Saints Row 2 is the sequel to an xbox 360 only open world crime game. It is impossible to not compare this game to Grand Theft Auto 4 but if you give both of them an impartial look, they play very differently. Perhaps the best way to describe Saints Row is the "anti-GTA 4".

GTA 4 was one of the most massive games ever created. The expansiveness of Liberty City can be a bit daunting. The whole game just oozes polish from every polygon. The amount of resources that Rockstar must have poured into the making of the game must have been staggering. If this is the case, why are so many people's copies gathering dust? I can only speak for myself, but the game was lacking one very important thing. The game was just not fun. Despite all the polish, the voice acting, the story, I just didn't enjoy it.

The reason why I say all of this is because Saints Row 2 is almost the complete opposite. It is one of the most fun games I have played in recent memory. Then when you bring a friend along in co-op it just gets insane. Playing with another person over PSN is a blast as you cover each other's back blasting gangmembers, cops, and the Ultor corporation. It's hard not to crack a smile when your partner is speeding down the wrong side of a highway weaving through traffic while your blowing away your motorcycle riding pursuers with a grenade launcher. Not to mention the heaploads of customization options you can make to your protagonist, your cars, your houses, and your gangs. You can invite someone over just to show them your super tricked out rides.

Not that the game is perfect. The graphics are good, but not necessarily great. The colors in certain areas can seem a little washed out. The shooting mechanics could use a cover system a la gta 4, but you can grab anyone nearby and use them as a human shield which works out pretty good as well. Also the game has a plethora of adult situations and very coarse language. I'm not very squeamish when it comes to exposing responsible kids to a some PG-13 or even light rated R kind of stuff, but the thought of playing this game around an impressionable child makes me uneasy and probably shouldn't be done. So if you have young ones, definitely have them occupy themselves in another room or wait until after bedtime to bust this baby out.

All in all, if you even a casual fan of open world crime games, you owe it to yourself to at least give Saints Row 2 a try. Heck, you can even hit me up and I'll play with ya!!! PSN ID RellPhoenix

I must say, before this game came out I was really getting sick of these "serious" game titles like GTA4 and MGS4. I thought both had great gameplay mechanics but I felt like they were trying to beat me over the head with "morality" and trying to make you feel bad for doing immoral things.

Thanks to Saints Row 2 we finally have a title that doesn't take ANYTHING seriously (least of all itself ;) ). The humor is VERY juvenile and the story requires no thought what so ever (though it is very stylish and well-voice acted). But I think this is a good thing. You don't HAVE to feel bad about mowing over civilians and casualties in gunfights. You can just jump right in and have FUN.

The customization is awesome as well. The different clothing options are insane (and FAR more diverse than the overrated GTA4) as is your ability to customize (and keep) almost ANY vehicle to your liking. Also, you quite literally unlock different

clothes/vehicles/fighting styles/weapons for just PLAYING the game. I can't think of any other videogame that does that

The only bad thing I can say about Saint's Row 2 is that it can be taken as VERY offensive in it's portrayal of different ethnic groups. I realize that it's making fun of EVERYTHING it possibly can but be warned if you're easily offended by stereotypes.

In any case Saint's Row 2 is a game that gives players of sandbox titles exactly what they want: Fun without consequences :)

Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of open world games. However, I just didn't find SR2 to be exciting at all. The wierdest part is that I didn't like GTAIV and I did like the action that started off in SR2. But then is dragged and it dragged hard.

Gameplay

Let me say that the game play is really fun. I did enjoy the fighting mechanics. They are easy and really fit on the PS3 pad. Shooting was a bit of a hit and miss but enjoyable as well. I only wish that they had a auto target system, but it still got the job done. Headshots were interesting to come by. The driving was really fun. It reminded me of GTA San Andreas. The cars are all great and the cop cars are really fast. It helps when you are on chases. Taking over helicopters reminded me a bit of the original Mercenaries. It is easy to do.

Story

This is where things got a little wierd for me. Now I know that most games don't always have you doing righteous things, but I really felt bad playing this game. We have all seen the bad guy that wants revenge thing before so this should be no surprise. But I was a little shocked when your partner guns down what appears to be some 60 year old judge. It just didn't feel right. Also, I didn't like the fact that you can't play the game straight. What I mean is that instead of the open design of GTA, where you could do only story missions or sidequests whenever you choose, this game forces you to do a whole bunch of side quests and mini games before it opens up the next story mission for you to go through. I found that to be extremely frustrating especially when you were getting into the main story and then you have your attention diverted to do sometimes pointless side quests. Being a cop with a film crew like COPS was interesting until your umptenth time of trying to get enough points to move the game forward.

Overall

I would say that there are some great online mechanics in the fact that you can actually take someone with you to help out missions during play. That was fun. But overall, the pacing is what killed me. Breaking up what was an interesting story from time to time just to do meaningless tasks in order to continue was really annoying. Especially when you get to the juicy parts of the game. But if you can stomach that, then there is a chance that you might enjoy the game. I would say that GTA might be a better fit.

On thing I hate about this game are the vehicle controls which made it hard to drive without crashing into damn everything. You'll become very frustrated with the vehicle controls in any of the chase missions plus the aiming could've been better.

I'm really into military/war type games, so I decided to give this one a shot. And I really like this game. It's a bit harder than the older MOH games, however, game play is interesting! You actually get dropped out of planes for each mission, you can land anywhere you like! You can land with your teammates, or you can land behind enemy lines, it's up to you....Each time you play the game it's always different, which is kind of refreshing in today's world of video games.

Weapons are your standard 1940's weapons (American & German), grenades, M1 Garand, bazooka, etc etc

While I do find the controls a bit awkward right now, I'm sure after some time I'll get used to them. I must say the graphics are very nice, weapons are very true to life, game play is very smooth...

Overall, great game, with HOURS upon HOURS of replay value. Remember: Each time you play, it's totally different.

This is the first game I've played for PS3, and I was intrigued with the concept of the game. I'm a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, and I was thrilled to see my former job (from an earlier era of course) being brought to life. For a video game, it's a hoot, a lot of a fun to play (like all MOH games). If you like any past MOH games, you'll love this one...and while I haven't been playing it for more than a day, I'm dying to pick up the controller again.

It is great how you can start anywhere on the map from the time you jump, instead of just appearing somewhere on the battlefield to face the same enemy and watching for the same enemy movement and such. The A.I. for the enemy is pretty good, they react to what you do very well. For instance, if you start hitting them hard with grenades and automatic fire, the enemy will start pulling back and digging in, they won't just start running toward you so that you can continue to mow them down. If they're dug in with a gun, you'd better be a sharp shooter, otherwise taking out a gun is a serious hassle (as it should be).

As for the graphics, I was expecting better, but when you're dealing with MOH, the gameplay more than makes up for any deficiencies there. I highly recommend "Airborne!"

This is a good addition to the series and the game is fun to play, however, there are some things I dislike about this game, which is:

It is not compatible with the dual shock 3 controller, so no rumbling when firing your weapons. Which is totally difference then the rest of the series, that's disappointing.

EA didn't include actual WW2 video footage, like in the rest of the series. I'm a big WW2 fan, so I enjoyed seeing what actually happened in the war.

You can't do a military crawl like the rest of the series and I don't like the way grenades explode it's kind-of weak.

It's too short; which is my complaint regarding the entire series, with the exception of FRONTLINE, which is the best one out of the entire series; in my humble opinion.

If I had to rank the series (FOR PS2 & PS3 users), it would be in this order: FRONTLINE, EUROPEAN ASSAULT, AIRBORNE, RISING SUN. I put European Assault ahead of the PS3 Airborne because of the things I mention above (no actual WW2 video footage, no controller rumbling, no crawl, grenades exploding and its too short.) That's also the reason why I gave it 4 stars. If I could have giving it 3 1/2 stars then I would have. It gets 4 stars because of weapon upgrades. But all and all, it's a fun game

This is a game that understands what it's all about. It took about 3 levels to finally appreciate this game for everything it is, but once I got into it I really, really love it. I would say this is the best WW2 fps I've ever played. This game shows that you don't need the best graphics and most advanced gaming engine to have a lot of fun.

At the beginning of every level you float into the board on a parachute and you have to land properly and in the right area or you will be struggling for several seconds to get your gear off, stand up, and pull out your weapon and if you don't land in a safe zone, you will be bludgeoned to oblivion before you can even fire a shot. You also respawn floating down on the board again so you get a lot of chances to perfect this.

With each weapon there are three possible upgrades that you get by killing krauts with each particular weapon. This makes for some very addictive and fun gameplay and once your weapons are fully juiced up you're unstoppable.

My favorite part of this game is that every board is an open battlefield with multiple objectives that you can accomplish in any way you see fit. There are always several ways to assault a position, or take out the enemy and I get a lot of satisfaction by sneaking around behind the enemy while my boys are engaging them from the front and mercilessly slaughtering them! Oh what sick creatures we are!

I had high hopes when I bought this game. WW2 shooters are almost always guaranteed fun, but not this game. When you start the game there is almost no training on the use of the controls. You kind of have to just figure out what buttons do what on your own. Shoot, duck, zoom are totally different buttons from most every other ps3 shooter and takes a lot of getting used to. When you play the missions the enemy respawns an unlimited amount of solders which kills the game for me. It feels like you're playing against an endless flow of Germans that can never be beat. In a real war you would want to hide where you can't be shot at and shoot off people one by one. The problem with that is that when you kill someone there is an unlimited amount of people to take his place so you have to always keep moving and pushing forward to gain any ground. The AI is terrible also. The Americans will sit and shoot in one spot forever, there aim sucks and the only way to advance your troops is to go blazing in like Rambo by yourself. Overall this game was a big letdown unrealistic game play, hard to use buttons, and mediocre graphics. Definitely don't buy, don't even rent just pick up a different game

Stranglehold is a 3rd person shooter where you play a solo cop fighting against criminal armies. The play is very similar to Max Payne, but without the ability to jump. Instead, objects are moved over just by running into them. I really enjoyed this mechanic of the game. The environmental effects are excellent, as are character interactions with the environment. For example, you could jump off a wall, kick over a table for cover, grind or walk on railings, etc.

The graphics are not as good as I would expect from a Playstation 3 title. The detail does not look significantly better than the last generation consoles. Additionally, the violence level is pretty high and graphic, although not as high as a horror movie by any means.

If you enjoy good action adventure games heavy on the action side, this is definitely recommended for you. It has solid gameplay, good pacing, and is a lot of fun.

Stranglehold is a 3rd person over the top action shooter. Like most games the aim is to progress the storyline and reach the conclusion, but getting there you have to take down a lot of bad guys. That's where this gets a little different from your regular shooter. You get style points for each take down depending on what you do. You have a slo-mo button that slows the action down (aka John Woo film style) that allows you more time to take people down and get some style points. You can also use the scenary to add style. Jump across a table, run up or down a railing, dive off a crate.

All in all this is an enjoyable game. Decent graphics, gameplay and story. Game is a little short coming in at 7-8 hours though. I picked it up for $15 and was a steal. If you can pick it up for $20-25 it's worth it.

Before you read further, understand that I am a very laid back kind of person and am not an elitist when it comes to games. I've been gaming back when Atari was the thing and so I am able to forgive graphics or storyline if the game is fun to play.

This is one of those games. The storyline is straight and to the point. It's nothing new, but then again, is there anything really new? Go here and depopulate everything that moves, but it goes further in that it lets you depopulate everything that doesn't move :P (and gives you the bill at the end of the chapter my highest collateral damage has been 36.5 million going to have to go back and make sure I'm not so conservative next time around).

It is just fun to go ballistic on hordes of enemies. It is not a game where you can hang back and try to be methodical or stealthy. This game is all about kicking doors down and taking names and is much more fun when you are frantically hopping around the scenery firing exorbitant amounts of bullets while the whole world literally crashes down around you. It's also one of those games where it is fun to watch someone play so you can actually note the attention to detail that was given to this game.

Yes the graphics may be dated, but it was made in 2007, what do you expect? It's not a deal breaker. The environmental damage is persistent. If you shoot and break something it stays there, it doesn't magically disappear. Kill animations are specific to the area that the target was shot at. For instance, if you shoot them in the neck, they grab their neck and gurgle/choke blood. If they were shot in the eye, they cover their eye, etc.

It does have its flaws, just like every other game, and you can read plenty of the other reviews to see what they are.

I bought the game last year for bucks and figured I had nothing to lose. I just played through most of it today with a buddy and had to say I was decently surprised. I wasn't expecting much from the reviews I had read previously but I am glad I picked it up.

I am still catching up on a backlog of games, but I do hope other action games incorporate the level of environmental interaction that this game does.

It is a short game, we played for about 7 hours and we are one chapter away from the final. Again, not a deal breaker if you get it at a low price or just rent it.

I did not bother with the online multiplayer, I highly doubt anyone is even playing that. Besides, not sure the game mechanics would translate well into an online multiplayer.

Could have been good but it crashes too often. Also too many places where the game takes over the characters movement. Too many places where you should be able to go but can't. Too many silly characters who take too many shots before they fall. Fine if they had amour but right in the head? Too many times your feet are glued and you have to dodge bullets. Too many places where the cut scene can not be bypassed. As I type my PlayStation is frozen solid because of this game. Yes I have the update. There are other problems but I can not remember them right now.

I wasn't expecting much but this was inexpensive enough that I decided to give it a try. As another reviewer stated, the fan is indeed pretty loud considering it is so small. The fan noise was actually louder than the PS3's fan noise which really surprised and disappointed me. The fan doesn't blow that much air, which I expected due to the compact size, but the addition of this fan didn't seem to make any difference in the overall cooling. This combined with the noise it produces makes it a no-go for me and I stopped using it just a few hours after first trying it out.

This is a nice ps3 controller. I bought it because my Sony quit working. It comes with a USB connector, that is how it connects to the ps3 to be able to use it. The construction of the control is nice, it seems to be pretty sturdy. You can't turn the ps3 on using the controller, which is not big deal, but would be nice. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for another controller, but doesn't want to spend $60 on a Sony.

There are many fun aspects about the game such as the character and the fun of running around and trying to figure out where to go next. I was in need of a new controller and was hesitant because the price of a new DualShock 3 at the time was nearly the same price of a game. However as soon as I saw this awesome bundle I hesitated no longer! It's like getting a free game with a purchase of a controller or a free controller with a purchase of a game!

When I bought this bundle I wasn't even in the market for a game, but as I said earlier this was basically a free game for me since I was only looking for a controller. The controller is great. Not as light as a Sixaxis and the analog sticks are way more durable! Not much you can say about the controller other than the buttons are all working and that the sixaxis in motion controls are till working fantastically. The addition of vibrations was excellent. Way better than a Sixaxis that came with my 80GB PS3!

Now the game. I wasn't familiar with the LittleBigPlanet franchise, but I knew that it was one of the highly acclaimed Sony exclusives that every PS3 owner just so happened to own and love. So I said why not. It wouldn't hurt to try. It was on e of the best gaming decisions I have made as a PS3 owner. The game was fantastic! Just pure FUN! The single player was an excellent adventure both offline and online (yup, the game has Co-Op for story mode)! The amount of creativity in the game is spectacular and one of the best I have seen in any game. There is always something to do with this game. But I feel that this game shines the best when you play with friends. Whether it be offline or online, playing with a friend has never been so fun! Keep in mind that this game is the Game of the Year Greatest Hits Edition, so it included FREE DLC on the disc. So that right there is adding even more value to the purchase. This is a must get bundle!

I loathed Part 1 with a passion. The controls were clunky and largely unresponsive, the graphics, save for a few character models, were muddy and poorly textured, and the gameplay was rudimentary at best with ridiculous and repetitious side missions that did nothing more than to give the player the illusion it was more varied than it really was. Well a year has passed since that last disaster and I have to say that EA has largely corrected the nagging issues I had with the first game.

One major gripe I had with Part 1 was the unresponsiveness of the controls when trying to take cover and how I would sometimes get hit with spells regardless if I was behind cover. The controls in Part 2 overall feel tighter. If you see an object you want to duck behind, you're most likely going to be able to without issue. The spell cast system has also been updated. Gone is the cumbersome weapon wheel. Not only did it distract from the action, it was overall pointless given that Stupefy was the only practical spell to use against enemies. Now you can switch in between spells with the click of a button which really opens up combat since it allows you to easily cast one-two combos at your foes. The game also encourages you to try different spells given the situation. For instance, Stupefy is good for short ranged enemies while horrible for enemies that are across the map. Expelliarmus helps to break an enemy's Protego shield so you can then finish him or her off with an Expulso spell which shoots rapid fire orbs. The aiming reticule has also been polished. In Part 1, it tended not to stick on enemies in crucial moments. In Part 2, not only does it stick, it forces you not to spam the trigger button as doing so leads to erratic shooting. It's best to measure your shots so you'll know they're going to hit. Overall, I liked the combat. The fights were hectic with spells shooting over my head from all directions. At moments, I had to remind myself that there was no reload button as I took out Death Eaters coming from my right and my left while dug deep behind a wall.

Gameplay has also improved. There are no more pointless side quests or stealth missions that took away from the focus of the main narrative. Part 2 is strictly a linear affair with you plodding from checkpoint to checkpoint to progress the story along. The graphics seem much crisper this time around with more open and varied environments and impressive lighting. I liked how the game allowed you to play as different characters during the second half of the game. Granted, the mechanics are the same, yet it was a nice and welcomed variation. As a fan of the book, I was happy to be playing from different perspectives during the Battle of Hogwarts. The battle was a team affair with many heroes, not just Harry.

Now with the good, comes some of the bad. As much as I enjoyed the combat, it's basically the equivalent of whack-a-mole: Duck behind cover, wait till the enemy pokes out his or her head, and then shoot. There is very little variation to it as well. You either walk into a section of the map which triggers a slew of enemies to come charging out or you have to protect Hermione's backside as she tries to open a door. Not until the ending chapters which includes a fun chase sequence involving Harry and Professor McGonagall fighting a giant, etc., does the monotony break up a little bit. The game is also mercilessly short, about 4 hours and some change, for a $50 game with little replay value other than to boost your online rankings in some challenges which can be found in the main menu.

I'll never know why the last game of such a fantastic series of books and movies was more of a whimper than a grandiose send off. Part 2 is a lot better than Part 1, yet it still feels like a budget title. Though the movies have exceeded expectations, the last four or five games released by EA have been nothing more than decent to poor. Was this due to budgetary cuts or is it really as they say, difficult to produce a quality game based on a movie? Regardless, this may very well be the last Harry Potter game that we will see for quite some time (save Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7) and despite not living up to the source material, they have been a part of my Harry Potter universe as much as the movies, cups, t-shirts, key chains and action figures were. In the end, we can hope that a different developer can give this property the imagination and care it deserves.

I have owned and played every Harry Potter game except the one about Quidditch. I even have the Lego Harry Potter game on console and PSP. I am a huge Potter fan.

This game is not very good. I know they tried, but EA Bright Light has failed, failed, failed on every HP game since Prisoner of Azkaban. Goblet of Fire was ok, but it was the transition into failure. I know where they went wrong. They concentrated on making a movie-based game rather than capturing the heart and magic of Harry Potter. This last game, DH2, is a shooter. A shooter for Wizards. A cover-based shooter. It's one protracted fight scene after another. Boring, repetitive, on rails. DH1 was also a shooter, but it was a little more fun than DH2. I played this game with the Move, and I did like that aspect.

Only because I'm a big Potter fan did I give it a generous 3 star. I do not recommend this game to anyone.

So, if you are really good at games I would suggest playing on a harder level. Overall I would say buy this game. Its better than Part 1.

I will begin this review by stating that the first video game I ever purchased myself was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the original PlayStation. I absolutely loved it! Granted, I was 11 when the game was released and, so, more easily amused. But what was fantastic about the first three Harry Potter video games was the amount of exploration available to the player and the puzzle-solving platforms. You could really get to know the world of Harry Potter as well as get your mind working to solve a few problems. "Deathly Hallows Part II", however, is an excuse for the makers to use formulaic battle scenes to try and fit into a single story. I was disappointed and frustrated that the game was simply a repeat in every battle I took part in.

Even if you are a Harry Potter fan and want to "experience" everything the franchise has to offer, do not attempt to waste your money.

I tired for a couple years driving my logitech driving wheel for my PS3 on many different objects to make it work. Tables, chairs, TV trays, my lap and needless to say nothing worked that well. I thought this seat would be the perfect solution, but I was somewhat disappointed in the seat. I didn't realize it was mostly hard molded plastic. This made the seat extremely uncomfortable. This also made the seat hard to put together. On mine the bolts didn't line up exactly making it hard to put together. The steering wheel support arm mounts to the plastic seat as well with a single bolt making it less stable than a truly solid base. The steering wheel mounting plate and the pedal supports are plastic making it somewhat unstale too. It also lacked a good place to put the gear shifter. At this point I have to say even with all the drawbacks it was still the best solution I had used to date, but after a couple of weeks being miserable sitting in the seat I decided to return it. I know not everyone can afford a more expensive seat so moving up to an EVO or better may not be an option, so this seat maybe be a good enough solution. I however I decide to bite the bullet and go with a WRC that I found on sale on Amazon also. I will say it is worth ever penny of the difference. It is so much more stable because there is so little plastic in this seat. The steering wheel arm mounts to the metal frame with four bolts making it rock solid. The seat is a thick padded cushion on springs making it so comfortable I sometimes sit in the chair even when I am not playing a game, but simply watching TV. I will say the gear shift mount is a little low compared to the shifter in my real car, but still better than the options I had to come up with on the rookie seat. Bottom line: if even $200 stretches your budget get the rookie seat, otherwise the full seats are worth every penny you spend on them.

I saved a bit of money because this is my second playseat and lets face it having one is a luxury. The seat is plastic with no cushion and even though it looks like the regular seat it is not. It is a butt killer. The wheel support arm is a tad wobbly and it secures into the plastic seat so I worry about its long term durability. The seating position is also not as good as the regular seat.

This seat really improves the racing experience. I bought it to play Forza 4, and the difference in immersion between mounting your wheel on a seat like this and setting on your lap is immediately noticeable. I recommend it for anyone who wants to take their simulation experience to the next level.

It assembles easily, and can be quickly adjusted to fit taller or shorter players. The seat itself is hard plastic, but I've found it to be very comfortable. You might want to a pad of some sort if you intend to use it for extended periods, but I can easily sit in it for at least an hour without any discomfort.

The frame feels sturdy and stable, and it is light enough to pick up and move out of the way when you're not using it.

With this case being one of the cheapest, I wasn't expecting all that much out of it. However, it quickly blew away my expectations. The case has plenty of room for lots of games or DVDs/Blu-rays (15-20 I think). There is also ample storage space for my two controllers and all the cables and cords. Overall, GREAT case for an even better price!

i bought this bag and did not expect that much for 20$ but i was very satisfied with it as its contain every thing you will need to travel with your ps3, very secure from console falling , a place for gadgets , a soft slots for the dvds ,and its size and weight is little and you can even operate your ps3 while its inside it , if just they made it more stylish i would say its the perfect bag but for the price its still great bag

I got this for my husband and gave it to him with the PS3 and some games as a wedding present. This is perfect! It's very compact, but keeps everything (cords, games, controllers, blue ray remote) neatly, and safely, packed away within the case. It's great, my hubby was able to pack it up and bring it with us on our honeymoon even (which is why I bought the case, so he could).

Great buy and WELL worth the super low price!

Alrighty then! I had gotten the PS3 ezPak Extreme for my boyfriend for christmas. I couldnt wait to give it to him so I let him have it early. We found that the velcro strap on the inside does not fit snugly around the console ( I will have to fix that) and therefore it moves around way too much. Kinda silly to me, so I put in foam padding, I just need to cover it. Overall, even with these minor issues, it is a very nice product, has great storage room and pockets and venilation in case you don't wanna take it out to use it.

Got this bag for a recent vacation and it worked perfectly. The outer storage compartment is big enough that it held 2 controllers and the blu-ray remote, as well as a few loose cords. I would prefer a game storage part that allows you to pack games in their cases, but that would be my only minor complaint. The vents on the sides are nice also because it allows you to play the system without ever taking it out of the case.

A lot of Playstation 3 owners have been waiting a long time for Dance Dance Revolution to make it to the PS3. Four long years later, it's finally arrived. Was it worth the wait?

The first thing I noticed when I opened my DDR box was a brand new, sleek black dance pad. it definitely looks a lot "cooler" than the old white dance pads on the Wii and the PS3. The pad pretty much works the same as always--just plug it into an available USB port and you're all set.

The options on DDR should be familiar to anyone who's played it on the PS2 or the Wii.

1) In "Free Dance" mode where you can just dive into dancing. You select the number of players (single player or multiplayer) and then you can choose any song at one of four difficulty levels (beginner, basic, difficult, expert).

2) "Club Mode" is where you basically have to proceed thorugh different levels of difficulty to win the game. unfortunately, the developers decided to put in things which seem more like gimmicks than anything else. There are features like "TRICKS" which will suddenly change the difficulty level in the middle of a song. As you finish songs in other "clubs", you can move them to your own "club". Honestly, this section was much more confusing than it should have been, and the confusing and poorly written explanation of "How to Play" at the beginning only made things worse. Konami should have stuck with keeping this simple.

3) "Dance Off" mode is where up to four players can take turns dancing. There's something called a "combo roulette" which does things like speed up the dancing, shift the top arrows around, make the arrows bigger. But what it ends up doing is make the competition confusing and frustrating. Seems like another situation where they tried to innovate, but ended up just causing confusion.

4) There's been a lot of talk about how the new Dance Dance Revolution makes use of the Playstation Move controller. Turns out there's only one menu option in which you can use them: "Move & Step", which is basically "Free Play Mode" that uses the Move Controllers. So you can't use the Move Controllers in Club Mode or Dance Off Mode.

To start, you need to adjust your position so that you and your mat are in the middle of the screen--and you need to stay in that position throughout the song. I thought that maybe like Just Dance, the game might at least featured some hand movements that looked like real dancing. But that wasn't the case. Instead, there are four new kinds of arrows (pointing diagonally to each of the four corners of the screen) added to the mix. To get points, you need to swipe your hand to that corner when you see the arrow. The controls are precise, of course, and you do see a visual "swoosh" when you move your hands in the right direction.

For some inexplicable reason, when using Playstation Move controllers, not only does XMB navigation not work, the "X" button on the Move controllers doesn't even work. So you're in an awkward position where you're holding two Move controllers, but when you need to select a menu option or even just move to the next screen, you need to drop the Move controllers, pick up your Dualshock controller, make your selection, and then pick up the controllers again. It's a rather sloppy piece of programming on Konami's part.

5) The remaining modes are "How to Play" (for anyone who doesn't know how to play DDR yet), "Training Mode" (which lets you break down any song at any difficulty to practice it--again, no Move support), "Music Store" (which lets you access DLC), "Workout Profile" (which tells you the number of calories burned), "Records" (which displays the high scores for each song on your system for Free Play Move and Move & Step), "Video Manager" (which lets you export videos to YouTube and Facebook) and "Options" (which lets you

The graphics are much better quality than on the Wii or the PS2, of course. When you select the songs you see a high-resolution image of the song's album cover. For the most part, the graphics are crisp and the colors bright. During the dance numbers, you'll see a video of yourself, taken with the Playstation Eye, in the background (sometimes clear, sometimes stylized with a solid color). I first found this a pretty cool feature, but sometimes the stylized images were so garing and distracting I just had to turn the camera off.

The playlist, as usual, is a combination of licensed tracks and Konami's in-house music composers.

As another reviewer mentioned, there are a number of aggravating annoyances. You can't pause when you're in the middle of a song. No buttons will work, and even if you hit the PS button, the song will keep on going. So if you get a phone call in the middle of a song, you just have to let it play all the way through.

You have the ability to capture your performance in Free Play Mode, Dance Off and Move & Step on video. I can see the usefulness of recording songs with a dance game like Singstar Dance where you're dancing to "real moves". But here, you're just hopping up and down and waving your arms randomly. Something tells me that this isn't the sort of thing most people will be sharing on their Facebook page.

In all honesty, I think this summarizes DDR's main weakness. DDR was the king of the hill of motion gaming since it first launched as an arcade game in 1998. But the world has moved on. Now that you can dance "real dance moves", stepping on arrows seems a bit passé.

Don't get me wrong, die-hard DDR fans will love this new game, the improved graphics, and the new music tracks. It's still one of the better workouts you can get, especially when you practice over and over again to nail a difficult song. And of course, no other game can match it in terms of precision.

But everyone else will probably find more satisfaction in newer games like Singstar Dance for the PS3, Just Dance 2 for the Wii, and Kinect Dance for the Xbox where they can not just pattern match but actually learn real dance steps. In that regard, DDR seems almost antiquated.

overall, I'll give it a rating of "It's OK". Even if you can get over the annoyances, there's really nothing very noteworthy nor innovative about it. It's basically the same as it was in 1998--the "improvements" the developers tried to make (including use of the Move controllers) seem for the most part forced and contrived, as if they knew they had to be innovative, but knew that there's just not that much more that can be done to stretch a 12-year old platform.

My wife and I used to absolutely love DDR. We would play for hours on end into the night. I had high hopes, and was excited to pick this up on the day it came out.

Pros:

DDR is finally in HD, lots of nice eye Candy

Downloadable Content, if it would work that is.

Cons:

Surprise! Paper pads suck, and there are no decent alternatives.

A lot of the songs really aren't "dance" tracks, and only one or two techno songs similar to what made DDR fun in the first place.

For starters, the PS Store errors out when you try to open up the section to buy new songs, but maybe I have to wait until the next PSN Update.

Second, the paper pad really, really blows, but this shouldn't be much of a surprise to anybody who's played DDR before. So far I haven't seen anybody interested in making better ones, either. I did have my trusty Red Octane $100 pads stored away in the closet, plugged them in, and low and behold, they worked...sorta. The left and down arrows work, but up and right are swapped when you press them :'( I figured they wouldn't have worked, but I can dream...right?

The song selection is kinda meh. Seemed like they were more interested in getting 'popular' music than music you should be dancing to. Jason Mraz? Really? I'm dancing to Jason Mraz??? Give me back my Afronova and Captain Jack! To add to that, I haven't figured out yet how to, or if you can unlock songs, or if buying them is the only way.

Overall, a disappointment, but I'll hang on to it a while hoping for some decent replacement pads and at least some good DLC.

I was hesitant with purchasing this game at first. I was hoping to find one of the original DDRs that were sold for the PS2 but for the PS3 because my PS3 isn't backwards compatible. The sample songs listed above seemed to be cheesy and did not incorporate the J-pop songs from BeForU and Naoki that I have grown to love over the years. However, I recently found out by going into the PS store that it's possible to download songs from the original games! The song packs are $5/each. So it's definitely worth it! From what I've seen, all of the discs are there. I'm springing $20 for the two supernovas and the two DDR extremes. :D AT LAST! A SINGLE GAME THAT CAN HAVE ALL THE SONGS WE LOVE!!!

DDR3 regular mode is ok once you get some songs unlocked. DDR Club mode is horrible. Someone should get fired for this feature. Why does club mob suck so bad? It has a sucky selection of songs. It alway plays SLOW, no BEAT songs in beginner mode, it is very difficult to get it to leave beginner level but one mistake it sends you right back to it. Probably the worst is that club mode could be really good excersize if the programming didnt suck and I didnt have to hear HEY SOUL SISTER, Im Yours by Jason Mraz or Need you Now by Lady Antebellum over and over again. What are those songs doing in club mode anyways? If those songs were played in a club the DJ would be kicked out on the street.

Sigh... what a disappointment.

Being a DDR fan since the early PS2 era, I was excited to hear about DDR finally making a jump to the PS3, since both Nintendo and Microsoft got to enjoy 3 installments of Hottest Party and Universe respectively before Sony could get their DDR fix.

First off, I'm not gonna lie; the game is great. Its well worth the $40 bundle especially since most game retail at $60 with no additional accessories. Yes, the soundtrack has lost its lust over time and instead of putting in an amazing techno soundtrack like the early era, it is now full of the top 40 hits you hear on the radio. Not bad for mainstream fans, but older fans will be disappointed.

Fortunately, us core DDR fans are gifted with downloadable content with past DDR games which range from DDR/Konamix to SuperNOVA. Sadly there is no Extreme 2 track pack, which happens to be my favorite in the series. After downloading the track packs, I am now enjoying the game much more.

The Club mode isn't as bad as I expected. Granted playing the same 10 songs over and over and over and over again on beginner gets boring fast but once you start unlocking songs about an hour or two in, its not so bad.

The dance pad that came with the bundle is better built than my old PS2 pads. They don't slip as much, but they do move when I play fast paced songs on Expert so after every song, I have to readjust the pad. Nothing major though. I would love to see some PS3 metal pads though.

Honestly, my only real complaint other than half the soundtrack being lackluster is the lack of downloadable songs. I thought Konami promised a massive back catalog of old songs. I would easily drop another $40-50 on songs if I could download past favorites. Imagine having the arcade experience of 300+ amazing songs on one home console. *sigh* One can only dream...

My final word: Its worth the $40 I spent. I wouldn't pay more for it though.

a little pricey but i'll pay almost anything for a rare product that has anything to do with metal gear. best game series of all time. but that aside, i looove the artbook(basically the only reason i bought it) but the original vocal tracks included on the cd is a nice added bonus. an excellent display piece. the box it comes in is nice and sturdy with a glossy finish and original art by yoji shinkawa for the front. the art book is definetly the major score from this package, being between 300 and 400 pages thick, and hardcover bound with string in a nice cloth skin. features finished artworks for mgs 1,2 & 3, then half way through starts the concept drawings for mgs 1,2 & 3! all in all i cant believe i went this long without having it, and now that i do, i feel my multi-media collection of metal gear stuff is complete.........for now :P

I got this controller because I couldn't find the color I wanted around town. Yes, I ordered online, just for the color, but why not? It was cheaper online than going to the nearest Gamestop, or something. The Afterglo series has good quality products. They're unique and fun. The only thing that throws me off is that the D-pad and analog on the left side are switched, unlike a PS3 controller. However, it's still a great product and I use it everyday for my PS3 and computer games. I love it! RECOMMENDED!

First of all, I want to say that I am a pretty hardcore gamer. I'm a level 17 on Metal Gear Online, and if you were familiar with the game, you'd know that being that level means that you're a pretty good player. I bought this controller because I was tired of wearing out the Dualshock 3 analog sticks by playing that game. Now, onto the controller.

This controller is alright. The buttons and triggers feel kind of cheap. The analog sticks don't have evenly distributed resistance in all directions, as compared to the Dualshock 3, but it's fine. When using this controller to play Metal Gear, there's a noticeable reduction in control with the analog sticks. However, with that said, I find that I enjoy using this controller. The Xbox 360 controller layout is fun to play with. There isn't any lag, as far as I can tell.

For the price, I'd say this controller is decent. I think if they improved upon the design of this controller, adding non-plastic-like buttons and making the analog sticks as responsive and resistive as the Dualshock 3, then they'd have a winner. I'd pay $50, or even more, for something like that. (I'm talking to you controller designer!)

I bought this new from GameStop for $30. Everything worked perfectly. Then it started breaking. The vibrator only worked on one side of the controller and a piece of plastic chipped off the bottom of the controller. Now the afterglow doesn't even work any more. The controller itself still works and I use it as my second controller but beware before buying.

PS: It is a lot like an XBOX 360 controller shape wise

I love the glow effect of this controller. Reminded me of the wireless afterglow controllers I bought for my PS2, but some games are not compatible with the wired controller, which is a downer for me. It feels good in your hands when you use it, but only being able to use it with some games is a turn-off for me.

I got this just because it's the only purple option for dual shocks. It is wired, make no mistake about that. I normally sit 4 feet from my console, so wired is fine. The controller is actually clear, but it lights up inside with a purple light.

I like this because it's smaller than the standard dual shock. So perfect for gamers who don't have giant man-hands. And they put in these little protrusions that your fingers rest against on the back side, to prevent slippage. I wish Sony would use that idea in their proprietary controllers. Also, the triggers are extended, so no need to buy add on trigger extenders. And, it has vibration but you can choose to disable it.

I really like this controller and use it all the time.

Oh, boy, was this game a huge disappointment. We tried games #1 and #3 so far. Both were abysmally bad.

The graphics on #1 put the tutorial instructions off the border / side of the screen when displayed on HDTV. There is no option on the PS3 to change this. Basically, the instructions on what to do are unreadable. Maybe this could be fixed by changing to standard definition (or maybe not). The game play itself is so simplistic that the manufacturer should blush for charging in today's market. In coop mode, two players have groups of worms and take turn firing weapons. You slowly select a weapon, fire, wait for primitive graphics, and then hand over the controller. Yawn. Everything is flat-screen 2D animation from ten years ago.

Game #2 the graphics show shadows & depth, 3D not in the sense of a 3D display but rather from the modern cartoons. You play one worm at a time, and that worm can move left & right & in & out of the screen. The worm moves about the rate you'd expect of a worm--ridiculously slowly. The worm goes around picking up weapons, slowly selects one weapon, fires somewhere (typically at an enemy worm), the you wait impatiently for animations. There are funny jokes during the animation, but also a lot of just waiting for no apparent reason while the system sits there. With most weapons, every time you want to fire, you need to pull up the weapon-select menu, navigate slowly from the "home" position, select the weapon, then you can focus and fire. Basically there is way, way, way too much waiting and way, way, way too slow of a pace.

Save your money. There are way better games out there. My suggestions for the PS3 coop games are LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition Playstation 3 and Little Big Planet 2.

I'm about half way through the story mode, I've jumped online a few times now, and though I haven't finished it I'm too eager to review this game!

*UPDATED AFTER COMPLETION ON THE BOTTOM*

If you loved Ultimate Ninja 2 you'll love 3. I didn't care for generations, though it has Generations character selection. I feel the dodge moves work better in this game compared to generations, though it still has the 4 log limit (I think it refills a little slower).

I stopped reading the Manga after the Paine fight because of how well Ninja Storm 2 presented it. So Ninja Storm 3 is my only way to take in the story... and I am very satisfied with that. It has some dumb fights in the story mode, some of those "I can't let you do that" "Try to stop me!" fights, but for the most part everything feels relavent.

There are 87 characters total I think. If you remove the Assist-Only characters (brought back from 1) and the doubles/triples for character with multiple forms (even though each plays very uniquely) you have about 75 characters. Not a number to complain about. Everyone is here.

The story mode is a combination of 1 and 2 the world is rendered in 3d and has more of an adventuring feel, but it's not fully accessible like in 1 or the x-box games, lots of areas feel like the pre-rendered backgrounds of 2.

There is a small beat'em-up style mode in some areas that works surprisingly well. The only thing I could really compare it to is Tekken 6's battle mode, and it's definitely better than that.

My only complaints are the camera angles are stupid. Early in the game you'll do a scene transition by walking off camera, and the next angle you see there is a long path behind you with people doing things. So your natural reaction is to walk toward those peoplenope, that sends you back to the area you just came from. You have to walk toward the camera to continue on in the new area. I saw this 2-3 times so far in the game. It's a little silly, but something easily fixed with a patch.

The 3d is horrible. It reminds me of Sly Cooper Thieves in Time (which is a game I loved). If you have a 3d TV don't be excited to play this game in 3d. It is the most subtle effect even if you max out depth. The game just has a general 'blur' that doesn't justify the drop in contrast or resolution.

Otherwise perfect. Online is the same as the other games most player like to stand still blocking the whole time, spam assists and grab moves, and hit you with an ultimate jutsu instead of actually moving and fighting. At least I didn't experience any lag :) I also feel the game makes that strategy a little less useful...

*UPDATE*

Just beat the game yesterday. I'll let it retain its 5 star review but I wasn't nearly as happy with the ending as I was with Ninja Storm 2. Without giving anything away I would simply argue that the presentation of these final fights becomes redundant instead of satisfying. They use much less quick-time style events which are generally the highlight of Ninja Storm bosses and instead have you doing up to 10 minute fights (due to the circumstances) followed by a 3-5 move quicktime event instead of having those strung throughout the fights. It feels more like a way for the game maximize its time than relevant combat, and it becomes a battle of being overly cautious because for the last 30-40 minutes of the game they don't give you an opportunity to heal yourself between fights yet set the bar at "Keep your health above X" for each one.

Aside from the final fight though I was pretty satisfied. this was sort of the Metal Gear solid 4 of Naruto games in terms of cut-scenes, to the point that some felt silly. again, I've never watched the Anime so I have no idea if they pulled those scenes straight from it or what.

The game is massive though. After beating it the post-game begins and you realize how much is left. There is a Ninja Timeline you work on throughout the game. Most exceptional 'important' battles will reword you with events from the previous 2 games which you can then go and play through. In addition there are epilogue events you can earn by collecting enough Chakra fragments (I haven't unlocked them yet, but it sounds like it'll be a chore).

Great game. I'm planning on getting a platinum in it but I guess that'll take me another 10 hours (the game is about 10 hours long at base) after Chapter 5 you start flying through them so don't let the length of those first few throw you off).

And obviously I'm excited for Ninja Storm 4, which I'm guessing will be the last game. Maybe it'll be a PS4 release so there can be better Anti-aliasing :D

With the new improvements in gameplay features, the huge character roster and an epic story mode Storm 3 is something Hardcore Naruto fans will love and casual gamers alike. Storm 3 is picking up where Storm 2 left off and it starts with the search for Sasuke. The same open world experience as Storm 2 where you have to go on foot and get to your target is a bit time consuming but still has many collectible a on the way so it is worth it. In the Sasuke fight and other kinds of boss fights it mixes regular fighting with beautiful quicktime events and awesome visuals that you feel amazed by. New features have been added to the gameplay system too such as ring out which has its up and down sides and automatic awakenings which can actually work out quite well in battle if you don't abuse the privilege. Then one of the things I am most excited about is the new characters like all the tails,Nagato, many reanimated characters, and my favorite,Madara Uchiha. These elements show great potential for a great game and hopefully more games to come. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is very lengthy, immersive and has a ton to offer so I definitely recommend it.

It's a good game but you fanboys need to chill I am a Naruto fan, but the online portion is a joke it's been like that since they wanted to add online But other than that it's a good game. Pros and Cons.

+ Fun offline

+ Great visuals a lot more detailed in the graphics.

+ Good story mode.

+ Good boss fights but hardly any in the game.

+ AI is a lot harder, better off playing the AI on the hardest setting instead of online since they actually do moves and combos now instead of spam.

The online is a joke enough said.

Combat is to easy thus making it way to easy to exploit.

Too many cut scenes and not enough gameplay in the story. Every two seconds you get a cut scene.

Game picks up really late like near the end game.

Balancing issues, some of the cast are just to good while the other half sucks.

No it's not prefect but it is solid, just try to avoid online invite some friends over and you will have fun. The online portion will stress you out. They need to either revamp the whole online portion or take it out completely. You go in a match saying yea this is going to be awesome this is going to be fun, then all the sudden you run into spammers, rage quitters, and straight up people who are afraid to loose. The online will turn off a lot of people I know it did for generations and storm 2. All in all a good game.

It plays like Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, in some ways the exact same, but it is still a great buy with all the new characters and story side-quest. The story follows exactly as it does in the manga up until the end but since The Ninja War Arc isn't complete yet I didn't expect the campaign to follow 100%. So all in all I would definitely recommend if you are a fan of Naruto
