I just got this headset today, so everything i am saying is just my first impression. Maybe in the future i will get used to these things. First, the earcups are very hard, and don't go over your ears. I am used to the x12 headset where they go nicely over your ears. Second, the part where you change the game and chat volume is huge! This is also compared to the x12 headset, but the picture on amazon is very deceiving. There isn't much noise cancellation with the headset, but since i'm waiting for Black Ops 2 to come out, i have not yet heard the sound quality on the headset. Now for the cosmetic stuff. The earcups feel very cheap, and they flop around very easily. The wire connecting the two ears is very noticeable and you can see the glue keeping it together. Overall, if your getting this for the cushons or the looks, perhaps this isnt the headset for you. P.S. the cloth wires are badass, so not everything is displeasing....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT... Okay, so its been a day since i wrote this review. I decided to take them out of the box to try the sound and to really feel em on my head. I have to say, the sound quality is much better than the x12s. i own the x12, x11, and z2. And another thing. in the review i said that the cushons didn't fit around my head properly and they were hard to the touch, now, as i write this, i'm wearing the headset and i am noticing that they actually do fit perfectly around my ears. With the x12's, the earcups were really big so there was a lot of room in my ear area, with these, they just fit around my ears and the noise cancellation with music is much better than what i previously stated.

Pros: Ears are surprisingly comfortable after a day of hate.

Sound quality is amazing compared to the headsets i stated before.

Braided wire is amazing looking and feels quite durable.

Color scheme is cool, and reminds me of Halloween, a Halloween that Sandy has ruined for me lol.

Says Black Ops 2 on top of the headset.

The volume can go quite high if you want to have ear surgery.

Only has a Usb plug and a headphone plug, unlike the x12 that needs a usb, headphone, and microphone plug.

Cons:

Earcups feel hollow and made with cheap plastic.

They feel flimsy even though im sure they wont snap on me.

Braided wire is a bit heavy, so i rest it on my lap.

My boyfriend is the type of guy that "has it all" so for the holiday season, i was stumped when it came to getting him a gift--especially after his parents were giving him a gaming gift certificate! So while i was looking for the game his that recently has peaked his interest, i noticed this little number and i was stoked! He had broken his last turtle beach head phones and was currently gaming with a headset that only had one functioning ear phone. After reading the reviews, i was a bit skeptical about the material and durability of this headset. I considered the item time and again until i finally purchased it on a whim! Once he opened his gift, i could see his excitement and gratitude etched along his face; he fessed up to it being his favorite christmas gift. At that moment, i knew i had gotten him the perfect gift. He loves the quality of the head set, the color and the material were just exquisite! I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking the ultimate headset with enough extension cord to play across a mid sized room. You will be satisfied with the sound quality and the amazing features featured in this head set! Not to mention it arrived promptly at my doorstep with the packaging box also in great condition.

Broke in 2 months. Have to wiggle wire to get it to work. Has a lot os static in the sound.

I recently purchased this piece and I must say I am satisfied. Installation was a bit difficult on PS3 as you did have to play around with the wires and settings for a bit. You'd have to connect the red and white RCA wires that came with the headset to the back of the TV, then connect the RCA wires that came with the PS3 to the back of the headset ones. There is this little port on the back, it's fairly visible. Plug in the headset to the USB port. In the PS3 settings menu go to sound settings > audio digital settings > av multi. That will now have the sound running through the headset and also still have the HDMI working. Now for the mic settings, go back to the settings menu > accessory settings > audio device settings > then change the input to the turtle beaches and the output should change or vice versa.

Overall, the sound quality is amazing! And it really makes you one with the game.

Have fun gamers!

Saints Row 2 is a great game overall. The fun factor is extremely high, but enjoying games of this genre shows how sadistic humans can be.

Of course I've read and heard the numerous Saints Row-GTA comparisons, and supporters on both sides have some valid points. From my personal experience however, I can say that GTA wins with the main missions and overall presentation, while Saints Row wins in everything else. Some say the voice acting in Saints Row 2 is cheesy but I disagree. The storyline is a bit underwhelming, but sandbox-style games can get by without that. Saints Row 2 still has its moments.

Where Saints Row 2 shines is in its character customization, the best I've seen in any game, and its side missions (or activities), of which there are many. By my estimate, side missions double the amount of time it takes to finish this game completely. Most of these are right on the map too, so you don't have to go hunting for them. As far as customization, I only spent about 15 minutes on that before diving into the game, but in that short period I was still able to construct a character that bears my resemblance. In fact, my girlfriend once said she doesn't like watching me play because seeing the virtual 'me' get shot or run over is a bit disturbing.

The game isn't perfect though (hence the 4-star rating). The graphics are not very impressive, which can be forgiven as the gameplay makes up for this shortcoming. However, the frame rate can get pretty low at times. I did not expect this to happen given the cheap graphics. The save game load times are longer than they should be in my opinion. Fortunately once the game is up and running there are no load delays.

One major issue is weapon changing, which for me was extremely problematic in the beginning. You change your weapon by holding circle and pushing the left analog stick in one of the eight possible directions. The problem in this game is that when you hold circle the weapon HUD appears only for a second before vanishing. Obviously in the first mission you're unarmed, so imagine killing a cop, picking up his gun and then not being able to use it. I had to finish that mission barehanded, and while I was doing so I became discouraged. It may be possible to finish this game barehanded but I am not going to try. I honestly wouldn't have continued playing if I didn't find a solution for this. You can either press circle very hard (I don't like doing this; controllers aren't cheap) or you can memorize the weapon layout and make the switch before the HUD disappears. Since you can carry only eight weapons at a time, doing that isn't difficult.

All in all, Saints Row 2 has been a riot. It's good to see GTA facing some direct competition. The sandbox genre is better for it.

At first I was skeptical about purchasing SAINTS ROW 2 but since I have it only 1 things is wrong. I can't turn back time to purchase it earlier this game is the best game in its class much better than any GRAND THEFT AUTO I played, after playing this I basicly forgot about my Grand Theft Auto 4 because this has better guns, better missions, better drive-bys (use any gun not just an automatic weapon), better ways of getting cash , better online gameplay, better storyline, better houses and cars you get the picture. No more are you someone being told what to do you're the BOSS reclaiming your spot back in your city. Everything is customizable from your car to your house to your clothes to even you, yes your character is customizable male, female whatever you want. And if you no longer like your character you just go to the plastic surgeon and change your character at any given moment. Claim new neighborhoods so you can take your comfy throne as KING or QUEEN of Stilwater. 2 THUMBS WAY UP

This game is just fun. Reminds me of old GTA when it was fun to just drive around and explore. The side missions are a lot of fun and the character customizations are diverse. The graphics seem a little dated, but it doesn't matter because it doesn't take away from the experience. If you like open world sandbox type games, this one is a must buy!

ok i already have this game and its awesome. so when i saw collector's edition and read the description about having 40 addition missions and extra customizing features,i was excited. but when i received it i was disappointed to learn that its the same exact game. nothing new or different about it. but it did come with a cool tin case, USB flash shaped like a bullet, money clip, and poster. so it wasnt that bad. i gave a higher rating because even though its the regular game and not a different edition, the set is pretty cool. i decided to keep the set because i gave my other copy to my godchild because the game is so awesome. plus i kinda like the tin case. so ultimately, if you already own Saints Row 2 then dont bother getting this deal unless you want just those extras because its only the regular game with the extras. if you dont own Saints Row 2 then i highly recommend gettig this deal.

This game is a must have for any collector of sandbox GTA style kind of games. I have never played Saints Row before but have became a fan. The game does not freezes like GTA IV. The mission and themes are quite fun and silly. There is one activity mission where you get to spray human toxic waste all over the city. Another activity I like is called Fuzz, where you dress up like a cop for a cop show and cause chaos to citizens. There are so many different types of cars and vehicles to collect. I also like how you get to customize your character from race, sex, personality, voice, and walking styles. The customizing is more advanced than other games I have played like Godfather I & II, and the Sims3.

I was worried this fighting stick was going to be of low quality because of the price. I was wrong. This is a control that offers an amazing gaming experience for a real fair cost. Honestly after buying this I truly believe all other arcade controllers are way over-priced.

This stick has the perfect size, the perfect layout, the perfect amount of buttons. It works excellent with the PS3 and the laptop, as well with the PS2. I played it for various hours at a time without it giving me any kind of problems.

The stick itself is well made, and completely responsive, it plays just as well as the analog on the PS3. I tested it with all these games and it works wonderful:

The reason why I think the stick responds so well is because is set to the D-Pad which is usually the more accurate way to play arcade type of games.

It has a feature where you can switch between the D-Pad, The Left Joystick, and the Right Joystick, by simply holding down the Select and Start buttons.

It comes with a Turbo option that honestly I don't use, it is like one of these extra features. You can set it up between 4/Hz, 6/Hz, 8/Hz and 12/Hz.

It has all the buttons of the Sony controllers:

Square

Circle

Select

Start

Triangle

X

L1

L2

R1

R2

The PS Button (Very important for the PS3)

L3

R3

As well as the Turbo and Clear buttons, that can also be used on emulators.

Because the layout is well made, you can easily set the buttons on Mame to

B1 6

B2 2

B3 1

B4 7

B5 4

B6 3

B7 0

B8 5

... in order to replicate the exact layout of most arcade machines like the MVS. If you are playing Mortal Kombat in Mame, you can just set it to

B1 3

B2 5

B3 0

B4 2

B5 1

B6 4

... in order to replicate the Sony setup

I plug my laptop to my HD Bravia with the VGA cable to enhance the experience, I use the PS2 with the component, and the PS3 with the Hdmi. You can do the same and use the scanlines when available.

It is very solid, perfect weight, not heavy, yet it has enough weight to keep it still, I like the materials with which is made, it looks and feels of great quality. It feels very durable, it will hold well the pass of time, even if used often. It also makes all the sounds of a real arcade machine.

What I love the most is that the stick is far and separated from the buttons, which is something you simply can't get anywhere else, not even with the most expensive sticks.

The controller light is set to player 2 on PCs, but that is just the light, when you plug it with the USB it will still be used as player 1, or if you want you can also set it yourself to player 2 with the emulator.

On the PS3 the lights blink and on the PS2 they are off.

The cable is a little short, but that is convenient when it comes to not have to tie it up, either way you don't really play arcade machines from too far. The cable is not too short either, it still holds and adequate distance for a big screen TV. Even though it has a great size, it is still very portable and light enough. I often carry it around between rooms.

I love the fact that they only chose to set it for PC, PS3, and PS2, which are honestly the best home consoles to play arcade games. That way it doesn't have all those unnecessary plugs for other systems hanging out.

Problems:

The only problem with the control is that on the PS2 you cannot switch the use of the stick between D-Pad, The Left Joystick, and the Right Joystick, it is default on the D-Pad only, which works well for most games, but in games like Mortal Kombat Armageddon you can play very well in the fighting section which uses the D-Pad, however you cannot play in the mini car section which uses the Left Joystick.

Despite that, I still give the control 5 stars, considering the built, size and price.

Update: For those who were having doubts about the Select + Start function I uploaded a video to show how it works. Here it is:

Well i bought the Arcade stick thanks to a review by Carlos Gustavo and man i was dissappointed. Everything works except moving right and even when i do the select + start thing i still have problems. It is driving me crazy. If anyone can help please because so far i am disappointed

UPDATE: Well i finally got it to work thanks to someone from youtube. All we did was open it up and moved a wire and it worked. I am dissappointed that this item came in not working and us actually having to open it and fix it. The Arcade stick is fine and the buttons well..i don't like how they feel and after a long while it hurts my hand..this was not worth the buy..

The stick itself is very solid and weighty, which is nice. The buttons and stick feel cheap. I've been using this stick for a good 5 hours and I've noticed that the stick has randomly become less responsive.

For example, in a game menu, it wouldn't scroll up for me for a little while, or I've had trouble jumping left (upper right corner). I didn't notice this problem when I first started using it. The buttons also seem to sometimes give multiple inputs. For instance, when in training mode with the Inputs showing, if I try to hit three buttons simultaneously, I will at times see Light and Medium Punch input followed immediately by Light, Medium and Heavy Punch inputed, after having only hit the three buttons once.

For a $27 I can't complain, as I've heard people complain about garbage controls on sticks four times as expensive, and if I was rating this with my original intent in mind, which was to buy it to replace the stick and buttons with higher quality controls, I'd give it 5 stars, as the case is nice and solid with all the button options I'll need for either Playstation or PC, as well as quick disconnects running to the stick and a harness on the PCB running to the buttons, so I don't have to solder on the PCB, I just need to cut the wires on the harness and spice them to quick disconnects going to the buttons I'll put in (internally).

Having never used a fighting stick with the stick itself closer to the buttons, I can't say if I would prefer it that way, but the configuration is comfortable.

Unfortunately, I have to rate this as is, a cheap fighting stick that also has cheap controls that may not last very long. But, if I was rating this as a cheap stick to buy just to mod it, I'd give it a 5. (I don't remember if the product description stated, but the stick is a square gate)

This arrived at my door DOA. The joystick does not recognize 3 of 8 directions. I have to give this 1 star....Poor QA. Sorry Playtech.

With all the reviews online stating how quickly arcade sticks begin to fail, I was worried. But this stick has taken some abuse; falling down, resting food and drinks on it, a few temper tantrums, etc. But still works perfectly and has a very nice weight to it. If I had have any gripes A) Get and extension cord and B) The lights constantly blink when attached to the PS3.

It makes a huge difference in fighting games in my opinion and it just gives you that feel you get from the Arcade that a controller simply can't replace. I plan on getting a second one as well.

I recently bought this item and am very satisfied with it for many reasons. For one it was much much easier and faster to type than it was with the on-screen keyboard. While this is attached to the controller (using either the clip for the Sixaxis or the Madcatz controller which are both includind in the package) all the buttons are accesible It is comfortable to use and hold (although it makes the controller a little heavier) when just typing. If you were trying to type while playing a game this would be very awkward. The best place to have put the keyboard would have been under the analog sticks which is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. One great feature about this is if you don't use the clip you can use it as a normal wireless keyboard that works with anything that is compatible with a keyboard and has a USB port like a computer or an Xbox 360.

Overall this is a great product and I would recomend it to anyone.

I've had this mini keyboard for about 6 months now and it works consistently without incident. Granted I only use it with the web browser and to chat in RFOM. I just plugged it in and it worked. It does make the controller front heavy and I do get a bit nervous shaking off bullseye tags without feeling like I'm going to send it flying. Although, to date this hasn't happened. The size is a huge pro. My wife wouldn't stand for a full size keyboard in the living room. The only reason I am giving it four stars is that I wish it was bluetooth.

The USB light never turned green (which should indicate that it's charging). It never stops flashing red (which indicates that it's searching for a receiver). It never syncs with the thumbpad. Be careful when purchasing this item. Some have claimed success, others have not. Unfortunately for me, I'm in the "have not" category.

Read Best Reviews of Playstation 3 Wireless ThumbPad Here

(Preamble to my review: unlike the other reviewers I'm using it for my HTPC not a PS3)

Nice little find and fine for what it is: a mini thumb keyboard. Detected immediately in windows xp, good range (through walls at least ~20 feet; my apt's not big enough to test farther). Missing many keys that would be handy on a PC (eg ESC, ctrl, etc...) but they can apparently be scripted in with an external program. Keys are a little spongy, and missing the solid tactile feel of PDA thumb keyboards, but it d/n affect typing speed.

As another review noted, the receiver's red LED does flash (~1-2 Hz) but only when the kbd is in sleep mode. This could potentially be annoying, but you could just cover it up with some electrical tape. Another potential concern is the USB charging: if the battery runs out, you can't just the change batteries; you'll need to recharge. Not sure if it works while charging, but that sort of defeats the point.

Filling such a niche market, I wasn't expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprised, esp. for the entirely reasonable price.

Want Playstation 3 Wireless ThumbPad Discount?

I bought this for use mainly on PlayStation Home (as I use voice-chat when I'm in-game, no time to type :P), and I must say that I am extremely disappointed. The only reason I did not give it a 1-star is that it does not malfunction; it works perfectly (tested both on PS3 and PC), but how it works is just horrible.

About the construction and performance: Every time I fit it onto my controller, I feel like the plastic is about to snap, and could almost hear it cracking. I tried different methods of fitting it in, but all lead to the same result. I feel the plastic isn't of good quality, and that a better job could have been done. To add to that, whenever I'm typing, I have to press the buttons pretty hard in order for it to register the input, which not only makes it difficult and frustrating to type on it, but again, I could feel the plastic cracking under the strain of the hard button presses.

To sum up, though it works smoothly (plug & play for both the PC and PS3), actually using it is problematic, difficult, and stressful. Hope this review helps!

I bought this game because I am a big fan of turn-based strategy games. I had somewhat optimistic expectations for this game, though that may have been too much. The game itself is fairly straightforward, the gameplay is okay, the theme is straightforward, the only problem is your rewards do not accumulate fast enough to keep up with the escalating difficulty levels. Also would like it if you could save the game during a level as opposed to only after completing a level. Overall buy it if you are a hardcore turn-based strategy gamer, otherwise I would avoid it.

Excellent Game! Although perhaps not a 5 out of 5, it sure is darn good! These types of games are rare on console. This one is pretty good and has great trophies. This game is similar to Valkyrie Chronicles and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

The Graphics are not the best, but then this is a WARgame. I thought the graphics were just fine. There is nice detail in the units. The scenery is bland, but who wants great scenery in a battle game like this? It just distracts from the mission. Sound is also nice. I had no problems with sound cutting out, just a pause when the music tracks switched. Music is great for this kind of game, as well.

There are lots of units, 21 Allied and 14 German (German only in multiplayer). I used quite a few of them in my play.through of the campaign. I never did use aircraft, however. Aircraft and artillery take up a lot of fuel, and I used tanks mostly. The way fuel works is easy You get so many points for a mission, say 30. M24 Chaffee tanks and the standard Sherman each use 10, as does the M10 Tank Destroyer. Meanwhile, the P51D takes 20, and the B25 Mitchell needs 30! Anyway, you choose your troops for the mission, and cannot 'use' more fuel than allotted. Once in a mission, units never run out of fuel.

I used Regular Infantry earlier on, but quickly built up an elite force of Paratroopers, Commandoes, one Ranger, one Sniper, and 2 Bazooka guys. The Heavy Artillery unit uses 20 fuel, and I used that in the last mission.

All units have hit points, so it is a matter of wearing down the enemy. Tanks can only be damaged by anti-tank, so most infantry cannot do much against a tank. Gameplay works real well. Although units can go on 'over watch' similar to XCOM:EU, over watch has very limited range and is not the best tactic.

Oh, forgot to mention. Although the game does not state, the different tanks DO have hidden armor values. Hitting a Tiger tank with a 75mm M24 Chafee causes less damage, sometimes no damage, than say a Sherman. Whereas the same gun hitting a Panzer IV does nice damage.

The missions vary. I thought they were pretty cool. Some are night missions, and you have to sneak. Others are defense, escort, and offense. The escort missions are not bad, just don't lose the key unit, like a medic or someone.

Trophies ROCK in this game! There are 6 Bronze, 6 Silver and 8 Gold to get the Platinum.

***** Trophy Spoiler *****

Assassin this means 15 knife kills. Only Commandoes can get knife kills, usually at night. Try and get as many as you can since night missions with Commandoes are pretty rare.

5 and 10 Heroic Victories 5 silver, 10 gold. Easy to do on easier difficulty settings.

Full Army! add 24 troops to your army in the campaign.

No Casualties in Fourth Operation the last mission is kinda hard if you don't have the right equipment.

***** End Spoilers *****

The difficulty settings go from 1 to 5. I first tried 3, Commander difficulty, but did not do to well. I restarted the campaign on setting 2, Rookie, which was way easier. Setting 1 is a Picnic! (4 is Bring Them On! and 5 is Heroic.) Anyway, after finishing the campaign once, you will restart with the same save file. You will keep all unspent Prestige and Patton's Skill Points. That is when you try a harder difficulty setting. Oh, you start over with standard troops and no special troops unlocked.

I should mention that all battles are No Save during the battle. However, even after finishing a battle, players may restart that battle from the battle over screen. This is neat.

Upgrading Patton's skills is fun. The skill points help you win. Bear in mind the opposition also gets upgraded!

Also, the PS3/X360 versions have 4 Operations and 21 Missions, unlike the PSP/Vita version that has 7 Operations and 35 Missions. Maybe some DLC is in the works, although less content is most likely due to license restrictions.

Anyway, Legends of War: Patton is a pretty good wargame for consoles. I enjoyed it and was able to get the Platinum trophy rather easily. This was an easy Platinum, and FUN!

Hope this review helps!

I have never been a fan of turn-based games. But have been expanding my tastes a little lately. This is a good game, I'm not sure about the historical accuracy of it, but it's fun none-the-less.

Some missions are a bit repetitive, easier levels may be too easy (with one shot killing the enemy, and it taking multiple shots to kill your own guys)... but it wouldn't be fun for any ages if it was one shot kills all the way around.

First off, since this is a COD controller, I am mainly talking to the COD audience. I did not try this controller on any other FPS.

I was interested in a little nicer controller due to my dog chewing up the analog sticks on my "Officially Licensed" PS3 controller. I saw the mixed reviews for this controller but decided to buy anyway because one review on here states that the L and R button design should be the standard in FPS controllers.

I did not find this to be the case. First of all, the X-axis (Horizontal) was way too sensitive. I talked to MadCatz and the only way to fix this is to either install a variable resistor in the controller (which is really not recommended at all) or to turn the sensitivity down on the game, which isn't the answer for the Y-axis movements. Personally, I believe madcatz should've had a little more testing on this controller before they mass released it.

Also, with the way my hands grasped the controller, I did not like the placement of the L/R buttons. They are blocky, whereas on the original PS3 controller, the buttons are rounded allowing you to move your fingers more rapidly with less searching for the "correct push" (as is the case with this controller. It does feel good just holding the controller, but holding it and playing it are two totally different things.

This is a big disappointment to me. The visual design of the controller is amazing. I'm sure if you started out on COD with this, or wouldn't mind deviating your playing style a lot from using an original controller, it would be fine and you'd never know the difference. But so far, for me, the "Officially Licensed" controller is hands down the best. I did return the controller within a week of buying it.

I got this controller for Christmas last year and its still working like I got it yesterday. The extra two buttons on the back are really helpfull I keep it set them on L3 and R3 beacuase its faster to press then to push down the analogs. I highly recomend it for new players and casull players!

I was nervous as my Dad uses the Sony Shockwave and Sony does not make this type of controller but it is wonderful. My Dad plays a lot of war games and loves the buttons on the back. He uses only this controller now. He would recommend this to anyone who plays a lot of shooting / war games. Very nice controller. Only problem is it does not fit (connect) to / on the rack that holds and charges the other Sony controllers but other than that it's perfect.

I personally will not be buying anything from this company ever again. The dongle I received did not work and the company could not of cared less. If you need product support I would not expect this company to give a crap. Horrible service.

The product description says: "easily positioned, applied without air bubbles"

Product 3/5: It isn't bad and looks nice when it's in place. Not so easy to put this thing anyway.

For a deceptive description 1/5: This skin left bubbles, no matter what you do, it leaves bubbles all over the place and isn't "easily positioned". The only good thing is that effectively this skin doesn't create a mess when removed.

So, overall a 2/5 counting the very high price (18 bucks) for what it is. There are better options with a reasonable price out there.

Imagine a world where you can't die, and only your body can. You are a computerized entity capable of "hacking" into the minds of enemies, controlling them and turning battles in your favor by catching squads of your foes off guard. But, imagine that you can only do this once your host shoots an enemy enough times, is close enough to said enemy, and whose aiming abilities make Shadow the Hedgehog look like Master Chief. Such is the world of the painfully generic MindJack.

Story: D-

To illustrate how important plot is to this game, let me first tell you that MindJack allows players to interrupt your campaign at anytime by "hacking in." This means that your quasi-successful run of a level could, in theory, be ruined by some idiot who doesn't know his rear end from his elbow. Before you ask, YES, that is indicative of how urgent this game's "story" is. From what I gathered, it's about some super-amazing secret agent assigned to escort some woman who has some kind of special ability and a passing resemblance to a loved one, and he's supposed to do... something. Honestly, I stopped paying attention, because the voice acting and dialogue was so pathetic that I stared at the ceiling to keep myself from getting bored. Yes, my dull white ceiling was more engaging than this game's plot.

Gameplay: D

This game is a perfect example of how a brilliant concept can fail miserably if executed wrong. And trust me, it can't get much more wrong than this. The bland, last generation gameplay might be forgivable if FeelPlus had taken the game's main concept a little more seriously and turned it into a compelling element of battle. Instead, they turn it into a sluggish hassle that gives you little motivation to use it, which isn't good considered it's technically the only way to survive throughout the game. Other small things, such as your character walking at a snail's pace outside of battle, and the camera shifting down to the ground whenever you pick up a weapon, become nuisances which further mar what could've been such a great experience. And I refuse to comment on the slapped-on level system, simply because it seems to serve barely any purpose.

Graphics/Sound: They're Bad

Normally, I split the graphics and sound into two more sections and give them their respective grades. In this case, however, I'm willing to make an exception and just be honest: these are both the most laughable aspects of the game. Bland graphics with jagged edges galore are accompanied by the most generic soundtrack this side of a Saturday Night SyFy Original Movie. Problems are worsened to a further degree by the laughable cutscenes, which have some of the worst voice acting since Resident Evil in 1996. It's really sad that a game like this, with a pretty large company putting it out, can scrape by with such dreadful post-production values. Actually, it's not sad: it's embarrassing. Deeply, trulyembarrassing.

Overall: F+

A cool concept, I will admit. If this had been prepped a little more, we would've had a grade-A game on our hands. Instead, we get a rushed piece of junk that will be in the bargain bin faster than the sound of your controller dropping onto the ground as you fall asleep playing this game. And to answer your question, yes, this game made me fall asleep in the middle of a fire fight. So please. Don't let your post-school or after work gaming session turn into a nap. I strongly urge you to play something better, or even replaying a game that you know like the back of your hand. MindJack is a special kind of horrid; it's painfully familiar and dull, and with today's options in the gaming world, there's no reason to spend 60 bucks, or any amount of money, on something like this.

EDIT (7/2/13): A weird time to edit a review, I know, but I had to bump down my score a bit. It remains at a one star for me, but the D+ is now an F+.

MindJack got a lot of grief when it came out, and it hasn't gotten much better. However, seeing it for under $5 one day, I decided to pick up a copy and see just how bad it really is.

MindJack tells the story of a man who's name I can't remember (and that I don't care enough to look up) as he tries to discover what he can, as within the first few minutes of the game he's treated as something of a traitor.

The voice work is pretty horrible at times, so expect to groan.

The mind hacking taking over the bodies of friendlies or neutrals is similar to The 3rd Birthday, with the exception of a pretty poor AI (although left alone for long enough they do a somewhat passable job most of the time) and you won't hear Aya's exclamations of ... whatever. This hijacking requires line of sight, however there also seems to be some percentage of body seen, in order for it to consistently work.

The game is mostly a third-person shooter, with a rather faulty hand-to-hand combat system (although taking someone as a shield seems to work fairly well).

All that said, it's about an eight hour game. However, I've put a little over 20 hours of time into the game. And it's for the same reason I'm going to give the game 4 stars.

The game allows you to play through by yourself, or like Demon's Souls (I apologize if anyone cringes my mention of that in regards to this game), blue or red hackers can jump in. Blue hackers can use any friendlies (and since you consistently have a partner through the game, at least one could play through with you), while red hackers can use any enemies. Red hackers can certainly have an easier time, since there are more enemies than friendlies at the start, but they're unable to jump into most bosses.

You can shut this off if you want, but the real enjoyment of this game comes through in the multiplayer.

Unfortunately there's not too many people playing the game (I'd say maybe a dozen at the time of this review), yet on the other hand they tend to be people that also just picked up the game, making it a fairly 'tight' group of people. In fact, thanks to MindJack I found someone who I'll be keeping an eye on, since we have very similar gaming tastes.

Had the online component not been active I would have given this game 3 stars. However, because of the great community, and the fun I had because of it, I'm giving MindJack 4 of 5 stars. It's certainly not one of their better games, but at $10 or less, it's worth the price, in my opinion.

the idea of the game is pretty cool but the game itself is a lil on the odd side...the graphics are pretty cool but the plot is rather cheesy if not downright retarded at times

They ought to call this WalletJack.

Hard to believe Square Enix could release this in 2011 with a straight face; it looks like a weak game from a decade ago in most every way. The graphics are mediocre, the gameplay sluggish and almost entirely lacking in fun, and the concept of excitement seems to have been lost somewhere. Maybe some other, much finer game company hacked into the Mindjack developers' minds and made them create the most boring, pointless game of the past few years (or more)?

When you walk around, you barely crawl. Hmmm, I must be missing something here...how to make this guy move and keep me awake. I kept hitting L1, L2, then R1, then R2, then my head for renting this joke of a game. If I can save even one person from buying this I will have successfully completed the real task of this game: keeping other fans of intelligent games miles away from ever wasting their time on it.

Elias' review here is perfect and goes into more depth as to why this game sucks. No need to rehash that, just to say: don't waste your time. Aside from the basic idea of hacking into other peoples' minds, there is nothing here, and that concept is treated so shabbily and without imagination as to beg the question: why did this game get released, and what were they thinking when they played it themselves? Did they honestly think this was worth shipping? Have they never seen the Uncharted games, which, though years old now, make this look like Asteroids or Space Invaders, without the fun?

Mindjack is a complete and utter waste of time, and maybe the single most boring video game I've ever played...since Pong.

This is a decent gun for the price if your looking for something out of the realm of the little blue and red sony gun attatchment. However, the gun has one bad flaw.....the gun doesn't lock the move controller into place good enough. The hatch that closes over it does not close shut securely enough to whip the gun around or to pistol whip with it like needed in the shoot. other then that its great. I use a hair tie to keep it tight and shut. duct tape will work too but you shouldn't have to do all that for a great gaming experience.

Attention this product is a hazard for playing Move games. I went to hit a close antagonist with the gun in my hand as per instructions of game, of course using the Move system and the controller flew right out of the gun which was securely closed. This gun cost me my wonderful 40" LCD tv that I had bought myself around last Christmas of last year 2011. The door surrounding the controller came open and upon further review it is quite flemzy and pops open at a momments notice. My tv is simular to the commercial at this point. I hope this helps.

This item is decent considering its price and for its use. However, be wary of this item for it is defective and has cost me our newly bought Samsung 46" 1080p 240Hz LED Smart TV worth $1,249.99 from BestBuy just because of the unsecured lock while normally playing "The Shoot", and now the whole panel has been smashed with my Playstation Move Motion Controller and there's no way to get it fixed or replaced. I DEFINITELY don't recommend this accessory for those people who are less careful with their stuff. Please don't be like me who has been fooled in buying this item. Sorry for the manufacturers, but you should assure that your items are fully functional and safe. You could have added a better lock to secure the Playstation Move Motion Controller in its place. What if, by chance, the people using it while playing accidentally got the Motion Controller fly directly to other people, especially children, and got them injured? My LED TV's pixels got shattered and that force is not a joke if someone got hit with it. This item is really an inconvenience in that part, and I urge people to avoid this item for security and safety reasons.

Many dismissed this game when it first came out, probably with just cause from it featuring 50 Cent. The game itself is kind of cheezy, from the storyline to the one liners 50 and his crew spout. However, at the heart of this game is a really fun shooter. Utilizes a cover system and borrows heavily from Gears of War, with a little Army of Two and The Club flavor mixed in. Graphics are good and even better if you think about this game being several years old. You can earn money to unlock taunts, weapons and hand to hand moves/combos.

The most unique thing about this game is the taunt button. You actually get a points bonus when you kill somebody and taunt them. Most of the taunts are straight from the hood, so this is a game "Beanie" from the movie Old School would say you need to "earmuff" the kiddies. Actually, this is so explicit you should earmuff yourself with headphones so the kids can't hear it..lol.

Overall the game is just plain fun. Features online drop in/out co-op and blowing stuff up and gunning down masked Arab thugs gets pretty wild. You should be able to find this cheap now, since it's oop and rather old. If you find it for cheap, pick it up.

I purchased this merely as a joke. so my friends could see my status as "...is playing 50 cent blood on the sand" and so they could see it in my trophy list....BUUUUT, sadly the US version doesnt have trophies. but as far as the look of the game, it looks decent, beat my expectations, and its actually fun/funny the dialogue is hilarious. i have only played for an hour or so but the game is as you would expect and a little more...it is fun and has fun combos and challenges, the only down side is the lack of trophies.

I was looking for a cheap 3rd person shooter to try and I had second thoughts on Blood and Sand but I bought it anyway. This game is more fun than I thought and it should receive more recognition. Basically you shoot your way through missions but its a fun ride. The story isn't extremely deep but I didn't have a problem with that. Fun game great price, I'll hold onto this one for a while.

I picked this game up yesterday having never played the original Wii version, but having always being a fan of the HOTD games at the arcade and light gun shooters in general. This game is great fun and does the genre well. The game plays great with the Playstation Move and Sharpshooter rifle. Tip: for those having trouble with drift on your Move remotes, go to the System menu on the PS3 XMB and choose Accessory settings. Choose the option for Motion Controller Calibration and DISABLE the magnetic sensor. This will eliminate any drift issues with the Move remote in any game. I've had zero issues with Socom 4, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Time Crisis or Cabelas Big Game Hunter 2012 or Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 since disabling the magnetic sensor. From what I've read, there is actually no PS3 games that utilize the magnetic sensor at this time so even games like Sports Champions or Virtua Tennis 4 play smoothly with the magnetic sensor disabled.

'house of the dead: overkill' has always been my favorite game for the wii, and when i read that a port was being made for ps3 with hd upscaling, i started to pine for october.

concept: the same as the original, however we now have two entirely new levels! it's like having a heaping load of awesome with two extra sides of awesome! and i have to admit, the trophies are kind of fun (but given the nature of the game, this shouldn't be surprising). it also seems to me that there are far more bonus items in each level, which is a welcome addition.

graphics: they have transferred well. they aren't in line with new releases for the ps3 (obviously), but they do look far better than they did for the wii release. i also noticed in slo-mofo-mode that when you do serious damage to a zombie they REALLY get graphic with the splat factor. i do not recall this being as...messy...in the previous edition.

sound: top notch and, of course, we have the beyond hilarious voice work from the original (which for me, was a huge part of why i loved the game). between the cutscenes and the dialogue between detective washington and agent g, there is never a dull moment (i read somewhere that this game has the record for the most use of the 'f' word out of any video game).

my one real beef (and why i removed one star) is for the functionality. i tried this first with my dualshock controller, and not only was it difficult to shoot accurately, but the button mapping was strange. to shoot, you press either X or R1. R1? it felt very akward and i wished i could have remapped it to R2, but no such luck. you can move your crosshairs with either analog stick which actually gets a little confusing, especially if you happen to move one by mistake. i died a little too often because of these poorly laid out controls. using the move is far preferable, and honestly, point and shooters are so rare now, who wouldn't want to play this way for kicks? using the move peripheral enables this game to be played in a fashion that suits it far better than the dualshock controller.

this game was already great, and now it's been elevated to the next level with a plethora of wonderful additions. this is by far worth the price. with new weapons, trophies, and levels, this is ideal for 'hod: overkill' fans and newcomers alike!

(i wish i could comment on the 3d capabilities, however i do not have a 3d tv. if i have a chance to play it in 3d elsewhere, i will update this review at that time.)

100% recommended!

*** *** ***

i found a couple of things i wanted to add to my review.

one: the load times seem a bit excessive.

two: the move peripheral isn't as sharp as the wiimote was for the original. several times i have had the crosshairs directly over a zombie or a bonus item, even shooting that spot multiple times, and it still does not register. there is significant 'drift' as well as a difficulty getting each shot to register as you pull the trigger. i suppose this could just be my move set, but i thought it worth noting. on the wii version i had an average of 80%+ accuracy, on the ps3, my accuracy has been around 52%. either i have started to suck far more, or there is a learning curve here with the move accesory.

i just thought these were worth mentioning. i still love the game though!

Buy House of the Dead OVERKILL Now

Light-gun games have become almost extinct, but HOTD Overkill gets a new coat of paint and new content for the PS3 over what was offered on the Wii. The graphics are much improved and there are some new chapters added to the game. Each chapter is set up with B-Movie style intros and it really comes off great. The shooting is fast and fun and Playstation Move support is a great addition.

One thing that irks me that really isn't a problem with the game is the Playstation Move controller will lose proper calibration at times. This will make your aim off, usually to the left or right. You have to re-calibrate it to get it back on target. I don't get this and it should be fixed by now, because this has been a problem with the Move controller since it came out last year. Had/have same issues with Resident Evil 5 Gold, Dead Space Extraction and Time Crisis Razing Storm.

I loved this game. I am a fan of lightgun games and when I surprisingly got a ps move in the mail and went straight out and got this and a gun attachment. I was not dissapointed. The gameplay was great. The story was half way interesting and fun at times. The levels differ in appearance from a carnival, a prison, a hospital, and even a strip club. The zombie variety is good too, putting you against slow zombies, fast zombies, big zombies, baby zombies, bird zombies, nurse zombies, and even stripper zombies. I've gotten several other ps move shooters since this one and it still holds up as the best.

I noticed that this headset got some negative reviews so i decided to write my own. First of all, this headset is very comfortable, sleek, and easy to use even when it's on your ear. The sound quality is also great and I didn't get problems with me hearing my friends or them not being able to hear me.

I have no idea why some people have problems paring the device. It's pretty simple and straightforward. I connected the headset to the PS3 and the red light on the blue-tooth came on. I let it charge for about 2 hours until the red light turned off. I then turned it on and got a message on the PS3 saying the blue-tooth device has been connected.

I went under Settings Accessories Blue-tooth Devices on the PS3 and saw my blue-tooth device listed there. You can easily connect and disconnect the device by clicking Triangle here. Sometimes when I turn on my headset I notice that it doesn't automatically sync so I have to go here and just click triangle and then connect. No big deal to me.

I also saw another review saying that the audio comes from the TV instead of the device. You can easily change where the audio comes from by going under Settings Accessories Sound Settings on your PS3. You can make the audio come out of the TV or the Headset.

In conclusion, I think this device received some negative reviews just because the user didn't take the time to configure the device properly or had no idea what they were doing. I would definitely recommend this headset. Works flawlessly on my PS3 and the sound quality is great. On top of that, the design is very nice and it works on either ear.

In the past I've used my mobile bluetooth headsets for PS3 gaming and was always frustrated by the lack of sound quality, or functionality (with some headsets I would have to "connect" in the system menu every time I wanted to use them). Echo always seemed to be a pain with the few I've used!

I received the PS3 2.0 headset yesterday and spent about an hour and a half playing Black Ops multiplayer and it was noticably better. Little to no echo, very clear and seemed to be intergrated with the system better than 3rd party headsets (paring was simply plugging in it also tells you the charge on the screen like the controller does which is nice). Thus for the short time I've used it it seems to be worth the money.

Also, it paired easily to my Android phone and the sound was also clear and loud (I left myself a message with it). The only two downsides are; 1) the plastic ear "hoop" is pretty cheap and I worry about breaking, and 2) no wall charger (comes with a short usb cable so you can chard from the PS3 or any other usb device).

Buy PS3 Bluetooth Headset - Urban Camo Now

As usual amazon's price and shipping was a great deal.

Product is very lightweight, compared to other bluetooth headsets that tend to feel heavy after a hour+ of wearing, I've worn this for 3 hours with no ache or heavy feeling.

It comes with about half battery, a 6in usb to mini cable, and a stand. For those with the energizer 2 port controller charger, this will not fit the holder designed for the older version, however it works with the mini cable supplied plugged directly into the energizer charger.

Pros: PS3 ready, plugs into the ps2 and registers in 1 second, big mute bottom on the side, great mic and speaker.

Cons: Ear clip seems cheap, will probably break in the future, they should of shipped two. Price was a little high, but version one is only $10 cheaper as of today.

im really glad i bought this.

pros

great audio quality

great mic with HQ sound and noise cancelation

lighter, smaller, sleeker than the previous model. this thing really looks and feels great. you can barely feel i on you and it doesnt fall off when you shake your head.

lights up all different colors. its def a nice looking piece.

smaller ear clip which is more comfortable than the previous

very easy to use mute button as well as all other buttons

it does not hurt my ear. other headsets i have used in the past gave me a really sore ear after and this does not.

comes with a stand

cons

the earbud isn't the most comfortable thing in the world but it doesnt hurt after a while so its fine. i just wish they made it sort of like skullcandy earbuds that have different rubber sizes that fit in your ear for maximum noise cancelation and comfort.

the stand is so small and light when you have it plugged in it doesnt like to stand up, the weight of the wire tends to tip it over.

the usb cable it comes with is about 6 inches long. its ok if your just charging it but many people like to set the headset up on the stand close to them so they can still use it to talk through while its charging.

very sensative. this is a good thing and a bad thing. but it literally picks up any tiny noise around you.

Want PS3 Bluetooth Headset - Urban Camo Discount?

Better looking, smaller, more comfortable, it makes the previous model look so bad. I used the first model a lot and thought it was great, car noise was no problem while talking on the phone, but the headset itself was rough. Now this 2.0 version is here to set the record straight, as slim as the PS3 slim when compared to the fat one, i love it!

For those with previous models, i reccomend selling it and upgrading to this sweet PS3 headset, is so worth it
