Works flawlessly, as good as OEM dual shock PS3 controllers. I wish the USB blue tooth connector were smaller, but that is my only complaint.

I'm going to start by saying, all in all.. I really like my fight-pad controller. I've played Street Fighter 4 since release and then moved to Super Street Fighter 4 upon it's release. I consider myself a generally serious SF player, as I play in local tournaments, play on arcade machines, and own a tournament edition joystick controller for the game. I became interested in the fight-pad controller after I purchased the tournament edition joystick ($140). After many months of using the joystick, it just never felt "right" to me. The joystick itself felt too heavy and just generally wasn't what I wanted to use when I played the game. I was hesitant to buy the fight-pad controller, because it is Madcatz brand and inexpensive. Madcatz is a company that makes notoriously HORRIBLE quality products. Ever since the 1990's, they've made copies of official controllers and various video game controllers... all of which usually break in mere days of normal use, don't work upon purchase, or are just complete low quality garbage. I must say, I hate Madcatz as a company and hope that they do end up going out of business. However, this fight-pad controller is a gem among garbage in Madcatz products. I started using it as soon as I received it in the mail and noticed a problem with my d-pad sticking. I ignored it and continued playing for about a week, the d-pad would get stuck maybe once every 4 hours or so, every time that I would play the game. (Once every 4 hours so you know how frequent/likely it was for this to occur) All that I had to do to get it to correct itself was push down with significant force on the d-pad in the opposite direction that it was sticking. I know, it sounds pretty bad so far.. but the good part is yet to come. I play SSF4 quite a bit, usually about 2-8 hours per day.. 5-6 days per week. After the first week of using my controller, the issue with the d-pad sticking went away. I'm writing this review months after I purchased the controller and I haven't had ANY issues with it since the first week that I used it. I assume maybe since it's from the original SF4 release, maybe it just required some breaking in to get all the kinks out from sitting around for a year. This controller does require 2 AA batteries, but to all the people complaining about batteries in their reviews.. how often do you play? As I said, I play quite frequently and usually only change the batteries about once a month.. which isn't bad considering that sometimes I can rack up 40 hours per week on the game.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and do not regret it.. the controller is easy to use and has worked well for me. If you're someone who is tired of using a normal PS3/360 controller or joystick, it would probably be worth giving a try. However, being that it is a Madcatz product.. there is a chance that you may have issues with the controller. I'm lucky that any issues that I had with it went away, but other people may not be so lucky. I was about to return mine, but then fortunately the issue with the d-pad just went away. My advice is, purchase with caution.

comfortable

nicely sized

lightweight

feels sturdy

rubberized grips

fluid d-pad movement

-

not rechargeable (uses 2 AAA)

not bluetooth (comes with usb/ir dongle)

no analog sticks

small/recessed PS, start & select button hard to feel/press

My biggest complaints are the usb/ir dongle taking up another port so it should've been a bluetooth controller. There are no analog sticks but there is a switch to enable the d-pad as the left stick or right stick (but you couldn't use them in any combination together). And not having a built-in rechargeable li-ion battery is a waste. I guess you could use rechargeable AA though.

In the end this is a great SF controller. When configured for SF, the punch and kick buttons are nicely spaced apart so your fingers don't feel crammed together. You can easily pull off sonic booms, shoryoukens, hadoukens, super pile drivers, spinning bird feet, etc.. So it is perfectly suited for SF. But I found it hard to use for Tekken and other games mostly because PS, Select and Start buttons are recessed and hard to find/press. I don't use the turbo buttonnever haveeven back when the NES had it on the ASCII pad. Hahah remember that?

Buy Sony PS3 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Blanka Now

This is an outstanding controller. Very comfortable to hold and all buttons are in easy reach. It is already perfectly set up for use with the Street Fight IV & the default button configuration. Moves requiring quarter, half & full circle movements are incredibly easy do, thanks to the floating digital pad. And they can be done consistently. It comes a with handy Turbo button which makes characters like Chun-Li & E. Honda especially dangerous.

My only problem with the controller & its floating digital pad is that it may be too sensitive sometimes. For characters that require charge attacks or precise up and down movements of the digital pad for combos, the Dualshock 3/Six-axis controller is actually easier to use & more consistent.

If you have PS3 then you already have the standard controller & I highly suggest you try out the Fight Pads to get the most out of this game. It will probably come in handy for other fighting games as well. I fully intend to use this pad on Tekken.

I purchased the Street Fighter 4 Fightpad, for Capcom's latest scam, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. It worked, but even on the first day i played, I noticed technical issues. The controller kept on inputting my commands as down for what ever reason, and the diagonals were not as responsive. Why the hell a fightpad SPECIFICALLY made for fighting games would be wireless, is beyond me. I feel as if the controller could have been spared these troubles if wired. I bought this in May 2011, so I doubt that if they didn't have wired then, they most likely stopped improving the fightpads, and will never make more that are wired. The actual performance was decent, and improved my inputs by a fraction; certainly not worth anything over $20. The floating d-pad sucked for me, and I found my fingers getting stuck in the bulbous creases of the diagonals. The button layout was extremely poor in my opinion. I felt that the buttons should have been left alone, and just a better d-pad. It will take A WHILE to get used to the six button layout. They are so weirdly spaced out, that you will be pressing the wrong commands often. I played for about a week, then gave up, because MVC3 was boring after 2 weeks.

Pros:

Slight better inputs

really cool design

...

Cons:

floating d-pad is too uncomfortable

registers incorrect inputs when not even touching anything from time to time

Spacing of the buttons are awkward

wireless

uses 2 AA batteries

Feels cheaply made

Realistic non-F1 or NASCAR racing for the PS3 currently consists of two titles, GT 5 Prologue and Grid. This is a brief review to address the pros and cons of both programs:

Graphics: GT 5P is a very limited version of the full program which will be out later this year or even in 2009. As such, we need to bear in mind we are comparing a limited scope product to a finished one. That said, graphic elements in each program are still a wash, which I guess is testimony to GT 5P considering its graphics will probably improve a bit before the final version. The cars in GT 5P have more polygons and so the models look better, but Grid features a full-fledged damage system so the lower poly count and smaller number of cars in Grid are fully deformable, hence damage and collisions are quite dramatic in Grid. As of yet, GT 5Ps cars are not at all deformable so to some extent we are comparing two different types of graphics. Background track visuals are roughly the same in both games, so what we have is nicer undamaged models versus fully deformable models.

Sound: GT 5P wins hands-down. Engines sound nicer and more realistic, and the in-music is diverse and licensed. Grid truly fumbled the ball here with similar sounding rather weak engines and generic butt rock bgm that has not a single memorable riff. Admittedly one doesn't buy a racing game for the music, but the licensed tracks add some aesthetic appeal to GT 5P.

Scope and Size: GT 5P offers 75 cars, many of which are pretty tedious to drive. Grid offers 45 cars, most of which are lots of fun to drive. However, the fly in the ointment is that GT 5P has more varied and realistic handling among its cars. The 911, the Viper, and the Lancetti all handle remarkably similar in Grid, which really should not be happening. GT 5P by comparison offers a more diverse driving experience. GT 5P however only has 6 tracks while Grid has 15, so Grid offers a bit more to see. However, as mentioned, GT 5P is a work in progress, so we can expect to see many more cars and tracks by the time the finished version appears. Same deal applies to game play Grid offers many different race modes and championship types, while GT 5P has a limited set of events, 40 or so, so the game can be tapped out very quickly. (Assuming you can get past some of the annoyingly difficult races, more on this later). Grid at present has a lot more to do and experience, so at present it will keep the average gamer occupied and interested longer. When the final version of GT 5P appears, we may see a different picture.

Simulation Aspects: Damage is the issue. GT 5Ps car handling is far superior in terms of realism, but when you see the cars bouncing off each other and walls at 150 mph undamaged, the realistic handling seems to take a backseat in consideration of simulation accuracy. The damage system in Grid is superior simply because it exists. However, the lads at Codemasters have retreated a bit from the more realistic damage system in their TOCA games, and your Grid vehicle can take quite a bit of damage before any in-game performance is affected, and the parameters for cataclysmic termination of the race have been raised considerably, so your car can be a veritable wreck on wheels and still win a race. The earlier TOCA games had far more realistic (i.e. harsh) damage modeling, and your vehicle was easy to either wreck altogether or to see it's performance degrade to the point where it could not compete against other racers after a few hard collisions. I guess the Codemaster gang had too many complaints about the high number of restarts needed to finish the average event, so the cars in Grid (as in Dirt) are more Hollywood style in their robust durability.

The current system in Grid is far superior to Forza inasmuch at least there is the possibility of complete elimination from the race for particularly severe collisions. Forza has the silliness of 170 mph head-on crashes that scar your car's skin and then make it pull to the left, a rather unlikely outcome that is only slightly superior to the Gran Turismo invulnerability. Grid is a good compromise in terms of damage modeling, and the added tension of the risk of crashing and the extra graphics pizzazz as you see bumpers fly off and windows shatter make Grid more entertaining and realistic. However, if you hope to see the handling differences between a Skyline and a WRX, Grid is not going to be of any use, so simulation fans have to make a hard choice here, between semi-realistic damage and simplified generic arcade style handling in Grid, or no damage at all and meticulous handing details in GT 5P.

Finally, the GT 5P developers promise there will be a damage system and deformable graphics added to the final build and perhaps even added to the 5P version as downloadable content as soon as this August. I personally am skeptical as to how this will be implemented, as I resemble the Forza-esque "damage" system from GT 2, and have my doubts that the GT 5P programmers are going to be able to give us several hundred deformable graphically detailed and realistically handling cars by the time of the final build, but we will wait and see. Polyphony has gone the extra mile in the past, so a fait accompli in this case would not be impossible.

Gameplay: Grid gets the nod here. The races in Grid are more thrilling due both to the damage system, the superior AI of the other drivers, and the campaign style racing career that is part of the game. Many of the individual races in GT 5P are fun, but the AI of other drivers is still robot-like, and they almost never screw up, never seem to interact with the player or other drivers, and respond little if at all to the player's movement on the track. They will at least avoid you if you park stationary in the middle of the racing line (unlike GT 4 where they would crash into you like cruise missiles repeatedly during the course of each lap) but that is about it. The other drivers in Grid are smarter, more "human" (failable), and at higher difficulty levels will be both aggressive and also willing to retaliate if you clip them. This programming plus the damage makes Grid races more white-knuckle affairs, full of drama and tension. The invulnerable cars racing against robot clones in GT 5P in comparison make that game seem more like you against your own best rather than you against other drivers, and therefore less intense and involving. It is a source for joy and entertainment in Grid to see a rival spin out due to a judgment error or crash into another driver in overtaking gone bad, and this is pretty much absent in GT 5P.

The annoying campaign structure (or lack thereof) of GT 5P should also be mentioned, as your progress in the game can be quite effectively stalled if you cannot finish one of the 10 events in each tier. The Ferrari "pass them all" event in the A level races in particular can literally bring your enjoyment of the game to a halt as you struggle again and again to meet the unpleasantly tough challenge of trying to pass 13 other cars in only one lap on a tough narrow and twisting course. Grid deals better with failure and there is always something else to do to progress in the game if you screw up a particular event. The diversity of Grid events is also appealing, with top speed challenges, touge races, even demolition derbies. The one mis-step in Grid's events are the idiotic drift races, where you compete on a closed course against an opponent whose score is unknown to you and who you never even see on the track. This is not only unfair, but also a bit dull. But you can mainly ignore drift races for most of the game and still have a lot of fun with it.

The lack of a fully developed campaign in GT 5P may well be due to the incremental nature of the game. The final GT 5 will presumably have the same wide range of events that GT 4 did. We may also see improved other driver AI and a damage system added to the final build, but at present, Grid is far more entertaining. The addition of the excellent "flashback" feature in Grid makes a strong package better, and this is a truly revolutionary feature that is very welcome in racing games.

Interface: Grid has many limits in its interface and structure. There is no learning mode, no racing line "cheat", no tutorials. The instant replays are very limited and you cannot change which car the camera focuses on, or save the replay. Stat tracking is limited to some basic numbers that pop up only in the loading screens. GT 5P lacks many of these features too, but the replay system is far better, the racing line feature is invaluable for the less skilled, and the finished build will presumably have the same full feature set of GT 4. Grid could have used a bit more polish here, though to be fair the more arcade like handling makes education of new players a bit less imperative. Still, a tutorial on drifting technique for instance could have made Grid more accessible and friendly to new players. The personalized commentary by name in Grid is cute at first, but the voices say the same thing at the same time over and over again, and you soon find yourself wishing these guys who know your name would just shut up for a bit.

Overall: A tough call the damage system in Grid is a bit deceptive in its leniency, and the game markets itself as more of a simulation than it is. The 45 cars are already exceeded by GT 5P and the final GT 5 will probably have close to 10 times as many cars in it. However, as in GT 4, many of the hundreds of cars will be uninteresting to most players. The limited number of tracks in Grid is more troubling, but the various types of racing make the most of the small number of tracks. The interface in Grid is also a bit rough, and Forza still sets the standard in this area, with Gran Turismo running a close second.

The real issue to me though is game play, and here Grid is the bird in hand versus GT 5's potential bird in the bush. At present, GT 5P is a step forwards for the series only in graphics, and the null damage and tired competing driver AI are very definitely last generation. The races in Grid are more thrilling, and the campaign structure more engaging. This may change with the final build of GT 5, but to expect radical revisions in damage and compu-racer intelligence may be a tad optimistic. Even compared to the final build of GT 5, Grid may well have more exciting racing, better handling of damage, and more unpredictable and reactive AI. The final ace in the hole for Grid is that it is fully functional now a more competitive GT 5 may well take 6 months or more to come down the turnpike. If you need something to race now, Grid undoubtedly is the better deal even at its $60 price versus GT 5P's $40 list. If you are choosing between buying Grid and Prologue now buy Grid, finish it, and wait to see how the final build of GT 5 addresses the series' traditional weak points. Prologue is a tech demo and money maker for Polyphony, worthy at most of a rental, and if the final build of GT 5 does not make significant progress in core game play elements like damage and AI, then Grid will seem all the more of an achievement.

My review of GT5 Prologue elsewhere on Amazon reveals how disappointed I was with that preview to the full game. Things are a lot different this time around though. I downloaded the demo for Grid from the PS3 store first of all. 983Mb, so it took a while, but once it was installed and I was able to start playing wow. The next day I went out and traded GT5 Prologue at my local games store and bought the full version of Grid. Why? Because Grid is exciting to play.

How can this be? It doesn't run at 60Hz. It doesn't run in 1080p (it's a 720p game). The graphics aren't as clean. The physics isn't as accurate. Surely GT5 Prologue ought to be head and shoulders above Grid?

In the computer graphics world, there's a concept called The Uncanny Valley it's when CGI becomes so real that humans no longer accept it as being real any more. GT 5 Prologue has crossed the Uncanny Valley. Grid hasn't and it's so much better for it. The graphics are grubbier, dirtier and rougher more like the real world. That's not to say they're worse. Not by any stretch of the imagination. In fact the detail on the cars and tracks in Grid is every bit as complex as that in GT 5 Prologue. Pause a replay or look around the cars in the garage the detail goes as far as manufacturer logos on the wheel rims and brake calipers.

The single big-ticket item for me though is that Grid has solved the two biggest problems with GT 5 Prologue. Grid has car damage, and it's AI for the other drivers is stunning. First the car damage it's incremental. Starting with scratched paint, bent wings and cracked windows. Keep up the reckless driving and bumpers will work loose and windows will pop out. Keep going and you can bend just about every part of the car. It all affects the car handling too not extremely, but it is noticable. Steering can pull to one side or the other, acceleration can be dulled, brakes can lose their efficiency. Cracked radiators, bent air intakes all affect the performance of your car. It's more arcade than simulation, but frankly it's so much better for it. Best of all, like Forza and other racers, when something drops off a car, it's persistent it stays on the track creating a hazard for competitors behind. Same goes for tyre walls whack into one of those and the tyres will fly all over the place, scattering into the crowd and track. Oh and the crowd 3D people that cheer and chant, and if you smack the wall right next to them, jump back. A nice touch.

On to the AI front, a breath of fresh air from the awful GT 5 Prologue disaster. Drivers jostle for position all over the track. They will get aggressive with you if you get aggressive with them. They make mistakes, often spinning out or crashing into each other or trackside objects. Fabulous. Love it.

You can whip up a paint job for your team from some basic choices of patterns and colours. It's got nowhere near the amount of tunability and customisation that some racers do but really do you need it? There's plenty of variety in Grid to give you a custom look to your team. On top of that, the more you race, the more sponsors become available to you, so you can stuff sponsor stickers all over your ride to make more money when you race.

Other graphics touches are nice the tyre smoke effects, dirt and sparks from the odd hard landing or excursion into the grass. Realtime reflections and shadows from everything. It's all gravy but it's all brilliant.

There are a raft of racing events to choose from Pro Stock, Touring Cars, Destruction Derby, Open-wheel, Drift, Pro Togue the list goes on. There's a large choice of tracks and a reasonable good choice of cars to choose from. Most tracks have a couple of different versions with forward and reverse options coming up later in the game.

The in-race music is patchy it only seems to exist in a couple of races and I'm not sure why. Nobody in the Codemasters support forums seems to know why either but it's not a biggie. When racing there are plenty of ambient sound effects going on around you, even if the engine sounds are all a bit samey.

The replay facility is exciting to watch but it is a little limited. You can only focus on your car and you can't rotate the camera around, and there's no save facility. There are 5 or 6 predetermined camera choices including TV-style coverage which is nice, and the ability to slow the action down to ultra-slow-motion is really a nice addition. Grid also comes with a flashback feature. If you cock something up in a race, you can watch an instant replay and then choose the point in the replay from which you want a do-over. You'd think that would make it easy to win the races but in reality it doesn't. You only get between 2 to 6 chances in a race depending on your difficulty level. Each time you use one, you lose potential cash and reputation from your end-of-race winnings. The more cash you have, the more cars you can buy. The more reputation you earn, the more you can demand for racing for other teams. Yes you have your own team, but you can also race for others as a sort of 'gun for hire'. Once you've progressed far enough you can also hire a second driver to drive a second car for you, doubling the chances of making money. As you work your way through the game your reputation level also unlocks more licence classes to race in 10 in all, split 3 ways between US-, Euroand Japanese-Racing once you've won your way through the basic licence.

Grid's online mode is also a lot better than GT 5 Prologue's too. It's intuitive and easy to use, and doesn't seem to really care about how your internet connection is set up. There is not a lot of noticable lag which makes for a nice, smooth racing environment. You can opt to join an existing lobby on the internet, or set up one of your own and wait for others to come to you. If you set up your own lobby, you can set a couple of different options, like damage levels and whether or not the race employs 'catch up' to keep the racers closer together. The only thing that marrs the online play is that you'll inevitably get one or two idiots who, once they've realised they're not at the front, will turn around and race the wrong way around to try to crash into everyone else. But I guess that's the motor racing equivalent of the 5 year old Korean kid who knows every glitch in first person shooters and appears to be able to snipe you from across the map.

Most importantly though, Grid is exciting to play. Properly exciting enough to annoy you when you lose a race and make you want to run it over again to try to improve your ranking. It has plenty of eye-candy, plenty of replayability and plenty of variety. And that is why, for the time being, Grid trumps GT 5 Prologue in every category. Sure GT5P is a "preview" or "expensive demo" but if Polyphony don't learn from what Codemasters have done with Grid, the full version of GT5 will falter and ultimately fail. Grid doesn't fail it wins comprehensively. Download the demo and I bet you'll end up buying the full game.

You've already read other people's reviews and they are generally spot-on. However, they don't make it obvious that you can't have a friend over and play one-on-one. WTF? This is a COLOSSAL downgrade in my opinion. I can only play with people online or find a friend and drag him over and set him up on LAN play with his dedicated PS3/TV.

Great game, but you've been warned...

Read Best Reviews of GRID Here

I love racing games but am not a huge fan of the realistic-type racing games (Gran Turismo, Forza, etc.). I read a lot of reviews of GRID before buying it and wasn't sure whether I would care for it or not. I am a big fan of the Burnout series. I am not a huge fan of the Need for Speed series because I am not really into cars that use spoilers as decoration and use blown-out mufflers to make them sound louder.

That being said, GRID is probably the best racing game I have ever played. I like the fact that you build your own racing team including designing your own "branding" for that team but you don't get bogged down with choosing decals and other countless inane customization options. The cars in GRID are actual cars (Corvette, Lamborghini, Aston-Martin, etc) as opposed to the Burnout cars that may be modelled after real cars but have silly names.

The racing in GRID is NOT realistic like Gran Turismo but it's more realistic than Burnout. You start the race with one car and if you bang up that car during a race, it can affect the performance of that car. You have several (usually 5) opportunities during a race to cue the instant replay and re-start just before you crashed so you don't have to completely avoid crashes altogether but you can't just bounce off of walls and other cars for the entire race like you can in Burnout, for example. Unlike the latest Burnout offering (Burnout Paradise), you CAN restart any race at any time. There are drifting events and head-to-head races as well as endurance events like the "24 hours at Le Mans" race.

As you progress with your racing team, you can add drivers to your team so that you have multiple entries in the same race. The tracks vary depending on whether you race in Europe, U.S. or Japan but you don't get bored racing the same track over and over again because they change the tracks for different races. Sometimes, you race in the opposite direction on a particular track and sometimes they add sections to a particular track. So, you don't get bored racing the same tracks all the time.

I found a lot of conflicting reviews before buying this game and was still not sure what I was going to get when I played it. That's why I have posted this review. Hopefully, it will clear up any confusion there might be about what kind of racing game GRID is for those of you who may be on-the-fence about purchasing it.

Bought this game after reading a great review from Game Informer. There is a genre of racing games like this one (GT particularly) and they have always seemed too realistic to meI am not looking to spin out every corner because I failed to take the perfect line or crash into a wall given the extra ounce of pressure I placed on the R2 button. I can see the attraction for GT etc but I am more of a Burnout or MotorStorm racing fanjust let it be fun and fast.

For those like me Grid comes very close to crossing the line into 'too realistic' territory. I am just in the early levels and spinning out and crashing into walls and finishing last are the norm.

Yet I stuck with it because the graphics are awesome and the sense of speed is beyond belief. And when I finally won a race the feeling was greatthere is a sense of accomplishment that I did not feel when I was tearing up Burnout.

The career mode is deep and the race choices are varied so I feel I can find my niche. Overall, Grid not only shows what my PS3 is capable of but offers a fast and satisfying racing experience. I am glad I pulled the trigger here and bought it.

I'm really into military/war type games, so I decided to give this one a shot. And I really like this game. It's a bit harder than the older MOH games, however, game play is interesting! You actually get dropped out of planes for each mission, you can land anywhere you like! You can land with your teammates, or you can land behind enemy lines, it's up to you....Each time you play the game it's always different, which is kind of refreshing in today's world of video games.

Weapons are your standard 1940's weapons (American & German), grenades, M1 Garand, bazooka, etc etc

While I do find the controls a bit awkward right now, I'm sure after some time I'll get used to them. I must say the graphics are very nice, weapons are very true to life, game play is very smooth...

Overall, great game, with HOURS upon HOURS of replay value. Remember: Each time you play, it's totally different.

This is the first game I've played for PS3, and I was intrigued with the concept of the game. I'm a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, and I was thrilled to see my former job (from an earlier era of course) being brought to life. For a video game, it's a hoot, a lot of a fun to play (like all MOH games). If you like any past MOH games, you'll love this one...and while I haven't been playing it for more than a day, I'm dying to pick up the controller again.

It is great how you can start anywhere on the map from the time you jump, instead of just appearing somewhere on the battlefield to face the same enemy and watching for the same enemy movement and such. The A.I. for the enemy is pretty good, they react to what you do very well. For instance, if you start hitting them hard with grenades and automatic fire, the enemy will start pulling back and digging in, they won't just start running toward you so that you can continue to mow them down. If they're dug in with a gun, you'd better be a sharp shooter, otherwise taking out a gun is a serious hassle (as it should be).

As for the graphics, I was expecting better, but when you're dealing with MOH, the gameplay more than makes up for any deficiencies there. I highly recommend "Airborne!"

This is a good addition to the series and the game is fun to play, however, there are some things I dislike about this game, which is:

It is not compatible with the dual shock 3 controller, so no rumbling when firing your weapons. Which is totally difference then the rest of the series, that's disappointing.

EA didn't include actual WW2 video footage, like in the rest of the series. I'm a big WW2 fan, so I enjoyed seeing what actually happened in the war.

You can't do a military crawl like the rest of the series and I don't like the way grenades explode it's kind-of weak.

It's too short; which is my complaint regarding the entire series, with the exception of FRONTLINE, which is the best one out of the entire series; in my humble opinion.

If I had to rank the series (FOR PS2 & PS3 users), it would be in this order: FRONTLINE, EUROPEAN ASSAULT, AIRBORNE, RISING SUN. I put European Assault ahead of the PS3 Airborne because of the things I mention above (no actual WW2 video footage, no controller rumbling, no crawl, grenades exploding and its too short.) That's also the reason why I gave it 4 stars. If I could have giving it 3 1/2 stars then I would have. It gets 4 stars because of weapon upgrades. But all and all, it's a fun game

This is a game that understands what it's all about. It took about 3 levels to finally appreciate this game for everything it is, but once I got into it I really, really love it. I would say this is the best WW2 fps I've ever played. This game shows that you don't need the best graphics and most advanced gaming engine to have a lot of fun.

At the beginning of every level you float into the board on a parachute and you have to land properly and in the right area or you will be struggling for several seconds to get your gear off, stand up, and pull out your weapon and if you don't land in a safe zone, you will be bludgeoned to oblivion before you can even fire a shot. You also respawn floating down on the board again so you get a lot of chances to perfect this.

With each weapon there are three possible upgrades that you get by killing krauts with each particular weapon. This makes for some very addictive and fun gameplay and once your weapons are fully juiced up you're unstoppable.

My favorite part of this game is that every board is an open battlefield with multiple objectives that you can accomplish in any way you see fit. There are always several ways to assault a position, or take out the enemy and I get a lot of satisfaction by sneaking around behind the enemy while my boys are engaging them from the front and mercilessly slaughtering them! Oh what sick creatures we are!

I had high hopes when I bought this game. WW2 shooters are almost always guaranteed fun, but not this game. When you start the game there is almost no training on the use of the controls. You kind of have to just figure out what buttons do what on your own. Shoot, duck, zoom are totally different buttons from most every other ps3 shooter and takes a lot of getting used to. When you play the missions the enemy respawns an unlimited amount of solders which kills the game for me. It feels like you're playing against an endless flow of Germans that can never be beat. In a real war you would want to hide where you can't be shot at and shoot off people one by one. The problem with that is that when you kill someone there is an unlimited amount of people to take his place so you have to always keep moving and pushing forward to gain any ground. The AI is terrible also. The Americans will sit and shoot in one spot forever, there aim sucks and the only way to advance your troops is to go blazing in like Rambo by yourself. Overall this game was a big letdown unrealistic game play, hard to use buttons, and mediocre graphics. Definitely don't buy, don't even rent just pick up a different game

Here's what we start with: Zombie apocalypse caused by illegal biological research. The company responsible sends in a crack team of specialists to eradicate all evidence and silence all witnesses. There are no saints among this crew, all are in this for their own twisted ends and don't care for mercy, compassion, or ethics.

Sounds great, huh? HOW DID CAPCOM MESS THAT UP????

The AI is so stupid that it wanders directly in the middle of your fire not once or twice, but EVERY TIME. (Nothing new there and in fact this is a notorious capcom design decision forcing you to play with a human and hopefully sell more copies that way.) Also, half the time it forgets that it has a weapon equipped or that you gave it a healing item and will REFUSE to fire at enemies or heal itself rather than dying. This isn't complicated this is so basic I learned it at my high school programming class!

Silence witnesses? Never found a one. Oh, there were opposing humans like other Umbrella corp employees (WTF?) and characters from other games who met their demise in those games, thus you know right from the start that A: This guy is invincible for some reason. B: His entire purpose is to fire on you relentlessly as you deal with never ending waves of zombies to achieve an objective that frankly your character wouldn't waste his time on. C: You should have bought any other game.

Let's talk about the first mission out of the gate. Break into an umbrella facility, destroy it, retrieve evidence and kill everyone there. EVEN YOUR CHARACTER ASKS RIGHT OFF THE BAT WHY THEY DON'T JUST PICK UP THE PHONE AND ASK FOR WHAT THEY WANT. Hello? You're pointing out why this makes absolutely no sense! These guys work for you. Just tell them to have that stuff ready for pick up, why would they care? They're mercs and YOU SIGN THEIR CHECKS!

Oh yeah and apparently people developed superhuman abilities when you weren't looking because, even on easy, they take about a dozen shots to the head to kill. There is NO hit detection specific to body part, which is pretty much an industry standard and a standard to the RE series since game 1.

All that excitement to finally play the bad guy for once and you're still fighting zombies, all the enemies from RE 2 & 3, the nemesis, Did I miss something? I'm on your side guys!?!?! I could understand fighting the mutants but come on Nicholi, do YOU even remember your motivation? You're killing off the other team leaders/teams to get the bonus for information gathering. This is the team you would hand that stuff to in order to get the bonus at all. If you kill the team of elite specialists sent in (that have no interest in stopping you) do you really think Umbrella is just going to cut you a check? Oh and his master plan to kill you? Zombies........with bombs taped to their heads. Why green light that? It's the stupidest thing I've ever HEARD of, now imagine somebody trying to pawn that off as a credible threat. I saw that on my first play through and died because I was too busy laughing at how absurd the whole thing had gotten, I mean the series not just this game.

I pray for the day they finally give me a zombie game that actually takes the intelligence of it's audience seriously. This wasn't just a slap in the face by the industry or by capcom specifically, this was like a middle finger in your face while stealing your wallet. Then you get home and find out that capcom broke in and stole your couch for good measure. Well, I played it, I beat it, and even completed all the pointless grinding annoying trophies on the list, then destryed the disc in a flash of vengeance.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't recommend buying this game.......I need to lie down....

The Smackdown game series since about Here Comes the Pain has been on a downward spiral. Many loyal fans of the series abandoning it because they felt like THQ were putting the minimal effort into the game, simply because they knew it would sell. In many ways they were justified for turning their back on the series as it gave THQ the wake up call they needed. This game seems like one of the very first games in the series that a hell of a lot of effort was put into it. With a massive roster, an easy to use yet detailed controlling system and a beefed up tag system this game was bound to be a success. First off THQ needs to reassure the abandoning fans that this is a very different game from the originals. One way in doing that is giving them one thing the fans have always wanted, a "create a finisher" mode. The very notion that you can now create your own finisher is something that the fans think will make a massive difference to such a game. Anyway, the modes are going to be discussed in a minute but in a nutshell this game is really good.

The Roster: This contains over 60 wrestlers, none of them legends but the sheer size of the roster itself is enough to allow you to effectively use the newly updated tag team system. The real gem for this particular installment is the announcement that in order to keep the rosters from becoming out dated, THQ are going to finally utilise the Playstation Network by allowing downloadable content. This will not only feature wrestlers but will allow other additions such as possible new storylines or looks for current superstars to match what is going on in TV land. The first announcement of the DLC is although there is not yet a date, superstars Evan Bourne and Ted DiBiase Jr. are confirmed to be a part of it along with a few other little things.

Game Modes: In exchange for the previous installments WWE 24/7 mode, we're now given Road to Wrestlemania and Career Mode. Road to Wrestlemania is essentially a shortened Season Mode starting from around the Royal Rumble and is tailor made for specific superstars. A drawback to this is that you can only play as either Triple H, CM Punk, Undertaker, John Cena, Chris Jericho or Batista & Rey Mysterio as part of a co-op RTW play. There's also a career mode which is basically a never ending thing with no story, it's just fight to earn a shot at a title, win, then fight for another title. You can do that with anyone.

There's also the new Create A Finisher which I haven't tried yet but will get around to eventually. I've never really been fan of the create a wrestler things so if you really want to know then I'd check out other reviews.

To wrap it up in 4 simple words? I Love This Game. It's fun, it's easy and it's packed. The only problem is that when I've managed to complete all the RTW's I can imagine becoming quite un-interested with it until we get the DLC anyway. Hopefully along with new superstars, THQ will be able to give us new RTW storylines and arenas to keep us occupied with the DLC until the next installment. This type of thing will also allow THQ to give us a lot more to the game with constant updates instead of trying to put as much on the disc as possible before release date.

I'm also praying that trophies will follow eventually although it's looking doubtful for this particular installment. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who's a fan of wrestling.

The main thing about this game that is better are the controls. Anybody can grab the controller and perform suplexes or superstar finishers. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is around the corner so I expect that game to be awesome as well. If you want to get this game for the lower price at this time I highly recommend. You will be amazed by the various match types, numerous superstar selection to choose from, the realistic graphics and great overall gameplay.

Let me start by saying that I've followed this series since Dynasty Warriors 3. In my opinion, that was its peak. I've bought every game, and many of the expansions. Upon hearing that battles from previous games would be included, I was hopeful that the good old DW3 maps would be a focal point. They were not. There are a couple maps from each installment from DW3 to DW6. There is really only one mode with significant replay value, and that's legend mode, which features a nice collection of battles to be unlocked and played with any character you want. You return to your castle town after each battle. The town features a strategist from which you can purchase increased attack, defense, points, speed, or power for the character you have selected. You also can purchase weapons from the weapon-smith, and choose which of about 10 places to send a merchant who brings back gold, weapons, or guardian animals. You also appoint an adjutant to watch over the castle town, but he really doesn't matter. The battles feel no different from DW7, but they are quite enjoyable. You can play with friends now, which is nice. I'm glad Koei remembered that some people still have friends. The new characters are fun to play with and I love the new weapons. I've nearly beat the game, and I can't help but feel rather unsatisfied. The game feels kind of empty. I realized this was because of the lack of cutscenes and no progressive story for each character. Before each battle, the story is read to you as the stage loads, but this hardly takes the place of the epic, mood-setting movies and unique stages of the older installments. Some of the battles are rather cheesy. For example, on one of the last battles, you follow Liu Shan around as he says stupid things and looks for childhood toys and friends. There are a few cutscenes, but they are rare and not all that exciting. One thing that really disappointed me is that you can't choose the BGM for the battles. Basically, this is a collection of new battles and a good way to level up characters. If you liked DW7, you should enjoy this, but there is little that is really "legendary" or "extreme" about DW7 Xtreme Legends.

I have been a long time fan of this series. So, when a new one came out, of course I bought it. While there are some nice new features (described in the description), and three new characters, I found Legend Mode to be where I am spending most of my time. The new weapons, as always are neat, and the OMG THIS IS INSANE mode is exactly what it promises. However, Legend Mode lets you pick a character and bring a dead town back to life. There are plenty of new scenes for this Mode, new stages (or just ones from old games and revamped ones), and a new ability....buy ups in your life/attack/defense/etc. The most annoying areas were the still disappearing characters (the enemy gets too far away and vanishes) and having to change disks between XL and 7 to play Legend Mode. This is a great addition to the series with a great deal of replay value.

The title says it all. The amount you enjoy this game will depend on which systems you enjoyed the most. I started with Dynasty Warriors 3 so it's hard to say that I really loved this game because you can't create your own officers and I miss the body guard system. Regardless, good game and if like me you will play every game in this genre regardless of quality then I recommend it.

I really wanted to like this steering wheel. It's physical design and fell are nice but it has some fatal flaws.

Pros: sturdy build, nice hand grips, adjustable buttons, cheaper than other wheels

Cons: Not even close to responsive enough, wired, suction cups are too small

I'm just going to focus on why this steering wheel fails. This wheel doesn't even come close to emulating a real steering wheel. To simulate pushing all the way to left or right on a control pad you need to turn the wheel 90 degrees. This means it's nearly impossible to quickly and accuratly correct the car you are driving. If this steering wheel had a range of motion of 90 degrees instead of 180 it would be much more usable.

Trying to use this steering wheel with "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit" is beyond fusturating. I don't know if it's the game or the wheel but all of your actions seemed delayed by a fraction of a second. This made the game unplayable.

The small suction cups don't grip well on a glass surface (which should be one of the best surfaces for it). The entire unit kept sliding around.

I bought this wheel on Amazon for $24 during a special. I wouldn't buy it again at that price nevermind paying over $60.

I'm not going to return this unit now. I'm going to try it wil future racing games. If I get different results on multiple games I'll update this review.

I got this car racing wheel and I have used it on many games, and I have no complaints. It steers fine, and the pedals are perfect. The only minor thing is, (rarely but sometimes) the wheels suction cups don't stick perfectly to wherever you stick them to. Also, you can't adjust your wheel. Other than that, it's a GREAT racing wheel!

And this wheel is for Ps2 AND Ps3.

there are a few bad things about this product a buyer should know about. 1st the light bar connects off of the video output so if you are using a composite cable beware you might get a worse picture than normal. for ppl using a component cable DON'T BUY IT! it is not compatible. hdmi and optical output cables are un-touched so if you are using those, dont worry. like someone else has said earlier the light will expose the cables in the back so it might be a good idea to re arrange your set up to have the ps3 on top. it also has another ac power plug and it needs the space below the plug cuz its big.

I thought this was going to light up my ps3 and make it look even more sleek and hitech than it appears. But, this is a complete waste of money. First of all, the clips in the back dont properly fit the ps3 so it doesnt actually lock. Secondly, now theres an extra wire.. and to top it off it lights the back (i thought it was the front) but it lights up in the back and displays all the wires hanging in the back. I tried my best to hide all the wires, but the lighting and the product itself is just so horribly designed it shudnt be worth more than $3 if you ask me.

The light is in the back of the console i thought it was in the front, plus you can't use it with Playstation 3 Air Cooler, you have to choose between them to attach it on the back, don't waste your money.

I bought this in early 2006. So early that I even pre-ordered it. The LED's are bright and can even be dimmed down or be pointing at a certain angle. It fits my 60GB very nice. No problems with it not fitting, or falling apart. The LED unit looks like it was factory installed on the PS3, everything looks stock and not modded by a 3rd party. Yes there is an extra cable coming from your PS3, even though I have limited space in my room. I managed to hide everything behind my TV. The only wires that you can see in my room are 3 from the extended power outlets. Though it will probably look messy if you dont have the proper cable management skill. This thing glows bright in a dark room. It matches the LED's under my whole desk and the lights behind my TV. Awesome for a unique accent to a gaming room. I like it!

Want PS3 Lumen8 Light Bar Discount?

I guess the two reviewers who thought this plugs into the front of the PS3 can't read the product description or notice the orientation of the PLAYSTATION 3 logo in the photo that shows the bar attached to the PS3.

This is an LED lightbar that connects to the BACK of the PS3. It has a pass through for the ports it attaches to on the back of the PS3. It also has a couple brightness levels.

The main reason I bought this is to have some kind of lighting in the bottom of my A/V rack so I could see the slot on the front of the PS3. Maybe a flashlight would have worked as well!!

The one-star review is complete rubbish; the author obviously misread the word "charges" and thought this bundle would come with an extra $80 worth of peripherals, so he decided to take his own mistake out on Amazon and Dreamgear. I've purchased the Dreamgear 6-1 bundle with the gloves; you can read my review over on that page to check it out: . I normally wouldn't post a review in this manner, and I hope it's not taken as disingenuous, but I felt I had to be fair to the company and amend the other reviewer's unfairness. Look, you know exactly what you're getting in these bundles; this one happens to come with cables (and I hope someone comes along to fill in the blank on the headset). I have the charger and it's an excellent one, though you should keep in mind that the LEDs are very, very bright and there's only room to charge one Move controller on the cradle (if you want to charge two others, you have to use the USB ports in back of the charger).

I have had this item for a week now. I love the charge station! I keep my cell phone charger plugged into one USB slot, my wireless headset plugged into the other. It has it's own power supply so EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS CHARGED FOR ME, even if I haven't turned my !! No more picking controller up and it's dead.. headset dying 10 minutes into a game... looking for an open outlet to plug cell phone into.

Even when something does die(I game for 12-14 hours straight A LOT), the 10ft USB charging cable is great to keep me in the games!

I have the HDMI cord in use also. Maybe a slight improvement over my cheap HDMI from Wal-Mart. I can't testify one way or the other though... My eyes don't get strained as easily now it seems.

Definite recommendation

This game is not that bad. It doesn't have mind blowing graphics like a next gen game should. It is sort of like Fat Princess meets Little Big Planet. I paid $60 bucks for it and honestly it is not worth that much. This is a $30 game at best. It is fun chopping up characters and skating around in their blood, but it does get old especially when it is not an open environment. The boss levels are a bit challenging so there is some hope. Unfortunately, you never really die. I mean you do, but you keep coming back to where you left off. There are 50 trophies to get, if anything that should keep you interest for a while. I tried to play online, but I don't think a whole lot of people own this game yet (nobody there). This game will probably become more popular as the price drops. It is fun and the animations are humorous so if you got cash to burn or you have a twisted sense of humor like myself then add this game to your collection otherwise rent it or wait till the price drops.

I thought this game was great, its a good game to play if you just want something that takes NO strategy or thinking, its just a good old fashioned hack and slash! I gave this game a 5 star review based on the price i paid. I got it used on Amazon Warehouse deals, and only paid $9.99, and it was worth every penny. I say if you get it for under $14.99 it will hold its 5 stars.

$15.00 $19.99 4 Stars

$20.00 $24.99 3 Stars

$25.00 or more 2 stars, (wait till you can get it cheaper!)

If you scale down the flaws in the game and compare it to the price you get it for, i think you can overlook some quirks here and there and have yourself a really good game!

Overall, this is a fun game to play. As others stated, the camera angle gets a little funky at times. Turning the zoom feature off definitely helps, though.
