I'm not ordinarily a big fan of first-person shooters. I generally find them a bit tedious and splatter-oriented. I also have shied away from survival horror games like Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil. I'm fond of real-time strategy games like Command and Conquer and more puzzle-oriented shooters like Metroid or Ratchet & Clank. I'm also a big fan of old-school adventures like Myst, Obsidian, Syberia.

So, it was with some trepidation that I popped Bioshock into my Mac, after all these years of waiting for it to be ported to this platform.

Bottom line: Bioshock isn't the usual tired FPS/survival horror retread. It is atmospheric, exhilarating, creepy, and deserves all of its accolades as a ground-breaking gaming landmark. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to experience one of the most enthralling games of the last decade.

In terms of performance, by the way, this game runs exceptionally-well on my 27" iMac (3 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4670+256 MB VRAM) on Snow Leopard in the game's default modes. Cranking up the resolution to the maximum screen resolution (2560x1440) and graphics details maxed out on all possible settings (shadows, water, etc) does result in a some choppiness. It's playable in that mode, but things get hairy in melee encounters with multiple splicers attacking simultaneously. For the best performance on a display this size, dropping the resolution and graphical options down a tick or two will improve display smoothness.

All in all, I'd give this game the highest rating I've ever given a game. Now, on to Bioshock 2!

Many people have already extensively discussed BioShock's story, features, and gameplay in reviews of the console versions of the game, so I'm just going to talk about a few things I've noticed as a long-time fan of first-person shooters.

*BioShock is one of the most well-written games ever. Even if you aren't familiar with Ayn Rand, the story is rich, moving, and deeply satisfying. The voice acting, character development, and cutscenes are all of very high quality.

*The underwater setting is unique (finally, a game not set on a distant planet, a tropical island, a military base, or some combination of those) and beautifully realized. The music, environmental sounds and Art Deco graphics are all well done and add a lot to the playing experience.

*Each level is designed well and contains a fair amount of territory to explore. You are on rails more or less, as in all FPS games, but there is enough freedom to avoid making the game feel oppressively linear.

*Overall, the game is not terribly difficult. Boss battles are only slightly harder than fights with generic enemies, for the most part, and there aren't any ridiculously difficult puzzles to solve. The developers focused more on the story and on making all aspects of the game fit together holistically, rather than on trying to come up with mega-challenges for diehard gamers.

*Replayability is high, due to the way weapons and powers are earned as well as to the ability to follow different strategies throughout the game. Having said that, BioShock isn't as chock full of hidden features, secret abilities, and obscure actions as Japanese games (the Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil series all come to mind here. And yes, I know SH and RE are survival horror games, not FPS's).

-----

Bottom line: despite being a port to the Mac, BioShock is still one of the best games currently available. Anybody who enjoys FPS and action games will dig BioShock. Judged on gameplay mechanics alone, BioShock is a four star game but the stunning graphics, high production values, and outstanding storyline push it to five stars.

I bought this game direct from Feral Interactive. Love the game and they have great customer support. They are fast and courteous. If you needed 'em, feel free to contact them. They are friendly like Amazon.com.

PROs: Great game play. Nice port for the MAC (exception for the driver NVIDIA driver issue). The XBOX 360 Wireless Controller is fully supported. I have the PC version of this game and the MAC version looks almost exactly like the PC version. The water rendering is different on the MAC side. Overall this game is a must have.

Only problem that I have is Apple has some NVIDA graphic card driver issues. This interferes with this game's performance, see below.

CONs: NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! I stated this three times because this game only plays for about 5-7 minutes till the game freezes. This is not Feral's problem. Apple needs to get their act together with NVIDIA and create a patch to update the existing driver.

I contacted Feral Technical Support (fast and courteous) and they acknowledged the NVIDIA driver issue immediately. Snow Leopard broke something within the NVIDIA graphic card driver. They've stated that they can't do much until Apple and NVIDIA corrects the Snow Leopard NVIDIA driver. I have Snow Leopard (disappointed in it) and Feral Interactive stated that they hope OS 10.6.2 update will resolve the freezing issue. Let's hope Apple gets it together. Also, Feral has issued an interim patch to help with the stuttering issue.

I have utilized BootCamp for the PC version of this game. This game plays beautifully on my Windows XP partition. I use the same graphic card (NVIDIA 8800) on both Operating Systems. So I know it's not a RAM and Graphic card issue.

It's difficult to put into words in any sort of new way the accolades of compliments this game received from professional publications whereas I wouldn't come across as sophomoric. I'll begin, then, with something small that sets me apart from those publications; personal computer specs!

MacPro (Early 2009 Edition)

Mac OS X 10.6.2/Quad-Core Xeon W3520 2.66GHz

3GB RAM/640GB HDD/2 SuperDrives (DVD-RW)/ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB

My intention is not to gloat I hope, I get a new computer every few years and this is the latestI had an MDD G4 1GHz/1GB RAM/Radeon 9800Pro for years.

If you've played the console editions as I have the one noticeable lower quality is in the introduction where your character is on the planeon the console versions, if I am not mistaken, this is rendered in real time using Bioshock's [Unreal 3] engine... here, it is videountil you crash, which is quite a short amount of time from when you click New Game anyway, and here's where the computer version shines (read; outshines).

The graphics are amazingyou have to *see* the water effects to really appreciate it. Almost every little detail of the game's locales has a very deliberately unique feel to it and the storyline will suck you in as it is tightly wound up in your actions. For a really good, visual review of this game I'd hunt down the Bioshock review on the GameTrailers com website.

As an extra note: This game takes advantage of multiple core CPUs and hunting down the INI located at "~/Library/Preferences/Feral Interactive/Bioshock/MacInit/Bioshock.ini" look for "HavokNumThreads=2" and change the "2" to the number of CPU cores you have. In my case this is "4". The game will not recognize a number higher than the amount of PHYSICAL CORES you have so forget about the hypothetical Hyperthreading number, FYI. The fluidity of the game was immediately noticeable after changing this value. For more on tweaking check out TweakGuides com's Bioshock pagejust about anything applicable to the PC version is applicable to the Mac version.

My Dell monitor's maximum resolution is 1680x1050 and Bioshock runs quite well at this resolution with all settings at maximum... the consoles max out at 1080p with the optimum set-up and can't compare to the computer version's resolution or textures/graphics.

Now, utilizing flip-flop politics, I digress to the storyline. Again I can't go into much detail because I won't regurgitate what's already been said, but as was the aphorism of Reading Rainbow(tm); "...but don't just take my word for it!" Even if you don't like first person shootersand I've read a handful of people comment agreeably from that campyou will very likely enjoy this game.

Get it.

WOW! What am amazing game! After hearing about this game for the longest time and seeing what a monster hit Bioshock 2 became, I had to try this out. I'm the to say that I am NOT a first person shooter person, I suck at it and I just don't get very involved in most of the FPS stories. But Bioshock changed the way I look at FPS, the story is complex and involving, it grabs you. And the way the stories are told is extremely creative and different from all the other games.

In conclusion, if you haven't played it, I highly recommend!!

We were wanting an s-video cable for our PS2. I had read somewhere that PS2 cables worked for the PS3, so I took a gamble that it would work the other way around. It works like a charm. It seems very durable (unlike some other cables) and I guess that it will probably outlast our PS2. Highly recommend if you need it.

This is the first Ridge Racer game I've ever actually played. It looked pretty interesting from the trailers so I decided to pick it up when a copy finally arrived at my local Best Buy 5 days after it was supposed to be out (Gamestop, Amazon and every other outlet seems to have also gotten the ps3 copies late). The game features destructible environment pieces scattered around the track that can either serve as shortcuts or means to wreck racers surrounding you. If that sounds familiar, it's because it totally is!

First of all, the game is rather frustrating at times. You start out with 1 car available to you and you stand no chance of catching up to any of the AI racers and will see yourself in the bottom 4 until you unlock 1 or 2 more cars. What keeps it from being an annoyingly frustrating game is that it's actually really fun to "frag" other racers. It doesn't really do much to help you overall since the lead car has probably already lapped you though. The biggest problem I seem to have is the controls.

I'm used to Hot Pursuit's excellent drifting controls. This game is much like Blur in the sense that it's much harder to control and often times just pointless. One minute you'll be just fun going to drift around a tight corner and the next you'll find yourself completely turned around (in other words, don't floor it after you drift into the wall and stop for a second). If that doesn't happen, you'll find yourself wrecking often. There's been several instances where I fill my boost/frag gauge up and go to smash through a building and my boost will end 2 ft before the wall and wreck. Also, no matter how much of a lead you think you have, if you wreck, you're going to end up at the end of the pack. You'll also frequently notice the AI rebuilding boost at an incredible rate. To fill your boost meter, you can go really fast, drift, catch a lot of air (it is possible to fill your boost meter from a long distance jump alone), or drafting. There are lots of other in-game perks to doing this stuff as well.

To keep you interested in the single player races, the game has a lot of in-game awards for random things you can do during a race. Things like jump distance, amount of racers fragged, number of objects destroyed, reaching ludicrous speed, and even drafting for long periods of time will net you awards which are the most effective way to earn XP early on since you won't exactly be placing 1st right off the bat. Outside of all of this stuff, the game also offers online multiplayer with a slight twist.

You have your standard racing modes but what's kinda cool about the online component in Unbounded is you can create your own city. It's a very basic track editor but you can create several events across it. What's also pretty cool is to publish it, you have to race on it and while doing so, you will earn xp and various awards. I found this method to be quite useful in not only netting myself some trophies but also leveling up a little faster. You can view and participate in other users cities as well and try to beat their times. It's a cool extra feature you don't see in a lot of racing games. But outside of that, the game really isn't anything super special that you haven't or can't find in another game and to top it off, the online community is almost non-existent and there is NO local split-screen multiplayer. So unless you have a friend with another ps3 and tv in the same room as you, you'll probably just be playing this by yourself.

Overall, this game is cool if you're used to racing games and are looking for a little more of a challenge. Everything this game does is something other games like Split/Second, Burnout: Paradise, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Gran Turismo 5 and Blur do on a better scale. It's certainly not a horrible game by any means but without an online community and sketchy controls, it's hard to recommend it over the other games in the same genre that offer you more bang for your buck (and by now, at a cheaper price point).

I have enjoyed this game a lot, but it is very difficult. I do have experience with arcade racing (previous Ridge Racer game is one of my favorites) but it seems like for Namco, fun means frustration. Seriously, I play games to relax, not to get more stress... that does not mean that I do not like challenging games, but challenging does not mean frustrating.

I will continue playing it, as a matter of fact this game is really fun, but I do not know for how long, since the AI is TOO good (sometimes it feels like it cheats) and if you do not accomplish goals, you cannot unlock new content.

To a large extent, game reviews are extremely subjective. How you feel about a game depends on what you expect in the way of gameplay, and what I dislike might be fun for you.

That said, I dislike this game. I've played all the RR games, and they've gotten better with each iteration. Great graphics, consistent (but completely fake) physics, and lots of speed. This version has lots of speed. Everything else has been replaced with lots of flashing lights and explosions. And major crashy things. So if you like lights, explosions and crashy things, you might really enjoy this game.

And I'm not putting down explosions, flashing lights and crashy things. In some games, that's what I go in looking for. In RR, I go in looking for good clean arcade racing fun, and I didn't get that with this iteration of the game. I hope that next time out of the gate (if they survive this version) they'll get back to more fun, less explosions.

And yes, I miss Reiko. There, I said it.

When you purchase an item like this, quality can be a gamble. This company takes top quality parts to start with, and continues that theme throughout. I bought this item as a gift to myself, and was very pleased. The finish is good, the look is great and the functionality and instructions are top quality. **Updated April 25th**

I have finished the game (it took about 80 hours) so here is the final review. I have also added combat tips to the end.

First of all, I love the game. The combat is awesome if you like strategy games. The game has more in common with strategy/rpgs rather than traditional JRPGs. As in any rgp you can roam inside the cities, get side quests, and explore the world map. However, the combat and the missions are very much like that of turn based strategy games. In fact, ROF is more like a strategy game under a JRPG disguise.

Although the combat looks flashy and cool, as I saidbefore, RoF is not an action oriented game. The combat is very deep and strategic. Also learning curve is steep, it takes several hours to learn all the intricacies of the combat, and I will not attempt to explain it here. (I have added some tips and tricks at the end). However, the turn system is very similar to Valkyria Chronicles, it is a mixture of turn based and real-time (while you are moving the enemy also moves and can attack you). Flanking, timing, the type of attack etc. all plays a key role in combat and makes it very satisfying. They are nice to watch too, although your eyes would be on the action gauges most of the time.

There is a tutorial that introduces every battle action but it does not tell you about the tactics. (Think of chess, you can learn the rules in half an hour but you'll have absolutely no idea about the tactics). So the game got better as I played because I began to discover some of the mechanics and the tactics not described in the tutorial. It also has some real-time elements that require timing, which keeps things interesting and gives you some more tricks to help you. (For example, you can manually evade physical attacks if you time your movement right). It takes a long time to master every trick of the combat, but it is very satisfying when you discover something new.

Leveling and customization is all about the guns not the characters. There are 3 types of weapons (handguns, machine guns, and grenades). As the characters use a weapon they get more proficient with that weapon and level up. A character's level is the sum of all 3 weapon levels. For example, a level 20 character can be level 15 handgun, level 4 machine gun, level 1 grenade. As they level up their hit points and respective gun weight limit improve. Also they gain some additional effects (5% stun chance for instance).

You can only customize your weapons. Guns have 5-6 attachment slots (magazine, grip, sights etc.) that you can upgrade with the parts you found. Also you can add extensions to all slots(e.g. adding another barrel to the barrel). However you have space and weight limits that you need to consider. Finally, you can also craft special parts from the basic materials you get from monsters. There is no other customization. There is no armor either, however characters can equip two rings some of which are protective. You can buy a lot of different dresses but they have no effect other than changing the looks of your character (this also affects cutscenes as they are done with the in-game engine).

The story is slow to start. It starts to pick up after Chapter 5 (which would be 10-20 hours into the game depending on the number of sidequests you do), but it is one of the weak points of the game. It does get interesting, but a lot of things are left unexplained even after the game is finished. Simply put, this is not a story-driven game. There are a lot of fetch quests at the beginning but at least the NPCs are quirky, and the interaction between the characters can be funny sometimes. Later on, I got more interested in the story but game only hints at what's going on and never fully explains the background or the motives of the characters.

In sum, this is not a traditional JRPG like Final Fantasy or Lost Odyssey, it is more similar to strategy games like Valkyria Chronicles. Also if you want fast paced, action oriented, quick resolution combats (e.g. Tales of Vesperia) then this is probably not the game for you. If you like turn based strategy/rpg games (Jagged Alliance, Front Mission, Valkyria Chronicles, etc) with a lot of depth then I believe you will like this game.

*** Some Combat Tips and Tricks ***

In ROF, you have access to the full combat from the beginning (opposite of Final Fantasy XIII from what I hear). However, as you play you get a better understanding of the mechanics and the tactics. In other words, the combat opens up naturally and always stays fresh. Below are some tips but I believe half of the fun is discovering them. If you feel confused, then these might help. Also the guy next to the billboard in the guild gives one new tip each chapter. Always talk to him.

-The letter next to the enemy bar indicates which one of your characters the enemy is aiming.

-The enemy won't shoot until the end of the turn (even if their aiming bar is full) unless they are aiming at the character you are moving. If they are aiming at the character you are moving, they'll shoot in real time when their aim gets full.

-During hero runs you are invincible and also you can regenerate more because the turn lasts longer (depending on the distance). However, that also means enemies will have longer time to aim at characters.

-The circular green bar around the enemy is their equipment health (weapon, armor, shield etc). You will not be able to damage their body until you create/find an opening. The green bar is not always a full circle and if that's the case, you can make a hero run (or walk around while they are aiming at somebody else) and shoot when you have the right angle to hit the body. Or if you jump during hero run you randomly hit all body parts, you might get some hits to the body even if they are shielded.

-Getting rid of the enemy parts (equipment) will give you materials for upgrades.

-Try to set up the tri-attacks in a long range. The longer the running distance, the more time to shoot (and regenerate).

-You can make a tri-attack even with 1 resonance point. This can be helpful if the distance between the characters is long. You can also use it to move one of your characters to safety if he is going to be shot as soon as you end the turn of the current character.

-Charge acceleration is very important. Try to add barrels as much as you can. Also try to shoot at the highest possible charge to activate the skills.

-Dual wielding helps a lot in the later game(after chapter 10-11). It doubles your damage and chances of activating skills even if the second weapon may reduce some of your stats.

-During a tri-attack, the enemies inside the triangle won't move, the ones on the outside will.

-If you are outnumbered stun and electro grenades can give you valuable time.

Here is my first 10 hours impression of the Game, hope that this will help you out a little. I am more or less comparing this game to FFXIII but only a few little things not the whole game.

2D/3D Visuals:

The game is full 3D with 2D as background. The visual is acceptable, the 3D environment is not to bad for towns, but its a bit bare and boring during cut-scenes, the cinema animations are up to par, but the in-game animation cut-scenes are not very eye catching. (Been playing FFXIII for a while, its visual is really not that great compare to FFXIII)

Voice Overs and music:

The Voice overs are not bad, they sounds great, the music is a mix, some of them pretty good and some of them are annoying. NPCs do talk when you interact with them, even though its thoughtful but after a while you get sick of them saying the same thing over and over.

Combat System:

This is where the game shines. Instead of sword and magic, your 3 characters are using guns, either it be hand guns or machine guns. It will take you a while to learn all the things about the combat since there are quite a lot of rules. The animation in combat is pretty good, its better than the in-game animation cut-scenes, but then since they move so fast you can't really compare them. The combat visual feels like the Matrix, where you use guns to shoot your enemy while doing acrobatic moves.

How does combat work?

Its kind of a mix of RTS and TBS (Turn base strategy). There are two types of damage, Direct damage and Scratch Damage. Direct damage is caused by Hand gun, and Scratch Damage is caused by Machine Gun. You can heal Scratch Damage, but you can't kill with Scratch damage even if your enemy's health goes to zero, you will have to apply Direct damage to kill, also you can't heal direct damage (well you could but the item that you use to heal is expensive and hard to get)

There is also Hero Gauge, which is very important, at the beginning you only have 3 of them, it expends as you go through the chapters, at chapter 3 you should have 4 and 3/4 hero gauge, this gauge is expended by finding gauge crystals, which could be found either by exploring the maps or defeating a boss. Hero Gauge is replenished by killing your enemy or performed some sort of high damage move.

Hero Gauge is used to make Hero Moves and the Triad attacks. Its also your back up health supply. When one of your character received scratch damage and it reaches 0, you will lose one hero gauge and get your health back to max, but if you ran out of Hero Gauge, you enter critical stage, which you don't want to get into, because once you are in critical stage, the damage that your characters receive will be Direct damage and if one of your character dies, its game over. Once you are game over, you can reload previous saves, or spend some money to retry the battle.

Now lets get to the juicy part of combat. A Hero Move is a move that you can use to put massive damage to your enemy, once you decide to use Hero Move you will set a path for your character, and direct them to jump and attack or to run and attack, at the same time, if you use a hero move and run between the other two characters you gain a Resonance point, which is used to make the Triad Attack, a Triad Attack will enable all your characters to shoot at your enemies and the same time running in a triangle path.

It takes a while to get use to the combat system, you should go through all the tutorial in the Arena (Which is outside of the first town).

Character Leveling:

There are three different weapon levels that you can have for each of your characters, they can learn to use Hand gun, Machine gun and thrown weapon. Your Character's actual level is the sum of the levels of these three weapon levels, so if one of your character have a lv4 with hand gun, a lv3 with Machine gun and a lv2 with hand thrown weapon, your character's actual LV is 9. A character can reach lv 100+ (one of the trophies)The Max level for a character is 300, so lv100 for each weapon type.

Weapon Customization:

There are many different parts that you can add onto your weapon to make it a better weapon, these parts can be bought from vendors or you can ask a tinkerer to make the parts from different ingredients that you collect from enemies.

Map Traveling:

The game is set in a world where humans lives in a gigantic tower that is run by machines, so your environment is basically a tower, where there are elevators and stuff to move around different levels, at the same time the map is comprised with energy hexes, to be able to explore a new area, you will need to get energy hexes to unlock the map, there are regular energy hexes, and there are colored energy hexes, which will allow you to get to different areas.

Character appearances:

There are no armors in this game, but there are different costumes that you can buy or get for your characters, its quite a large selections, from head to toe, you can find something for your character, even the eye colors (they have eye color lenses) what is so amazing is that your in-game cut scenes and cinema animations will show what you have dressed your characters in. Which is quite fun, but I do have to say these items are quite expensive.

PROS:

1. Engaging combat system

2. Fun weapon Customization

3. Great selections of Characters' paper doll system (character appearances)

4. Good Voice Acting

CONS:

1. Visuals are only acceptable, could be a lot better.

2. It could be quite a grind sometimes to get your character's level up and unlocking the map

3. It has a steep learning curve for the combat system (but in the end its worth it)

4. Save points are not available to you all the time, in the beginning you can only save at your base, but later on there are energy station that you could buy to set a remote save point.

5. At times the constant combat could make you feel a bit frustrated, especially when you are fighting in a dungeon area.

Hope this help!

PS: This is only base on 10 hours of game play, I will say that the learning curve for the combat system is about an hour to get use to. There are a lot of information that you really need to learn first though.

PPS: Because its base on 10 hours of game play, I couldn't tell you much about the story line.

Buy Resonance of Fate Now

The combat is difficult almost from the start so know what you are getting into. The game throws you into battle with little intro and the way you fight is unlike any other game out there. But, if you are patient with yourself and learn the controls, and like a challenge, you'll very likely enjoy the combat. It is worth mentioning that the combat is only partly turn-based. Once you start shooting with a character, you are fighting in real time until that character's turn has ended. I prefer a more carefully planned turn-based combat. The real time combat involves a certain amount of luck and perhaps a bit more luck than I would like.

The framerate is solid. There's normal mapping effects on everything to make things look shiny and shimmery. It is distracting rather than good looking.

The story is darker than usual for a JRPG which is fine with me. The world isnt very interactive though and you'll see the same characters roaming the streets of the towns over and over again.

I would have liked more choices about how to build the 3 characters (since this is an RPG) but there's actually little one can choose except mods on weapons. That sounds fun but you quickly realize there isnt that much complexity to modding a weapon. In fact that's my only real complaint: There's exactly 14 weapons in the game and not a lot of meaningful choices for modding them. There's different bullet types but those are expensive and basically meant for boss fights. None of the 3 characters have special abilities to make them different from each other short of some hit point differences. So basically it is a great combat engine, but there's not a whole lot of "rpg" going on. The fights occur in a variation of the same place every time: there's some destructible walls and boxes but that's all you'll see in the fighting areas over and over again.

There's some repetition and grinding along the way to level up -that's pretty standard in a JRPG but here the characters dont get new abilities along the way and the comabt for all of its fun, starts to get old.

Overall it is a solid JRPG, but more like a B+ than an A-

I tried to get into this game, but I just didn't find it to be that fun. There seems to be a pretty cool and unique little combat engine here, and I can see how it might be cool if you could get into it. For me it just wasn't worth it. Some of the reasons why I say that...

Unfortunately, the learning curve is quite steep, and the game and manual teach you very little about how to play. I felt like I had to buy the strategy guide to even figure the game out enough to determine whether or not I liked it. There should be WAY MORE in game help or at least a detailed manual.

The graphics are surprisingly poor. This is the first game I played on my PS3, and I was really disappointed about the system in general until I tried another game and realized that the graphics in resonance of fate are particularly bad and most games look much better. It's not just that the graphics are bad, it's also that the environments are just not that interesting, particularly the combat settings. Maybe this improves if you play the game longer.

There isn't any story to pull you in and keep you interested. Maybe one develops as you play more, but at the start of the game there basically is no story.

Overall, it just isn't a fun game.

Tri-Ace and Sega went all out for this game. Not only are the character models detailed and the environments lush but they've gone a LONG way from the freaky uncanny vally that the last few Tri-Ace games had. For the first time I actually like the protagonists.

The interface takes a little getting use too. And go out of your way to hit the Arena and do the practice battles there to get use to battle timing, but once you do and you experiment a little, it will come a second nature to you.

The puzzlemaps are fun to unlock and if you pay attention to attributes you can do silly things like linking together mutliple bonus in a tier and turn areas into item farms, monster exp zones, etc. It's your choice how to customize an area.

Dungeons are basically a series of battles so don't step into them unless you're equiped and flush on special ammo/grenades.

Timing and camera controls are VERY important. But the games doesn't get punishing until you get past the first few turorital chapters. Boss fights are gloriously hard and rewarding. Save often, this game lacks FF13's ultra forgiving auto-save.

The character dress up options are wonderful and I like custom looks on the characters.

For Tri-Ace actually trying something new and it working, I hope there is more RoF style games in your future.

I'm trying to learn Japanese at the moment, but I wanted to be able to still play the game. The Chinese version is exactly what you want, you'll get the Japanese voice cast, along with English, or Chinese subtitles with English menus. Considering how hard it was to find a copy, this was a good buy, plus I got the game within 2 weeks! Overall, I fully recommend this for Japanese learners who still want to play their favorite games.

This Japanese voice-over version is hard to find.

I personally think that Eng dubbed FF feels like Harry Potter, Narnia, or some

silly corny Hollywood kiddy fantasy movies. So I had to return it and bought

this version. Despite it being a rare copy, the seller priced the item within

fair market value and not only that, I received my copy in a perfect mint

condition in just 2 days.

The seller has 2 day UPS air option and provides tracking number.

This is the fastest shipping ever of all of the items I ordered on Amazon

so far. Very satisfied with the shipping and the content.

I dont' want to spend too much time writing about this product. The other two guys pretty much sums it up. I just want to say how impressed I am with the game after playing the first one. Usually when it comes to movies or games, the original is usually the best. Well in this case.. XIII-2 blows it away. The first game was great and this game is just Stellar! I am only 2 hours into the game, but the story has me in awe. I could of spent less than 60 and pick up the US version with all the bells and whistle collectors edition, but I wanted to play the game with Japanese voice actors and english dub. To me... that is the best experience. GET THIS GAME!

-For purists and those that hate dubbed English voiceovers this is the version to get. This has both Traditional Chinese and English subtitles with the original Japanese voiceovers. The only thing that is different besides the language is the names of items and characters other than that it is basically the same as the English version.

-The game is an improvement over the original in terms of the changes made to the gameplay with the best part about this game in my opinion is the overall vast exploration that can be done and finding hidden secrets in all the multitude of sidequests that the game has to offer. I have always been the type to work hard to find all that the game has to offer and FFXIII-2 has many of those types of scenarios. Monster collection, which I originally thought was a terrible addition to fill in the spot of a third character, is in fact a lot fun and very addicting. Almost every monster you fight, you have a chance of collecting them in a crystal, having them join your party. Each one has a specific role and their own unique feral attacks. Overall, it's a fantastic addition to the game. If your a fan of the series I highly recommend picking this game up, until the sequel to this game gets released.

**DLC costumes for Serah and Noel come with the game and can be downloaded for free with the available code that comes with the game.**

When Epic Mickey was released on the Wii, I cried a little… A game about classic Disney literature, games and movies all tied with a neat little bow, aka beautiful graphics and a timeless appeal of faithful recreations(does that level look like the original NES game?!??) and hidden aspects for those of us that truly love Disney (including hidden Mickeys) and know all the little references that no one else does… but I didn't own a Wii. I almost went and bought one to try it. I'm a Disney nerd and that looked like heaven to me. But I waited… it wasn't worth paying that much to try one game.

Now, the sequel is finally released and I was SO excited that I was finally going to get my time with Mickey since it was released on a stronger/better console (sorry Wii fans, just the facts). And for the most part it's what I wanted, but in other ways I'm sorely disappointed. Let's separate it into two different categories… what works and what doesn't.

Here's why I love parts of it, and why it deserves AT LEAST 3 stars:

1) Disney NerdvanaThere are references to classic materials EVERYWHERE. I own most of the old films (I'm talking the classic shorts, etc) and there are references literally everywhere. Every time I turn a corner I revel in yet another reference that I know few else are seeing the same way. Classic movies, games, stories, materials (including lunchboxes and old school Mickey Mouse Club records on turn tables) pamper the areas with nostalgia. I'm only in my thirties, but I love all of it and I've done my research as a Disney nerd… the creators made this with pure love and I'm loving how much attention to detail they put in this thing. Not only that, it looks VERY nice. The worlds are recreations of Disneyland, rides, etc. This thing takes on Disney with a passion and leaves nothing out.

2) Classic costumes and collectiblesDressing as Steamboat Willie and running around 2D sepia-toned platform levels feels so old school that I love it. Finding pins to trade and collect… let's see, when am I going back to Disneyland again??

3) Using paint and thinner is a lot of fun and I love watching things change with me painting or thinning them out. It's almost mesmerizing to watch. Fun effects, though simplistic they may be.

Here's why I can't possibly give it MORE THAN 3 stars:

1) Camera controlsthere are times I move towards a wall and the camera flips dramatically on me. Suddenly I'm running off a cliff because the camera won't turn the way I want it to. Very annoying.

2) The Power of Two?this game was meant to be played with 2 people multiple times… and that's its downfall. I'm in my thirties and can get around just fine, but my kid can't. We play games together and she loves that, usually, but this game… she gives up out of frustration. The challenges are often too simple for me to solve, but too complex for my 5 year old and too flawed for her to get the character to the area she wants it to go. So she gave up and won't play with me anymore. Now I'm playing alone but can't get everything I want since I can only do this by myself now. Many hidden challenges and puzzles (the whole reason I wanted this game) can only be solved with two actual players. Sure, Oswald can help as an AI, but there is the next issue…

3) Oswald's A.I. (Annoying Intelligence)Oswald runs in my way all the time. He jumps on my head, pushes me off cliffs and platforms, knocks puzzles around when I need them in key areas, and never quite does what I need him to do. He is supposed to help, but I find myself often smacking him out of the way to avoid him causing me more issues. And then he yells at me for it. It gets old, fast…

4) Who is this game for anyway??: This is too nicely designed for a child to appreciate to its fullest. They won't understand the intricate details of the backgrounds and hidden references. They'll also get frustrated when Mickey can't jump high enough or Oswald doesn't do what he is supposed to. However, the developers didn't take enough time to fine tune it for an experienced gamer either, thereby causing me to get frustrated when I know what I should be doing, but can't accomplish it without multiple efforts due to bad programming or design… so I'm not sure who their core audience was in this game… kids or adults… In my opinion, it doesn't meet either of our needs/wants. The fact that playing with two experienced (most likely teenage to adult) gamers needs to happen will be unlikely in a game with this many flaws for as long as needed.

5) The power of consequenceI love games with consequences. I believe that if I make a decision that is bad, that should affect me throughout the game. The developers believe this too, but they didn't think it out very well. For instance… the second town you go to, you are supposed to find a way to get to the next area. If you really don't explore a lot, you'll find the path really easily. BUT, this game is about removing and painting items in to change your surroundings and find clues and secrets… so right at the beginning of the town I find a secret alleyway through a building (SCORE! I love secrets!) so I take the passageway only to find out that this is an alternate way to my next objective… and that's a BAD thing I guess because by finding the secret pathway, I've made the town get hurt by thinning out certain walls. I didn't know I was doing a negative consequence until it was too late and someone yells at me. Now, hours later I return to the town and they charge me extra for items since I was a jerk before… though an unintentional one. For a game that encourages secrets and exploration, I shouldn't feel discouraged for finding and taking one. There was little for me to know that I was going to my next objective but in the wrong way… I've had several situations like this as well… For instance I wasn't supposed to hurt monsters in one area, so Oswald took it upon himself to attack them for me, thereby making a character mad at me. This is a major flaw in the game system and one that discourages me the most from continuing onward. I can't play things out the way I want to and feel scared of finding secrets now. I always try to play through a game the first time as a nice character if given the option… so far, with really trying to be good, I am about 50/50 on doing things the nice way…

6) A sequelThis IS a sequel. They expect you to know that, and I did… but they played it out like I knew ALL the events that occurred in the first game. Dear game developers: Thanks for releasing this on new consoles… perhaps you should have considered that for some of us, this is our first time around with Mickey since the first one was only released on the Wii?? I still feel lost on certain key plot points… It's not enough to really ruin it for me, but the events of this game rely heavily upon your knowledge of the first game. You don't have to know it all, but you won't get as much out of it as you want… like me.

That being said, is it fun? Yes actually, and if you're a hardcore nerd like myself it may be worth looking into anyway and dealing with the frustrations, but I wouldn't pay more than minimum price for this game, whatever you consider that price range to be. Just take what I said into consideration… if you can't get past the annoyances listed above, you should probably stay away from it. If you are okay and still want to give it a try with a little patience… I still gave it 3 stars. That should say something on its own. But next time, if there is one, I hope they put as much attention into the programming as they did with the designs and nostalgia.

So close to greatness… And yet still so far.

I bought this for my niece and after purchasing it for almost 60 bucks for her and reading the online reviews I got nervous. Dont be the game looks stunning in hd and the disney world is incredible the camera is clunky but it is nothing major like the reviews make it its a ton of fun and really will give you a nostaligic good feeling even the adults, I had no complaints from the kids and the adults in the room all had a blast. If your getting sick of these bs propaganda games like black ops call of duty and want something simpler for the kids or the kid at heart check it out its refreshing and old fashin fun.. mabey the developers didnt pay enough for a great review it doesnt add up a ton of work went in to it and it looks fantastic! nitpicking at its finest

The color and story is wonderful and I have more fun then the kids! I would highly recommend! Wonderful fun.

Unfortunately, this game falls way short of the creative and artistic genius that inspired and delivered the first Epic Mickey. The artwork is beautiful, but the storyline and plot are weak and unresolved at the end, unlike the first game where Mickey actually accomplishes something. Game play is confused and confusing. The co-op nature of the game is awkwardly executed and becomes annoying after a while, as Oswald is more of a vestigial organ than an actual character you can fully control, and ends up getting in the way of your game play at most times. Very poor implementation and design of a co-op game. Designer's intentions were good, but we all know where those usually lead.

Game play is also extremely short, which is typical of a product that has been rushed to market. Very sad when expectations are set so high.

There is nothing more frustrating than spending hours on a game to have to restart based on a glitch. Apparently there are several glitches in this game. We just fell prey to a glitch at Club 13 which makes it impossible to continue on or go back. Since the game auto saves, there is no second save file to go back to and we had to start over from the beginning. The game had been amusing up to that point.

Accuracy in shooters is my benchmark for controllers. I've bought many products to try and make the PS3 have a usable and accurate controller that is comfortable in my hands (I'm 6 feet tall, not that I have particularly large hands); the best combo for me is to use these and a silicone controller cover on the dualshock 3, using only my index fingers on the bumpers and triggers (no 4 finger configs). These (and I assume the legendaries) excel where I had issues with the FPS freeks because the Dualshock 3 tends to creep up into the palm of my hand and I end up pressing on the side of the FPS freeks rather than let my thumbs sit IN the cups as they were designed. With these I can crank up the sensitivity much more and my thumb settles easier and stays on the tip of the analog more consistently. I also find it easier to use them in non-shooters as well. I've also finally been able to headshot more consistently and feel that I am one large step closer to mouse-level controls on a console (it's a personal dream you may share). As a side note, I've had so many problems with controllers this gen that I'm considering going over to Xbox next gen just for the controller. I've scrapped 3 3rd party controllers including the Logitech (incredibly stiff triggers that I tried to modify and gave up on), the Dreamgear shadow (poor analogs), and the NYKO zero (trigger springs started sticking badly). Sadly, there are no decent third party controllers and this with a silicone cover seems to be the best bet.

I'm rating this a 4 and not a 5 for one simple reason: softer silicone analog covers like grip-it react less to sweat and really stick to your thumb whereas these are harder and are slightly slicker. The grip-it's don't fit well on these because they are too small.

I bought this for my 10 year old son, but he was really too old for it. My 7 year old son absolutely loves it. The other reviews I read are right that it is short. My 7 year old completed it in 2 hours. It patterns the movie. By patterns, I mean it is EXACTLY like the movie. If you are planning to see the movie, don't play the game until after. The movement tracking is superb, one of the best I've seen with Kinect games. You actually sword fight, climb, sneak, jump, play the guitar, and yes, even dance fight! Very easy so that a younger kid doesn't get frustrated with it. The only reason why it didn't get a 5 from me is the length of gameplay; however, as most moms know, a young one doesn't care, even after they beat it they'll play it over and over and over and over...

Just bought this impulsively for myself & I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to show this to my step-grandkids. I loved Puss in Boots from the movies & was hoping it would have an Antonio Banderas voice in the character & it does. The cartoon graphics & sounds are excellent. It's multiplayer so you can compete with others for the highest score (haven't done that yet). Follow Boots on his epic adventure. I just succeeded in accomplishing the "Bar of Thieves" in Santa Maria part of the map. I just stopped & the game saved my progress). Boots doesn't just sword fight, he also can kick enemies with his "Bandit Boot", move, block, deflect, dodge the barrels, pounce, balance a tightrope between buildings, shimmy along a ledge, climb, find & hide behind special objects, sneak, etc. Boots tells a very quick story while moving to another location within the town. You can also make him play guitar to charm his kitty girlfriend. It's a fairly quick moving action game and the directions appear on the screen during the game on how to dodge, pounce(jump), balance, play guitar, etc. as needed. This is excellent since I didn't even read the directions before playing. Wii Motion Controller & Nunchuck are required. It's recommended for everyone age 10 + (because of the cartoon mischief & violence). Thankfully, there's no gory stuff & when an opponent is defeated, he falls backward & Boots moves on to the next enemy. I am strongly against violent games, but for some reason, this sword fighting game doesn't seem to bother me. Anyway, I highly recommend this game to anyone who is into 3 Musketeers/Puss in Boots swashbuckling. So far, I've played 5 hours total of this game & find it fun & cute.

Update: 2/13/12: Today, I came home to find my 13 year old grandson helping my 4 year old grandson play "puss in boots" game. They were having a great time taking turns. (older one helped little one over challenging parts, like balancing the tightrope & grabbing the green gold). Neither wanted to stop playing after playing for 3 1/2 hours straight (no exaggeration). They achieved 4 places on the map. I'm not sure how much more there is but they definitely had fun with the progress. It's really a cute game. Even my granddaughters were watching while playing with toys & said it reminded them of the Puss in Boots movie.

I'm surprised so many reviewers on here are disappointed with this game. I guess we all have different expectations. So to be fair, I recommend people rent it before buying it so as not to be bummed out. Personally, I'm very happy I bought this game impulsively. I also want to get the Puss in Boots dvd when it's available but I digress...

The game plays out like as if you're watching the movie and being an actor in the movie itself -novel concept!

PROS:

Graphics are gorgeous, even better than the already top-of-the line Kinect Disneyland Adventures game... the graphics are as good as watching the movie itself!

Some new motion movements that I have not seen in other kinect games.

Uses your whole body

CONS:

We have to watch the initial opening everytime instead of being able to go straight to the game.

CONCLUSION: Highly recommended!

Fairly simple to play great story slightly different than movie but basically the same. I enjoyed working for all the trophies getting gold in all the levels can be a challange. Overall tho i highly recommend it for younger kids but still a fun game to play for adults. The PS move function works great. Also the minigames were fun n challanging.

First off the single player campaign. I'm docking a half point for the sole reason that I completed the game in 4 and a half hours. It was ridiculously short. However, there is a lot of game-play packed into those few hours. The presentation is phenomenal for a game that doesn't have 'Call of' or 'Battlefield' in the title and proves that Medal of Honor can still stand up with the big franchises.

I had the opportunity to play through the first Medal of Honor, in this console generation anyway, and also Battlefield 3 and this iteration is somewhat of a bridge between the two play styles. There are more blockbuster moments than in the original MoH like in BF 3, but the game still retains the more realistic believe-ability of the first. This is in no way close to what the real thing must be like, as the adds have stated, but it's a far cry closer than anything else I've played. The interaction between the characters, who cross over from the first game, feels sincere and well scripted.

The Frostbite 2 engine used to create the game shines in the destructible environments and every grenade explosion near the player sends dirt and debris showering across the screen. Every bullet fired chips away fragments of walls and eliminates weaker cover. During one of the driving sequences, the truck you are controlling dips into a patch of mud and it splatters the windshield until the wipers scrape it off. The attention to detail is very high. I also encountered very few bugs and glitches during my play-through. I was glad to see the level of polish that the game received.

The cons:

-As stated, the game is only just over 4 hours long.

-Driving sequences are too long. I felt like I had been behind the wheel for far too long and while it was implemented well, I was glad when they were over and I could get back to the meat of the fire-fights.

-This is just a minor gripe, but the cut-scenes were to perfectly rendered. The game is gorgeous but as good as it looked, coming off of a pre-rendered movie back into the game is a noticeable downgrade.

The Pros:

-Great story with believable characters. The narrative flows fairly well, though I am getting sick of the trend of backtracking, that is to say, everything jumps back and forth between the present in cut-scenes and the past in playable segments for most of the game.

-The game is rendered beautifully and, though the graphical difference between the cut-scenes and the game-play is jarring, the engine shines in the varied locations you travel to. From traversing through flooded streets under a heavy storm to slow-motion take downs after breaching a door, Frostbite 2 looks incredibly good.

-Variety. During my time with the game, I fought through fire-fights across the desert, jungle, ruined city, and flooded towns. The on rails turret segments were implemented well and provided a nice break in the game-play. The driving segments, while running on too long, were otherwise handled well with good controls and attention to detail. The door breaching was particularly fun and my cousin (who watched me play the game) and I grunted every time a door was opened without it. The unlockable options for using different entry methods added a lot of variety to the segments.

-The skull icon pop-up for getting a headshot. This is just a small touch that made the act of pulling off a grape shot that much more satisfying. Especially when getting the red skull for a one-shot-one-kill.

In multiplayer you are assigned a partner on your team that can refill ammo when close among other benefits like regenerating health and partner spawning. You have the option to only be able to voice chat with that partner, so no screaming 12 year olds taunting you from the other team, which is a big plus in my book. The objective based matches and emphasis on partnering with another player stands to set this apart from being just another free-for-all and though it is familiar territory if you've played most other military shooters, the action is still fun and exciting.

All in all I am satisfied with my purchase, I do wish there was more content. A longer campaign and co-op missions would have added a lot to the game. Whether or not you need another military shooter is up to you. But the touching story and tight game-play are worth the price of admission for anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Edit: After playing the Multiplayer for a good amount of time I have to dock the score another point bringing it down to a 3.5. The battles are still fun for the most part and I like a lot of the implementations that are presented like the two man fire teams and the way the weapons and characters unlock. However the multiplayer is weighed down by bugs and glitches. On more than a few occasions I fell through the world to die in the space beneath. While jumping back into the game on a partner I've been spawned inside of a wall with no way to get out. But the most offensive of these issues are the resetting of skill points that had me starting over from scratch at level 1 more than once and the 'fall back' spawn point that all too often puts you directly in the middle of a group of enemies. Spawn camping is already a prevalent problem. Also get used to resetting some of your setting when starting up a fresh game as it resets you to level 1 after quitting and restarting, meaning you have most of your options locked until you spawn for the first time in a new game and have to go through the unlocking process as your level catches suddenly up to where you left off (This could be a bug with the 'nations' segment of Origin). It's still a fun game but I'm afraid that by the time these issues are fixed, like Medal of Honor, no one will still be playing it.

Since Medal of Honor came out in 2010, some people liked the game, but many didn't. The game had a gripping campaign, average graphics, and multiplayer was unfinished and had many glitches. After two years, here comes Medal of Honor Warfighter, which has a heavy emphasis on Tier 1 special force groups and is armed with the Frostbite 2 engine.

CAMPAIGN/STORY: Many people say the campaign is between 3-5 hours, which is on normal difficulty. I would say between 7-9 hours on hard difficulty. The missions in the campaign are based on real events and are set in various parts of the globe, such as Bosnia, Dubai, Pakistan, Philippines, and Somalia to name a few. Fire-fights will take place in various types of settings, such as a jungle, a destroyed hotel, caves, a flooded town, alleys, the desert, and ruins. Players will play as characters Preacher and Stump. Preacher returns from the previous Medal of Honor. In Preacher's missions, players will see other familiar characters from the previous game, such as Dusty, Mother, and Voodoo. Preacher's missions are more covert and adventurous. Most fire-fights on his missions are mid to long-range. Stump is a new character, who is a former Recon Marine, turned SEAL. Since Stump is a part of DEVGRU aka SEAL Team 6, many of his missions involve close to mid-range fire-fights. Not to spoil it, but one of Stump's missions will be re-enactment of a very familiar SEAL mission.

GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is a cross between Battlefield 3 and COD. The controls are like COD. The gameplay is very serious and authentic. When I say serious, I mean it takes out the COD-like Hollywood effect and puts players into the boots of the Tier 1 Operatives, who performed these missions. The game does not play as easy as the previous Medal of Honor, ESPECIALLY on hard difficulty. With that being said, when playing on hard difficulty, being tactical is a MUST. Take your time! Shoot! Get cover! Repeat! Enemies move much smarter and are tactical. Some may flank you. Others may ambush you, hide behind cover or even go into prone. The WORST enemies are the ones with flashlights attached to their weapon. In other words, you WILL get cut down, if not careful. Fire-fights can be very intense and sometimes elongated because of the likeness to be suppressed by heavy enemy gunfire. The close-quarter battles are the most fun, but be careful, when engaging enemies. Also, in hard difficulty, prepare to run for cover because enemies love to toss grenades.

The AI of your team is VERY good. They are constantly firing at enemies on sight. This team knows how to put rounds down-range. Sometimes, being in cover and seeing them engage the enemy is cool. They take needed cover and will remind you to do the same. Just like the previous version, ammunition can be retrieved from any teammate.

A new feature added to the game is door breaching. Of course, this is a welcome feature for all of you Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas lovers, but this game adds more variety to the technique. Players can unlock new breaching techniques, when getting four straight headshots on enemies, upon breaching a door. The given breaching technique is the basic kick. Afterwards, players can unlock six additional techniques, such as the crowbar, door knob charge, flex linear charge, sheet charge, shotgun, and the tomahawk. It is cool seeing how each breaching technique is done. Once unlocked, any can be used, when given the opportunity to breach a door. Once a door is breached, the game goes into slo-mo.

Driving vehicles is another new addition to this game for more variety. The view is in first person, of course. Driving vehicles are very basic. Just press the R2 button to accelerate and L2 to brake. Players can also press the left or right sticks to look from side to side, while in the vehicle.

GRAPHICS/VISUALS: Between this game and the previous Medal of Honor, the graphics are a 180. Colors and textures are more polished and vivid. Weapons show realistic wear. Not to mention, the red dot sights look very authentic, as well. Thanks to the Frostbite 2 Engine, just about every surface can be manipulated by gunfire or grenades. I just love how grenade blasts sends dirt, water, and other debris flying in the air. It is a thing to see. On one driving mission, the visuals will make players feel as if they are really driving. Seeing your surroundings in the review mirror is GREAT detail. Also, on another the driving mission, players will see all kinds of dirt and mud fly onto the windshield and the windshield wipers wiping it off. Not to mention, how the vehicle shows realistic wear, based on what objects they may interact with, while on the road.

When scoring a headshot, players will see two skull icons. For example, if a player shoots an enemy in leg and then manages to shoot them in the head, the white skull icon will come up. If a player shoots an enemy in the head with just one shot, then a red skull icon will come up. Nothing feels better than seeing the red skull icon show up. It's not easy to get those, though.

MULTIPLAYER: The multiplayer lets players play as 12 types of Tier 1 operative forces across the globe. All cannot be played at first, they have to be unlocked. The coolest thing about unlocking the different special force groups is seeing what types of weapons each operative force has. Not to mention, each has their own type of offensive/defensive killstreak. Weapons can be vastly customized ala Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, including camouflage. When I first played multiplayer, I did not like it. Now, I do. It is not like playing COD. It is more tactical and more rewarding to learn how to play. Teamwork is very essential. Many times, fighting alongside team members is commonplace. In fact, it will feel as if players are playing on the campaign.

SOUND: For all of you Battlefield 3 players, who love to hear the sound of authentic gunfire echoing, authentic sounds of weapon re-loads, and the realistic sound of explosions, you'll find that on this game, as well. All of these sounds become magnified, when fighting in close-quarters. Hearing bullets lay into enemies is like music to my ears.

TIER 1/HARDCORE MODES: Upon completing the game on Hard difficulty, players will unlock these two modes. The TIER 1 mode is automatically on Hard difficulty, but there is no HUD, whatsoever, which makes gameplay increasingly difficult and realistic. On Hardcore mode, it is on Hard difficulty, but if players are killed at any portion of the game, they will have to start the level completely over.

VERDICT: Despite what some may say, this game has it all. For those returning from the previous Medal of Honor and liked it, you'll love this. For new Medal of Honor players, you'll love this game too, if you are willing to step out of your COD box.

Multiplay Game Play (30 hrs) review. ( Didn't touch Campaign).

Not your typical run N' gun game like other developers but if you want something more "real" this is the game for you. Why? In order to be good in this game you'll need, common sense, teamwork, and know how to be tactical. In my 30 hr experience I first was used to COD style games and ran around trying to be a ninja but that result only got me a Kill Death Ratio (KDR) of 1.00. Soon after I became accustomed to the MP game modes (Real Ops is the best, simliar to COD hardcode demolition mode) I began playing slower and checking my corners, ADS the corridors, grenading traffic areas, using the 2 buddy system, and overall just WAITING for the enemy to rashly charge a room without clearing it first. When I became a "smarter" player my KDR increase from 1:1 to 2-2.5:1 (hard to reach a 30-10 score).

Spawn camping isn't a big problem. Just be careful if you team spawn cause you might spawn right before your team mate dies (I've killed plenty of teams this way).

Sure some may say the maps are "linear" compared to COD and BF3, but honestly I have flanked the enemy from behind when they were busy at the front line and took out 5 of them(no one watching the rear on their part :P ).

My only gripes, should of included a medic guy (maybe I didn't lvl that far?), add vehicles, operable killstreaks (guided bombs, switchblade) can barely see the enemy through this camera everyone is thermal...

Should combine BF3 and this game for a much better experience. Vehicles and aircrafts, slower but smarter gameplay, medics, include MOH graphics and sounds, more destruction, list goes on.

Overall a great experience and my final advice is to rent it first and see if you like the game style.

Comment if you have any questions about Multiplayer game modes I tried to keep this review short. Thanks!

WARNING: This review is for those solely interested in the single-player campaign experience.

I was fairly excited for this game after playing the campaign in 2010's Medal of Honor (which I thought superior to CoD MW2). However, I am sorely disappointed after nearly beating the single-player. First, the single-player is very short. I will have beaten in it in about 6-8 hours, which is fairly quick for someone like myself, who is an average player. I can't fault Danger Close for this, though, since the development is concentrated on the multiplayer (which is the moneymaker).

Nevertheless, the story lacks any sort of cohesion and is very difficult to follow. You play as either Preacher or Stump, but it's not clear how these two men fit into the story (or why they're even fighting). The cut scenes to the men's wives don't advance the story and, frankly, seem insulting to the ability of military spouses to cope with their partners' absence. For the most part, the story is also fairly simple. I play most games on "normal" difficulty, and for most games, this means that I still die fairly frequently. Not so here. The bad guys are predictable, and you seem able to take a huge amount of damage before dying.

My biggest complaint, though (which merits its own paragraph) are the graphical glitches. I haven't perused the forums to see if I'm the only one experiencing this, but there were several instances where I would have white blocks cover up to 1/3 of my screen. That makes it very difficult to play the game, and it took away what enjoyment I was receiving.

In sum, if you're just buying this for the single-player, I would recommend holding off and buying Spec Ops: The Line (which is very good, albeit also short) or at least waiting until it comes down in price.

This game has an avg Amazon review of 3.7 out of 5...That's too low. The SP Campaign is pretty darn close to a 5 out of 5! The controls work well and there's something here for everyone. There's some sniping, a grab-the-edge-of-your-seat car chase, a cute little robot (with deadly firepower) and loads of terrorists waiting to be iced by you. Your buddies always give you extra ammo when you need it so no low ammo phobias. The steel case is a nice touch too!

I played through the Campaign 3 times (and I never do that). Not sure why some reviews are so low...If you like shooters, this is a FUN one!

This product is a must for any Battlefield fan out there, it looks awesome, it keeps your PS3 well ventilated, it's very sturdy and holds one PS3 controller which I found to be very handy as I no longer misplace them.

On the front it features a light-up claymore which is powered by batteries(supplied & pre-inserted), it has three light modes: solid, fade & flash.

It's also extremely easy to set-up, just need a Philips screwdriver to get best results.

Not much more I can say rather than it's a simple yet awesome looking case for the PS3, would recommend!

This PS3 case looks pretty cool I'll admit. For all those FPS fans (COD/Battlefield/etc), this is a great little touch to add to your PS3 slim model. This ONLY fits the PS3 slim model so those with the older fatter PS3's, too bad. It also won't fit the newer slimmer model PS3. The claymore on the side lights up which is really cool looking but doesn't really add any other functional features obviously. There is also an attachment that will allow you to hang your controller on the case as well.

My biggest gripe with this case is that it scratched parts of my PS3. The interior of the case is just plastic with no sort of lining or anything like that. Primarily the corners of my PS3 were scratched as well as part of the disc loading area were scratched. While this might not be a huge issue for most people, I would think that addition of some lining in the case would prevent this issue. You could probably buy some cheap material from a craft store to line the interior of the case but that's an added hassle IMO. Since I use an external fan and have a charging dock for my controllers, I can't really use this case at all which kinda sucks. Seeing as this is only for aesthetics, it's up to you whether it's worth the money or not. For me, I think the external fan is more useful than this so I have to pass on this item.

That said, it is cool looking and does add that extra special touch to your PS3.

I purchased this because IGN rated it very well. It looked like an excellent unit and would do exactly what I want. It stated that it uses an adapter that plugs into the PS3 to allow both the PS3 and this unit to receive power. This would allow the unit to charge your controllers while the PS3 is turned off. Perfect, no need for an extra cord.

The other feature is the 3 port USB hub. It states in the description "A USB Hub fed by the consoles power cable for: Compatibility with any power feed (from 100 to 240 Volts) from any country" This is where things get bad. That statement is totally incorrect. The USB hub is NOT powered by the consoles power cable, it is powered by plugging it into the consoles USB port. In order for you to use the extra 3 ports the console has to be on and the unit has to be plugged into one of the front USB ports. That's absolutely ridiculous. If it's already plugged into the wall, why doesn't it get the power from wall outlet to power the 3 USB ports? So if you want to plug another controller, or headset, or whatever into one of those ports in order to charge it, you have to turn the PS3 on and have it plugged into one of the front USB ports. This defeats the whole purpose! There is a note in the instruction booklet about that, but they fail to tell you that on the description or even the box.

As far as the unit functioning, it does function properly. It just doesn't function as stated in the description. The controllers are a bit of a pain to attach to the unit and the entire unit itself is a bit on the flimsy side. The plug adapter that goes onto the back of the PS3 is big as well and it caused the PS3 to stick out too far in my entertainment center. That, however, isn't the fault of the device.

I was very disappointed with this unit because it had a lot of promise. It didn't use an extra power cord to charge, it was nice looking, but the USB hub power is a deal breaker. If you're going to have it plug into a wall outlet, then that should be all that's required. This will be sent back to Amazon and I will continue to look for something else.

After reading the reviews already made for this product I wasn't expecting much from this item. One says it's amazing and the other says it's terrible. I'm gonna have to agree with the guy that said it was amazing because this charger does everything it says it does, and very well. I'm not too sure what happened to the other guy's unit but I am able to charge my controllers when my PS3 is off. I have a nyko raven controller and this charger base works with it, which I am pleased about. Also the extra three USB ports are amazing. All in all, this product deserves five stars for being a rockin charger base.

Charger works great, it was the only one I found that worked with the silver armor for the PS3 controller (Did not want to take the armor off during charging). I eventually cut the armor from around the charging port mainly because I purchased a replacement charger the BD&A power stand charger, which is definitely cooler, without the benefits of the USB hub on the rear (which is why I still have & like the T-X3 charger).
