to defer giving my final score until I see what Rockstar has to offer on this front.

WRAP-UP

GTA V is a lot of fun with a rich open-world to explore and keep yourself entertained in for hours on end. Is it perfect, no, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a lot to offer. It's the random crazy things that happen to you along the way that I remember most. Here's 1 of my most memorable moments. I started out driving down sunset blvd in a new mercedes SL that I just bought for Franklin since he just wrapped up a big heist and had some spending money. I got it all tricked out with the latest engine upgrades and a fresh paint job to top it off. As I pulled out of the auto-shop my screen flashed and the opportunity came up for me to stop a thief. So I did my civic duty and ran the guy down in my shiny new car and went to bring the poor guy his wallet. What ends up happening is a car I didn't see rams into me and pushes me into the poor guy waiting for his wallet and the police car sirens started to screech. I was already up at 2 stars and they were gunning right behind me. Thankfully I had my upgraded car to help me make a quick getaway at first, but then some cop cars slid around to stop me and I accidentally rammed right into several street cops at a barrier, up to 4 stars. Now the cops were really gunning for me, and I ended up driving up a parking structure all the way to the top to help avoid the chopper on my tail. I shot out the pilot of the chopper and saw it crash down into some more cop and FBI cars below, 5 stars. Only way off that roof was courtesy of a stunt ramp which I happily revved up my engine to take. After gunning it for the jump I ended up doing a flip and landing perfectly (completely by accident), and making my way to a construction site to hide out. I found a nice little corner tucked away from site, and decided to go and check my stocks, make a few trades, and rush right back out to avoid the cop car getting a little too close. I end up making a run for the mountains hitting ever winding turn at near top speed thanks to my car's upgrades. I see a nice place in the woods to go hide the car and watch the choppers and FBI scramble around to find me. Then I get out of my car, behind the "Hollywood" sign and take in the sights before making my way back to Franklin's mansion. That was all a completely unscripted random event, and though it doesn't always work out this neatly it sure it a lot of fun every time.

What can you really say about the GTA series, every new title just steps the franchise up to the next level. I did not expect much from this game as I felt they had reached the max capabilities of the current generation of consoles, but my god did they prove me wrong. If you want to be truly awe struck just get the game, go to the beach and watch the water. It is so lifelike that you will be questioning if you are really playing a video game. Rockstar really did their homework with this one, it is a beautiful world that has plenty to do.

The story line and characters in the game are just as amazing as the enviroment itself, you really get drawn into the characters problems and you feel as though you have a lot on the line.

If you are looking for a game that has no limits, this is the one for you. San Andreas really is a world all of its own, you have the choice to do whatever it is you would like, from flying to driving, to jogging or yoga, this game really has something for everyone.

Wow! That pretty much describes this game. Where to begin ...

Visuals: The first thing that will strike you is just how beautiful this game is. Every visual aspect of the game has been lovingly constructed, and it shows. There is a lot of great lighting, and the visuals really set the mood for the game.

Sound: Amazing! The alternates between haunting, wistful, and hectic (battle music) but its always beautiful. Never overbearing, always setting the mood ... its been a long time since I've heard game music this beautiful. Really, words cannot describe how good some of the songs are.

Plot: Great! Wow, finally a game with a GREAT plot. And I do mean great plot. It advances at an appropriate pace, and the 'chapters' that the game is broken up to make the experience of playing the game like reading a good book ... especially towards the end. I read some reviewers blasting the game for gratuitous text and while there is a lot of text, I found it to be the best part of the game. It really was like I was reading a book at points, except the book happens to have beautiful graphics and visuals to go along with it. And this is not a bad thing; in facts its a very good thing. That I can compare the experience of playing this game to reading a good book speaks volumes (ha, pun) to the depth and intricacy of the plot. This isn't just a pretty looking button masher this is a game with soul.

Action: Lots of action if thats your thing ... I actually found myself wishing there was less of it, so I could progress the plot quicker. That said, I do like collecting things in game, so I did get all of the special items, which slowed me down a bit. The action in the game is fun, and fast-paced. However, there are so many folks that you can potentially get, most of them really aren't going to see play. You'll have a few favorites and then some 'special' ones for special occasions. Which is sort of sad, but nothing to really do about that.

Format: I mentioned how the game is divided into chapters before ... this is a really great innovation (I'm not sure if its been done before) in my opinion. After a long hard day of work, I really don't have time to spend hours and hours playing in a sitting ... even on weekends I do have other obligations. Chapters allow me to play manageable chunks, accomplish something, and then go on the next night without feeling like I just paused the game for a day. I had the chance to just play through chapters without taking a break, and that worked really well too. Like reading a good book, the chapters would end at a suspenseful moment, and since you are switching off between Ellen and Keats you get a really good flow going.

Conclusion: This game is great. Hands down one of the best games I've played for any platform. It made me glad I dropped hundreds on a PS3 instead of an XBox 360. However, if you have a short attention span, or just want mindless killing, or some such thing skip this title, its not for you. If like intricate plots, stunning environments, and beautiful music (with a little action thrown in to spice things up) then go and buy this game right away. I cannot recommend this title highly enough it simply blew me away.

I honestly cannot think of any negatives for this game. The only thing that is a remote negative is that the downloadable content is not yet available in the USA. If you're in PAL territory or Japan (maybe all of Asia, not sure) its available though. Also, replay value is not super high once you know the plot you know the plot. However, its is without a doubt worth the money and worth the play-through.

I had the good fortune to play this game on an excellent 1080p hdtv (more than capable of handling the 720p format this game is in), and it really made a difference. While of course you'll still have an amazing experience on any TV, when a game has such stunning visuals as this one does make an effort to play it on an HDTV if you can. :)

So go and buy and play this game ... and have fun! :)

Okay. I Love this game!!! The fighting sequences are not complicated in any way. Sometimes (always with the boss fights) you have to figure out how to beat the enemies by evaluating a picture. But this is also an easy task.

I have to say whoever made this has a wonderful immagination! I am always interested to find out what the next foe looks like! And the story lines are fun to solve. My attention is never lost.

This is the perspective of a 15 year old female...so I dunno how this will fare with others.

Buy Folklore Now

Folklore is truly a sight for sore eyes. Its a brilliantly told story about a girl named Ellen and a guy named Keatz. You can play both sides of their tale.

The cut scenes are shown in several different ways. One of which is a very interesting comic-book style. Each and ever cut scene is well done and tells the part of the story they are telling very well.

In story, theres a murder in Doolin, the town of the dead, and you must find out why there was a murder while finding out about your past.

Gameplay-wise the game plays well both as an action adventure game with RPG elements tacked on which work great. Only problem is that whenever you switch out your powers there's about a 5 second pause in the action.

If you are wondering about the game download or find someone with the demo on their PlayStation 3.

Folklore for the ps3 is a ACTION game with very minor rpg elements thrown in. Simply put the action is similar to that of the Kingdom Hearts series, you use a variety of combos to take out your foes. There is no traditional jrpg menu driven combat system in this game. Hence an action/hack n slash title. The reason why this game leans towards rpg is because you can select the types of attacks that you have on hand to use from a variety of attacks that you accumulate throughout the game. Its strong points are the very well executed combat system and the top notch design/graphics/visuals. Where the game falls short is the lack of rpg elements, and a lackluster story. I will elaborate in detail in the following paragraphs.

What is interesting about the combat system is the distinct use of the enemies you defeat. For example the first time you take down the "horned bull" and absorb its "spirit" you can then attack using this spirit and the "horned bull" is visually represented during your attack a few feet in front of your character, visually this is very neat. Furthermore linking together combos from various spirits makes for some distinct gameplay that in my opinion far surpasses the extremely repetitive nature of combat found in games like Kingdom Hearts. There is allot of room for creativity in how and when you combine your attacks/spirits. The combat is very fun and beautifully executed visually, if you are a fan of fantasy styled visuals you will not be disappointed.

Which leads me to what strikes me most about this game, the over all art design and wonderful use of color. The many environments, and various foes look just fantastic. Design wise I would describe the look and feel of this game as Hansel and Gretel meets Final Fantasy meets Wizard of Oz. Very distinct traditional story book vibe meets modern fantasy feel which had me deeply absorbed for the first 5 hours or so simply due to the solid combat and the distinctly gorgeous visuals. Though like most things beautiful that lack "heart", over time the flaws begin to outweigh the visual beauty.

When I said this game is NOT an rpg that is because it isn't in the traditional sense. Your character is in one very small town throughout the game and you interact with a very limited number of characters that you must interact with to unlock the next action driven playable area. There is no open world, various towns, player defined pacing of game play. Which is not a big deal to me, just do not go in with the expectation of jrpg styled exploration. This game is on rails.

And the story. In my opinion the story was convoluted, abstract and bland. There are really no memorable characters in the game. And by around hour 12 I had lost all interest in the unfolding "mystery", I simply didn't care about the story or characters.

That about sums it up Folklore. If you are looking for a different action title to mix into your gaming routine, then I say go for it, the combat is fun and distinct. Again the game looks just great, I am a fan of the art design and the graphics. On the negative side the game itself does not let you "explore", and the story was very hard to follow and boring. The characters are far from memorable and are all image and no heart. I really wanted to love this game as it made such a strong impact at the outset, though over time I just found myself not wanting to "hack it out" to learn more about a story/characters that I simply did not understand/care about. Three star game worth about $15-$20.

While the big heavyweights tend to have legions of fans ready to pick up the game as soon as it's released, or at least till you've heard about it anyway, some games might have a smaller appeal and it becomes a classic case of "it might not be for everyone". One game that I had read about a lot prior to buying a Playstation 3 was Folklore, an RPG with a different battle system than selecting Attack or Item and a great visual style. So it naturally became one of the first few games that I played and while I'll admit the game has some pluses, the game also has its share of flaws that prevented me from being completely immersed into the experience which was disheartening because I wanted to like it but the game did things where I just couldn't.

Story: You play as 2 characters: Ellen, a soft-spoken young woman who receives a letter from her mother who's supposed to be dead and wants her to come to the village of Doolin and Keats, a writer for Unknown Realms, a magazine dealing in the paranormal who receives a strange phone call requesting he come to the village as well. When the 2 meet, they become investigators into the village's past and the many mysteries that lay in its home and roads.

The story is essentially a murder mystery so it's hard to tell whether the limited replay value will be an issue but my biggest concern is that in order to progress through the game, Ellen and Keats both have to finish each chapter separately which basically means going through the same paths, potentially picking up the same abilities (though slight deviations are found) and finishing the same boss fight with a different strategy than the other. On one hand it's fun to see some background into the parts where you don't see the other character or explanations for certain events, it makes the game feel a bit repetitive and also a bit slow since I couldn't bring myself to complete a chapter at a time, if that. It's intriguing sure but I didn't find it a page-turner, mainly due to the gameplay.

Graphics: Folklore is a game similar to the recently-released Valkyria Chronicles or Okami where the graphics look utterly gorgeous on HDTV sets. Mainly this is due to the color palette which is sharp, incredibly vibrant and well-presented with my favorite being the ethereal Faery Forest which has an absolutely beautiful flower field halfway through. Each chapter takes place in a different realm which are also stunning from the hellish Warcadia to the tranquil Undersea Palace. It's not exactly system-pushing but it's still great to look at.

Sound/Music: The music as well is especially pleasing to the hear from big orchestral scores during battles and the end-level boss to the melancholy piano playing during travels around Doolin which sounds similar to a sad freeform jazz playing. There's no real rousing tunes and the atmosphere created by the soundtrack is like a quiet evening at home with maybe some rain outside. There's some voice acting as well which is fine though it's rather infrequent and there's characters that have barely any lines to be said.

Gameplay: Putting the repetitiveness of replaying the same realm twice, Folklore's main draw is the combo system which uses customizable buttons for attacking. Basically your 4 face buttons acts as a way to initiate an ability that you've mapped onto that button. Throughout the realms are what's known as "ids" which when absorbed gain you access to that creature's ability so some create bombing runs, shoot missiles, powerful punches or act as a shield. With plenty to choose from, it's easy to customize your skills for the most effective though there's some that frankly, are kind of useless. You can also upgrade them by either absorbing a certain amount of them, killing a certain amount of ids with them or using items found in the realms.

And how do you absorb them? Well when you attack, a little blue ghost pops up but when it turns pink, you press R1 and jerk the controller upwards to "yank" their souls out of their bodies. They can also be combined with others showing the pink ghost for more exp though it's a little cumbersome to reposition your character so you'll get them all. There's also some enemies with special R1 tactics where one requires you to yank when it turns red, move the controller back and forth like a driving wheel to slam them into the ground while another has you position them exactly straight up for the greatest of damage. It's one of the few Sixaxis features found in PS3 games that actually has use as opposed to Ratchet and Clank's freefall or Heavenly Sword's Aftertouch system where you can use it though using the analog works better. My one problem is that the process is somewhat lengthy and trying to extract an id doesn't pause the enemies and the effect isn't cumulative so should you get hit, you have to start the whole process over from the beginning so it's best to get rid of the pesky ones before attempting it.

Part of me wants to recommend Folklore since it does quite a few things right, namely the graphics and music, but the incredibly linear story progression as well as the slowness of the story itself kind of prevents this. You don't feel like this is a game you wouldn't mind if you never beat it but if you do want to make it to the end, it's kind of a long, patient affair.

I am very surprised about the depressed review ratings on here. We have played Warhawk since it was launched 7 months or so ago and it is still one of the games that lets us choose the PS3 over our XBOX360(Halo!!!)regularly.

Warhawk is a pure online multiplayer game where you can choose, on various sized maps, what you prefer: battle from air to air, air to ground, tank battles, ssimple 2 feet battle with machine guns... it all mixes together in glorious fun battles.

Choose a shotgun, mine a few tanks, use a flame thrower or jump in a turret to what the Warhawks out of the air (Warhawks are Harrier type planes that can hover like Helis and fly like jets). You can use the sixaxis controller or simple joystick controls.

Nothing is more fun than a battle that has all the varied components at the same time. We use a large 63" HDTV with 4 players online at the same time. This is a blast (much like Halo)as you can have your friends cover you from the air or ground etc. Voicechat with the headsets works great too.

All in all: nothing beats a 4 player online splitscreen experience. It is the biggest thrill to take on others that way or even each other.

You can also play local only by setting a localhosting game. The only thing you cannot do is a 1 player mission.

The game has all the traditionas: zones (capture territories), CTF, Melee etc etc.

What is also woth mentioning is that you can pla from huge 5 mile radius maps to tiny little fortresses with 32 players, i.e. either a sniper, long range bombing war vs crazy stab-fests or anything inbetween.

Warhawk is a must have for anyone that diggs Halo (1, 2 or 3). 4 player split screen is a must have. The variety is a mt have. The game does not get old, it gets better as you start to memorize maps and find weapons.

It lags Forge mode but they have broughtout the Omega factory map that comes with the huge flying fortress which is insanely fun to bring down.

WARHAWK RULES, SIR YESSIR.

PS, REGARDING THE HEADSET VERSION: You do not need it if you have a Bluetooth headset lying around. Any bluetooth headset seems to work and 20$ for a crappy headset is not worth the money. Get yourself a 9$ BT headset on dealextreme or so if you really want one.

Where to start....This is the best game I have played on the ps3 so far! It is loads of fun, fly in a WarHawk, go on foot, get in a jeep, in a tank, and if you get that Omega Dawn booster pack from PSN (playstation network), you can comandeer a dropship. I stayed up playing this game till 3:00am! I couldn't get enough of it. If you have a PS3 and do not have this game, go and buy it now (if you have online play for it)!

Seeing such little reviews that helped me myself I decided to make one.

First off, Warhawk is a fun game Air Force based by some of the ranks ie Airmen. Kind of neat how when you rank up you unlock decals for your planes and new costumes and such. I first purchased this game on its release I thought it was kind of lame at first so I sold it, I gave it a 2nd chance and picked it up again since I seen there were expansion packs out and all kinds of new things added in, this game is online only but they really put alot of work into making it a good game. Its the only game I know of that you can dog fight in the air, fight hand to hand or blow each other up with tanks and such.

I'd pick it up for the 40 dollars, I personaly love the game now that I've gave it a 2nd chance It may not be for everyone but if you like war type games its a good hit! 10/10

While this game is almost 5 years old, I wanted to post a review specifically for parents looking to find a shooter suitable for kids and young teens. Warhawk is that game. Warhawk has been a personal favorite of ours since its release. It does not have the high-quality graphics or weapon selection of Call of Duty or Halo. It is does not have a single-player story mode. It is an online game.

The important thing for parents to know is that this game can be played by their 9-year old. It has zero graphic violence. When a player is killed, their is no blood splatter or real-life death scenes. Basically, your guy just gets blown back a few yards. You don't have to worry about gratuitous language and never-ending trash talk. Turn off the headset and you're free from all that. You can also create your own games, where you have the option of limiting/ blocking chat and limiting the rank (for those just learning the game, to play against other new players).

For anyone who has played the online shooters, you know how aggressive everyone gets, especially towards the kids. This game is perfect for kids just learning shooter games, parents who don't want their kids playing the violent shooters, and families who want to play together (split screen).

(The sequel to Warhawk is being released soon. There is a beta for Starhawk currently being offered. It looks great, especially with the addition of being able to build inside the map during game play).

This is the best visual novel to-date. Every event, every moment, everything about this rockets high. This is a driven emotion with many complex feelings that cannot be described into words. You can get the full translation from Amaterasu Translations and play the PC version the PC version is for 18+ and has some extremely disturbing scenes unlike its later versions like this one. The PS3 version has additional scenes and they've altered the disturbing scenes. Thou' I will mention this you do need to play Muv Luv EXTRA (Sumika + Meiya's routes to unlock UNLIMITED) and Muv Luv UNLIMITED (Meiya's route is highly recommended) in order to get the full grasp of the story before starting to play Muv Luv Alternative. I bought this out of whem and I never opened it. It's still in New condition. I played this a second time and went through a bit of different options nontheless, the story will not alter rather it will give you a different view of points. All characters are amazing All questions get answered, all loop holes get closed and seriously if you play Visual Novels, you cannot pass by this. It's bitter sweet and brutal in whatever ways you want to think.

This visual novel doesn't even start till 5-10 hours of gameplay and once you hit the Coup d'etat Arc ... oh god, I don't even know what to say. That's when it really, really begins and just when you think "holy crap, this is really good" it gets EVEN BETTER! It keeps going higher, and higher and higher, and just exceeds anyone's exceptions with so many plot twists and uncovering truths. My favorite characters are Kasumi and Meiya. I love these two characters. I respect Meiya's character a lot.

I hope for age makes another amazing game with 5pb. Looking forward to that day!

I bought this combo pack for my little brother and he loved it! We used to play each of the Ratchet and Clank games on the playstation 2 so having all three in one is really cool.

Love the Ratchet and Clank games! I love to play them with my son (we recently bought Ratchet and Clank All 4 One).

This didn't come with a charger cable though, but the controller is still working beautifully with a 10ft charger that I purchased from eForCity.

Overall, for what I paid for this, it was an excellent deal!

A few years ago I bought a Playseat racing seat for my Logitech G27 wheel so when I was in the market to replace my woebegone office chair this one sparked an interest. What I found upon assembly is that both products have the same quality in materials used as well as construction. These things are absolutely solid. The seat itself is extremely comfortable, especially for the lower back. The recliner doesn't get much use from me, save once in a while watching a movie on the PC. The only thing that worries me is the dial-ish mechanism to raise and lower the armrests. It feels a bit flimsy compared to everything else. After half a year though, they're still working flawlessly, even under my hamlike forearms. Perhaps my paranoia will prove to be exactly that. All in well, money well spent in my opinion.

As of the date of this review, purchasing this bundle is more of a convenience than a great deal. It costs about the same as purchasing the game and controller separately (on Amazon). However, if you're purchasing a PS3 for the first time, this is the perfect game/controller bundle if you're only buying the standard PS3 that doesn't come with an extra controller or any games.

My only complaint that brings down the rating of this product is that this bundle does not come with a USB cord to charge your controller.

HOWEVERthe game itself is a five-star game. It is a PS3 console-specific all-ages game that takes you through adventures in a crazy, creative world. Plus, the Game of the Year edition includes the extra content (levels and outfits for your Sackboy or Sackgirl) for free. There is so much content to be had, including level creation. The art style is whimsical, the narration and music are fun, and the character design is too charming for words. And it should be mentioned that the co-op play is great. I can't wait until my toddler is just a little older so my husband and I can play it with him. I can't say enough great things about the game itself, and look forward to the upcoming sequel.

OVERVIEW

What a bargain! The controller is the official Sony Brand, and is identical in all respects to the one included with your PS3 console. The inclusion of little Big Planet is a nice little bonus. For around 5 dollars more, you get the game, and several add-ons that feature extra goodies. If you can find the bundle, and you need a second controller this is a great buy.

CONTROLLER

The controller included is a black wireless blue tooth controller. IT does not come with a second usb cord for charging. You will have to use the one that came with your console, or perhaps purchase another separately. This is the only minor irritant I can claim about the package, but they do not claim to include it so they are not being deceptive. I simply don't understand why they would not include it. Surely it cannot be that expensive.

GAME

Little Big Planet is a side scrolling action platform game and so much more. The game is visually stimulating, and has a relaxed sort of feel to it. It would be appropriate for all ages, and is a great outlet for the creative gamer of the household. The game allows you the player, to use a variety of shapes, parts, stickers, and other such things to create personalized levels from scratch. Furthermore you can even put these levels up over the Playstation Network for other players to try! The possibilities of what you can create are near endless, and the game should get a lot of life.

If you are purchasing the game for your kids, you will be pleased to know that it is multi-player and supports up to four players at once. This is perfect for siblings or friends. Apart from that the game is appealing to both girls and boys, which also makes it a great buy for those with children, but don't be fooled by the cute look of it. The game has enough depth to be very enjoyable for adults as well!
