It's okay, some of the codes I've tried so far work and some don't. Sometimes only half of the cheat codes for a game I apply works and the other don't.

This works pretty dang well... but they need to go back and put some older games on here. And not only that they have games on the list that have no cheats available. With some of those games you can sift through thousands of line of code to find your gold amount and be able to edit it, but still those games have little ability to change much.

I like how easy this product makes it to resign games. This product has a nice updating list of games it has codes for.

I am new to the PS3 world and needed to get another Dualshock 3 controller for my system. Before I threw down a bunch of money for an overpriced controller, this deal caught my eye. At the time I bought it, this packaged bundle actually cost a couple of dollars LESS than an "a la carte" black PS3 controller. After you toss in the PS3 Greatest Hit game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, this is an unbelievably good deal. Saving a money is a no brainer. Even if you end up hating the game, it essentially only cost you the price of a fast food value meal. Thankfully, Drake's Fortune has received great reviews on Amazon for graphics and gameplay, so there must be some truth to the "Greatest Hit" distinction. Yes, the game is a couple of years old and the sequel (Uncharted 2: Among Thieves) has received even BETTER reviews than "Drake's Fortune", but if you're trying to expand your game collection like me, this is a steal.

One note about the PS3 controller--it does not come with a mini-USB connector cable like the controller that came with the PS3 console. This seems to be the case whenever you by an individual PS3 controller (not just this one that came in the bundle). At first this made me pretty mad that Sony was being a cheap punk, but I eventually calmed down because it really isn't that big of a deal to just switch out the cable depending on the controller that needs more juice. I was thinking about getting one of those charging stands anyways to help organize the controllers. Apparently these mini-USB cables are pretty common for a lot of electronic devices, so you might have a bunch around the house and not even know it.

All in all, this is an excellent deal. Despite Sony's best attempts to swindle me into buying an overpriced controller, I was able to stick it to them and get a free game out of it. At the time I wrote this review, the price had gone up a few dollars, but it's still a great deal if you need another controller and don't have this game in your collection. Or you could even give it away as a gift if you already own it...

UPDATE: Jan 4, 2009

Have played about halfway through the game and it's incredible. The controller works as it's supposed to as well. This bundle probably is one of the best values on Amazon. Get it now!

I think this is a fabulous way to save money on two things any PS3 owner should have--an extra dualshock 3 controller, and Uncharted.

The controller is undeniably fabulous... but well, chances are, if you're looking into buying this you already know that. I'm a huge fan of gaming with friends, and my primary purchase reason was for the spare (ironic bundle, really... uncharted is a one player game!).

As I said, I originally bought for the deal on the controller, thinking I could sell Uncharted. But I decided to give it a shot... and did not regret it. I don't even like shooter games! But this one is great... very natural feeling controls, great aiming system, etc. Ultimately someone who never plays and doesn't like shooters was able to pick it up and get the controls in no time and really enjoy the experience. Uncharted 2 also rocks, looking forward to the 3rd once it comes out(hopefully it doesn't take the trail that oh-too-many failed sequels do... though based on the current sequel, it won't).

So go for it... great way to get two fabulous products at a good deal.

First, I will say that you do not want to buy this game if you have a 'fat' PS3. It will work for awhile then stop. There is no way to fix it.

Now on to the review. This game is both a great game and has a great story. The hero of the story is not some super powered guy running around rescuing damsels and punishing bad guys. Drake is an average joe who does not like being shot at, and the ladies want to slap him. The scenery is fantastic. The game play is top notch. The storytelling will keep you glued to your TV for hours, and Drake is a character that people can believe in and also get behind.

I purchased this to complement my Playstation 3 console. It is well built, and comes with 2 adapters: one for the 40 GB PS3, and one for the 20,60, and 80 GB PS3s.

I think the adapters are mis-labeled (the labeling is molded into the actual adapter). I struggled to get the Media Hub to lock on to my system with the 40 GB adapter, but when I tried with the other adapter, it clicked right into place. The adapters have two small nibs that "lock" the media hub into place on the PS3 by way of the front air vents.

The Media Hub brings the total number of USB ports on my PS3 to four. With the 40 GB PS3, the media hub can only be plugged into the LEFT USB port. It molds perfectly with the PS3 face, and can be used when the PS3 is in the vertical and horizontal positions.

The only thing I would suggest for Nyko to improve is that the matte black finish should be gloss black to match the finish of the PS3. It's a minor quibble, but would improve the aesthetics of the unit. Also, the Media Hub only "adds" the capability for two additional USB devices, not three. The 40 GB PS3 has two USB ports. Adding this device brings the total to four, not five (since one of the existing USB ports is taken up by the device).

It is a very capable USB hub and card reader.

I was excited to see this product announced a month or so ago and immediately pre-ordered it. It came in two days ago and after playing with it for that amount of time, I can say that I'm extremely happy! Not a flaw with it.

It fits so nicely against the PS3 frame that it looks like a part of the design. The finish matches the PS3 black mat just fine unless you shine a light directly on the unit, at which time you can see a subtle difference in color.

The adapter snaps firmly into the vent holes underneat the USB ports and comes pre-configured with the 40GB adapter for the ease of most consumers (most purchasers of this will be 40GB PS3 owners). In fact it snap so easily into place I didn't even notice it happening, when I tried to remove it I could not until I figured out it had "locked in".

The card reader also works great and adapts to several different types of memory cards, but mostly I use a media server or thumb drive to put media on my PS3, so that's not something I will use often.

My PS3 purchase was for two reasons: Blu Ray and RockBand, so I figured I'd get the cheap 40GB one. When I got it home and saw it only had 2 USB's and no card reader (as opposed to the 80GB version) I was a bit upset, but my fault I should have done better research. This hub has completely solved the problem in an attractive way while adding memory card functionality to boot my powered USB hub with a crappy dongle has been officially retired!

If you have 40GB PS3 and find yourself wanting a memory card reader, or more USB ports, this is the only thing to buy!

This item snaps onto the front of your PS3 and returns the SD card reader that Sony removed and adds an extra two USB ports. It comes with plastic inserts so it will fit on every type of PS3 including the Metal Gear Solid Special edition.

With repeated use it will not disconnect but it will come loose. It also causes cables to stick out the front of your PS3 much further than normal.

I do not understand why Sony made the stupid mistake of only two USB ports and none in the back. With Guitar Hero and many other components not using Bluetooth, my PS3 front panel has become a mess of cables.

This item cleans it up a little and adds the SD card back.

You can still use the second USB port (it does not cover it up).

The only thing that I found that was wrong with this product was the fact that it can't fit on the PS3 Slim. NYKO needs to make a similar one but for the PS3 Slim. Don't get me wrong but this product is really reliable but I thought it could work on my PS3 Slim but it don't.

Want PS3 Media Hub + Discount?

This little device addresses HALF of the issues Sony created when it decided to 'go cheap' in order to be more competitive and removed any form of PS2 compatibility, half of the USB ports and all card readers from its PS3's. With the Media Hub+ you recover:

the 2 'lost' USB ports

the ability to read SD cards and, of course, Sony's own Memory Sticks

I own the old style PS3-60 but I persuaded a friend to order the Hub+ after reading the Amazon reviews, of course. He has an upgraded PS3-40GB and he was constantly complaining about lack of USB ports and the inconvenience of not being able to transfer photos to the PS3 directly from a Memory Stick. The Media Hub+ very much addressed his problems.

The following is our experience with installing and testing the Hub+:

The claim that it adds THREE additional USB ports is false. The Hub does come with 3 USB ports but it's using up one of the existing PS3 ports to connect to it. You will have 4 USB ports, not 5.

Installation is easy. You simply plug it in and... it's works. This is really a glorfied USB hub with a card reader interface.

Once installed, it's hardly noticeable if your PS3 is set horizontally. If you have it vertically, it looks a little ugly.

Everything we tried on the USB extra ports worked wel.

We had no issues with the card reader either.

Must be careful whenver plugging/unplugging something.

I am reluctantly awarding 5 stars to this item, because it was so badly needed and because the price is right but I do not condone the dishonest and untrue claim of it adding THREE additional USB ports.

Now, is anyone going to bring back the PS2 compatibility? :)

First, this case does fit the "fat" PS3. I wasn't clear on that when I bought it, but it certainly does so it is perfect for me. I hauled the PS3 around in its original box for a long time, but the handle finally broke while I was carrying it. Luckily nothing broke. This case is definitely sturdy so I have no worry about that. The system fits snuggly inside and there is a strap inside to hold it as well.

The pouch on the front can hold a couple of items. I've found that I can fit the power cable, HDMI cable, one controller and one game inside. There are different combinations of that (two controllers, one game, etc.), but the point is you cannot carry a whole lot inside. The option I will exercise is putting the two cables inside the main area with the console to get a little more room, but I will inevitably have to carry other stuff outside the bag.

There are actually 16 slots inside the case to stick disks in if you want to transport them that way. I prefer to keep disks in their proper cases.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it. However, I would design the case differently to allow more carrying room because anyone who is transporting their system most likely needs more room than what is provided.

11-18-11 edit: The case is still holding well. No problems and I have used it a lot.

This device is an excellent adapter for Xbox Gaming when you are hooking up to an older model of a dell computer screen. If you have an HD import on your computer screen, then that is better to use. Unfortunately for me, i dont have an HD port on my computer monitor, so this is the best for me. I enjoy it so far, no problems whatsoever.. I use an Xbox cable to VGA to connect my computer monitor, then this adapter to hook up sound from my xbox to my stereo speakers. Very cool when playing with others, i play system-link all the time with my brother. Very good for that purpose. Totally recommend for that purpose! Perfect 5 Stars!

The heading description of the device and the picture matches what the device is. However there is another line in the description area stating that this will be able to connect to your stereo. That is incorrect and misleading. The plugs are female plugs and they need to be male to plug into the back of your stereo receiver.

Things to know about this collection:

The digital download code is a bundle package SSF2TurboHDRemix, SF3:3rdSOE, SFA1-3, and all DLC are one code to redeem. So, if you already have, say, SF2 downloaded, and were planning to maybe give the one included in this box to a friend, no bueno.

The light-up Ryu statue is plastic. The detailing is awesome, but the entire thing is super light and has a plastick-y feel to it not a problem if it's staying in the box or going on a shelf. Also includes batteries, so (Shirley voice) that's nice.

The belt is high-grade, seriously, this thing is thick enough to whip someone with. And the embroidery is nicely stitched.

Art book nice, hard-bound, but pretty thin; Certificate of Authenticity attached to the inside of the lid, must be removed to get to the art book; soundtrack CD's nicely presented, individual slip-in plastic sleeves, going right back into the box after getting ripped to the computer; game discs, natch; and finally, the Blu-ray discs of the Animated Series (awful), the Street Fighter 2 Animated Movie (excellent), and other visual goodies.

The box itself comes in a slip-sleeve, black with the kanji in white on front. Silver hinges and corners, a nice pseudo-suede feel to the box, again the kanji in the lid. Feels solidly built, good construction. This box won't fall apart anytime soon.

Hope this helps.

A book of tribute art to street fighters 25th anniversary made by fans

and a certificate signed by yoshinori ono (producer) signifying the authenticity of the items and he's thank you to the fans.

As a street figher fan, this review may be biased. But let me just say, that this is Yoshinori Ono's Thank you to fans in the most appropriate and most sincerest way. The price tag may seem too much but with the items above, I say it is worth every hard earned dollar fan or not. I give this collectors set, 5/5 Stars.

I just purchased this yesterday and im very happy with it. I already have Street Fighter 4 and SF X Tekken, So I did not purchase this set because of these games, For the PS3 version you do also gett SF Alph 1,2,3 and Alpha 3 Max for the PSP download. The Box is nice, it has the Japanese Kanji Character "Heaven" with some sort of leather and metalic corners. I would value the empty Box at least $25 itself. The Ryu statue is pretty cool, it lights up, I just wish it were bigger. If sold alone that would be worth at least $20. The Ryu Black Belt has the embroidered Japanese Characters "Furinkazan" Meaning Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain. That thing is worth about $20 also. Then we got 11 CD Soundtracks, worth about $ 7 each. 2 Blue Ray Video Discs including a Documentary, Street Fighter 2 the Movie(which is the Renegade Censored version), the 2 Street Fighter 4 Anime videos, and the complete Street Fighterr Animmated series which has 26 episodes. Alone these videos would be valued at about $35. The Tribute Art Book , with submission from people all over the world is really amazing. Many of these pieces are professional quality works that are on or above quality of official Capcom Artwork, it could be work $ 25 if sold alone. If all these items were sold separately this is already over $200. Given the Limitted Number, this set could go for more, than that, Christmas is only 3 months away too. Im really happy I got this set.

Am I the ONLY one a bit disappointed that this collection does NOT come with the original Street Fighter game?!

Want Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set Discount?

Being a Street Fighter fan since the SNES, I've never been more excited for an anniversary set. That being said, I really can't believe they didn't include some form of the very first title, since this set IS celebrating the release of that game and not the release of the seminal SF2.

That doesn't mean this set isn't completely worth it though. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD is a glorious resprite of the game that helped put fighters on the map. 3rd Strike Online Edition runs smooth as butter. And the addition of the SSF4 Arcade Edition was great as I already bought SSF4 and didn't want to spend on the AE dlc or disc. Street Fighter X Tekken is a wonderfully executed experiment for the series, bringing a Marvel vs. Capcom style tag team playstyle and some of the crazier Tekken characters into the fold.

The soundtrack discs are a fantastic addition, especially the fan remix discs, spanning the sounds of the entire series (SF1 soundtrack IS included but again no game, curious). I'm a big fan of art books and the one included in this set is great, including some great art of your favorite characters and a solid construction. There's also a Ryu statue and black belt which are both well made little touches. The box itself is a nicely constructed felt chest with a storage spot in the top for the art book and certificate of authenticity (another funny little addition to all of these collectors boxes but nice to have none the less). The ONLY complaint I really have is how the soundtracks are packaged. The concept is right, as each disc has a small sliver in the box that they should fit nicely into, but the plastic they put the discs in is too flimsy and gets bent easily. No damage to the discs, just looks a bit janky in this otherwise beautiful collection.

The set also comes with a download voucher that, at least for the PS3, makes the price tag COMPLETELY worth it. All 3 Alpha games, Alpha 3 for PSP, hundreds of Avatars (if that's your thing), and every bit of costume dlc for both SSF4 AE and Street Fighter x Tekken. That's a ton of money saved.

I also cannot recommend the beautifully produced Area 5 documentary "I Am Street Fighter" enough. The doc features interviews with some of the most important players in the original rise of the series and the great return it's had since SF4 launched a few years back. It's especially great seeing Seth Killian talk geek about his love of the series. The discs also include the Street Fighter Animated Movie, SF4: The Ties that Bind (which was included with the original SF4 collectors edition), a SSF4 original animation, and the animated series that you should remember if you were a Saturday morning cartoon fan.

This is nearly the perfect box set. If you already own all of the games that this set presents, I'd still recommend checking it out almost based on the documentary and the box itself. Again, the only complaints I could possibly have, and the only reason this isn't a perfect 5 star review, are that the soundtracks could've been better packaged and there is no SF1 included anywhere in the set. Enjoy this great set if you do happen to catch it, and get online and enjoy the flash kicks!

I've only played this on the PS3, as that's the only console I have. I'm in my mid-40s, and have tried to learn guitar off and on for the last 4 years. I've bought books, and courses, and downloaded tabs from the web, and watched videos, and while I've learned some scales and lots of chords and even memorized some guitar solos, the mechanics of playing have just never come to me. It's always frustrated me to know that despite all the chords and scales and tabs I've learned, if I were in a group around a campfire and the group asked for someone to strum guitar, I wouldn't volunteer because I just don't sound good when I play. I know that mechanically, it's just not there, and having 100 chords memorized doesn't help when you're constantly fighting with the guitar because your fingers are never in the right place and you never seem to land on the right fret. I think my big problem is that I never really learned how to play without looking down at the fretboard, and if I don't look, I'm lost. Books and videos can be read or viewed slowly, or paused, and they don't force you to learn without looking down.

I've now been playing Rocksmith for 4-5 days, and already I can tell that I've improved in this area, and the reason is so simple: you're forced to keep your eyes on the video screen, so you can't look down, and your hands have to learn how to find the 5th position (5th fret) without looking, and how to find the D string without looking, and how to slide from the 17th fret down to the 10th fret without looking. The challenge games, like shooting the cartoon birds, or practicing slides from all over the fretboard, actually work because they repeatedly force you to play without looking down. That may sound like such a simple thing, not looking down, but for me (and maybe lots of other people?) it means the difference between just noodling with the guitar and actually playing the guitar.

The song selection had me hesitant at first many of the songs I'd never even heard of but the reviews are right....it's easy to enjoy all the songs because each of them is catchy in their own way, and each poses a particular playing challenge.

It's is a challenging game, at least for me, and I still have plenty of moments where I reach for the controller to hit pause just to give my hands a rest, or to get mad at myself because I messed up a progression I think I should have nailed, so my advice to beginners is to take your time and just relax and let it come very slowly. Forget about how all those instruction videos make playing guitar look so easy I don't think it is easy, and it takes work, and hundreds (or thousands) of hours of practice over time to truly learn guitar. So you're probably not going to be playing the solo to "Sweet Child O' Mine" by week 2. But you will be playing, and making actual music, and for someone like me who has never gotten over the hump and never gone from a tinkerer to a player, this game might be the best $80 I've spent on any video game, and it may be the best learning tool I've ever come across. I wish I'd had it 4 years ago, but I'm glad I have it now, and I can't wait to see how much better I'll be playing in a few months. It's very exciting to feel like I'm finally getting over the hump, and that learning guitar may not be impossible after all.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

I've been picking up (and putting down) the guitar for over 25 years now. I've tried everything: human instructors, online video lessons, self-practice using downloaded tablature...nothing has gotten me "over the hump" to the point I stuck with it and became proficient. After only about 3 hours of play, I can tell that Rocksmith is going to change all of that. It's a blast (while challenging) and I'm confident this really will keep me playing. Tired of your kids spending countless hours doing mindless button mashing? This is the "game" for you. While I've really enjoyed mashing buttons in Rock Band and Guitar Hero, I always wished I had actually been learning to play actual instruments. The drums come the closest, but the guitar is ultimately silly. Fun yes, but completely non-educational.

The ability of Rocksmith to adjust the difficulty of the song "on the fly" as you play is a revolution. I never feel completely overwhelmed, just always at the edge of my ability. It keeps you motivated without getting discouraging.

My only regret about Rocksmith is that it wasn't available 25 years ago. A crying shame, really.

Kudos to Ubisoft for a fantastic tool, and may it find all the commercial success it needs to provide DLC for many years to come. Thanks Ubisoft for creating the guitar game I've always wished for.

Worth every penny and more.

Before getting into my review, here is an important tip:

AUDIO LAG!!! If you are experiencing audio lag, the problem is the HDMI cable. You need to run the audio from the RCA (red and white) cables through the tv, headphones, or an external stereo/surround sound system. Doing so will fix the annoying audio lag problem I'm sure most people will experience. So if you buy the game, don't forget about this tip!

UPDATE:

FROM MY EXPERIENCE, THE HDMI CABLE WASN'T THE ISSUE, THE TV WAS! I have played the game on two tvs and I have used two different cables. The first tv I played on has bad lag, and I can't seem to find any settings to fix it. However, on my tv at home, I can play with an HDMI cable without any problems. If you have lag on your tv, try turning off any special features in your tv settings. If that doesn't work, use the RCA cables as described earlier in my review.

Here is a little background about myself to support my experience playing the game:

I am a musician and I've played guitar for a number of years. However, I've always played basic rhythm guitar. I never got around to learning scales, solos, power chords, ect... only regular chords for rhythm.

Now for the game. I have only played it for about 2 hours so far, and I am really enjoying the experience. I'm a pretty busy person, and I often feel guilty when playing video games because even though I do enjoy playing, I feel like it eats up time I could use for more productive activities. Finally, I have a game that I don't have to feel bad about playing for hours on end! I am a worship leader at a church, so guitar is part of my job. Not only is this game fun to play, but I can see how it is going to help my abilities on guitar grow tremendously! The interface is similar to Rockband or Guitar Hero, but the developers did a superb job at modifying the familier interface to work well with a real guitar. It may feel awkward at first, but stick with it, and you will get it. After a few songs, I felt like I was playing Guitar Hero, and it was mind boggling to think I was playing a real guitar. Considering I already have experience playing, the game felt oversimplified starting out, but it was still worth playing to get a feel for the interface. It didn't take long for the game to start getting a little challenging. The game adjusts on the fly to how well you are playing, so don't worry what level player you are. If you have never played guitar before, it will keep things simple for you. If you are an expert on guitar, it may take a little longer, but it will adjust to your skill level. There is so much to say about the game, but I'm limited on time. I just wanted to get a quick review out for anyone considering the game so that you can know this is a game worth buying. If you have any desire to learn or improve on guitar, BUY THIS GAME!! If you have a hard time getting motivated to practice your guitar, BUY THIS GAME!!! If you loved the Rockband and Guitar Hero games, then BUY THIS GAME and quit waisting your time on a plastic toy!!!

UPDATE: Safety Concern

Something to be careful about that the game doesn't monitor is correct technique. You can easily get sloppy when trying to sightread the game interface, and doing so can damage your hand/wrist. If your hand starts hurting, take a break, and make sure your technique is good. I pushed myself to extended periods playing bar-chords incorrectly, and I started getting sharp pains in my wrist and hands. I'd find it hurting later in the day simply driving my car, and I was concerned of getting carpel tunnel. Now I do a couple scale warmups before playing, and I try to stop if my hand starts hurting.

UPDATE: 5-1-2012

I haven't played this game in a while, and I decided to pull it back out. I downloaded the latest patch, and I'm really happy for the updates!

So far what I've noticed:

1) The Sony wireless headset now works! Part of the reason I quit playing the game is because I now use a monitor without speakers, and a headset is my only audio source. For a while, the Sony headset and the guitar cable could not work together. This is no longer an issue!

2)I hated that you could not set the difficulty level of the game in riff repeater mode. It would make you practice at an easier level, and when you passed it, it would bump up a level. The problem with this is that you had to relearn the riff every time. Now, you have the option to jump the difficulty all the way up. Doing this in the mode that slows down the music allows you to memorize the actual guitar part (rather than relearning dumb down versions).

3) Another thing I didn't like about riff mode was that you only got 5 tries. Now, if I'm remembering correctly, you get 30 tries. These additions to riff mode make this game just about perfect for practicing guitar.

4) Precision Tuning The basic tuning will say the guitar is in tune even if it's slightly out. Although it's not perfect, choosing to use the precision tuning option makes it easier to get perfect pitch.

I'm excited to see that the company is listening to feedback and improving the game without charging money for a new version. There are plenty of songs to build my skills, they have a decent amount of dlc out if I get bored, and I'm sure I'll get Rocksmith 2 if they ever release one!

UPDATE 8-22-2012

The game now supports bass for all of the songs! If you buy this edition (or already have it), you have to pay $30 for the bass DLC. If you don't already have this game, you might want to consider buying the new edition that includes both guitar and bass. Depending on when you read this review, Aamazon says the new version comes out (or came out) October 16th, 2012. I purchased the DLC, and I think they did a great job with it. Most songs are pretty easy compared to guitar, but that's not the game's fault. The bass parts just tend to be easy for a lot of songs! If you have any interest in playing bass (or know someone who does) it should be a no brainer! You can also plug a guitar and bass in at the same time and play with a friend if you have an additional USB to 1/4 cable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I own a Fender Washburn Stratocaster. I threw this disc in, hooked up the guitar, and held my breath. Would the nay-sayers of "latency / too many A/V setups" win out the day?

The answer is a resounding NO. I play a note and there is no noticeable delay whatsoever. My A/V system has become my amp (and oh, what an amp with a Pioneer Elite to back it up).

Rocksmith, first and foremost, is an INSTRUCTOR, not a social party. If you're looking for social party gaming like Rock Band, look elsewhere. Rocksmith is intended to have you learn how to play guitar, straight and simple. The game starts off with a sound check to calibrate the volume of your guitar and, more incredibly still, to TUNE YOUR GUITAR. And it's a surprisingly good tuner at that.

Once your guitar's in tune, the game eagerly throws you into the Rolling Stone's "I Can't Get No Satisfaction."

"What difficulty should I play?" you might ask. Ah, that's where the beauty of Rocksmith comes in. Rocksmith will ramp the difficulty up or down depending on how well you play. Are you nailing every single note coming down the strum highway? Well, here come a few more! Ooops, you're missing just about every single note? Rocksmith will ramp it down. There's no "failing" here...Rocksmith will rewards you with the points that you rightfully earn for playing notes correctly. If you play more notes correctly, you earn more currency to unlock more portions of the game. If not, then you're not really ready for some of the other challenges...so stop punishing yourself. : Rocksmith wisely uses the point system to ensure that you're ready to tackle the challenges that you're capable of taking on.

And it's just not about playing songs. Additional challenges come in the form of mini-games where you're playing notes to blow stuff up. It's a rather unique way to get people of all ages into the throes of learning to play guitar. I'm in my late 30s and I enjoy the variety.

What if you are actually proficient and just want to play your guitar? Well, there's an "Amp" mode for that, too. Just go over there and you're able to go through a variety of tone/pedal selects and play your guitar through your A/V system to your heart's content (for 5 dollars, you can unlock everything via DLC so you don't have to play the game).

Note of warning I did mention earlier that this is no Rock Band. It's a LONELY game-play experience. Don't expect to invite 3-4 friends and expect to make a night of Rocksmith...it'd be about as much fun as inviting your friends over to watch you play piano. Yeah, that doesn't work. But, as a primer, Rocksmith succeeds in spades and is going to be having me up many nights learning how to play a guitar.

Thank you, Ubisoft, for making a game that actually lets you use a real guitar. I'm hoping that the backlash of Activisions Rhythm Game saturation won't ultimately hurt sales, but I will be a dedicated follower to come.

Suggestions for Rocksmith II if it should ever happen include bass guitar!!!

Cheers and rock on!

I recently bought this game for PS3. As someone who has been playing guitar for nearly 2 years and is a lower intermediate player I find the game has a lot of potential, but also a lot of things wrong with it that make it extremely frustrating and in the end unenjoyable to use. The developers need to spend some time with a similar iPad, iPhone (iOS) app/game called Rock Prodigy to get some ideas on how to majorly improve Rocksmith.

1. Adaptive Difficulty: adaptive difficulty might be okay for those who just want to play a game, but if you actually want to learn to play the song it is HORRIBLE! The constant adding a removing of notes makes it very hard and frustrating to actually learn a song. Adaptive difficulty should be optional. Like Rock Prodigy I should have the option to pick a difficulty level. Once I get the hang of a level I can move up until I am playing the full song.

2. Pre-Rehearsal: Add a pre-rehearsal or a option screen that presents all the chords and progression used in a song (like sheet music), maybe strumming patterns and other skills used in the song. Music tabs could also be available here.

3. Note Names: I should at least have the option to turn on note names like in Rock Prodigy. Colored strings/notes are useless outside this game.

4. Practice Mode: Kill the 5 lives idea, make endless if wanted.

4a. Auto Pause: Rock Prodigy has a very cool function called auto pause. In practice mode the song will automatically pause until you hit the correct note or chord. Very helpful when getting started with a new song. Can be turned off at any time.

4b. Speed: Let me pick the speed. Once I can play it slower I will speed it up at my own pace.

4c. Riff Repeater: Let me decide when to stop!

5. Rhythm: A better way to present rhythm or strumming patterns. The presentation on the note highway is confusing.

6. Retry: Let me retry whatever I am doing without having to go back to the main menu screen and reload. Gets annoying very fast.

7. Load Times: Install to hard drive option to speed up load times.

As I stated at the beginning I believe the game has a lot of potential, but as it is now I find it more aggravating than fun or educational and would have a hard time recommending it to other guitar players. I think I am done playing the game for now. Once the overdue PS3 patch/update is finally released I will revisit the game and see if it is greatly improved. I hope it is because I want the game to be hugely successful. It is a great idea to be able to use a real guitar to learn actual songs and have fun, but it currently falls short in to many ways in my opinion.

In most ways, this controller works just like a regular Sony controller, and for a far cheaper price. So if you don't mind a couple head-scratching issues with it, it's a worthwhile purchase. That said, I've noticed two problems with it:

1. If you have it plugged in to the PS3 when you turn the system off, it turns it right back on. That probably sounds ridiculous, but I have tried it dozens of times (not to mention hundreds of times with the other controllers I own, which NEVER do this) and every single time I turn off the PS3 with this controller plugged in, it turns the system back on. If you have a separate charger and/or charge this controller while the PS3 is on, then this won't affect you (and it could be that not all of them do this, but mine certainly does.

2. If you pause the game you are playing for more than a minute or so, the controller shuts off. You have to come back and double click it again before you can push start and continue the game. It's not as if that takes all day or anything, but it can be a bit annoying if you're the type that has to walk away from your game very often.

If these two things don't bother you (and if you're confident enough that the one you buy won't have additional problems) then hey, save yourself $25 or $30 and buy this controller. Who wants to spend $50 on one, after all?

I bought this for my husband as a second controller for his system. We definitely didn't want to spend the larger amount to get a Sony brand controller. This price was relatively very cheap. My husband noted that the controllers didn't work as smoothly as the standard Sony controller you receive with the gaming system, but the problem wasn't big enough to actually hinder game play. Overall, we are completely satisfied with the product. Considering it was four times cheaper than the name brand, this was a good deal. It was sent from China so it took a full week to arrive, but it did come all in one piece and was actually already charged to play.

I would recommend buying this controller and saving yourself the money.

The total I paid for this item was $13 and I can definitely tell I got my $'s worth. The response of the unit is slow and if you are wanting to use this for online gaming on C.O.D. for example get ready to have your stats JACKED up. The joystick controls are out of control and the buttons don't respond on first tap. This controller is now used for the unlucky sap that may come game w/ me. The only reason I bought this controller is because my other one met its demise at the bottom of my foot while I was walking in the dark, and instead of waiting patiently to save the $40 for an officially licensed Playstation controller I rushed and now have to wait for the wife to okay a second controller expense. DONT BUY THIS P.O.S. CONTROLLER!!

Just chiming in to say that this looks and (mostly) feels like the real deal. You can tell if you are a regular gamer but this thing is as advertised. I bought this specifically to use with my android devices (nexus 7 and HTC Evo LTE). Rooting the devices and using the SixAxis pairing tool/app worked great and I am playing pretty much any game with a $16 controller. This thing feels much better than most any mobile device bluetooth game controller and has 4 triggers and thumbsticks with L3/R3 which many mobile game controllers are missing. Consider that this costs less than half as much as a playpad, icontrolpad, icade, etc. and its a no brainer.

This controller does have a couple of "quirks," but they are not too much trouble. The first is that it has it's own power saver that will automatically turn it off if left alone for a (seemingly short) time. And, this cannot be adjusted at all, as far as I can tell. If this is a problem for you, you can eliminate this by plugging it in. But, this brings me to the other little quirk. If you turn your system off while this unit is plugged in, it will automatically turn your system back on. (With the USB cord unplugged it will behave like the original)

I have to emphasize though that I find this to be a good product overall, especially for the price. With the exception of the aforementioned "quirks" it looks, feels, and acts just like the Sony version. In fact, it is almost indistinguishable from the original.

If you are looking for an off-brand replacement for a wireless PS3 controller (that doesn't require batteries), I would say that this product is a good choice.

I've been a big fan of the Tony hawk games until the last one. I just got tired of the same game with a few boring additions added every year. So I decided to check this game out.

PROS

I have to say I'm impressed. The "flick it" system is a refreshing change to the way skating games are played. No more button mashing. I didn't think I would really care how the tricks were executed, but I was wrong. It takes a few minutes to get used to, but it's great when you get it down. Having to memorize 500 commands to do a trick is no longer necessary.

The graphics are excellent. There's no loading time no matter where you travel, unless you "jump" to certain points. It's pretty fun seeing how many different ways you can bail, too.

CONS

The create-a-skater is very limited. There isn't much you can do to change how your guy looks. You can tweak the face and hair all you want, but it ultimately ends ups looking like the same average homeboy regardless.

Story mode is a little thin. The challenges aren't that hard, and you have access to every move from the get-go.

SUMMARY

If you're looking for an in-depth skating game with a deep story mode, then don't get this game. If you want something closer to what real staking is like, this game is for you.

I've played Tony Hawk games from the very first one and this game is on a completely different level. Since skating in video games started it's been flawed with the idea that pressing a but makes you ollie or grind. But this game is all in the joysticks. To ollie you simply flick the joystick. To grind you land on the rail, you don't press a button. It's very realistic in the sense that you're trying to become pro by making your own videos to get on to a skate team. I could go on but instead you should just buy it and enjoy it yourself.

I bought my copy about a month ago and I haven't touched another ps3 game since.

I hate the unrealistic elements in tony hawk's pro skater. Anyone who skateboards in real life can tell you that there is not a drop of realism in that game. Skate, however, is insanely close to the skateboarding experience. The analog stick controls are very innovative, as is the unique angle from which you see your skater. These two aspects when combined with a great physics engine make for extremely fun game.

When you're coming up to a ledge to grind it, it's not a simple push button sequence. You have to be going at a proper speed, from the right angle and you have to know when to come off. This is insanely fun. You will not be able to easily perform all tricks. Much like a real skateboarding trying to land something, you will have to make several attempts. The realism is very absorbing.

My one complaint about this game would be that the controls for some tricks are very similar to others. Sometimes you just can't fine-tune the way you flick the analog stick enough to differentiate between tricks. This makes some of the challenges in career mode a bit of a hassle. Career mode itself isn't as fun as free skate or party play anyway though, you probably won't spend too much time in it.

Overall, this game is great. Ditch the aweful Tony Hawk games and play something more realistic like Skate.

This game is such a breath of fresh air from Tony Hawk. I've been playing the series since Pro Skater 4 but EA's skate really does an awesome job of breaking free from the button mashing of Tony Hawk and makes it a whole new experience. It's much more laid back and down to earth than any skateboarding game before it. I highly recommend you rent or purchase skate and be on the lookout for the sequel coming soon.

Thumbs Up:

use of real life brands and magazines make the game more realistic

the new flick-it controls are unbelievably fun to play around with

graphics and sound are nicely done and the overall presentation matches the skateboarding culture

the instant replay is a blast to use, you will crash and crash and love ever single minute of it

Thumbs Down:

for those like me who are use to pulling off 50 tricks in a single line in Tony Hawk might have an early learning curve as the new controls and camera angle might get you frustrated in the beginning

Some of the music is a little off and weird, luckily you can choose to turn off any songs you don't wish to hear

Some of the loading times are randomly long especially going to watch a saved replay

you cannot delete any photos, videos, or profiles from within the game, you must navigate to the saved game directory in the cross media bar

Wonderful game, in what is now three games. While the first introduced a new idea, the second game (Skate 2) completely defined the core mechanics, worked out the bugs, and refined the gameplay down to a smooth sailing Skate game. Would recommend for anyone trying to play a "realistic" Skate video game, and would recommend for anyone who actually skateboards.

I wasn't sure I wanted to play this game even though a lot of people told me it was good. I finally gave in and from the moment I picked up the controller I couldn't stop. I found myself playing this game until 4 o clock in the morning at one point because I was so hooked I lost track of time. I first played Dragon Age which was made by the same teams and even though I loved that game, I feel that this one is ten times better!

The character design is excellent. I love the characters and their back story, even though I didn't play the first Mass Effect (cuz I have PS3 not xbox), I really felt connected to them either way without having had opportunity to know a few of them from the prior game. The graphics are well done (even if at some points they look eh) I felt the general design was good and amazing to look at. The story is awesome and it's very hard to quickly explain what i liked about it. One thing that really fascinated me was that you could either be a Paragon or Renegade (which is kind of like good guy or bad guy), this involves you making chooses that raise your status as either. This factors into the end result of your game as well.

The way you can have the ending turn out is so unbelievable that I felt that this game was like playing a real life experience. At the end you will either have members of your team die or they will all survive. What goes into it is so complicated and interesting that I decided to just go about it without looking at tips until after. Member loyalties, who you choose to take certain positions and do certain tasks develops that and you will end up with an ending that is different from mine or the next. I ended up really sad because what I didn't want to happen happened either way, but it made me feel like I wasn't playing a game but watching a really well scripted movie.

The only things I didn't like that much were the upgrading system and the love interest choices. What I mean by that is even though I play games I don't consider myself a master gamer and I felt like the upgrade system took some getting used to and at times I didn't even know what to upgrade or if I should spend money on things that may or may not be useful. I also didn't like that you couldn't have a male Shepard have a romance with another male, but a female could have one with another female. This only annoyed me a little bit because that's what made me really like Dragon Age, it's something you don't see in a lot of games. With all that said I think the pros of this game outweighed the cons since A) you could have a male/male relationship in Mass Effect 3 and B) My problem with upgrading is my default not the makers.

So my suggestion is this If you like a game that has a lot of action, drama, and unexpected outcomes this is the game for you. I think anyone who liked Dragon Age or Infamous would like this game and hopefully whoever takes my suggestion will agree with me on how awesome of an experience this game provides.

When I first played these three Hitman games, I thought they were revolutionary. The creativity involved in finding the perfect way to get away with a hit is astonishing; the different pathways that each level can take are innumerable.

I had played these three games before, so I knew what to expect. With trophy support, this game delivered well, and it was a great opportunity to revisit one of the gems from my PS2 game collection.

This game is one of the best for the system in my opinion, and it certainly did not disappoint.

What I was expecting. Excellent product but the game brought a promotional code that doesn't work. I already registered in "Square Enix" pages and it said that it's an invalid code.... anyway I like it and recomend it. I only suggest to put these products in smaller packages to avoid high transport costs because I paid a lot for costs of transport due to packaging.

Huge fan of the games, I already had them all on PC. I lost my copy of Contracts (it was a physical copy, not on Steam) and the PS3 collection was on sale so I figured it would be neat to have anyway.

The graphics (the whole draw of the collection) are not good. They're basically upscaled PS2 graphics. So that was a bummer.

Also the game uses R2 to shoot, and R1 to reload, which is abysmal on the PS3 (which always uses R1 to shoot). It's impossible to get used to, and there's no way to change it.

If you really must have this collection on a console, get it on Xbox 360 (I imagine the controls are much better). But your best bet entirely is to get the PC version on Steam, which also includes the original Hitman game, but doesn't include Contracts, you'll have to find that on disc. The controls are customizable and work much better, plus you can max out the graphics pretty easily, and it looks better than the console ports.

Want Hitman Trilogy HD Discount?

Take a great franchise, and then make a HD version of the trilogy, but then out of nowhere go against all conventions and change the controls for no reason???

WTH?!

R1 is the trigger button on the PS3 controller.

Changing it to R2 is plain stupid. R1 feels like a trigger. R2 feels like a gas pedal.

Are all these other shooting games wrong? Silent Assassin, Contracts, and Blood Money all originally used the R1 button as the trigger.

Shooting now feels like a wet noodle. So lame. Pathetic really. It reminds me of switching the brake and gas pedal on the car for no good reason.
