Normally, these things are like $450 $500. So, when I seen it for $250 I jumped on it. I've own the larger competitor version by Gaem (Another great buy). However, this one has a considerably small screen. That case was huge, with a large screen...but that's not what I needed. I needed something that could fit in my backpack. Being the same size as the slim, it certainly does. Picture great, the sound without head phone is loud and only the slightest little speaker distortion. Most probably use headphones; so, that's okay. With the headphones the sound was great. Hold up to Hori's high quality, very steady and seems long lasting. The best thing is how it just slides on the system, easy on easy off. The only problem I have with it is, when playing for a few hours, my eyes started to hurt a little.

Offers a great portable solution for your PS3 Slim without adding much to its original form factor.

You can carry the system and all your essentials in one of the larger Targus model laptop bags or a backpack.

The Screen is 720p and really good, it features customization options in the menu so you can adjust it to your liking.

This product won't obviously replace your current set-up and it's a very niche product for those that need the portability and/or the small form factor.

In my case I needed both and even then I did find it a bit pricey, but the product didn't disappoint in the end.

Best portable screen I have ever owned, def worth the price tag, it works great on call of duty, nba 2K13. It's really not that small unless u play some games in split screen, I didn't even had problem play FIFA 14 on it, I'm loving this product so I m sure u will be the same.

Heres a little history for you...

I ordered a G155 in the past, and i was very disapointed both in the product quality and in the company's technical support service. That unit had issues with the screen view distance. It was impossible to adjust the view distance correctly. If you viewed it from higher than perfect alignment or lower than perfect alignment, the screen glared up like crazy on the G155, the competing PS3 portable screen unit to this. Furthermore it had water damage which the company was claiming was "fine" because "it had to do with the typhoon in japan, damaging their units" and all they offered was to send it to amazon for a refund, and they wouldnt honor a return from their actual company and said its my problem with amazon. I actually did exchange it, and i had the same issue. they don't respond to emails in a timely manner and don't seem to really care either.

Fast forward to later, i bought this hori screen. right out of the box theres no damage whatsoever, no defects, the viewing angles are great no matter if you are a bit below or a bit higher than the perfect viewing distance. the graphics reach 1080p, not so the case with the g155 which only reached 720p WITH all of the glare issues ontop of it. The G155s screen quality overall was much inferior. overall for around the same price, this is a MUCH better buy than the G155 and i wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to get the closest you can to a portable Playstation 3.

I want to add that no--this will NOT work with the PS3 super slim, or the PS3 fat. it is designed ONLY for the Playstation 3 Slim. theres no chance it will fit anything else as a mounted display, so the only downside is it is fairly proprietary. It will work with other products it just wont mount to anything. However dispite this, it is the best portable screen out there for the PS3 Slim unit in my opinion. 5 stars for Hori.

When PES 2008 came out, I was as disappointed as most people with the quality of the game. It just seemed that Seabass and team had taken a huge step backwards. Not to say that I didn't enjoy it at some level and pour a large amount of hours into playing, but it just was not good enough for a next gen platform.

This time around, I was undecided whether to jump to the FIFA franchise. I went so far as downloading the demo but it was like playing through syrup so I decided to wait for PES 2009.

I'm glad I did. This time round, the graphics are slick, the music pumped up a notch and the addition of the Be A Legend mode is completely addictive. The ball physics are much more realistic and it plays an excellent game of soccer.

Not to say that everything is rosy in the garden the commentary is still inept, the lack of licensing can be solved with an updated option file (but when oh when is Konami going to realize that North American players want to use the option files created by their European cousins!!) and I have yet to try the online mode (I mainly play Master League so no biggie but the signup was tedious).

In general, and in concert with other reviews, this is what PES 2008 should have been. The core gameplay is fantastic. Now Konami needs to build on this with game modes, presentation and licensing that can match FIFA.

Besides playing online, this game is brilliant. The gameplay is awesome and has improved alot from last years efforts. If you love watching and playing football/soccer then this is the game for you. Konami's AI improvements have made it closer to reality where now in order to score and win you have to unlock the defense, find spaces, make intelligent runs and maintain possession. Loose possession in the midfield while attacking and you'll see how the AI takes advantage of your players being out of position.

There are many different game modes and the ones most addictive are master league (ML) and Become a Legend (BAL). In the first you take a team of average players and struggle through the lower divisions, buy and sell players in order to make it to the first division and eventually dominate all. The second mode, BAL, is essentially taking control of a 17 year old player and guiding him through the football career. This new addition to PES09 is very addictive and requires real understanding of football and the different player roles.

For example, if you are an attacking midfielder you have to constantly provide passes, regain possession, create passes that cut the opponents defenses and help your team in assists and scoring.

Overall this game is highly recommended.

Playing PES series since 1998, this PES 2009 is the best soccer title ever made on planet earth, while some like to point FIFA 09 for the "photorealistic" images, gameplay and true soccer physics are inside PES 2009 pack.

On PES 2009 we have the usual and awesome gameplay now with enhanced ball physics, 3D Kinetic motion engine, good looking graphics and last but not the least the incredible A.I., A.I. very smart and giving large hours of fun for beginners or professional PES players.

Licenses aren't problem because the missing team licenses can be fixed with the great Option Files for PS3 (Edit Data file), we just need to copy and it's done, names, logos, kits all good and official.

Offline mode is endless with all leagues, Master League and now the Legends modes. ONLINE mode isn't perfect yet but we can play very good now, nothing we can compare with last year's version.

This is a true soccer game any player shouldn't miss, great and unbiased reviews about PES and FIFA can also be found on site.

I think Konami is playing catch up for online gaming with this product. In Asia (Thailand etc.) most gamers are in arcade style rooms where they meet up with their friends and play together. From my experience you go to these gaming locations and either play with your friends or ask someone to challenge you. It is a lot of fun. So most of the gaming so far that I have seen in Asia (maybe except Japan)are done offline in gaming centers with friends etc. The Winning Eleven, Pro Evolution series I believe was more geared towards this type of offline game playing. Granted Pro Evolution, Winning Eleven series game play offline is very good and much better than any FIFA soccer games past or present. Now with the popularity of the Pro Evolution series in Europe, North America, etc. And the popularity of online gaming I don't believe the Winning Eleven or Pro Evolution gaming series were ever equip to take advantage of the online gaming platform. EA Sports FIFA is ahead of Konami on the online gaming for the soccer series. I honestly believe Seabass and company tried their best to be better with the online gaming for their product but they are still coming up short. The Pro Evolution 2009 still have online lagging issues. The 2008 edition was a complete disaster to say the least. It is a shame for such a good game with better mechanics than FIFA the online aspect can't meet the basic mechanics required for smooth online play. I guess they have to keep trying until they get this right. Hopefully Seabass and company will get it right for the PES series one day. There is no way the FIFA series is better than PES series when it comes to realistic feel like game play. If they get the online right I honestly don't think anyone would be talking much about FIFA. I am sure PES would blow FIFA out of the water altogether.

I have both the Xbox 360 and PS3. I was able to download both demos via Xbox live. Both demos were quite bad, to be honest. But I thought Fifa's demo was a little bit more polished. I was quite disappointed with Pro Evo's demo. So I made up my mind not to buy either this year and keep playing my PES5.

When both games released, I played both of them. I felt that Fifa was quite similar to the demo but Pro Evo was much more polished now and I was pleasantly surprised how much more I'm enjoying it. The "Be a Legend" mode is extremely fun. Btw, I bought the PS3 version because I read that there are some glitches in the Xbox version.

Much like Turbo, the movie, was a disappointment in the movie theater, such is the life of Turbo: Super Stunt Squad.

You might have thought you'd be racing with the different characters. Instead, you'll be playing a very shallow, poor Tony Hawk impersonation of a game. In other words, skateboarding minus the skateboard.

Yes, that's right. Advancement in Turbo: SSS involves you pulling tricks, picking up scattered items, and trying to find your way around each level.

As a gamer who has 7-8 Platinum trophies and an overall level of 14, I'm so happy I rented this through GameFly so I saved my money and did not buy this game.

Your pre-teen kids very well might find enjoyment in using the various characters, but I haven't felt this much frustration in a skating game since the skating parts in the Spyro series (especially Year of the Dragon).

My advice: Save your money as this will be heading to the $15 bargain bin within a couple months, but whatever you do, do NOT pay $40 for this game.

I played Skate until smoke came out of my PS3. Skate 2 is a welcome addition. Hours upon hours of entertainment value. Improved video, and even the play control is better (if that is possible). Love the trick setup option. Tony who? This series blows away the competition.

As for the comment about the play control compared to playing with a rock....well, that guy must have a busted controller. I downloaded the demo before I purchased it and there is no "rock" feel to it. Smoother than the first one.

If you are a Skate fan and loved the 1st one, buy this! It's 100% worth it!

I used to skate some years ago, but I had to quit because of some serious injuries. I still miss a lot skating, so I wanted a skateboarding game. I was really hesitant about which one would be the best option. I played some of the Tony Hawk games and I liked them. Then I started to read some comments about Skate and Skate 2 and almost every one agreed that this series is by far better than Tony Hawk's. So I dowloaded the demos, and both (Skate and Skate 2) seemed pretty good to me. I decided to buy Skate 2 and I don't regret it. It is awesome, obvously is not the same as skating in real life, but I feel that I can fulfill my skating desire. I really love this game, it is one of the best games I have ever played.

The things I liked the most (considering that I've been playing only for some hours):

1) The realism, the graphics and the huge variety of tricks.

2) The amazing and enormous city.

3) You can set a mark wherever you want, so you can go back to that mark and retry the session or trick you wanna do.

4) It is kind of weird using the skater off the board, but it is really helpful.

5) There are skating spots everywhere! And you can do some by your own moving objetcs.

6) I like the career mode. There is no time pressing you, you can skate all you want in the city, and whenever you want advance in your career.

7) The clothes and accesories are really cool.

8) There are a lot of spots to discover in the city and more stuff to do in the game.

9) I played the Hall of Meat with a couple of friends and we had a good time. It was hilarious. I don't have to risk my bones and ligaments to do that :)

10) I wish I could skate again in real life... but as I said, I can fulfill a little bit my desire with this awesome game.

I'm a big skateboarder and thus loved how realistic the original Skate was. I can understand why people who aren't skaters have trouble with things like terminology, but since I'm an avid skater I know all of the tricks and I was able to see how realistic the controls were. Everything about Skate was fantastic: the graphics, the music, the controls, you name it and it was awesome. However, Skate 2 seems to have taken a few steps backwards in my eyes.

From the very first few seconds of playing I realized that something was graphically different in Skate 2, but not for the better. It is very hard to describe, but things almost seem more "cartoony", or in other words, I am very AWARE that I am playing a video game. Compare the way that the wheels of your board look from Skate and Skate 2, you can easily tell there is a difference in detail. Also, it appears that your facial customization has suffered a hit as well as it feels very limited. One major problem I have found is the lighting issues. In Skate marble surfaces glistened with the sun and you could see light reflecting off of buildings, it was great, but in Skate 2 the light can actually blind you to the point where you can't see 2 pushes in front of your face. Shade is also a major upset; it is difficult trying a challenge where a ledge is either too dark due to shadows or obscured by bushes. Some might consider this simply "realism", but there was no such issue in Skate and there was plenty of sun and shade to go around. The whole feel of the city seems to have changed too. In Skate it seemed like nearly everything in the game could be seen around a town in real life, but Skate 2 puts out some spots and parks that seem like they are out of some weird painting or "create-a-park" gone awry. I miss the realism.

Next comes the challenges, boy do I hope you have a full head of hair so you don't look so bad after pulling a lot of it out. Some of the challenges seem impossible the first time you come across them, and may remain that way a day or two later. Games of S.K.A.T.E. with pros can take well over 10 minutes because the AI will simply not miss a single trick, which can get extremely aggravating to say the least. To be fair not all of the challenges will having you throwing your controller around, but even being good at Skate I've had my fair share of turning the PS3 off and simply walking away.

The new tricks this time around are things like foot plants, no complies, inverts, etc. While none of them are really necessary or add much to the game, they can be a lot of fun to pull off. Unfortunately, transition skating and lip tricks still suffer from control issues. You will frequently find yourself flying out a bowl you were trying to get speed in or going into a grind accidently because you went too high and hit the coping. Probably the biggest addition is the ability to get off your board and walk around, but I have no idea who would have actually approved of such clunky controls. Off your board the character moves slowly, has to turn and face the direction you want them to move in, and has the steering capabilities of a semi truck with blown out tires. Honestly the first Tony Hawk game where you could get off your board had the controls down better, and that was something like 5 years ago.

The filming system has changed around a bit and it took me awhile to get used to it, but overall it is a bit more detailed than in the original Skate. You can now choose what type of camera you want when filming, such as a tripod or having the traditional "following" camera. It takes some getting used to but offers some great results. Also, security has undergone a major change, for the worse. In Skate you had 1, maybe 2 security guards on you some of the time. However, in Skate 2 having 2 or 3 security guards is the norm, with up to 5 or even 6 being possible. It isn't much fun skating a plaza when you get punched off of your board every few seconds. Oh and Big Black is not very reliable when it comes to taking these guys down, just a heads up.

As a whole the game is not anywhere close to as satisfying and exciting as the original Skate and I was expecting it to be at least equal. The controls are the same with the exception of new tricks and getting off the board (which is nothing short of awful) and even moving around objects was less fun than it was made out to be because your rail or ramp can get knocked 10 feet away if you run into it wrong. Something about the graphics still seems off and almost a few years into the past, and the lighting issues can make all of the things you are trying to skate turn pitch black. I'd be lying if I said I loved this game as much as the original, but if you loved Skate you should at least give this one a try.

UPDATE:

After playing Skate 2 exclusively for a few weeks I feel that I have a good experience of the game as a whole and stand by everything I wrote in the review. Also, after playing Skate 2 for so long I popped the original Skate back into my PS3 for 15 minutes and came to the realization that other than the new camera system Skate 2 is INFERIOR to Skate in every single way. I only hope there is a Skate 3 so they can get this back on track.

Skate re-defined a genre of games in dire need of re-definition. While the most popular series out there was busy running out of good ideas, EA put out a game that ramped up the realism, with one of the most genius control schemes I've ever seen in a game, and somehow made skating for its own sake fun in the context of a video game something that no one else has ever really been able to do.

Skate 2 is a refinement of the first game. It's laid out better, there are more tricks, more things to do... pretty much everything you'd expect a sequel to that sort of game to be. The few mistakes that were made the first time around have largely been corrected.

So what we have right now in Skate 2 is the best skateboarding game on the market. Possibly ever. It's the little things that make it great. The control scheme and physics in particular are great. It's a game that's easy to pick up and have fun with, but very difficult to master. You don't get a lot of help with the physics. Gravity is your enemy. But the controls are smooth, and with practice, you won't really have much of a problem doing what you want, when you want to do it. It's all completely intuitive, with buttons set up to control every limb of your skater, all of which typically do what you want when you want them to do it, provided your own skill level is up to the tasks. There are a lot of really fun spots to skate. What's really impressive about it is that it's just fun to play, whether you're playing it with any purpose (e.g. career mode challenges) or not. Almost everything is set up to be tricked off of a wise design choice, even if it kind of cuts into the realism a bit although now you go about doing so is not always immediately obvious. The city itself feels huge, especially at first, but you'll get a good feel for where you're going after spending a few hours playing.

It's not perfect, though. Most new players will find a lot of the career mode challenges to be very, very difficult, especially when they get really technical. This will be frustrating to a lot of players who just want to skate around, since a lot of things aren't unlocked in free skate until you complete certain goals in the career mode. Luckily, EA has remedied this situation a bit by providing spots unlocked in career mode as DLC, but that just feels like a sort of cheap way to get it, doesn't it? Also, security guards are not a fun addition to the genre. Really, they're not. I really, really hope Skate 3 cuts that element out.

Multiplayer is also fun. My main gripe is that matchups often end up really uneven, and you'll either end up playing against a bunch of people who are much better than you, or completely destroying everyone else in the match. Also, perhaps the instructions need to be a bit clearer, because when I play Hall of Meat multiplayer, there's always some dork who has no idea what he's doing and goes for scoring. Still, when you end up in a good game, you're going to have a lot of fun, and that's really what matters. It's just a shame it's sometimes so difficult to find a good game. I also feel like the game should give players an extra 10 seconds to respond to opponents' runs. The ability to give props or call their run weak or whatever is a nice touch, but it'd be nice to not have to do it while the run is in progress. It's a good idea that I feel could be implemented a bit better.

But at the end of the day, every time I play this game, I find something new to skate and end up having fun doing that for its own sake, often for a couple hours at a time. And really, I feel like that should be the ultimate goal of this kind of game.

Want Skate 2 Discount?

I've been waiting for Skate 2 to come out for a while. It seemed like a great game, especially after the original Skate's success. I got the demo as soon as it came out, and I purchased the game as soon as I could. Honestly, though, it's all hype.

Sure, the graphics are great, the tricks are fun, and multiplayer is a blast... but it lacks something. It lacks fun. The city is vast but a few spots are fun. Career will freeze on you very frequently, almost to the point where it is unplayable. The activities are extremely frustrating and will have you throwing your controller across the room. There's been too many times when I've simply turned off my PS3 and walked away.

Coming from Electronic Arts, the poor testing and rushed release were to be expected, but not like this. I really wish I hadn't purchased this game.

When I first heard about Catherine i thought it was just a really really weird Japanese game with some sexy boxart. And I wasn't far off, but as time went on many gaming sites started talking about the game and showing that it was more then just a blond bombshell with some boobs. Catherine turned out to be one of the single most interesting and different games I have played this year, if not this decade.

Catherine is very hard to sum up, and its going to sound really weird. And it is, but trust me for its weirdness Catherine is not to be missed.

Story

The game revolves around a guy named Vincent, he's 32 and has a girlfriend named Kathrine (with a K). He likes life the way it is, just coasting along. However Katherine wants to get married and start a new life with Vincent. Soon after Vincent starts having terrible nightmares, and cant get much sleep. Not long after all of this starts Vincent wakes up next to Catherine (with a C) a smoking hot blond girl. He cant remember what happened but he knows hes in deep trouble.

That is the plot of Catherine (the game), its adult, deep, engaging, and fun to watch. You will be invested in many characters and their problems and it's your choice of how to handle them.

The story is also very good, there are many times where my jaw dropped and I didn't pick up for a good ten minutes.

Gameplay

Catherine has 2 main game play types, when Vincent is in the bar and when he is in his dreams. The nightmares make up the core game play, with Vincent having to puzzle platform his way up towers of blocks while said tower crumbles beneath him. The mechanics are deep and fun and you always feel a sigh of relief when you make it to safety.

After so many stages you must also race against bosses who will effect the tower in many ways. Each boss is very unique and some are downright scary.

Now this is something you must keep in mind. Catherine is HARD. And I mean HARD. I played in Normal and this gave me an infinite "undo" command, and still I had to bump down to easy. Even on Easy I died....a lot. Now while this game is hard it is almost never unfair, and while I screamed some F bombs towards the end it made it all the more satisfying to make it to the top and to get Vincent to the next story point.

Once you wake Vincent begins the second game play mode, and this is where the story is told. You will follow Vincent as he goes on dates with Katherine, and goes to the bar with his buddies. While you can do much when Vincent is speaking in cut scenes you do get more control in the bar. Once giving control you can get up and talk to other people in the bar. You will also receive texts usually from Katherine and Catherine and you chose how to respond. Depending on what you say to people, your texts, and special decisions made in the nightmares you will alter a karma slider. Be a good guy or bad, its up to you.

You may even get a naughty pic of Catherine form time to time, which require you to go to the bathroom to view.

In the bar you can also talk to people, and drink. Talking to people will advance time a bit and as the night goes on patrons will leave and new ones may enter. Many patrons have personal problems you can hear about, and how you respond to them may determine if you see them again. You have 3 levels of intoxication and the higher it is the faster you will move in that nights nightmare sequence

Presentation

Catherine is a very unique looking game, the cut scenes are told in an animated anime style and game play is a cell shaded anime style. The soundtrack for the game works great, and will have your heart pumping during the nightmares.

Replay Value and Game Modes

Now its not hard to see some obvious replay value, Catherine or Katherine? Good or Bad? Those are 4 endings right there. However without giving anything away towards the end of the game you are given a new set of options, between Chaos and Peace. These choices wont effect your progress on Catherine or Katherine or your Good or Bad slider, and bumps the total endings to EIGHT.

If that wasn't enough there are special game modes, the tower of Babel and Challenge mountain game types. The Challenge mountain lets you and a friend Co-op solve the games puzzles. And the tower of Babel lets you take on even more challenging towers alone or with a friend.

This gives Catherine immense replay value.

Closing Comments

This game is weird, I know. But it's also great. It's one of the games that has real adult material, and that isn't afraid of its weirdness. The plot has such good twists and turns there where times I had to pause, and put down the controller to take in what just happened.

This is also a game that breaks the mold. Its unique, its artsy, and its pushing the video game industry further. I encourage you to check out this title and its games like this that will help the industry grow.

I have always been a fan of puzzle games. So whan I saw this one I had to try it out. The game does center itself around some mature themes. Guy dates girl, guy drinks a lot one night, guy wakes up next to a different girl. Only problem is there is a witch about cursing men who are not faithful. So every night he wakes up in a nightmare that when you die in the dream...you die for real. The difficulties vary. From easy if you wanna enjoy the story, but still wanna test your brain, to hard. To where you will be cursing at the screen due to the unforgiving levels. All in all the game is great. If you love a good puzzle game, and you don't get frustrated easily, give this one a go!

I bought it for my boyfriend, but I LOVE the storyline. It is very good and puzzling to figure out the building blocks. But I like how you can choose certain options like to answer phone calls, respond to texts, and what choices you can make in Vincent's life. This game is really fun and sort of like a movie. Not much "action" or game play but it really gets you thinking.

Catherine is a unique game in how the game presents it self to the player. You start out at a bar with friends. SHortly after going home you are thrown into the world of craziness. Object is to make it to the top of the blocks. Easier said than done but it's possible. Game replay value is a 7 out 10. I enjoyed my time.

The Devil May Cry franchise has long been one of my favorites. The games hold a special place in my heart and memory, they were the most cathartic way to get rid of frustration and anger in my angst-filled teen years. Now even as an adult I enjoy popping in one of the originals and battling demons for an hour or two with the wise-cracking Dante. I was in love with the story, riddled with holes as it was, and helplessly in love with Dante.

Upon hearing that the current DMC universe was being abandoned you could not find anyone else more upset about it than I was. I was angry and felt betrayed by Capcom, who were cutting short a story I had spent years in. The new Dante character design was bad, his attitude was at best childish. Stubborn as I am, months turned into a year and I began to realize that change was indeed needed. Ninja Theory seemed to be at least listening to what the fans were saying and with the release of the first player footage my mind began to slowly turn from general hatred of the game to feeling that maybe it would not be so bad.

So, last Friday I decided to just march into Gamestop and pick it up despite my reluctance. After being somewhat shocked that I, a human of the female variety, was buying DmC for myself (he even asked), the Gamestop manager told me that it would be worth it. I got it home, loaded it up, and never looked back.

It has only been one weekend and I have managed to complete it, but this should only be a testament to how amazingly fun this game is. I love the combat, the game levels are works of art in and of themselves, and the story appears to be coherent enough to follow. I could not have asked for a better re-boot. If it had to be done, which it did, Capcom was right to do it this way.

The manager at Gamestop was right when he told me it is no different than the old one. It is updated for modern times but still holds true to the vision that the original had. Though I have to admit that I went into the game expecting something completely different, I was happily surprised to see how much of it was still the same. It is a complete re-do, the slate is wiped clean, and I think that lends to it a certain amount of success. They could have taken it to a whole new direction and done terribly, but sticking with what they know how to do really helped maintain the integrity of the franchise.

Characterization is really great this time around. The dev team really used the most of this generation's console power to use body language and facial expression in order to tell just as much story in a characters appearance as in their dialogue. If a character is barely keeping insanity under the surface, you can tell. If a character is hurt, sad, happy, pensive or just plain bored it can be read in the facial expressions. This makes the new Dante and Vergil duo have depth to them that the originals never really could have achieved. Sure, we love them in DMC3, but Capcom painted themselves into a corner, giving neither of them a real personality. It is safe to say they fixed that issue this time around.

Now that I have said all of that, there are a couple of things that did not do as well:

First off, while the story arc appears to be less hole-filled than the original, there are still points in the plot that had me thinking that either something was missing or they did not explain thoroughly enough. It did not detract from game-play, I knew what was happening and why Dante was doing something, the motivation for the story never really slowed down. It does leave a lot of questions unanswered but the last scene is essentially a guarantee for a sequel. All-in all as far as storytelling goes, it is not the best, but point to a DMC that has good storytelling in the first place. I feel that it is excusable because the designers were tasked with taking a series with a story and a fan base, and making it completely new while at the same time having to make a game that newcomers would enjoy. Perhaps if they were not so overburdened in that area the plot would have gone over better.

Second, the camera. Good lord the camera.

It was not so incredibly bad that I noticed it all the time. But particular enemies, specifically ones that can teleport around the battlefield, made it frustrating. There is no lock-on feature, the game automatically does that for you based on whatever Dante is facing. But, the camera will always pan around to where an enemy is located. So you can imagine that if your one enemy is disappearing and reappearing all over the place the camera gets a bit frustrating. This and a couple of times I just wanted to run away from enemies and would manually pan the camera around only to have it revert back to looking toward the enemies. This caused me to fall off a cliff into the abyss a couple of times. Luckily if that happens you just come right back with some of your health bar missing. Again, this really didn't hurt game play too much. Only after I noticed it the first time did I really start paying attention to it.

Neither of these things really upset me enough to give it a 4 star. This is a 5 star game.

Altogether this game was immense fun and I can see myself playing it just as much as I have the others. There is plenty of room in the maps to get yourself a bit lost while looking for souls to free or keys to secret mission doors. There are, in usual Devil May Cry fashion, multiple difficulty settings and rewards for beating them. Many demon slayings and a couple of interesting plot-twists later I have found a new favorite game.

DmC is the reboot of the Devil May Cry series by Ninja Theory. It is intended to direct a franchise in a new direction and gain a broader audience. I had no cons about the ideas behind the revitalizing of the series & its mythos, but merely with the execution of the ideas.

PRESENTATION: Very Good. The artistic story telling is fantastic in the game, as well as the in game text to amplify some action scenes. Menu has framerate issues but well laid out and simple to see.

GRAPHICS: Good. Environment immerses the player into it and framerate is fluid to follow the action. The game overuses the orange / red color palette as well as the green / blue one which tends to saturate the world you are in after a couple of hours into the game.

SOUND: Very Good. The soundtrack in the game is great and it delivers the theme of the game quite nicely. The voice acting is well done too, you can tell the brothers apart when they speak but also sense their relation...Mundus also delivered an impact performance. Sound effects are also very good but at times overwhelmed by the soundtrack.

GAMEPLAY: Good. Heavily hindered by the level design, the gameplay mechanics are seamless, very well rounded and easy to implement. The amount of combos stretches as far as your imagination can, switching between Devil & Angel weapons is fast and fluid and the controls are quick and responsive. The pacing of the game is questionable for an action game, specially for one with such a deep combo system. The camera is good and user controlled for the most part and even pauses enemies from attacking you if they are off screen. The Devil Trigger suspends enemies into the air this time around while you inflict damage. As usual some health regenerates and there is increased damage.

LEVEL DESIGN: Poor. This is where all the bad spots of the game came back to. The traversal through the game is mainly compromised by jumping. EVERYWHERE. It became tedious after seeing how much it consisted to go through a level, and it broke the pacing of the game considerably, since some areas there was just too much of it. Overall Limbo is designed somewhere out of the Deconstructivism movement, where things are broken parts of themselves and the pieces make up an ugly whole. The best level design for me was the Disco level, and something I'd revisit, weird boss and all. The environments turn dull towards the end, slowing the adventure down. One of the Boss fights implements the platforming quite well, and that probably was as far as it should have been taken to make up the level design.

STORY: Good. The new direction that they deviated the original storyline from was well implemented. Dante and Vergil being sons of a Demon & Angel, some type of anomaly that can extinguish evil is a believable storyline to start from. The explaining of their origin was engaging as well. The middle and ends of the plotline of the game however, are not.

BEASTIARY: Very Poor. The enemies in DmC are not much for variety. Apparently anywhere you go in Limbo the demons are pretty much the same. They have different types of the same enemies, where ones are vulnerable to either Angel or Demon weapons. Overall you will face upgraded versions of the same enemies throughout the game. One in particular should have been a boss because he was really cool to face, and his upgraded versions, since the 5 & a half boss fights in the 20 level game are deficient for an action game. They are mostly large, blob like figures instead of the fearsome creatures prevalent in games of this genre. They are quite the mixed bag & the fights consist of yes heavy PLATFORMING.

DIFFICULTY: Easy. Accurate. I played the game on the Nephilim ( Hard ) difficulty and I barely died, ever. The game difficulty seems just about right so anyone can just pick this up and kick ass. Be aware that restarting a checkpoint counts as a death in the game ( what? ) and the autosave feature will NOT hold on to your items if you've used them and then died ( or restarted ).

LASTING APPEAL:

Players of the previous games will most likely not favor this game too much. The story mode may be good for one play through, but the excessive platforming may anger God of War veterans as well as the lack of boss fights. Also being a short adventure ( +/8 hours ) and the lack of the Vergil DLC at launch to extend it, sadly is not enough to warrant a full retail purchase ( like I did ). I'd recommend holding off for God of War Ascension instead.

I rate it a 7.5 / 10.0

In October of 2001 the original Devil May Cry hit store shelves. At the time the game changed the way action games were designed and played. It was stylish and filled to the brim with a lot of intense set pieces and graphical effects. It was a truly groundbreaking game. Since then Devil May Cry has been on a roller coaster. The second game was not well received, while the third one hit just as high. The fourth game was met with some mixed reception. Ever since then Devil May Cry has been on a hiatus. When the new DmC was announced fans were in for a shock. The first was that it was going to be a reboot. The second was that it was going to be an entirely different game all together. If you're a hardcore fan of the original Devil May Cry games this is going to take a moment to get adjusted to. The thing is, however, from a gameplay standpoint DmC is quite fun. From a narrative standpoint, not so much.

Devil May Cry has never been much for story. Even the previous games aren't much for story. They were action games filled with cheesy one-liners and a protagonist with a cocky attitude. The original Dante was a cool guy, but more of a caricature than an actual character. Still a fun character, but not a well fleshed out or developed one. Which is partially why people seemed to be drawn to him. He was just good fun. The new Dante isn't exactly like that. It will take a moment to really get used to him. Where as the old Dante was a cocky guy that was half human and half demon, this Dante is a foul mouthed, sex crazed, booze drinking... kid. He also happens to be half demon and half angel. This makes him and his brother Vergil a Nephilim. Which means they'll be able to take down corporate Kingpin Mundus. It's not nearly as absurd as it sounds. The story actually goes somewhere for a bit, although it's hard to ignore that the game seems to try way too hard to be gritty and "mature." The themes it tackles are a lot bigger than the previous games, for sure. Aside from some sexual themes and alcohol, the game isn't afraid to talk about corporate greed or economic issues. Even going so far as to provide a pretty big structure for the world it takes place in.

The game tries to provide some depth to the characters. Dante and Vergil are built with tragic backstories. The game actually tries to flesh them out quite a bit. They certainly come off as interesting characters. Vergil more so than Dante, however. Dante comes off as that guy you probably knew in high school who was trying to be cool and rebellious. He begins to grow from that, but upon first meeting him he comes across more like a brooding jerk than as someone you want to spend the next ten or so hours with. Vergil by comparison, is actually more interesting and easier to deal with.

There are times when the story tries so hard for the mature stuff that it sort of comes off as a lot more childish than it should. When Dante swears it almost comes across like a middle school kid that just learned what curse words are for the first time. The villains are somewhat similar in this regard. It's as though the developers seem to think that if you drop enough f-bombs, flash enough exotic skin and show enough gross and disgusting fluids that this will make the game instantly mature. Those "mature" themes and moments often get ruined by some of the badly written dialog (from the villains, especially) and some of the over-the-top cutscenes. It adds some shock value and great eye candy but it more often than not undermines the characters it's trying to build and the story it's trying to tell. A story, mind you, that the developers clearly want you to take more seriously than the 2001 release just based on the themes and economic turmoil it's trying to present.

It isn't that this stuff is there, it's actually that DmC tries too hard with it. Simply put the story isn't well written, but unlike the 2001 game it is still begging you to take it seriously. Meaning it's not intentionally poorly written for the sake of cheesiness. It can be given credit for trying to reach a little higher, but it's hard not to notice that it comes across like a teenager trying to show the world he's a not a kid anymore. DmC wants to be seen as a "grown up." And it goes just a little too hard in the gritty direction to do it by trying to stuff in as much "adult" content as it can muster to drive the point home that this is supposed to be gritty and serious fare. It's more about the context that this stuff is put in than anything. I'm sure several won't mind this sort of thing, but by now I don't think gaming needs to try so hard to prove it's grown up and mature. At least not like this.

The biggest strength of DmC is that the combat and gameplay is really fluid. The missions themselves are pretty straightforward. The gameplay takes place in a parallel world called Limbo. Each level is pretty linear. You'll always know where to go no matter what. You can explore quite a bit, though. There are usually hidden items and secret missions off the beaten path and lost souls to find. You'll find yourself having to replay levels to find it all. After each mission you're ranked in style points, completion, time, items used and deaths. It's tempting to play through some levels to get the SSS rating.

The combat is pretty fluid, though. It's actually a lot of hack and slash fun because of how fluid it can be. It does take a moment to get used to. Dante can go between his demon and angel halves when fighting. The angel weapons tend to be more agile while the demon weapons have more brute strength. What works about the system is that you can switch weapons in midstream. This makes for some fascinating combos and juggles. And Dante still has his guns and his sword that he can utilize as well. There's a lot of variety in the combat. Dante also has a grapple to him. He can use it to pull platforms or enemies to him. This all goes into making a pretty cool and complex system.

The only big problem with it is that there is no way for Dante to lock on. And sometimes in the throws of combat Dante targets and shoots or grapples the wrong enemy. It can disrupt the flow of combat at times. Likewise, the other problem isn't as big. While fighting normal enemies is fun, the boss fights are strangely no where near as fun. Some are creative in design but at some point they just fall into predictable patterns. For as much fun as the combat can be it's pretty stale when a boss battle starts.

The combat system is, for the most part, pretty easy to learn. You'll also slowly ease into much of it. You'll be able to purchase and upgrade new abilities as you progress and you'll always be able to train with them with a test dummy that never actually dies. It's a great way to practice.

DmC isn't an easy game, though. It's got quite a few difficulty levels to choose from and they actually play differently from one another. Mastering the game on one difficulty won't prepare you for the next. We're talking more than just enemies hitting harder or you taking more damage. Stronger enemies will appear in place of the standard enemies. Some of this stuff amounts to some decent replay value. The levels are well designed enough that it's alright to play through them. It's a lot of fun to try to master various combos and you can always try tweaking the difficulty for a bigger challenge. All this will easily make the story more passable.

On the other hand, the game is hit or miss with its presentation. It crunches a lot of pixels but the art style in and of itself takes time to get used to. In one regard the game pushes for this gritty, serious look that so many games have been gunning for lately. This is especially true in the cutscenes. The missions, however, where you're in Limbo are actually quite vibrant and colorful, yet they also have a madhouse and insanity like feel to them. You'll run down corridors that close in on you and you'll see writing on the walls or floor like "Found You" or "Kill Dante" etc.. It's elaborate and certainly helps separate the two parallel worlds. Once you get used to the style of the game it's easy to settle in. It's overall a good looking game.

It's hard not to compare it to the 2001 game. Back then the original Devil May Cry was groundbreaking. This one... not so much. There are still shades of the original Devil May Cry here. You can still do plenty of juggling and stylish moves. Even some of the over-the-top nature of the cutscenes show that the developers were inspired by the original in some way.

In the end, however, DmC needs to be able to stand on its own. As such the game is pretty fun to play but beyond that there isn't much to it. It seems to be reaching higher than the 2001 release, but it's undermined by how hard it tries to be taken seriously. It's not a terrible game, but it's certainly not as rewarding as it could be either.

I did not like the direction this franchise took with this game. I did not even play halfway through it before trading this one in. Not impressed at all.

Want DMC: Devil May Cry Discount?

First off I come from DMC (old) I've been a fan since DMC1 launched back than and been with the series since. Even went off to buy Bayonetta since they shared similarities. Anyways don't come here expecting this to be a continuation to the DMC we all have come to love. It's a REBOOT, a reboot technically means it's a new game of something old. Take for example the new Tomb Raider game or Hitman Absolution. This Dante starts out immature not caring of life around him just like the DMC3 dante but in the end makes a big turn around.

Story: I personally feel this game to be somewhat of a prequel to DMC3. There's a lot of interaction between the brothers in this game. And in the end I believe is the reason vergil despises his brother dante in the classics. Now the game revolves around propaganda and a group of revolties. Very similar to the antics of V of V for Vendetta. Mundus makes an appearance as once again the antagonist of the game. They even gave him the 3 eyes just like his DMC1 counterpart as a reference. If you played DMC1 than you know Mundu's wants to rule the world and our hero has to stop him, but it's more than that. All this little things really help build up the story till the very end. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll leave it at that.

Gameplay: Awesome, Very smooth transitions from the sword swings. And for a game that supposedly only runs at 30fps I didn't see a single frame drop during combat. You only get around 7 weapons, 3 guns, 2 angel, 2 demon weapons which is a downer for us who like to have more in our arsenal. If you are expecting dante to give us a little exhibition like he did in DMC3 when he acquires new gear than think again. Now for the DT (Devil Trigger) it's done by pressing both analog sticks when you acquire it, and sadly it's not very good. You do more damage, are faster, get white hair and a vibrant red coat. To me it's not as cool as the other DMCs but again this is a reboot so it's expected.

Sound: For the most part it's pretty much what you would expect. Voice acting is top notch, music is metal and screamo. It's alright imo.

Graphics: Absolutely beautiful, the game takes place in Limbo and the human world. The human world is pretty dull with natural colors, but Limo is amazing. It has very bright oranges and blues as you see in the cover art. It just looks nice.

Verdict: it's a must have title for any action lover. It took me two days to beat it, but only because I couldnt put it down. Still playing it at this moment trying to max out my health, dt and arsenal, I really recommend you buy the DLC for this game (Vergil's Downfall) It's 8.99$ on the PSN store. I'm currently doing a playthrough of the DLC which can be found here http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPBq81xAJkBKNb9vqltJziDS5N-tbI4Ke

This compares two controllers from the same company. Both are rather similar and are made to be closer to the Xbox 360 controller, I feel. The mini Blue controller is RF and thus cannot turn on the PS3. It can turn off the PS3 though, since that is done from an on screen menu. It has a dedicated RF dongle, feels well built and comfortable, and illuminates well. The controller is about 30% smaller than a typical PS3 controller by comparison. This is roughly 50% smaller than an Xbox 360 controller. Due to this, it is not as comfortable as the 360 controller. But, I feel it is more comfortable than the standard PS3 controller.

This controller was purchased for a five year old. The dual shock controllers are too large for a child's hands and do not allow them to reach all the buttons without changing hand position constantly. I have noticed that with this controller she is finally able to press buttons in fast combinations. This allows for less frustration and the faster response is aiding in the development of small motor skills. Game enjoyment has increased as well. She loves the fact that this controller has back lit buttons (something worth taunting me on as mine does not). For someone that hasn't memorized the controller layout, this is a positive when playing a game with minimal lighting. The rumble seems to work just fine. I have noticed no response lag when gaming. I don't know why the D-Pad and left joystick were swapped, but the controller's primary user doesn't seem to mind. The internal battery charges through USB and cannot be accessed, similar to the Sony controllers (and a plus to me).

As with all third party accessories, not all functions are available with this controller. I didn't ding the rating for them, but you wont be able to check the battery charge level through the PS3, or turn the controller off using the onscreen menu. That said, the controller does turn off on its own after a few minutes of non-use, which is a good approach for a child. the battery has lasted for a number of hour or two gaming sessions and hasn't required a charge since the initial charge three weeks ago. I don't intend to allow this to be used for marathon gaming sessions, so it is good for us.

After playing the 360 for years and loving the controller, I needed a PS3 controller with a similar layout. I first tried the Pro EX Controller for PS3 but couldn't deal with the huge dead zones in the sticks. I went for this controller instead.

I was a little worried about the size of the controller being too small to be comfortable. I have average-sized hands, and before I ordered this, I held a standard 360 controller in my hand. It felt great, and I couldn't imagine a smaller version feeling better. I decided to take the chance anyway, and I ordered the controller.

Let me tell you, this controller feels and looks great. My hands are just as comfortable with this Mini Pro Elite as they are with a regular 360 controller. Because it is smaller, I feel that I can access all of the buttons faster because they are in closer range. I don't detect any dead zones in the sticks, the buttons and vibrations feel great, and the battery seems to last a very long time. The battery life may be the most impressive feature on this controller.

You charge the controller with the standard USB cable you would use to charge any other PS3 controller, and you can charge while playing. This will take up two USB slots, however, as you need to keep the wireless plug-in, well, plugged in.

There is a button on the back of the controller that will light up the face buttons and the bumpers (well, L1 and R1, I suppose). It is a nice feature, albeit one that I do not use because I'm familiar with the buttons and would rather save the battery life.

This is a wireless controller, not a bluetooth one, so it will not power on your PS3, nor will it show remaining battery life (your controller will instead start blinking when you're running low). It can still access the menu to change controller settings and turn off the controller/console though.

Now, for the 'BUT..'

At least one other reviewer mentioned a problem with the controller only wanting to move in one direction after a few weeks. It is as if your analog stick is stuck going in one direction. Mine only wants to move to the right, and this of course makes the controller useless. It seems that some of the controllers are defective and will develop this bug, so be warned you may have to return/exchange it like I do. In this case, I suggest you buy from Amazon directly. They are sending me a replacement with One-day Shipping, and allowing me a month to return the defective controller all at no cost to me! What a great returns policy. This is why I will continue to buy from Amazon above other retailers.

Overall, I really love this controller, and it would have easily gotten 5 stars from me if not for the potential bug some users may experience. If you're on the fence about trying it though, GET IT! It is a great little controller and more comfortable than you'd think.

SUMMARY

Pros:

-long battery life

-comfortable!

-good sticks, no dead zone

-one of the best 360-style PS3 controller that I've found

Cons:

-Potential controller-ruining bug where analog will get 'stuck' in one direction

*EDIT*

Unfortunately, my replacement controller has developed the same bug that locks the left analog stick in one direction. How.. annoying. I can't keep my rating at 4 stars for this. It pains me to say that I'll have to find another controller.

This controller had so much going for it, but in the end it just isn't worth the risk.

Was looking for a replacement PS3 controller and prefer the xbox 360 design. The min pro looked like a perfect fit. When it arrived, the construction appeared sturdy but this is when things went downhill. Started charging the controller and was looking forward to using it. After three hours, I noticed it was still charging. I thought at this point I would at least use it on a partial charge. When I tried to turn on the controller nothing happens. I leave the controller on overnight and still nothing. It works fine when powered by usb but nothing without it. In other words, it does not operate as a WIRELESS controller.

I am rating this controller a disappointing piece of trash as I wanted a wireless controller and the product did not work as promised. It is not worth the time to send back to amazon but at least I can write this review to warn others to look elsewhere. I guess you get what you pay for.

Full Auto 2 Battlelines for the PS3 provides fantastic racing / car destruction gameplay that has great graphics and very fun gameplay.

First, the setup. It is a rough and dirty future where a street gang sporting fast cars has taken over the streets, making the average citizen afraid to venture outdoors. A sentient computer system is trying to save the city, and wants you to infiltrate this gang to take it down. So you are street racing with machine guns and bombs in order to save the world :)

The game tosses you right into the fun with a triple mission of infiltration. You get races and kill-the-other deathmatches. Where it might be rough in other games to get thrown into the action, it's actually really fun here. You blast away with your machine guns, zoom around corners, and discover the secret paths to make your laps go more quickly. The basic objectives are relatively simple to hit, but you get encouraged to try again for the secondary objectives to get skins. I like that they tell you up front what you'll win if you hit your marks.

The graphics are very well done. The cities are gritty, with run down alleys and broken down storefronts. It's a lot of fun to blast away at the other cars, watching pieces fly and the environment destruct. You can cause many things to happen by destroying your world buildings fall doesn on rival cars, new pathways open.

There isn't much to say here about sound. There's the sound of squealing tires, explosions and blasting weapons. Your computer friend has the calm, even voice that prods you onward in your quest. The music soundtrack is sort of a low key urban rhythm that is very unobtrusive and doesn't distract you when you are trying to juggle the 7 cars bearing down on you.

This isn't a simple Mario Kart style of game. You really are tested in your skills. There are multiple paths, multiple enemies, multiple styles of cars, weapons, defenses and skills. As you go through the game you unlock a large number of options, and it comes down to your particular style of gameplay as to which works best for you. Some people are snipers, some are in-your-face blasters. The cars I customize will vary greatly from those my friends create, and each one works wonderfully for the way we play.

This is also what makes the game shine in multiplay. You have to think creatively about how to defend yourself against a given car with its weapons configuration, and how to best attack them. Multiply this by multiple opponents and you can see how this becomes a game requiring both fast fingers and an agile brain.

Even the cut scenes and config screens have much better graphics than previous games. They put work into each and every aspect here.

There are only minor complaints if you change your controller config, it still prods you to do the "standard" button presses in the game. Also, I still find the zoom in after a kill to be annoying and unnecessary.

Highly recommended!

Full Auto 2 is a part racing, part blowing stuff up game. This game puts you behind the wheel of a variety of souped up vehicles equipped with various weapons and offers a number of ways to play, ranging from races (with weapons, of course) to 'Gladiator' mode deathmatches. There's a story driven career mode (the story is pretty weak, however) with events that offer both primary and secondary goals and reward you with unlockable vehicles, weapons, and skins for your vehicles. There are also many ways to play multiplayer, both online and in head to head offline mode.

The good and bad of the game:

THE GOOD:

Tons of stuff to blow up and break. That's one of the great features of this game. In races you can take out streetlights, vehicles, glass buildings, and lots more, and in the gladiator fights you can wreak havoc by shooting tanker trucks full of oil and knocking over stacks of huge pipes (as well as much, much more). Driving through a building might result in your vehicle breaking through the floor and tumbling to the ground, and hitting certain parts of some structures may cause an entire building to collapse.

The deathmatches, called Gladiator matches in the game, are a blast, even against the computer AI. With so much destructible stuff lying around the multiplayer maps become an absolute warzone with bullets, missiles, and explosions all over the place. The PS3 handles all the action pretty well too.

You can create new paths by destroying certain parts of maps.

Head to head multiplayer is a great option for offline gaming, and something that's lacking in a lot of games these days.

Tons of unlockables

Each event in career mode has primary and secondary objectives, so you can pass the event without doing everything perfect and go back and try for the secondaries later when you're up to the challenge.

THE BAD:

If you want to use better weapons in multiplayer modes you've got to unlock those weapons in career mode first. Putting yourself in a gladiator match right out of the box will have you fending off computer opponents with flame throwers, missiles, lasers--all kinds of stuff--with your machine gun and smokescreen. If it's REALLY necessary to unlock all the weapons the computer opponents in deathmatches shouldn't have them either.

Vehicle control leaves something to be desired, especially when you're racing. It's not just that it's tough to get used to--most of the vehicles just don't respond all that well to the controls, which is a mild annoyance in a wide open Gladiator match but a serious drawback when you're racing through narrow streets.

This game was a lot of fun overall. Comparisons to the Twisted Metal franchise are not misplaced, but this is a good game in the absence of a TM title on the PS3. While the Career mode leaves something to be desired the multiplayer options more than make up for it. There's nothing groundbreaking in Full Auto 2, but it's still a lot of fun.

I have to admit I had second thoughts about buying battle games to my boys. However, I decided to try a game where bloody images were not the main topic, but racing and defeating other cars do. My boys liked this game, because of the difficulty in this part. I liked it because of we do not see blood everywhere.

I don't see why this game gets bad reviews. Maybe it is because the vehicles you start with suck. Once you unlock a few cars and weapons, this game really picks up. The story in the campaign mode is a little over the top, but the gameplay is great and very challenging (in a good way). You can opt to breeze right through the game and unlock a lot of stuff on your way, or you can go through and systematically beat every challenge and sub-challenge for each stage and unlock everything. Regardless, once you have a little time under your belt, go immediately to the Online Gladiator matches. This is where the game really shines. The Ranked arena is frequented by some players with some great skills, and it is fun to try to keep up (unlike some games where it is frustrating to keep getting shot Online, this one gives you a fighting chance to stay alive by the lack of spawn camping that the game inherently has due to the fast and furious gameplay, open fields, etc, in addition to the ability you have to blast the turbos and get away from your pursuers). I've enjoyed this game more than any other PS3 game I have, including (dare I say it?) CoD4, R6V, and Assain's Creed. Those games are fun, but they just don't have the lasting appeal that FA2 has (CoD4 comes close as it is an awesome game for different reasons still, I would rather be playing FA2).

The unranked arenas also give a few more choices for gameplay that you can't get on single player or in the ranked arenas, such as Base Assault (quasi-capture the flag-esque game) and the Cat & Mouse Race (2 slow moving trucks on opposing teams race while everyone else gets the fast & tough cars called Warlords that go and try to prevent the opposing teams truck from finishing first).

After playing this game for a month or so, I actually went out and bought 3 more PS3's and 3 more copies of FA2 just so I could play against my kids (yes, my wife was quite irritated at me). On the weekends when Mom is sleeping in, we all "sneak" into the the living room where I move our other TV's in and we camp out there and blast each other for hours. The only other game that has come close to providing my kids and I this much fun was Mario Kart Double Dash for the Game Cube (NOT the Wii version don't get me started on how they stripped out the ability to unlock on coop mode but I digress).

Full Auto 2 has great graphics. Yes, every now and then you'll have the stray box or pipe that falls "through" you or something like that, but in all actuality, I notice stuff like that happening on most every game (including Haze, which just released). It doesn't detract from the game at all since a) it doesn't happen all that often and b) the game is moving just too darn fast for you to notice. The actually look of the graphics is quite sharp, everything is well lit (even the darker areas) so you never have a hard time seeing, the environment is quite destructible (you can blow all sorts of stuff and it STAYS blown up, unlike the little fake bullet holes that appear and magically disappear in many FPS's). You can even use the environment to kill your opponents (like blowing up an overhead rail, causing the speeding train passing by overhead to fall, crash, and blow up on your opponents, or blowing up a tower that when it falls, causes tunnels and ramps to appear, etc). The cars are detailed, and so is the damage that appears when you get shot. In fact, the damage is customized so that machine gun damage appears different than a missle, which is different from flame damage or even the look of a general crash into a wall.

As far as gameplay physics go, many people complain about the cars feeling "floaty". This is where I see the most flak for this game come from, and this is why in my first comment on this game I assume that these people just never tried to unlock any of the upgraded cars. Sure, the starter vehicles suck, but that just motivates you to unlock the better ones. In fact, the Enforcer (the police car) is one of the first cars you unlock, and it is one that has good enough stats and durability that it can be easily used to keep up with even the last few cars that you can unlock. It handles fine, as do most of the vehicles (minus the starters and the Phanthom). Of course, none of the car physics can match up with Gran Turismo 5, but come on, this is an arcade racer/FPS. I doubt slapping guns on GT5 cars would be very fun at all due to the realism (seriously how many realistic cars could withstand a missle shot especially those in GT5 that don't even show the damage?). Anyway, my take on the physics is that they handle the way I'd expect them to for the most part and aren't anything to complain about at all.

As far as variety of maps go, the races have more than enough to keep any ADHD player occupied for hours. The gladiator arenas definitely have enough to keep the online play from getting stale, but I do wish there had been more gladiator maps. I really think that if this game had come out now, the developers (now out of business thanks for pulling out on them there, Eidos) would have been able to garner a lot more attention to this game by offering the downloadable maps that the current game developers are just now really starting to get into. Who knows, if they had offered a half-dozen extra arenas at 5 or 10 bucks or something, maybe that would have been enough to keep the afloat long enough to get some more gigs? That's probably just wishful thinking on my part, but who knows?

Are there cons to this game? Well, the biggest and only real con is the lack of players Online. It can be difficult to sometime to find others on the boards, and if you aren't patient enough, you may get the feeling that you've entered a ghost town when looking through the ranked and unranked areas. Rest assured, though, there ARE regulars that play, and many times you just have to go to the ranked arenas and just camp out for about 5-10 minutes (oftentimes the regulars are in a match, which is 10 minutes long for a ranked gladiator match, which means that if you wait, all of a sudden you'll have 5 or 6 players pop up all at once as they go for another round but you do have to camp out as when there are players going round after round, you only have about a 15 second window to catch the wave or else their next match will begin without you, and you'll have no idea that they were ever there).

All in all, Full Auto 2 is great. I hope there is a way to squeeze out a Full Auto 3, but with the developers out of business and as much unwarranted flak this game received, there is hardly a chance of Sega trying to ressurect the title. I never played Twisted Metal before, so I can only hope that the PS3 version comes out and plays as well as FA2. Until then (and most likely long thereafter), I'm going to be online playing FA2.

I like this game a lot; I would have given it 5 stars but you have to play the career mode to unlock more weapons and cars for Aracade and multi-player modes. To me this knocked the game value down since I bought this game for the sole purpose to play against other opponents. So instead of playing each other immediately we are now trying to complete most of career mode to unlock more cars and weapons; to me this is a waste of my time and energy. The game is fun once you have 50% of it unlock and well worth the money; though it would be nice to start off with more than 2 weapons and 3 cars.

This controller was a big improvement over the standard ps3 controller. The D-pad is far more comfortable, and getting those Street fighter motions (Hcf , qcb, etc) feels effortless in comparison.

Okay, let me start by saying that this control is a step up from the dualshock 3, only in the aspect that its better for SSF4. As for buttons very comfortable, nice layout, but the Directional pad just isn't that durable. Its a good idea for a D-pad to be free, so it would give you more flexibility, but I just don't think it was executed well, the functionality isn't the best. Well long story short, if your really hardcore about fighting game's, you should just save up for a fight stick. That's all you really need.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have been a gaming headset user for quite some time now. From the moment I got my first headset I knew I'd never go back to a normal headset or ear buds. Just no where near the same quality. I have always opted for the more expensive models such as Turtle Beach Ear Force XP510 Premium Wireless Dolby Digital Gaming Headset, but I understand that type of budget is not for everyone.

Enter the Turtle Beach PX22. It offers an affordable price, but doesn't lose any of the solid Stereo sound quality. This is not a Dolby Surround sound model, but it doesn't have to be. It offers solid volume control, bass and tremble sound is clear and crisp, Chat quality is also really good with controls on the control box.

Easy to hook up and painless to understand. Sometimes, well most times really, simple is good and that's exactly what the folks at Turtle Beach have done here.

This headset is the obvious successor to the PX21 and is better in every way. The PX22 feels much more sturdy than the PX21. A larger headband, more comfortable ear pieces, more crisp sound, and better chat quality. All wrapped up in a reasonably priced package.

A feature that may be missed by some, unplug it from the little mix amp toggle thing and it's a standard headphone jack usable by MP3 players, phones, Playstation Vita etc. Sound quality doesn't suffer at all.

Bonus for reading this review. If you are new to Turtle Beach headsets or just unsure about how they name their products. Anytime you see PX or a combination of that the P stands for usable on Playstation, X for Xbox so PX means it will work for both systems. I only bring that up because I didn't know that until a couple months ago. :-)

Regardless, the PX22 is a fantastic headset and one that should certainly appeal to gamers on a budget that don't want to sacrifice quality.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First a quick PS3 game system use review:

I love this headset! The cable is a total of 17 FEET from the USB end to the headset, plenty of room to either sit as far away from the TV as you want, or to hide the cables to keep everything neat.

The unit looks nice, black with blue stitching. The ear pads are nice and comfy AND vented(the blue plastic has tiny holes in it).

The top of the headset is cushioned and thinner than PS one, it also has a nice tilt it so it doesn't lay on your head if you don't want it to -even after several hours playing Borderlands 2 I barely noticed them on.

It has separate bass and treble controls so you can tailor the sounds to just the way you like and it. These have a nice sound to them it sounds clean and crisp and you hear a nice *thud* when you expect it really really nice. Besides a master volume, On the chat side it has separate chat/game volume setting and also "Dynamic Chat Boost" that raises the chat during loud gameplay (explosions firefights, etc..)

The unit is 100% powered by the USB, no extra batteries/charging, it uses the PS3 Multi-cable (or the Xbox 3609 Audio adapter cable).

another cool point -The RCA jacks allow the headset to put them INLINE, so you can hook them up AND still have the sound running to whatever they were running to previously (the TV, sound system, Surround sound, Amp whatever...)no need to have set up for either one or the other.. nice touch!

Basically once you are set up, you are good to go!

Basically many people love wireless headsets, (I do also, and have the Basic Sony PS3 Model) but they do seem to have a bad habit of dying at *just the wrong time*.

These are a great addition if you already have a cordless set.. and if you don't have any headphones? Get these first! :)

Really nice!

More detailed review w/iPod use reviewed:

As stated above, these are very comfy and sound GREAT. I had these on (playing Borderlands 2) and totally was immersed in the game.

I have a pair of PlayStation Cordless Headphones (the 7.1 virtual surround model) and they work fine, but the battery dies after a while.. nice to have a cabled model to just plug in and not worry about it, so that's where these come in.

Last night I was on for a pretty long time, was also online in coop mode so I was trying the chat also. The Mic is on a swivel with a goose-neck. You can control your volume as well as others as on other models, but on this one it's pretty cool how the voice levels adjust to when the gameplay is quiet, but when it is loud (during firefights or other loud sequences) the chat volume also gets louder, so you aren't yelling, (and you can still hear others clearly). I tried it on Borderlands 2, there isn't as much talking as in other games, but I am sure you will find pretty cool also!

Sound wise, these have more of a "left/right" sound compared to a surround model, but these have a better *sound* to them since you can adjust the boost and treble. It just sounds clean and crisp and You hear a nice *thud* when you expect it really really nice.

The cable from the USB to the controls is 14 feet, then you plug the headphones into it, and that is another 3 feet (of much thinner cable) so yeah, you have oodles of cable. I use it with a PS3, I also tested it with an iPod (7th gen Nano) for this all you do is unplug it from the control and plug it into the iPod like any other headphone. You use the iPods equalizer & volume and it sounded great, no problems no over-driving. (I may be wrong but I think the Headphone's amp is stronger than an iPod, so I doubt you can over-drive the speakers.)

You can also use this with your phone by having having the control box/amp plugged into a USB, you then you hook your phone into it.

this way you can listen to your music and still take calls (with the headset's mic) I haven't tried this, but figured I would toss it out there. Finally you can use this with our computer with the USB and audio out jack.

The unit comes with a Xbox 360 Chat Cable, RCA Splitter Cable, 3.5 mm4 Pole Aux Cable and even Turtle beach stickers.

Let's see I think that about covers it, this is a REALLY nice headphone setup and here are 6 reasons why I like it:

1)The cable is super long (major plus in my book).

2)The sound is VERY crisp, with separate treble/bass.

3)The unit can be VERY loud without breaking up.

4)Really Cool chat controls

5)Versatile not just stuck using these with a game system.

6)RCA jacks allow the headphones to go inline with your existing setup if any.

7)Comfy with vented earpieces and they look nice!

Five Stars :)

Let me just say this, if you are considering the PX21's, don't bother. These are far superior. I bought the PX21's and the Tritton AX180's to test out first. I didn't like the Tritton's at all, so I used the PX21's for about a week. The mic on the PX21's broke after a week so I returned them and found these PX22's. They had just come out, and they were $30 more, but they were worth every penny.

The overall construction is much better than the PX21's. They are much more comfortable and you have more audio control options on the controller. You can adjust bass and treble as opposed to just bass on the PX21. You can adjust the volume of your own voice in YOUR headset. You can even hook up a phone or ipod and listen to music while you play. You can control the game, chat, and music volume all independently. And the cable is longer than any of the others I tried, so it reaches my couch!

Even the packaging on the PX22's were much better than the PX21. It's like they hired a new company to do the packaging. That means something when it's not falling apart after you open it.

The PX22 headset is possibly the best headset you can get for the price. I've had it for a week, and it's downright amazing. It has a bass/treble booster, adjustable mic monitor/chat booster, and game booster. You can take phone calls with it, listen to music too. If you're looking at the PX21 verses this, buy this. It's worth the extra $30 and I feel like it's a lot more durable than the PX21. It has huge 50mm speakers which can be great. The only downturn to it, is that it hurts my head/ears after awhile because it's so tight. I don't think it's a big enough problem not to rate it 5 stars.

I was looking for a headset that was compatible with my consoles and pc. I first tried the Turtle Beach PX5. The sound was great on the consoles and the headset was very comfortable, but the sound on the PC was hollow. I decided to give the PX22 a shot.

The headset was easy to set up. I wouldn't say the sound is mind blowing, but its very, very good. Deep bass, good mids, and high highs. They sound almost identical to the X12, from what I remember. Folks said they could hear me loud and clear on the mic.

I really like the inline amp. It makes it a breeze to find a good mix of voice chat and volume and its easy to adjust on the fly, as opposed to changing the mix in the control panel.

The only negative that I have is that they're not as comfortable as the PX5. The PX5 feels like its barely hugging your head, whereas the PX22 has a bit of a tighter grip. If you had your eyes closed, there's no doubt in my mind that you would choose the PX5 over the PX22 for fit every time.

If you want a universal headset with nice audio range, its a great value. If you want a headset you'll only use on consoles, I would also consider the Turtle Beach PX or XP family geared towards consoles. They have a few more features, but more importantly, they are a little easier on your head. However, the value that the PX22 brings tips the scale in its favor, in my opinion.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and am keeping them and selling my PX5.

Have multiple Gallop Racer titles, Breeders Cup World Series, and a G1J for PS2..this is my first race title for PS3 and I LOVE it! Unavailable in the US, I was forced to purchase the UK version through Amazon and the only downside is that I can't get the DLC through US PSN. The game is still amazing even without DLC and plays wonderfully in 720p with HDMI.

Challenging enough for an experienced race-gamer, but easy enough for a beginner this is a definite RECOMMEND game.

"Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey and Gallop Racer" is the next title in the series and is produced as a team effort from the creators of both series. As I write this review it is available on pre-order through Amazon (I'm about to order mine ;))

G1 Jockey is fun. However, it can be better. it gets very bored. The Gallop Racer series are the best horse racing games ever made. If Gallop Racer and G1 Jockey could combine it would the best horse racing game on the market. G1 jockey 4 should have betting, Breeders cup races, Epsom Derby, Dubai world cup and all the big races in the world. The game must use the same format as the real world. Please make a gallop racer for PS3. Thank You.

There are not many horse racing games out there for the fans. This game is actually one of the few that allow the player to experience the race the way it should. It follows the same story line as the PS2 games. Lots of fun!
